Duet Fortuna     WARNING WARNING WARNING!

This scene will contain extremely heavy spoilers of scenes to come in the TP. None of this is information which will not be revealed OOCly at a later point, but if you want to be surprised by the twists and turns, and are reading this out of curiosity, you should close the window.

    Okay that should do it.
Duet Fortuna     While they didn't arrive together, Duet and Elliana arrived at almost the same time, not far apart. They took separate vehicles, so it mostly was coincidence, other than the fact that they both have something to do in the tower today!

DUET is still wearing a mask, but even with it she might seem oddly familiar. She's also wearing some casual clothes fitting for the Boston area, including holding a jacket in case it rained. "Hello! I'm here for the tour!"

ELLIANA, meanwhile, has arrived with Saber(Mordred) and gives a polite nod to Duet before heading in and asking, quietly, "This may be a little awkward, but we did schedule an appointment with the physician. If Sir Hall and Lady Haruno are available, tell them we are here."

She'll let Mordred carry the conspicuously large cooler she's brought with her.
Guest Psyber     Luckily, it was Psyber at the front desk when both parties came in. The half-angel nods to both requests and says, "Right, Duet, I'll handle that in one second," Psyber says as he picks up a large envelope from under his desk. He then leans over to his phone on the front desk and rings up, "Sakura, your six o'clock is here. She's requesting Nathan as well if you're up for it."

He looks up from the table, "They'll be down in a second," He remarks as he hangs up the phone and starts to gather some paperwork, "Come on, Duet. We'll head to the freight Elevator around the side of the building so we don't tie up the regular office one," The half-angel waves to the masked woman, signalling her to follow him, "I'll show you the area I want you working in first, since I had some follow-up questions about your abilities."

He's content to leave Mordred and Elliana in the lobby for Nathan and Haruno to come handle. It's their appointment, after all, much as it worries him.
Mordred     Mordred has to carry a LARGE COOLER, so she can't just sort of appear today. She's wearing those denym short shorts, the white tank-top and the Psyber-jacket today, rather than the heavier getup from the party. She'll eye Duet, but generally mind her own business past that.

She's not exactly thrilled to have to plot with Nathan and Haruno of all people, but the master's call is the master's call.

Her other hand holds a re-heated chicken brochette from the party which she sometimes pluck a chunk of meat off of.
Duet Fortuna     Duet smiles, then nods back to Mordred before hurrying on her way to catch up with Psyber. "Right, right. Coming! I'm curious to see what you have here. I'll answer what I can, but it's a little hard for me to explain."

She draws even with Psyber and vaguely looks around, though she doesn't even make a move to remove her mask.
Sakura Haruno     Eventually, the main office elevator will ding and open up before Flowers steps off of it, dressed at least semi-professionally. This mostly means she's not wearing pajamas under the lab coat, though the different between that and the scrubs she is wearing under it - which have some faded bloodstains on them, mildly worryingly - may be academic.

She's managing to repress her scowl at having agreed to this appointment something like eighty percent of the time, with flashes of it showing now and then as she heads over to where Elliana and Mordred await, not greeting them right off but rather giving a somewhat suspicious look at the cooler. "I hope that you haven't been continuously carrying leftovers since last week with you?" She'll ask, thinking of the food poisoning.
Guest Psyber     Psyber nods his head to Duet and tucks the envelope under one arm, "Oh Mordred! If you get hungry, feel free to hit up the fridge. It's mostly frozen pizza rolls though, since Hastur left," Psyber calls as he leaves through the front doors.

He'll lead Duet around the side of the building towards an elevator located off one of the parking lots adjacent to it, big enough to load large amounts of stuff, "So what's with the mask?" Psyber asks jokingly as he unlocks the gate with a key and steps onto it, "You hiding the fact you're secretly the lost Fairchild sister?"

The question is asked in a totally joking tone, Psyber giving a faint chuckle as the elevator starts to descend to the basement under the office in a lurching fashion. It's a heavy-lift elevator, meaning its slower but more reliable.
Nathan Hall     Nathan is quite aware of Elliana's intentions. Still in that weird state of hateful and helpful, he's come along at invitation. The cursory acknowledgement of the tour group is given, of course. The real subject of this today is Haruno's meeting. "I'm surprised you don't have expectations, I'm surprised you don't have those particularly sort of grim expectations for the cooler, Haruno." He says, heading out of the elevator as well. "It'll be explained at the right time."

