Armsmaster (554) has posed:
BROCKTON BAY
EARLY MORNING

    It's pandemonium.

The news of an imminent Endbringer attack has sent everyone in Brockton Bay for the disaster shelters. People have filled the streets, heading for some of the subterrainian multi-level shelters spread around the city, where they might hunker down and wait out the imminent attack. Police - not the Protectorate - are guiding people as best they can, but it's barely-controlled chaos.

Further away, near the Docks, the crowd has thinned out. An old building sits on a grassy hill. People in PRT uniforms stand guard near the parking lot and entrance and PRT armored vans and vehicles sit in the parking lot. This is where the response teams - cape and Elite - will gather. Past the hill and to the left is Dragon, in a four-legged mechanical suit that vaguely resembles her namesake, standing watch, looking out towards the bay. Her missile launchers stand ready and the engines of her craft are idling.

Anyone can see what she is watching. A stormcloud in the distance, black and terrible. It is growing closer by the second.

And outside, more and more capes are arriving. With quiet thunderclaps, a cape in blue and black is seemingly teleporting them in. He's just brought in a group of capes, headed by a tall, muscular woman in black and gray, one of the few heroes who actually wears a cape. Alexandria. One of the big names. Strong, said to be invulnerable. The PRT, it seems, is pulling out all the stops.

Inside the building, people are milling. Heroes and villains. Notably, Empire Eighty-Eight is all there, Kaiser included, in the back corner of the room. And all the local heroes are there, too - Wards, Protectorate, New Wave. There's some joking from the heroes, occasional laughter, but the atmosphere is one of false, tense bravado. It's all the little things that reveal just how dire the situation is - Glory Girl holding hands with Gallant, Triumph and Prism wrapped in each others arms, Assault standing there with Battery and saying nothing at all.

The Protectorate is out in force, with all their big guns. Armsmaster, looking taller and more confident than ever, is in conversation with Legend and Miss Militia. Armsmaster has not one but /two/ Halberds connected to his back. If Alexandria was the bruiser that most capes wanted to be like, Legend - with his skintight costume, perfect physique and kind voice - is the head of the pack when it comes to artillery. And then there's Myrddin, looking like a wizard. And there's Chevalier, in gold and silver armor, cannonblade slung over one shoulder. Gazing out the windows is Eidolon, the man who is said to have every power.

Weld. Shadow Stalker. Bambina. Bastion. Parian. Flechette. Capes are still streaming in as Elites begin to arrive.

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
Legend and Armsmaster stride to the front of the room.

"We owe thanks to Dragon and Armsmaster for their early alert," Legend begins. He has the kind of voice that people listen to. "We've had time to gather and prepare, with a few more minutes to be ready for Leviathan instead of jumping into the fray as we arrive. With this advantage, some luck, teamwork and hard effort from everyone, I hold out hope this can be one of the good days."

"But you should know your chances going in. Given the statistics from our previous encounters with this beast, a 'good day' still means that one in four people in this room will probably be dead before this day is done."

Onikaze Kenshin (76) has posed:
It's not the distress call that drew the wandering philosopher to Brockton Bay. As a philosopher who was not Onikaze Kenshin once said:

'See nothing in the present. That imparts no wisdom. See it as it was and learn from that. See what it will be and seek to prevent it. The present is meaningless compared to the past and the future.'

walking through the streets and approaching the building at the Docks, a man approaches with hair and cloak blowing in the wind as he stares out over the city. He feels a call to wander at all times, forever learning. Sometimes the lessons his wandering imparts to him are moments of great beauty. Other times these lessons are of great wisdom. And some times, his heart and affinity for wandering, bring him to the humbling sites of great tragedies. Never does he know what each journey will bring him in advance, and so he seeks to learn, but also to prevent those tragedies where he can.

He strides into the room and, in true heritage to his Japanes roots, promptly bows at the waist and apologizes, "I apologize for my intrusion. We spoke on the radio. I am Onikaze Kenshin and I wish to help."

Auron (236) has posed:
The Endbringer comes. And Brockton Bay needs all the help it can get. One of the Multiversal Elites heading out to the area is Auron. He's just a swordsman, really. But whatever aid he can lend is one more person helping than there would be without him. He'd rather go there and not be needed than not go and his have been able to help.

While he may only be a swordsman, he's also acquired a few things that he wouldn't have been able to get in Spira. Like the coat he's wearing. It's one of those nice Alchemy'd ones he got in Sburb, the one that lets him be more of a tank than he already is. Hopefully it will be enough. He doesn't activate its effect yet, though... they have a little time left.

Auron comes into Brockton Bay via Union transport. As soon as he disembarks, he's asking the first Protectorate rep he can find, "Where do you need the close-range combatants?" His strength is in melee, after all. Besides, he's practically made for the 'brick wall' thing. He may not be much of one compared to this 'Leviathan', but he intends to try. Even if he is one of one out of four that falls here, every second he buys is another second that can be used to help others.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"That would beeeeee..." Suchiru, Auron's large sword, speaks up with a sort of jaunty, friendly kind of tone, and posture to its blade. "Dragon, way I heard it! Unless you're feeling a little fragile today, hehehe. In that case, you'd go with Armsy there."

Theo Morrison has posed:
Theo is off in the background somewhere. He's apparently... playing with cards, because that's kind of what he does. It looks like he's assessing his arsenal, such as it is, and putting some finishing touches on things. His Abstractum is set on the tray he always has Kickotron carry around.

The three-foot-tall bird robot is, of course, absolutely unafraid.

Kiyoko Saito (131) has posed:
"I'm here to help, too!" That comes from a cheery-sounding voice that's arrived via... a large flatbed truck. She didn't drive the truck, someone else did, but she hopped out of the passenger side. In costume. That costume appears to be a sailor fuku, done in blues and pinks, mostly pastels. She also wears a white zorro mask, though even if she didn't her Disguise Field would make it difficult to discern her real identity. Not that she keeps it a secret anyway.

"And I can finally use my Christmas present from last year!" Kiyoko, or rather SAILOR SALVATION states as Legend is giving everyone the pep talk. The larrge tarp-covered object on the back of the flatbed truck is now revealed as Kiyoko yanks the ties for the tarp off, letting it slide free and the angular features of the robotic, giant Warstrider are revealed, rising to its feet automatically. The cockpit opens with a hiss, and she glances down to the triangular 'key' around her neck. "Everything ready, Star?"

The key chimes, <MANA ENGINE IS ONLINE. FLIGHT CAPACITORS ARE AT 92% CHARGE. KIMENKYO CONTROL SYSTEM IS ONLINE AND WAITING FOR PROJECTION. ALL SYSTEMS NOMINAL. TRANSCENDENT STAR: ONLINE.>

"Great!" Kiyoko says. "We'll hop in and synchronize when everyone gets moving. It's been a long time since I was in something this serious, don't let me down."

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
Leviathan's ominous storm clouds have reached the beach by now, and the rain is bucketing down. Legend is still talking. Do not underestimate Leviathan, he is saying - he might not be as strong as Behemoth or as smart as the Simurgh, but he is cunning and will catch people off guard. But he does feel pain, Legend says, he does bleed, and while killing him might be difficult, he can be driven off and forced into hibernation for a time.

That, it seems, will be the primary goal, before he enacts a repeat of Newfoundland or Kyushu and kills millions. If they don't stop Leviathan and keep him off-guard, he will build up to a strength that no one can stop. If Leviathan remains for too long near Brockton Bay, Legend says that it is highly likely the city might just collapse into the aquifer beneath the ground.

"We have to end this fast," Legend reiterates. "Each wave he brings on top of us is stronger than the last. This means we have two priorities. First, we cannot let him out of our sight. From the moment the battle is initiated, we hem him in, sustain an offensive onslaught. If we let him slip past our defensive lines, precious time will be wasted chasing him, getting him in another situation where we can contain his movements.

"Our second priority is that we need to find ways to hurt him. If you cannot, if your attacks are deflected or prove otherwise useless, work to support those who can. It is vain to hope to kill him, but he can be whittled down enough that he will flee back to the ocean. In any case, whatever data we can get is useful and may be the key to finally figuring out how to finally kill the beast."

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Aetherwright doesn't speak unless it needs to. Therefore, it doesn't, because right now it doesn't need to do anything but be in what appears to be something like a meditative trance of some sort, on Theo Morrison's card-tray.

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
By now, the windows are rattling with the force of the rain upon them. It's as dark as night outside. Gloomy and foreboding. Leviathan must be close.

"This is what the Endbringers are. As of yet, weve been unable to stop them, unable to get through even one confrontation without grievous losses, be it civilian casualties, the loss of a city, or the loss of the lives of some of the bravest and strongest of us. And they will keep coming, one after another, winning these small victories, and winning some major ones."

"You are doing a good thing. The greatest thing. This is why we are tolerated, why society allows and accounts for the capes that walk the streets and fight in its towns. Because we are needed for situations like this. With your assistance, we can forestall the inevitable. Your efforts and, if you choose to make them, your sacrifices, will be remembered."

Legend raises his voice. "Capes! If you have faced an Endbringer before, stand!"

The entire Protectorate stands as do many others.

"When in doubt, follow the orders of the Protectorate first! We have trained, organized and planned for this! The others who are standing, now, are the ones you listen to if we arent contradicting their order! They have been through situations much like this, you go with their instincts!"

"We are splitting you into groups based on your abilities! If you are confident you can take a hit from Leviathan and get up afterwards, or if you have the ability to produce expendable combatants, we need you on the front line! You will be directed by Alexandria and Dragon!"

"Armsmaster and Chevalier will be leading the hand to hand combatants who do not fit in Alexandrias group! Anyone who thinks they can harm or hamper Leviathan in close quarters, youll be assisting and reinforcing the front line!"

"If you can shield or protect others: forcefields, telekinesis, whatever your power, if you can interrupt Leviathans movements or help reduce the impacts of the waves, youre the backup defense! Bastion will direct you!"

"Movers! We need fliers, teleporters, runners! Youll be responding to pings! Rescue the fallen, get them to emergency care, assist any others where needed! Myrddin will give you your orders!"

"Long ranged attackers, with me! If you fall in more than one category, go with the group where you think youll be the greatest assistance!"

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako just so happened to be in Brockton Bay when the alarm was sounded. When she heard an Endbringer was on it's way she went straight to the beach and stood in the waves, gathering water. Funny how two beings that can control water are both gathering water from the same source. Well, she did join the Protectorate to help against things like this as Water Witch. She's listens quietly to the radio... and then it starts to rain heavily-which she also absorbs into her body as well. Her floating broomstick bobs gently in the air, floating paralel to the water, ready to be hopped on at a moment's notice. She's just waiting for Bastion to call her back, really.

Bitter Medicine (569) has posed:
"Good to hear someone give Armsmaster credit for something lately," mutters an Alchemical Exalted under his breath. The vending machine candy bar is gone quicker than he expects, leaving him with an empty wrapper. He wads it up and tosses it into the trash can. On this day, he's wearing his First Responder array--a set of charms designed solely for handling emergencies and crushing dissidents. Leviathan is a pretty big dissident, but he can't afford to be unnerved.

Today will make or break him as a member of the Union. If he can be seen as capable and reliable, as fearless, then people will trust him. Perhaps then his world can get the help it sorely needs. The Union wouldn't have been his first choice, he'll admit. He'd rather be sticking it out on his own, but more and more he realizes that's... not exactly practical, with the abundance of threats. He's careful to sit when Legend raises his voice. Though he may be an Elite, he doesn't want to seem disingenuous--and there's of course the matter that the villains here might not know about the Multiverse at large.

He CAN fly, but not nearly as fast as others--sixty miles an hour, at best. Exalted are often 'glass cannons.' Bitter Medicine fits that appellation very well, so he stands once Legend is through speaking and claps Armsmaster on the shoulder, falling in behind him and Chevalier.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Kiyoko Saito's mask's right eye has a very dry look to the posture of the mask's strips that go down the back of her head. "You are the kind of person that nobody would ever let down, yes. It will be difficult to assist your giant robot, though. I will endeavor to do so anyway, in as much as stealth could ever be relevant to it."

Then there's an aside to Transcendent Star. "Nice to meet you." It's probably not the sapient kind of Device, but that really doesn't matter to an Abstractum. "I advise discarding and rebuilding any subroutines of predicting Kiyoko's actions before we do the first serious battle, by the way. Just a pre-emptive little hint, as someone who has been in this job for a short while."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
A UNSC Warthog pulls up to where the defensive line is being set up, the driver being the white armored Iridium. Judging by the weapons crates sitting in all of the passenger seats on the vehicle, she has brought a veritble arsenal with her in order to fight back against the Endbringer. Noble Six, who is Iridium's more well known to the general public name, arrives just in time for the speech about the teams.

Hefting the SPARTAN laser and locking it onto the back of her armor, she soon makes her way over to Legend, "Looks like I'm going to be with you. Tell me, this Leviathan. What kind of thickness of his armor are we talking? Are we going to be able to penetrate it with an anti-tank round, or am I going to need to break out somethig even bigger?"

Serenity (607) has posed:
Some distance from Legend, the woman with the sword at her side and the strange eyes is listening to the man speak very carefully and seriously. She isn't making the assumption that this will be a pushover, mentally calculating threat levels and appropriate response. Well, none of the things she's heard has changed her personal strategy at this time, though it's heartening to see so many Elites helping with the defense. That also means it might be a threat worth it, though, so she isn't going to go and relax.

Time to get moving, Serenity thinks. 'Pact Summon, Leviathan,' the woman intones, gesturing out to the bay. A shimmering light envelops part of the water, followed by the roaring emergence of a massive sea serpent. It immediately quiets, turning to look at Serenity. She nods, and the beast focuses on the storm, the water lapping at the bay freezing in places to form improvised dykes and walls. Apparently the beast is a hydrokinetic, and must be the one she mentioned on radio.

'Pact Imbuement, Stahldrachen, Serenity adds. Her clothing and armor shimmer, replaced by lightweight plate mail and two swords strapped to her back. She lifts off the ground with a small crackle of electricity, and floats over to join Alexandria and Dragon in the front liner team.

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
Legend replies, "An anti-tank round will work, in that it will hurt him. But the bigger the better, is my advice. Hit him with everything you have, and do not stop."

When Bitter slaps Armsmaster on the shoulder, it's almost like hitting a tuning fork.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"You know, I feel like I'll probably be irrelevant here. But, honestly, probably better this way." Enforcer speaks up from Iridium's arm. "The way I heard it though, we're looking at something to bring the bug guns out against but that you can't really... Not help with, I guess? Honestly, just shoot whatever you can at 'em, right?" The little Abstractum module on Noble Six's arm is surprisingly friendly.

Finna (513) has posed:
"Well, if this force can't bring down this 'Endbringer,' I dunno what can!" Finna calls from her perch atop a windowsill overlooking the gathering. She is in human form and doing nothing to hide her tell. Fox ears and tail, of fine white fur, shimmer silver in the city's lights. She's in her huntress-adventurer attire and has armed herself, though honestly: the short sword and dagger are probably not there for anything but showing she's ready.

As it is, she doubts she'll be of much use against this 'Endbringer.' She is not a Full Moon and therefore, big damn heroics in combat are not her way. She can sneak, backstab, outwit... but none of these things are particularly useful against a WALKING DISASTER.

"Which means... I'd be best off playing support here. Messenger, rescue and recovery... fighting this thing head-on at the front lines will be pretty bad..."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"Trust me, Enforcer. If Leviathan gets it in his head to start attacking the ranged team, I'm going to be glad to have you handy." Six replies to him, "Besides, someday I'll have to get a spear and we can take you out like the old fashioned Spartans used to do." She grins faintly behind her helmet at the Abstractum module on her arm, "Or we can get a mode that turns you into an awesome arm cannon and blast the next Endbringer that shows up."

