Dr. Violet Hunter      Violet has some interest in the Rookery. After all, Dragons are interesting beings. A number of Digimon even count as dragons. Might some even be here? Or even then, perhaps she could use the normal mundane (or at least mundane comparitively) dragons as part of her army.

Unfortunately she wasn't planning to attack it quite yet. Instead, one of her allies heard her discussing it, and decided to get to it.

Having scaled the valley down into the Rookery, a Gomamon is trying to sneak around. It's hiding behind various walls, nooks, and crannies, trying to sneak around, and get a feel for the Union troops present. Readying for his attack.

He does smile a bit, though. YES! Some water flows through the Rookery. He figured that Dragons would need to drink /something/, and their home would have a watering hole. But he was uncertain.

He is quite thankful for this. After all, otherwise? He wouldn't even be able to use his special attack!
Kudamon     Kudamon was just doing a routine check-up on the Rookery. Being an Elite with a rank of some kind, he seems to possess this weird idea that he has a duty to be as helpful as physically possible. So when he makes it to the Rookery, he's already flitting through the air, a strange white ghost-like silhouette that darts around as if it just didn't care about gravity at all.

The eerie white holy beast hovers to a stop when he spots a Gomamon. It's not a Gomamon X, so it's not from his batch of diminutive friends and allies...

"Halt!" he barks at the watery Digimon, floating down to stop, conspicuously avoiding getting /too/ close to the water. "You're in a restricted area without a valid RFID signal. Please vacate the premises immediately." He makes the best stern face he can manage, but somehow his gentle voice completely fails to seem intimidating. He is, after all, of the same level as this Gomamon.
Dr. Violet Hunter t Gomamon, somehow, manages to remain completely unintimidating as well. He flaps his front flipper-clawed-arm-things onto the ground, trying to make noise and be forceful.

"No! You stand down! I'm here to take this area, by force!"

It keeps this up, sort of like a seal trying to scare someone away. A baby seal. But, with Kudamon seeming likely unphasable, he is already moving in for the attack.

     "MARCHING FISHES!"

And, from the little stream of water nearby, a few fish pop out of nowhere. The fish fly through the air, arching through the air, aiming to hit into Kudamon.

Gomamon snirks, "I'm no half-assed Digimon! I'm a Gomamon who has mastered both land /and/ sea!"

From his somewhat sloppy movements, it's probably pretty obvious that he is a lot more used to water. Still, he isn't bad on land, for a Gomamon.
Kudamon     Kudamon just stares at Gomamon. He doesn't seem particularly offput by the baby seal's antics, and yet he seems to remain ever-patient. It /is/ another Digimon, after all. And then the holy beast Digimon frowns.

"By for--?!" SMACK. He's struck by the fishes directly. This does not make him happy. He smells like fish now. And that Digimon assaulted him! He's really aghast at the affront to his honor and his wellbeing.
And that another Digimon is trying to beat him up. He's starting to really dislike whoever is responsible for rallying this misguided souls like this.
Tiredly and a bit defeated, he says, "I would have preferred the nonviolent route, but if you insist:"

    "BULLET WHIRLWIND!"

He balls up and then begins to rotate rapidly, and then unfurls, the bullet casing at the end of his tail flicking out like the end of a flail aimed at the poor Gomamon's middle, trying to bat him into the water with a bit of violence. /Into/ his main way of attacking... for some reason.

Normally it takes more to get him to fight, but he's been prodded and scrutinized and called a wet blanket, and he's more a little frustrated with the Multiverse now.
Dr. Violet Hunter      As the bullet strikes, Gomamon moves out of the way. He can't manuever well, and Kudamon aims well, so the bullet still grazes along him a bit. But, Gomamon is still on the ground, where he is at a disadvantage!

"Ha, you think a cheap bullet attack can beat me? Let's fight like /MEN!/"

Gomamon sure knows how to talk, at least. He starts to flop forward, until he tries to leap and tackle at Kudamon. The tackle is... /incredibly/ clumsy. It's a water based Digimon attacking on land, though. Of course he'll be clumsy.

