Tinyplot: When They Return

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Opening the drawbridge via its lever is simple, though only Fayt can actually do it, and it opens out onto a bridge. The bridge is stone, parapets like a castle interspersed with the occasional high, arching delicate tine. It's steady, and has a good handrailing, but still. A thick, heavy wooden castle-styled door marks the end of the bridge, set into the side of the opposite tower. But the opposite tower is only a few feet wide. Still, only door available.

Heading through this door does not take Fayt into a tower. It takes him out of a DIFFERENT tower. Presumably, his own, here; a plain-looking, practical sort of spire formed with blue and black-tinted stone. There's a massive array of spires in the distance, connected to this one by a complex web of bridges. Fayt finds it quite simple to navigate to any of these nearby.

Surrounding spires are strange facades, themed in weird ways, but quite clear in their themes. One is made of pure steel and styles itself after a car engine, one is a bright pink with many soft angles, another appears to be made of flesh and dripping a gross black substance down its openings... And yet more are still stranger! There's many around here.

Down below, in the strange, cloudy space below the spires, you can see a strange, soft red glow that pulses irregularly and chaotically, like the lights of lightning... By now, Fayt will know its true, more sinister nature. Nothing strange going on in the environment today, though; Fayt's free to execute his exploration plan.

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
As Fayt makes his way into the node, he taeks a slow, steady look aronud. This place hasn't exploded yet, good. "Alright, so..."

Fayt looks around at the others, who hopefully followed him inside. "last time I was here, I leanrned that there's these... people? Things? I don't know exactly what they are, outside of them being named Collector, Splitter and Dissonant. They kill anyone who doesn't have a full spire, is working together, or has a taller spire than everyone elses."

Fayt pauses for a moment, before continuing. "We need more information. My thoughts are we should search the node a bit. Namely, I'm hoping to either find a tower that's been destroyed, or two towers with the same theme, since that means someone somehow got hold of more than one tower, either one should hopefully give some information as to what exactly we're dealing with."

Kirito has posed:
Kirito's pondered on it recently. All these conflicts, whether he should face them as himself, and truly risk his life like others did for him, or continue to use this strange power the Multiverse has granted him.

The operation of virtual bodies. A fake him that can't be killed for good, can't feel pain, but can accomplish real heroics. Since Double Fault can strengthen him, is it cheating to keep using his avatar?

So, several times he adventured out in the flesh. He can't regret it, despite the pain and the danger, but he won't repeat it anytime soon either. Because...

While others might consider KIRITO a fake swordsman, Kirigaya Kazuto has reaffirmed his beliefs despite his fears and anxiety. The Black Swordsman will repay every debt. Yes, it's only right that he wield every weapon at his disposal for his friends' sake!

Being so sorely defeated by KING made him realize the cost of losing once more. He might lose everything, even if his life's not tied to his HP bar anymore. He must treat every battle as though it were. No more tomfoolery, no more lollygagging.

With his will tempered by the fear of death and the desire to repay everything, his 'Aincrad Style' will shine like it once did. If there are any faults, he can depend on his partner to carry some weight too.

    "Are you ready, Double Fault?!"

Kirito's feeling a little bit late, but the Spriggan has made his way in time. Twin swords are sheathed across his back - Double Fault, and Lucent Arrester. "Wait a moment. Sorry, but it's my first time here. 'Anyone who doesn't have a full spire?'" He can see the towers, of course. But what does it all mean....?

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron did indeed follow Fayt into the castle proper. He's here as a proper Guardian, more or less, and remains behind and slightly to the left of Fayt. Suchiru is with him, in its sheath across his back. As Fayt explains, he listens, while taking in the sight of the place. Kirito's words get his attention, and he turns to look at Kirito -- something seems 'off' about him -- before offering a nod. Looking back to Fayt, he notes, "I'll need to hear this too." He's in the same boat as Kirito is, after all, it being his first time here.

Staren has posed:
Another sky-themed node! Staren's reminded a bit of his own... except, instead of a flying scientist city, this is a land of... wizard spires? Staren's dressed in his usual labcoat, Eureka on his left arm. Staren notes the glow. "Spires people live on, hostility below... I wonder if our nodes could be connected?

