Wally West Phase Rock right now stands in the hands of the Confederacy, but one man plans to change this! Why-- because he is being paid to do it by the Union and because money speaks. Last time though he did one of these missions, he screwed up though. He was taken out by a crazy Princess-- taken back to her crazy land, healed up.. ad well.. now owes her a debt or two.

Drift rather not have a repeat of this.

It wouldn't be long till a speedster comes rolling by, he zips past the security, trips a few alarms on purpose, and then manages to knock out several of the guards in a single few seconds.

Then to top it off, he makes his way to the comm for the area and lets himself be heard, "Confederate security! I suggest you leave this area at once or you are all going to find yourselves tied up and hanging upside down."

There was then a pause in his voice, "..and I'll do it too-- and maybe even make you hang upside in your underwear." Seriously?
Regina of Borg      Drift might be surprised at just who is on security duty today. A bunch of strange-looking, grey skinned, cybernetic creatures. As Drift zips by, he is easily faster than the slightly clumbsy creatures. The black cybernetic armor they wear is quite durable, though. So, while he does knock several down, they do not stay down for long.

And once he speaks on the comm, every single one of them turns to look toward him. That's about 50, just in the immediate area. And above them, syphoning energy from the crystal formations, is a huge cube-shaped ship. It is as broad as a large city, with the same jet black coloration as the drones' armor.

And, unlike other security forces, that might have started shooting or started running or been confused by his antics, these people just stare at him without any sign of emotion. Then, all as one, they speak.

"We are the Borg. Cease your hostilities and surrender. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your resources will be adapted to service us. Resistance...is futile."

They speak in a creepy, monotone collective voice, every word in unison across the small population of drones. And once the finish speaking, they all raise their arms in unison, aiming their integrated weapons at Drift.
Wally West So you ever have one of those moments where your doing your thing and you can hear one of your mentor's voices go, 'Always pay attention to your surroundings'-- yeah. That is how Wally feels right now. Drift's green eyes stares out over the mass of cyborg men who all speak as one. When he hears that line from them he winces a bit inside.

"Man.. I guess the normal guys had the day off huh?" He says calmly with a slight grin on his face. His eyes drawn up to the ship, before back to the Cyborgs, "But sorry guys. I don't feel like being part of a collective or a part of any greater thing. I like me being, well, me."

With that said, Drift quickly goes to rush right at a group of them. His speed accelerates him around a few, before he actually goes in to see if he can knock a few more over, maybe even impact something vital. Its worth a short anyways.
Regina of Borg      Durable armor, yes. But, it is designed more to stop energy attacks than physical blows. And Drift is moving REALLY fast. He impacts one drone with full force, sending sparks flying from it as it is badly damaged and sending it tumbling back through the crowd, knocking several others down.

The others don't even seem to care. One of them is down, unlikely to get back up, others are picking themselves up, and the ones who were not hit do not even react to the attack. Except for the fact that they start firing. Incinerating green plasma starts flying through the air. They don't even seem to care that they might hit each other. And a moment later, it is clear why. The plasma shots that hit the drones do not even make it to their armor. Some sort of personal shield appears and disperses the plasma around them. There is practically a fog cloud of plasma for Drift to avoid. Doable, but not particularly easy.
Wally West Drift moves around the plasma shots, sliding on the ground at one point and yeah, directing them at one another. Only to watch those shields just absorb the plasma shots without a care, "Man. You got to be kidding me!" The speedster in black, then back flips over a few more shots, though when he lands down he gets nailed in the shoulder.

The bolt of plasma skimming across the surface of his black uniform and scorching some of his skin, he bolts again, attempt to shift around a sudden plasma vent, but as he does it, he missteps slightly and finds himself getting grazed by the sheer heat.

