Kyra Hyral     In Alexander Academy, the pull of the Light Warriors is mighty. Thanks to Kamon Lionward, the Light Warriors was able to rent out what was normally one of the outdoor practice ranges for black magic this afternoon. The space looks like an Earthbender's dream with rocks and mounds of dirt spread unevenly over an area roughly the size of two tennis courts. The square-shaped arena is protected by high walls of stone on all sides and a big iron blast door serves as its only entrance and exit-barring those who can simply fly out. The walls are a good ten feet high and are ringed with small Barrier devices that emit Shell spells in case rogue magic flies a little too high.

The signs that the arena has been used are many. Cracks, craters, and scorch marks decorate the interior of the space.

For now, Kyra waits alone, setting up a few small cameras in the corners of the space so she can record the testing. None of the other Light Warriors are present, which is understandable between Kyra's Wild Magic and Red Saber's...Saberness.
Nero      Saber had received word that her Master wanted to see her. And so, like a good Servant, she crossed the Multiverse in record time to answer that call. Enterting Galianda, she made her way to Chocobo, and then to Alexander Academy. All in spirit form. After the nonsense of yesterday, it seemed like Kyra had wanted her to keep a low profile.

It wasn't an order from a Command Spell, but nonetheless, Saber saw no reason to refuse. Alas that the people of Galianda would be unable to bear witness to her glorious figure. But there would always be other times. Other places.

Eventually, the Servant arrived, fading into sight in the training arena in a shimmer of azure sparkles characteristic of Servants. "Greetings, Praetor! I have arrived as you have requested!" She spoke in her typical haughty manner. She stepped forward, a hand pressed against her chest, the other extended forward in a dramatic fashion, as if she were in the middle of a play.

"Have you finally decided that now was the time for you to bear witness to my awe inspiring techniques?" Saber chuckled. "Mhhmhm! It is no surprise! If I were anyone else looking at me, I would want to witness it as well!" She smiled cheerfully and came to a stop. "But for you, Praetor, I will not demand praise and reverence!"

     Yep, that was Saber.
Kyra Hyral     At least Saber hadn't been following her around in spirit form in class this time. Yikes.

Kyra looks up from adjusting one of the cameras to the now-familiar figure and manages something of a grin. Sure, the argument from last night was still on her mind but part of her was still excited at the prospect of /experimenting/ with her Wild Magic. And although overbaring, the confidence that Saber displayed in herself...Kyra couldn't help but find it a little charming.

She wouldn't dare admit this to anyone though.

"Why yes, yes I have! Though we also need to talk about some stuff too. But that will come later. I've set everything up to record this for study. Now..." she steps aside, gesturing to the arena with an open hand. "Let's get this show started."

    Kyra has no idea.
Nero      "Mm! Very good!" Saber nodded and stepped forward, willing Aestus Estus into her grasp. What was this other stuff though? Oh well. She would find out later.

"Now then, what should I do to start?" She looked left and right across the vacant arena, her eyes eventually settling onto a vague human sized rock. "Yes, that will do." She took a stance and reared back with her blade, a smirk on her face. Prana began to gather, and in response, Aestus Estus became cloaked in fla-

Wait, that's not fire! That's water? Why is it water!? "Here I go! Watch me, Praetor!" Not having noticed the total opposite change in her blade's properties, Saber dove forward. "Rosa Ichthys!" It was a high speed slash executed just before the chosen target and then continued past. The rock was partially cleaved into in the process. Normally the slash would have caused a burst of flame to erupt from the cut, but...

...What followed was instead a burst of water that promptly froze into a large ice cluster. Boy, that would have hurt if it were an actual person.

Saber however seemed...understandably confused. "H-Hold a moment." Finally noticing, she stared at the result, and then at her blade, which was still radiating...water. "This is not right!"
Kyra Hyral     Based on how Saber's acted so far, once she learns the exhibitionism involved in television and the internet? Kyra has a feeling that there will be lots of Saber selfies in the future. She'll show Saber the foorage later. "Just anything, like that fancy swordsmanship from last time. Or the fire. The arena has some protections up so feel free to unload /everything/. It's just us here so no danger of people figuring out who you really are."