Fayt explains things. "So they preserve the status quo. No new wizards can build new spires, no new power groups can come into being, and noone can be more powerful than anyone else. They want to keep things static and unchanging..." Staren hmms. "What did you see in your original vision? There might be a clue there..."

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Maugris is making several affirmative noises. "This sort of pursuing and investigating is the proper way to do this. I expect you to figure out everything going on here, you know." There's a bit of an expectant, aggressive sort of noise!

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Double Fault speaks up. "Always, man. You know it." There's a brief flare of red light down the blade and a firm sort of assenting noise. "Got your back. Let's focus on keeping Fayt safe, that sorta thing." It's doing its best to mirror Kirito's more serious posture here.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Auron's blade seems rather casual about this sort of thing. "Good to know what's up, I guess. Looks like we might just be on guard duty, though, whatever's going on. Ehhh." Seems kinda excessively relaxed about this. Hmm.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Eureka says, "It is not outside the realm of possibility. Keep your eyes open for any further indications while we search here. As for the matter of keeping the status quo, that could certainly be the case. If the status quo is awful, though, it may be that they're trying to perpetuate a negative change."

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
Fayt nods Staren. "That's what I'm thinking, that' why I'm looking for two or more spires with the same theme, if someone managed that, I want to know how."

He then looks to Auron and kirito. "Alright, what I know about that is that inside each of these spire is a mage. All of the mages are using enchantment to try and sort of... push their influence into the other towers. We went into that spire that looks like an engine there." He points to the metal spire mentioned in the intro. "...and found part of a room that looked REALLY out of place, like it belong to a different spire. The fighting is bad enough, the real problem is well..."

Fayt sighs. "Everyone here is a chaos magic. you know about the spell surges I have? how my magic sort of overloads and does weird stuff when I use too much? Well if you'll notice the storm brewing below us? it's a spell surge, a BIG one. all thier fighting is feeding it and If we can't stop that..." Fayt shudders. "It'll eventually go off and I'm not sure we want to know what happens next."

Staren has posed:
Staren blinks. "An... entire world of chaos mages?" Staren considers that. "Is there any way to... to /dissipate/ your surges? Even if we stop that one from growing, what about all the power already in it?"

Kirito has posed:
Kirito's wings appear. At the same time, he glances over his shoulder and gives Double Fault a solemn nod. His eyes show fear equal to his resolution, though. After all, Kirito's just chosen to throw away the peaceful life he won when Oberon was defeated.

"So we're sitting on a volcano getting ready to blow. Even if we stop the conflicts, will that dissipate? ...hmm... I'm leaving this to your judgement. It's your node. Magic's not really my strong suit..." But beating the crap out of things with swords and paying attention is, hence why he's asking these alert questions.

"As for the Trio, Eureka's right. They might be just trying to keep the current situation going as long as possible for the OPPOSITE reasons... chaos, not stability. So, where are we heading first?"

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron nods to Fayt's explanation. Magic isn't his sphere of experience, but he knows of Fayt's spell surges, and the odd effects that they usually cause. And he also knows that cloud would be a /massive/ spell surge, and would probably kill someone if it went off. "I see," he notes. He doesn't add anything else though, because he doesn't really know how wild, errant magic could be dissipated.

Or maybe he does. "...I wonder if a Summoner from Spira could ease it. It may not exactly be a soul, but pyreflies are made to hold energy..." It's a long shot, but it deserves to be mentioned, just in case. "It's probably not useful here and now, but something to consider for later."

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe has been here the whole time she really has been she's just been looming in the backgorund with her own partner Tizona. She's fallen in step with Fayt at this point anf is smiling a little bit as she looks at him.

"Well they aint' screaming blood for the blood god. So I can deal with this sort of Chaos, I think."

She seem to be in a good enough mood as she looked over to Kirito and Auron glad to see them and even Staren as well.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"It is a force of nature, like a natural disaster, not some... Clumsy B-list drama villain." Maugris says, spitting at the idea of blood for the blood god. "As for the dissipation, we get to that problem when it's time, not before. Fayt still has to find and stop the agitators who perpetuate this. And for that, we need to begin our search."

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
Fayt nods to Maugris. "Right." then he looks to the group. "Follow me, I don't know if there's anything outside the spires besides us right now, but just in case we should stick together." That said, Fayt would pick a direction, and head off. "The bridges connecting everyone makes getting around fairly easy and we can see spires for quite a distence here. So if we keep moving and keep an eye out this shouldn't take too long."