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
As capes and Elites prepare to assemble into their groups, Legend is still talking: "The rest of you-"

And that's when the first wave strikes. The building rocks with the impact, lights flickering, windows shattering. Water pours in, even as capes throw up forcefields and powers to block it.

     He's early.

"Strider!" Legend bellows, "Get us out of here!"

And, suddenly, with a thunderclap and strange sensation of pressure, everyone who was inside the building is outside.

    It's a nightmare.

Brockton Bay is being hit hard already and the water is already at about knee-depth. In the distance, Leviathan stands - thirty feet fall, muscled without being bulky. He's top heavy, like a teardrop with a tail that must be longer than he is tall, with arms that are too long for his height, his claws and digitigrade legs making him all the more bizarre. He moves gracefully through the water of the bay, arms moving like pendulums, body swaying left and right. Gallons of water pour around him in the wake of his movements. Seven green eyes, asymetrical, stare out from his face like dead suns. Leviathan throws his claws out, diverting the freezing water (courtesy of Serenity's Leviathan) out of his path.

    Legend howls, "Get ready!"

    And Leviathan /moves/.

    He's fast.

So fast that he's running on the water's surface.

Alexandria slams into Leviathan like a cannonball, bursting through Leviathan's 'echo' of water, and carrying him away from the capes and Elites. She catches Leviathan around the neck and piledrives him into the ground. And, in a moment, Leviathan clutches her in his tail and whips her into the water. Alexandria might be invulnerable, but she still needs to breathe. He's drowning her, entirely bypassing her parahuman invulnerability.

Dragon races forward, engines roaring, hammering Leviathan with every weapon she's got. She collides with Leviathan, gripping him in steel claws, and the 'mouth' of her dragoncraft opens up and bathes Leviathan in blue-white flame. Leviathan, for his part, seems uncaring as he begins ripping into Dragon, tearing her suit to pieces with each swipe of his claws.

Dragon ejects, skidding to a stop some distance away in a smaller set of armor. Her larger suit, still in Leviathan's grip, detonates violently.

And Leviathan is still standing, looking none the worse for wear as he plunges back into thick of the fight, having made his takedown of two of the biggest names of this world look effortless. The battle has begun and, in seconds, many more capes have fallen. Many are deceased, but some are merely downed.

Lightning flashes, thunder roars, and the rain begins to fall.

    CURRENT SITUATION
    Save Alexandria
    Rescue Downed Capes
    Defeat Leviathan

Onikaze Kenshin (76) has posed:
Kenshin rises from his apologetic bow and grips the sword between his fingers, hand closing around it tightly, "Very well." He says in response to all advice given. Brief words from the normally quiet man.

With his sword in hand, he adjusts his footing and heads outside towards the Bay to group up with the others. He is not fully sure as to his levels of durability, but between his use of time magic and controlling of kinetic forces, he has a confidence that he can survive at least a few hits from the mysterious being that approaches.

He, like Serenity, goes to joint Dragon and Alexandria. He probably doesn't look like much as a mid-20s japanese man in pretty mundane clothes and wielding a sword, but he says firmly, "I am here to help you at the Vanguard of the assault."

He looks to Serenity, "Greetings. I am Onikaze Kenshin. I am a wandere-." He's cut off by the start of the aggression, his feet digging in as a wave washes over him. He's wet, but unmoved for but an inch.

Normally he'd open up with an incredible windstorm, but something much more dangerous is happening. A woman is drowning. The swordsman whips his sword around and then creates a current of air at the tip of it. With a flick of the blade, he tries to funnel a stream of air through the water and directly into Alexandria's mouth, filling her lungs with the air and giving her more time for others to act.

Bitter Medicine (569) has posed:
Bitter Medicine is focused on three words.

     Lethal force authorized.

Before, he played by Armsmaster's rules, but now the rules have changed. Voidbane is here, on his hip, ready to be sent out at a moment's notice. But there is something else, a pressing matter he needs to attend to first. Alexandria can't breathe. He /doesn't/ breathe. With comrade Kenshin providing him a window, he leaps into action, quite literally. The Exalt takes to the skies with an application of Parabolic Leap Overcharger, easily clearing the roofs of most one-story buildings. An application of Plasma Thruster Array is next, rocketing Bitter Medicine through the air and down, down towards Alexandria.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
Lezard was not at the strategy meeting. He has already made his plan obvious. They need a way to lock down the Leviathan, and he can provide it.

Atop one of the taller buildings in Brockton Bay, the Sorceror of Midgard appears, a teleportation circle slowly forming and the shape of Lezard forming within. The circle vanishes, and Lezard adjusts his glasses, the lenses flashing in the storm weather. A thin smile appears on his face as he sees the damage the Leviathan is wreaking. "Majestic." He says, simply, and then turns around to face the roof of the building. With a flash of light, Lezard begins projecting beams of light into the roof, using the surface to carve out a complicated series of runes. To anyone watching, they look distinctly Nordic.

He is not wasting time attacking the Endbringer. His job is something entirely different.

Staren has posed:
Shortly after receiving the call for help, Staren looks up Leviathan on the internet.

And learns that it is like some sort of kaiju-level, city-destroyer threat. Except unlike the kaiju, this world's best heroes can on;y /drive it off for awhile/, /after/ it inflicts massive, city-destroying damage.

It is too much to hope for that this world's heroes are just /weak/.

Staren prepares. There will be no tacnukes today, it seems, and he has yet to prepare a safer alternative with Eureka's help. The Star Hawk is always ready to go, of course, but for this fight, spare munitions should be assembled. It's always better to be over-prepared, after all.

He climbs into the Ego Bridge, and ten minutes later, his robot body gets up off a neaby table. He girds himself in MDC armor plating too heavy to be used by non-cyborgs, walks up to his weapon racks and pulls down multiple laser rifles and missile launchers, hooks the RAISER rifle into a recharger in the mecha's hand, and then makes his way to the cockpit. Even if the mecha falls, he will be a war machine himself.

It's always better to be over-prepared, after all.

The Star Hawk flies out of the warpgate in hybrid mode, like a fighter plane with arms and legs, weighed down because each hand is carrying a spare missile backpack, and a second gunpod is strapped to the left arm. It's not so much that he plans to rearm during the fight, as it is that he hopes to fire them all in an opening salvo when the Endbringer arrives, before his allies get in close.

And then there's a wave, and he quickly takes back to the sky to avoid it. Unfortunately, as soon as Leviathan surfaces, the capes are already rushing in -- there's no time to fire all the missiles. "Tch..." Staren sets the packs and spare gunpod down. Maybe there will be an opportunity to use them later.

...Like, right after three heroes are dealt with as if they were nothing. Staren starts to wonder if this will even /do/ anything, now, but there's no time to think. "Gimme a second!" He lifts the packs up, they open... And forty missiles, maybe five or six times the size of the ones Staren usually uses for close-range engagements, fly out of the packs and streak towards Leviathan on fire and smoke before exploding in big fireballs, superheating the air into plasma and burning anything that will burn to ash... except, probably, Leviathan and other elites.

He made sure to aim for its upper body and away from the tail where Alexandria is. The fireballs are about as wide as Leviathan is tall. (And missiles knocked out of their path only explode if sufficiently far from Alexandria. Isn't guidance software great?)

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron turns his head as Suchiru speaks up, and gives a nod at the confirmation. A smirk at the 'feeling fragile' comment, and he notes, "That's why I wore this coat. So I wouldn't."

Legend speaks up then, and Auron quiets, to listen. Dragon's group. Right. Auron heads in that direction, waits. Until water enters the place. Auron can't actually swim, so when they're suddenly outside it's a blessing. He does, however, end up having to stand up again. Once he can breathe again, he activates the effect of the coat he's wearing. The emblem of wings on the back of the coat almost seems to ignite, but there's no fire. The emblem just shines brightly on the back of the coat.

And as soon as he's able, he pulls Suchiru from its sheath He's heard the 'strife drive' thing before, but he doesn't know if the sword Abstractum needs to do that. He'll pause long enough to be sure that Suchiru has done what it needs to do. And then he will pause to gather his qi.

He's heard that there's issues with that tail, so he's going to concentrate his effort there. And there is where he releases that stored qi, slashing his sword downward. It's not just one cut, though... a flurry of cuts, too fast and too far away for him to have made himself explode from the blade. And they're aimed at that tail.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
So much for their prep time. Noble Six turns as soon as thes trike begins, and frowns under her helmet. This battle is already swinging in the wrong direction. Iridium turns away from Legend towards the rest of the long rang team, "Lets move! Everyone get into position and give it everything you've got!" The jetpack on Noble Six's back fires up and she launches herself into the air, heading to get to the top of a nearby building so she'll have a clear line of sight at Leviathan's head and upper body.

he weapon crates come with her, and she tosses them down on the ground, before turning and taking a knee. She decides to crack open one of the crates and she pulls out the armor piercing sniper rifle that the UNSC uses to piece the armor of Brutes and tanks alike. From her kneeling position she raises the weapon to her shoulder and takes aim. She's trying to gain a good line of sight through the scope towards Leviathan's eyes. The scope has a night vision boost, so it helps with the darkness brought about by the stormclouds above. She takes a deep breath and then squeezes the trigger, firing the first shot of the magazine.

Metal Man (11) has posed:
Metal Man had not come alone no he'd brought support. Flash Man, Crash Man, Bubble Man, Heat Man, Air Man and Wood man had joined him today with a detachment of drones mostly made up of mets and Sniper Joes of various flavours with who are more to help with evaucation and given orders to aid and protect both civilians and aid workers from enemy.

MEtal Man appears on top of a building with the otehrs their arms folded as they call out.

"So your the one who thinks he can not be stopped? Let's see how you face against the Wily Numbers! GO!"

Metal Man drops his hand and the Wily Numbers spring into action. Metal Man moves in a a distraction throwing his blades with pretty good skill, Crash Man follows up launching several shaped charges to avoid possiblits with allie.s Heat Man also joins the frey firing off bolts of flame but that's not all Flash man is joined by Bubble Man as they move about tyring to flank the hostile.

While Air Man? He won't be beat as he starts turing the air /against/ the derranged meta human.

The drones meanwhile fan out and go to help those on resqu effors many gronts might find the Sniper joes using htier shields to cover them.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"Hey Auron, check it out. Lady to defend. That's your shtick, right? You ready to go for a swim?" Suchiru is as derisive and teasing as ever, though clearly completely prepared to handle this seriously. "Powering Strife Drives. Strike Driver." The wide blade is saturated in a soft red fire. "I'll try to widen out your attacks, hmmm? See if you can get that tail weakened, maybe cut off, like the guy yelling on the radio says?" The blade flares with red for a moment, and any strike Auron makes will be LONGER and more PIERCING, the blade trying to enhance the effect of a simple sword against a giant foe.

Serenity (607) has posed:
Serenity's Summon roars, but doesn't even try to attack. Normally the serpent would, but his job right now is entirely meant to stem any flooding or damage to the city, redirecting waves of water or forming ice walls to let them crash into. That's going to be a full time job, so we can assume that's all that he's doing.

Serenity, despite being in the front line, balks the moment she sees Leviathan. This isn't from fear or even shock, but from a brief confusion followed by a shake of her head. The Endbringer knocking down Alexandria shakes her out of her staring and back into action.

Whipping out her blades, Serenity's first attack is a peal of thunder, coming with the blast of a lightning bolt that arcs directly toward Leviathan's chest. That's just a distraction, though, as Serenity's flight is also pretty fast, jinking to the side and streaking in from one side with both blades out to slash toward the creature... and Serenity herself, despite her tiny size, hits harder than any lightning bolt.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"Powering Strife Drives..." Enforcer is a little uncertain here, but it burns softly at Noble Six's arm, with the clear and obvious intent to activate its crimson HARD-LIGHT SHIELD BARRIER as soon as anything from Leviathan even gets CLOSE to Noble Six! But for now, it lets her work her magic, firing on the target.

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako inclines her head to the side as she hears on the radio that Leviathan has made landfall and then hops onto her broomstick. Not sidesaddle this time. She's riding it in the stereotypical witch style this time as she grabs the onto the stick with both hands. Instead of the usual burst of mist, the brush blasts a torrent of water which sends the water spirit and broom flying in the direction of the Endbringer.

Once she arrives at the scene, her hands dig into her witch hat and muffler and produces several Erlenmeyer flasks filled with purple healing water. "Healing Water!" Ayako flings the flasks-which themselves are made of water-at the injured capes that have been scattered by Leviathan's attack. And then flies in a circular patrol route above the city. She's actually keeping an eye on the water-and especially how the water vapor is moving. If Leviathan tries anything water-based she'll know it almost instantly!

Zwei (596) has posed:
It seems a certain Armiger must have been listening in on the meeting. Though neither of Zwei's units actually showed up for the debriefing, at least one of them had been camping out in Brockton Bay for the entire last week, monitoring the city's movements and news of the capes and their activities. This 'endbringing' is the first thing since unification that Zwei deems necessary to deploy both units for. That shows how serious of a threat even the normally aloof Armiger takes Leviathan for.

Weiss stands atop one of the nearby buildings, long hair whipping in the wind until it derezzes in favour of her helmet to match the rest of her combat armour. A handful of sensor drones have been deployed to fixed positions at high elevation around the docks in order to provide full awareness of all activities going on within the combat theatre. Asche is close behind, slamming into the empty streat some distance before Leviathan, with a clear and straight line of fire. Anchoring both feet into the ground, he produces what looks like a narrow, rectangular, bifurcated rocket launcher from over his back, pulling it down on a swivel with one hand around an undergrip. The 'conversation' between the two is silent, as it might as well be. It is more or less, a single train of thought from a single being, spoken in two different voices on and off.

"Typically, it's parahuman. Supernatural powers. Physical makeup doesn't suggest its actual abilities if Dragon's failure is anything to go by." "Waiting for more superhumans to fail and die is not an acceptable way to gather more data. I will act in the interests of testing its defenses myself." "That plasma attack didn't do much, so start with physical munitions. As simple as possible." "Rail cannon fully charges." Firing all rear mounted thrusters the split second before firing, the ton and a half Asche /sill/ skids backwards a significant distance as the shoulder cannon fires, blossoming a colossal plume of fire as a 300 kilogram slug accelerates to 30 times the speed of sound, leaving a streaking plasma train as the tungsten bullet starts to vapourize from atmospheric friction. The shot is aimed directly for Leviathan's center of mass, mostly as a test to see if it will even penetrate, but also as an assurance to see how much physical force will at least throw it around.

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
Leviathan continues his advance into the defensive lines as missiles, fireballs, sniper fire and other projectiles rain down upon him. With every step, he fills the space he has just left with water - dragging it into the field. He lunges forwards, clawing his way through the first set of capes that get in his way.

5t STAREN'S missiles rain down upon him, blasting great pieces from his body, sending thick ichor spraying through the air. NOBLE SIX's sniper fire finds one of Leviathan's eyes, sending it dark. In response, Leviathan turns and forces a wave against the base of the building the SPARTAN is on. It shudders.

AURON strikes at Leviathan's tail, and his sword bites deep. Still, not deep enough. It seems the deeper it gets, the harder it is to penetrate. He's cut almost all the way through, and it seems like Leviathan has reduced use of his tail, but not reduced enough that he can't flick the razor-sharp edge in Auron's direction.

It gives BITTER and KENSHIN an opening, though. Alexandria coughs up water but seems unresponsive. She'll live, but she won't be fighting. Someone should get her out of there.

SERENITY's lightning arcs into Levithan's chest, scything deep into it. The edges of his flesh glow orange hot - but organic material shouldn't glow like that. It's almost like glass, or crystal. She knocks Leviathan to the side, while Legend peppers him with laser bolts from his hands.

