Heavensturn 2020
Date of Scene: 30 December 2019
Location:
Synopsis: Heavensturn 2020 seems to go better than the 2019 version, if only that there's more Warriors of Light to enjoy it
Cast of Characters: N'raha Tia, Alruna Greengate, 7180, Yang Xiao Long, Tomoe

N'raha Tia has posed:
Welcome to The Mist. It's a coastal city out on the edge of Limsa Lominsa, one of the three largest cities in Eorzea. It's a place for Free Companies and Notable Heroes to find a place to live, to stake their claim on the world and take part in the fine tradition of Home Ownership. And it's here that the Party Is Taking Place.

Then again, if you wanted the REALLY big parties, you'd be looking elsewhere in the Mist. It's both Starlight and Heavesturn still, and so the parties for the end of one are sort of slip sliding into the other. The big big Free Companies are at their big estates, shooting off fireworks, getting drunk in the streets and generally being rather bawdy. But Raha's party? It's down on the coast at the beach. The currents are warm along the Mist, which keeps the chill of winter away from the place, which means that light clothes are still proper attire, it seems.

There's chairs, there's umbrellas, there's a set of large bonfires, and there's food and booze. And there's a Raha, and a very tall Hyur lady, easily a foot taller than the cat man, dressed in a smart looking swimsuit and sarang in Maelstrom colors, fussing and messing around with the spread.

Alruna Greengate has posed:
It's a good thing Alruna is an adventurer, the way she's been packing away cakes and sweets of all kinds during the Starlight festivals, which are now blending into the Heavensturn ones. Her actual contribution was to deliver various grains, fruits and other foodstuffs when a shortage was discovered by the Culinarian's Guild, so she feels /richly deserving/ of the largesse being put on. If all the sugar has affected her weight she's not showing it yet, with that worryingly skimpy orange two-piece outfit she's wearing.

She's reclining languidly in a hammock strung between two poles, a bottle of...something, hanging lazily from her fingers as she faces away from the bonfires and watches distant fireworks in the night sky over the city with a thousand-malm gaze.

Amelris Belthrone (7180) has posed:
This is truly the best way to celebrate Starlight.

Another Miqo'te is waltzing at his own pace at the party in the Mists. It is, afterall, where all Adventurer in the Lomisian area go to gather and party. He's wearing a loose white shirt currently with some red shorts with some diamond-colored yellow batterns, with some sandals at his feet. He's been mingling with the folks there, chatting, eating away and drinking at the others, while having some fun diving into the beach's waters.

Meanwhile, the Emerald Carbunckle has been also mingling. With the other carbunckles of other adventurers, laying in a pile, where the sun used to be, taking a 'nap'.

N'raha Tia has posed:
Raha, for his part shuffles over towards Alruna with a smile as the fellow adventurer soaks in the Spirit of Heavensturn, and he hands her a bottle of rolanberry fizz. "I gotta admit, that it's nice having more people from the Scions here again. I know a lot of you were off in the outer reaches of Aldenard doing Stuff so..." He bows his head. "Though I don't... remember you on the roster, Miss...?" The question trails off...

The Very Tall Hyur lady calls out. "Meatballs are ready!" The accent is unmistakably Limsan, born and bred, the Common Style. This here's a salty lady. A salty lady doing the cooking. She waves to Amelris, and whistles. "Down here, Mister Red Mage! Scions party is down here!"

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang Xiao Long approaches from the directionn of the warpgate. She's wearing some kind of traditional garment from Mistral. It's effectively a Yukata. The right sleeve is empty, but the outfit is set oddly, showing she's got that limb inside, while some bandages show around the exposed part of her neck. She waves her uninjured hand in greeting as she approaches the group. "Hey guys!" she offers, giving those she's met before a big grin, and those she's about to meet formally an even bigger one. "Name's Yang. Nice t'meetchya."

Amelris Belthrone (7180) has posed:
"Of course!" The Red Mage in question calls over as he approach. Mooching off other adventurer, which is to say visiting other adventurers he knew before making his way to the Scion party, has been something of a day!

"Thanks you for the invitation, Ms.! It has certainly been a while since we had a full gathering of the Scions here." Amelris comments as he approaches, looking at N'raha and Alruna talking but, more particularly, Tomoe and Yang coming by. Ahhhh, yes, newcomers and new acquintances! "Welcome, welcome, ladies! Wonderful you could make it to the beaches of Lominsa! Enjoy the sand, ignore the jellyfishes in the sea!"