This knocks him over in pain, but he doesn't stay down long. Instead he takes note of the rocks near by and starts to throw them at rapid machine gun speeds at the borgs-- including a few directly into their line of shots.
Regina of Borg      Everywhere Drift goes the plasma shots are splashing against the ground and searing through the air right behind him. Luckily, he is too fast for them to box him in as they usually would. All they can do is follow him around like some sort of space zombies.

When he leaps behind those rocks and starts throwing them, the plasma fire concentrates in around him, vaporizing the rocks almost entirely and attempting to pelt him in the process.

"Jokes are irrelevant. You are not being 'kidded'. We will destroy you if you do not leave this area." that syncronized monotone of voices says as the crowd of cyborgs moves in toward Drift.
Wally West "Also like all robots and cyborgs without brains." He just keeps throwing them anyways. "You guys can't even make a joke!" though this soon catches up with him, forcing him to have to leave-- but like machines, they were accurate!

A few plasma shots catch him, along the arm and along the hip. He grits his teeth in pain, but keeps moving-- even with his hip now actually hurting. It almost causes him to falter a time or two. Though a plasma beam seers by his visor, reflected in it by just how really close it was. "Whoa!"

Drrift then narrows his eyes before he charges right into a group of them, then starts to spin himself up like a top, generating a mild tornado. He attempts to lift a group of them off the ground and then spit them out toward the others.

Though he can't keep this up for long. He isn't Barry Allen-- and he isn't that fast---- Yet.
Regina of Borg      Indeed. These guys have no sense of humor at all. But, at least they get swept up in the tornado. About a half dozen of them are picked up, even as the others keep firing plasma shots at Drift. When the drones are shot back out at the others, they are like a salvo of bowling balls being shot at a bunch of pins. Drones are knocked down all around the area by the flying drones. Several are severely damaged, and sparks shower the area.

The plasma attacks actually stop a moment as the drones analyze the situation and come to the conclusion that Drift is an actual threat. The crowd moves back, forming a wide circle around Drift, then several drones step out of the crowd who are obviously designed specifically for combat. They raise their hands, and in each one is what is clearly a grenade. Then, they start throwing them. They throw them at a staggered pace, trying to catch Drift off balance and thus engulf him in a searing cloud of exploding green plasma.
Wally West Plasma, Plasma, everywhere-- and even the explosions!

Once Drift finishes his rapid spin, he bolts out of it letting it die down. It is probably this very reason he is able to avoid a few explosions, but a few do almost nail him. Sending a rain of shards and rocks at him. One of them nailing him in the back of the shoulder.

That leave a bruise!
Thankfully he heals from those in a few minutes to an hour.

Drift slides across the ground, as he takes note of the newer combat made models and narrows his eyes behind the reflective visor. Then with a hard push off with his foot he goes racing right at them. Before he flips up into the air and then goes to speed dive kick down onto of one, before leaping over to another to round house kick, flipping off the next to preform another maneuver-- and yeah.

Keeps up on leaping between then with rapid kicks.
Regina of Borg      Drift's acrobatics work pretty well. And with how heavy the drones are, it is easy to bounce off of them. The first one he kicks goes stumbling back. The second one has his head snapped to the side. Bounce after bounce, Drift takes down drone after drone. Some get back up, and some stay down.

But, the collective calculates what he is doing, and when he reaches the last of the stronger combat models, it is surrounded by the weaker worker drones. Six attempt to grab him as the others open fire again. Their grip is quite powerful, but surely nothing that Drift can't handle.
Wally West Can't handle indeed, but it does catch Drift a bit off guard! He was ready for them to actually assemble up like they did, so when he does land down, though he dodges the shot and few grasping hands. One of them does manage to get a hold of him. "Hey!" Drift barks out.

The Borg's grip is tight, but soon as the borg starts to put on the pressure, Drift smirks faintly. "Luckly you guys are mostly machines, or I feel bad about doing this!" While the grip is bruising his arm, his very arm starts to vibrate. The oscillation allows him to move his arm free and maybe even damage the borg.

