Bahu A Pleasant Night. That's what alot of people would call this. It was still early enough in the evening to plan out something fun to do and the cool air made getting there refreshing. The recreation branch is as popular of a destination as ever, with throngs of people moving in and out of the area. It seemed like it was going to just be a regular ol' evening.

In the skies directly above the place though, an odd sort of phenomenon is taking place. It's magical in nature and at first seems to be nothing but a purple hued ball of energy. It's also high enough in the air so that unless you were stargazing, the average recreationalist would miss it.
Bahamut      Bahamut does not make it to Union Headquarters very often. So, the large dragon is not entirely surprised that when he finally does...something unusual is happening. He almost didn't notice it himself, but being taller and more alert to magical things, he just gets a feeling and glances upward. The dragon raises an eyeridge, then spreads his wings and takes to the skies. He flies upward until he is withing a few dozen meters of the disturbance, then holds his position. He doubts anything dangerous is this deep in Union territory, but it pays to be safe, so he is ready to fire spells or slash with his claws if need be.
Blurr     Blurr is also a lot taller than most people around here. Though he is not more alert to magical things. Still, magical energy is at least energy, so he does pick up on -something- though he is not sure what it is. Peering up at it, he watches, ready to make a move if it turned out to be dangerous.
Corona Arclite Magic was hardly Corona's thing, but when weird energy readings start going off practically inside the base, it's hard not to take notice. Which is why the foxgirl comes scrambling about with some sort of tracking device in her hands, fiddling with the controls.

The best visual reference would be just to imagine some sort of clockwork contraption version of a PK meter. Which is clicking and beeping rather irritably as she stops practically directly under the disturbance and looks up. "Ayup, that most definately ain't normal at all." One hand goes up to tip her hat brim back out of the way, and then tap the side of her goggles to try and get a better visual adjustment.

Unsurprisingly she's distracted enough with the anomalty in the sky that she doesn't notice either the large dragon or the robot nearby already.
Annie Sandberg      Annie gets a bit of a funny feeling as she sits on one of those miniature merry-go-rounds. It feels like the kind of interference with her systems that tends to be caused by powerful magic. Looking up, she spots the source of it. "That's we-e-e-ird," she says, her voice skipping like a lagging computer. "Some-some-some kind of m-magic- ow," she adds, frowning as the interference gives her a bit of a headache. "But what is it?"
Xiaomu There's a very inviting video arcade somewhere in the Recreation Branch, but instead, Xiaomu was in the Ring of Philosophy, and she's still dressed for the Grid with an identity disc (powered down) in her hand. Xiaomu's barely gone five steps from the Ring's front door when she looks up, though, her ears angling back ...

And then she's no longer in the sleek armor of the Grid, but instead in her usual qipao and vest, tucking the identity disc away and getting out (somehow) her Buddhist staff. "I thought Njorun was warded against ..." She trails off, adjusting her stance as she takes a few steps closer to the spot below that gathering energy. If this is coming in and not setting off security alarms somewhere, it must be a 'welcomed' arrival of some sort - maybe somebody's working the ritual somewhere and got the destination point wrong.
Bahu The purple energy orb spends a few moments hovering before it reacts to some sort of invisible force. Tendrils of blue energy start to form around the orb, seemingly feeding into it. The focus point grows, almost violently in size. It went from being the size of a medicine ball (roughly, it was quite high in the air and hard to get an accurate size on) to being the size of a small car. The surface of the orb also ripples erratically, and this increases in frequency the larger it grows. What was once just a small blip of a magical signature seems to be turning into a huge one with no signs of stopping.

And just as one would think that, the entire process seems to...fail. Maybe it grew too large? Maybe the original caster just gave up on it? Whatever the cause, the magical tendrils dissappear without warning and the purple orb vanishes with a cloud of dispursing white smoke and an audible *PAF!*. From that though, a white and black striped egg that's only a little bit larger than a football, makes it's way down towards the recreational branch, spinning end over end in the process.