"HA! Yeah, take that! Violet's gonna be in charge of this place in /no time/."
Kudamon     The most it really does is pin Kudamon to the ground awkwardly. He stares out from under the weight of the other Digimon, wondering if this is a legitimate threat or if it's just a waste of both of their times. It's quite a silly and even cute display.

And then he coils around Gomamon, frowning somewhat at the energetic seal pup.

"Violet's way is the way of violence and darkness. She will lead her world into a state of chaos and the Digital World will be the worse for it. You, Gomamon, are terribly naive," he tells the water digimon, in that calm and serene voice. Then his earring shimmers, and a bright pulse of light shines directly at Gomamon's face. Holy light.
    "BLINDING RAY!"

Accompanied by, oddly enough, a crackle of yellow electricity across his body.
Dr. Violet Hunter      "More like terribly /awesome/."

This Gomamon, yes, is pretty young and naive. But, it does in fact believe in Violet's cause, so it is going to be fairly hard to convince otherwise. Sadly his skill doesn't match his confidence, because he is coiled around rather easily. The bright light shines at him, and he winces, especially as he is electricuted.

     "GAAH MARCHING FISHES HELP ME!"

And, one after another, a number of fish are bursting out of the water. They are all aiming towards Kudamon's head, trying to smack into it fairly hard. Or as hard as 'slapping something with a fish' can go, at least. The fish somewhat sparkle in the light, each one of them a different bright color.
Kudamon     Kudamon is a Child-Level. He is not, however, a child. He is very much not enthused by the behavior of this Gomamon, who just refuses to listen to him at all. The tubefox, still unhappy with how this is going, barely has time to try to avoid the second barrage of fish. Fish that slap into his head repeatedly once more. SLAPSLAPSLAP--
He smacks one away with a paw, making this 'UGH WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE FISH' face.

"You're fighting for someone who is /okay/ with fighting on the side of people who are openly self-proclaimed tyrants. You are fighting for someone who decided 'if I can't convince them peacefully, I'll just beat sense into them!'" he tries, waving his paws at the Gomamon in his attempt to convince the seal pup of the error of his ways. "She's hurting people."

His ears droop. He doesn't /want/ to fight this Gomamon. It hurts, emotionally, every time he sees pain on the poor Digimon's face at all. He hesitates, uncertain how to handle this now.
Dr. Violet Hunter      Gomamon just frowns a little bit. Kudamon is... standing down? Well. At least for now. Gomamon remains calm, just for a moment as well.

"...Hey, she /tried/ to get the other humans to understand first. But they didn't. And they aren't the only ones in danger! We still don't know what that place really /is/, but the Dark Ocean is closer to the Digital World than the real. What choice do we have?"

Gomamon frowns a bit, "Sometimes, even, well... When the Dark Ocean attacks? Sometimes Digimon /don't leave an egg behind/."

Gomamon knows that Kudamon is from a different world. Violet managed to put that much together. Hopefully, though, the meaning of those words wouldn't be lost on the Kudamon.

"And I'm not standing down! If you don't leave... I gotta take this place by force!"
Kudamon     "No egg..."

Kudamon's tail lashes, the idea of it striking deep into his heart. Images of Digimon being struck down flash into his head, and then the cries as those in his world not lucky enough to have the X-Antibody were struck down around him. He shakes his head.

Despite the powerful surge of emotion, he remains sturdy. He floats down and nears the ground. He looks at Gomamon right in the eyes, measuring his face, considering what he's about to say to the seal pup. It might be a little problematic.

"Humans don't have digieggs," he tells Gomamon, "They can't come back, whether or not a dark creature attacks them. They aren't even strong enough to fight most Digimon. You're helping her conquer a world not prepared for Digimon, and they aren't going to listen at all if they see us all as monsters that can't be reasoned with."
Dr. Violet Hunter      Gomamon remains frowning.