He does give a brief nod to Elliana. "Hello, Lady Fairchild." He says. Mordred, of course, remains someone who he doesn't speak to. He does stare at her, briefly, and with an abject lack of expression, but not much else.
Duet Fortuna     DUET shakes her head at the question. "No, don't be silly. As far as I'm aware, Lady Fairchild is the last, with no siblings. But it would be best if she didn't see my face... or anyone else. Not all of us are so willing to expose our scars to the world as she is. Allow me a little vanity."

It's only after she's in the elevator that she asks, "That won't be a problem, will it? I intend to earn my trust through deeds. If it would make you feel better, I would be willing to remove it for a medical checkup."
Duet Fortuna     Sigh. Elliana gestures to the cooler, "It's... you'll see and understand. I think you'll find things interesting from a medical perspective, anyway. Let's go somewhere private and I can fully explain."

It's only once she's out of earshot of microphones and others that she gets a little more tense, glancing at Nathan. "Sir Hall has agreed to this, as has Saber, but it is not exactly simple. I am going to ask you to do something for me, Flowers." Yes, she just used the nickname. "And I do not ask you to fully trust me. Maybe someday you will, but that would be far too much now. In asking you to do this, I am giving you a secret that could destroy my plans if you let it out. I will explain further if you are willing to at least entertain this sort of exchange with me. Sir Hall can verify that it is something being done with his knowledge. No one else can know, or matters will not unfold as they should."
Guest Psyber     Something about that phrasing Duet used in relation to scars gives Psyber pause. Not out of suspicion, but more out of understanding, "No. You won't need to take it off and show anyone your face if you don't wish to," He says to her concedingly, "I can't ask you to give up your own secret when I have so many of my own," Psyber concedes to the girl.

When the elevator clanks to a stop at the bottom of the shaft, it opens up into what would seem to be an almost surgically clean area. Steel walls and floors with runes and seals, along with plexiglass doors and steel shutters. It also has security cameras everywhere. You can check the actual description later for more information. Psyber reaches into the folder and hands the girl her first present of the day.

"Your office keycard. This will grant you access to every floor, but this is going to be your work place," He waves around a bit, "You said your skills were tailored to handling, managing, and sealing dangerous artifacts. So, I'd like to get to trust you a bit more and put you to work cataloguing and subduing what you can down here. There's a lot, since I've been at this job a while."

"Tell me a bit about your abilities and how you found out you had such talents, if you feel like sharing."
Sakura Haruno     Of course, Hall's verification is only worth so much to Sakura, but she'll lead her way towards somewhere more private. Her little medical office, if they'll accept that, or whereever else might be appropriate.

Flowers will be obviously a little surprised at the use of her nickname, eyes going wide and then narrowing in suspicion. She'll glance at the cooler again at Nathan's question. "There's not a body or something in there, is there? I can't bring back someone long enough dead that you've brought them here in a cooler." She'll state, truthfully enough. "But you should have already known that. Is this truly something medical, then?" Flowers will ask, looking back to Elliana. "I can keep secrets if I believe they need to be kept, but you should know I won't do anything unethical. What do you want from me for this secret?"
Duet Fortuna     Accepting the packet and tucking it into her messenger bag, Duet listens to everything else with slight nods, keeping her voice... well, not there at all. Not until she's actually asked some questions about them.

"My actual magical abilities are small, but getting stronger," Duet says. "Mostly, I have some... basic increased speed and reflexes, a bit of toughness. Nothing that can stand up to the real monsters out there. I have a lot of experience with acquiring unusual relics and handling them safely, but with some effort I can actually repress dangerous powers. I can't demonstrate that tonight, but sometime next week, after I've had a chance to rest and recover, I should be able to handle a few relics if you'd like proof."
Guest Psyber     "I see," Psyber says as he folds his hands in front of himself. He looks around and then slides his own keycard into one of the doors, letting it open with a hiss. Inside the vault, the walls are lined with big and small doors, some see-through and others less so, "Yes, I think a demonstration next week would be nice. I'd like to see your talent in action," He adds with a smile.