Up above, AYAKO can see that Leviathan is trying something - several somethings. There are tidal waves buffeting against the frozen water of the bay. The third or fourth wave is going to break through!

And Leviathan is still pushing his way through the defensive lines, claws flashing, tail striking where it may. He's trying to get deeper into the city!

Asche's shell drives Leviathan back, stumbles him into a building, and his weight and mass is set to bring that down onto the gathered capes and Elites!

Kiyoko Saito (131) has posed:
"It's fine, Passion, I think we have a few tricks that you can help with," Kiyoko says to her Abstractum as she settles in the cockpit of the Warstrider. It whines closed as Leviathan is attacking, and the Warstrider lurches to life.

<IT IS A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU PROPERLY. PLEASE EXCUSE US. OPERATIONS REQUIRE OUR ATTENTION. KIMENKYO CONTROL SYSTEM SYNCHRONIZATION AT 64%.> Transcendent Star announces. The Warstrider leaps forward, wings of pink splaying out from its back, and then the whining of the engines climbs to a shriek. It's moving fast, too, and jettisoning a series of tiny globes toward its front... which bloom into short-lived smoke, not enough to hinder the others but enough that it's hard to see which way the Warstrider is attacking.

It's a hit and run tactic. Kiyoko is going to be a harrier, and she darts in with a small device in the Warstrider's right hand. The idea is to dart in, slash at a leg, then dart out again to assess her options. In the meantime...

The Device leaps ino activation as she slashes, roaring with a loud buzzing noise. It flares with pink light, the slash revealing it to be an enchanted magitech chainsword powered by mana.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"Gaaah!" The module at Noble Six's arm seems uncertain! "I can't defend against the floor falling out from under us. That Bain guy's plotted a path, here!" It pops up a series of indicators on Noble Six's HUD that should lead it over rooftops to get to a more steady position. Little it can do otherwise! Crap!

Theo Morrison has posed:
Theo sits through the whole thing. He doesn't stand up for the Endbringer Veteran call, because while he's faced a couple seriously metal monsters, he doesn't know jack about this one. He goes to Legend's group, a bit out of place surrounded by costumed capes. He's wearing civilian clothes, with his hood pulled up and with a robot carrying a try. It is weird.

He feels a prickling. "I think it's about time," he mutters. He draws, checks, nods and plays, an Island touching the tray. Instantly he feels the enormous upwelling of blue mana around him, and he knows that something out there is /bringing it in/.

They get sent outside. Theo blinks, staring at the creature and the frozen waters of the bay in the distance. Keep going, he thinks; it's made its move. Draw, play. Another Island. He looks at his hand...

"Keep me updated if you notice anything useful, or have any tricks to contribute," Theo says to Aetherwright, swallowing his fear. Tap, tap, play. A grey card touches the tray. He holds out his now-free hand.

"Isochron Scepter! Imprint --" He drops another on top of it in a practiced motion. "-- Delay!" A bronze scepter appears in Theo's hand, materialized out of wispy Aether. It's topped with something like a more ornate mace's head. It seems to split around the middle, blue light building and shining out of the middle like a magical beacon. The so-attuned can sense a minor temporal anomaly present within it.

"Little longer," Theo mutters.

Bitter Medicine (569) has posed:
"Intervention complete," says Bitter Medicine over the radio once he surfaces with Alexandria. "Extracting." All of this water and STILL he isn't convinced of the usefulness of undersea mobility charms. He extracts Alexandria by way of a martial arts charm, oddly enough.

"Rearing Crane Release!" She is then chucked into the air, where she hangs suspended, awaiting extraction by Myrddin's team.

Now it's time to get in the fight. He sets Voidbane into the air, the weapon screaming and moaning as it sets upon Leviathan.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
The assembled heroes appear to be causing a great deal of injury to Leviathan. Lezard frowns for a moment. Driving him to flee too quickly would /also/ be suboptimal, but it seems that the Leviathan still has a great deal of fight left. He remains engrossed in his work, extending his hand over the roof and incanting quietly as the ar around him seethes with magical Power. It would not do for others to hear this one.

A beam of gray light fires upwards like a spotlight, piercing the stormy skies but seeming to so little but to fainylt warp light in the area.

Lezard looks up at the light, and nods, a circule appearing below him as he teleports again.

A minute later, he appears atop another tall building, and begins repeating his work. It is taking him a significant amount of time to do this work. Thankfully, Leviathan has other things to pay attention to.

Auron (236) has posed:
"Thank you." This Auron directs to Suchiru. Then he makes his attack. The airborne slashes cut, cut, cut... but it doesn't seem to be enough. And then suddenly there's a sharp, bladed tail swinging at him! He's light enough on his feet to keep from getting cut completely in half, but not enough to avoid it entirely. His leather breastplate splits easily under the blade, as does the skin underneath.

It's only thanks to the effects of that coat that he doesn't cry out in pain. He doesn't feel it. Yet. He'll have to remember to thank Arthur later. He does, however, go flying into a mass of debris. Digging himself out is a task, but he manages it.

As soon as he's on his feet, he heads back into the fight. Nope, he's not stopping. Even though he's bleeding pretty bad already. Fact, he has an idea. He pauses, to concentrate his qi into his blade. Suchiru will probably be able to tell what he's doing. As he heads towards Leviathan again, a yellow gleam might slide down the blade of the Abstractum. And if he hits Leviathan, there might be a small explosion at the contact site.

Auron may only be able to hit legs or ankles, but hopefully ARMOR BREAK will make a difference in the armored hide of the Endbringer, even if only in that one spot.

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako quickly notes the multiple tidal waves attempting to break through the ice barriers at the coast. She swings her broomstick around and points it downwards slightly. Another torrent of water blasts out of the brush, and Ayako dives slightly downwards and then back up in the direction of the ice barrier. As she dives downwards and back up, she pulls any water from the streets that she can in hopes of depriving the Endbringer of water. Absorbing what water she can and leaving the rest in a quickly growing ball of water that trails her broomstick.

She continues to fly off in the direction of the ice barrier and once in a twenty meter range, she flings her arms forward with her palms extended. "Freezing Water of Cocytus!" The massive ball of water goes flying at the ice barrier and freezes thickly on contact to reinforce it.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"I'll look forward to it." Passion says, in a snarky sort of monotone. It's a mask. All it can do is look forward, of course. Speaking of masks: Kiyoko Saito's Warstrider's head is now wearing a zorro mask with one brilliant red eye.

"Oh, you're a chainsword. Why do I suddenly feel gypped?" The mask's voice remains as calm as ever. "Powering Strife Drives. Surrogate Shadow." The unique function activates, allowing Kiyoko to summon her SHADOW SURROGATE. Of a giant mecha. Ideally, she'll be able to use this as part of her hit and run, to make the running easier. Splitting herself up into a pair ought to halve her chances of being eviscerated by giant claws.

Onikaze Kenshin (76) has posed:
With Alexandria clear, Kenshin can focus on his task at hand. With a crisp motion, he turns towards Leviathan and shouts. Actually shouts, too, which is a rarity for someone as quiet as he is, "HEAR ME, LEVIATHAN. IT IS NOT THE WIND WHICH YIELDS TO THE WATER, BUT THE WAVES WHICH SUBMIT TO THE STORM."

He swipes his sword through the air, creating a rolling current of wind around him that picks all the water off his body, drying him in and instant before letting it fall to the ground all around him, "You are unnatural, and you disrupt your world. You shall not be allowed to continue as a wave of misery and destruction."

The attacks launched upon him teach Kenshin something. This being is armored and durable, but he suspects it will be weak internally. Most biological beings are, and so he will seek to exploit that.

The winds around Kenshin roil and whip, kicking around him like a storm. His time magic mixes with his control of his forces and of wind. Kenshin condenses all the wind and power whipping around him into a sphere the size of a grapefruit in his hand. One which he lobs upwards towards Leviathan, hoping to get the sphere in the vicinity of what would pass for a mouth, while avoiding hitting his allies who are in close like Serenity and the others.

When the sphere rises up there, he raises his hand and then snaps his fingers. In an instant, the whipping ball of wind and time magic inverts. Kenshin has turned it into a vacuum, which violently seeks to suck in surrounding air in an abrupt, incredibly forceful, and unrelenting fashion.

This is actually one of Kenshin's nastier tricks. One might think that the sudden vacuum sucking in all oxygen surrounding it is relatively harmless. However, the severe amount of blast and force this creates as oxygen rips around is incredibly damaging to anyone nearby the sphere who might, say, have oxygen in their lungs or body (such as Leviathan), at which point the violent rush of air has enough blast force as it moves to rupture and pulp internal organs.

    "Suffocate, Leviathan."

Staren has posed:
Staren watches the missile explosions... Okay, that /definately/ did some damage, but when the smoke clears, Leviathan seems... to not be slowed down at all. "He's STILL UP?! ...Of COURSE he is..." Staren mutters.

    "Eureka, Strife Drives. Cartridge Load."

On Staren's left arm is a brass-colored gauntlet, segmented with five armored wires running up from the base of the gauntlet to the second knuckles, bracer-style plates on the back of the arm and hand, and a blue crystal eye situated behind the wrist, about where a watch would be. The Abstractum, Eureka. When a slot opens up on it (which looks like it should be extending down into Staren's arm), Staren pulls a small cartridge from his bag (it's strapped next to his seat) and pushes it in quickly.

As soon as Eureka's active, the gatling railgun on the right arm spins up and starts chucking a stream of hypersonic metal at Leviathan. Staren follows the Endbringer with his railgun for a few seconds, then decides to charge in -- the Star Hawk flies towards Leviathan, then transforms all the way to humanoid mode, landing next to Leviathan and swinging beam sabers. The mecha has ten feet on Leviathan. Somehow, Staren expects that won't help much.

"I wish we had a scanning Abstractum here... if we knew what this guy IS, you could Rotate my weapons into something he's weak to."

"...I don't suppose you could Rotate HIM?"

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Theo gets a firm "nod" gesture from the crest on his tray. "This is not a particularly blue-like foe, But the mana they bring is. You can use it more effectively than they can. Exploit that. Make the resource of your enemy your own."

Zwei (596) has posed:
As Leviathan crashes into the building almost right next to Weiss, she leaps clear of the impending wreck with a quiet snap of concrete and a brief flare from her armour's jets, launching her nearly the entire distance between her scouting point and where the ocean begins. Diving through the air like a bullet, she intercepts Alexandria in mid-air, grabbing the cape at high speed, landing knee deep in the water, bounding off again, and then putting her jets into a low, steady burn, swooping away from the combat zone and taking her back towards one of the shelters, neatly and precisely picking her out of the fray.

Meanwhile, Asche has adjusted the output of his rail cannon, causing the bidented end to split open into some sort of flowering mess of metal. The interior turbine whines as it converts the output of his rydelblitz reactor into electrostatic energy, charging a quartor ton of graphene supercapacitor with thousands of volts of electricity. A second eruption of white hot plasma transpires as the air breaks down from the passage of 300 seperate, smaller flechettes, bursting through the air in an elongated oval pattern meant to spread over Leviathan's entire body. Likely none of them will pierce his skin more than superficially, but applying all that force over his whole body should stop him in his tracks, and hopefully knock him down against the road, where the melee fighters can hack away at something other than his ankles.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Eureka is on Staren's mecha-hand, of course. The red cartridge loads in, and the Abstractum speaks up. "Cartridge installing." And, suddenly, Staren's weapons are all FRIENDLY-FIRE-PROOF, unable to do harm to his of the moment allies! Eureka itself speaks up, regarding Rotating the enemy. "I can try, if you think it might be effective. But Serenity seemed to have the impression of a certain degree of disconnection from reality. I am ready to attempt it, if you need it."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
"Thanks." Noble Six says, as she shoulders the sniper rifle and grabs one of the other crates, pulling the rocket launcher out of there. She turns from Leviathan and heads on the path that Bain was kind enough to plot out for her. The jump pack fires off and takes her through the air between buildings. She's not the type to not take advantage of the situation, however, and she fires both rockets from the double barrel rocket launcher at Leviathan as she sails between buildings.

She lands and rolls and is back on her feet, ditching the rocket launcher on the rooftop and heading to the next one. Another flare from her jump pack and she sails through the air, landing on the second, more stable roof, and moving into position at the edge.

Her sniper rifle comes to bear again, and she unleashes the three remaining shots that are in the maagazine before rapidly swapping it out for a replacement one. She's trying to drill as many of the armor penetrating rounds into the Endbringer that she can as quick as she can. Accuracy is little issue at this range.

Finna (513) has posed:
With so many capes going down, and all those resources pushed into firepower, SOMEONE has to play rescue. Someone who probably couldn't do more than scratch this thing.

    That someone is Finna.

Or rather, it's probably the WOOLY MAMMOTH that's charging down the road, trumpeting a wake-up call.

It's rescuing anyone who goes down.

...using EIGHT OCTOPUS LEGS that swarm everywhere and reach to grab people and raise them up.

Lunar rescue teams. What did you expect?

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
The enchanted chainsword makes mince meat out of Leviathan's digitgrade legs, and the Endbringer stumbles. Much like Auron found, however, he seem to be /more/ resistant to damage the deeper one cuts! Auron's strike blasts into Leviathan's ankle, damaging him and sending ichor through the air, and Leviathan raises that same leg to try and stomp AURON into the asphalt!

With that done, Leviathan turns to look at KENSHIN, green eyes smouldering. He snorts.

Because, as SERENITY might be figuring out, Leviathan isn't human. He was never human. He has no organs to rupture, no oxygen to be sucked out of his body. KENSHIN, does, however, pull Leviathan's watery echo from his body - denying him one of his most potent weapons and his primary source of ammunition.

Taking advantage of that, STAREN swoops in - the gatling railgun punches right through Leviathan's body at points, driving him back. When the Star Hawk swings its beam sabers at him, Leviathan meets it strength to strength, just as he had Dragon, and begins doing his best to tear it to pieces with unnatural claws.

Asche knocks Leviathan to the ground, perhaps saving the Star Hawk, and giving many of the capes an opening ot hit the beast. ARMSMASTER is there, hacking and slashing, alongside Chevalier. And Leviathan is...

...utterly still, making him an easy target for Noble Six to hit again and again and again. The armor piercing rounds penetrate, but who knows how effective that'll be!

Ayako can see it, and the Abstractum might be able to predict it. Leviathan has seemingly decided that breaking the ice is too much effort - because he's hauling the water /over/ the powerful barrier. It'll drain him, but that amount of water is set to annihilate everything in the general vicinity!

"INCOMING!" Armsmaster shouts, Halberd pointed high. "SHIELDS! BARRIERS! NOW!"

Luckily for some of the unconcious capes, FINNA is there to retrieve them - half-drowned, unconcious, bones broken, bleeding... They'll be safe, at least. But who knows about the others?

     CURRENT SITUATION

     BRACE FOR IMPACT

Serenity (607) has posed:
Serenity directs 'her' Leviathan to help Ayako, "Keep the city from flooding! Follow her lead on this!" The serpent hisses, water flowing easily about it as the beast tries to 'shoo' the water back out to sea after the Endbringer creates it. When Ayako requests it, a twisting snakelike spout of water rises up and roars toward her.

Serenity herself has thus far escaped reprisal, but she knows that won't last too much longer... and while she can take a hit, she's guessing, she's also guessing that it won't be pleasant. It's compounded by the fact that she can't see the /details/ of this thing, which is making precision strikes difficult.

Lightning seemed effective before. She charges up for a blast....

But there's an incoming. Serenity iinstead tries a different tactic. Darting in front of the more vulnerable members, she counters the oncoming wave witha blast of concussive force, a sonic attack that explodes out from her. Maybe Leviathan is weak to sonics, who knows?