Staren has posed:
Staren gives a blank stare to Kirito. "I never said anything about their motives. But I, too, doubt they have the best intentions. ...Should we split up to look for the spires? Use our speed and flight? Or is it not safe to split up?"

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe says "Perhaps here but that's an interesting way to put it. She follows along and thinks for a moment as she looks to Kirito for a moment.

"Your daughter's adorable, Kirito. Just so you know."

She now ponders.

"I'm against splitting up it never ends well in my experiance."

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron returns the look from Tomoe and the nod from Kirito with a nod of greeting, though he remains silent. Maugris's words get his attention, and he confirms calmly, "As I said, something to consider for later. Does no good to dissipate it until the ones responsible stop adding to it." He nods to Fayt's statement and follows the line of people heading out. Staren's question gets a look, and Auron notes, "Fayt mentioned he's not sure there's anything here besides us, and splitting up would be a bad idea since we don't know what's around."

Kirito has posed:
Kirito offers Tomoe and Auron both nods, followed by Staren. He's also glad that Fayt's got his other allies here. If Asuna was also with the group, that'd be great...

But he's kind of glad she isn't. It's bad enough the risk is THIS bad. "Yui?"

Light swirls by his shoulder, and the tiny Navigation Pixie appears! "W-wah! We're really high up, papa!" And she doesn't like the storm brewing down below. She flitters about, taking stock of who's about, and eventually flutters out in front of Fayt! "Mr. Ravus, this is your Node?"

Kirito folds his arms. "If you can keep an eye out like normal, Yui, that'd be great." Going unspoken: Fayt is kind of like a glass cannon in a few ways, so they need to look out for him.

Yui twirls about and snaps a salute. "Understood, papa!" Smiling brightly she floats back over to Kirito and takes up residence in his coat pocket.

At the same time, Kirito's wings come alive and carry him after Fayt. He seems to prefer this slow motion to walking, and zips about to scout the area from the air and see if he can spot anything interesting!

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Progressing along the spires is a profoundly strange sight. It's easy to navigate, but there are a fair number of environmental hazards when one gets too close to some of those spires, apparently whether or not they're hazardous is entirely up to the owner's whims and there's a LOT of whims at play here. More spire variety, in themes, in size... It's an incredible variety of aesthetics on display.

"Auron's probably right here." His sword says, dryly. "Besides, there's the nostalgia value, you know? Gotta go back to the old ways of walking around behind the party leader in single file." What is it even talking about? It's laughing a bit now. "Don't worry, kiddos, we don't have a time limit, let's stick to the safe and sure bet. Best to be patient here."

There'll be a lot of trudging around, and the adventuring guards who are here will find themselves primarily useful for dealing with the hostile terrain that comes up in some of the shorter routes or more absolute roadblocks; Kirito should find his skills put to good use cutting away the various hazards, while Tomoe is going to be needed for more mobile tanking, and Auron for stationary tanking, of the assorted effects and even, at times, traps that some of the spires have on their exteriors.

Eventually, a pair of matching Spires will be seen! A blue and gray submarine-themed one is currently in the process of converting a neighbor from what looks like some sort of skyscraper. That means someone lost theirs, and only recently! Might be worth looking inside, or around for the other mage?

Staren has posed:
Staren looks at the towers. "So... This guy just took down his neighbor, so now we go talk to him? Is there any reason to expect him or her to be friendly? ...Is there anything we can expect at /all/, or is it just... chaos as a recurring theme, here?"

Kirito has posed:
"So, Fayt? Why do the masters of the spires war on each other? What can they gain from it?" Surely they have a motivation right? Kirito's scratching his cheek. He's steeled his nerves up for this, and there's deep resolve burning in him again after countless months of half-assing the necessary fighting spirit. Yeah, he's gotten rusty, and that's a shame, but it ends now.

    He has his reasons.

    He spots the matching spires.

    "That looks interesting!"

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron sends a look at Suchiru. He may or may not know what the sword is talking about, but he smirks nonetheless. "Guardianship is a full-time job," he jokes back at Suchiru as he follows the group. Kirito points out something interesting, and Auron looks up. One spire seems to be taking over another one. Well, that's a good sign. Or a bad sign. Either way, it's what they were looking for.

