Peridot     Following her mission at the Hikari Sea harbor, something else was on Peridot's list of needs. Raw materials. She was an engineer, but she need resources to work with, and it didn't help that the collateral damage of her escort had taken out of her few of her own robonoids. Expendable as they were, she had a finite amount of them, and preemptively she would need to make more. Besides that, the Kindergarten facility would also need plenty of metals to fortify the complex.

And so, Peridot took the warship into space. She had heard of this station that she could utilize to gather supplies. The warship appeared as a gigantic green hand. It's pointer finger pointing which way it was going. Large tractors beams angled out and started grabbing wayward raw materials. Peridot stood at the console with a bored expression, her disconnected fingers flying over her control panel to coordinate the efforts of her robonoid collectors and the tractor beams.
Bardock     Second fight today, though the first was over very quickly. It left Bardock with a couple scraps and a stabbed knee and that was it. Two opponents at once... It could have been really serious if they'd stayed to fight him, but they pulled back way too fast. The saiyan is still bothered by that. Why even attack if they didn't intend to stick around? It had to be a trick. Or part of some bigger plan. Maybe if he gives them something else to deal with, they'll hold off on attacking the same target twice.

Also he's just kind of ticked off he didn't get to finish fighting. His minor injuries have been healed, so he's flying out to one of the target zones, using his Ki to grant himself the ability to breathe in space for now, as he makes his way towards Mining Station Zephyr. It's a pretty stinking huge 'ship', and even an experiened space-traveller like Bardock has to be amazed by it.

He also sees some kind of gigantic green... Hand. Is that a ship too or some kind of alien? Checking over the Union database and reports via his scouter for the second time today, he gets an I.D. Huh. Confederate vessel. Out here collecting resources.

The saiyan grins, and then begins to gather his Ki, letting it flow through him as he triggers the transformation that has his spikey black hair waving in a non-existent wind before spiking up even further and shifting to a golden hue. His eyes flash and become blue-green, and a yellow aura glows around him as he streaks towards the enemy ship, trying to close the distance as quickly as possible. A Super Saiyan's presence is not exactly subtle.
Peridot     A sensor begins beeping to Peridot's right, a neon green light that bathes her in its glow. Idly she looks to it, then back to her work. Then performs an immediate double take! Didn't her confederate allies control this area? "What the...?" She starts sitting up abruptly. She had thought this was going to be a rather routine stop. A chore. She was a meticulous report reader, and she hadn't seen any other scheduled flight plans to this corner of space.

She begins immediately trying to hail the object as her fingers danced over her control panel. "This is Peridot. Identify yourself immediately. Your current trajectory puts you on a collision course with my vessel. Alter your flight path or we will open fire."  She goes on in a worried tone. She valued information, and she hated going up against an unknown threat, no matter how physically small. She didn't make a habit of under estimating the various monstrous being she encountered since being stranded.

The vessel turns, it's open palm facing Bardock, and the pointer finger, though not pointed at him yet begins to glow. Perhaps it was charging up. "I repeat. This is Peridot, representing the Gem Empire. Veer away or be destroyed!" She went on, opting to take a page from her bodyguard, that sounded like something Jasper would say.
Bardock     Bardock receives the transmission on his scouter, and replies as best he can as he slows but doesn't stop, keeping his eyes on that glowing finger. "Bardock of the Time Patrol. From what I've heard, you're associated with the Confederacy. I came here to smash some Confederates. It's nothing personal." Honestly, this person has no reason to be here if they're not Confederate, so even if the reports HADN'T told him this much, there's no good reason NOT to attack now while he has the chance. But he somehow feels despite this that slowing down to chat is going to cost him in serious pain.