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
There are Protectorate capes throwing up shields and barriers, for those who cannot defend themselves!

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako blinks her eyes quickly when she realizes what the Endbringer is trying to do. "Oh no you don't!" Another blast of water comes from the brush of her broom as Ayako speeds over to the barrier, where she stops just a little in front of it. Her arms spread outwards with her palms facing outwards as well. "Null Barrier of Water Control!"

And all of the water in Ayako's 30 meter radius and entering it suddenly goes absolutely still. Even the ice barrier she's close to suddenly melts back into water. Of course, the real problem... is that Ayako can't do anything else. She's pretty much frozen in place.

Zwei (596) has posed:
Being alerted of the incoming wave shortly before it happens by her drones posted by the bay, Weiss leaps into action beside Finna, zipping from cape to cape with blurringly fast movement, picking up one after the other with seemingly no strain at all, strapping them together over her back with makeshift CNT cable, until it simply won't hold anymore. She takes off with all the casualties she can, going somewhat slower with all the additional weight as she moves to fly out of the combat zone again.

Asche abandons the rail cannon, ascertaining that Leviathan isn't much more vulnerable on his back than standing up. The street rumbles as he engages his own boosters, barreling down the street, past the giant robots, and up to the front with Ayako and Serenity, where he digs in his heels, throws out his arms, and expands his personal defense field to be wide enough that it should at least cover the street. He takes the wave full on as it hits, dumping enormous amounts of power into applying precise counterforce to the momentum of the water, slowing down the wave such that the water that passes around him is more of a strong tide rather than something bone-breakingly lethal.

Staren has posed:
Staren gets in close, realizing too late that beam sabers are probably not a good idea. Leviathan's claws rake across the mecha's armor, gouging the plating. It can't cut through him like /butter/, but it looks like Tanking may not be such an effective strategy. At least not for long. "Shit!"

Fortunately, Leviathan is knocked over, giving Staren a chance to pull out and change tactics. And he /wants/ to grab Leviathan and pound it point blank, but there's no /time/. "Eureka! Rotate my railgun into something that fires one big, heavy round instead of a stream of little ones!" The Star Hawk is already leaping into the air and flying up to avoid the wave... But Staren aims the railgun down and tries to take a shot right at the head. Far less than an ideal shot, but he's got to try!

Theo Morrison has posed:
"Right... okay. It's a dumb monster, so we outsmart it." Theo agrees with his Abstractum's assessment. He is actually pretty glad for the affirmation of his previous plan. It makes him less unsure that he should do it. He starts his 'turn' as Leviathan moves in again, trying to track everything from his mostly-stable perch. One of the Protectorate capes nearby is covering him enough that he's in the clear for n--

Tidal wave incoming.

"I'VE GOT IT!" Theo shouts. He nearly fumbles his draw in a panic. "Just hold it for a second --" Theo feels the mana sufffusing the area. The sea water is perfect for what he needs. He draws it in, breathing deeply of the available power. Theo lightly touches a few cards on his field, and swings the scepter upwards. The top splits open, a blue light visible like a lighthouse's beacon. Yellow-orange waves start to roll off of it and him, the world changing colors in his immediate vicinity.

"DELAY!"

There's a visible /flicker/ as the chronomancy suddenly erupts across the field. The rolling waves of yellow-orange light suddenly intensify and shoot into the incoming wave, slashing through it and coloring the whole wave. There's a cyan shimmer to it, and it should have just...

...stopped.

"That'll buy us some time," Theo says with a sigh. He taps out. The Scepter goes dark. "Suspending Ancestral Vision --"

He tries not to think about the target he just painted on himself.

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron was already in motion by the time he was swinging, foreseeing the sword strike to get attention. While the stomp misses him, it's only barely, and the sheer power of the foot coming down creates a wave of force that knocks him down. And back.
He has no way of stopping the water. And no way of protecting himself, either. But he heard 'regeneration' over the radio. He has something that might help. Maybe. It's worth a shot. But he needs to take the opportunity he has, before he gets drowned... along with others.

There's no bracing from Auron. Instead? "This may feel odd, Suchiru. Hold on, and try to boost it if you can." That said, he rushes towards the Endbringer again, relentless in his assault. The Abstractum blade may feel a strange chill pass through it as Auron tries to strike Leviathan again. The gleam this time is sickly green. It may not work. But if it does, maybe it'll help whittle down Leviathan's considerable strength for a short time.

Metal Man (11) has posed:

Frederica (73) has posed:
FireFox has set herself up with the long-range shooters, preparing to rain fire down on Leviathan. This was, clearly, the best sort of place for her to assist from. While she's not got the destructive power of an Endbringer, she's able to do plenty of damage when she sets her power to best effect. She's been preparing, biding her time. Her time will come when she can see where Leviathan will be. When she can direct her power entirely against Leviathan without fear of missing.

"Shinrin." Frederica says softly, taking aim. "I can't miss. And at this range, I'll have trouble redirecting the shot. I'm counting on you to help me guide it. Everyone needs me to hit." she claims. "If you think it will help, I have a cartridge from Homura. I don't know what it'll do. Maybe it can give me some insight into time. Let me know when to strike." she says. It's a small chance, but maybe it'll do something helpful. She slots the cartridge, at the same time preparing other matters. It's all in her head of course, this preparation. Gathering up her fear, her anger, focussing it down with her will, edging her mind with incandescent power. One shot... that's all she can do if everything goes well. Fire, as intense as she can possibly make it. If it hits, if it hurts the monster, Leviathan would surely counterattack. And if it doesn't hurt the monster... well, then she'll have to do something else to assist.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Aetherwright's effects become apparent immediately, to Theo. Mana kicks back into him, intensely. He is saturated with a HASTE-LIKE EFFECT, as the temporal magic bounces back into him.

"A very important part of tactics is knowing when to run. We flee laterally to avoid motivating it into breaking the defenses. But we flee, for the moment."

Lezard Valeth has posed:
There is a second eruption of grayish light into the air, and the warped field expands to connect the two points. At first it seems like there is little change other than a slight shimmer in the air, but attempting to pass between the two points results in a halting of movement, as if an inch was extended to nigh-infinite distances. Going around still works, of course.

Lezard wastes no time in moving to the third location, silently cursing how inefficient these forbidden magics can be as he works to get the third beacon up and working. He has to move faster if the opportunity is going to arise. "Of course they would push too hard." Lezard mutters. "Well, they had best keep him pushed inside the bounds...."

Noble Six (38) has posed:
The huge wave is coming in, everyone is trying to brace for it, when the plans of all the defenders go off. This is her chance, Noble Six thinks. She has to move in on the target now. She drops the sniper rifle and leaps into the air again. The jetpack flares and propels her upwards. She pushes it until it reaches it's max point, bringing her high enough to do what she wants to do.

Iridium shines white in the sky above Leviathan, a flash of lightning illuminating her form as she brings her biggest gun to bear on Leviathan. The SPARTAN Laser is not brought out lightly. It's a weapon designed to penetrate through multiple tanks at the same time. This is not something you bring when you wish to use cunning or guile or stealth. This is the weapon you bring when you want to make a statement.

Gravity still works, however, and she starts to fall downwards. The jetpack needs a few moments to recharge. So she'll have to make this one count. She shifts her position so she's falling towards Leviathan with the weapon and her head first. As she falls, the targeting laser for the SPARTAN Laser ignites, aiming center mass at Leviathan's massive chest. It needs a few moments to charge up, but when it does, it should accomplish what Iridium wants it to.

The weapon reaches it's full charge and then unleashes, the massive red beam firing from the weapon, raining anti-armor death down at Leviathan. Noble Six's decent isn't done yet, however. She slams the weapon back onto her back, and grabs something off of her hip. The Covenant plasma sword ignites in her hand, and she aims it towards Leviathan, aiming to hit him in the same spot where she just struck with the Spartan Laser at full terminal velocity. She just hopes Enforcer can absorb the impact of her hitting Leviathan at the same time. It's all on him now.

"Right away." Eureka says. "Rotation Drive." And it flares into a brilliant blue light, the railgun suddenly flickering as a new side of it seems to face this reality.

It is some kind of cannon. No, not a high-tech one. Like the kind you see on a ship. And yet, the aura is just as present as ever, and the attack comes in a single, tremendous shot of all the force and mass that would normally be conveyed by Staren's weapon. Perhaps a little more. It's more appropriate to try to shoot Leviathan with a cannonball. The recoil is likely to launch the Star Hawk back, despite its weight and momentum.

Bitter Medicine (569) has posed:
Wail on it. He can do that. The Exalt lands on Leviathan's midsection, turning the landing into an attack with puissant charm usage. So forceful is his landing that his boots leave visible impressions. He's not done yet, though. If this bastard is just going to run, he needs insurance. The barriers are nice, but hamstringing Leviathan would be an extra layer of 'nice.'

Bitter Medicine sprints down the Endbringer's body, his chakram returning to his hand to serve as a makeshift bonesaw. The Exalt's weapon becomes an extension of his body as he tries to cripple Leviathan.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"Man, everything feels odd. Have you ever been rammed headfirst into some armor to break it? At that point you don't know normal anymore." Suchiru is as teasing as ever, even on the battlefield, but its tone and posture is still serious. "Strike Driver." And the blade tries to multiply the STATUS EFFECT of Auron's strike, spreading it out more throughout the body on the attack, like an area-of-effect explosion of brilliant red!

Kiyoko Saito (131) has posed:
Kiyoko whews, as the Surrogate Shadow works. Her clone goes one direction, she goes the other, but she drops several small modules as she moves. Stopping in midair, the Surrogate is the one who speaks, even if the real one is triggering all the actions. And she... has a plan. A plan to make it harder for Leviathan to run! Limit his mobility, force him to go the way they want.

So to do that... the Surrogate clone of the Warstrider lets out a booming voice. "TIME TO USE MY MOST POWERFUL SPELL! I CAST..." Pause. 'MECHA SUMMONING IV!'

The various bombs erupt into smoke, and the other half of them release their payloads: fast-inflating balloons that are replicas of various famous Gundams, hurled in a half-circle around Leviathan to provide the impression that one particular escape is sealed off.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
The Surrogate Shadow can do the same thing Kiyoko just did. A fake gundam produced by a fake gundam is double-fake and even easier to pop than the normal ones. But the mask's resonance effect should double the apparent force on display here. Also of note: It's putting substantial power into 'spoofing' the attack on more bands than just the visible, trying to make the fakes more convincing by giving them false heat signatures and energy readings... It doesn't actually know what the Endbringer uses for senses, but it can't hurt.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Noble Six is gonna get hit hard in a moment.

"Barrier Driver!" The shield module on her arm lights up, calling out as it summons up a harsh crimson hard-light shield, going as wide as it can but light as air. And when she slams into the Endbringer, it'll negate her fall damage completely by BLOCKING THE GROUND. This doesn't work in terms of physics, but it does work in terms of concept. And the shield stays together, ready to try to block the inevitable counterattack...

Onikaze Kenshin (76) has posed:
Pulling the Watery Echo out of his opponent's body is good. But Kenshin can't take time to revel in his personal victory, as an even greater threat is arising from the Endbringer. Kenshin's face shifts to a scowl. He hates this opponent on some level, an instinctual level for Kenshin. As someone who walks in full balance and harmony with the Weaver, the Wyrm and the Wyld, to see such acts fills him with a hatred.

The swordsman steps forward and says defiantly, "NO." With an angry shout. He lifts his sword up and expels a massive wave of wind and force, trying to reinforce SERENITY and work with her deflection to protect people. He's bolstering the concussive sonic blast with simple, raw, physics defiance magic. Magic that seeks to create a stasis in the water, preventing it from moving and robbing it of all force. And a wind that tries to push against it along with Serenity's own maneuvers. Kenshin is trying to aid her.

But such intense magic takes its toll on Kenshin, and the violent forces and winds that whip around his body start to tear apart flesh and damage him with Retributions for his magic.

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
Leviathan's wave comes roaring through the air. People are screaming, shouting, huddling behind forcefields and telekinetic barriers...

AYAKO stops much of it from getting close...

SERENITY, BUBBLE MAN and ASCHE cancel out some of its forward momentum...

Buying time for THEO to stop it entirely, suspending the water in mid-air.

Leviathan pushes himself to his feet, turning his eyes here and there. It's hard to read the monster's body language, but it definitely seems surprised. He leaps right for Serenity and Asche and Bubble Man, whirling with his tail, sending water that hits harder than a concrete wall alongside the razor-sharp limb. His claws flash through the air, and he leaps away again - heading right for Ayako, who he attempts to crush with his serpentine tail.

STAREN shoots him right in the head, blasting some of his head free and revealing what must be the crystalline skull beneath. Leviathan stumbles back. AUROB stabs him into the foot, but it's hard to tell if it worked - it certainly penetrated, almost covering Auron in a spray of thick ichor from the wound. Gross. Leviathan turns away from Ayako, as Frederica rains fire down upon him, Legend next to her. Leviathan's flesh glows white hot, melting like glass. Leviathan's tail crashes into the building, and while FREDERICA might evade it - Legend isn't so lucky. He tumbles down, head over heels, into the water.

While Leviathan attempts to reach out and kill the people with powers to stop his waves, NOBLE SIX blasts him with the SPARTAN Laser, a ruby-red spear aimed at his chest. By now, Leviathan's flesh is missing in great places, ichor streaming freely from the wounds - and he seems none the worse for wear despite the simply ludicrous amount of blood he is losing. The sheer impact of Six's blow drives Leviathan back, and the energy sword bites deep, perhaps even down to his skeleton!

BITTER MEDICINE's blades bite deep as well, hacking into his midsection and legs. Leviathan stumbles, thrusts a claw out to steady himself against a building. He eyes KIYOKO's sudden robotic reinforcements, and decides that isn't the way to go. He's wounded, perhaps crippled.

And then he runs for it, displaying that blinding speed once again, although his strides are loping and painful. - he has to grab onto a building so he /slides/ around the corner, water following in his wake.

"He's running!" someone shouts and others cheer. Somewhere, Lezard might be cursing.

Zwei (596) has posed:
Weiss is on a roll on the extraction side of things, deposition a bundle of capes a safe distance away from the battlefield at a high location where they won't be flooded, and racing back into the fray. Pretty much skipping across the water from her speed, she takes a high speed swan dive into it as soon as it is deep enough, and snatches Legend out before he can start drowning, propelling herself underwater mostly by means of her jets than physical swimming. Bursting back out of the water, she takes high up into the air, waiting to see if the man is still conscious before doing anything else.

Asche drops the interception field as soon as the majority of the wave has passed, turning to follow Leviathan with uncanny accuracy. With the drones posted throughout the bay, it's a simple matter to find the beast, and so the Armiger takes to the air, accelerating well beyond the sound barrier as he hurtles right past Leviathan, banks back around, and then slams into the endbringer as a supersonic arrow. Asche is just under half Leviathan's height, and so manages to get his arms around its midsection, aiming to haul it off the ground with 11000 times the peak strength of a human, and then overtop of the buildings, taking a short flight back to where Lezard is setting up the runes, and basically piledriving him back into the ground.

Theo Morrison has posed:
Theo feels abruptly like he was an engine that just got jump-started. He jerks with a start, feeling a buzzing sensation through his body. Now he can /move/. He looks down at Aetherwright, a little surprised, but gives it a nod. "Right, let's go before it closes!"

Despite the water, Theo and Kickotron /move/. The speed increase is noticeable, and he's carried away from the spot he was fighting from and a few blocks over before he realizes how fast he's going. He gets up out of the water with the myr in tow, finding a parking garage's entrance and streaking up the ramp onto the second level. He thinks he's out of Leviathan's sight.