"What do you need to be provided with for you to be able to work in here?" He asks as he leads her around, "And do YOU have any questions? Feel free to ask whatever you'd like, since I'm doing so in kind."

A pause, "Where in the Multiverse do you hail from, anyway? I admit I'm a bit curious as to your past."
Nathan Hall     Nathan follows along, with the usual shuffling slowness. He resists the urge to drop a cleverly obfuscated line at Haruno. "It is medical, certainly. Your expertise is a necessity, very much a sort of necessity here. And you won't be harming anyone. Well, you won't be harming anyone who you don't already think it's ethical to harm. Lady Fairchild requires your particular expertise, your particular discretion. Aside from the..." He gestures vaguely at Haruno's hair. "You know, I am certain you know better than any comparable experts how to keep a secret."

Despite being here on their side, in a sense, Nathan makes sure to wander about the room in such a way that Haruno winds up between him and Elliana, and especially between him and Mordred, socially closing himself a bit.
Duet Fortuna     It's probably a good idea to keep Sakura between Nathan and Mordred, at least. Elliana tsks lightly, "You underestimate how long I could keep someone in a cooler alive. Though..." She glances. "They would be awfully short. No, nothing like that, not an entire corpse." An entire corpse. That's not a good start, is it?

Elliana moves right along and starts unlatching the cooler. "To put it simply, I have been given a chance to leave the Confederacy. I know you think I am not a pleasant person, but the company there is even more unpleasant. However, if I were to leave just like that, it may have... complications. So I have devised a manner in which I can safely leave, and very shortly. But there is a complication there, too, that requires a medical expert independent of the Confederacy."

She opens the cooler, revealing an entire arm, somehow still twitching, with three symbols on the back of the hand. "My Command Spells for Saber are distinctive. If I am to take a new identity, I will need new Spells. Transferring the magic circuits and spells with them is a nontrivial task, but I believe you can do it. Naturally, you now already know the bulk of my plan. I am extending my trust this far, and offering you the exact identity I plan to take if you help me. The information I have just given you could get me killed, you understand."
Duet Fortuna     "It should be simple," Duet replies to Psyber. "Drawing materials... chalk or paint would work, anything really. I ah... hope you don't expect me to work with anything too dangerous yet, I'm still working my way up to more complex sealings."

When she's asked where she's from, she replies, "The upper vest side?" A faint smile, and she shakes her head. "Hiding it from a detective would be pointless. I've been out in the multiverse recently, but I speak Imperial fluently. It's... easiest to just say I'm from Terra Majora. I'm pretty sure Lady Fairchild has already figured out my real identity. Our goals aren't exactly aligned, but I think for the time being they're close enough that she doesn't care."
Sakura Haruno     "..Aside from the what?" Sakura asks, completely oblivious even in adulthood to the thought of cotton candy not being an appropriate color for her hair for stealth and discretion. She won't have too much time to worry about it, or seem to even really notice how Hall's putting her in the middle, because Elliana's words will provide an appropriate distraction at first.

"You want to leave the Confederacy without some of their members finding out it is coming?" She'll ask, managing to avoid any of the sarcasm she really wants to put into it. "I wouldn't have thought you'd need help with that.. oh." That would be the point where the arm is revealed.

Sakura will bend down towards the cooler, reaching for the arm. "Do I.. want to know where the arm came from? You are wanting to switch these spells with yours, or am I misunderstanding?" She seems at least a little bit distracted from just what Elliana's asking from her in any kind of moral sense by what seems like a fascination with the challenge from a medical point of view. "I've worked around these before, of course, but I can't say I've tried anything like what you're asking." She'll add, testing the arm with a bit of chakra to look at both its health and the circuits if she isn't stopped by someone.
Guest Psyber     "Interesting," Psyber comments as he looks around the room. He's trying to avoid giving away the level to which Duet seems to puzzle him in her mystique, so he's trying to play at being aloof while still indulging his curiosity. He waves around a bit, "Well, once you take over down here, put in order forms and we'll get you what you need. I recommend one of those cat posters for the wall that says 'hang in there'."