He starts things off by raising a hand and firing a Ki blast at the enemy ship, testing its defenses. It's tempting to just go all out right now, but he wants to see if there's any vulnerabilities first, or any unpleasant surprises waiting in store if he gets too close. That sort of thing.
Peridot     The bridge flashes a yellow light as the attack arches through space and impacts the side of the vessel. "Ah!" Peridot covers her face for a moment, but then leans forward to pour over the data reports. The damage didn't seem too severe but she hadn't expected any manner of attack to come directly *from* the creature. "Don't interfere! You!---" She pauses as Bardock moves into range and looks over her data as the ship returns her a few visual scans. She looks him over. He looked.. human. Except he had a tail? What was he exactly? Peridot had no intel on this manner of being. "You Bardock! I am on official gem business!"

She taps a button. "You have been warned. Opening fire!" She looks down at her panel and presses a button. The pointer of the finger once again aligning itself with Bardock, and firing out a jolt of energy!
Bardock     The potent beam of energy that sears down towards Bardock strikes him directly, throwing him off course from the impact and leaving him with some mild burns. Saiyans are built tough, but that attack was nothing to sneeze at. "If official Gem business involves helping the Confederacy, then damn right I'm going to interfere! I'm with the Union! If you're not Confederate, better say so now and clear out of the area, because I'm going to be taking this place for MY Faction!" Even as he recovers and hurls a pair of Ki grenades, one from each hand while circling around, trying to find an opening, he gives this 'Peridot' a chance to prove she's not an enemy. He'll feel mild guilt afterwards if he's somehow wrong, but he is giving her a warning just like she gave him.

He'll be sure to apologize or something if she somehow winds up just having an identical ship and isn't Confederate at all.
Peridot     "Grrahhh!" More alerts flash across her screen as the ship takes more hits. She had some some repairs since it last took damage, but she wasn't eager to do more repairs. The high strung engineer stands. "Bah! You're part of that union that's always getting in my way!" But she can't deny she's a confederate. A casual glance at any ID base would reveal that much. Though Peridot was not above manipulation.. lying. She was just arrogant to see no need for it here.

"Don't think that I'm not going to report this!" She says in an increasingly frustrated tone... Perhaps she meant that as a threat? For someone who valued bureaucracy, perhaps it was a menacing thing to say.

She inputs another command. This time three of the fingers light up and shoot forth beams of light that sustain themselves for a few seconds and dance around Bardock in an attempt to forcibly inject a little more vitamin D than he bargained for.
Bardock     Well, there's his confirmation. And there's that serious pain he was anticipating. The converging beams can't be avoided despite his attempt to weave between them, and he suffers a huge amount of damage. Pain races through his body as tries to force his way out of the path of the beams and not get trapped in them. This is definitely a more serious fight than the one he had earlier. Maybe a bit TOO serious, honestly. With damage output like that, he doesn't really stand a chance unless he finds some critical weak point and just pounds on it ceaselessly.

So he flies in close and tries to find a weak point to pound on ceaselessly, by charging Ki into his fist and trying to PUNCH the huge ship in one of its fingers. Maybe if he can disable some of its weapons, that will give him some breathing room.
Peridot      Bardock slams into one of the ships fingers and appears to do significant damage to the digit, sending shards of green gem-hull into space. The outer shell feels rather tough, designed to weather war with other battle ships. Peridot looks over a map of the ship, that shows where the damage is being concentrated. Her eyes narrowed as she looked back over the controls.

"Stop that!" She shouts over the intercom, worried that he might eventually create a breach. She was certain she couldn't take this Bardock in person, she might be reduced to shards in that scenario. She taps her holopad and The large hand suddenly shifts. Trying to flick him away.
Bardock     Bardock was preparing to gather his Ki for another attack, grinning as it seems focusing his attacks there is causing distress. This is one seriously tough ship. Not something he ever could have gone up against before his defeat at Frieza's hands. His near death. His recovery, and all the growing he has done since then. If he wasn't transformed into a Super Saiyan, his aching body would probably be in even worse condition.