Leviathan is also out of his.

Theo looks around wildly, trying to spot the monster before he himself is caught offguard. There are enough capes nearby that he isn't wildly out of position, but he's on the fringes, now. He swallows, focusing on his own efforts. Untap, draw, play a land. He's hooked the Scepter into a loop hanging off his backpack.

"Okay... that wave isn't going to hold forever. We gotta keep it up there." He taps two, playing a card. "Jhoira's Timebug!"

A mechanical ant in dark blue, grey-brown and with eyes and mandibles of polished gold materializes. It's kind of big for an ant, but it's small enough that Theo has the construct perch on his shoulder without issue. "Alright. So now we've got a bug that can reinforce or strip away the time delay," Theo thinks aloud, "and a scepter that can further delay any indirect attacks it throws at us. Good. It's a start."

Theo's ideal end is one where /his/ giant monster beats down the other one.

Kiyoko Saito (131) has posed:
Hah! It worked! But now those duplicates are useless, so Kiyoko just lets them stay there. "Well, at least he's running. Thanks, Passion!" She's even using the short name! "Come on, Star! Let's hunt us an Endbringer!" The Warstrider braces, then launches into the air on wings of pink light, streaking high into the city to try to track the Endbringer that way. Shouldn't be too hard, right?

If she spots him, Kiyoko will launch a series of flares, trying to tail him and lead the others there.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"I will steady your hands." Shinrin says. "Installing cartridge." The effect is unusual. Unfortunately, it's less relevant here than it should be. Homura's LEVEL 1 CARTRIDGE seems to be a system that provides Frederica the ability to queue functions! "Rrrrh... Unfortunate. I will try to make it help anyway. Continue firing. I have an idea."

If Frederica continues firing, her attacks will seem to DISAPPEAR; they have been stored in the QUEUE, to be executed, in a huge volley, all at once, if Frederica can get sight of Leviathan and open fire. Alongside its normal, natural efforts to correct Frederica's fire into something that won't actually set stuff on fire or otherwise go off-track in the combat.

Auron (236) has posed:
...Well, that was a surprise. Fiends in Spira are spiritual beasts, so they very rarely have blood or bodily fluids to speak of. So when Auron gets sprayed with ichor, it does make him back away. And more than that, water swells up... and finally, with no more time to waste, Auron braces for the impact. But it doesn't happen. Thank the Fayth. Once he's confirmed this, there's a very slight sigh of relief. But there's no time for relaxing now.

Auron doesn't have the speed to keep up with the Endbringer, or any way to move faster than a man on foot. And he's a slow runner anyway. So instead he turns his attention elsewhere. The flooding shelter. He'll assist there while the others try to pin Leviathan down again.

Onikaze Kenshin (76) has posed:
Somewhat bloodied and worn, Kenshin flicks his sword and grabs a sheath from seemingly nowhere, sheathing the blade up and walking over towards Theo. The others are handling Leviathan at the moment and he needs a breather. He doesn't know many people here with him to associate. Kiyoko, but she's in a mech, so he can't really tell that it's her.

Instead, he wanders his way over towards a familiar-feeling force: Time Magic. Drifting in a meandering set of footfalls over towards Theo, the slightly bloody man looks at the and on Theo's shoulder. This may be an awkward moment, because they're complete strangers.

Kenshin reaches out a hand towards the bug and focuses his magic, using his own manipulation of time to synergize with the creature, giving it a boost to its natural capabilities of time manipulation.

Finna (513) has posed:
"Why did they not just get them OUT OF THE CITY?!" Finna trumpets, heading for the coordinates of the shelter. There's no helping the big mess, she's already dumped off everyone she can carry, and helpless people... well, it's their own fault for not leaving.

She can say that, but she still can't abandon them. Ugh. Heroics!

"I'm not even getting anything from all this!" So why is she doing it?

Ugh. Compassion without aim... things habve gotten weird since leaving creation.

Time to go help the people before they drown!

With the streets flooded, she abandons the mammoth form and instead becomes a Great Terror, an enormous four-legged beast with reeking carnivorous breath and a maw that's easy enough to gulp down half a man.

And this beast is SOMEHOW able to run across the water, leaving little silvery ripples with each step. Finna wastes no time. Spotting Auron on the way there, she grunts once, gesturing for him to get on. If he does, cool. ONWARDS. If not, oh well, ONWARDS.

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako sighs with relief when Staren's headshot causes Leviathan to stumble back from it's attempted tail swipe at her. She can't really do anything but keep her water control null barrier up just in case the Endbringer gives the ocean control another try. And so she continues to float in the air on her broomstick. Watching quietly.

Frederica (73) has posed:
Frederica's attack, when it came, would have probably been an impressive thing. No mere firebolt, it was a column of fire striking down from the sky like the wrath of a god. Or in this case, like the wrath of a girl who's got a few anger issues and a power that taps in to her emotions. The flames are almost solid, hitting and searing. Leviathan's defenses are strong of course, but damage is done.

Frederica had been prepared for retaliation. Still, it's one thing to be prepared and quite another to have the building you're standing on be crushed out from under you. While she's agile, she's not so hyperagile as to keep her balance in the face of the building-quake Leviathan's tail causes. With a shriek, she plunges into the water.

Unlike Legend however, Frederica can handle water. She's got the simple expedient of having an opposing power, one with the flexibility to allow her to escape some part of the dangerous plunge. She hits the water with a great rushing boil of steam, flame gouting around her to both cushion her fall and then keep her afloat.

It's a fairly simple expedient for Frederica to direct her sphere of fire to a dry area. Well, a relatively dry area. Nothing's dry in this city any more, but at least she can put something solid under her feet and resume. "Hmmmm." she muses, considering Shinrin's advice. She can sort of see what to do, having seen the magical girl fight once. She can fire, giving her attacks an initial starting vector, then hold on to them. Queue them, as Shinrin says. Then, when she sees Leviathan again, all she has to do is get to a position that will allow her arc of flames to complete themselves to the Endbringer's position, and release the queued attacks.

Frederica, speaking quietly, explains her thoughts to her Abstractum. "So if I target a spot a hundred meters out and ten meters higher than me, when he appears, we release the queued attacks when he's in the right position?" she asks. THAT ought to be effective... IF it works.

The pyro girl begins to do just that, picturing a range in her mind, building up a blast of flame, directing it, then releasing it to no apparent effect. "I hope this works!" she cries, preparing blast after blast in advance of Leviathan's next appearance.

Metal Man (11) has posed:
they seem to be driving off Leviathan with thier combined effort but now it's running? Oh no Metal Man intends to hunt it down.

"With me we finish this thing!"

Bubbl Man is having a bad day as he gets the hell smacked about but he says "...The white whale?! HA!"

WHAM okay that didn't work so well and Metal's now chasing after him. Saw blades are flying and Crash Man is fires off a pair of crash bombs they'd if they hit could dig into the skin and latch on to the beast before they explode powerfuly. They know they have to keep with it.

Heat Man is making his way along but is not happy about the water, while Bubble Man whom is damaged but is hot on the hunt he's also got a harpoon now!

Serenity (607) has posed:
Serenity was also blocking for Ayako, which meaans she can't even try to dodge. This results, predictably, in both wave and claw slamming into her. A blur is all that's visible... and not from her dodging, but from the maedra being slammed into the ground at high speed, crumpling the street and probably crumbling a building as well as she skids past. When she rises, she's coughing, and blood is misting the water around her. It's a bit of a delay until she rises, too. That kinda hurt.

But she has a mission, hearing about the shelter. Rising into the air with another crackling of electricity, she makes a furrow in the watter pooling around her in her haste to get to the flooding shelter. She doesn't even wait to land before she changes out of her current state.

'Pact Imbuement, Basilisk of Mount Trask,' Serenity states, changing in midair. The Basilisk imbuement changes her armor to a solid breastplate and chain, but it /can't/ fly, so she skids the rest of the way. What it can do is slam into the water at the side of the flooding shelter... causing it to solidify into stone for several meters around the leak, sealing it away.

"This won't last long, hurry up and get them free!" she calls to Auron and Finna.

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
The streets shatter around Leviathan as Zwei hammers him right into the ground. Buildings waver, windows shattering and Leviathan is still. For the moment, it seems like the beast is dead. And then he moves. Slowly, gingerly...

And rears back, out of the crater!

It's Armsmaster, a Halberd in each hand, swinging as fast as must be physically possible for him, locked in hand-to-claw combat with Leviathan.

Leviathan swipes his tail at Armsmaster's legs, who leaps over it. His blurry Halberd flashes through the air, hacking a great chunk from the Endbringer. He lands, drives the Halberd into Leviathan's knee, and brings the Endbringer down. Every attack from the Endbringer, Armsmaster dodges.

But he's panting for breath. "You dumb brute," Armsmaster growls, "Every fight you've done so far, that we've got on camera? I've watched it, put it through programs. I've got a computer on my back that's relaying to a supernetwork, noting your every move, using subsonic pulses to read every aspect of the street, the surrounding buildings, every feature of the terrain. I know exactly what you're going to do next - you're going to try and catch me from behind with a wave."

Leviathan lunges, a feint for the wave of water from behind. Armsmaster dodges, and vaporises the oncoming wave with a burst of plasma from his Halberd.

"You don't even speak English, do you? Or you'd know what I was saying, you'd know I already won. The others helped, slowing you down, stopping the waves. But this victory, this killing blow? It's going to be /mine/!"

And, as Leviathan leaps towards Armsmaster once again, thick ichor pouring from his wounds, Armsmaster counters each blow with his Halberds, sending out great plumes of vaporised matter where his weapons touch Leviathan's flesh and putting the Endbringer on the back foot. Armsmaster is /winning/.

    He's doing it.

    He's actually doing it.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Aetherwright is gasping a bit. Apparently conducting that magical bounceback is actually draining and stressful for it! The little crest is grunting with effort to sustain it until Theo gets to where he's going. It's a very flexible power since it might apply to so many cards, but it seems that it's very draining too!

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"Quite happy to help." Passion says in the same voice that mask always uses, so how does anyone know it's happy? Unfortunately, now, there's little else it can do besides provide a small amount of preparatory BARRIER DRIVER just in case Kiyoko gets targeted or goes under with all this awful water hazard.

Staren has posed:
Staren scores a perfect headshot! ...Leviathan isn't even stunned, although blowing his flesh off /is/ kind of satisfying. "Oh COME ON!" Then Staren gets an idea... if he could hit the skull with the RAISER rifle at full power, maybe... or if he teamed up with Asche...

But the monster is already on the move. Staren gives chase, firing weak homing beams from his legs more to keep pressure on than to do any damage. But Leviathan's fleeing into the city, and Staren loses sight of him...

Staren's machine leaps into the air and transforms again, flying towards the city.

MEANWHILE

In the city, Staren's construct army that was still on the way from the warpgate begins to spread out. Large stone spiders taller than a man, and short metal unicorn statues. Not great for offense, but Staren was hoping they might distract Leviathan into wasting some attacks on disposable minions. They've got radios, so now he can use them to find-- oh hey Zwei has it covered.

OKAY THEN

As Staren sees Asche flying with Leviathan through the air, Staren turns to fly after, briefly transforming to fighter mode and boosting to supersonic speed if needed -- With no squishy organic body to worry about, Staren can deal with much greater G-forces.

Staren's aim is to get in place to deliver what he hopes will be a devastating one-two punch.

"Eureka! Boost the power however you can! I'm gonna blow his head up!"

First, he needs to blow off what armor he can, so he does his best to line up another headshot with the Rotated railcannon. Then, once the skull is exposed...

A compartment on the hand opens, revealing what looks like a sleek black energy weapon sized for two-handed personal use.

Staren sets it to dump all of its power at once and fires the RAISER rifle at the head. Let's see how it likes /that/.

It's a good thing he has Psyber's cartridge slotted, or this would probably become a very bad day for Armsmaster.

AND THEN

After the attack is done, Staren slots the SAKURA TIER II cartridge. "Make my mecha generate and run on magic so we can power this thing, but keep the weapons as they are for now!"

Bitter Medicine (569) has posed:
Bitter Medicine isn't fast enough to catch up to Leviathan, even with his thrusters at full tilt. But there is something he CAN do. "Comrade Auron," he says over the radio. "Location. His black hair is matted to his face by the rain, the darkness casting glum shadows across his determined visage.

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
     Meanwhile, at the flooding bunker...

It's a big thing, all concrete and steel, like it was designed to weather a nuclear war unscathed. SERENITY, AURON and FINNA find dozens of people milling about outside, and many more on their way out of the shelter. With the door open, however, only more water is flowing in. People are worried, scared, huddling together. The sky flashes with lightning and roars with thunder.

Some of them shrink back from Finna's new form, however, finding AURON to be much more preferable.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
Lezard is cursing. Leviathan is getting away! Even with Armsmaster's valiant work, Lezard sees this opportunity slipping away. He mutters as the third beacon fires into the air, joining the other two. Another section of the area begins to get cut off, becoming a spatial wall. Raw power will not be able to cross that line, but if Leviathan had certain other powers, he could get out eventually. This isn't Timescrewery, it's spacescrewery. Related but different!

The drain is becoming a problem even for Lezard. When he does this, he usually has... other resources to help. Thankfully, others arealready moving to help. The beacons change color slightly as the other-worldly energy sources are added, changing to a color related to the power source.

Meanwhile, as Armsmaster duels Leviathan, Lezard works to finish the fourth beacon. "Just keep him inside." Lezard mutters. "Maybe we will be lucky and you will have the opportunity to sacrifice yourself for the cause."

Yeah, he's a bit of a jerk.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"Always on the defensive, huh guy? Go to save Alexandria, gonna work on this now... Well hey! Stick to what you know, right?" A sort of brief derisive laugh from Auron's sword. Then, "Ahahahahhh... Hmmnn. Yeah, okay, this is actually serious. Alright folks, calm down!" The sword is now yelling at them in a serious, calming sort of voice. It's gonna try to follow Auron's lead here.

Zwei (596) has posed:
(at Staren's request) The raiser shot fires a coherent bolt of electromagnetically bound photons slowed below the speed of light to gain 200 times their energy. The tiny, hard-light bullet hits with the kick of a kinetic energy penetrator fired from an artillery gun, keeps going until it is well within the target, and then violently switches states from particle to wave, exploding with ten times the energy of a HEAT shell in raw, thermal radiation, flash vapourizing matter around it and turning innards into incandescent plasma. Firing the rifle at full charge drains it completely, meaning it'll take far too long to recharge to be used a second time in combat.

Auron (236) has posed:
Suddenly /giant lizard/! But Auron recognizes that it's calling him to get on. So he does, sheathing Suchiru again as he grabs onto Finna's beast form and hangs on. Just as they reach the shelter and he jumps off, Bitter Medicine's words reach Auron. He pauses to place the Ethers -- three crystalline vials of a bright blue liquid -- in a reasonably safe place, and then sends the coordinates of the drop over the radio to Bitter.

Suddenly Serenity is turning the water into stone! Hopefully it'll hold long enough. He trusts that Serenity will do what she can. He heads quickly into the shelter and starts trying to pull people out. He doesn't bother prioritizing people. He just grabs who he can. "Don't be afraid of the creature. She's a friend," he assures the people.

And to the sword? "Best use of my time, helping out," he notes, partially in a teasing tone. Though there's a grim edge to it. Yes, even in the middle /all this/, he finds time to banter with Suchiru.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
The blasts Frederica provides are refined, precise, controlled; Shinrin is massively capable of dealing with this sort of thing, and stacking up the assault in a queue turns Frederica into vicious one-man artillery strike! The column of intense fire that blasts out of her while Armsmaster takes the Endbringer mano-a-mano. The effect is like a solid beam more than a wave of fire, and the impact is so controlled that it barely unsettles the surface of the water flooding the city.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Staren's machine spins up loudly. The relevant drives power as the gauntlet flares to a briliant azure hue, forcing the power to the maximum potential bandwidth of his machine.