He then flips back, before coming in quickly and starting to actually rapid machine gun punches, sweeping kicks, and some ducks to move around the hoard gathering about him. Until he comes to the heavy combat unit, which he then plants his hands right directly for that chest of his and starts to do like he did to his arm-- but this time.. he plans to shake the Borg up badly enough that it just vibrates him out of commission.
Regina of Borg      Borg drones go flying every which way from the ZAMs, POWs, WHAMMYs, and other assorted impact words Drift is dishing out. Several more drones are put out of commission in the process.

When Drift attacks the combat drone, it doesn't fall apart quite as fast as Drift was probably expecting. It snaps a hand out and grabs for his neck. If it catches him, twin needle-like tendrils fire from its wrist and punch into Drift's neck to inject the nanoprobes that do the Borg's dirty work of turning people into cyber-zombies.

But, even if that fails, there are still a lot of plasma bolts flying around, not to mention the very sharp blades that threaten Drift whenever he gets into melee range with one of the drones.
Wally West The trouble with speedsters is they have a fast metabolism. The blessing of speedsters.. is this same thing. When the Combat Borg slams those probs into Drift's neck it sends those nanonites in. However as the nanonites will find and any data coming back-- Drift's molecular structure moves at a rapid pace. It is healing far, far faster then a normal human's cells would.

This means any alterations done, is about undone just as quickly.

However the pain-- oh the pain was great.

So while the stuff tries to build cybernetics, it finds it being broken down by the body. Though for Wally this comes with him nearly gritting his teeth in pain and about falling over onto his side. "Nrrrh.." He attempts to push himself away from the Borg that did this to him.

Though as a few plasma shots come in. A few nail him along the leg and on the side of his chest. He finds another rock however, a very small pebble actually and winces a bit, even as the pain starts to subside.

He waits for the Borg to get in closer, then he stares at the machine, "Futile this you mother..." Then with a swing of his arm at high velocity. He throws that small pebble at the speeds of a racing bullet.
Regina of Borg      The bullet-pebble is right on target. It impacts the combat drone's shield and punches right through into his chest, sending him crashing to the ground as sparks and arcs of electricity fly from the wound.

Still, there are still 2 dozen drones on the attack. The loss of the combat drones does not seem to diminish their resolve to stop Drift. The close in, trying to inject him again, trying to slice at him, trying to pummel him with plasma fire. "We have no mother. We have a queen."
Wally West The drones come in and Drift hasn't recovered. Which isn't good for him-- great for them though! As while he is able to knock away their attempts to re-inject him. They do cut at his arm, blast him in the chest and one even slashes apart his reflective visor showing that angry irish green eye glaring right at them.

Cause as anyone knows Wally-- and by the fact his hair is clear to see-- he is a true, natural red head, which probably says, yep-- lots of Irish blood.

Drift though doesn't stay down long. Those plasma burns from early on in the fight starting to heal up, while the new ones only slow him down a touch. With his eyes on the prize. He quickly bolts where he stands, at least faster then a human can and barrels through a few them.

He then races around before he kicks up the speed punching through again. He veers around one more time. This time letting out a battlecry as he breaks the speed barrier and comes in at full force for the lot of the drones standing around.
Regina of Borg      Again, Drift's speed is far too much for the drones to match. He easily plows through the ranks, sending drones flying every whichway again. Drones crash into drones, break open on rocks, land on their backs, and several do not rise again.

Then, Drift moves in for that sonic boom bash. The drones may not move quickly, but they are very much machine and so their reaction time is both fast and syncronized throughout the group. Even as he starts smashing through them again, they hold out their blades, and if Drift is not careful he may well end up with a sword or claws or a circular saw punctured through his body.
Wally West Drift doesn't think about them having all their blades, claws, and saws ready for him when he comes in. Which leads to a rather messy turn of events as he passes through at super sonic speeds. The Speedster can be seen coming in a dark black and red blur, then suddenly he is crashing, rolling, and sliding across the ground.