Those who were attracted to the magical signature in the first place would note that once the cloud effect happens, it completely disappears from any sort of tracking. Heck, even the egg didn't seem that magical.
Blurr     Blurr keeps watching the signature grow and grow, and he was starting to worry a bit when suddenly, it disappears! And...an egg drops out of it? Huh. Curious, the Autobot rushes to attempt to catch it, hoping to keep it from landing somewhere unpleasant. Though if it is much smaller than he, that might be difficult.
Deelel Xiaomu is not alone as she enters, Deelel is here and her clothing seems to be some hybrid of a light suit, or like a program tried to make a light suit with human world materials. She's also got these funky tattoos on her exposed arm that look like part of a circuit board, which are fintly glowing.

"Wait what's this?"
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite blinks a couple of times. "Is it suppose to be doing that? I'm not sure it's suppose to -- ack!" She yelps and jumps back as the scanner nearly explodes in her hands, dropping it on the ground. Fortunately it doesn't have long to smoke before she stomps on it rapidly with her heavy boots to smother the sparks before they can spread.

Then pulls a notepad out of her vest and scribbles on it. "Increase upper limit on energy tracker. Topping out current scale is..." she glances at the burn marks on the inside of her glove. ".. unpleasant."

Then looks back up. "Really? All that just for an egg?"
Xiaomu Xiaomu's staff clatters to the ground as she bolts forward, getting under the egg and trying to catch it safely. She's still very curious what this was, and how it happened, but answers cannot be obtained from an egg that appeared only to smash on the ground.
Annie Sandberg      Annie's discomfort grew, to the point where she almost thought she'd have to shut herself off temporarily to avoid damage- but suddenly, it stopped, as the magical ball was replaced with... a falling egg. Curious about these events, Annie got off the merry-go-round and headed in the direction where the egg seemed to be falling. She didn't think she'd be in time to catch it, but she hoped it didn't break at least.
Bahamut      Bahamut looks down as he hears Annie's stammering and notices that serveral others have spotted the phenomenon. But, just as he is about to call out to stay back, the phenomenon just...pafs. Bahamut blinks, then swoops in as he notices the egg. Luckily for Blurr, Bahamut is smaller and in the air. He is able to adjust his flying so as to safely cradle the egg and bleed off speed.

He still comes screaming in toward the ground like a comet, currents of air visibly flowing off his wings. He realizes he is still coming in too fast, and spreads his wings farther. It looks like he will make it when...well, metal claws do not a safe cradle make. The egg slips out and heads down toward the others again. But, at least it is only falling from about 50 feet up rather than whatever it was before.
Bahu The egg, thanks to the efforts of Butterfinger Quarterback dragon, isn't exactly safe, but at least it's not flying in at a million miles per hour like it was. It slips through his fingers and falls again, but at a much more controllable speed. At this rate, it'd be easily caught by the fox woman without too much trouble. Surprisingly, the egg is a little weighty, but it has a smooth, almost glossy feeling to it.

It's also immediately obvious that something is inside this thing, as the egg shifts it's weight somewhat regularly.
Xiaomu Xiaomu lets out a breath, and gets back to her feet after catching the egg, holding it carefully in her arms. The sense of movement inside prompts her ears to prick up a bit, though, and she raps her fingers gently against the side of it.
Annie Sandberg      At last, Annie arrives, approaching those who had gathered around the egg and looking up at it with interest as it sits in Xiaomu's arms. "What is it? Some kind of... Pokemon egg?" Well, there were a lot of things it could be an egg of, but a Pokemon seemed different enough to have its egg appearing in a magical burst like that. She did notice its slight movement, however, and stepped back in awe. "Is it... hatching?!"
Deelel Deelel Watches the egg for a momenet peering at it with an expression of childlike wonder.