Doubling up the rotation capacity using the SAKURA 2 CARTRIDGE, Staren occupies two of his cartridge slots now in order to Rotate some or even all of his reactor array! SPIRITUAL ENERGY saturates his machine instead of electrical energy, making it into a much more magical-looking thing. It seems to function really the same, but the glows, the lights, all take on an ethereal quality! It's now generating an equivalent quantity of SPIRIT POWER to its original electrical power.

Zwei (596) has posed:
Far be it that Zwei would get in Armsmaster's way at a moment like this. Attempting a kill stealing maneuver after the poor guy had put so much freakishly obsessive work into this victory would just be mean. Still, if he got smeared all over the floor by a misplaced step, that would ruin the Armiger's plans early, and so Asche moves to tip the tables even further in the Protectorate cape's advantage. Wheeling around for a second pass, like an out of control dive bomber, Asche grips the handle of his mecha-sized zweihander, trailing a bloody red afterimage behind it from the static photons running along its edge. Accelerating to an utterly ridiculous speed, he brings the massive sword down in a hypersonic slicing arc through one of Leviathan's shoulders, cutting into that crystalline flesh with an edge so fine it ceases to exist as a particle and transitions into a wave; simultaneously releasing several gigajoules of thermal energy in a flat, cutting plane parallel with the sword's blade to enhance the strike with a devestating, shearing explosion. If he can take one of the endbringer's arms off, it won't stand a chance in prolonged melee combat.

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
Perhaps it is the matter vaporising component of the weapon, but Staren's shot punches into Leviathan's exposed skull and shatters the visible area like so much broken crystal. Leviathan raises one claw to its face, as if shocked, before Armsmaster drives Leviathan to the asphalt with a powerful blow. Armsmaster rolls away and gets to his feet, wiping some bloody froth from his mouth. Zwei dives in, slams that blade into his shoulder, and practically cuts Leviathan from shoulder to hip, flesh glowing around the wound. But he still stands.

"/I/ am going to be the one to take your head, abomination. I can only hope you know mortal terror in your last moments, so you know what you've inflicted on so many others."

Leviathan stands, but makes no move to attack.

"Delaying?" Armsmaster asks, "Buying time for a tsunami?" He laughs. "No. Three point four minutes before the next big wave breaks through the ice. Dragon's probes are giving me the data on that. This will be over before then."

Armsmaster advances, and Leviathan shrinks backwards, tail thrashing.

    "Finally scared?" Armsmaster taunts. "Good."

He sets one Halberd onto his back and the other into a two-handed grip, and makes ready to leap. "I suppose I should thank you, monster."

And the ground rumbles. Brief, intense.

Armsmaster pauses, raises a hand to the side of his helmet as if to consult with someone. He frowns.

The already beleaguered street cracks, shattering as far as the eye can see. Leviathan rases a claw, and the /storm sewers themselves/ are torn from beneath the streets, like some sort of cthonic monster, sending water gushing towards Armsmaster!

And Armsmaster hesitates. He moves, but that vital moment has cost him. He uses one Halberd to freeze the oncoming water, then leaps up it like he's doing parkour.

On his final leap, Leviathan moves faster than he had in the last few minutes. Much faster.

And catches Armsmaster's Halberd in his claw, embedding deep into his palm. Armsmaster tugs, hard, and despite the great amount of dust and smoke it is throwing into the air, the blade refuses to move.

    "What!?" Armsmaster roars, "How!?"

He doesn't get to say anything more. The frustrated roar turns into an anguished scream as Leviathan takes his arm in his clawtips...

...and tears it free from his shoulder.

Displaying none of the frailty, pain or fear he had displayed moments ago, Leviathan raises himself up to his full height. Had he known that Armsmaster was able to predict his every movement? Had he fed the hero false information? Had it all been a ploy?

Leviathan drops Armsmaster's body, arm and Halberd into the water, face down, blood pouring.

The Endbringer rises to his full height. Unknowingly hemmed in, it turns to face all the gathered Elites. Perhaps it can sense it, because Leviathan raises his claws and draws them to his body. Water rushes in - from the bay, past the heroes at the bunker, from the city streets, from the storm sewers - and it all coalesces over Leviathan's body as a brand new after image.

    It's now or never.

    CURRENT SITUATION
    Save Armsmaster
    Defeat Leviathan
    LEVIATHAN IS TRAPPED

Theo Morrison has posed:
Theo notes the strain on Aetherwright and marks it for later. He doesn't need to tell it to cool it on the speed once they've stopped, but he keeps that one in mind. Flexibility has a cost. "Don't overdo it," he mutters in its direction.

Kenshin wanders up and pokes his ant. Theo looks at him awkwardly, and notes the sudden change. "...huh. Uh, thanks, guy. Um..." Theo notices the blood. He sticks a hand in his pocket. There's a flicker of white mana as he draws it out, and he tosses a small, round tin at him. It's full of a reddish substance and smells vaguely of roses. "Healing salve," he explains.

He turns back to his bird robot-carried tray, drawing a card off the top. "Oh, well, alright then." Flick. It goes right on the tray. "It's a Miracle! TEMPORAL MASTERY!"

Time gets very strange all around Theo -- and, by proximity, Onikaze. There's a definite bubble of blue light, shifting them temporarily away from the normal timesteam. Everything outside seems to be moving in incredibly slow motion, if not stopped entirely. They get a little more time to do things.

"You've got a sec if you wanna use that stuff," he asides, nodding at the salve's container. Theo taps some of his remaining mana. "Epochrasite!" A creature made of an arched metalic skeleton with hovering, angular pieces for its numerous legs appears. It has a ball of blue-white energy in it's chest. It's about the size of a small dog. Theo stretches, taking his sweet time about it while the ant on his shoulder keeps the time delay intact. "Okay. Turn two."

SNAP!! They're back to normal. Everything is moving at the same rate again.

"Ancestral Vision finishes casting." A brief window opens, another time portal. It shows Brockton Bay through it before all this happened in an idyllic, peaceful sight. Theo smiles a little, drawing a few cards. He plays more land. He's got a bunch now. "Umm... need to keep two open... Chronozoa!" There's a flash of white Aether, and an enormous, horse-sized, apparently-single-celled organism starts to float lazily in the air.

"Go find downed friendlies and get them to safety," he orders. The Chronozoa, already a little translucent, blorbs off through the air to do just that, scooping capes out of the water with orange tines of solid not-quite-lightning and bringing them to the nearest safe places. Theo looks to the ant, and the Timebug keeps going, the temporal barrier around the tidal wave growing even stronger. Plenty of time, now.

He hopes.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
That impact should have hurt like hell, but it didn't. Noble Six is instantly thankful for Enforcer's presence even more than usual, as she drives the blade into the Endbringer, and leaps off, landing in the knee deep water and rolling over a couple of times. Leviathan is running away. Six knows she'll need to go after him, she definitely doesn't want him to escape. It takes some time to recoop her position but she soon after Leviathan again. Her jetpack has warmed back up and she takes to the air again. She's not gonna be able to chase him in the water, so she'll have to get up onto a rooftop. Maybe she can come down on top of Leviathan and finish him off. She's racing along the rooftop, trying to get caught back up with the Endbringer. As soon as the SPARTAN laser finishes its recharge, she can unleash it one more time, and hopefully put an end to this.

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako drops her barrier for a moment to relocate herself to best stop the waves of water coming in from the bay. In particular... she makes sure to place herself at the right position to intercept any water waves coming in to hit the buildings that Lezard's sealing beacons are on! "Null Barrier of Water Control!" And so Ayako resumes being a water spirit water break!

Serenity (607) has posed:
Serenity's summon is still helping Ayako control the flooding. Serenity herself is frowning, then waving the civilians out. "I'll see if they need help." She doesn't /leave/ yet, but she does change forms.

'Pact Imbuement, Angel of Sunset,' she states, her armor shifting to light chain and leather and wings unfolding from her back. She can't make it within sight of Leviathan right yet, however.

Zwei (596) has posed:
Pride cometh before the fall. The man who insists he never makes mistakes, just made a huge one. And with all this goodwill from his allies too.

Weiss goes back into action, diving to the streets dangerously close to Leviathan, briefly scanning Armsmaster for damage, and then producing her wrist mounted multiweapon; generating a precise, low powered laser rather than something designed to kill. With a rapid series of pinpoint flashes, she essentially solders his veins closed, hopefully preventing him from bleeding out, though she can't reattach his arm. Picking him up in both arms, she actually sighs to herself as she takes him to where she'd dumped all the other capes, pretty much adding him to the pile of those he had judged his inferiors.

On the Asche side of Zwei's brain, it is practically elated that Armsmaster is out of the way. Without the superhero trying to gloryhound, it gets to see every Elite present go absolutely ham on the enemy. Asche spins to a halt and seemingly hunches over in midair for a second, opening the launch bays in his back normally used for the tiny recon drones, and switching them over to something else. He fires them off all at once, letting loose a shrieking salvo of small, smokeless missiles that trace a wide arc through the air before spiralling into Leviathan from all angles, smashing into the screen of water surrounding him and slowly pushing through with their rocket propulsion. They all make contact simultaneously, and as they do, all twelve of them set of a deuterium-tritium fusion reaction inside their warhead, and blast nuclear fire into Leviathan in precisely shaped charges; directing 100% of their energy into the target rather than causing a shockwave.

Bitter Medicine (569) has posed:
Bitter Medicine's scowl intensifies. He looks down at his payload--three mana potions, courtesy of Auron. "Delivering relief in three, two, one." He descends, spinning into a barrel roll and dropping the potions just over Lezard's position, not unlike a bomber plane. With a roar, he's back off again, arms locked at his side.

He presses a finger to the transceiver on his temple. "Armsmaster, you had better not die on me, you bastard." With his threat delivered, he heads to threat at hand, murder in his eyes. His anima begins to flare with all of this Essence expenditure. First, purple sparks arc from his soulgem, then outright streaks of purple lightning. He reaches Leviathan and unleashes upon it the motherload of all shit.

The plasma jets cut off, and Bitter Medicine flies feet first towards the Endbringer, having designated its massive body as 'down' for the purposes of gravity--with something as big as Leviathan, getting a pissed-off Exalt to piss off is going to be tough indeed. He splashes through the screen of water with a shout, then runs up the creature's chest, setting Voidbane loose.

Like a wasp from hell, the gyroscopic chakram works in tandem with Zwei's nukes, zipping across the creature's flesh with what can only be described as... well, as /hunger./

Onikaze Kenshin (76) has posed:
Kenshin nods back to Theo and responds with, "You are welcome."

He looks confused as a tin of rose-scented cream is handed to him, looking more knowingly when it is described as a healing salve, "Ah. My thanks."

He takes the salve on his fingers and rubs it into his wounds vigorously, "This will be useful when I return to the fray. Thank you once more." He adds, calmly rubbing it into his wounds before setting the empty tin back down on the ground and pausing for some time to let it work while he catches his second wind (Haha, wind jokes).

Theo then gets to overhear him talking to himself, "They say the time the wind is most dangerous is when it stops blowing. No movement of air means stagnation, stillness, and non-progress. The wind carries life, and with it, change."

The swordsman smiles at Theo, "My thanks once more."

"That is enough, Leviathan," Kenshin says seriously, leaping upwards and simply running along the air itself moments later. He holds his sheathed blade in his hand.

"LEVIATHAN!" Kenshin shouts, coming down to land in the flooded streets, blade in hand, "This is far enough. And now I shall impose on you a worse fate than any I have ever fought before."

There's a click as he loosens his blade from the saya, gripping it in one hand and slowly drawing it with a crackle of wind, "Death is too good. For the destruction you have wrought, I will carve for you a moment. It may cost me life and limb, but I will sever you from this flow they call time."

A LOT of this is theatrics. He wants to distract Leviathan so that Weiss can evacuate the injured man safely. And that's the only reason Kenshin is doing a speech.

His wrist flicks and the blade comes up, cutting through water, "I sentence you to an eternity, trapped in an instant, bound in a moment."

"I will carve your existence out of this timeline and trap you forever as you are now."

With a whirl of his hand, Kenshin darts forward. Curiously, he's not striking AT Leviathan. He has a much riskier and much more dangerous plan, both for himself and for Leviathan.

He is cutting the reality around Leviathan. He has never tried this before. He is in wholly new territory as each stroke seeks to sever the fabric of time that surrounds Leviathan. Kenshin cannot kill the beast, but he can seek to do worse.

Every stroke of his blade seeks to cut time. And in turn, every time he does so he damages his own body's capacity for power. He's overloading his own power with every strike, invoking terrible retributions upon himself as parts of his body compensate for isolated time by accelerating portions of his own being. One of his injuries, before the eyes of all watching, grows infected, rots, and then the flesh necrotizes to nothing. Another of his injuries exacerbates, resets, and then is renewed. The person flow of time around his body is repeating, recycling, and re-injuring him to compensate for the total stasis he's trying to impose.

In short, Kenshin's sword strikes are trying to steal Leviathan's personal time and inflict it upon himself to trap the Endbringer in a single moment as he is now.

Of course, this is all new spellcraft for him and may not fully work.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
Those within the barrier square (e.g. those who want to have direct access to Leviathan) might want to pay attention at this point. Triumphantly, Lezard looks up towards the sky, and the fourth beacon fires into the air. Lezard's voice begins to echo as he incants the final part of the ritual. This cannot be hidden, the power is too great to disguise.

"Severance of air and earth, divided between breaths, the sword of my will cleaves away the flesh of the land! With my hands, I shape as the gods shape, and rend from this existence the essence contained here!"

The four beacons then descend, crossing to meet at the centerpoint, creating a defined cubic barrier. The beacons flare, and the runes illuminate brightly.

Space distorts, the mingled magical power fueling the barrier creating a sort of faint oil-slick shimmer in the air at the edge, light creating a kind of prismatic effect. If the four points hold and they continue to be provided with power, Leviathan will never escape.

Of course, neither will anyone else inside unless they can manipulate space, teleport, create a counterforce, or ask Lezard nicely to let them out.

Lezard smiles, taking the the potions that have ben delivered to him and smiling faintly. "I suppose this event is costing the poor man..."

He adjusts his glasses, the lenses glinting.

"... An arm and a leg." He smiles.

Staren has posed:
Staren gets his chance, he lands his attack, and successfully EXPLODES part of LEVIATHAN'S HEAD!

It's not enough. Of course it's not. "Gah..."

Leviathan has stopped, though, and Staren couldn't care less about Armsmaster wanting to score the killing blow. There'lll be time to deal with that LATER.

While waiting for the railgun to recharge, he fires another volley of 'homing lasers' and a couple dozen more missiles of various sizes -- Unlike the plasma missiles, these are designed to ram into Leviathan in hopes of maybe breaking his skin and then exploding underneath. Staren's not so hopeful that it will do much more than distract Leviathan while the mecha takes position where Lezard indicates, to be a power source.

    Armsmaster goes down.

The cockpit opens and Staren flies out on wings of energy. He's ready to cauterize Armsmaster's-- oh, Zwei got him. Okay, great.

Staren closes in. "That seemed to work pretty well on him. Keep the mecha power rotated for the barrier, and if you can, rotate my particle cannons into RAISER weapons."

Staren flies arouns Leviathan, looking for an opening to blast the head or joints.

