Illya von Einzbern Time with papa! It's fantastic!

Illya von Einzbern does not get a lot of time with Emiya Kiritsugu, hers or anyone elses. She is primarily a mamas girl - almost quite literally, all things considered. Iris is her mama and she adores Iris, but Illya also adores everyone else in her house.

Nonetheless, Sella and Leysritt are conviently out and Illya actually forced herself to kick Shirou out. Kerry has good instructions on how to get to her home, and Illya is standing by the gate, watching for him. She's smiling.
Emiya Kiritsugu It has been a while. The closest thing to Illya that Kiritsugu has seen in several months has been Chloe. So far, he has only spoken to Illya on the radio, and heard of her exploits through such or via reports. He knew enough about this Illya to write a personal letter. But she still must have gone through things he has no knowledge of at all. His ideals are important. More important even than his own family. But it may very well be that the best way to achieve his ideals is via his family. By not letting the Fourth Holy Grail War play out the way it did in Illya's and Chloe's world, and prioritizing his family over his wish.

From what he sees so far, this Fuyuki is free of the creepy-crawly feeling of loose mana that the Fuyuki of his time suffers from as a consequence of the War. But he is not exactly the best of magi, so there may very well be things going on he simply cannot detect. He arrives in a sleek black limousine, reinforced in numerous ways to survive an attack from most military-grade conventional weaponry.

Paranoia is a valuable trait in his profession, but one that can cause others to look at you funny if they find out the lengths you go to in order to prepare for trouble. The car is driven by a professional driver, one who knows his job and does it without asking questions. Maiya remained behind at the Einzbern castle outside Fuyuki.

This is just supposed to be Kiritsugu and Illya. When he gets out of the car, it's in his usual attire. Black trenchcoat and black suit. He probably could have dressed up a bit more - or more casually - for a meeting with his psuedo-daughter, but the suit is still pretty nice.

He pauses to pick up a package out of the back seat, before closing the car door. When he sees Illya at the gate, he smiles and waves to her.
Illya von Einzbern There's a thrum of magic deep in Fuyuki City. There always will be, it seems; this one hums in the leylines, and also is curiously strong from a specific point, like it was a well of magic somewhere, or a card hidden in the ground. Hm. How about that. It is known that calming down the leylines was something the group had tried, so maybe it's a known issue...? However, there is not that creepy-crawly feeling. That is good, yes?

The house that Illya lives in is a good, nice looking two-story home, with a few balconies on a couple of the upstairs rooms. It is very much lived in. It is a good home. She waves back at him, almost shyly - he's so very much her dad, but not her dad. It's sooo weird. Very, very weird.

"Hello! Welcome h-- well, to my home! Sella and Leysritt are out, um, shopping, I think!" She says. "And Shirou's out too, doing something at school. So... it's just us." She tilts her head at the package.

The gate opens and Illya shuffles him in.
Emiya Kiritsugu Kiritsugu can probably detect some of that, but not all of it. His main focus is on this visit anyway. If he felt there was serious danger here, he would have come in a much different fashion - or tried to get Illya moved out of here. "Ah, that's right. There was a Shirou here as well." An odd peculiarity that he would wind up adopted into the Einzbern family here, and adopted into the Emiya family in a possible future version of Kiritsugu's timeline. Kiritsugu tends not to believe in coincidences. But he files that away for later. Now is not the time.

As he is ushered through the gate, he looks around, taking in his surroundings a bit. His attention keeps drifting back to Illya though. She's bigger than his Illyasviel, but he doesn't know how old she is. His is only just about to turn eight, and is still smaller than Illya. How long will that last? Is that stunted growth something that will fade away overtime?

"I brought a present for you," he mentions, noticing Illya's interest in the package. He'll give it to her once they're inside.
Illya von Einzbern "Yes. You adopted him." Illya explains. "It's ... a little weird, but I never really asked how or why. I didn't want to know." She shrugs a little. She watches him look around, although at the mention of a 'present', she perks. She is after all a child. She tucks one length of hair, her red eyes focusing on his face.

"I figure... I'm ten, papa." She explains. "That's probably important for you to know." She does look, aside from being just so taller and a bit more grown, like her eight-year old self. She, does, however, still look small for her age.

"Please, enter." She shuffles him into the main hallway, from which four doors, two on each side, and a staircase are shown. "Straight to the left!" She says. The living room consists of a step down with a couch and a TV and a coffee table in it.

