Mai Tokiha      Night was falling quickly over Fuka High School, leaving the grounds empty and silent, and oddly creepy with the vast buildings and gleaming glass. By now, almost everyone has returned home by now, going back to their dorms and homes to do... whatever children in school did. Surprisingly, there are a few people still outside near the dorms. Mai was one of them, with Mikoto close by. As she sent her message, she made sure to send a ping for her coordinates, as well.

But perhaps the greatest surprise that would be waiting for them would be a series of lines from one of the dorm's windows, leading out to be tied to nearby trees and light posts. Almost every inch of it was covered in underwear. From garterbelts to panties to bras, everything is out on display. Mai's still having snickering fits as Mikoto looks over the situation with an accepting confusion.
Yuna Kagurazaka None of that is even Yuna's underwear, and SHE'S blushing as she looks at the 'bait' that's been staked out for the Orphan. "Well, if that's not enough to lure it, we may need to check the shops in town," she suggests.

She's still in civilian clothes at the moment, even as she lurks with Mai and Mikoto. Elner's hidden in one of the trees, monitoring to see if the Orphan is detectable on its approach. Elner's still got data from the previous encounter, after all; hopefully that makes a good reference.
Maya Maya had undergarment to recover certain things she's rather the whole multiverse doesn't know she owns. It might hurt her repuation as a desert savage after all. SO here she is once more and she pauses for a moment at the sight of the bait.

"Now I se what's going on here. Give it so much it can't say no to taking a poke at it."
Mai Tokiha      Mai had been just as dumbstruck as they probably were when she first saw all of this, so seeing the look on Yuna's face made her nearly dive into a snickering fit again. "Would you believe that all came from one person? So... Let's try not to damage anything if the Orphan does show up." She coughs a bit and clears her throat as she leads everyone across a pathway from the apartment, leading them to a small bit of brush and a tree. Pretty bad cover, but it's there nevertheless. "Sorry she won't come out, by the way. Nat... Ah. The other HiME we know about is extremely suspicious of everyone. So maybe if we pull this off well I can get some brownie points..." With a smile, she crouches down a bit to watch the dazzling display of underwear dance in the wind.

Mikoto pulls at Maya's arm as she frowns quizzically. "What is all that?" She asks, adjusting the sword bag on her shoulder. "Aoi said something about this stuff, but she just said I needed a bra. I don't know what the rest is."

Mai coughs and sends Mai a warning look. "This isn't the time to talk about this stuff. What are we going to do if the Orphan actually does show up? It's really fast..."
Yuna Kagurazaka "If we need to pin the Orphan down with beamspam or something," Yuna suggests quietly, "I could call for my partners. That might damage some of the bait, though, and I'd hate to abuse your friend's willingness to loan us enough ..."

Elner is still scanning to try and pick up the Orphan on approach. If it's coming, it should be on the way, and within sensor range any moment now. For preparation's sake, though, Elner initiates Yuna's transformation -

"Wha?!" And Yuna lets out a yelp of surprise as her sundress is suddenly replaced by her armored Light Suit. "Elner, could you - oi ..." She shakes her head, tossing the exasperation out of her mind, and resumes hunkering down with the others. At least she's not blushing so much now.
Maya Maya looks to mikoto for a moment while listening to what Mai has to say.

"I understand Mai and err those are bait to lure the monster out."

Maya actually flushes a bit as she sees the designs of some of the undergarments that have been laid out.

"We don't want to cause too much of a mess however, right? That snarky kid didn't sound like he'd take well."
Mai Tokiha     Time was passing quickly as the four waited for anything to happen. Thankfully it wasn't too cold, though a brisk breeze occaisonally flows by them, making the bait sway in the wind. Both Mai and Mikoto look on, dumbstruck at the sudden change that came over Yuna's body. Sure, she'd met some people out of the wider Multiverse, but she hadn't actually seen any of them getting ready for battle.

For a moment, Mai considers summoning her Element, but decides against it. "So that's the type of power you have, huh?" Mai says quietly, before quickly bowing her head to both Maya and Yuna. "I'm really thankful you guys want to help... Even if the Orphan has your panties, too. Although... What do you do, Maya?" She's genuinely curious. Mikoto picks up on this curiosity and looks away from the bait to look up at Maya again, tilting her head curiously as she, too, waits for an explanation.