She felt the tug on her magic particle reserve and did not resist. Standing back a respectable distance, she observes and, right away, picks up on the wrongness being drawn from her. "...huh. So now it's not just the white magic, then, it's the magic particles passing through me...?" she reasons, looking confused and worried. "You don't command water or ice, do you? I suspect that might be an effect of the Wild Magic. It's still effective, though."

Kyra gestures at the savaged, frozen rock.

"Hell, I'm surprised it wasn't lightning, being a child of Ramuh and all. Keep going, Saber, I wanna see what else happens!"
Nero      "I do not command water or ice! My blade channels only the flames of passion that permeate through my soul!"

     Dramatic much?

Saber huffed and stared at her sword once more before taking another stance. She closed her eyes, focusing Prana again. This time, something happened without her being able to act at all!

Sparks of electricity spiderwebbed outwards across the arena, causing the Servan to open her eyes in surprise. An explosion of light followed, and in that moment, what seemed to be...A giant, purple phantom. It looked to be in the shape of a horse. One with a single, bladed horn atop it's head, and a pair of gleaming white eyes. It looked...incomplete though. A mere shadow of what it should have been. "W-What manner of devilry is this!?" Saber demanded, taking a step back in shock. Was this some kind of advanced lightning spell? The phantom neighed and rose up as a massive burst of chain lightning erupted from it's horn.

The spell dispersed after ravaging the arena with a cluster of electricity, leaving a stark silence in it's wake.

"......." Saber woodenly turned her head to stare at Kyra while pointing toward the general direction of what just happened. "Praetor...if I might ask-"
Kyra Hyral     "Well tonight you do! Thanks to the MP!" Kyra calls back, not all all miffed but instead very amused by the effects. Though in spite of this, Kyra takes a step backwards just to be safe.

Good thing too. She was not expecting what happened next. Kyra's eyes widen, "I have no idea what that is!" she calls out, "Maybe a subspecies of Nightmare! But it's too large...maybe a Calling effect? Or a Beastmaster's monster..? Maybe Necromancy?" She puzzles through this, taking refuge behind a crumbled section of what was probably a former wall of the arena.

She peeks her head over to see Saber staring at her. Kyra flushes with embarassment, "Ask what, Saber?"
Nero      "-WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR PRANA!?"

Saber pointed at Kyra, her other arm, which was holding Aestus Estus, flailing comically. "It fluctuates in and out of control and produces the most mind bogglingly random effects!" She calmed down on the flailing then, huffing heavily. "Have you...have you blown up your allies in the past? I have a vague feeling that you have, Praetor."

Pouting, Saber stuck Astus Estus into the ground before her and crossed her arms.

A sigh followed and she looked off. "Shall I attempt my Noble Phantasm? I fear for what make come out instead."

     It was Kyra's call.
Kyra Hyral     "There's nothing wrong with my prana! Or magic particles! It's the fact that it has to go through /me/, okay? It's me creating these effects and yes, yes I /have/ blown up my friends in the past." Kyra looks even more flustered. She seems like she's done worse than just blow people up but there's no indications that she'll continue elaborating.

She's silent for a long time, allowing her shame to fade. "Yeah, let's see your Noble Phantasm. I know it's risky but I want to know what the magic particle drain of one is going to feel like so I'm not surprised. Hopefully it'll work as intended?"

If anything, she's willing to take risks?
Nero      "....."

Saber stared at Kyra, eyes narrowed in suspicion.

But a moment after, she smirked and shrugged her shoulders. "Wery well! It is not as if something as silly as this would impede my glorious ability on the battlefield."

     But it just did.

She grasped the handle of her sword and pulled it from the ground. "In respect for your willingness to forge a path into the unknown..." She raised her sword to the sky. "...I will deploy my Noble Phantasm! Watch, and be amazed!"

