Gaius Van Baelsar For those who arrive to Garlemald either by nearest Warp Gate which is a touch of a hike (unless you got a ride) or by air, it is easy to see the Capital City. For the Capital City of Garlemald was burning with blue and red fire. Ceruleum Plants were exploding under the assault of dragons that fly through the sky and on ground-- it is little better.

The metal airships try to defend against the dragons, but they dance around the larger ships. Moving between the automated gunfire, though a few missiles do claim them. Juggernaughts; Long pole flying machines; move about to keep up with the dragons, taking shots when they can, but they are far off worse to wear then the airships. Even a few actual fighters move about the skies, trying to defend the airs, but the natural fliers are proving to be a great problem as they swoop around the tall buildings.

On the ground its even more chaotic. Ground drakes roar though the cities, tearing into people who can't defend themselves. There is even a mix of Garlean troops. Some with their white armor and blue facing off against other Garlean Troops of different legions. Though not all of those white armor individuals are the enemy, but most are.

The outer walls have fall in locations, automated defenses destroyed, even with their drones in play. The tall Vanguards racing across the streets in defense, they can not hold forever against the onslaught. People cry, buildings burn and crumble down with glass shards flying everywhere. It was chaos.

Different Legatus could also be made out from the troops. Doing their best to defend the people, to defend their homeland. One even manages to rip down a dragon's wing before spinning around and cutting off its head. Yet even with a few victories, it was still a mess and Gaius Van Baelsar was no where in sight.

At least not yet...

Though his airship was, the large beast of a machine standing her own in almost repeated history for the XIV Legion. They were perhaps having just as much trouble, from time to time though a flicker of light could be seen dancing across her hull as the magitek shield held up against the fireballs.

It was the only sign he was in fact somewhere, but by the sounds on comm. He wasn't up there, he was somewhere in the mess. Just where?

Garen     Garen heard the call and the agent wasn't merely going to sit by. Rather, he grabbed up the biggest rifle he could get his hands on, and suited up for war. Of course, this meant PLENTY of grenades and other imperial toys and tricks. As his ship emerged from the warp gate, he would pick up both Sanary and Yari. Once they were aboard, the Phantom lived up to it's name by becoming a ghost, it's stealth field activated. With any luck, this would let them get right over the city. "Right.....the Phantom should be able to pick up radio chatter from our side, and if we're lucky, the enemy." He instructs, letting the two passengers make their moves first.
Yari Takane Chaos reigns. The very seat of the Empire is burning. Dragons and traitors defile the most precious place, tearing at honor. Yari has been far more quiet than usual, barely speaking a word. She's been like this out in the field for a good week now. Naked anger lurks in her eyes, and she can't stop trembling.

Worst still, her eyes are puffy and red from yet another breakdown she had earlier. Sanary might have been there.

Still silently, she walks to the end of the ship, and pulls out her gun. With so much chaos she doesn't bother with subtlety. She finds one of the dragons near the ship, and starts unloading round after round into it. She doesn't stop until it stops, teeth gritted.

"DIE! DIE YOU DISGUSTING WINGED FREAK! GET OUT OF MY HOME!" Screams the ninja, finally letting loose with all of the anger she's been holding in.
Sanary Rondel      It was only a matter of time until things blew up again. Although Sanary didn't know when it would happen, just knowing that it would made it easier to keep herself ready for when it did. After what Yari had told her, it wasn't much of a surprise that things /were/ going to explode sooner rather than later.

It doesn't take her long to get herself outfitted in preparation for today's mission. Heavy green armor, her trusty gunaxe and shield at her sides, and an odd looking bladed-contraption strapped to her back. Of course, they're still on a flying machine, and the axe cleric's laughing excessively as she usually does in airships. "Good, good! If anything comes in, we can get the drop on 'em and... We'll figure it out from there!" She peers out a window for a few moments at all the chaos unfolding over and in the city before scooting away from it hastily.

"You know what I'm just gonna go you know in case a stray shot comes this way BYE." Stepping over to Yari, she gives the Au Ra a quick salute before promptly diving out of Garen's ship at the nearest dragon. As she falls, she tears the bladed contraption off her back, forming it into a massive axe that is literally taller than she is. Uttering a crazed shout as she swings it down in her descent, she's aiming to drive it right into the scaled beast's flesh.

Also, to slow her fall. She probably should have brought a parachute.
Guest Vivio     People are in danger! And it's the weekend! So thankfully, Vivio can help~

Having arrived by warpgate, Vivio is currently streaking through the air, irridescent light surrounding and trailing behind her. Already in her adult form with her Barrier Jacket activated, Vivio has to get to the city in the distance quickly! She looks ahead, saying, "There it is..." She pauses for a moment then continues, "Yes, I know I'm going fast. Have to get there fast!" Another pause, "No, I haven't thought about landing... I'll figure that out when we get there!"

The streak of light that is Vivio passes into the city's airspace. She glances around at the sights: Dragons, soldiers, airships, people... Vivio isn't sure what's going on, but people are clearly in danger! But where should she help?

Vivio's eyes catch sight of one of the land dragons going after a group of fleeing people, probably civilians. She has to stop it! She gets an idea... But... "This is going to hurt..."