To Staren, he notes, "If we don't present a direct threat to their ownership of the towers, maybe they won't feel threatened enough to attack us. I wouldn't bank anything important on that, but we can hope." He does, however, look to Fayt, with an eyebrow raised, as if asking for confirmation.

Staren has posed:
Staren looks at Auron and tilts his head to one side slightly. "Oh. I'm sure a party of well-armed Elites escorting the person whose node it is could not possibly be construed as a threat." He deadpans.

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe looks back to Auron for a moment before she contiunes on.

"Yes it's a bad idea in my experiance it's funny how fiction seems to be so very right about that isn't it??"

The Salamander seems to be very amused fgor a moment and move head getting the Mournding wall out and her blade ready as she goes after all she's the tank today.

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
Fayt's eyes go wide as soon as he sees the two towers. "...crap. that looks recent." He looks to ther others. "Alright, We'll check the skyscraper first. Everyone keep an eye out. If the mage in there is still alive that means we've got at most untill that tower is fully converted before the collector shows up!" Unless someone stops him, he starts to run towards the spire.

If Fayt's lucky, the tower will be empty and he can simply go bug the owner of the submarine spire questions.

Fayt's not going to be lucky, is he?

Staren has posed:
Staren takes a deep breath and sighs. He deploys his proto-abstractum armor and his wings and takes to the air, speeding towards the tower that's in the process of being converted.

Auron (236) has posed:
"You're thinking with logic," Auron notes to Staren. "That may very well not apply here. But we should be careful regardless." He's sure everyone will anyway, but yeah. A nod to Tomoe. But he doesn't have time to reply, since Fayt's running at the tower. He'll follow, but he'll likely be bringing up the rear. Not only does he not have any more than human speed to run at, he's actually kind of a slow runner.

Kirito has posed:
Oh well, he can try again. "Faaaayt." Kirito hovers out in front of Fayt, wings thrumming rapidly to keep him aloft even as he heads to the towers. "Why do the tower lords go after each other's towers anyway?"

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Entering into the skyscraper brings the group to what appears to be some kind of office-space-styled interior, mixed with the harsh, metallic militarism of a submarine as it invades. Cubicles are being eaten by jagged, slowly-advancing metal while harsh white fluorescent light slowly turns to dark red tones of underwater craft illumination.

The interior is fairly large and wide, wider than the exterior is. Exploration eventually comes to an executive's office; obviously, a CEO-styled chaos mage would make his home here. And one does. A tall man with a long white beard and a well-styled suit-robe combination, sitting in a large office that is densely packed with paperwork.

Or, rather, he DID make his home here, previously. He appears to recently have had something hasily removed from his chest cavity, with little regard for other materials that inhabited it. Red lightning softly crackles around the wound while he's crumpled limply in a corner, seeping a puddle into the floor. There was a very brief struggle.

Other parts of the tower are still accessible, and there's much to be investigated here in the office for the group to find.

Kirito has posed:
Yui flinches and dives into Kirito's pocket upon seeing what seems to be a corpse. It's too horrid to gaze at directly. And it's not like Kirito isn't flinching either. That's brutal and weird. Walking into somewhere, seeing that... "...too late...." Well, he knew that since they saw the tower being changed.

"I'm going to make a guess and say that territory means power in some way...." He states quietly. Then, seeing the fallen mage again....

He quivers a litle. "....Is he really dead?" With such a weird wound, he can't be 100% sure! Nothing's as it seems with Chaos magic, after all.

Staren has posed:
Staren winces when he finds the mage, then adopts a more neutral, slightly annoyed expression. "Well. So much for that." He looks to Fayt. "So, now we go talk to the guy who did this and hope he doesn't just try to do the same thing to us, huh?"

Auron (236) has posed:
As he notes the dead body, Auron frowns sharply. It's what passes for a wince when he's in 'business' mode. Then reaches to pull Suchiru from its sheath. He doesn't quite know what might await them here. Now, his lack of depth perception will not serve him well for investigative purposes. It's better for seeing movement. But here he makes an effort; if this is an office, there should be files somewhere, right? He looks around for a filing cabinet or computer. Though he silently hopes for the former rather than the latter, since he's not so good with computers....