The Servant reversed the grip on Aestus Estus and decisively stabbed it into the ground. "Heed my voice and bear witness to my radiance!" She turned the blade, as if turning a key in a lock. Prana particles flared to life rapidly, pulling at Kyra's reserves at a startlingly fast rate. White cracks began to appear along the ground, spreading further and further until...!

     "Rise! Aestus Domus Aurea!"

...There was a massive eruption of water, as if a tidal wave had just struck, and from within, a huge orca burst out, arcing into the air before splashing back into the water.

Whatever that was supposed to be, it receded soon after, leaving behind the arena as it were.

     "........."

Saber slowly turned her head, looking back as the last bits of the tidal wave vanished into nothing.

And then she turned to look at Kyra.

"...W-Well! I knew that would happen! Ah ha ha ha!"

     Obvious coverup was obvious.
Kyra Hyral     "No, clearly not. You strike me as someone who can improvise as needed." Kyra mollifies, emerging from behind the wall. She crosses her arms over her chest and nods again, "Yeah, let's see it. I'm pretty curious as to what your huge flashy attack looks like! And, uh, how revealing it's going to be."

She waits, then her eyes widen as she feels the draw. It's not unlike that one time she accidentally Summoned Doomtrain, she realizes. Maybe even a tad more. The drain happens far faster too. "Wow, I can feel it..." But pulled through the white mage, the magic particles are inevitably corrupted. Kyra can even feel this a little bit so when more water arises, well...

Kyra's already suspicious. Saber's comments earlier about being filled with the flames of passion means water-based magic is unsual for her. But at least for Saber's credit, after the effect, Kyra does look suitably impressed.

"Bravo." she says, applauding. "I bet the killer whale would have smashed someone if that was actually being used as an attack." Only now does she venture closer to Saber. "I'll be honest, though, I'm working on controlling it better but the whole Wild Magic thing hasn't gotten better in a while."
Nero      Saber slumped her shoulders.

Of course it was too good to be true that she'd just HAPPEN to find a Master that had a huge amount of Prana just sitting there, available to use willy nilly. No way. It had to be corrupted.

     Such a shame.

But Saber, being Saber recovered in record time and straightened back up. "Mm! Well, no matter! I will work with what I have before me! What comes later is not something to dwell on now!" Maybe that's why she was ousted as Emperor and driven to suicide.

     But nevermind that.

Saber dispersed Aestus Estus, no longer needing it for now, and crossed her arms. "Come what may, I have faith in your eventual recover, Praetor!" On what basis? "Have no fear! If I say it will come to pass, then it will come to pass!" ...On what basis?

She recalled something from earlier then. "Oh yes. You wished to speak with me about something else, Praetor?"
Kyra Hyral     Just seeing her body language there for a moment, Kyra can tell that Saber is obviously disappointed. "It doesn't happen /all/ the time. Like it was fine during your fight with Avenger. It's only an occasional thing." Though it hardly feels 'ccasional' to Kyra. She doesn't mention that part, which would have clearly made Saber feel even more disappointed.

"Yes." she agrees, glad to at least have the 'optimism' of the Servant in that moment. Maybe things will work themselves out and Kyra will be able to control her magic particles.

"Yeaaah, about that. The whole radio thing. I know you're all into aspiring to conquer the multiverse and take everyone you speak to under your wings as your subjects. But talking about it all the time on the radio is really, really annoying people. There's considerations put into taking away access. So could you tone that down? It's barely been a week, but your reputation is spreading, so I don't think you'll need to go on about how lucky people are to bask in your radiance anyway. They already know."
Nero      Saber pouted and put her hands on her hips.

"Take away access? /From me/?" She asked incredulously, as if such a thing could never, ever happen. "Ha! Ah ha ha ha! Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha!" And then she burst out laughing raucously. "What nonsense! I cannot be excluded from anything! For I am me!"

     Welp.