The streak of light curves over, quickly heading straight down towards the ground, on a direct course for the drake. It doesn't slow, it just slams right into the creature with a big blast of air and debris.

As the dust from the impact settles, Vivio crawls out of the crater, a little roughed up but otherwise not hurt. She holds her head a little as she says, "That was probably a bad idea... Still..." She turns to check that the people were safe and the drake was subdued.
Mantigora By the sounds of things, by air is the best and most expediant way to go about getting to the capital quickly. That it was full of enemies? Well that's why the oblong, almost retro-futuristic looking spaceship descending towards the city is sporting a pair of large swivel-turret cannons on it, and several missile batteries farther along it's frame.

Not to mention that it was divebombing straight into the aerial battle with said cannons blazing, filling the sky with it's firepower. The best answer to quick mobile targets is usually area saturation, giving the enemy no easy room to -be- mobile.

The ship is avoiding firing towards the other airships. But one can just imagine Skuzzler is laughing off his fuzzy little head as he rains out destruction all the same. Just because that's how Chua do it. Most of the reason they are violent destructive little mad scientists is because it is FUN.

But where is Mantigora, if the ship is just arriving? No sign of her chuting from it, as epic as an airdrop into a raging battle would be.

The simple answer is that the Draken is -already here- since she's been working for the Legatus on other matters as well. Just that thanks to that cloaking technology, she's unseen. Right up until she jumps off a rooftop to land on one of the dragons harassing the civilians trying to flee the chaos, thrusting both of her armblades with impaling force at the beast's shoulders.

"The only blood that shall be spilling these streets is your own!"
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk was having second, third, fourth and fifth thoughts about hitching a ride with Skuzzler to the area. She's pressed back into the passenger chair of the gunship, clinging on for dear life. "Skuzzler, after this pass, bring us around further into the city to drop me off. I will provide support from the ground." she calls over the chattering of the cannons.
Valentha Summers     The Dravanian assault, relentless and cruel, is intolerable to Valenthanixa. An attack on military assets is one thing. Laying waste to civilian holdings quite another. After flying around invisibly in human form for about twenty seconds, she makes her decision.

The young woman lands near a builder, disrobes, and BURIES all of her gear and belongings. A leap away from it later, she transforms. In a matter of seconds there's nothing left of the female frame. And of course, she's no longer invisible either.

A new dragon's on the battlefield. A titanic beast that, even while walking on all fours, is ten times higher than the slimmest miqo'te or human, NOT counting the enormous majestic wings. A great western dragon with scaley skin the exact hue of purest gold. Bony spikes line its back and wing bones, all the way down to the tail. From head to tail. One clawed limb could easily close around a man on horseback or a modern car and crush it!

But that's not what this dragon DOES. Instead she deeply inhales... and bellows out a bone-chilling, magically-amplified deafening roar. Raw magical power flows freely from her skin, an aura of gold filled with crackles of blueish fire.

With a slap of her tail she's off and airborne, wings flapping loud and hard. But for all that size...

She's still a WHIRLING dervish. As though employing some form of martial arts, Valenthanixa spins her body about excellently in the air to use her tail as a whip, biting and slashing and roaring defiantly at the draconic hordes.

After plowing through some to sow confusion, she spins about in the air to face pursuers, SOMEHOW still aloft despite the weird angle... purses her 'lips' to an 'o', and exhales.

A thick, focused plume of harshest dragonfire, sufficient to turn dirt, stone, and cement to glass and flesh to ash in seconds, erupts, shaped specifically into a tight 'beam' that goes much further than the typical cone, before it diffuses into the air and peters out.
Gaius Van Baelsar Garen will find the approach in a tricky one, there is guns blazing, missiles exploding, and even a few dragons falling from the sky-- if not juggernaut pieces! It is a war zone all right and he may notice a few ships up there are actually chasing other airships! Making it difficult to tell who is the enemy-- and who isn't.

Yari's shots aim true at the dragon who goes flying by and it screeches in pain, before whipping around to locate her and then blasting a heavy flame for her and those near by her; Or it would have if not Sanary air tackling it, slamming the blade into its wings and using it as a means of ground fall! The Dragon goes crashing into the ground, killed by the impact and Sanary would find herself being shot at by several Imperial troops-- those are hopefully not the guys they are here to defend!

Though given their color is chrome and blue, one can hope they are the bad guys!

Vivio drops down from the sky like a rocket, as she may as well be as Skuzzler streaks around barraging dragons with some superior firepower! Vivio does hit her mark and actually crushes one of the dragons under her heavy landing. The People stand in shock, but one of them yells out, "Look out!" As one of the ground Drakes leaps for her. The beast is probably ten feet tall on all fours and its maw wide open to chomp down on her with rows of jagged teeth!

Skuzzler pulls around he may find on his HUD devices he is being followed by two enemies. Both which are Garlean Fighters and they both open up on him. Though he does get streaked by another fighter, that seems to force one off of him, but there is still one to deal with! Poor Mihk is probably gonna get shaken around a bit in there with him!

However, Vivio's attacker is interrupted, as Mantigora slams into it and brings the beast down short in front of the other woman. If these two have never met, now they will have the chance. Perhaps after they deal with a dragon that swoops down and lands on the street. This one towering around fifteen to almost twenty feet up and goes to roar at them both, before getting ready to inhale and breath out fire in their direction.

