Clear. Everything was clear.

For the first time in ages, the Garou known as Strides-in-Starlight could lift her head and truly SEE the world as one was meant to. The air was pure. Crisp. The land rose above her in jagged spires of rock lush with vegetation, with clouds and birds scudding across the blue sky. The temperature was comfortably warm without beating down upon her. Everything felt...

Right.

But where was her pack? The wolf sniffed, glanced around, and let out a small whine before the answer was found.

"Relax, Strides-in-Starlight. You will see your companions again," the 'voice' said from behind her. It wasn't words, but impressions she felt... and spinning about she saw a silver-flecked white wolf, one of the pure breed Silver Fangs. One who appeared sane, even. The Silver Fang bowed her head. "Walk with me a while. We have much to discuss."

Strides-in-Starlight rose, padding after with a puzzled expression. It was odd to be using that name so much... though now she could remember why she chose the other. A random, meaningless word... which was all she could comprehend at the time, with her mind a storm of raging thoughts and concepts, difficult to grasp and hold for any length of time. "Where am I, then?"

Amusement. "A pure land. Untouched by the taint. Only reachable through love."

Sniff. The younger/older wolf, simultaneously both ages, began to walk alongside the silver one... finally guessing. "The Summer Country?" It was a myth. Paradise for the Garou. The one place untouched by the Wyrm's madness... a place of healing and perfection of Gaia.

The way things should have been.

But she knew what that also meant. "I cannot stay here, can I?"

Sadness from the other. "You can. But you will not. Such a selfish thought could never stay upon the heart of one who reached this place. But we have some time... and important matters to discuss. But for now..."

The other wolf stops, just in front of a boundless field of waving grass. Her smile is mental as she tosses her head in a gesture outward. "Play."

She couldn't stay. Strides-in-Starlight knew that. But here, in this place, just for a while...

Everything was all right.