Amelris' voice, for that matter, do have a slight Lominsian accent to it, perhaps punctuated back to the surface after hanging back around the city for a few moments.

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe has been to Mist before and the party N'Raha had thrown had been fun, so she'd taken up invitation she was wearing light clothing tall, purple hair and honestly could be mistaken for an Elezen. Though she was more powerfully built than they tended ot be and the neck was a bit shorter. She would also be carrying something some sort of food basket with her. She had a big old grin on her face and called out "Hey N'Raha!"

She would pause to look at Alruna she was new to her and grinned.

"Hello one of N'Raha's friends I take it? I'm Tomoe the Iron Lily."

She'd also take note of Amelris as well. Then came Yang and the woman grinned wider.

"Good to see you Yang."

Tomoe's accent would be very strange to the locals and it's likely she's an off-world friend of Raha's.

Alruna Greengate has posed:
Alruna turns over in her hammock when she hears someone approaching, coming back to the here and now. She gives N'raha a beaming smile. "Alruna." The empty bottle falls onto the sand with a hollow *clonk*, and she takes the proffered drink happily. She hadn't witnessed the devastation wrought on Limsa personally, but she knew in a detached way that it had happened. Seeing the city-states so full of life after the fact has done her soul a world of good. She stands up, towering nearly as much over N'raha as her fellow Hyuran doing the meatballs.

"And thank you for inviting me out." Scions... they're not the organisation she remembers, but Minfilia sure knew how to pick her right out of the crowd and draw her back into the fray. "I'm pretty new," she says to Tomoe, taking a swig from the bottle N'raha handed her. "But I hope he'll count me as one soon enough."

N'raha Tia has posed:
Miss Pirate Lady snaps off a salute to Amelris. "Storm Sergeant Alicia Bitters! Captain Raha said we wasn't getting nobs, sir, so I didn't come all fancy." she looks down at her sarong, with the bits of stains of food on it, and shrugs. "But, it's a party, inn't?" She twirls in place, and then cracks open the tras of the meatballs and the little spinach puffs and the big tray of rice cakes and the fizzy drinks and the wine and... well. There's a buffet, folks. Raha's probably responsible.

The axcatte wiggles his ears up at the Paladin. "And yeah. Swordmates are quick friends, if not given other reasons to fret over intentions..." Oh hells, there's Amerlris. Raha pauses his chat with Alruna with a wink. "Hold that thought."
And with that, he shuffles over to Amelris, and claps a hand around the fellow Miqo'te's shoulder, looking to Yang and Tomoe. "Miss Xaio Long, Miss Lily, allow me to introduce my cousin Amelris Belthrone, Red Mage, Fancy Pants and Showoff." A serious look. "Don't listen to a damn word, he's just trying to charm you, he's a cad and a scoundrel.
He claps the Keeper on the back, smiles broadly, and then scampers over to snag a tray of mochi.

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang grins back at Tomoe, "Heya. How's it shakin'?" she asks, then chuckles as N'raha does his thing with Amelris. "Cad /and/ Scoundrel. Sounds like we'll get along just fine." she remarks at N'raha's back with a teasing grin; she then turns back to Amelris and offers her uninjured hand. "Yang Xiao Long, Huntress from the world of Remnant." she offers. "I saw you fight yesterday. Pretty fancy stuff. You kinda reminded me of my teammate, Weiss Schnee. She's all fancy with her Glyph Semblence and Dust and stuff. And she uses a rapier."

Amelris Belthrone (7180) has posed:
The Red Mage give a bigger grin at the Sergeant, giving her a salute in return. "Storm Corporal Belthrone, Sergeant. It IS a party to be sure. Nice view, good food, good conversations, great drinks. I'd say I think we're due for a good time here."

He's interrupted by N'raha's very causal and friendly introduction, the Red Mage giving off a cough. "Why now, I protest, I am no such cad and scoundrel, 'cousin'." The Miqo'te replies, his ears wriggling semi-irritably. Still, he's grinning and taking it well in stride. Once free, his tail wiggles and shakes off some of the sand, tilting his head at Yang. "Wonderful to meet both of you, then. Hm. Truly, some other with similarity in style, then? That would be wonderful to meet, sometimes, then."