Thankfully the Civilians are already running!

When Valenthanix let out her roar, it was heard. It was heard very clearly. Several of the aerial drakes resting on roofs roar in return. In their own means of defiance, before they go to take flight to meet the larger golden dragon. While they may be twenty feet on all fours with a forty foot wingspan, they may in fact be golfed by the larger golden dragon, but they did not care.

They would meet her dead on and they would go in with fire, claws, and fangs!
Yari Takane And then Sanary /LEAPS OUT OF THE SHIP/. Without a parachute.

It breaks her out of her rage, into pure concern. She grabs an extra parachute, straps on hers, then leaps out towards that very same dragon!

Her tail starts tossing poisoned kunai at the great creature, careful to not hit Sanary! She'll try to land as well, hoping to get that parachute to the other woman!

"YOU FORGOT SOMETHING!" She calls out while falling!

Somewhere amidst all this, a magical girl zooms in and impacts the ground, and there's a massive dragon...destroying other dragons and the enemy soldiers!? Yari's mind marks it down, then shoves the confusion aside. She has too much else to focus on. Like not immediately dieing and trying to mid-air dodge bullets alongside Sanary! Eventually, she'll use the parachute. Despite the rapidly appearing holes in it, she'll manage to make a (very rough) landing.
Garen     Garen watches as the other two leap from his ship in an impressive display. "hmm...." he thinks to himself. He quickly moves and engages his ship's auto-pilot. He then walks over and when the next dragon passes, leaps out in an attempt to land on said dragon. Of course, he also chucks some grenades at it's wings and readies his grappling hook. He aimed to have the dragon crash onto the ground, and then grapple onto a nearby building to safety.
Mantigora "Can get close." Skuzzler pauses a moment to yank on the controls, tilting the ship erratically to one side so the return fire scrapes across the side of the gunship without hitting anything too important. It does clip off one of the stabilizer fins... but one gets the impression that the only reason the Chua build the ship with such a detail was to make it look properly like a space ship, because it's only had a minor effect on the ship. "But stopping Bad Idea in middle of invasion." He kicks one of the controls with his foot to keep his paws on the controls, and a burst of missile fire streaks out at the other fighter following them as he pushes the craft down towards the city streets.

"Close is all we need, pilot," a voice with an accent not unlike an upperclass British noble replies from behind Mihk. The armored male hands her a small device. "You'll want this ma'am. The grav-force bubble can absorb the landing." A few other of the heavily clad soldiers have been giving Mihk odd looks, if only because she's kind of similar to the catpeople they're use to seeing as enemies.

Sure enough as soon as the ship gets in low and opens the hatch, the soldiers all activate their own bubbles and jump out, barely breaking stride as they hit the ground and charge directly into the fray. "IN THE NAME OF THE EMPEROR AND THE ALLIES OF THE DOMINION, LEAVE NONE OF THESE WRETCHED STANDING!" Those use to seeing Mantigora would find the male Draken Warriors leading the charge to be -really- different, built more like dragon-men gorrilas screaming feral warcries as they swing their equally massive fusion-powered broadswords. Most of the human-like Cassian soldiers are providing coverfire with dual magi-pistols, but there's at least one robotic Mechari with her launcher and robots serving as mobile artillery against the dragons.

Looks like the bounty hunter pulled in some favors from her old military days. And maybe because the Dominion loves a chance to prove why they're a worthwile alliance, to both the Garleans and the Confederacy.

Things are getting a little hot for said bounty hunter, even as she leaps off her first victim and dives out of the way the flames lick and crackle against her personal shielding. She comes up in a crouch, and flings several of her armor piercing nano-blades at the attacking dragon, hissing something over her comm as she does so.
Sanary Rondel      The good news: The dragon's down, and Sanary's not dead between having that extra mass of flesh to cushion her fall along with Yari's sudden arrival with the parachute.

The bad news: Now they're getting shot at. By Imperial soldiers, no less! Yanking the switchaxe out of the fallen dragon's hide, the healer winces painfully as moves herself between them and Yari to take the hits in the Au Ra's stead, the bullets impacting against her armor and a few even graze some of the exposed joints. Thankfully, the armor's sturdy enough to withstand that sort of damage without flat-out breaking under the pressure, and she's got her healing energy flowing within her to heal what gets past it, but it still sucks to get shot.

"H-hey! We're on your side!" Right? But there was mention of traitors, so maybe not. Opting to just drop the switchaxe for now, she brings up the shield and gunaxe to keep herself and Yari covered with the former while firing quick bursts of flame at the offending troops.
Guest Vivio     Oh good, those people are still safe and the drake is down! Phew. Vivio gets to her feet, brushing off little bits of debris. It's the warning from the civilian that gets Vivio to spin around and find the second drake about to chomp her! Vivio raises her hands in preparation to block.

But it seems she won't have to! Vivio blinks as something hits the drake and it slumps, skidding to a stop barely inches from her. Vivio pokes the large reptilian's snout experimentally, before stands on her toes to look at the equally reptilian looking person on top of it, to whom she says cheerfully, "Thanks!"

Vivio stumbles a little as the larger dragon lands on the ground nearby. Regaining her footing, she holds her hair as the large dragon roars. As the loud sound begins to pass, Vivio turns to face the creature, shifting into an attack stance.