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Investigation of the office does find files. Primarily documenting a variety of stock purchases that seem to be euphamisms for attempting to acquire territory in other spires... And a small amount of effort to potentially create what are officially referred to as business partnerships but which seem to actually be attempts to form some kind of alliance in absolute secrecy with several others. Most notably, not their submariner neighbor.

The mage's body continues to crackle with that strange red light around the wound. Whether or not the mage is still alive has yet to be properly investigated, but there's clearly still some kind of active magic here.

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
Fayt looks to Kirito, and answers his question, frowning. "I have no idea."

Inside hte tower, Fayt frowns at the mage. "Apparently the collector showed up already." Shuddering, he looks to the others. "I think we can still get soemthing here. Check the paperwork, maybe som of the cubicles, I'll... try to take a look at what's up with the mage's wound."

That said, Fayt slips on his goggles and kneels down over the dead(?) mage, holding up Maugis. "Hey, if I tried to enchant something on him, could you use that to try and get a look at what that energy is? I could probably use Ainsley's cartridge if it'd help."

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe is moving and pauses t the sci fi look. It reminds her of the theme on her mobile phone back in Tokyo really. She thinks no more on it as she move ahead and tries to keep moving up on point her blde4s' ready if she needs it and sh looks at him for a moment.

"Hummm that could be an idea Fayt and I still don't get this Cartridge thing really..."

Staren has posed:
Staren shrugs. "Very well. Eureka." He loads the Tier I Ran cartridge and begins searching. "So much paperwork... how do we know which of it is /important/? If only someone had narrative-sensitive scanners..." Still, glancing at papers, he tries to find anything that sounds major, rather than pointless bureaucratic busywork. "Negotiations... he was trying to work with other mages?"

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron will share what information he finds. Looking to the dead mage, he notes to Fayt's words, "Is this the usual results of a visit from the Collector?" It makes sense, since the mage seems to be missing something. Whatever it is the mage has lost, it's been 'collected'. The mage's heart maybe? He waits for whatever might happen, placing the point of the sword on the ground gently.

Kirito has posed:
That sizzling light. Kirito's on guard against it. It is the second thing warding him away from investigating the apparent corpse. The first being... geeze, who actually WANTS to touch the dead?

The boy gulps. Since nobody else seems to be doing so, though...

Gathering his resolve, Kirito approaches the fallen mage and reaches out with Lucent Arrester to gently tap his shoulder with the flat, to try and provoke some response. If that doesn't work... he'll overcome his reservations, and check for a pulse. Or at least warmth. That's hard, over FullDive, but whether or not he's breathing - even shallowly - should be doable...

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"I can't seem to..." Maugris says, full of agitation and unease. "I can't get ahold of it. The enchantment medium." The gloves make a frustrated, flustered noise. "There's something that is already enchanting it. Or..." The gloves now try to draw on a fair bit of Fayt's power here.

What Fayt will be able to detect was that some sort of chaotic power source was previously within this mage, and has, as one might expect, been removed. Its chaotic residual effect is what resists the enchantment. Close enough to the information-gathering stuff one needs here.

"This certainly seems like something done by someone called a 'Collector'. I can't imagine--"

Then Kirito taps the mage's shoulder and he lurches awake, gurgling something through a mouthful of blood. "Ap... appo... ment... appointment... get out... need... appo..." The words barely manage to struggle out of his throat wetly. He doesn't seem to be able to move, but it looks like he's dying of exhaustion more than any actual wound he has. The flickering, crackling red electrical arcing subsides slightly more with each word.

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron's in action as soon as it becomes apparent that the mage isn't dead. He approaches the mage, reaching into his coat for a vial of bright green stuff. This he concentrates his qi into, and it shatters into glittering dust in his hand. A green healing aura will be aimed in the general direction of the dying mage. Auron doesn't know if it's going to work, but better to waste a rare X-Potion and fail than to save it and not save someone who could have been saved by it, right?

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe Says "I'm not that good with anything more than throwing fire or light about when it comes to magic."

She admits before contiuning on and keeps looking about to see anything she might be able to pick up and then she pulls back.

"What the hell....Do we have a healer?!"

