Ayako Hasekawa     Tonight's New Moon is special! It marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year. What better day for fortune telling? At least, that's what a certain water spirit thinks. Oh, but we're getting ahead of ourselves here.

Slightly off the main path through Spring, exists a pale blue light that stands out in the night. Those that follow the light to it's source find that the light is coming from floating pale blue flames which are surrounding something simultaneously out of place yet somehow fitting. That is, one Ayako Hasekawa dressed in deep blue fortune telling clothing that makes her look like some sort of eerie spirit or fairy. She is sitting on a black lacquered chair with soft blue cushions on it, which itself is on a fluffy cloth mat of sky blue decorated with dark blue roses. In front of her is a table with a dark blue tablecloth embroidered with midnight blue roses along with another chair. A nearby cherry tree sheds cherry blossom petals from time to time, giving the scene a bit of an otherworldly beauty.

As for Ayako herself, she's lounging back in her chair, idly shuffling a deck of tarot cards on her sleeves. "Ahh... such a nice night for fortune telling~!"
Brooklyn Nights like this are always Brooklyn's favorite kind of nights. Nothing bad tends to happen. It's calm, it's quiet, and the Multiverse has so much more to offer than your usual night in New York City. Specifically because he can walk around without being screamed at and run away from. It was while he was off on one of these walks that he happened to come across the blue light, which drew his attention. Wandering towards it, he soon found the source, and the person sitting there with the tarot cards. The gargoyle's head tilts a bit as he walks up close, "Hey there."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly as Brooklyn approaches. What? Of course she's not going to scream or run away from him. It's not like he's attacking her or anything. "Hello! Err..." She blinks her eyes once and then clears her throat. "Ahem. Good evening." And then smiles serenely... and then breaks by giggling brightly.

"Aww... I'm not good at the mysterious moody air thingie! So much for trying that out... so let me start over again!" Ayako smiles cheerfully as she sets the deck of tarot cards down on the table. "Hello! I'm Ayako Hasekawa, a water spirit. Please call me Ayako!" She winks slowly and raises a pointer finger. "Want to have your fortune told?"
Brooklyn "Have my fortune told?" Brooklyn asks as he moves a little bit closer, "Sure, Ayako. I'll let you tell my fortune." He replies, as he steps up to the table, "And don't worry about the whole 'mysterious and moody' thing, not everybody can pull it off."

Looking over the table for a second, he crouches down in front of it, setting himself at the right height. Never really be a fan of chairs, tail tends to get in the way after all. As far as the fortune telling goes, he has no reason to doubt it, he's seen magic in action way too many times to not believe in this sort of thing.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles and sighs softly. "Aww... I was hoping I could. I guess I just need to practice a lot. Like a lot lot lot!" She giggles and shakes her head.

Her oversleeved hands gesture towards the deck of cards. "Please cut the deck." One of Ayako's pointer fingers pokes out of the sleeve again as she smiles awkwardly. "But... I do have to say... I don't have any fortune telling magic. This is just a hobby of mine~."
Brooklyn The gargoyle reaches down to very carefully cut the deck using those talons of his, so he can put the lower half of the deck on top, "Oh, well that's fine. To be honest I've probably had enough of real magic to last a lifetime." He says, with a faint grin, as he sits back down on his legs a bit.

"I'm Brooklyn, by the way." He says, realizing that he had failed to introduce himself up until this point, and that's just rude.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly. "Nice to meet you, Brooklyn! That's an interesting name." Her sleeves reach forward and gingerly take the deck of tarot cards. A deep breath follows and Ayako becomes serious. At least she takes this part seriously.

"These five cards will be your fortune!" She swiftly deals five cards in a cross shape in front of the gargoyle. "This card represents the past." Ayako leans forward and flips over the card closest to Brooklyn. The Star, upside-down. "Hmm... were you kind of stubborn or pessimistic in the past?"
Brooklyn "I've always been a little stuborn." Brooklyn replies, "Comes with the nature of being a gargoyle, I suppose." He says, "As far as being pessimistic...Yeah, there's been some events that have made me feel that way." He's not gonna lie to her, it is true. Especially everything involving Demona. Even thinking about it makes his tail twitch a bit.

"There's been people in my past that have caused a lot of grief, I'll put it that way. They've made me reconsider my views on the world. But then I've met folks that have made me feel a lot better, too."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly and nods her head. "Well, nothing wrong with being a little stubborn. It makes sure you don't charge ahead too fast." Her sleeves gather together in front of her body. "But, I'm glad you've met some good people."