Flames bellow out from the large creature, heading straight towards Vivio. With a burst of speed, the magical girl jumps into the air, soaring over the fire and towards the creature's head. Irridescent light begins to gather around Vivio's right hand as she calls out, "Accel..." She swings as she reaches the large head, "Smash!" There's a burst of energy if/when the fist connects, a blow strong enough to send even a large dragon like this reeling!
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk nods to the soldier, fitting the item and following them out. She takes a breath as she steps out of the low-flying ship, and landing primly. She takes a moment to take stock of the situation, turning a page in her tome and pulling a quill from some fold of her robes. "I call upon the Earth," she begins, writing in glowing ink an inch above the pages, then lays a red crystal with a yellow core on the center of the pages. "I offer a vessel for thy power. Fill it to the brim and by this Contract be bound to my will." Aether flows from the ground and buildings nearby, pouring into the gemstone. "I summon thee. Carbuncle!"

A period point is spotted to the contract, and with a deft flick, Mihk's hand discards the quill, and tosses the gemstone forwards, where it becomes engulfed in golden light, forming the distinctive shape of the Carbuncle. "Guard me!" commands the Miqo'te as the summon turns and bounds back over to her, clambering up to sit on her shoulder and chirp affirmative. The catgirl ponders a moment, then flicks on her radio. "Where can I do the most good? My spellwork is less directly damaging and more suited to disrupting formations."
Valentha Summers     "Hrmph. SAVAGES! You DARE call yourselves dragons? Pillagers, scoundrels, and beasts. The city is BURNING!"

Although claws and fangs bite into her, drawing blood, the pierced flesh is already healing with fangs still embedded. FIRE is less effective against her than it perhaps should be. Aside from closing her eyes she does little to evade fire. It slams against her, but seems to be doing very little. Her hide is barely scorched.

But she's still on the move, roaring in fury and cursing in elvenese. Her foreclaws and tail rip and shred into bellies, necks, and wings whenever exposed!

But oh, are there any BIGGER than twenty feet around here?
Gaius Van Baelsar Garen leaps out of his ship after a dragon and when he does so, he'll find the beast is tricky to hold on. The Dragon goes to roll itself and even as the grenade goes off, it only shocks the creature, but the second one does blast it back, allowing it to crash into the ground.

Though the beast doesn't stay down and rights itself. Snarling from its ground placement before leaping up and coming right back at Garen with flames bursting right for him!

The troops land and they get into combat against soldier and dragon alike. This get crazy over in that area, as the two forces of technology, along with fantasy, clash in an epic proportion really of explosions, flames, and blades.

Yari and Sanary's landing was rough and put them in a hotspot. Thankfully Sanary's weapon takes a few down, forcing some others to take shelter, but they continue to open fire. Then there was a beep from one, before a device was thrown over the barrier these soldiers were using.

Yari would know what it was with that glowing red light and that beep. She know it was a Ceruleum grenade! Which meant get for cover themselves!

As Mantigora takes cover the dragon gets ready for another breath of fire as it steps in, thankfully Vivio has the answer to this and smashes her fist right into the dragon. It screeches in pain as the flames rush out to the side, though with a growl, its eyes narrow then it goes to chomp down on Vivio herself!

As Mhik tries to figure where to go from here, a woman races up to her, "Help me!" She says, "My child..." She motions to a build on fire, including a dragon that is trying to tear into it. A child could be heard screaming inside...

The Dravanians have their hands full with Val and they do their best, even though she makes a mess out of them. Soon she may find some real trouble as several missiles fly her way from enemy airship fighters!
Yari Takane There's something calming about being with Sanary, fighting alongside her. Anger and fury are still etched into her features. But she can think, not bothering to attack blindly. She can act, because she knows if she doesn't, Sanary and the civilians will be in even more danger.

And so she uses her friend as a shield, at least until she hears that familiar beeping.

A few hand seals, and then Yari's eyes and face bulge as blood pumps faster, aether filling her body. With utterly inhuman reflexes, she grabs Sanary, and then she's leaping away as the grenade goes off to put them behind a bit of ruined wall.

"DOWN!"
Garen     Garen grins and swings onto a rooftop, only to find himself turned on. "Sith spit..." He mutters. He QUICKLY moves to get out of range, and chuck a few more grenades at the dragon. Likewise, he opens up with his blaster pistols like some sort of action movie hero. But he takes a moment and hurls a belt of mixed explosive and flash grenades towards the Centurion.
Mihk Lihzeh     Mihk nods and begins incanting as she flips through the pages of her tome. Then a woman comes running up to her. Heterochromic eyes turn to the building and the dragon tearing into it, and sensitive ears twitch as the sound of a child screaming catches them.

Mihk's free hand touches the womans shoulder. "Get to the shelter... I shall bring your child back to you." she says, then strides over towards the drake. "HOLD THY WRATH YOU CUR. COME AND FACE THE TRUE POWER OF AN ARCANIST." she cries in challenge, Arcane Geometry forming in the air around her, under her feet and in the open air at her sides. "YOU SHALL TASTE ONLY DEFEAT THIS DAY!"