"We're not gonna try and kill humans if we can avoid it. But, even if some get caught in the crossfire, well... The others will find a way to get stronger. Violet says that if humans are forced to fight, they'll get stronger! Be more ready!"

Gomamon honestly doesn't get the psychology here. He's just parroting what Violet said.

But Gomamon is now under the impression that Kudamon won't stand down, most likely. plus he hates having to explain things!

And so, he leaps forward, claws out, simply trying to slash at Kudamon. Yeah, attacking right during a conversation is rude, but... He /has/ to win!
Kudamon     That's about right, but Kudamon doesn't like the future where humans are forced to fight Digimon just to get stronger. It'll breed distrust, hatred... it'll create a cycle that will last longer than anything the Dark Ocean can throw at them.
Kudamon can't really say that before he's got a Gomamon again leaping at him and trying to harm him, and raking claws across his form. A digital sparking occurs on contact, and his body shimmers in reaction to the pain, but he growls and reaches to grab the Gomamon with both forepaws. Fine, then. If that's how he wants to see it... he'll show Gomamon what it means to be in a war he didn't have to fight.

He actually lands for this, and tries to use the momentum of his own body and the Gomamon's attack to slam him right back into the ground! "YOU AREN'T LISTENING, EITHER!!" he bellows, desperately and lacking any sort of anger or hatred.
Dr. Violet Hunter      Kudamon is quite skilled. He manages to knock Gomamon back into the ground, causing him to hit hard. He tries to roll his body, to try and minimize damage. It doesn't do much, though. He rights himself, eventually. Frowning at Kudamon.

"Hey, if there was a better way, we would of taken it!"

Again, he tries to leap forward. His claw glimmers, this time. Yeah, time for another REAL ATTACK!

     "SHARP CLAW!"

...honestly, though, does slashing with a claw even warrant calling out your attack? Eh, whatever, he's doing it anyways.
Kudamon     ARGH! Those bloody claws hurt quite a lot, and Kudamon yelps when struck with them, retreating backwards away from the sting of the sharp blades digging into his digital flesh. He rights himself, and touches at the glowing claw marks, showing the digital matrix underneath just slightly.
Since he doesn't, you know, have /blood/.

Resolving to fight Gomamon until one of them is unconscious, he whips his body around and swings the Bullet Casing for the side of the seal pup's head. He's not bothering with words anymore, because it's really not working. Perhaps violence really /is/ the best solution for this particular Digimon? At the very least he needs to drive Gomamon away from the Target Zone.
Dr. Violet Hunter      The bullet casing strikes into the Gomamon's head. H ebraces, though still stumbles. He is /trying/ to stay close. He had this brilliant plan, to attack while close! But unfortunately he is not as tough as he thinks, and he ends up /crashing/ into one of the nearby walls.

He looks around. He lost track of the stream of water in all the fighting. Fortunately for him, though, he sees something /else/ he can use! A dragon made of water, kind of sleeping nearby.

     ...Close enough!

     "MARCHING FISHES!"

And, fish burst out. This time, they're trying to attack from all angles. Floating around in ways which are really impossible for a fish to fly.

     Marching Fishes is /weird/.
Kudamon     The fish batter Kudamon, but they don't seem to do quite the damage that a good claw swipe did. He shouts and smacks his paws at the fish, trying to evade by darting about through the air! But he can't quite avoid it, and gets a few nasty impacts for his trouble. He shakes some sense back into his head, and then concentrates on Gomamon, golden eyes fixated on the tiny seal creature.

Energy charges from the casing on the tip of his tail, that gold electricity, and accumulates in the red earring... then releases in a pulse of bright light and a concentrated beam of energy. "BLINDING RAY!"
Dr. Violet Hunter      The beam of energy strikes. There is now an obvious burn wound on Gomamon's body, due to the injury. Like Kudamon, Gomamon can't really bleed either, for the obvious 'made of data' reasons. But still, he seems to be getting into a fair amount of pain. His breathing is getting heavier.

He needs to finish this, fast... What can he do?

     An idea!