But then the Gem ship treats him like a bug and just... FLICKS him away. He is sent streaking backwards through the void, trailing golden energy after him. He felt his brain rattle inside his skull, his skeleton vibrate from the impact. This thing has enormous power and it did exactly the thing he'd been hoping to find out if it could do BEFORE getting in close.

Dammit. Seems he still has a lot to learn. He gathers his Ki once more, focusing it into his hands, pulling them back... And then unleashing a barrage of blue-white Ki blasts at his enemy. He has to get serious here, he knows. He has to stay sharp. His vision is somewhat blurry, and blood is running from the corner of his mouth. Despite having the curse of prophecy... He doesn't need to be psychic to see how this is likely to end.
Peridot     Alarms blare and whine through out the bridge as Peridot braces. The ship rocking backing and forth form the pummeling it was taking. She grabs onto her console, lowering her center of gravity as she is knocked back and forth like a rag doll. She was largely impressed this Bardock could go toe-to-hull with a Gem Warship.

She waved her hand and silenced the alarms with a flick on her holopad. She fires another long-range jolt now that she had managed to create some distance. This time however, with the attack the ship begins projecting a giant holo-screen, accompanied with a transmission. It appears to be Peridot herself. Her head tilted up. The green gem in her forehead glinting.  "You have seen the first hand the might of Gem Superiority! Surrender now and we shall not do to you what we did to Hikari Sea Port!" She concluded, splaying her fingers towards the recording device... menacingly.
Bardock     Bardock doesn't know what kind of energy these 'Gems' use... But it definitely hurts. So when that long-range attack is spotted incoming, he does all he can to dodge aside, and even then still suffers a painful tearing at his body from mere proximity to the path it takes. He's bleeding, hurting, but his Ki levels are still relatively high, and he isn't out of the fight yet. When the huge holographic screen appears, showing Peridot's green face and weird green... Skul... Helmet... Thing...

Bardock has serious flashbacks to Frieza. They don't look very similar at all except for the fact they both have weird headgear, but he finds himself facing down a powerful opponent in a big ship, in space. The stakes aren't nearly as high this time. But there's still... Unpleasant similarities. So the Super Saiyan grits his teeth and yells out his response.

"I've faced someone a little bit like you. A tyrant with plenty of firepower. He destroyed my entire home world, and almost my entire species. I had no real chance against him, but I stood up to him anyway. Maybe you're not a genocidal tyrant. Maybe you are. I don't know enough about you to make that judgment. And I'd want to know more about you and your people before offering any opinion. All I know is that you're with the Confederacy. Maybe someday we'll be able to cooperate despite being on opposite sides of this war. But here, today..." He holds one hand palm up.

A sphere of blue-white Ki forms above it, and he clenches his fist shut around it. "...I'm not going to back down when we both still have so much power left to throw at each other!"

Then he pulls back his hand and literally throws a tiny spark of Ki right at Peridot's image... And the ship beyond it. If it hits, it just explodes in a wave of miniature Ki-bombs over a small area. Probably not enough to do serious damage. But it's a sign of defiance. And that's he was going for.
Peridot     Peridot's expression sours as the Ki blast sours through her holographically projected head. Her nose wrinkles for a moment into a sneer. What a rude thing to do to her image! Her eyes narrow. "I've conquered many planets in the name of Yellow Diamond. What chance does a single Bardock like you have against the likes of me!" It seems lacking any information about him, perhaps she thought his species was called Bardock? Perhaps it was just another quirk of gems, they cared so little about other species they didn't always even take the time to learn their names.   "When gems use up resources. We discard them." In no uncertain terms, the resources being discarded here appears to be the planets in question. It seemed Bardock was not too far off the mark. Gems were invaders through and through. They left a wake up dead planets, and extinct species wherever they went. Like a huge cosmic virus.

"And this world has many resources for our taking. Until the likes of you showed up. I'm on a schedule and I won't allow you to cause me any more delays!"