His whole body is cut up and he grits his teeth as he digs his hand into the dirt. He tries to pick himself up, while speaking with clenched teeth. "..what.. will it take.. to get you guys to go away." He nearly falls back down on his knee. Blood dripping from his body as he shudders in pain.

But he wasn't about to give up. Instead he looks over at one of the Borgs that was down, then back at the group. Then forcing himself to ignore the pain, he starts to run around the group. Kicking up dust as he does. Attempting to blind the Borgs to what he is doing.

The next thing the Borgs may find themselves is under assault by their own fallen comrades! How? By the fact they are being flung right at them. Soon this is followed by stealth attacks in the dust, but striking for their backsides with high kicks and knife jabs at high speeds.

Yet Drift doesn't keep that up for long, for some high speed rocks then come in as well-- and another body to top it off.
Regina of Borg      The remaining drones are pelted with their fallen, their own weapons, and large rocks. It does plenty of damage. Every few seconds another drone goes down, hit with a body or a blade through their chest or a rock to the face. But, even for this, the Borg calculate a strategy. They form into a circle within the cyclone, their backs to each other, then each drone pulls a grenade from its belt.

Soon, there are about a dozen plasma grenades flying around in the whirlwind. One wrong move and Drift could easily be caught in the series of plasma explosions that soon follow.
Wally West Drift can't move fast enough to avoid the grenades that are flying everywhere! Though he avoids a few, the damage stacks up and those cuts are still pretty raw. He grits his teeth as he gets caught in the explosion.

He gets flung back and goes head over heel a few times, before coming to a rolling stop. He lays there, playing dead. Catching his breath really as the drones maybe move in. He is acting dead the whole time, buying some time.

More like buying his own body enough time to grab up some reserves, because he gets up and then goes to flip kick a Borg in the face, before bolting off.

At first it seems like he has run off. Perhaps a victory for them, however another sonic boom is heard in the distance as then Drift comes speeding in. However this time, he does allow for their blades to get him, because he makes a very hard stop. Allowing that wave of energy to go rushing ahead.

His hope is it will catch them off guard--send them off balance.

Because as soon has they go off balance, that is when he goes in to strike and he strikes with rapid punches, kicks and throwing others into another. In his mind everything is moving slow motion, though it is all happening in a blink of an eye.
Regina of Borg      It works quite well! The Borg drones are blown off balance, and can't get their blades back down to meet the charge this time. They are punched, kicked, and thoroughly pummeled into sparking, twitching paste. In fact, there is only one drone left standing.

But, that last drone is another combat model, this one even more heavily armed than the others. It looks more like someone in power armor than a cyborg. And it is similarly equipped. One arm is fully comprised of what looks to be some sort of cannon. The other holds a grenade much larger than the other grenades. Both start charging, then the cannon fires. But, it doesn't fire a destructive beam. It fires a tractor beam, sure to arrest the movement of anyone who is caught in it.

Then, once it has Drift held down, the grenade makes a high-pitched whine as it charges up before it is thrown at Drift. When the grenade goes off, it is like a mini nuclear bomb. A thick explosion like some kind of green sun expands around Drift before the energy pushes upward in a mushroom cloud.
Wally West Drift was not expecting to run into /another/ combat model. The last one standing at that, "Aw cripes.." He gets out before he tries to bolt, only to find a tractor beam getting him. He grits his teeth and tries to fight the pull.

He can hear the whine and reaches his hand forward, his feet just-- spinning up dirt as he tries to fight the pull. When the grenade is thrown though, it is what breaks not only the tractor beam hold, but also sends Wally sky rocket.

The green explosion is behind him, but Drift-- Drift is no where to be seen when the explosion settles and that is cause where he lands is far away from the battle site. By the time the Borgs do figure out where he may have landed, the Speedster is already gone.