Aether flows freely through the Miqo'te's body, tinting the Geometries different colours as she pours the power out into them. "Air and Lightning. Earth and Fire. Water and Ice. Aether and Void. She holds out her book, pages open to one more Geometry. "Life. And Death." The Aether flows into this Geometry, and after a baited moment, surges out in a tight beam of colourless light. It isn't white, and it isn't any other colour either, it's a lack of colour, and seems to absorb colour around it. She's aiming for the Drake, trying to at least force it away, if not kill it outright.
Sanary Rondel      Grinning slightly as the shots hit their mark, Sanary's definitely not feeling all too bad about today. Sure, there's a battle going on, and maybe people's lives are getting ruined by the... EVERYTHING happening. And things aren't really looking good for the city, especially if the fighting goes on for much longer.

On the bright side, though? Her aim's getting better.

Taking a few more hits against her shield and her armor, Sanary fires off a few more shots of her own before glancing towards that telltale beeping coming from not too far away. Even if she's not quite versed in exactly how grenades work, she knows enough to not be near the beeping thing with the red blinking light.

With Yari's burst of energy getting them both off the ground and away from the explosive, the cleric's able to focus her efforts on directing some of her restorative magic into Yari. Mending wounds, restoring energy, all that good stuff packed into one sickly green light ball! Hearing Garen's voice coming over the radio, however, her attention is drawn towards the direction of his voice just in time for her to catch the thrown belt with her face.

Perhaps not her proudest moment, bit better that than having their enemies catch it, at least.
Guest Vivio     Vivio has fought dragons, or a dragon specifically, a few times. Still, it's always a strange feeling to knock such a large creature around like this!

Vivio lands on the ground again, preparing herself from the inevitable attack since it looks like the creature is still combat capable. And sure enough, the dragon's large head darts in towards her, mouth open to chomp on her. Vivio's hands dart out, one to meet each jaw. A fang finds her arm, cutting through her Barrier Jacket and into her arm beneath. Vivio's defensive magics are all that keep the wound from being too serious. But at the sacrifice of getting cut, Vivio finds the grip she was looking for.

Holding each jaw, Vivio struggles to keep the large reptile's mouth open, stopping any chomping and also creating an opening of attack. Turning her head to the other fighter nearby, Vivio calls to Mantigora, "Quick! Now!" The girl's arms shake a little as she struggles against the strength of the much larger creature.
Mantigora Mantigora looks up from getting things organized more over the comms as Vivio shouts at her, watching as she puts herself at extreme danger in order to give them an opening. As in an open mouth. Always a weak point when one knows how to use it. Instantly her tactical hardware pops a course of action into her head, and Mantigora retracts the blades of one arm as she aims for the open maw, and fires several of her Nano Darts into it.

Even as she gives the mental command to fire her nanotech is adjusting the viral darts based on previous encounters with the dravarian forces, keying them specifically to attack and tear apart the reserves of energy within the dragon. A nanoviral toxic to literally eat it from the inside out.

The Cassian officer shouts a few more orders to the other Dominion soldiers engaging the enemies, then turns his attention to the paniced woman crying for help from Mihk. "Don't worry ma'am. Your child shall be saved from these Light damned currs." Motions one of his other troops over. "See this woman and any others you find to the shelters. The Huntress" meaning Mantigora, "has provided directions over tac-net." Then turns his attention back to the burning building with a scowl.

The Dominion may be a conquering space empire, but it was one that at least gave a shit, most of the time, about those of lesser stature in civilians. What is an empire without the people you rule over and protect, after all?

Mihk outright blasts the offending dragon to get it away from the building, and impressively so. Mantigora mentioned magic was more prevaliant in some aspects here, but that was still rather intense. But a good soldier does not allow himself to be distracted. With the dragon being blow away he charges the front of the building, activating his Ripshield from one gauntlet and using it to shield himself from the flames. "Child! If you can hear me, get down to the ground, below the smoke! We will find you shortly!"
Valentha Summers     With MISSILES flying at her, Val reacts instantly. Another deep inhale, followed by a scorching plume of focused dragonfire. Her head tilts slightly, strafing the beam across the paths of both missiles. The superheated projectiles detonate prematurely, showering Val with scorching debris and shrapnel. Her wing leather's torn, dozens of large holes are torn in her hide, but she seems to take this in stride.

Still airborne, the great dragon chants words of power, a truly prodigious quantity of magical energy gathered around her fingertips and dancing through the air. It disperses in seconds, then the results of spell make themselves known.

HUGE lightning bolts streak towards the fighters! A half-dozen more fly towards ground-pounding lizards!
Gaius Van Baelsar Garen swings away from the blast and as he throws the grenades. The Dragon moves quickly to not get caught in the explosion. The dragon climbs up the sound of the building, before charging at him again, only to pull short, swoop down and then breath fire in his direction.

Mihk's spells races towards the drake, which it screeches in protest, before he leaps away and snarls at her. Its teeth snap in Mihk's direction before it snarls at her in Dravanian draconic words. <"Foolish one. You can not save them all! None can same them all!"> He can only watch the woman run as the soldiers stand there.

The Drake screeches and goes to charge forward only to be blasted back by a white Magitek armor. A woman's voice calls out from it. "Get to the child!" She then fires off a few more shots and then motions to the extra soldiers, "And the rest of you, head north! They need back up!"