The Carbunckle remains in the pile. It is shiny and sleeping.

Alruna Greengate has posed:
Alruna gives a hearty thumbsup and takes another swig from her bottle. Alruna then gives Amelris a grin in passing as she saunters over to the food to snag a plate and start piling it high with meatballs and spinach puffs. She has to stop eating the sweet stuff sometime, after all.

"He's a dashing dancer. Has some problems with the backstep though." she says, speaking mostly clearly through a mouthful. Biiig grin now, daring Amelris to defend himself.

N'raha Tia has posed:
N'raha just smiles happily, in return to Amelris, and then wiggles his ears. "Well. He's... not *really* my cousin, it's just that all us loner male miqo'te have some sort of solidarity, in my opinion." A shrug, and he pops a piece of mochi in his mouth, as he finds a chair to camp out in.

Yang Xiao Long has posed:
Yang nods. "She's been busy in Vacuo lately. Something about a giant Grimm burrowing through the sands of the desert and ambushing caravans. Messy." she shrugs. "Not a subject for a party though." she looks over at Alruna, "Speaking of backstep... that was a pretty impressive fight with Sarra. She's no pushover, little on the squishy side but man if she can't hit hard." she says this like she knows firsthand just how hard the Princess can hit if she connects well with that hammer.

She does the same introduction to the Hyur as she did to her Miqo'te. "Name's Yang Xiao Long. I'm a Huntress."

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe replies firs tto Alruna with a grin.

"I know how that goes well welcome either way." She'll look to Amelris and grins.

"I don't feel like fighting the local wildlife so no worries about that!"

Then N'Raha introduces her formally and she grins a bit.

"More family?"

She seems down with this and looks Amelris over again.

"Oh so he's one of those cousins."

There's a bit of laughter from her over the comments about her cousin. She does catch a glance at the sleeping carbuncle which is utterly adorable to her but she has enough sense to let it rest.

She'll take the basket of food she brought and set it out, rum balls and other assorted baked goods made up most of it with some ham of some sort or another. She then finds a chair to crash in.

"Ah family by choice so to speak?"

Yang then brings up a fight with Sarra.

"You fought the Princess? That's got to be an experiance and a half there."

She will also take a moment to introduce herself to the Hyur as well.

"Tomoe The Iron Lily Second in command of the Gate Crashers Union Guild."

Amelris Belthrone (7180) has posed:
Amelris have no idea what a 'grim' is supposed to be, but by the sound of it, he hardly thinks that they are nice little thing to busy yourself with.

"I see. Well! I look forward to meeting her, sometimes--" He stops mid-sentence to cough loudly once, giving Alruna something of an embarassed evil eye. "Indeed, let's just say it is hard to know where you are going without eyes on your back. I'm afraid I didn't see much of your own battle, as I was busy with the dark youth Riku. Quite a handful."

Alruna Greengate has posed:
"Al-" She stops, putting a finger to her mouth, and then burping. "Alruna. Greengate." the Highlander introduces herself to Yang.

"You were watching, hmm? Those bombs were nasty, but the hammer was worse." Alruna agrees. "Things certainly changed after Unification. I have a lot to learn about, so it was a solid learning experience." Her mouth is empty again. That's a problem, in her opinion, so she stuffs a spinach puff in it, holding out her plate for Yang or Tomoe to take something, smiling with her eyes at Amelris.

N'raha Tia has posed:
Raha helps Amelris and Yang. "When she says 'Grimm' think 'voidkin' only theirs are like... dark mirror versions of critters. Demon bears and smoke cats and stuff. All very nasty." He smiles back up at Alruna, and then finds another bottle. This one was a light mead, and he cracks it open to sip on it. "Mmmm! Turned out better than I thought it would."

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe says "The unification tens to turn everything on its head. Magic? Other species? Those were some of the biggest shocks to where I'm from to be honest. It does turn things on its head. Still, I made friends with people who have become like family and seen things that would have been only fiction before."

Amelris Belthrone (7180) has posed:
Some lights, well, lights up in Amelris' eyes. "Ahhhhhhhhh, I see. I could understand they were beasties not kind to deal with, in any case." The Miqo'te nods at Yang. "Quite unsettling, indeed!" He's trying very hard to not let Alruna's smiling gaze get to him. Good work, Paladin!