Saber spread her arms after that, smiling happily. "It is good that my reputation is spreading! Let all those who come to bear witness to my form, and hear my divine voice tremble with glee at the opportunity! They are all being done a grand service!"

...Either she didn't get the point, or she was just so confident in herself that it blurred what should be reality.

No wonder people are so annoyed at her.
Kyra Hyral     "Yes, from you. Even from you." Kyra says seriously before holding up her phone, "People can do all sorts of stuff to these devices, Saber, including mute them from afar and kick you off channels. I've seen in happen to people that have gotten too obnoxious online." Then Saber bursts into laughter.

"They will kick you, Saber. Or worse, bar you from a whole world. I seriously don't want that to happen. I seriously don't want to see your freedom limited! But at this rate, you are driving people nuts and they won't bask in your greatness. They'll rise up and revolt against you and then it'll be really ugly."

She clasps her hands together. "So pleaaaase turn down the arrogance on the radio? Pleaaaase?"
Nero      Saber closed her eyes as Kyra's chiding words bombarded her. "....." And then it came to pleading.

     Gah!

No not the pleading! Anything but the pleading!

As if struggling, Saber's expression became a bit more difficult, and she opened one eye to look at her Master.

"...V-Very well! If my Praetor wishes it, then I will attempt to be more...understanding of the common man when speaking through the mPhone."

SECRET MISSION CLEARED: Convince Saber without using a Command Spell

     Wait that was a mission?
Kyra Hyral     Now /that/ was an interesting bit of information that Kyra files away in the back of her mind. She didn't want to use a command seal to foster an attitude adjustment-it felt like mind control. She didn't want to raise her voice at Saber either because she respected Saber. Trying to explain how something was favored, though, appears to be the better route.

In that moment of silence while Saber considers what to do, Kyra pulls out her bottom lip a little more and looks extra sad. She didn't know if it would help but-

    Bingo.

Inwardly, she feels relieved. "Thank you." she sighs. "Good. Good, that way we won't have to worry about getting taken away from each other."
Nero      "T-Taken away from each other?" Saber repeated, arching a brow lightly. "That is impossible! The magic of a Command Spell is not so easily overridden." And immediately after agreeing, she reverted back to her proud, haughty self. Nothing kept this one down very long, huh?

"If you were to simply command me to return to your side, then no border or obstacle would prevent me from appearing!" She raised a hand, index finger extended. "If you were to command me to fly and destroy a distant enemy, the Command will empower me to do just that!"

Her middle finger is extended next. "If you command me to win a battle, then I will be empowered greatly, allowing me to engage my opponents with even greater vigor! Such is the power of a Command Spell!"

     All of that said however...

"...Must I apologize to those people?"

Right, there is that, isn't there? She didn't sound too eager to do that. She's never wrong after all!

     Of course.
Kyra Hyral "It's true. There are ways around them. Even worse, there are ways that would make me use a command spell and I would have to use up /all/ of them to prevent us from being separated. I don't want that to happen. Like I said earlier. this is far too early in the game for us to part ways already!"

Though she did appreciate the reminder of what the command spells were capable of, such as the temporary boost in combat abilities. That one sounded useful.

Kyra's quiet for a moment. An apology? "It would help." Kyra admits. "It would help, I think restore some of their favorability towards you. Honestly, a benevolent leader is more readily accepted than one that isn't. So It can't hurt. Brownie points never hurt. But if you didn't and just adjusted what I said earlier even that would be appreciated."
Nero      "......"

Saber frowned, but nodded all the same.

"Very well! I will..." Pause. "...offer a form of consolation!" Was that an apology? It didn't sound like it was going to be. Either way, she turned to survey the arena. "Well, while I was not able to show you what I am actually capable of, we have made progress on certain fronts."

The Servant turned back to her Master. "I will take my leave now. If you have need of my presence, you need only call for me." And with that, she shimmered out of sight, fading into magic particles.

...Was she really going to apologize?