There's also a spot for shoes and the like in the main entry way, with slippers.
Emiya Kiritsugu Familiar with the customs of his home country, even if he didn't spend much time there growing up, Kiritsugu sheds his shoes and dons the guest slippers available once he is inside. Ten. So not much time has passed from his own. And yet things are already so different. There is still something going on in this town, but he doesn't feel like he's in constant danger here. And Illya seems happy. "I see," he responds on the matter of Shirou. So that's two Kiritsugu who adopted Shirou. Peculiar indeed. Despite his differences with the Shirou he knows, the boy has come to grow on him a little.

He can see him being someone he would want to raise, if he were in the place of one of these other two iterations of himself. At least, one the War was either over or avoided. Once he has entered, Kiritsugu looks around at the living room's decor, the so extremely domestic layout... As near as he can tell, there are no mystic defenses in place, but he could easily be wrong.

"Only ten," he finally says outloud, as he turns back to look at Illya. Hesitantly reaching a hand out to ruffle her hair. "But already so grown up." he adds kindly.

And to assuage any hair-ruffling complaints, he holds out the package. It's wrapped in brown paper, with a silver-colored string tied in a bow to hold it closed. Inside is a much more brightly wrapped present. And inside of that is a circular disc-like object, with some sort of screen at the center, and an assortment of buttons around the rim. Its purpose is not immediately obvious, and will likely require either explanation or experimentation.

"I'm glad to see you," Kiritsugu states. One would assume that to be the case, but for some reason he felt the need to say it. To make it clear. Even if this situation is weird - quite likely for both of them - he is still happy to see this daughter of his, no matter what world she is from.
Illya von Einzbern "Only ten!" Illya protests. "I'm a very grown up ten, yes." She says, sulk preemptively stopped by his words as his hand reaches out into her hair and messes it, causing her bangs to go on the fritz a little bit. There very well might be wards that Illya doesn't know about. Kiritsugu is a paranoid guy, and Iris loves her children. There probably are, just for that alone.

She takes the gift, peering at it for a moment, before taking a seat on the floor in front of the coffee table and tearing into it. She's a child. She peers at the disc, cautiously, slightly afraid to press any buttons, but at the same time, wanting to press *all of them at the same time*.

"Uw? Oh... I'm glad to see you too, papa." She doesn't seem to realize calling him papa might be awkward. "... what is this?"
Emiya Kiritsugu Kiritsugu seats himself as well, and says, "It's something I bought on a world with a much more advanced level of technology than in my time. It's a sort of high-tech scrapbook or family album, and you can add to it over time." He points to a light bulb or something like it on one side. "You point that, and it records what it 'sees'. You can also record sound. I thought it might be a good way to save the memories you form in more than one way, and so that you'll always have your family with you, no matter where they are, or how big that family gets." There DO seem to be a lot of members of this extended Emiya/Einzbern family all unifying lately. Shirou, Kiritsugu, Chloe, Illya... Who knows how many more newly-discovered family members may appear? Even for magical girl adventures, having a record could be nice.

"You can consider another Christmas present to go with the others if you like, but honestly, I just wanted you to have it."

For many reasons. Including ones he doesn't want to think about right now. Like some of those family members possibly not being... ...'Around' in the future, if things wind up going as they did in Saber's time.
Illya von Einzbern Illya nods. She takes a long look at it, gently poking and prodding it in various combinations with a child-like enthusiasm for shenanigans. Once she's figured out how it properly works, she immediately places it down on the table, the recording bulb pointing straight at Kiritsugu. Why?

"Thank you, papa!" She says, launching herself at him for a hug.
Emiya Kiritsugu Akward though he may be, and as concerned as he may be about him possibly being a bad father, worried that somehow he will contaminate his daughter with the monster that he is, and make her into something terrible just by being around him... Kiritsugu still knows how to receive and give hugs. As he is pounced by Illya, he puts an arm around her and hugs her back, the gentle smile on his face still there. He's different around his daughter. Anyone who watches the two together can see that. And it hurts him so much so be this happy. He knows he doesn't deserve happiness after all he has done...

But he won't take happiness away from her. No matter what form she takes, no matter how young or old, there is no Illya, on any world, he would ever want to take the smile away from.

"You're welcome, Illya."
Illya von Einzbern Illya gives good hugs. She smiles at him, a expressive look that says she's happy, she is honestly happy and that she doesn't worry or care about anything going on right now except for this single moment - and it's the first one she grabbed. Illyasviel Von Einzbern, you're the dorkiest ten year old homunculus ever.

"Mmm. You need to teach me how to use my other present as well... also... did you like mine?"