"Nice ghostbusters reference, by the way," Psyber notes, placing his hands into his pockets and then taking a slight shrug, "Figures someone from Terra Majora would need to be so vague. That's a crazy messed up world. Sorry I haven't done more for it, I've been trying my best."
Duet Fortuna     A shrug, a shake of her head, and Duet admits, "Fairchild is using me, but she's being up front about it... as much as she can, and she's doing more than I could by myself. I don't really mind being her pawn in this case. Maybe something good will come of this, and if it doesn't... maybe I'll be in a position to do something to clean up the mess."

She sighs, "I've always hated the politics game though. If it counts for anything, I'm hoping that the Union can provide a positive influence after the war."
Nathan Hall     Nathan doesn't answer Haruno there. He does know the plan, which is why he makes double-sure to avoid looking into the cooler. He would very, very much not like to see dismembered things. "There are key elements of this matter that Lady Fairchild cannot accomplish herself. Major surgery is one that only you can accomplish. I have my own role."

He glances, aside, to Elliana herself. "As I recall, the signs are an identifying element." He says, gesturing at the hand while still avoiding looking at it. "We are seeking a way to implant new Command Seals, and do so in such a way that the link that the Saber of Fairchild has can be maintained with Lady Fairchild while still appearing to be the result of a transfer between two distinct identities."

He turns his back on the arm and gets some distance, awkwardly. He still has about the average human being's response to a dismembered limb, even if he doesn't show it at all. "I believe you can determine, in your own way, the best route to use the available resources to reconstruct the false arcane identification."
Guest Psyber     "I hope that too," Psyber says seriously, "Terra Majora been a..." He pauses, thinking of the right terms, "It's been an interesting world for my office to have been involved in. And it's generated more problems for me than most others," Psyber shakes his head a couple times, "But the Union has tried its best to make due where it can, despite that."

"Anyway, your work area," He waves around a bit, "And then..." Psyber fishes around in his pockets for a bit, "Ah, here." He hands over a second set of keys, these ones being actual KEYS instead of keycards, "You said you needed somewhere to crash when you were done on Terra Majora. It's not much, just a bed and some generic furniture from the IKEA."

"It's uh... room eight. From one of the old residents that moved out a while back, so it was unused."
Duet Fortuna     Elliana steps aside to let Sakura examine the arm. "No, I need them grafted on in addition to the ones I have remaining. I'll burn through the remainder in the process of the breakaway." She quiets to let Sakura do the investigation, though.

The arm is... almost still alive. Still /active/ certainly. She's probably pumped something into it to make it that way. This is good, because the magic circuits haven't decayed yet, making extraction possible. It's equivalent of working with nerves, though, so it is pretty precise.

"As Nathan said, it is a matter of making people believe it is two distinct entities," Elliana picks up where he lets off. "Simply transferring them would be enough. You needn't worry about the former owner... as people have said on Heaven or Hell's own channels, the Magi of these worlds are... giant dicks, usually."
Sakura Haruno     "Mm. And you need this done now, I presume. Do you want them on the other arm from the ones you have already?" Sakura doesn't know everything about the way the spells work already, but she's running an increasing amount of chakra through the arm to explore just how it is interconnected.

"Or would you rather I graft the entire arm on? I usually try not to do anything so extreme, but I could probably make it work if you need another one." Sakura asks, as though the sudden appearance of an extra arm would not give the entire thing away. "Just how are you preserving this, anyways? It's moderately impressive."
Duet Fortuna     Duet takes the keys, slipping a finger through the ring to toy with them while she's at it. "I know. I think it's at a point where it can't take much more, but I'm happy that things are starting to improve. The people really just need something or someone to rally behind, something decent. I'm not the kind of person who can offer that, but I'm going to use my time here to look, if you don't mind."

