48th Floor, Sector A Boardroom

"Current quarter projections are good for our legitimate markets," Christopher states, leaning forward on his elbows, "At this rate we'll be able to phase out the 'Black' division by next year and still turn the same profit margins we have now."

"Excellent," Roger Britaine laces his fingers together, "I'll be happy to put this unpleasent business behind us and focus on a future with less ... baggage."

Just as one of the other board members starts to speak, the room's doors swing open and a teenaged girl enters, a confident swing in her stride and a canvas-wrapped pole in her hand. Without skipping a beat, she circles the table, approaching the President seated at its head.

"Ahh, Chell," Roger Britaine pushes his chair out and rises to his feet, "Gentlemen, you all recall my daughter, Rachel." Addressing the girl directly, he spreads his hands to either side, "I understand you wanted to show me something, but I'm in the middle of something important--"

With a flick of her wrist, Chell unwraps the canvas strapping from the end of her item, revealing the hilt of a sword. Grabbing on to it mid-step, she wrenches the blade from its scabbard in a single practiced stroke. She then swings it back on the tail of the same stroke and slides the black blade, smeared now with crimson, back where it came from.

Struck silent, Roger tries to speak. He staggers, then collapses, his torso splitting open in a spray of blood.

Stepping around the corpse, Chell places herself in the seat he had occupied, swinging her feet up onto the boardroom table in full view of the shocked, silenced board members. Her parcel, she slams down against the floor beside her new seat, shedding its wrappings to display the katana neatly in its sheath, pulsing with a sinister violet light.

"I'm in charge now," Rachel Britaine states coldly, "And there's going to be a few changes around here."