Yari and Sanary have their hands full with the soldiers, including as Garen has to play keep away from a dragon that doesn't get the message. The two young soldiers find some of the traitor garleans moving on them, shooting and firing.

They get ready to throw another grenade and then a dark form appears with a flash of blue in front of them. As the Grenade comes in, a swing of a blade smacks it right back and it explodes sending a few bodies flying. Who was this mysterious form? Gaius Van Baelsar.

The Legatus looks at Yari and Sanary, "You two alright?" He then watches the dragon above, before he looks back at them, "I need you both to come with me."

Val takes down a few fighters from above, which explodes high in the skies, even as more dragons and fighters come after the far larger golden dragon. Its a light show up there above Vivio and Mantigora. Those two also manage to successful tangle with their dragon, bringing the creature down with some team work. Though as another one comes around a massive red hammers slams down ontop of its head, before several shots are fired off at another from a draconic red armor Garlean. "Mantigora," He addresses her directly, "Lord Van Baelsar asks for your presence. Your friend there best go as well. It deals with the palace. Go to him, I have this location here."
Yari Takane Sanary's safe! And even catches the grenades. With her face. Yari finds the time to facepalm a little.

"...When we get out of this, we are working on your catching skills." Pause.

"We'll be using live grenades." Welcome to Elite Level Training, Sanary Rondel.

She still yoinks a few grenades, then hands some to Sanary.

"Thanks Mister Nine!" She calls out to Garen. And then she's tossing them like nobody's business, expertly lobbing grenades with both hand and tail. There's going to be a /lot/ less entrenched Dravanians soon.

And then the Legatus rushes in to save the day, likely turning just in time to not look at the explosion.

"Lord van Baelsar!" She's a little breathless here. /Damn/ that was cool.

Ahem! She throws a sharp salute.

Then she's offering a hand to Sanary.

"Come on, Sanary, we have work to do. After you, Lord van Baelsar."
Garen     Garen grows as the dragon turned around and seemed to not get the message. "Damn you, just die." He says. He swaps over to his big gun, AKA a 'borrowed' High caliber rifle. He takes aim at the wings and fires, and if able, takes a third one for it's head.
Sanary Rondel      "W-well, I caught 'em, right? That's halfway there already."

Biting back a chuckle, Sanary deflects another burst of gunfire with her shield while keeping Yari covered behind her. The offering of grenades is taken with a confused grunt at first, although there's a bit of a muffled chuckle welling up as she gets a better look at the destruction the Au Ra's causing with those things.

It's not until Gaius arrives that she finally lowers the shield a bit, a broad laugh escaping the healer as mimics the Au Ra's salute. "Yeah, we're good. Probably could take on a lot more, but we'll let you have some, too." Cheeky tonight, isn't she?

At least she's not throwing those grenades (yet). Slipping the grenades into her armor's inner containers, she slips the gunaxe back onto her belt before grasping the Centurion's hand firmly.

     "Lead the way, sir."
Mantigora Mantigora turns her head for a moment as she hears her name. Thankfully the armored soldier is quick and to the point. She nods in return. "Just keep them busy out here. Make sure we don't get caught from behind as well." She motions to Vivio to follow her before sprinting off. "We best hurry. Follow me!" She already knows where Gaius was and were they need to go.

The Cassian officer taps a command into his Battle Gauntlet, and a small discharge of energy deploys its Sentinel barrier program over Mihk and the child to ensure they can get safely to the bunkers where the child's mother awaits. He gives a nod, and most of the other Dominion soldiers move out as the armored woman indicated.

Then turns his attention back to the dragon gloating while fires are still burning around them. "War will never spare every life... but every life that can be saved to ensure the future of a kingdom is worth it."

Energy crackles behind the drake. "Stuff it ya ugly blighter." Even as he steps out of the Gate tech the sharpshooter levels both his mag-pistols at the back of the drake and fires, using one of his Spell Surges to magnify the power. If Mihk's spell blast was powerful enough his Assassinate skillshot should finish it off before it can chase after the others moving to reinforce other positions.

He then gives a polite tip of his head to the armored woman. "G'day, milady." Then blips away to join other fights with another Gate spell.
Guest Vivio     Teamwork! Vivio releases her grip on the dragon, jumping away as it slumps down to the ground. Vivio looks a little sadly at the poor creature, wondering why it was led to attack this place. But her questions have to wait as another dragon appears, heading towards them.

Turning to face the approaching dragon, Vivio shifts her stance. But it looks like she won't have to fight another thanks to the intervention of the red soldier. "Thanks!" calls Vivio.

As the red Garlean asks for them to go and meet up with Lord Van Baelsar, Vivio nods, "Alright! Be careful~" Vivio looks around for a moment, realising she doesn't know where to go. But it looks like Mantigora does! Vivio nods and begins to run after the Draken.
Gaius Van Baelsar Garen's shots are true, one aims for the wing, another for the shoulder, and the third for the head. The dragon crashing down to the ground through a part of the building. At least that was one problem to not deal with, only the next comes after him as a nother dragon swoops down for him with a roar.

Must be the cologne or something.

The Legatus looks at the two, before he turns about and fires a few head shots at some soldiers dumb enough to peek over. "Actually," he looks directly at Sanary. "I need you to help Garen out here and keep these men alive when you see them down."