Then she smiles. "In the meantime, I guess I'll see what I can do about catalogueing those artifacts sometime later this week."
Guest Psyber     "I'm hoping Elliana's plan will work out, whatever it is. Then again, usually when her plans work out, there's some fallout that blows up everywhere. Sometimes she intends it, sometimes she doesn't, it's usually pretty messy. She tries, though," He shrugs a bit and nods his head to Duet, "Anyway. Not much ah... else to show you, really. You can look around on your own time at any point," He adds.

Then abruptly, he remembers, "Oh! You said you had a 1911. Can I see it?"
Nathan Hall     Nathan stares at Sakura for several long seconds, with an utterly expressionless eye. "No." He says. "I think we can all agree that Lady Fairchild already has enough problems with matters of that sort." Elliana knows what he's talking about.

He doesn't need to say much more. He has, of course, not really spoken to Elliana very much since that whole incident, so he's apparently just sort of going along with the plan so far without actually giving any substantial responses to Elliana. He stands by, mostly to function in an overseeing capacity. "I expect we will want it done as soon as possible, or as soon as convenient. The fewer meetings, the better, but I have the impression that you have time, if you need to examine this further."
Duet Fortuna     Elliana holds up her left hand. "The other hand, yes, and not the whole arm, as Nathan said." Again with the casual names. She is wearing a glove, though... and now it makes sense why both hands have a glove. "As soon as possible, but if you need more time and don't think it will damage the arm, that's fine. I do know some medicine, though nothing on your level. I also have the ability to manipulate life force, I'm simply far better at taking than giving. Using it to heal is... difficult, but keeping this preserved and mostly-alive is possible."

She lowers her hand and draws the glove off. "Are you willing to try? I know we haven't the easiest of pasts. In fact, you of all people have every right to hate me, just as Nathan does. That's why I'm trusting you with what I hope will be a real second chance. If all this goes off, I will be remembered as a terrible villain."
Duet Fortuna     For a moment, Duet hesitates. "That's true. She's caused a lot of trouble. I am keeping an eye on her." The reason for the hesitation is the request to see her 1911. She looks aside, frowning at first... then nodding, "If you want."

The weapon she withdraws isn't any old Colt. It's of a bluish cast, a custom make of 1911 with some intricate, careful engravings. She holds it out for inspection, but doesn't hand it over. There's something ever so slightly /off/ about it, though. Like, it's an image so much like the one Elliana was given, but distinctly not in some strange way. Like a pistol that Psyber /could/ have made, if things had gone differently.
Guest Psyber     Psyber leans in and inspects it, "Huh. It's well made. I'd almost swear it was one of mine, but I know it's not. Who made it for you?" He doesn't try to grab it, since he can tell the make of it with his eyesight just fine from a distance. It's definitely perplexing for him to look at.

"It's a good gun, though. You ever need it tuned, bring it to me," He says before holding out his hand towards her, "I guess all that's left is to say 'Welcome to Heaven or Hell'. I'll leave packages for healthcare, 401k, and salary in your room."
Sakura Haruno     Flowers will glance at Nathan, seeming to consider what he's saying. "Can we..? I'm not sure that I know much about that." She'll state. "And if you're willing to risk it being a little rushed, I think I can probably give it a try. Of course, there's the obvious problem with this - if I do this, and you end up taking advantage of it to hurt other people, then it will be because of me."

Flowers shakes her head, giving a glance over to Hall. "Why are you going along with this, then? Do you actually believe her?" It's almost a question looking for guidance; Sakura doesn't like Hall, but she'd at least respected his steadfastness for quite a while on this issue, and this was such a reversal..
Duet Fortuna     Tucking the pistol away, Duet nods slightly, "I know. It was given to me by... a good friend that I had to say goodbye to, some time ago. I'll miss him, and I owe him a lot. I'm sure you know the type."

She lets out a slow breath then. No questions she couldn't handle, thankfully. "I appreciate it. I hope I'll be able to help out in the coming days, too. I'll take a look before heading out again tomorrow morning... it's going to be a busy few weeks, I think."
Nathan Hall     Nathan responds to Sakura by looking, for several long seconds, at Elliana, as if sizing her up or something like that. "If she is lying to me, the end result of this may see me and several other people close to me dead, as well as Lady Fairchild utterly escaping from every conceivable negative consequence of that action, and gaining every conceivable advantage from it." He says, frankly. "And historically I have an extremely poor history when it comes to trusting Lady Fairchild. Of our multiple collaborations, only one ever resulted in a betrayal towards me not at least happening among her allies, if not herself. Additionally, I hate her, in a sense similar to the one that you do."