     "Hey look behind you!"

He then moves forward to try and headbutt Kudamon.
Kudamon     Kudamon does, in fact, look behind himself. Briefly. And then he turns his head right back around and--

    CLONK.

He makes the well-known '>.<' face, and floats backwards, his paws both on his nose. Ow! Anyone who has been struck in the nose understands the compounding sensation of sinus pressure and pain in the more vulnerable parts of a nose structure, which, despite being made of data, he does have. He shakes his head a few times, and then decides to do a tackle of his own, to show the Gomamon a trick or two.

He bolts up into the air, and flies in a wide arc, trying to do a shoulder tackle into the Gomamon! He aims for a nearby crumbling column, and even BITES Gomamon to try and ensure he does a lot of damage to the water-affined Digimon!
Dr. Violet Hunter      The bite and tackle surprise Gomamon. He impacts into the pillar, causing the pillar to crumble, landing atop of him a bit. With the debries and dust falling on him, he is rather beaten up.

But, Gomamon should still be close. Possibly still even biting into him. And so, he brings his claws up, trying to dig them into Kudamon, or at least grab ahold of him.

And then he tries to roll, bringing Kudamon with him. The goal? Basically, getting on top of Kudamon, and then slamming him hard into the ground.

Gomamon is at the point where he is going to ignore using words, at least for now. He's getting a bit annoyed and beaten up. He has to win this!
Kudamon     Now again with Gomamon pinning him down, Kudamon can only avoid the intense agony of getting struck with more slicing with those claws. He thrashes about and yelps from landing on the claw marks from before and the bruises, wincing from the sensation. His Digivice, reacting to his emotions, sparks and whines as if agonized by the fight alongside him.
"Can't you see she's manipulating all of you?"
And then he bites at Gomamon again, and rolls right back over, trying to coil around the land-bound seal digimon! He's got his own claws, but he can't really get in the right spot for any of his own attacks with them without being right up in Gomamon's grill like this. Like two cats, at this point, complete with ruffled fur, claws, and a dust cloud!
Dr. Violet Hunter      Gomamon gets fierce as he says this. Even as he is bitten at.

     "WE WANTED HER HELP FIRST!"

It's actually true. The Digimon were at a loss. Violet was at a loss. But, together, they created ideas on how to achieve their goal.

Gomamon keeps up the close quarters fight, trying to slowly bring Kudamon towards the water. Maybe he'll be able toget an advantage. Finally. Either way, at the least? He keeps rolling and smashing.

"Besides, if you have a better idea, what would it be?!"
Kudamon     Kudamon knows all about the strengths of a Gomamon. He's just thankful he's not fighting Gomamon's most common digivolution, or he'd be in a lot more pain right now! He huffs and growls and pushes at Gomamon, wrestling for control over the grappling situation. And when he gets purchase against the ground, he tries something a little unorthodox.
He doesn't have an answer for Gomamon. He doesn't know. But he does know how to fight. He's done it a depressingly frequent amount of times. He's been roughed up by a fair share of darker digimon of this level of strength.
He winds up as if he's going to use Bullet Whirlwind, but instead of striking Gomamon, he's aiming to try and /pulverize/ the seal pup against the ground, using the momentum to try and whip him up into the air and back down into the rocky floor below, grasping with that long tail and replacing the shell casing's weight with the tiny digimon's. He aims to get Gomamon a little further away from the water source, too, to retain his advantage.
"You keep trying to talk to them until someone listens!" he replies, his voice only louder because of the effort of his attack. He knows that's a flimsy and frustrating plan, and he understands why Violet would get to the end of her rope. "You demonstrate in ways that don't endanger everyone!" There we go. "Show them your power by helping them with their problems!" And he's on a roll.
"Hurting them, breaking their weapons, making them hate you, all of that will just cause a war against you."
Dr. Violet Hunter      Gomamon is sent flying, out of the path of the water. He himself, being used as the bullet... That honestly took him completely by surprise. HHe is not anywhere near the water anymore. Instead, he is about as far away as could be possibly be from it.