He lowers his head slightly. "You know our weakness and you know what it takes to get beyond it. Use that knowledge wisely. These are all garleans you aid... and face. Purebloods..." He can only hope that is enough information for her.

Gaius then looks to Yari, "Centurion. Come. No time to delay, the palace has come under attack and a flare was fire for aid." Without much else said, he moves and suspects there to be no argument about his choice.

So Sanary? Going to give Garen a hand with his dragon trouble?

Mantigora and Vivio will soon meet up with Gaius who motions to them. The man was tall and the armor covered him from head to toe, though there was several scuff marks, along with claw locations on the dark armor. Even the crimson leather-cloth material didn't look much better. One of the 'horns' on his helm had even been snapped off.

Yeah. He has been seeing some action today.

"You two, you are to both come with me. It is of the greatest of urgency, I'll explain as we go." He says as he motions to them and starts to make his way for a large building that is not only smoking, but rows of men both enemy and ally alike lay dieing or already dead.

"The one behind this has been located inside the main palace. While his Radiance, our Emperor should be safe, a flare was fired from the High Legatus. This means that they were not able to hold down the position and now both may be in trouble." It was the quickest run down Gaius could give everyone. "This man, he is to be killed. He is a traitor to the Empire and as dangerous as the man whom he has sworn his real allegiance too."

Gaius rumbles lowly, "...and one whom we should have killed instead of sparred that year..."

Meanwhile the other Imperial forces give that drake a what for and start to assist in holding down a few lines, while Mihk races in to save the child, including getting her back to her mother. Which will lead her to eventually even giving aid possible to the people in the shelters as the medics down there were swamped. Though she find her aetheric magic may have some trouble in healing them, but it was still help never-the-less.
Garen     Garen simply grimmaces as he see's another dragon fly for him. "...Really?" He simply asks. He checks the ammo of his big rifle and simply starts firing at the new dragon. Of course...when he ran out, the cipher agent would pill out that sword he kept from Yari and his blaster and try some slashing and cutting.
Sanary Rondel      "Understood. You two be careful in there." Tossing a bit of restorative energy toward Gaius and Yari just in case, the healer listened to the Legatus' words carefully before nodding slowly. Did he mean that all Garleans had that same reaction? If so.... Well, she could think about that once they encountered more Garleans. Hoisting that switchaxe back into her shoulder, she made a beeline for Garen who... Actually wasn't too far away.

That, in turn, led to moving straight towards another dragon. Between that and leaving Yari to fight on another front, there's a bit of apprehension even as she moves in to aid Garen with that dragon.

Not enough to stop her from charging straight at the creature, but still. "I got this side, Garen!" Transforming the giant axe into a giant sword instead, she lets out another battle cry as she brings that massive blade down right at the dragon's back, ice trailing from the element phial inside the weapon discharging with the swing.
Valentha Summers     So much HANDY TECHNOLOGY around! A pity she's having to destroy it. Val's going to be going over all the wreckage she possibly can later. But for now...

For now, she continues dissuading any more troops from entering the city. Swooping down low over the ground and using her breath to harass any grouping of anything that isn't a defender or victim of this assault. Anything Dravanian? Is in for a rough ride!
Gaius Van Baelsar As the group heads inside, things continue to rumble outside. This battle out here for the city is /far/ from over...

Garen shots ring through the skies as the dragon rolls this way and that way. One shot does clip the beast in the wing as he crashes down onto the ground, but that does exactly end his reign of chase. Instead with a screech of annoyance, the dragon hurls a fireball right for Garen!

Though in turn he gets shot in the shoulder.

Behind Garen though is another mater entirely, as a ground Drake lunges right for him, snapping its teeth for him. The blaster burns the scales and the beast bits down on the flat of the blade, trying to hold onto it with its sharp teeth.

Thankfully for Garen having to worry about two fronts was ended by Sanary, who slams down her blade into the Dragon's back who cries out in pain. The Ice creeps along the scales as the dragon tries to shake her off, however the pain eventually causes it to crash down to the ground, out cold.

The worse part was, as it seems perhaps like a breather, more forces can be seen coming their way. A group of soldiers heading right for them, shots were soon to ring toward them as bullets of ceruleum charge shots impact the ground or near by them exploding as they do so. Sanary may find this an issue for that shield of hers.

Val is probably going to get followed in the sky by more annoying fliers cause that is just the light for things, but at least the proper Garlean Airforce response is starting to get a handle of the skies thanks to her help!

As the golden dragon swoops down, she goes after the ground forces of Drake and man alike. The Drakes get caught in the fire and screech in pain, the men however are quick to leap for cover and fire at her in her passing.
Garen     Garen gives a nod towards Sanary, and simply just sighs as he spots the incoming rush of soldiers. " They REALLY don't know when to quit..." He mutters. Though he pulls the sword from the drake and stretches a little. "...but we will have to show them why that's wrong, eh?" He asks. With that, he takes some potshots and as they get close, unleashes the training from the house of El, and some more varied multiversal martial arts.
Sanary Rondel      Leaving the giant blade in the dragon's hide for now, Sanary doesn't have much time to gloat inwardly about that success before the bullets start coming from behind her. Even with her armor's... Whatever it is boosting her ability to guard against powerful attacks, she's still not too fond of taking exploding bullets head on. The shield certainly helps mitigate some of the damage, at least, but getting knocked around and feeling the explosions impacting through her armor does make her regret not bringing the more evasive armor today.