Alruna Greengate has posed:
Amelris has definitely left an impression on Alruna, if not the one he might've hoped for, heh.

Alruna finishes washing down her puff with another hearty swig from her bottle. "Mm. Learning about all kinds of new things. Hells, the weapons people were using on those forays into the...Labyrinth? That's the name they gave it, yes?"

She wanders, a mite unsteadily, towards a chair to take her ease again, flumping down into it heavily. "All manner of opportunities to learn about outlanders and their tools. And their beasts, and how they fight. When you've healed up," She nods at Yang's injured arm. "You should come on a trip into the Tower. Positively /crawling/ with voidkin and other nasties." She grins.

N'raha Tia has posed:
N'raha huffs a bit, and sits next to Alruna, sipping on his mead and pointing at the rest, his open shirt swaying a bit as he gesticulates with his bottle. "Yeah! YEAH! There's-" urp. "There's movement too. G'raha and that smug prick Nero have been making noise like they're getting ready to make a push on the central chamber of the Labyrinth. Something about... master controls or summat. Apparently the room they've got themselves now isn't adequate to make... pushes farther up the Tower."

Raha's green eyes narrow a bit, and he huffs. "And having more Watch members and others I can trust would... obviate a BUNCH of worries I got with the last crew I ran with."
He spits at the sand and makes a noise like 'bloody warlocks'.

Amelris Belthrone (7180) has posed:
"Oh hoooooooo??" Amelris' attention is caught at the sounds of the conversation between his fellow Eorzean adventurers. "Yes, good, I've been waiting to hear some more information on what actually happened, beyond some reports I've read." The Miqo'te comments, streeeeeeeetching over to snag some meat and a drink, his ears fluttering in the wind of the beach. "It IS interesting that it's starting to wake up so recently."

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe is going to get some food as well as she hears Nero brought up. "He reminds me of some people I have gamed with and huh? Part of why I'm there. The cash is nice but it's not really why I'm there. Raha you have helped out in the past and I'm happy to have your back in return.

"Get ready for some serious fighting if you come along. The last horror we fought /got/ back up. Who knows what could be causing it. It could be local or something from the multiverse. We'll have to dig deeper and find out won't we?"

With some food in hand she'll move back to her own chair to flop in.

Alruna Greengate has posed:
"About godsdamned time." Alruna nods, laying back comfortably and balancing her plate on her stomach. "That Garlean rubs me the wrong way." she mutters. Cid was...well, he was one thing, but Nero's aura of self-inflated superiority is just... /ugh/. All the stereotypes of Garleans rolled up into one man.

"The behemoth was a good fight, mind." she says. Gulp, gulp. "Got a... got lots of exercise with that one."

N'raha Tia has posed:
Raha makes a face at Alruna. "I fought him on the push through to stop Gaius and the Legion. He's no pushover but... by the GODS is he hung up on Cid. Do not, DO NOT mention Cid around him. Especially when he's working. He'lll... you'll never hear the end of it. Or else he'll like..."
He mimes fiddling with sunglasses. "...Do that annoying thing with his glasses where he acts like he knows something you don't or-" Burp.

Raha blinks a bit. "He's a smug arrogant prick. And I hate him."

Amelris Belthrone (7180) has posed:
"I'll very well take taht in mind! I certainly hope there will be some difficulty: the rewards, I'm sure, will be more than worth it to explore! Imagine! Allag RUINS that's been closed for CENTURIES!" Amelris exclaims excitedly. "All of this mess is incredible to investigate. As well as... well, solving the problems that lies at it's heart." He smiles at Tomoe, before leaning down against a chair comfortably, his tail limping.

"It's that fellow with the hammer, right?" Amelris asks.

Alruna Greengate has posed:
"Hear!" Alruna raises her bottle, smiling. "Confusion to highborne asses!" And then she has another drink. And a belch. And a meatball.

Alruna is not a highborne lady.

"IS there a problem?" she asks, her speech getting a little dulled by this point. "I thought we were just exploring the place because it's there and we can get in now thanks to that Tia's eye... G'raha. I mean G'raha."

