Cast of Characters: 359, 541

Marrik (541) has posed:
So this is Midway? As Marrik slowly rode through on a motorcycle that was itself a world war two museum piece he frowned at how things were lain out. He'd spent a little over five years back before he unified living and working in Newport, so he considered himself reasonably sure once he got here finding his way wouldn't be hard. This of course was a mistake, and so after arguments with the doll sized pixie that was riding on the bike's gas tank he stopped to ask directions. Then he had to ask again once he actually got to the residential section.

Eventually his bike parked close enough so he could walk the rest of the way to where Elasaid's forge was supposed to be. He dressed, from the perspective of the locals, in a fairly old fashioned brown suit. No really the whole thing from shirt and waistcoat, to jacket, were different shades of dirt. Why wear something so formal to somewhere getting dirty would be inevitable? Who knew! At the very least he stood out even if you couldn't see the mismatched eyes or the biker pixie riding on his shoulder.

Elasaid Hood (359) has posed:
Elasaid can be found easily. Broad scottish rings out in song as the ring of hammer hitting metal fills the local air. Tis an old ditty, sung in gaelic to help speed along the work being done. She's outside, the 'Forge' area under an overhanging roof section, supported by metal poles.

The hiss of metal being quenched greets Marrik as he strides up, and the natually loud, not-shouted greeting of "Hello there!" meets his approach as well, the copper-haired woman brushing back some errant strands from her face as she peers over her anvil.

Marrik (541) has posed:
Marrik smiled warmly at the sight of Elasaid. "Miss Elasaid," His own tone was warm, though quieter than the ship maiden's. "Interesting music you sing."

The pixie at his shoulder giggled and whistled a few bars from the next bit of the song, or possibly the beginning, which earned her am eyebrow from Marrik before the man pulled a couple rolled up papers from his coat to be examined. "I have secured Fayt's services for enchanting these, but I'd rather this first set be fitted rather than a generic."

If examined each paper would contain sketches and measurements for either a pair of knee high boots or elbow length gauntlets. Each had decorative scrollwork that whirled and curved about and yet seemed to suggest the bone structure beneath; meaning knees, elbows, hands, and feet were practically covered in scrollwork while the long bones had intertwining braided patterns along the long bones. If one looked at the side notes there were a series of glyphs scribbled along with where on the inside of each piece they should be etched.

"I do have a budget I would like to stay under, but I would rather you tell me what is needed on your end and if my design is too unreasonable before discussing price."

Elasaid Hood (359) has posed:
Elasaid chuckles a little. "Tis th'songs of me homeland, lad." she replies, before looking at the little fairy curiously. "Ye know a wee bit of Gaelic lass?" she asks curiously, before Marrik brings out those drawings.

"Lemme have a looksee at 'em, lad." she says, peering at the drawings curiously. "Th'basic forgin' I c'n do... this detail work'll hafta come from someone else." she remarks tapping one of the boots.

Marrik (541) has posed:
Marrik nodded, "Figured that might be the case," Marrik sounded almost apologetic, "But the base designs get me closer to done."

Meanwhile the biker leather clad pixie merely grinned at Elasaid, "We get around and about and hardly anyone bothers to look for little 'ole me." She flitted off of Marrik's shoulder and buzzed over to Elasaid on dragonfly-like wings. "Nice to meet you, I'm sparks. I help keep bonehead over there from tripping over himself."

Marrik gave a dismissive snort at the comment, "She's been a solid friend and partner." Then he added, "I lived half a decade in a port town. Newport wasn't huge or a major shipping hub but still. Figur layout would have been similar." Nnnnooooope!

Elasaid Hood (359) has posed:
Elasaid nods back at Marrik. "Aye. I'll jes' need te get measurements, an' then I can get te work." she replies, before looking to Sparks. "It's nice te meet ya, lassie." she says, holding a hand out for the pixie to land on, if she wants to.

As Marrik says that about the port town, she just lets out a good natured gaffaw. "Oh, lad.. This isnae some port town, tis a military base. I grew up in a port town, Glasgae's where me Patron were built."

Marrik (541) has posed:
Sparks gave a small bow before landing on Elasaid's hand. "I can't comment on structure but this Gaelic soundsa lot like what the wee folk back home use." She paced for a bit on Elasaid's palm and smiled.

Marrik meanwhile frowned, "Would explain why it doesn't feel like a real town to me." Then as explanation he offered, "Doesn't feel properly lived in. I mean it has character, but it screams 'utility' more than 'home', which makes sense." His frown lessened slightly before he spoke again. "If you do not mind, is Hood always with you?" Because he was afraid of how he'd react to a battleship spirit he'd closed off his more arcane senses, wouldn't that be rude? Botch a business deal due to gawking like a country idiot?

Elasaid Hood (359) has posed:
Elasaid nods to Sparks. "Aye, tis an' old language, the Faere Folk o'legends back home created it as a way te talk to me ancestors." she replies, before attempting to gently pet the pixie on the head with a single finger. "Ye a bonnie wee lass." she offers, before looking back to Marrik.

"Aye, but it's becomin' 'home' te meself an' t'other Maidens... we live 'ere more'n we see 'ome." at his question though, she nods. "She's always wi'me, lad. Jes, nae ver'a talkative."

Marrik (541) has posed:
Marrik mmed thoughtfully. "I... didn't want to be rude if Hood wasn't feeling chatty." He looked about the forge and hrmed thoughtfully. "Do yoy work in copper or bronze? Few of my suppliers occasionally need metalwork done, but given their natures steel is a no-go. They tend to pay in objects or favors, though this one goblin keeps giving me gemstones." Shrug.

Sparks giggled at Elasaid, "I'm just a pixie, pretty low on the genersl pecking order, but being small has its advantages," her voice was chipper as she seemed to vanish. Her weight could still be felt, and any shadows cast were easy to spot, but Sparks herself couldn't be seen.

Elasaid Hood (359) has posed:
"Iron an' Steel are me main things. If ye need other stuff doin' me Dad's a better metal worker'n I am." Elasaid responds. "I'm still learnin' th'craft though." she adds.

She blinks at Sparks vanishes on her palm. "Tis a neat wee trick ye got there, lass."

Marrik (541) has posed:
"Saved me more times than I can count," Sparks's voice came from a spot a little above Elasaid's palm just before she faded back into view. "Mind if I stick around and watch you work?" She looked about and pointed to what looked like an out of the way perch. "Doesn't have to be for what Marrik's working on. Just sometimes like to watch folk."

Marrik snorted, "Don't mind her, harmless really most times." He pulled sandwich from his pocket and took a bite, "Ah well. Think your father would be up to taking the occasional commission? His choice on what he takes or doesn't. Simply figure while I'm here nose about y'know?"

Elasaid Hood (359) has posed:
Elasaid shrugs. "Knock yeself out lass. I dunnae mind, as long as ye stay outta th'way." she replies to Sparks. Then gets herself a measuring tape to take some measurements of Marrik's limbs for the armour.

"I'll haftae ask 'im nex'time I see 'im, lad, but I'll get back ta ye wi'is answer. I'm sure 'e'd love te get back in th'proverbial saddle."

Marrik (541) has posed:
Marrik nodded as he made what motions needed for measurements. Sparks meanwhile found an out of the way spot to watch. "That is all I ask then ma'am. Thank you for hearing a farmboy out."