"Seriously. Nngh... Doing alright over there? Need any healing or whatever?" Trying to weave through the shots as best she can (hint: not well), she takes another moment to catch her breath before taking out one of those grenades. Mimicking Yari's earlier motions in prepping the explosive, the healer hurls it as hard as she can at the oncoming soldiers before starting to fire flaming blasts during her own approach. She's making sure to aim at the ones further away from Garen, though, since friendly fire's not going to help their situation out much.

And as she gets close enough? She'll just start lashing out at them with the fire-imbued gunaxe instead.
Valentha Summers     Roaring in pain from the dozens of shots that keep striking her, Valenthanixa's driven to the ground. She goes skidding across the ground... tears up quite a trench of dirt too!

But the moment she's motionless? Val's back to casting spells. In a few seconds.... FSSSSSHT!

A huge blue dome, sizzling and crackling, forms around her whole body. It's a HUGE energy shield, and one can only GUESS how much magical power it takes to keep going.

And from within that shield? She keeps casting spells. MORE lightning bolts fall down, splashing on her pursuers and assailants with the fury of the gods of heaven!

... Meanwhile, bullets are being pushed OUT of her body where they penetrated, falling to the ground. The oldest wounds she's received in this fight have ALREADY HEALED. So her strategy is clear:

Force people to deal with the shield, while her regeneration gives her some relief.
Gaius Van Baelsar Garen and Sanary continue to hold the line against the soldiers. Shot fired, martial arts move continue, and grenades explode. Yet they keep coming, including as a few more Drakes leap over the line and go crashing down on the ground. One pouncing right for Garen.

Two heading right for Sanary, though they are held up as not far from them a massive explosions wakes the sky as a blue plume of fire rockets upward, impacting a passing fighter.

This impact causes the fighter to lose control and it starts to head right for them, and the two Drakes make a run for it!

The shield that Val generates proves to be a problem to break and her spells even a greater problem! The lightning bolts give her some needed distance from flyers. Those on the ground are forced to take cover and a few of those lives are taken by her assault.

Soon for Val things get very quiet. Soon it seems like none really remain standing against the golden dragon, though she too may see the plume of blue fire. This was followed by a rumble near her as suddenly the ground explodes at points as blue flame rushes right out of the street. A trail of this explosive fire heading right for her!

Looks like a "gas line" has been hit in normal world terms.
Garen     Garen narrows his eyes at the drake and fires right at it. He, rather the merely run away, runs AT the drake. Suicide, right? But Garen's smart, and drops a flash bomb behind him, hopefully to blind the drake. If he does it, he will shoot and try to jam his sword right into the drake's eye socket. A quick glance upward then has the agent taking off in a run, dropping a trio of smoke, flash, and a few normal grenades behind him. One to stun, one to blind, and one to hurt. It was up to the enemy to decide what was what.
Sanary Rondel      "... Oh, come on!" Grunting in irritation, Sanary channels some of that healing magic into her hand before tossing it Garen's way in a bright green light ball. Once it reaches him, it would amplify his natural healing and recovery, mending wounds and giving him a boost of energy! She even has some of that energy going through herself to mitigate some of the wounds she's been taking over the course of the battle.

With all these traitorious soldiers coming their way? Every little bit helps. Plus, they'll need that energy to get out of the way of the freaking AIRSHIP threatening to smash into them. Scooping up that switchaxe, the healer makes a break in the opposite direction to try and put some more distance between herself and the landing point. She's got the shield just in case, of course, but she's not dumb enough to try and block THAT head-on.

     Yet.

Spotting the gout of flame headed closer and closer to the golden dragon, however, the healer refocuses her efforts on channelling that healing magic once more. Even in mid-run, the healer grunts hoarsely before hurling the ball of restoring light over to Valentha, trying to give the dragon a boost of energy and assist with her natural regeneration.
Valentha Summers     CERULEUM. LOVELY. All Valenthanixa can DO in this situation is... hunker down and hope her shield holes. The blue explosions tear apart her sizzling shield, ripping it right down the middle, but the moment it's down Valentha launches herself skywards. The flames sear a NASTY scorch across her belly, heat-resistant scaling or not, and she ROARS in the agony. But the sheer force of it all sends her skywards and... for some reason, she just sort of floats there, not even flapping her wings, gasping and examining the seared flesh of her belly.

    Owwwwwww.
Gaius Van Baelsar Garen and Sanary get away, even though the Drakes don't fare to well, nor do the soldiers. The Airship is actually crashing down behind them as the street tears apart, buildings go crashing down as it continues to slide, and its creeping up on them faster and faster.

Their heels are almost touched by the rubble clearing up, but it at last comes to a stop and the dust cloud rolls over them. They are-- however-- thankfully alive!

Val heads skywards to tend to her poor belly, but gives her a chance to see while she is up there that the war... the war was over! They had done it! That was obvious as several flares went over from the massive Airship that lit up the sky with blue light that flicked for a bit before going out.

Though the city however was a mess, but at least... at least the lives were saved.

But what of the Emperor?