Just then, a sudden frenzy of movement might startle Elner's sensors. It seems little speedy the orphan has made his appearance! And quick as a flash, it's grabbing as much of the underwear as it can, alternating between putting some of it on and stuffing them into it's mouth. One line is quickly getting cleared, but if they're fast enough...!
Yuna Kagurazaka "Incoming," is Yuna's only reply to Mai and Maya. Her first impulse at Elner's alert is to go for the Matrix Divider, but she shunts that thought aside again, instead materializing a pistol and taking aim, not at the Orphan, but where Elner predicts it's going to be in two seconds.

By the time she's *aimed*, it's less than one second by Elner's calculations - and she trusts the robo-faerie's prediction over her own instincts, pulling her pistol's trigger and firing a focused stun blast. Hopefully that'll at least knock the Orphan off its stride and give her allies a better chance to disable the Orphan more fully; ideally, it'll work without damaging any more of the purloined underclothes.
Maya Maya says "Think like you might a wizard in a table top game some people your age enjoy would be the best way. Elemtnal powers, healing, some summoning and support spells."

She seems to be ready as she loks to Yuna and mai as well something is coming in she now gets on her guard and has a few cards in hand as she makes ready.
Mai Tokiha     Mai blinks slowly when she sees what Yuna's doing, only for her to finally get a look at what she was aiming for. "Ew, is that thing eating them, too?... Do you think we're actually going to be able to salvage any of that?" Mikoto merely growls and unzips her sword bag, finally pulling out what looked like a giant black greatsword, with a golden crossguard and a handle wrapped in red cord, with a red tassle at the end. The sword is a good three inches taller than she was. "This is Miroku," she says knowingly, before she charges out towards the creature. Mai follows closely after.

The Orphan went along carelessly, apparently completely heedless of the fact that it was being watched. When Yuna's shot strikes, it the creature suddenly spasms and drops from the line--only to get back up as soon as it hit the floor. The sound of scratching claws fills the air as it begins to run for it's life.

Mikoto launches off in chase, snarling angrilly as she dragged her giant sword behind her. Mai dashes out to give chase. "Go get it, Mikoto!" She yells encouragingly.
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna chases after the Orphan as well, letting her pistol vanish since she can't fire accurately while running. "Maya," she calls out, "can you cast something to immobilize that thing?" SHe doesn't know exactly what Maya's magic includes, but she DID just mention 'support spells'; hopefully that includes weakening enemies as well as strengthening allies. She knows from last time, though, that the Orphan is so *fast* and small that keeping up with it tends to require a running start and almost foreknowledge of where it's going.

Elner can at least track the Orphan now, and depending on where it's going relative to where Elner lost track of it previously, maybe the robo-faerie can predict its destination if push comes to shove.

Or, for that matter, *Mai* or *Mikoto* could figure it out - they know the campus, and if the path through the rotunda and the Orphan's current direction of flight happen to intersect, they probably know the campus well enough to have some idea of what's there. Right?
Maya Maya says "No but I can slow it down a lot."

She's pulling a card from the deck, Maya's keeping tabs on thing now. She makes note of Miroku as well. That blade is certainly very strange red glow from it and blue fire bleeds from her body into it the thing might just find it self becoming far slower, sluggish as if it was moving through half frozen taffy...
Mai Tokiha     Thankfully, it appeared the Orphan wasn't trying to run into any of the buildings, instead going for the forest just down the path from the dorms. Maya's spell causes it to slow drastically, but it continues on valiantly even as the group begins to catch up. Thankfully for it, it had a pretty good head start before all of this.

When it finally pulls short in the center of a big clearing, Mai lets out a little victory cry. "It's stopped! There's no way that it can--huh?!" Mikoto pulls short as she stares around them, growling as she brings her sword to bear. "I can smell them!" She proclaims. Mai blinks, turns around--and gasps as she short.

Poor Elner's sensors would be going haywire, as suddenly there was movement and sound all across the forest. Thousands of the things are appearing, surrounding the clearing, each holding some sort of article of underwear. Two of them near the front are even wearing ones that would be shockingly familiar to Yuna and Maya. They're also being worn on the creatures' heads.

Mai looks around slowly, scarecly daring to breath as she pulls Mikoto close, and edges closer to Yuna and Maya. "Uh... I think now's the time to ask 'now what', guys."
Maya Maya pause as she hears them. Maya would pause at the undergarment she's seeing and she turns bright, bright red. She stammersa a bit.

