Kotone Yamakawa Kotone had dug up some shipping information with the help of Rory and Zwei after crunching the informationt it was the best lead on where the girl they'd found. It was the best lead to the likely human trafficers that the girl had come from. Searched had turned up no ID as of yet on the young lady, but the odds were high she was a refugee or from the still messed up parts of Asia somewhere.

Things had taken Alexis Maaka to the northern part of Japan's holdings two old islands that belonged to the Russians before the third world war and had been seeded to Japan in exchange for aid post war era.

There was a major known as Bertarve, and it fallen to crime. The majority of cops are dirty or too damn afraid to stick their noses into certain things. Given the groups such as the Russian Mafia operating out of the crime ridden city, this place has become a haven for criminal elements the world over.

Aleix would have a lead not to the docks but to what was once an indusital park back in WWIII which has now become almost a shantie town, though even though this is Japan? People of Asian hertiage are not the msot common here, by far most people are of Russian roots in this city who chose to remain here when the island flipped to Japanese Control. The shipping list lead back to this region of the city and that's where things went cold.
Alexis Maaka     It was best Alexis came here alone. She did her best work alone whne it came to investigations of this sort. No distractions, nobody messing up the investigation scenes, that sort of thing. With help from Kotone, Zwei, and Rory, she'd gotten some names and places to start searching in-person, which was good enough for her.

[Haven't had the chance to deal with the Russian mob in a while, huh Alex?] Kaz says over neural-CODEC, posted aboard the Spectre in-atmo with enough jamming fields to avoid suspiscion from local surveilance as they hang about.

[Ain't the same Russians, Kaz, but you're right. If Akula's lot were any indication, we're gonna get involved in something nasty. There's a chance a lot of the civvies here are either beoviks or shit-scared of crossing the mob enough to do whatever they're told to. Might be trouble waiting for us.]

Alexis approaches the shanty town, eyes narrowed as she begins to make her entrance to town limits. Her grasp of the Russian language serves her well as she listens to the locals, overhearing anything that they speak in the hopes of picking up some free intel while Kaz handles the cyber-intel gathering, hacking local security networks and communications logs regarding the trafficking of live cargo.
Kotone Yamakawa Alexis had some leads but the question was just how much control did the mob have here? Given how chaotic the city was. Given there was crime openly in the streets in some places here. So far the local data net would be quiet if Alexis or Kaz were watching. After all people from the multiverse were not uncommon in this city given it's black market. Alexis would hear mostly chatter about day to day affairs, apprently someone's getting married and sounds like they are leaving this place somehow. Generally normal chatter though there's few more shifty worts watching and some do take notice of Alexis.

A Young man pops up soon at her.

"Your new around here, you looking to shop?"

Meanwhile Kaz would find the local net is alive there's pirateed brodcasts of various sorts, but noen related to things there is live cargo on the listing but a lot of it may just be legit moving of live animals of various sorts he might need a moment to sift through it all.
Alexis Maaka     "Window shopping." Alexis answers cooly, her smile catlike as she focuses her eyes at the man addressing her. "I'm here on business for my client. He has very specific needs regarding products and their delivery from one place to the other."

She knows what she's doing, and playing it cool for the moment might be helpful for getting her closer to an answer she's looking for. Live animal shipments isn't a shock to the cyborg. She knows of NGOs back home handling the preservation of endangered animal breeds, even trying to boost their populations with cloning technology and such, but that's not why she's here.

"How much do they offer for 'exotic cargo' by chance?" That's right, keep him talking. Meanwhile Kaz will see if this guy has anything nice to sift through, assuming he has any cybernetics in his head containing information regarding the trade, or if he's just some nosy local.
Kotone Yamakawa The man looks to Alexis and nods a little bit.

"Exotic this is the city for exotic things, I got leads on Megatech hardware for example if your curious about exotic cyberware. As for in general? It tends to pay well but it's too dangerous for my liking to be honest. You looking for inporting animals for a private collector?"

