Lloyd Irving     Lloyd, of course, is already in the Ring of Philosophy, having been sure he would find Kyra active and ready to test the new revolver he had made. It was his first attempt at making a full blown gun, so he looks, notably, a little nervous. However, he also seems excited. He stands next to a raised platform, almost like a table, upon which sit two boxes. One is smaller, and likely contains the weapon itself. The other is a bit bigger and rectangular, likely containing the ammunition. Also on this table is a holster belt and twin ammo belts, both of which are made out of white leather.

He stands, glancing toward the door of the ring in anticipation.
Kyra Hyral     Lloyd'll hear a lot of thumping and jingling in the hall outside of the Ring of Philosophy before the door flies open, revealing the girl that had previously just been a voice on the radio. Kyra looks /excited/ with an almost manic grin on her face. Nevermind that this is her first visit to the ring of philosophy, which looks pretty cool in and of itself. Nevermind that she's never actually met Lloyd before and always enjoys meeting new people. She actually gets to mess with an extraversal gun, meaning she has a TRIPLE THREAT of exciting.

"Hello!" she greets cheerfully, striding over to join Lloyd at the table. "Kyra Hyral, nice to meet you in person, Lloyd." Already her eyes are wandering to the mysterious boxes on the table. Belts and holsters are recognizable enough though from what Lloyd can tell at first glance it doesn't LOOK like she's wearing one. The hoodie she has seems a little bulky, though, so if she is armed it might be hidden under there.
Lloyd Irving     Lloyd's attention rivets to Kyra as she enters, smiling as he does so. As she joins him at the table, he nods and pops the lock on the first box. He opens the box, then lifts the item out of it. It's a silver revolver, looking to be a semi-high caliber. The gun seems to shine in the light, and has gold accents along the barrel and cylinder. The handle is made out of a black material, with Lloyd's insignia, an angel wing embossed in gold, set into it. He flips the gun and hands it to Kyra handle first. "I call this Luna's Resolve," he says, smiling. "The gun itself is infused with Light mana, and the shells..."

He cracks open the other box, revealing a great number of bullets.

"These are all Light-based shots. It took a little more doing to create a propelling charge, but I think I've managed." He hands her six of the bullets, then gestures out toward a set of targets. "If you don't mind, I'd like to see if I got it right. Careful, though. It might cause a bir of recoil."

Actually, upon firing the weapon, there is a small amount of recoil. There is also a bright trail behind the bullet. Other than these small quirks, however, the weapon fires exactly how a revolver should.
Kyra Hyral     Leaning over the table, Kyra starts flailing her fingers a little with an 'ooooh' as Lloyd brings out the gun. "You /made/ this." she states in awe. She accepts the weapon as if she were handling a fabrege egg and looks it over delicately, careful to keep the barrel pointed away from either of them. She didn't know if it was loaded or not (probably because the ammo is in the other box) but gun safety habit is hard to shake, even in the face of extreme excitement. "Good, it does have a name. Every good smith should name their weapons. Hmmm."

Carefully, she shifts the gun to one of her hand and starts taking the bullets in the other. "...whoah. They're heavy, Quentyn was right." she remarks, sliding open the cylinder to slide the bullets in.

"What is in the propelling charge, out of curiosity? I can't seem to...feel it, I guess you could say?" As she asks her questions, she takes aim at one of the targets and fires with a two-handed grip upon the revolver.

She seems just a little surprised at the recoil, judging by the look on her face. She still hits one of the targets but nowhere near what could be considered the center. She looks downrange, then at the gun. "A /physical/ recoil, I'm actually not that used to that."
Lloyd Irving     Lloyd smirks. "I used a bit of Efreet's essense, a crystal of fire mana that propels the bullet after being shattered by the hammer." As she fires, he notices the recoil and nods. "Less than I expected, considering the explosive nature of the propelling charge. I think it's a success. It's up to you whether or not you want to use it, though. It's yours to do with what you wish." He offers another smile, then glances down at the targets. "Looks like I need to tool two more out for myself," he says, "It's another thing I can add to my growing catalog of custom weapons, alongside the gunsword. I really have to thank Psyber again for sending me those pistols." He smirks, then closes the boxes.

"I hope it's to your liking."
Kyra Hyral     "Oohhh, so the shattering via the hammer starts the reaction. It's a little like how the explosive flasks I carry work though I never would have envisioned using it as parts of a /gun/. How fascinating!" There is no sarcasm either; Kyra is genuinely surprised by all of this. "Yes, I do think this is very successful, Lloyd."