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
Fayt looks to Staren. "Look for appointments. if we can find who he was talking to, we know where we need to go next!" He then looks back to Maugris. "Still alive... He's missing a power source though, don't think I could replace that but..." and then Auron uses a potion. "Maugris, I have plenty of mana at the moment. If I dump a LOT of power on this guy RIGHT NOW, would that be enough to power him again? at least enough to get him somewhere? give him a chance in hell of not dieing?"

Staren has posed:
Staren's ears perk up at the gasp. He turns. The mage is /still alive/?! Wasn't his heart ripped out?? Staren grabs a healing potion and starts to run over, but Auron and Fayt are quicker on the draw. He slows to a couple of steps, thinking. "Al... alright." He's not a doctor. He searches the CEO's desk for anything like an appointment book.

Kirito has posed:
"Are you forgetting about something, Tomoe?" Kirito says without turning to look at her. He makes a gesture though that she should recognize. A mock 'pull up your menu.'

Yeah. She has an inventory. Doesn't she have healing potions?

"O-oi, pull yourself together. Business hours are up for the day." Kirito doubts that's going to convince the mage to come to his senses, but hey... he's alive! That's something!

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Auron isn't able to successfully heal him. However, he IS able to successfully determine the nature of his life. Specifically: He's sustained by chaos magic! One could say his MP has replaced his HP. His body's wounds completely heal, but he stil seems to be dying! It's educational, at least.

"Well, that explains that." There's a firm look from Maugris to Fayt. "I'm ready to try it if you want to." The gloves say, simply, with professional tones instead of the usual haughtiness. "I'll do whatever I can to make it work."

Meanwhile, Staren's finding an appointment book. Nothing of note, just a lot of nonsense that vaguely looks office-ish! Wait, no, there's one appointment he made with a nearby mage, complete with some directions! Probably part of the alliances he was trying to build. Maybe they can get some information from whoever that is?

Fayt Ravus (319) has posed:
Fayt nods, slowly. "Everyone... please get ready, I might need some help after this." and then, suddenly. Fayt puts both his hands on the mages shoulders, and focuses.

Maugris might be in for a bit of a scare here as Fayt basically starts to dump power into the other mage, and the pale trader isn't holding back, at all. He isn't paying the tiniest bit of attention to how much mana he's losing, or even careing as a surge starts to build up and strange, multi-ccolored electricty stats to dance around his head. He's got one goal: get this guy moving again, and to do that Fayt is going to dump power like a madman untill he's either unconcious, someone stops him, or that surge goes off and forces him to stop.

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron nods, though not to anyone in particular. It's a nod of understanding. An Ether would probably have been more useful. Too late now, though. Auron has ONE Ether. One. Because he's not a mage, and tends to sparingly use his qi energy rather than use it as a major point of attack. Instead of using it on the mage, though, Auron uses it on Fayt. Hopefully it'll give Fayt enough to help the mage.

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe had a total derping moment at this point as she goes to briung up her memory and goes to get the potion she's going to give it a tryi on the striken mage. She will take a mana potion given she is a hybrid caster she has one and attemps to see if it /does/ anything for him.

Kirito has posed:
All Kirito can do is stand by while Fayt does his thing. He's ready to catch the mage, or maybe shake him, or something, depending onh ow this goes. "This is a really bad time to know so little about magic." He grumbles. But what can he do except wait and hope?

Staren has posed:
Staren blinks. "There's an appointment in here, soon... and it says how to get there." But... the effort to save the man seems to require something of Fayt. Staren looks to Eureka. "Anything we can do to help Fayt or Maugris?"

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Dumping magic - not enchantment - into him turns out to be the right idea. Maugris is a little wary and concerned about this, but with the soft blue glow surrounding those gloves, it's not going to be something that the group can't manage to pull off, as waves of light rush off of Fayt.

The man's own stores of mana are being increased; Fayt's hard dump gets him out of critical condition, but other contributions of mana are going to be needed to keep him alive. While this seems to put him in a state where he's not DYING anymore, it's putting him under. The man's slowly being rendered unconscious, despite still mumbling something about appointments and suchlike.

Staren sprays the book with nanites and delegates Dawn to do the gruntwork -- in the more immediate time, he'll help Fayt. He fishes a spare Spirit Battery out of his bag, as well as the backup battery in his magitech staff. "Rotate them into forms Fayt can draw on. Fayt, you can draw on my mana, too." Although, as he's not a proper mage, he won't have much, but it's something.