Once again, the sleeves move forward and flip over the card on the left side of the cross. "This card represents the Present." The Moon, upside-down. Ayako's head inclines to the side as she considers this card for a while. "Uncertainty, yet you keep moving forward." Her amber gaze returns to Brooklyn as she giggles softly. "The Multiverse certainly is a strange place, so no surprise there!"
Brooklyn "Heh." Brooklyn can't help but laugh a little bit at that card, "No kidding. Every time I wake up, seems like a new thing is happening. Gotta take time out to take it all in." He says, "I mean I'm sitting here having my fortune told by a water spirit. That has to count for something, right?"

That card seems pretty apt, he thinks. Indeed every time he goes out into the multiverse, it seems like something new and crazy happens. Meeting strange aliens and helping them fight off bandits, meet and greets that turn into hostage situations, the list goes on and on.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head quickly. "But that's the reason why I love the Multiverse so much! There's always something to see!" She giggles softly and then shakes her head. "But anyway..."

She reaches forward and flips over the card on the right side of the cross. "This card represents the immediate future." The Heirophant, upside-down. "Hmm...? You will encounter a situation or person that severely endangers the status quo. I... want more information, though..." Ayako immediately flips over the card closest to her. "This is the card that represents the Future." Justice, upright. "Ah. It seems you will recognize this person or situation for what it is, as it strikes home with you, and will emerge victorious from it." She smiles softly. "Hmm... not a bad fortune that."
Brooklyn The gargoyle rubs his beak a little bit at the mention of the first card. A situation or person that endagers the status quo? Interesting, though when she immediately flips over the other card, he hmms at her explanation.

"So I'm going to come across something that's possibly dangerous, but I'll know it when I see it and be able to overcome?" He thinks about that for a second. While it describes a lot of situations he's been in before, he's never been super prepared for it. This time he might have an upper hand.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head slowly. "It might be a situation similar to one you've seen before in the past." She thinks to herself for a moment as she regards the last card in the center of the cross. "Oh. Right. That last card is a card of guidance. It can help, but sometimes it says nonsense advice that is really difficult to interpret until after the fact. So... yeah. It might hinder too." She nods her head once. "It's up to you if we should see what it has to say."
Brooklyn "Sure, flip it." Brooklyn says, "I want to see what it has to offer." He replies, wanting to take a look at the final card and see what the full future has in store for him. Plus any advice he can get on how to deal with the Multiverse isn't a bad thing.

"I always like hearing this stuff, even if you can't believe everything you hear from a card...Same reason I like fortune cookies and TV."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head once and then smiles softly. "Well then... here goes." She swallows and blinks her eyes once slowly. Her sleeves reach forwards and flip over the card in the center. The Magician, upright. "A-ahh... Hmm... There are many choices to be made, but you shouldn't hold back. Listen to yourself and be yourself, and you'll be perfectly fine." She smiles brightly.
Brooklyn "I like that." Brooklyn says, as he looks at the card and then back at Ayako, "I love being me, so being me should be easy." He says, grinning as he looks the card over a bit, "You're really good at this. Thank you." He offers a smile, "This was a lot of fun, and really cool. Definitely an awesome hobby."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles brightly and shuffles the cards back into her deck. "Ah ha ha..." She giggles nervously. "Thank you! And you're very welcome, Brooklyn!" She leans back in her chair and continues to shuffle the deck. "As long as I give the people I tell fortunes to something to think about, I think of it as a success!"

She waves goodbye cheerfully to Brooklyn. "Hope to run into you some other time!"
Brooklyn The gargoyle bows and sweeps his wings around him as he does so, a more formal looking thing than he would usually do, "I'm sure you will!" He says, as he turns to head off, resuming his walk through the Spring region, looking to enjoy the rest of his night
Kari Wolf     Kari is pulling along a small red wagon, in her heavier and stronger Dire Wolf armor. In the wagon is a thermos, some crackers, a small jar of a sweet cookie spread, and some utensils. Although Kari doesn't eat, she figures Ayako might appreciate the food. She pulls the wagon along to Ayako, the wheels rattling as she approaches.
"Hi Miss Ayako! I brought some stuff for you so you don't get hungry while telling fortunes!" the shinki says when she gets up to the little table.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako blinks her eyes quickly and places the deck of cards onto the table. "Ah? Oh. Hello Kari!" She gathers her sleeves in front of her body and floats off of her chair. Okay, she really is looking and living up to the 'Spirit' part of 'Water Spirit'.