It'll be hard for him to do too much more damage.

"Bah! Sometimes, talking doesn't work! Or else maybe /you'd/ be listening a bit!"

Gomamon attempts to tackle a pillar. This time, on purpose! He's trying to knock it over, into Kudamon.
Kudamon     "I /am/ listening! You insist on fighting and trying to conquer a zone that isn't under your control, for a war you don't even understand!"
That is what got under his skin. Kudamon understood exactly what was happening, and it was a moment of walking in someone else's shoes. He really doesn't have much of a choice, here! Of course, now he's distracted and not paying attention enough to his opponent. Talking sometimes works really well in a fight.
The pillar crashes right down on top of him with a loud "AHH!!" of surprise! He barely manages to avoid getting crushed like a bug beneath the weight of the stone structure. His body retreated into the 'Holy Vessel,' the bullet casing that caps his tail. But it dents the casing! He pops back out of it, and looks bruised and scratched up, shuddering from the feeling of what may be a cracked bone!
Once he's out, though, he charges up more holy energy, until the earring looks bright white! And then projects it as a huge shockwave of white-gold electricity and white energy! "BLINDIIIING! RAY!"
Dr. Violet Hunter      The shockwave strikes. The landscape is even torn apart, somewhat by the size of the blast. Some of the ground is broken apart, and part of the Rookery now has a hole in it. Gomamon is laying there. Barely able to move. He's pondering, though What to do. What to do...

"Bah... I... I have to win!"

And so he shouts, as loud as he can.

     "MARCHING FISHES!"

Fishes burst up, from the water. It is too much to count. Far too many. There are so many, that the light isn't even fully coming down right now. Kudamon will have to fight, in the shade, it seems.

It's like a hideous rainbow of glorious fishy death.
Kudamon     Kudamon looks up at a tidal wave of fish. It rains down on him, and forces him to the ground! He cries out in pain as fish slam into him by the hundreds, the last desperate strike of a Gomamon on his last legs. He coils up into a tight ball to protect himself, and grrrowls, snapping undone all at once as a whirling motion that propels little fish manifestations in all directions.
And then he snaps his whole body around, and the bullet casing right for Gomamon once again, but it's coming from above! The explosion of colorful fish is interspersed with white sparks and beams of light, and the bullet casing lets out a loud CHIME on impact, whether it hits hard or not, or even if it misses!
"BULLET WHIRLWIIIIND!!"
Dr. Violet Hunter      Gomamon pauses and breathes a bit, waiting for his own attack to finish. That /has/ to do it, right? Like, that many fish has to do something. That's a lot of fish!

But, as the tide clears, and as Gomamon is left tired and exhausted? Kudamon's aim holds true. The bullet comes in, the massive beam of white hits. And Gomamon is basically /exploded/ at.

And Gomamon lays their. Unconcious, in a crater. He still lives, obviously. Otherwise he'd of faded away. But, it's up to Kudamon what to do with him now, whether it is taking him as a prisoner, executing him, or simply dumping him somewhere in Confederate territory.
Kudamon     Kudamon floats over to Gomamon, wheezing and coughing... He stares down at the Gomamon, who had been drawn in by the energy of the other Digimon and the desperation of facing a dark foe without knowing any way to fight it. He reaches down to touch the top of Gomamon's head with one paw.

He picks the Gomamon up, cradling him, and then tries to float off, calling a Union transport to take both of them to a medical facility. He's going to need to keep Gomamon locked up for a while. It's not the best way to handle it, but he's not sure if it's a great idea to leave a failed soldier from the enemy to the mercy of whatever dark digimon might make up Violet's army. He's seen too much to be comfortable with that.
Dr. Violet Hunter      Violet, meanwhile, is going to be throwing a fit back at her base, over one of her eager young cadets getting captured. He had so much potential! so kind and believing in the cause! Who knows what terrible things the Union might do to him, to get him to talk! She probably wouldn't blame him if he does talk, though.