N'raha Tia has posed:
The word 'Tia' doesn't rankle Raha as much as it once did, that's for sure. That said, N'raha snorts. "There's something more going on in there. And I think we're now trying to both... raid the place." He waves over with one hand... "And also stop whatever the hells is inside of it from doing... Allagan things like end the world or start a Calamity or summat."

Amelris correctly identifies Nero. "Yeah that's him, the... the hammer and the inferiority complex."

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe says "He really is a pick I will give you that and huh he was one of Gaius' troops? That could explain a lot."

She thinks back and mutters something about that crazy Bard. She'll look to Alruna for a moment and will join her in the toast as well.

She then gets a bit sober s she hears about end of the world.

"I don't wish to relive something like that again myself. I will keep in mind he's not helpless if things hit the fan though."

Amelris Belthrone (7180) has posed:
"Yes, I'm certain that's the only thing he feels inferior about." Amelris comments sharply, adjusting his shirt, then take a swig out of his bottle, lounging back against his seat. The word 'Tia' don't even get to him. Mostly because he's not one, to begin with, being a Keeper. "Delving into anything the Allag have made implies a certain amount of danger, just because of the leftovers they've left all around the realm."

He looks back at Tomoe, smiling. "I'd rather wish to avoid another Calamity. It wasn't nice to live through, trust me."

N'raha Tia has posed:
Raha frowns at Amelris, and then reaches over to clink his bottle against the Red Mage's. "Hear hear."

Amelris Belthrone (7180) has posed:
Amelris stoically nods, clinking the bottle with his fellow Miqo'te.

Alruna Greengate has posed:
Alruna gets real quiet at that, staring dully at her own knees for a few moments. Then she puts another meatball in her mouth, staving off contemplation. She's done enough of that tonight.

N'raha Tia has posed:
But before Deep Thinking can try and fight through the booze and the growing melancholy, there's a commotion from one of the large Free Companies down the beach. A pair of Lalafel are carrying a large crate out onto the sands, with a third carrying a lit sparkler. A massive crowd of mercenaries are hanging out on a overlooking patio, cheering and hooting... when the fireworks start. A little prematurely, because the smallfolk have to dump the box on the ground and run.

And boy are they something. Magical fireworks, alchemy with thaumaturgy thrown in for good measure. Moving displays, lights and colors bending over the top of The Mist like a twisting aurora.

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe says "I trust you on that." Tomoe noted

"I'll put it up there with the multiversal barf that happened a few years ago."

She now will try a bit more of the local food.

"This is just great." She's also had a long love of Seafood and given where they are? It is quite a good match for Tomoe's taste in food. She get a chance to look up at the fireworks and seems to like them.

"Magic I take it."

the Lalafel has got clear so there's nothing to worry about right?

Alruna Greengate has posed:
Alruna sits up, her (empty) plate sliding off her stomach, when she hears the commotion going on down the beach. Interest piqued, she waits expectantly when the tiny lalafells start running, and is not disappointed by the explosion of light and sound erupting from the crate.

She stands up, turning to follow a shimmering curtain of pastel light as it scatters its edge along the coastline. Taking a deep breath, she sighs happily. "'S enough for me tonight." she declares, leaning her (mostly empty) bottle against the chair. "I'm gonna go for a swim." And with that, she starts striding towards the water's edge.

Amelris Belthrone (7180) has posed:
"Close enough." Amelris comments, just taking it easy for now and watching the fireworks. "It's alchemy." He's a bit blunted on the dour conversation but he is picking back up, rallying quickly.

He watches, nodding at Alruna going off for a swim. She IS wearing a swimsuit, after all. T'would be a waste to not make full use of it. "Enjoy the water! I'm probably gonna join later! Water looks nice."

N'raha Tia has posed:
The plate falls in to the sand, and Sergant Bitters is right there to scoop it up and put it in a stack of dirties she's collecting. "'Ave a nice swim, miss! We'll be here to fish yer out if you needs it!"

Raha snorts a bit at the passing of the Paladin, and then he sighs, stretching out to look up at the fireworks. "And just think. We've got another... week of all this."

Tomoe has posed:
Tomoe thinks about going for a swim in a bit herself she could easily swap outfits to do so. "Another week of partying nothing wrong with that. After this year I think we all could use ssome more off that." She gives Alruna a wave as she heads off to the water.