She lifts the gun again and takes another shot, now having come to expect the recoil. This shot hits much closer to the intended center of the target. "You're going to have two guns for yourself, right?" she asks, peering down at his twin swords. "What? Of course I'm going to use it! It looks /awesome/ and it works in a fundementally different way from my other guns. That part's really important. See..."

Reaching under her hoodie to what Lloyd can see is a satchel made from black material, Kyra withdraws a bullet and hands it to Lloyd. It looks like a bullet but it feels like it weighs a lot less. It doesn't appear to have ANY propellant in it.
Lloyd Irving     Lloyd chuckles. "I'm a dual wielder by nature," he says, "so it feels weird when I don't have something in both hands. My Device is an exception, mind you." He gestures to a small yellow gem on a scarf clip at his neck, then shrugs. He takes the offered bullet, turning it over in his fingers and examining it, not only with interest, but a keen inventor's eye. "Wow... I don't even understand how this can work. It has no charge, so it shouldn't be able to fire..."

He ponders for a moment. "You said you were surprised there was physical recoil on that revolver. Does this mean you're used to a mental or magical recoil instead?"
Kyra Hyral     "Dual-wielding just /looks/ cooler too." Kyra adds, peering at the 'Device.' "...what IS that?" she asks, gesturing to it. Though she's heard Zephyr's Device talking on the Union channels, she actually has no idea of what they ARE at this point.

"That's right, a mental recoil as the magic particles are used up to propel the the bullet forward."

Setting the Luna's Resolve down on the table, Kyra unzips the front of her hoodie to reveal her gear beneath. She has two additional belts with gun holsters and a pair of bandoliers criss-crossing her chest filled with vials of various liquids. One holster is at her right hip while the other holds a gun underneath her left arm. She takes the gun at her hip out, which looks like a regular black-matte handgun a modern Earth might commonly have, and passes it over to Lloyd carefully. "It's loaded...the safety is there." Kyra points out.
Lloyd Irving     Lloyd smirks and taps the gem gently. "Mitgefuhl Vormund, set up!" Lloyd is cloaked in a white light, surrounding his form completely. When it fades, he stands in his Knight Armor, holding a large black round shield on his right arm, a golden gem set in the center. His sheathes are gone, the shield bearing a gently glowing red rune of two swords crosses on its surface. He holds up the shield, showing Kyra the gem in the center. "This is Mitgefuhl Vormund," he says. The Device chimes, then intones, ~Ja, Meister~

He takes the offered gun, lowering his shield and taking aim at one of the targets. Preparing for the mental kickback, he squints his eyes a bit before clicking the safety off and pulling the trigger. He feels the pressure almost like a physical force, but not at the same time. "Huh," he says, clicking the safety back into place. "That's pretty awesome. I never even thought of handling things that way." He hands the pistol back to Kyra, before another flash of light engulfs him, returning him to his normal state.
Kyra Hyral     Kyra leans back suddenly as the Device activates, shading her eyes briefly in the sudden flash of light. Once it has settled and Lloyd now bears his new armor and shield, Kyra resumes staring. She walks all the way around him, looking it over, stopping again to peer at the shield and gem in the center. "It talks?" She cautiously reaches out to tap the shield with a finger, "Is...is it /alive/?"

Once Lloyd has taken the gun, she steps back, watching curiously. There is a small noise of excitement from her when Lloyd does indeed manage to fire the gun. "Oh good, you can work it. I kind of had a feeling you'd be able to but I wasn't sure." She takes the gun back and slips it into the holster. "If you had no magic particles you probably wouldn't be able to fire. Did you make the Mitgefuhl Vormund too?"
Lloyd Irving     Lloyd nods. "I have a lot of latent magic as a Seraph," he says, "Err... a combat angel, essentially. I have a lot of mana control and powerful magic now, which takes some getting used to even all this time later." He laughs, then shakes his head. "Nah, Mitgefuhl Vormund is an AI that aids in my use of Belkan magic. It was made for me by the Time Space Administration Bureau, so I had a non-lethal way to use my full strength in combat. I use him primarily in situations where I need to incapacitate without the risk of heavy injury or death." He crosses his arms.