"I see... umm my wait just how many of these pervy little things ARE THERE?!"

Maya's backing off a bit after all she does't want to go overkill on things.
Yuna Kagurazaka "Are there actually this many of them," Yuna wonders, "or are they all part of one creature somehow?"

Elner is trying to make sense of it, of course - but on the plus side, the robo-faerie's sensors are no longer required to track the Orphan to its nest - or rather, the Orphans to their nest.

The blonde idol singer turned magical warrior takes a breath, materializes her sword, and ... tries to pull her panties off the nearby creature's head. She's even trying to do so without hurting it, which may be unnecessarily considerate of her.
Mai Tokiha     Mai looks around the circle of little Orphans with wide eyes, keeping a strong hold on a struggling Mikoto. She wants to go out for blood, but there's no telling just what all these things will do if one of them gets violent. "It explains why they've been able to steal so much from so wide an area," Mai notes hoarsely, "But that doesn't really answer the question of 'what are we supposed to do now'?"

Yuna's attempt at (mostly) gently removing herself and her belongings from the situation made the one with her panties skip away, diving between it's fellows and out of Yuna's reach. A cheerful squeaky noise came from one of them--specifically, the one they'd chased here. It twirled the panties and bras it had stolen over it's head before swallowing it--an action repeated by the rest.

As if on que, all of the little Orphans jump into the air and dive down towards the girl's position. Mikoto lets out a sharp snarl as she kicks both Yuna and Maya away from them, and Mai lets out a yelp as Mikoto's violent movements push her away, making her stumble and fall. As soon as the Orphans start touching, they begin to melt together, quickly forming a quivering mass that grew over the trees, high into the air--a much bigger, far uglier version of the creature they'd been chasing tonight. It appears Yuna was right on the money! And now that it's gotten it's full form, its fingers stretch out, impossibly long, aiming to snag Maya and Yuna.
Maya Maya has had bad days before she's just staring at this thing . She's kicked away thankfully but her good luck ends there as sh regain her balance she looks up eyes going wide nad has fumbled her fate deck. The huge long finger reach out and succfully snag maya restining h3er in a way she's got trouble going for her knife.

"LET GO OF ME!"
Yuna Kagurazaka "Eh?!" Yuna stares. "They're ... wha - KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! DON'T TOUCH ME!!!"

She DOES still have a sword in her hands, after all, and as the merged Orphan reaches for her, Yuna lashes out with it, slashing repeatedly at the overly elongated hand that's reaching for her. Or, well ... let's be honest, it's at least half flailing, but it's flailing with a very sharp object and in a specific manner.
Mai Tokiha     High above them, the Orphan lets out a triumphant bellow as it took Maya into it's grasp. The elongated fingers twist and writhe around her as she's pulled up towards the creature, binding ever more tightly the longer she remains in it's grasp. It wasn't long until her arms and legs are immobile. Yuna's sword cuts through the fingers as they come, causing them to draw back, but it hardly seems like it's phasing the creature. It's fingers keep growing out and charging her, creeping around to try and find a weak spot.

Mai was still dazed from falling over with Mikoto on top of her, so she's left staring up at the creature while she tries to catch her breath. Mikoto was still just as fresh as she started. With a yell, the little middle schooler charges and leaps impressively high. Miroku's black blade parts the flesh holding up Maya easily, though Maya's probably in for a rough landing.

High in the trees, Nagi was scowling as he watched the display. The outsiders had come again. He ponders going in and dealing with this personally, but angry women with weapons were scary, right? "I suppose we'll just have to lay off for now. Until the time comes. Seriously, as if it wasn't hard enough to deal with those Searrs fools sneaking around..."
Yuna Kagurazaka While Yuna is being atypically aggresive with her sword, she's also sufficiently freaked out to succumb to a measure of tunnel vision. If the Orphan wants a weak spot, it just has to sneak some tendrils around behind her before she can turn around to lop them off again. Simple and straightforward, right?

... at least up until she gets snared. If the Orphan's clever enough to bind her arms so she CAN'T swing her sword, she's basically reduced to squirming and kicking - and the kicking probably doesn't last much longer than it takes to wrap her legs up.