Frederica (73) has posed:
Frederica laughs as Shinrin releases her pent-up fire strikes. Her laugh begins pure, a release of joy at seeing the unexpectedly beautiful outcome, and at seeing the seeming inevitability of Leviathan's defeat. It quickly turns to a chortle, then edges close to a cackle, as Armsmaster faces the beast down, defeating its every move before it begins.

Her laughter chokes off abruptly, however, when Leviathan reveals its own trap. "No." she says, quietly, almost under her voice. Too quiet for others to hear though, through all the noise of combat. Then she repeats it. "NO!" she cries, shrieking her denial, rushing forward. Only to find that there's no solid footing, nothing to do, nowhere to run. Water is everywhere, and there's little she can do.

That is, little she can do unless she's willing to risk everything. The smile on Frederica's masked face now isn't one of pleasure. It isn't even slightly a happy sort of smile, but a grimace of determination and perhaps madness. "Pyro Queen." she intones. "Salamandra!"

With a great burst of steam, FireFox resolves her movement difficulties. To counter the Endbringer of water, she brings forth her own elemental form. A stocky thing, perhaps not quite half Leviathan's size, but equally monstrous. Salamandra is an egg-shaped beast of living flame, and it surrounds Frederica, striding through the water with steam gouting forth from its every step. She advances on Leviathan, prepared to unleash her strongest attacks to help finish it off.

The waters, bowing before Salamandra's mighty stride, do have their cost to the pyro girl however. Fire turns water to steam, but water disrupts the elemental as well. Frederica, within the elemental beast, suffers as much as Salamandra does. She renews the flames, but at a cost. Her own skin seems to boil off her. Not literally, but the sensations are much the same.

Ignoring the pain as best she can, she continues to advance. Salamandra trails liquid fire, its surface beginning to slough away, but the core of flame is still bright within the clouds of steam. When she gets close enough to the melee, she lashes out. "Pyro Queen! Salamandra, Flame Whip!" she cries, drawing one fiery arm back and then striking with the white-hot whip, aiming to shear through Leviathan.

Auron (236) has posed:
The sound of Armsmaster screaming over the radio draws a wince from Auron. He can't get to the cape in time; he's too far away. "Damn it," he mutters under his breath. He doesn't know exactly what's happened, but he knows it can't be good. So he requests over the radio, <<Someone get Armsmaster. Sounds like he's in serious trouble. I'm too far away.>> He is, too. The shelter is far enough away that he can't get there in time to help.

Hearing plans to help Armsmaster being made, Auron worries a little less. He can't afford to get distracted here, though. Ugh, he should have conscripted the Crusaders from his world to help with these efforts. With the Al Bhed machina transports now being used, them getting from place to place wouldn't have been a problem.

    In fact...

Auron's signal cuts out on the main radio briefly, as he calls someone in his world. <<Rikku. Get as many Crusaders on the Fahrenheight as possible and get them to my coordinates. Fast. Bring some Blitzers. The city's flooded.>>

Finna (513) has posed:
The Great Terror is actually like some giant feline/canine hybrid with the ugliest face in the world and thick armor-like hide, and it stinks something fierce, but boy can Finna make that form move. As soon as Auron jumps off Finna shrinks back into human form... she's here at the shelter, but what's going on?

Metal Man (11) has posed:
Bubble Man was made for water related comabt he's very good at it, he's not helpless on the lanmd but is most useful in the water and here he comes with the monster causing good deal chaos Armsmaster's ass is in the fire while ahem they seen what he is like he's an ally and they have their personal honour to think about. They are not like Bass after all.

"YOU BEAST I AM..."

HE twists as he closes with the harpoon.

"A MAN!"

He zips to the left a bit.

"OF!"

THen he makes his move the energy harpoon powers up it's beam tiup as he hurrls it at the hulking L:evithan.

"THE SEA!"

Metal Man wmeanbwhile is tatching up and letting his blades fly as does Crash man with more crash bombs.

Felash mean meanhwhile seems to be ooking up with theo.

"Kid So I got an idea can you jack me up with time?!"

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
The battle is joined. The remaining capes bring out their best - but there's not many left. Chevalier braces himself against a wrecked truck and begins opening fire with his cannon blade. Lightning arcs from Myrddin's staff. Fireballs, lasers, telekinetically-thrown projectiles - all hammer into Leviathan.

Leviathan responds by leaping forwards, throwing out his water image. The moment it is gone, NOBLE SIX's SPARTAN laser finds its mark in the grievous wound in Leviathan's shoulder. Somehow, he can still use that arm - slowly, gingerly, and he sends a great geyser of water towards the rooftop she's racing across!

ASCHE'S missiles strike true, and the firepower is simply phenominal. Leviathan is thrust back against the barrier, but not out of the trap set by Lezard. When the smoke clears, Leviathan is little more than a crystalline skeleton, flesh hanging off his bones in ribbons thanks to BITTER MEDICINE'S efforts, great gouges in his skeletal frame, green eyes set in a broken skull. And he's trying to run for it, but the barrier is holding him in place.

He redoubles his efforts as KENSHIN sets upon him, sword flashing. Does Leviathan know what's happening? He's demonstrated remarkable intelligence before. He thrusts his shoulder against the barrier, trying to escape, to break free!

STAREN blasts away at Leviathan's joints, hammering at his shoulder, elbow, neck. The crystalline structure begins to fracture, and crack...

But Leviathan's watery mirror image is still in the air, and FIREFOX is ready. All that fire, all that power. She annihilates Leviathan's afterimage, vaporising it into steam, and then sets that same fire to blast at Leviathan. It burns hot, but not hot enough to shear right through him, but it lashes deep, melting that crystalline skeleton in places. And there's barely any water left in the street, too - and it's that same water that probably prevented Firefox from burning down the entire distrect with her flames!

Like hunting the great whale, BUBBLE MAN's harpoon slams into Leviathan's ribcage, embedding between a set of ribs. METAL MAN's blades rain down on him, while CRASH MAN throws bombs.

And, so, Leviathan decides to fight. He turns from the barrier, throwing his claws and skeletal tail in every direction - and they still cut as well as they ever had. Anyone too close, inside the barrier, is going to face the full fury of a cornered Endbringer!

     However, there's a problem.

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
SCION himself, the Golden Man, the first parahuman, lands a short distance away. Sadness radiates off the gold-skinned glowing man, and he walks forwards, towards the barrier. He stops, tilts his head, and places a hand against the invisible demarcation.

He's disrupting it. What, is he annoyed that someone is trying to steal his thunder!? Someone needs to get him away from the fight or he's going to let Leviathan get away!

Theo Morrison has posed:
Theo nods, apparently in acknowledgement, and then looks at Kenshin curiously for a second. He watches him go. "Good luck," he calls. Theo relocates to the other side of the garage, so he gets line of sight on Leviathan... and then Scion shows up, and starts to screw things up after they /finally got it going/.

"Uh, Timebug, work with him, do the time thing for him." The ant hops onto Flash Man's shoulder. It's a robot ant, supercharged with temporal manipulation abilities. Theo leans to the side, sighting him. He goes through the motions, takes a breath, and...

"Hey you, cut the crap! /REALITY STROBE/!"

Space warps. Time twists. There's an echoing effect, of things Scion is about to do and has already done, stretching out to either side of him. And then... well, if the spell actually /works/, he'll get bounced back to wherever it is he came from, cast far, far away, giving them a chance to finish this off.

"GET SOME," Theo bellows, unable to contain himself.

Kickotron looks unimpressed.

Staren has posed:
Staren is now trapped out of his mecha! Good thing he's in his robot body. He blasts away at Leviathan but it's still not enough -- soon he's facing the trapped Endbringer. "Oh, you got someone to save you now? I DON'T CARE. THIS ENDS NOW." Staren holds his arms up in front of his face, crossing them. Electricity surges, arcing over his arms, glowing brightly, and then he flies right at the Endbringer. <<Eureka! Forget the particle cannons, make THIS zap him with photonic molecules instead of electricity! Boost it as much as you can!>>

He tries to fly up and stick his hands into Leviathan's head or chest, hoping to melt his way through the outer armor and then have his hands melt Leviathan from this inside!

It's JUST CRAZY ENOUGH TO WORK! ...Right?

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
Scion turns abruptly, looking up towards Theo - no matter the distance, no matter the issues of line of sight.

He's there, and then just as suddenly gone, reverted to somewhere else on the globe.

Serenity (607) has posed:
Fortunately Serenity was already flying for the trap... and Scion. Seeing the supposed Parahuman land actually makes her /stop/ and stare, floating in midair... and that's when she has her little freakout over the radio. "What is THAT?!" She's staring at some point vaguely over Scion's head, as if she's having trouble perceiving exactly what he looks like. This would be the case, because for her, he looks vaguely like a massive disruption in the way things 'should be' that's only vaguely there.

By the time she gets there, he's already fled, however. The maedra frowns, folding her wings around her.

Onikaze Kenshin (76) has posed:
--- 387 Minutes From Now ---

While sitting in a medical room recovering from his wounds from this fight, Kenshin will abruptly cry out in extreme pain. Doctors, who had been treating up and stitching up numerous superficial wounds and trying to get him to free up the bed for the more injured, will be baffled to find that Kenshin's torso has been sliced open from shoulder to hip in a life-threatening wound that exposes his internals, his ribs and bones, and threatens his life.

"Get him to ER! We need surgery prepped NOW. It must have been internal and just ruptured. We're lucky this man checked himself in voluntarily ten minutes ago!"

Doctors wheel him off on a gurney for extensive surgery, blood pouring down his chest and torso and soaking the bed under him in a deep crimson as crash carts, alarms and doctors from all over the building assemble on a man whose upper body just ruptured in the course of three seconds with no warning.

--- But In The Present ---

In the present, however, a baffling thing occurs. Leviathan's claws pass THROUGH Kenshin's body. It can FEEL the sensation of tearing flesh and bone, creating a massive injury across his body and opening up what would be a lethal wound were it not treated immediately.

Kenshin, however, is entirely unharmed. He looks up at Leviathan, "That will not save you. You are only delaying me." Kenshin says firmly, a cold look on his face.

"Destiny is dead. Fate is severed. The future is cut and your threads to the past are dwindling.

Kenshin continues to angrily swing his sword, feeling true rage at this being for the first time since his world ended. He does not care the cost to himself, and he does not care about the injuries he will move to the future. He will see this through to the end. And he cannot let Scion distract him from this goal. He is flying dangerously close to the sun and does not want to risk his concentration breaking for even an instant.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
Everything was going to plan. The plan was infallible. Some people can die, the beast would be killed, and everyone could go home happy.

And then Scion showed up. Lezard is taken off balance, forced to exert every ounce of his own talent to keep Scion from simply punching through like it was glass. Spatial magic is powerful, but brittle. The Sorceror of Midgard is about to engage an alternate plan when Theo buys them more time. Lezard straightens, adjusting his glasses and smoothing out his disheveled stare as he resumes normal operations. The Ethers are helping.

Though he does look contemplative. Hmmmm...

Auron (236) has posed:
There's talk on the radio of Scion having showed up. Which is good. However, Scion appears to be trying to disrupt the barrier that has been put up to contain Leviathan. Which is /very bad/! What's this cape doing?!

It's too far away, he won't get there in time. But maybe he can cut some time down. He heads for the nearest fire escape and heads up to the roof of the building. Then, using the skills he learned when he was a member of the Assassins, Auron starts across the roofs, trying to get to the area where Scion is throwing a spanner into the works.

It's going to take him some time to get there. But he's on the way. Still bleeding from his earlier injury to Leviathan's tail, but he's going that way!

Zwei (596) has posed:
It says something about Zwei's sensors if it can detect temporal anomalies, because Weiss seems to pick up on the gist of what Kenshin is trying to do immediately. Signalling Asche, the larger armiger dives out of the air in another blistering, supersonic attack, smashing into the endbringer with another sweep of that enormous sword, aiming to take that offending arm completely after not quite managing it the first time, or at the very least, knock it away from the time manipulating swordsman.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
Eureka swaps the Rotation of the railgun onto Staren's arms! They turn into PURE LIGHT WEAPONS! The gauntlet's now mounted on hard-light arms, which should punch harshly into any surface they come into contact with and release bursts of photonic energy!

Frederica (73) has posed:
There is a price. There's always a price.

Frederica pays little to summon Salamandra or to lay about with the horrendous Flame Whip. They're ultimate expressions of her power under control, but she can call and hold them in hand for time enough to make a good fight. All the water, however, is her nemesis. Water, as everyone knows, extinguishes fire. A hot enough flame can boil away water, but not without getting reduced in turn.

For wading in, literally, to her power's own nemesis... Frederia pays the price. After landing her powerful lash attack, she's done everything she can. She's felt the water extinguish her flame, like an acid dissolving her own skin. It doesn't matter that physically she's unwounded. Psychically, where it counts, she's taken as deadly a blow as that which she dealt out. She took it over a longer period of time, less traumatic but still just as painful. And when she finally was able to deliver the blow, it was all she was good for.

The fire elemental winks out in a final burst of steam. Within, FireFox slumps to the ground. Fortunately much of the water is boiled away, or she'd be at risk of drowning. As it is she's down, though there's no sign of wounds. Only those who were close enough to hear her shrieks of pain as she waded through the water would have some idea what trauma she's suffered. For the rest, all they'll see is the red-clad pyro collapse as her flaming elemental extinguishes.

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
Who knows whether Leviathan can understand KENSHIN'S words, or grasp the true meaning behind them. But the Endbringer seems to know he's responsible, and even as he slows, the Endbringer continues to try and strike him!

If not for ASCHE and STAREN, it's likely that Leviathan would have found some way to tear him limb from limb. Asche's enormous blade almost bisects the Endbringer, but Kenshin's ability is having some effect now because nothing - no past, no future - is seeming to stick. Leviathan is slowing...

     ...slowing...

Metal Man (11) has posed:
Bubble Man had had this moment perhaps for a very long long tik but he's done his but he's cored a hit and he lets out a cry as he moves in. The trio of Robot masters are moving in but they hear over the comm they got omsehing else to worry about yes Scion is he being pissed off that they are taking the glory.

"... Flash Man did something like that once."

Metal Muses and Flash Man speaks over ove the radio noting it got him cut in half for it. They are going to have to let goldie be handeld by the others.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
Poor Noble Six had been caught up Leviathan's whirlwind of water. It seemed like she might be lost, but the armor is fully sealed and has an air supply. She wasn't going to drown, but it's also hard to swim in so much armor. She shoots out of the water after a few moments, jetpack launching her into the sky once again.

The SPARTAN Laser pings as it finishes it's charge cycle. The weapon is down to a 50% charge, she's only got two shots left with it. She's never seen anything take two shots, along with everything everyone else is doing, and keep on coming. She's got two good shots left, and if the creature stays alive after those, she's officially out of weapons. She has to use her jetpack to get into position.

As soon as she lands, she unslings the weapon one more time, and levels it at the weakened Leviathan, "No escape this time, Endbringer. This'll be the last time you hurt anyone.." And then she squeezes the trigger, and unleashes a third beam of crimson energy towards her target. If this isn't enough to put it down, she's running out of ideas.

Theo Morrison has posed:
If that guy ever spoke, Theo thinks he'd have words to share with him, and they would be... /unkind/. Fortunately, Theo is still going, on and on. Untap, upkeep, draw, main one. It's a mantra that he never thought he would be using to save his own life.

He sets his creatures out to retrieve the fallen. The enormous Chronozoa and the smaller, faster Epochrasite scatter into the city, grabbing bodies and ferrying the maimed away. Theo looks at what he just drew, and then looks at the Endbringer, the monster rapidly slowing. If it's a trick and it's just trying to bide its time to break free, well...

    Time Stop            4UU

    Instant

    End the turn.

...it isn't going to get very far.