"Ohh wait is this an eg of some sort? Is there something in it?" She looks at it very curious now. Hey stuff made out of matter is alien and still in many ways very new to her. "I have no idea Annie."
Corona Arclite "Do Pokemon normally drop eggs out of energy vortexes in the sky?", Corona asks as she pulls her goggles off, letting them hang down around her neck. "... and what's a Pokemon?"
Bahamut      Bahamut looks a bit sheepish as he lands. He dropped the egg, after all. "Is everyone alright?" he asks as he stands over Xiaomu and Annie and Deelel. He blinks as he sees the motion and the others reactions. "Hatching so soon after being summoned. I wonder why whoever summoned is not here to claim it?"
Blurr     It's probably a good thing that Blurr didn't catch the egg, due to the fact that he's so much larger than it and also has very hard armor. He probably should have thought about that before trying to catch it, but oh well, Xia has it under control! He peers curiously at the quivering egg, attempting to scan it and get an idea of what's inside.
Annie Sandberg      "...Not that I know of," Annie answers Corona. But it looks like the dragon has a better idea of what's going on here. It was brought by a summoning spell? It must have been summoned to the wrong place then. ...Why would anyone summon an egg anyway, she wonders.
Bahu Bahu is...not having a good time. At some point during the fall he'd gained consciousness...only to immediately want to throw up. Is that..even possible in an egg? The rapid spins and subjection to gravity had not been kind. It was cramped to all high hell and back in here, with next to no space to even shift himself to a slightly more comfortable position. But the worst thing about all of this was the absolute darkness. Where was this? Why did it feel like he'd fallen somewhere? What...happened? Taking a few moments to let the dizziness wear off, he starts to place his hands on the egg's inner shell and start to push at it...with little success.

Xaiomu's tapping causes a sqeaky gasp of surprise, which she could pretty easily hear. Whatever was inside certainly was aware of her now..or at least of some rhythmic force of being.

...Weird.
Xiaomu "I'm pretty sure that summoning didn't work as intended," Xiaomu points out to Bahamut. Then she hears that squeak, and her ears perk up, almost to pointing straight upwards vertically. "Well, whoever's in here is alive ..." She looks to Annie and Corona, who are closer, "Could one of you hand me my staff?"

She bends down to place the egg on the ground/floor, balancing it carefully. "Hey, if you're awake in there," she says to the egg/its inhabitant, "can you understand us? Should I help crack that open for you?"
Corona Arclite "Huh?.. Oh." Corona turns her head a bit, spotting the staff. "This one?" She steps on one end of the staff to leverage it off the ground and grab it instead of stooping over to pick it up. "Yeah, wouldn't want to lose this, it looks pretty fancy."
Bahamut      Bahamut can do little more than watch the egg as Xiaomu sets it down and starts talking to it. "Whoever you are in there, you are safe here." he says, in the most gentle tone his deep, booming voice can get. "So, if you need assistance to get out, and if you can understand us, tap on the egg's shell twice."

Despite his gentle tone, Bahamut has seen too much to just accept that an egg is not dangerous. He is on alert, ready to strike to protect those around him.
Blurr     "Huh, looks to be some kind of small reptilian with a few mammalian characteristics in there." Blurr states as the data from the scans come back. "I think it's trying to get out. Um...anyone have something to help it? I mean I would but, I might hurt it by accident." Or worse.
Annie Sandberg      "Hello!" Annie shouts, trying to get as close to the egg as she can so whatever's inside can hear. "Hm... I think I have a tool that might be able to help," she says. "But maybe there are better options."
Deelel Deelel is just peering now and she looks at Xiaomu pausing "Isn't that normally bad for what's hatching?" She heard something about baby birds won't surive if they don't /break/ free of their own egg she has to wonder if that is true for this?
Bahu Bahu is giving it his best shot at hatching, but this egg is tougher than expected. He raises both of his hands up and begins striking it the best he could, but getting leverage in such a cramped space is proving difficult. What he needed was something sharp to puncture this mini-boss but what did he have? Not even knowing what he looked like in the complete darkness, he starts rubbing his hands over where he perceived his face was. Teeth? Okay yeah, but there wasn't anything for them to latch onto. There were odd protrusions on his head. Horns maybe?