"The scientists at the TSAB are a lot more advanced than I am. I focus mainly on melee style weapons, armor, and accessories. Something like Mitgefuhl Vormund is still out of my reach, though maybe someday it won't be." He then reaches behind him, reaching for three small orbs on the back of his belt. "When you're in the Multiverse as long as I have been, you pick up a lot of connections. So not everything I have is native to my world. Mitgefuhl Vormund is one." He clicks the center of the small orb he pulls, causing it to grow into a larger orb. It's red on the top and white on the bottom, with a button on the center face. He tosses it into the air, and a red beam flies from it, taking the shape of a large figure. As it solidifies, it turns green, and is revealed to be Regal, Lloyd's Scyther. "And Regal here is another example of offworld connections. He's a Scyther, a type of Pokemon." The praying mantis-like Pokemon nods its head toward Kyra. <Nice to meet you,> it scys.
Kyra Hyral     "Ahh, good, I was wondering just how compatible extraversal magic would be with our MP. It seems in this case it really is. Hearing about those worlds out there without magic makes me wonder if the people that live there couldn't use our technology at all. I get tha...wait. Did you say AI?" Kyra's eyes widen, "As in artificial inteilligence? Is that really a thing?"

She rubs the back of her head, feeling almost...sheepish? Maybe even humbled? "'cause it's...not in Galianda." Mentally, she files away the note on the TSAB for later investigation. "How long has your world been Unified to the multiverse, Lloyd?"

He summons a mantis-looking creature that Kyra reflexively steps back from since it does remind her of certain monsters were she's from. Unlike pokemon, they're not friendly. Once Lloyd's introduced him, though, she approaches the scyther and does another 'walk around it' deals. "Huh...and it looks like you keep it in a summon matri-oh, hey, here, Lloyd, try this. Just wind it up."

Kyra unclips something round and brass from her belt that looks like some kind of steampunk egg timer with a big, stylized dial. Once he does wind it, he'll feel the same 'pull' on mana from earlier as the device activates. When it does, a flash of green light follows and a chocobo appears, already garbed in riding tack.

While this happens, Kyra scoots closer to the Scyther, getting up next to it. She pulls out her phone and takes a selfie with the pokemon.
Lloyd Irving     Lloyd nods. "The Multiverse is a place of infinite wonder and potential, honestly," he says, smiling, "There are wonders here beyond anything I would've been able to imagine before my world Unified." He hmms softly, then says, "I think it's been nearly five years since my world was pulled in. Somewhere in that neighborhood, anyway. I've lost track of exact numbers." He scratches the back of his head.

As she mentions a summon matrix, he chuckles. "It's called a Pokeball," he says, "It's a device that only works to contain Pokemon. It has a genetic tracker of some sort, marking me as the owner of the ball and thus the trainer of the Pokemon inside. I like to think of us as friends and teammates more than trainer and Pokemon, though. We kind of share a mental link as well." Regal offers a small nod, then watches as Kyra circles him. As Lloyd winds the device she hands him, Regal offers an odd noise not unlike a laugh. <What in the world are you doing, miss? Taking a picture with that?> he scys.

Lloyd recoils slightly as his mana is tapped again, then blinks as a chocobo appears. He blinks, then laughs a bit. "Oh wow! Now that's pretty impressive!"
Kyra Hyral     "No kidding! Kind of makes me wonder how people can actually be /afraid/ of it. Have you been with the Union that whole time, Lloyd? I know the Union's been around for quite a while now. Like almost a decade at least...?"

"Yep!" she cheerfully tells the pokemon. "My classmates wouldn't believe this if I told them. Pics or it didn't happen and all." The phone slips back into the pocket of her hoodie. Just be glad there was no duckface involved.

"It's a summon matrix. Chocobo are the most common but they can contain other vehicles like mistcycles or cars. There are even military grade ones that take multiple people to operate. Chocobo are easy, you can give him a ride if you want."
Lloyd Irving     Lloyd nods. "Yeah," he says, "I joined up with the Union on my first day unified, actually. I helped take out a massive Digimon that was attacking a city and was recruited as an ally. Then I got brought into a provisional officer program, then rose to be the General for awhile. Now I'm a Colonel. It's been a long, strange road." He chuckles, moving to pet the chocobo. Regal flutters his wings idly, and Lloyd continues. "It's been a good time, for the most part. The Union has really taken care of me, and I've done a lot of good." Done some terrible things, too, but he doesn't say that. Instead, he climbs up onto the chocobo's back, gripping the reins gently.