"And I've humored you long enough. It is time for you in turn, to be discarded!  Fire the missiles!" She shouts as the fingers light up again. This time they ejected what appeared to be a series of missiles which lance through the air, tracking towards Bardock.
Bardock     Bardock tries to fly between the missiles, dodging one or two, but others explode against him or when he gets too close, hurling him into other missiles or slowing him down enough to take the rest of the bombardment to the face. Explosions engulf him, and he is surrounded by pain and light. For a little while, it may appear to Peridot that she has successfully defeated her enemy. But then a golden streak comes tearing back into view, yelling, "Bardock is my NAME. I am a SAIYAN. And since you've confirmed who and what you are, I can't let you make the same mistakes MY people did! I can't let you go on being like I used to be!"

He's flying straight at Peridot's ship, engulfing himself in a bright blue aura that turns his golden hair momentarily cyan right before he tries to punch the ship very, very hard... And then fire an energy beam at point-blank-range directly into the possible impact crater!

"Living as a destroyer will only lead to your own destruction," he snarls afterwards.
Peridot     The alarms blare out once more, and then time Peridot is knocked from her feet and onto her back as the ship takes a massive blow from the Bardoc- excuse me, from the Saiyan. Well, file that away for her intel. Saiyans are crazy strong without ships. She grabs onto the support beam of the command console to prevent herself from sliding away as the ship lurches from the blow. Sparks flying from the various other read outs. Peridot grits her teeth.

Fortunately her hand transforms into her holopad and she panicky makes a broad slapping motion with her single remaining digit that creates a long dashing line across the screen. "Eyyaah!" She yells out in a combination of battle rage, mixed with a healthy dose of alarm.

The ship seemingly responds to her request. With Bardock back in range, it makes a motion, with all the fingers lining up. It appeared as though.. it was preparing to slap the Saiyan! How very cheeky. But as it swings towards him, the comical nature of attack gives away to its practicality. It was massive, and would be hard to dodge without some slick maneuvering. No one wants to get slapped by an entire spaceship.
Bardock     Yeah, dodging that isn't happening. Not at this range, not with that size, not with Bardock's current abilities. If he could teleport or something, that would be one thing. But the best he can do is move in bursts of super speed so fast it only SEEMS like he's teleporting. And because of the previously mentioned factors, super speed alone isn't enough. He is SMASHED and sent hurtling backwards yet again. This time what stops him isn't his own power, but his collision with Mining Station Zephyr itself. The impact sends jolts through his whole body, leaving him numb with pain, his eyes wide, the pupils seeming to actually go white from the shock.

He almost falls unconscious. And if he did that, he'd revert to his base form. In a battle like this? That could well mean death. He'd thought the stakes weren't as high as when he faced Frieza. Maybe they still aren't. But now, with his life on the line, he manages to pull himself together through determination and saiyan stubborness. He retains consciousness, breathing heavily, one eye nearly bruised closed, and plants his feet on the side of the station. Then, fighting to focus himself, he reaches into the depths of his Ki reserves, for that trump card of his. The one he should really master one of these days, given how often it keeps being necessary.

He pulls both hands back and cups them together. "Kaaameee..." he begins. A sphere of blue-white ki forms between his palms. "Haaaameee...!" The surface of the station begins to surge with electrical activity. Waves of it arcing up and down the exterior, maybe causing running lights to explode in dazzling pyrotechnic displays. The sphere grows brighter and brighter. He doesn't have the resources left to use this at full power. Not like he has so far when things got tough. So he'll just have to hope... That this is enough.

Because he doubts he'll make it through another attack.

He thrusts both hands forward and yells out the last syllable of his attack. But the roar of the blast is so loud that nearly drowns him out, as a huge beam of blue-white Ki, a river--No, more like a TIDAL WAVE of energy comes surging towards Peridot and her ship.