About the time he figures this out, several other voices had made themselves known, including one that may as well been spoken by some booming planetary voice. The egg stops it's movements for a second as it seems to contemplate the choice. It'd be easier for someone to help. He'd honestly give it some more thought, but another concern had made itself known; he couldn't breathe. Immediately sent into a panic. He starts punching and kicking on the shell with more vigor than he had before, slamming his horns into it repeatedly.

At this, he started to find success. The shell starts to crack open from the inside, as several bashes seemed to have done the trick. He gives it one last heavy strike, bashing the front of the shell open and sending himself onto the ground, small splinters of shell flying out in a tiny, moderately adorable explosion. He coughs as he starts pulling in proper air, spitting out whatever small amount of fluid that was still in his mouth.
Blurr     Blurr watches as the small reptile finally breaks its way out of the shell, and plops onto the ground. It doesn't look dangerous, at least not to him, given his sheer size compared to it. It's...kinda cute, actually. "Uhm, hi there...? Welcome to Njorun. Or should I say welcome to the world? I'm Blurr."
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite hops back a couple of steps out of tensed reflexes when the egg shell more or less blows itself open and deposits the contents out into the open. "Well that sure ain't no critter like I've ever seen."
Annie Sandberg      At last, the egg breaks away, and Annie claps excitedly! "Yippee! You did it!" she says, glad to see the hatching was successful. "Aw, you're so cute! My name's Annie!"
Xiaomu Xiaomu was just about to give the egg a couple of whacks with her staff when its occupant finally cracks through from the inside; she is happy to instead help peel away some more of the shell for the hatchling. "Looks like you made it before we could help," she says wryly. "Good to meet you, anyway - you got a name? I'm Xiaomu."

She certainly doesn't sound like she's talking to a newborn; on the contrary, she speaks like the hatchling can fully understand her anyway. Of course, given that the egg appeared from magic and seems to have been summoned somehow, that may not be an invalid assumption.
Bahamut      Bahamut blinks when the shell suddenly explodes open and a little dragonling falls out. The big dragon lets out a small chuckle, then steps back so as to not startle the little one any further. "Yes, welcome to the world. I am Bahamut and..." he pauses as he realizes he doesn't actually know these young ladies gathered around the hatchling. "...well, I cannot say I know these ladies, but the foxy one helped save you from smashing into the ground."
Bahu Bahu keeps his eyes on the ground for a moment as his vision adjusts. It was..bright. Almost obscenely so. He pulls himself to sitting on his haunches, using his hands to wipe at his eyes a little bit. It's about then the various voices start to chime in towards him, prompting him to look up towards them. There were a few humans...and...some giant metal things..and then there was this flying thing oh god.

He starts to take in the sights, ignoring everyone for a moment as things...didn't look how they should. He seems enraptured by it all, only snapping back to the situation at hand when a hand picks off some of the stickier shell peieces. When Blurr speaks to him, the whelp offers a friendly wave in return, though as soon as he started to try to speak, he chokes yet again. He coughs up the rest of the fluid onto his hands, which prompts a gagging response as he flings the material off of his hands. Bleh. He takes his first full breath, feeling much better now. He has an appropriately child-like voice for his age, but appears to at least be sentient.

"Uhm..th-thank you Autosmaton-man? I'm s-s-sorry if I made anyone worried. Where...is this? Where are the summonsners?"
Corona Arclite Corona Arclite errrs. Adjusts her hat a bit. "We were gonna ask ya the same thing. Here, lemme help ya with that, uh, mess ya kinda made." She pulls off her bandana and hads it to the dragonling(?) to clean the egg goo off with.
Blurr     Blurr looks a bit concerned when the creature starts to gag again, though he is not exactly in any position to be of help with that. He glances nervously at the others, hoping they can do something about it maybe? "You okay, pal?" he asks, though this worry is alleviated when the dragonling finally speaks up. He crouches down as far as he can comfortably go in an attempt to get a better look at the newcomer, though he is still towering over the little guy, given his approximate height at around 30 feet.