Zwei (596) has posed:
Holding Leviathan off of Kenshin comes first, but there's no reason Zwei can't take advantage of it and blow the thing to pieces at the same time. Hearing over the radio that Bitter Medicine is out for Frederica already, Weiss stays put to scan the temporal event taking place in stead, recording every little bit of data she can as Asche fights the good fight. The flying Armiger hacks away at the endbringer with tremendous force, weaving in and out of its swings as it dramatically slows down, making it much easier to evade, and giving more time to counterattack. The blade bites into the creature's skeleton over and over again, letting loose flaming blasts of high energy breakdown everywhere at hits, steadily trying to maim the beast to the point that it can't fight back; buying the last few seconds for the coup de grace.

Staren has posed:
Staren dumps all the energy of the attack into Leviathan. There is a great flash of light and probably a /wicked/ explosion.

Then Staren kicks off of Leviathan, since he's so slow, and lands nearby, stumbling a little weakly, steam or perhaps smoke rising off his body.

He did his big attack. He hopes it's enough.

Serenity (607) has posed:
Being outside the barrier Lezard set up, Serenity isn't going to risk trying to punch through it just to get some shots in... and isn't going to ask, either. Kenshin and the others inside seem to have things under control, so Serenity just... takes to the air and swoops back along the battlefield, looking for any wounded that may need transport.

Her Summon, of course, is wrapping up any flooding that got through and moving to aid Ayako, toward the frozen wall of water.

Auron (236) has posed:
A human man can only parkour across a city so fast without gadgets. No ziplines to swing from, no flying devices to use to get there faster. But as severely out of breath as he'll be when he gets there, he /will/ eventually get there, to the site of Leviathan's trapping. He too has precious few options available to him, too. Drawing his Abstractum again, he asks, "Suchiru. Can you enhance Banishing Blade?"

Whether the answer is yes or no, though, Auron is going to do it. He transfers Suchiru to his left hand, just long enough to pick up his sake jug from the right side of he belt. To Suchiru, he offers, "Sorry. Brace." He puts the jug to his lips and tips it back. But instead of drinking it... he sprays it from his mouth. Onto Suchiru. EW!

He then transfers the sword back to his right hand and pulls as much qi into the blade as he can. Light sparks to life around the blade, coalescing into three runic rings around the blade, as orbs of golden light swirl around it, then gather into the blade. The orbs coalesce into a bright aura around the blade, and then Auron swings the sword down, carving into the roof under his feet.

From the split, four orbs fly up, towards Leviathan. Hopefully they'll hurt if they hit. And they'll also try to seal some of the Endbringer's power.

Abstractum.Net (347) has posed:
"Hey, if it involves striking, I probably can, guy!" Suchiru says, flaring with soft red light. "Just say the-- Augh! Bro! What!" The blade's soft red glow doesn't falter, but the eye seems so baffled and confused. "Man, what?!"

"Guh, okay, whatever, Strike Driver!" The blade flashes with a brief red fire all down its length as it's plunged into the roof, attempting to compound and increase the various STATUS EFFECTS!

Onikaze Kenshin (76) has posed:
Kenshin can move a fatal wound into the future maybe once. Had he doublestacked, the trauma alone would have killed him. Because of this, he is immensely grateful for the intervention of both Staren and Asche in providing him with cover from the retribution of the Endbringer for what Kenshin is doing to him.

Kenshin's ability is conceptual in nature, so it's largely thanks to everyone else, from Staren's onslaughts of attacks to Theo's outside intervention of spells, and to the many others trapping and bombarding this creature with waves of attacks that he is able to gain the time and focus to do his maneuvers and bring Leviathan to a slow. Lezard, providing the barrier to keep him trapped. Auron and his sword strikes, Serenity holding off the flood of the wave. Noble Six coming in with her laser to blast it. All of these give him the openings to carve off the pieces he needs, and these people are ones he is grateful for. Frederica and her fire, more damage. Every wound inflicted is a brick in the wall, or in some cases a support beam for the prison.

His normally brown eyes are glowing with energy and an aura of wind and time surrounds him as he moves forward, focusing his years of swordsmanship, his months of practice with his abilities, and his natural senses into what he's doing.

To give a rough analogy on how difficult this is for him, imagine trying to defuse a bomb while doing brain surgery on the side.

Just one wrong move and he collapses a timeline right on top of him, freeing Leviathan to rampage and trapping himself in the prison instead. One misaimed strike and the entire plan backfires. He takes a deep breath and focuses the last of his maneuvers.

"Now, the line is slowed and whittled," He says rhythmically, stepping forward with his blade in hand.

    "A blade strikes true.
    Wind, blowing. Time is severed.
Beauty of instant."

He speaks a haiku calmly, bringing his blade in for one more strike. If he's right, it's the last one he needs to whittle Leviathan's entire existence down to a painful instant. No regeneration from his wounds, trapped in an eternal stasis. He turns his back to the Endbringer and sheaths his sword, "It is done. The wind will blow no more."

Blood from his many timelooped wounds covers the swordsman. He looks tired, exhausted beyond all imagination. For many, this was an afternoon of battle. For Kenshin, due to the repeated time stacking, this was a battle of months in scale. He looks ready to collapse. He also looks like he's aged almost a year over the course of the battle.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
At this point, its up to the heroes to do their thing. Lezard simpl waits to watch to see how this pans out. Onikaze's ability causes him to lan in, paying close attention to what happens below. It's not every day that someone gets to see this kind of phenomena.

Armsmaster (554) has posed:
     Slowing...

         ...slowing...

             Stopped.

And just like that, it is done. Leviathan is held in place, his crystalline skeleton frozen in that exact moment - claws outstretched, tail whirling around him. An eternal monument to man over nature, of hero over villain. The rain has long since stopped and the black storm clouds have brightened to a muted grey. It's funny - the Leviathan-statue will probably look almost beautiful when the light hits it at just the right angle.

They might not have done the impossible - killing the Endbringer, but essentially removing it from existence provides a similar effect. Leviathan will not trouble anyone else ever again.

And is, unknowingly, much better for the world.

All that remains now is the rebuilding and the healing. Kenshin will get first-rate attention at the local hospitals, even as they already overflow with cape wounded.

Staren has posed:
Staren takes a few seconds to recover from straining his systems. He watches Leviathan warily. "...Is it done? ...Thanks, Eureka. Thanks, everyone."

After a few more seconds, he strides over to Frederica, kneels by her, and looks over her briefly. "No apparent injuries." He pulls a potion from his bag. "Eureka, can you Rotate this healing potion to help... whatever kind of injury she's sustained?" If so, he applies it -- either way, he carries her to the barrier and then knocks on it with his hand. "Hey. Can you let me out?"

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
The very instant Leviathan is completely stopped in time is one when Ayako finally drops her barrier. She knows exactly when that outside influence of water stops. Of course, she wastes no time, leaning forward and gripping the broomstick's handle with both hands. Theo needs to still be saved from that wave of water still, after all!

A blast of water pours out of the broomstick's brush and Ayako is propelled quickly towards the wave of water. She shoves her broomstick downwards and dives into the wave frozen in time and... sucks all of the water into her body.

Even after that, Ayako hops off her broomstick and points the brush straight up-and starts to serve as a moving water absorber for the excess water in the city in a 30 meter radius around her.

Onikaze Kenshin (76) has posed:
Kenshin stands perfectly still for a long moment and says, "I said before. The wind does not yield to the water. The waves break for the storm."

It's a quiet tone, one said distantly and tiredly before he promptly collapses facefirst into the water from exhaustion.

Staren has posed:
Staren hears a splash and looks behind him. "Oh. We should get him, too." He sets Frederica down so she's sitting with her back against one of the pylons, then hurries over to pick Kenshin up too and bring him to the barrier.

Theo Morrison has posed:
The Endbringer goes down.

Theo breathes a sigh of relief. He leans on the short wall, putting his hand face-down on the carried table. "Good game," he mutters, a habit he has yet to break. He looks up at the /enormous wave/ and mutters into his radio, then lets the water-handling types, uh, handle it, because he definitely can't. It is not just him; he froze the whole first tidal wave, and now the temporal delay is gone.

Theo looks down at Aetherwright. "That was intense. Thanks for the speed-up; didn't know you had it in you."

Kickotron goes unappreciated in his time.

Onikaze Kenshin (76) has posed:
Kenshin doesn't need to be carried so much as helped up, but he does use Staren for support as he's escorted to the edge of the barrier, "I thank you for your assistance," He murmurs to Staren.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
The Endbringer is stopped. Lezard sees this, and then he turns away, cutting the flow of power to the barrier with a gesture. The distrortions fade out, and four etched beacons suddenly crack, the roofs caving in slightly as if struck by a giagantic fist, though Lezard seems unconcerned, nor doe the buildings collapse.

He looks not /entirely/ discontent, crossing his arms as he looks out over the damaged, flooded city.

Noble Six (38) has posed:
It's down. Noble Six isn't entirely sure what finally got it, but it's down. She drops the SPARTAN Laser and takes a knee. Finally a chance to catch her breath, though she keeps the helmet on. She is still in Brockton Bay and Iridium has to keep up appearances. She is immensely releaved that they are victorious, however. It was starting to look like Leviathan may escape.

Zwei (596) has posed:
Asche begins putting his weapons away, placing them back into spatial storage where they belong. Weiss hops down from her skyscraper like someone skipping the last step on the staircase, meandering over to the cluster of Elites with her helmet down and her hands behind her back.

"Well, it's not the way I would have handled it, but I approve! I don't think anyone important died, and I got /tons/ of combat data. I'll probably come back to study this thing-" she bangs on Leviathan's ankle with her hand. "-later. Who knows, maybe this'll actually change this awful city for the better! Oh and uh . . ." She projects a holographic map of the city from her wrist, with the locations she had deposited the injured capes at highlighted. "This is where I dumped all the casualties. Go pick them up later."

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron watches. Holds his breath. Leviathan just /freezes/ in place, trapped in an instant in time. Auron's not in a place to help with the water, but watches, to make sure things are going well after it. At least, reasonably so. People are likely to have died, but he doesn't know the exact death toll. If the Endbringer has truly been... well, ended, then it's time to start with the rebuilding.

He lets out the breath he didn't even know he was holding. And then... something gets his attention. The mental warning from the SENTIMENT'S SLICKER that the effect is about to end. He looks at his torso and frowns. Yeah, that's going to hit him like a ton of bricks when this wears off. He starts making his way down to ground level, to locate medical personnel.

On the trip, he addresses Suchiru. "It's going to be a while before I can say it. So I'll say it now. Thank you."

And then an airship comes into view! It's a large, elaborate lavender and white thing with a large flat deck up top and a large golden grill in back, inside which a circle covered with runic marks spins slowly.

Over the local radio, a new voice makes itself known. It's a man's voice, rough and gravelly. <<Hey! My daughter said someone she knew called for help here-- WHAT THE *bleep* IS THAT?!>> He's probably talking about the frozen Leviathan.

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako walks quickly over to where Auron is, the water rapidly draining from the area long before she actually finds him. She winces visibly when she notes Auron's torso. "I... ouch... better deal with that quickly! Umm..." She turns her palm towards Auron. "Healing Water!" And a ball of purple water emerges from said palm and splashes itself against the injuries, healing them quickly.

Ayako smiles softly and floats another ball of purple water over to Auron. "Here... drink this. It helps a lot more when you drink it rather than splash it onto the ouchies." She smiles brightly.

Lezard Valeth has posed:
It's about at this point that Lezard blinks, as if coming to a sudden realization, and looks down from a building. He teleports once more, hovering over the watery ground. He stretches out his hands, and pieces of the Endbringer's crystalline body begin quivering, being drawn up towards his outstretched hands through a minor feat of magic.

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron pauses as he notes the airship coming in, and visibly facepalms at Cid's words. His signal cuts out over the radio again briefly, as he contacts Rikku again. <<Tell him it's dealt with.>>

That's when he notes the water disappearing from around him... and then Ayeko appearing. The healing water contacting the injuries slows the bleeding significantly, but he's still pale thanks to the blood he's already lost. The instruction to drink the water gets a nod and Auron attempts to do that. Can the water be held in his hands? Well, however it works, he'll try to drink as much of the purple ball as he can.

"Thank you," he offers to Ayeko. "That's likely to mitigate the injury a great deal." He'll still feel better when he's at medical, but at least he's pretty sure he's not going to immediately die when he gets there!

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako smiles softly at Auron. Of course the water can be held in his hands. And of note, the purple water is quite powerful stuff, doubly so when someone drinks it versus getting splashed by it. She curtsies gracefully with both of her hands, letting go of her broomstick for a moment. And then resumes draining the area by walking through the city. Of special note, she makes her way to the new Endbringer statue and walks in front of it so she can see it face to face. Ayako stares it down...

And then Ayako suddenly puts her left thumb onto her nose and waggles her fingers while sticking out her tongue. "Bleeeeaaaaah. That's what you get for using water to hurt like that!"

Ayako nods her head once and resumes walking through Brockton Bay. She actually seems to be draining the water in the city on a pretty deliberate, methodical route; keeping in mind her water control radius.

Theo Morrison has posed:
Theo comes down from his not-at-all-safe quasi-bunker to join the rest of the remaining group. He's got his deck in one hand, face-up, thumbing through them on the way down the street. He's apparently sorting through it to take some cards out and tuck them into a seperate pocket of his coat. He is, however, backpackless, and Kickotron is nowhere to be found, though his Abstractum is attached to his coat. Must've left him over there.

"That was crazy," he says, to nobody in particular. He looks up at the monster, staring at it for a moment. "Geez..."

Staren has posed:
Staren lets Kenshin go and hands Frederica off to the healers. Seeing Lezard gathering Leviathan pieces, Staren gathers several himself, putting them in sample containers and stuffing them in his bag.

Then he surveys the damage. "...I'll animate some constructs to help." Staren kneels in the rubble and concentrates for a moment. Nothing happens.

"Oh. Right. Um... I can't do that right now..." He just sort of looks awkward for a moment, then heads back to his mecha.

Staren has posed:
The constructs in the city, which lack hands, head back through the warpgate to return to Staren's lab.

Auron (236) has posed:
Auron nods to Ayeko as she leaves, with a small smile on his face. And then he quickly finds his way to the nearest medical personnel he can find. It's likely to be a concerning sight for them to see a man approaching whose whole front is soaked with blood. And as soon as he's where he can, he nudges the SENTIMENT'S SLICKER. He's safe now. The effect terminates...

And, with a hitching groan of pain, he rather immediately passes out.

It's not that Ayeko's water didn't heal him. Quite the contrary; Ayeko's healing water saved his life. But that his coat had been suppressing the effects of bleeding out for... what, hours now? An hour at least. Had it not been for that healing water, when the effect of his coat stopped, he would have probably died before his corpse could hit the ground.

As it is, though, he'll survive. He's going to be horribly weak for a while, but he'll make it.

Ayako Hasekawa has posed:
Ayako inclines her head to the side gently as she receives a laundry list from Miss Militia via radio. She sits down sidesaddle on her broomstick and floats off to work on making said list shorter. Of course, she still drains the water from the city as she floats off, the water whirlpooling upwards into her as she moves.

Theo Morrison has posed:
Theo looks around. He points at a spot on the ground. "Myr Servitor. Myr Servitor. Myr Servitor." Poof, poof, poof, and a trio of those short bird-robots appear. "Start searching for survivors and clearing rubble where relief forces need it," he orders them. The machines look at him for a second, and then start running off together to do just that. They're quick, stronger than their size suggests, and full of little tools. Helpful!

MEANWHILE

Kickotron is wandering around picking up pieces of crystal carapace and dropping them into the proto-Abstractum backpack Staren made for Theo without a care in the world. (It's bigger on the inside!)