She floats over to Kari cheerfully, her empty, voluminous skirt billowing in the air. Ayako's head inclines to the side gently. "You brought me some... food?" She blushes lightly. "I... well. I don't eat." Her amber eyes do note the thermos, though! She presses down on the table, making it sink into the cloth mat like before. "But it does look like you brought something to drink."
Kari Wolf     Kari beams. "Master recommended a green tea and brewed it for me! I'm not allowed to use the stove because of all the accidents that happen to shinki when they cook." She helpfully explains, grabbing the thermos with both hands and waddling over to Ayako with it.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly and shakes her head. "I know how that feels. I'm not allowed to cook anything in a kitchen because everything I make turns out bad, weird, strange, and very inedible! Being made of water and being unable to smell or taste will do that to you!" She bows her head as she takes the thermos in her sleeves. "Thank you very much!"

It actually looks a bit funny watching Ayako's sleeves hold the thermos and open it. Same with her sleeves holding the thermos as she takes a drink from it. "Oh, very nice green tea!" Ayako smiles cheerfully as she looks up from the drink.
Kari Wolf     Kari watches with a confused expression on her face as Ayako's sleeves take the thermos and open it. How does that even work?
It only takes a moment for Kari to cheerfully suggest that Ayako can share the crackers and spread with her guests though. "Master says she takes a thermos of that with her for lunch most days!"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako inclines her head to the side gently when she notes Kari's confusion. She just blinks her eyes slowly and then smiles softly when Kari suggests she share the snacks. "Ah. Hmm... well... I think I'll just save them for later. But that is an idea!" She secures the thermos cover as she floats over and places the thermos back onto the wagon. On the way she does take the crackers and the spread. Shouldn't be rude to Kari, after all!

She floats back over to Kari. "So! What brings you out here? Want to have your fortune told again?" Ayako smiles softly.
Kari Wolf     Kari ohs. "No, I came out to see how you are doing, Miss Ayako!" She says brightly.
She looks around for anybody approaching the table and then says, sounding a little concerned. "Is it kind of a slow night?"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako lands gently back onto her pillow-covered chair and leans back into the pillows. "Aahh, well, I'm doing just fine." She smiles softly. "Hmm?"

Her amber eyes glance around for a moment and then she shakes her head slowly as she blinks just as slowly. "It's about as fast as every other night I tell fortunes." Ayako smiles gently. "But even if it's fast, or slow. It's fine."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly as she watches Kari head off. She places the deck of tarot cards onto the table and starts weaving together cherry blossom petals to make a circular flower garland with them. If anything, she seems to be enjoying the evening!
Morgan Vale Tarot cards sounds cool. Morgan's never had a reading, even if he doesn't believe in it's accuracy, and heard about someone doing one as he travelled through Spring. So, he finds himself coming to the table, chains at his wrists and ankles swaying as he moves slowly towards Ayako. "Hey, are you the chick doing tarot readings? Lemme in. How much?" The death god grins, as he approaches the table. This should be fun!
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako startles slightly as Morgan suddenly arrives! Or rather, it wasn't really that sudden. It's just she was so focused on weaving the cherry blossoms together that she didn't notice Morgan until he said something! She quickly puts the little thingie off to the side and then smiles brightly. "Welcome!"

She nods her head once, slowly blinking her eyes as she does so. "Un! I am! I'm Ayako Hasekawa, a water spirit. Please call me Ayako." Ayako shakes her head slowly. "As for much, I only ask for your time and your name. I don't charge money for this, as... it's not like it's guaranteed to come true, after all." She giggles softly.
Morgan Vale "Well, then, name's Morgan Vale. Don't know the time." Morgan grins, sitting down in front of the table. "So, you're going to tell me my fortune?". Morgan glances at the cards, and then back to Ayako. He's rather excited for this!
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako giggles brightly and sticks her tongue out slightly. "Nice to meet you, Morgan." She shakes her head slowly and then smiles softly again. "Yes, I am. Please, cut the deck if you would." A few deep breaths are taken as she settles into her chair and tries to focus.
Morgan Vale Morgan cuts the deck as requested, passing it over to Ayako. "So, how does this work? Do you just draw cards and they tell a story? Or, as a water spirit, does it actually have some sort of REAL MAGIC? It's fine either way, never done this before."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly and nods her head quickly. "That's the way it works." She smiles and shakes her head slowly. "Sadly, I don't have any real magic that actually tells fortunes." One eye closes slowly in a wink. "But I still happen to like telling fortunes all the same."