"I've heard these chocobo can run really fast. I wonder if my dog, Noishe, could outrun them. He's about as big as one, anyway." He clicks his tongue and flicks the reins, goading the bird into a small trot. "I haven't done much riding," he says, "Not since I got my wings, anyway. Flying is just way too cool."
Kyra Hyral     Idily, Kyra watches Lloyd interact with the chocobo. She doesn't seem surprised that he recognizes it, having learned that there are other worlds with chocobo-actual chocobo in large numbers at that. "Oh, so you have actual /rank/ in the Union? I wasn't aware of that." Kyra actually sounds a little awkward at that. "I'm not enlisted or anything so I don't have to salute you or however they do it in the Union. They never put you with those Last Chancer guys when you joined up, did they?"

She huffs, "Wings! How lucky, it must be fun being able to fly so naturally. Best I've got for that is Float which is just awkward." She watches him ride the chocobo around-Lloyd will notice that doing so seems to very slowly drain mana as he does. If he decides to withhold mana, the chocobo will vanish in a shower of green sparkles.
Lloyd Irving     To his credit, Lloyd has a massive store of mana. However, he can feel the pull of the mana drain, and thus closes off his reserves and allows his wings to manifest, the mana constructs flapping idly as the chocobo vanishes. He lands on the ground softly, then allows his wings to vanish again. "No, I didn't start in Last Chancers. I started as an Ally, then worked my way up from there. Of course, they don't technically exist in the Union to the outside world. I've never been known as anything but Union." He flashes a smile at her last comment, nodding a bit. "Yeah, the wings are pretty awesome. I never knew how fun it could be to fly until I got them. Now I rarely travel any other way."
Kyra Hyral     Kyra holds out her hand so she can take back her chocobo summon matrix as she stares up at the flying Lloyd-namely those Seraph wings. "W..wow...they're...um..." she reddens just slightly, "They're nice. -oh, uh, don't worry, I'm well aware of the rules about the Last Chancers who do not exist. Though I kind of get the feeling they put a lot of the unruly people there."

Switching away from subjects involving groups that don't exist, she goes right back to the wings. "I can't blame you at all. It must be so much fun soaring high through the sky on those, way above clouds, close to the...okay, maybe being close to Phoenix or a sun would not be so great for pale skin but...you get the idea." She heads back to the table and picks up the holster for Luna's Resolve.
Lloyd Irving     Lloyd chuckles. "They're one set of only a handful that exist like them in my world. My dad, two of my friends, a temporary ally that I have no idea where he is anymore, and Himei Shoutan are the only ones I know of that have wings like mine, and are still living." He shifts his eyes a bit, then shrugs. "It's like no other sensation in the world, to be honest. There are lots of ways to fly in the Multiverse, but I have a soft spot for mana wings. Beings able to fly at a moment's notice is a handy ability in the field, too."

He smiles again, then nods as Kyra gathers the holster. "Let me know if you ever need repairs or more bullets or anything for that. I'm always happy to help out my allies."
Kyra Hyral     "Mana wings...hmmm." Kyra looks thoughtful. If it was, in essence, a high-level magical effect it was possible it could be replicated at some point. Maybe. It was a thought she'd clearly have to come back to later. "There's just something about actually having wings that makes it...I don't know, pure I guess?" She takes a moment to find a new place for her belt...which means it criss-crosses over the old one, putting the Luna's Resolve holster over her left hip. Kyra's well on her way to looking like an overprepared 80s movie action hero.

"Oh, I will! Thank you so much for this, Lloyd, the Luna's Resolve is beautiful."
Lloyd Irving     Lloyd smiles softly as Kyra decks herself out in gear. "It's a pretty unique thing," he says, "but worth it in the end. I'm really happy with them." He rolls his shoulders, making his way toward the door of the chamber. "I'm glad you like it! May it serve you well in the time to come," he adds, waving over his shoulder. "Make sure to keep in touch, and thank you for showing me all of this new stuff! I'm really starting to like learning."

He turns and returns Scyther to his ball, lingers long enough to let Kyra say anything she'd like, then cracks the door and returns to his office.
Kyra Hyral     "Hey, if you're available..." Kyra adds before Lloyd leaves, "Definitely come to our Victory Day party tomorrow. It'll be at our school." She gives him one more friendly wave as she slides away the Luna's resolve.
Lloyd Irving     "I'll see what I can do!" Lloyd calls, before the door shuts behind him.