On the plus side, some of the armored parts of the Light Suit are situated to cut down ion revealing views - and frankly, even if the Orphan tries to break through, the battlesuit DOES project a defensive aura around Yuna's body. That aura becmomes more visible with the application of hostile force against it, so there will be flaring and crackling between tendrils and 'armor' to prevent the former from getting a terribly good grip.
Maya Maya is held in the things graps she's pulled towards the creature she doens't like where this is going. Maya struggles trying to get lose and thankfully Tuna comes in and hacks it free with help from Mikoto and she hits the ground quite hard. She hits the ground very hard She's getting up and pulling herself free of the remains of the things holing her inplace. She now grabs one of her cards and channels a bolt of focused water at the thing.

"YOU DISGUSING HORRIBLE THING!!"
Mai Tokiha     Deep in whatever brain it might have posessed, the Orphan is getting annoyed and angry. Two of the thing's fingers manage to wrap themselves around Yuna's legs from behind, jerking her feet roughly out from under her as started to wrap her up. Her shield was preventing it from squeezing her to death, but at least it can still drag her along. The bolt of water strikes the huge creature, penetrating a little bit into it's hyde, but it merely lets out an angry roar as it redoubles it's efforts to catch the women.

Mikoto stuck by Maya's side to help her fend off the tentacle-like appendages, but a quick glance over her shoulder shows Yuna's in trouble. Mikoto almost snarls and leaves to help, but Mai's voice cuts her off.

"Help Maya, Mikoto!" Mai pleads while she stands up. Her friends were in danger, just like Takumi was. How much would she lose if she didn't stand up here? With that thought, her arms spread wide. Sudden ringing sound fills the air as flames wrap around Mai's ankles and wrists, forming the gold and jade rings of her Element. The sound grows louder as Mai raises her hands--and a gout of incredibly hot fire flies from her hands, tearing through the fingers holding Yuna and making the place smell horribly of burning flesh. Like Maya before her, Yuna is unceremoniously dropped as it lets out a scream of hate and pain.
Maya Maya isn't liking that this thing os so hard after undergarment and now them. Seriously she's got to wonder about this thing. For now she hears Mai calling for help and she turns her head. She sees the elements form and she now making usre of fire, okay if fires on the menu Maya can do fire. Maya doesn't want to tip her hand to the locals who are watching so she doesn't summon Orubours no she just generates a pillar of fire trying to englush the panti theif and tentacle monster!
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna lets out a yelp as her legs get yanked out from under her; her sword actually vanishes, rather than her potentially landing on it when she goes down. Which is both good, because it avoids hurting herself, and bad, because now she's got no way of fighting off the monster's attempt to ensnare her for whatever purpose ...

Thankfully, Mai's intervention ensures that Yuna doesn't remain ensnared long enough for the Orphan's purpose to become apparent. Yuna lies on the ground where she landed for a moment, then rolls onto her back, manifests the Matrix Divider, the sword/rifle hybrid which serves as her mainstay weapon, and just starts shooting the Orphan's main body, blasting repeatedly at it.
Mai Tokiha     The tide was quickly turning against the Orphan at this rate. Fire made sure that the parts that were lost wouldn't regrow so quickly, and the smell of burning meat becomes yet more pronounced as the giant creature's flesh begins to char and blacken. Several holes appear as the Matrix Divider does it's work. For now, it's attacks are slacking off as the Orphan takes more damage.

Mikoto charges the creature once it's clear that it's been weakened. Miroku bites deep into one of the creature's legs, nearly severing it. With a pained squeal, the Orphan begins to list to the right.

Despite the apparent near death of this creature, Mai's had enough. "Kagutsuchi!" She cries out into the air. Almost immediately, a whale-like bellow responds. Behind Mai, a huge tornado of fire has formed, gathering together until Mai's Child is revealed. As soon as he appears, his mouth gapes open as the turbines on his back begin to spin. A glowing, molten ball of fire forms in it's chest, slowly climbs up the dragon's throat, and is spat out into the sky towards the Orphan. The fireball punches through the Orphan and continues on, gleaming brightly until it finally gives a huge explosion, high into the sky.

The Orphan's body suddenly expands and explodes almost as soon as it's struck by the fire. Little shreds of fabric drift softly down from the sky--some of them on fire. Unfortunately, these happen to include poor Yuna and Maya's panties, that fall oh-so-daintily nearby them, smouldering.