"This is Njorun Station. I'm not sure about summoners. Looked like you came out of some sort of portal or subspace anomaly. Anyway, you got a name? Or do we need to name you?"
Bahamut      Bahamut smiles as the dragonling speaks up. "It was not your fault. As for the summoners...I do not know who summoned you. And, I am afraid it seems that whoever did was unwilling or unable to claim you. I cannot say what that will mean for you, but I can tell you that you are safe here."

As the others tend to the little dragoncat thing, Bahamut takes a look around, then looks back down at it. "As the dragon king of Spira, I would gladly offer you a spot within my temple. The priests and priestesses there would be more than willing to help care for you, should you need it. But, before that, you should check in with the Union authorities. They will get you set up."

Bahamut crouches down after that to get a better look at Bahu.
Annie Sandberg      Annie smiles toward the creature, pleasantly surprised that he could speak. "I'll be your friend too, okay? I always like meeting new people, and... I guess you're the newest!"
Bahu Bahu seems almost...a little intimidated by the two larger ones that are speaking with him. He doesn't shy away from them though, choosing to look up at them in earnest. When Bahamut comes a bit closer to him, he raises his ears a little bit, listening to him before pointing at him.

"Uhm...that sounds okay to me but...what's your name? I dunno what mine is yet but...I's got an idea."

He turns back towards Blurr and offers him a small shrug, though from Bahu's perspective, it's a little hard to pick up on any facial expressions. The shorter girl is much, much easier though, smiling towards her in return and nodding. He takes the towel handed to him and starts running it through his head and body, letting those soft scales shine through.

"Sure, we cans be friends. You'll be friends number one!"
Annie Sandberg      "I'm always number one when it comes to being friends," Annie says confidently, nodding back to the creature. It was, after all, what she was made for.
Blurr     "Yeah I'd offer to let you stay on the Ark but I think Bahamut's place would probably suit you better." Blurr chuckles a little bit, straightening up again. "Or you could just stay here, I'm sure the Union would be happy to accommodate you." He looks a little puzzled at his answer regarding the name. "So, uh, you know you have one already? But you're not sure what it is? Er, what's your best guess then?" Who would've given the newborn a name already?
Bahamut      If summons work somewhat similarly to his own world, then this creature was probably given a name before he was even summoned. Bahamut offers as gentle a smile as a big metal dragon with sharp teeth can manage, the rumbles pleasantly. "Yes, the Union will be able to care for you initially, but if you ever feel so inclined, you are welcome at the Temple of Bahamut. I am Bahamut, by the way."

Bahamut stands tall again, then grins. "I am afraid I must go, but Annie seems quite kind. I am sure she will be able to help you." He spreads his wings, then looks to the others. "I leave him in your care." Bahamut says. As though the little one was in his care to begin with. Then, with a flap of his wings, Bahamut is off and flying.
Bahu Bahu watches in awe as the giant dragon thing seemingly takes off without much ceremony, something that the little whelp was isntantly jealous of. As he leaves, he points towards Bahamut's retreating form.

"Bahamut?"

He then pauses a for a moment and smiles, pointing a finger back towards himself. "Bahu. My name is Bahu." He turns towards Blurr and nods in an official manner, seeming pleased with himself.

"That was the idea. Pretty clever, yes? Find coolest thing and name self after it. But...what's this Union thing? Can I eat it?"
Blurr     Wait, did the little guy just insinuate that -Bahamut- was the coolest thing in this room, and not Blurr? Seriously! Hmph, flying is -so- overrated! He stares after the retreating dragon, pouting slightly.

Finally, he turns back to Bahu, though he is now in a considerably less friendly mood. "Uh, right. -Bahu-..." Pshh. "And no, you can't eat it. The Union is where you are now. It's an alliance between a lot of different planets and civilizations, who are all dedicated to preserving sentient lifeforms in the Multiverse and neutralizing those who would threaten them." At least that's his own take on it.