    "HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
Peridot     Peridot held on as the ship made that particularly maneuver. The one downside of using the ship's design as a weapon itself. There was only so much the g-dampeners could do to quell that immense g's that it put's on the ship and its occupants. As the attack swings through Peridot is notified by the ship that it has indeed struck with the target. As it goes through the follow up motion Peridot clutches her command console and steadily pulls herself up to her feet, hunched over the machine, she takes in a breath. Gems didn't need oxygen, but it certainly felt good after a tremendous strain.

"Where is he? Where'd he go?" She barked, flicking through the various view port displays as tracking algorithms ran their course, eventually they provided her with a display of Bardock. "There you are you.. Saiyan!" She growled, still maintaining her calm collected demeanor. Her holo-image appears again in space accompanied by the transmission of her voice. Bardock can see sparks flying in the background, even some smoke. "You're body is torn! The battle is won! I am going to -take- my supplies now- and--"

She leaned forward, a single eye taking up the entire holo-screen as she tried to discern what was going on. Was he getting brighter? Didn't she win? "Kame... Hame... What?" She goes on, perplexed. And before she can even think to do a escape maneuver a huge blast slams into the ship, sending her flying across the room. Her back slams into the wall, and she slides down onto the floor. Her visor cracking down the middle and falling to the floor. Her eyes blink dumbfounded, as a few of her secondary controls catch fire.

"How did he?" She asked out loud. Perhaps fortunately for Bardocks pride, the holo-screen catches all this. "Where did he get a blaster!?" She follows up, the facade of stoicism melting away to reveal the maniac underneath it. With a crazed expression she makes a wide swinging motion with her hand. "Grahhah! Finish him! Lasers, missiles, Robonoids!  Anything just throw it at him now! Hurry before he ruins everything!"  It appears to interpret the vague command by shooting a trio of lasers once more accompanied by her piercing shouting voice. "GRAAAHHH!"
Bardock     Bardock is drained after that attack, clinging to consciousness mostly due to that previously mentioned saiyan stubborness than because he has the energy to spare staying awake. He can feel himself at the limits of remaining transformed, his entire body one big bruise from that hand-ship-strike. He watches the results of his attack, the damage caused both inside and out, as well as to the ship's pilot.

She gets back up. It wasn't enough.

He tries to fly out of the way, but the trio of lasers hit him, and all he succeeds in doing is setting his trajectory when the blast hurls his unconscious form out of the area at high speed, flipping end over end. His hair has reverted back to basic black, his eyes to the same color, and there's no more sign of his aura. His armor is trashed, and so is his body.

Maybe Peridot will at least know to be cautious of saiyans in the future. Because out of all the active saiyan Elites right now... He's only the second weakest.

Bardock, as well, will be more cautious of Gems in the future. Their technology and firepower is pretty incredible. And pretty painful. He'll be in a better position to appreciate it when he wakes up.
Peridot     Peridot doesn't pursue the prone form of Bardock. She wasn't exactly a blood thirsty gem, she was an efficient, pragmatic one. Chasing him would be a waste of her precious time and she had larger fish to fry. Not to mention nothing in her mission parameters said anything about him, therefore once he stopped preventing her from doing her job, she simply picked up where she left off like a worker bee. She picks up her broken visor and tries to put it back on her face, though it simply cracks apart once more. She grumbles and discards it completely. The gem on her forehead flashes bright green, and a new visor forms on her face. She straightens out her diamond shaped hair and resumes  control of the helm.

"This is Peridot, log date 918. Threat has been neutralized, returning to normal mission control parameters. Disengaging weaponry."

"Now I have to deal with Saiyans too?" She adds bitterly. "Note to self, collect intel on these creatures, Time Patrol, activate sub-routines and scour confederate logs for Bardock. Hopefully this meddling won't be a consistent.... -thing- to add to my ever growing list of fires that I need to put out."

And so, like a cog in a machine, Peridot went back to work and started harvesting the supplies she would need for Kindergartens complex. One more step closer to making her mission a reality and providing Homeworld with a stable foothold on the planet.
