Synopsis: Kyubey is still a bitch, news at 11.

Early morning, in her room. Homura is in the midst of combing her hair and getting ready for school, when a white critter scuttles out from under the bed. With a rush, she grabs him by the head and slams him into the wall.

"Say it. What do you know?!"

"Your species resorts to violence for answers very easily, doesn't it, Akemi Homura? But honestly, I don't know what you're talking about. What do you need to know and on what subjects?" :3

"Don't play dumb. What do you know about Witches?"

"You are still going on about that? I don't know anything more than what you told me. Rather, we Incubators haven't been able to make sense of your story. It truly is a situation where we only have your word to go by." :3

"You still think this is a story we made up to hate you?"

"Not entirely. It is true that the idea of a more efficient system is hard to comprehend and accept; we have been doing this for a very long time, after all, and if there was a way to make the system more efficient, we should have found it by now. In that respect, your story is hard to believe. However, assuming your story is correct, it still leaves rather important holes to be filled, such as the reason such transformations no longer occur, and the disappearance of Soul Gems when oversaturated with despair. So in a way, your story really only provides us with questions, and no answers, Akemi Homura." :3

"So you're going to tell me that night at the Mitakihara Tower, you just happened to stroll by and didn't see anything interesting?"

"There was a disruption in the activity we were monitoring. Something lured the Demons to that location. I was going to locate the nearest Puella Magi and warn her of the approaching Demons so that she could collect their curses for me, but you arrived moments later with your friends, who seemed to disappear while you handled the Demons. I was merely watching. You have made it abundantly clear whatever is happening isn't for my eyes, haven't you?" :3

"I don't buy this behaving thing. Not right now. You have something to do with this and I want to know what! You're the only being I can think of with enough power over Soul Gems to possibly--"

"Allow me to stop you right there, Akemi Homura. While it is true we Incubators have limited control over Soul Gems, such powers are only byproducts of knowing how they function. We cannot circumvent their disappearance, nor can we taint or clean them. Magic and miracles, while we are able to grant them to magical girls, are outside of our own capabilities. In other words, we created a system that we aren't able to do anything with ourselves. Besides, have we Incubators not been acting in the best interest of your species from the start? In the fight against Demons, magical girls need to exist for species not to be destroyed. All we are doing is providing a fighting chance against them, while using results to--" :3

"Fight entropy, I know. Fine. You're off the hook for now."

With a sigh she lets him down, just as the door to her room opens. Mami peeks in, asking only: "Mm? Homura, everything alright? There was shouting."

"It's fine." "We were just discussing, Tomoe Mami." :3

"Ah~. Well, since you two are agreeing, it must be true. Come on, Homura, you'll be late for school if you're not ready soon."