A deep breath later, she nods her head once seriously. "Well then. These five cards shall be your fortune." Ayako swiftly deals out five cards in the shape of a cross. "Let's start... with the Past." She reaches for the card closest to Morgan Vale and flips it over. The World, upside-down. "Eehh? Something incomplete with unsettling feelings?"
Morgan Vale Morgan stares at the card. This is the Past, huh. He can't think of anything...but maybe it /does/ mean something? He thinks hard into his past for something that could be related to it..."I forgot to turn in some library books one summer. I still think of it everytime I go to the library." He grins. Closest he'll get!
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako inclines her head to the side gently. "Hmm... well." She shakes her head slowly... "Perhaps the next card will tell me something that helps." Her sleeve reaches over to the card on the left of the cross. "This card... represents the Present." The High Priestess, upright.

"Huh... Secrets." Ayako shakes her head slowly. "Someone, something, or maybe even yourself... a secret is being kept. But at the same time, something is supporting you as well."
Morgan Vale Morgan stares at the card. His eyes narrow, as he laughs. "Are you sure this isn't magic? Because that is fucking spot on. Next card's gonna be great, I bet."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako shakes her head slowly and giggles softly. "Pretty sure! I personally don't know any fortune telling magic." She blinks her eyes slowly at her cards being spot on and then nods her head slowly. "Well... let's see if it continues to be spot on then."

Her oversleeved hand reaches over to the card on the right side of the cross. "This card represents the immediate future." The Fool, upright. Ayako blinks her eyes for a moment and then glances at the two already revealed cards. "Ah! Hmm... it's a start of a new beginning for you. Perhaps it will help you get past whatever the Past Card is saying is incomplete?" She smiles softly.
Morgan Vale "Dunno about that. I lost the books I never returned." Morgan grins even sharper. Though, he's already hit a new beginning very recently, what with becoming a death god and getting these chains, but ey, it's not magic! These cards are just hilarious coincidences, right?
Ayako Hasekawa     "Books, huh?" Ayako giggles softly and shakes her head slowly. "But... let's see what your Future card says." Her sleeves reach for the card closest to her on the cross. The Devil, upright. "I... Hmm... I see." She nods her head once. "An obsession with material objects that threatens to dominate you." One amber eye closes as she thinks and gazes upwards. "It might be money. But whatever it is, it's going to try to control your life."
Morgan Vale Morgan glances slightly at his chains, before looking up Ayako. "Yeah, it's probably money. I mean, it makes the world go round, right?" In actuality, he thinks that, if accurate, it might be referring to the chains. Which scares him. A lot.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako shakes her head slowly. "For a spirit, money is like the leaves that fall during Autumn." She winks slowly, "But I do admit it does help make living life easier. It's just not something to be super obsessed about." She shakes her head once seriously. "But whatever it is that might try to control you, you have to remember that you yourself let it control you."

Her amber eyes glance down at the one face-down card. "There is one card left, though. It's a card of guidance. Which may help. It might hurt. But it's up to you if you want to know what it has to say." Ayako nods her head once.
Morgan Vale "Flip it. I'm not afraid of what it may say." Morgan puts his arms behind his head and leans back. The final card will be interesting, indeed.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head once and then reaches towards the one face-down card. "Very well." With just a bit of nervousness, she flips it over. The Star, upright. "Ah!" A bright smile crosses Ayako's face. "Hope! Don't give up, and you should be fine." Her gaze turns from The Devil to The Star. "And it seems you can escape from whatever it is that is trying to control you."
Morgan Vale Morgan sees The Star, and listens to Ayako's explanation of it, which makes him smile. "Well, then I probably won't go bankrupt! Thanks. Here. It's a tip." Morgan draws a five dollar bill from his pocket, and puts it on the table as he stands. "After all, you gave me /your/ time as well." And then he proceeds to leave, not returning for the money even if asked.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly and then startles when she's tipped. "I... well... thank you very much, Morgan!" She waves goodbye cheerfully as he leaves by flapping one of her sleeves.

Once he's gone, she gazes at the five dollar bill and looks it over carefully. "Money from different places in the Multiverse always looks so different... yet so similar." Said dollar bill vanishes into the darkness of one of her sleeves as the deck of tarot cards is picked up again and the face up cards shuffled back in.