Then he turns back to Haruno, and makes a plaintive, almost helplessly shrugging open-palmed gesture. "I have chosen to take this path regardless. I do so, for reasons that I feel are logical and supercede the previous factors. Whether or not I believe what she is saying is irrelevant. After giving the situation all due consideration, I am doing what I judge to be right. I believe it would be right for you to help her as well. That is why I am going along with this." Lot of words for an answer that's missing a big critical piece there, but at least the answer has a sense of authenticity to the monotone.
Duet Fortuna     "Now would be fine, if you think you can handle it. I can come back tomorrow if that would be better," Elliana states. "You are the doctor, here. I have little choice but to trust you. And as for hurting people?"

Elliana gestures vaguely. "People will be hurt no matter what I do. This... is going to hurt Psyber, though I'm doing my best to mitigate that. No doubt it will hurt others, too. In the long run, though... Elliana Fairchild is going to die. She will die a villain who fell due to her own hubris, as an example of how my world's system can drive someone to insanity."

She glances, and then fills in, "It is a mutual agreement. Nathan said he would support me leaving the Confederacy. I said that I would take it, if I could find some way to do so. Now we must both hold up our end of the bargain. And that is where Lady Fortuna comes in. She has graciously agreed to be that identity until such time as I need to replace her. I will be here, under your watch, should I begin drifting toward less... ethical actions."
Sakura Haruno     "I feel like you're leaving something out." Sakura says to Hall, a bit skeptical, but shaking her head. "I'm under no promise like that, of course, but I suppose I'm better off attempting the trade than I am anything else. It's my duty as a medic, if nothing else, if it results in fewer people physically hurt."

She'll reach over to take Elliana's newly ungloved arm, starting to probe with chakra there as well if Elliana allows, even as she listens along. "I assume she has her own identity to go back to, and isn't going to be found parted out in a cooler somewhere? And.. you're going to be -here- here? As in, this building? Without letting Psyber know who you actually are?" Skepticism is rolling off her now, but she seems prepared to actually carry out the procedure.
Nathan Hall     "The one we know now as Duet Fortuna will return to where she was before, and to a better homeworld than before, if this plan executes properly. Safe and, hopefully, happier for what she did." Nathan says, not commenting on what was left out. "When this is complete, Lady Fairchild will be here, in whatever particular accommodations that Duet Fortuna has made for herself. Such is the purpose of the mask she has worn. And given your handling of all future medical troubles, such is the necessity of having one of the few members of Heaven or Hell who would be likely to see under it be in on the matter."

He watches the examination of the arm with that same flat expression, apparently intending to oversee the exchange of seals. He doesn't seem to have much more to say, but he does seem open to more discussion of this.
Duet Fortuna     "She does," Elliana confirms. "You would know her as The Rat. A very decent person, really. She'll go back to Arnol's Watch, and I will take her place here. You and Nathan will know my secret, and I will eventually inform Psyber... sooner rather than later, most likely, if he doesn't figure it out for himself. It is crucial that he not know for the plan itself, as I think a genuine reaction is important. Besides, there is a very real chance that I could actually die pulling this off."

Nathan explains things just as well, so she doesn't have to go into more detail than that. She holds out the hand, spreading fingers or curling them on demand. "It's going to be an ugly but blessedly brief period, I'm afraid. And I truly do hope that this time, when the dust settles, everything will be better for all of us."
Sakura Haruno     "..Right. Well, I'm sure he'll forgive me for not telling him about this eventually." Sakura says, shaking her head. "I feel like I'm going to hate myself later for helping with this." From there, though, she'll seem to be less interested in talking. This is because she's concentrating on making thousands of tiny little metaphorical puzzle pieces fit together, expertly working to graft the spells from one arm to the other. At the very least, the medic seems locked into the challenge, and by the time she finishes it will be much, much later and she will be very tired.