The guy seems to be small time from what Kaz can find he deals in mostly lifted cyberware but he tends to be in good with the local big dogs as he will supply anyone with cyberware so long as they pay in cash and he actually seems to screen for lemonhardware, which might be why he's still breathing.
Alexis Maaka     "Yeah. He's got specific tastes, more or less. Not a fan of those artificial doll-types you can order from a cybernetics supplier." Alexis nods, letting Kaz feed her more and more intel. "Any chance you might know who and where to go to for that sort of thing? I'm kinda in a rush at the moment." She adds, arms folded as she and the guy small-talk some more.
Kotone Yamakawa the Man looks to Alexis for a moment.

"Oh too bad I got a few nice models."

He pauses looking concerned for a moment as his tone drops a bit.

"Look it's bad business to deal in that, sides someone like you might get snatched up herself if your not careful. I can't help you there I'm afraid."

Is it some last gasp of having a sense of right and wrong on this guy's part or does he know some people asking about might have ill intent to the local traders it's impossible to tell but doesn't seem keen on the business. Still though his response does seme to show there may be such an operation in the area.
Alexis Maaka     "Like me?" Alexis just glances sidelong at the guy, smirking confidently. "Please. Nobody's going after me. I'm not some ninety-pound waif, obviously." She opens up her coat, where her Kama pistol is holstered at her hip. It's a sizable enough piece that she'd give quite an impression just having it on her.

In any case, she begins to walk off, while still keeping the guy in earshot as she says, "I'll just take my business somewhere else. Bet I can find something much nicer just down the street...~" That's right, keep dangling that carrot in front of his nose.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks at Alexis for a moment sizing her up.

"Not for that, but for your hardware. I know a cyborg when I see one it's my job, just some free advice to you."

He looks at Alexis as she starts getting ready leave he shak4es his head and sighs.

"It's an ungly bussiness. You really ... want to find them? I'm not used to sticking my neck out like this...."

Ah he seems to be weakening a bit but it seems he doesn't want to give up what he knows for free.
Alexis Maaka     Alexis just produces a handful of local yen, "It's yours if you direct me in the right direction. The concern's touching, but it's not your business to worry for my safety." She says cooly, turning around with money in hand. Close inspection will reveal the amount is pretty damn generous of this mysterious mercenary.

Two-bit cyberjackers don't scare Alexis, she scares /them./ If there is trouble, she'll bring the roof down on their heads if she has to.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Fine but don't say I didn't warn you and be respectful to these guys an unknown like you? Ya I'm not going to complain about the money though."

HE takes it and will gives her the direciotns it seems to be in core of the town form the sounds of it. He looks to Alexis one more time.

"If that be all I best be on my way."
Alexis Maaka     "Right." Alexis sends the guy off, before she begins to head thataways, continuing down the streets with hands tucked in her coat pockets.

All the while she logs the information and begins to compile a report.

[That it? I don't think we oughta go into this on our own.]
[We'll take a look around from the outside, then bug out before we get too much heat on us. I don't like the odds of me not coming back out of there, we're better off going in with backup if we're gonna play investigators.]
[Yeah, good idea. I'll keep sniffing around for communications or any sort of sales going down regarding 'exotic specimens' and 'rare quality cyberware.']

Stopping just outside the designated place, Alexis begins to scan for anybody up front, trying to see who's coming in and who's coming out, scanning for vantage points snipers and security cameras might be posted, and looking for any good entrances to slip in unnotice.
Kotone Yamakawa IT wont' take long fgor Alexis to get there people seem active about it comming nad going and for what it's woryth it seems they done a good job of either buying off or strong armying the locals as no one really seems put off about Alexis, if she's noticed whose to say given how wired up this world is wht is clear there's a building it's a bit in better repair than some of the others about it an a hulking bear of a man with heavy visable agumenbation is sitting by the font door reading a magzine of some sort as he does so. Most people tend to not bother him save one man which appears to be a food delivery guy. The hulking brute takes the food and pays the man who soon departs, KAz on the other hand would start picking up things in the network it's locked down hard not the sort of thing you'd expect in a slum, there's commings and goings and there's also signs of there being a loading dock as the building has several spots for cargo trucks to come and go.
Alexis Maaka     Snapping pictures here and there, Alexis begins to take note of the big guy, as well as the food vendor as well as the pictures of cargo trucks Kaz sends over. This might be a bit too big to hit without getting overwhelmed and curpstomped eventually for Alexis, but she has backup for this sort of thing.

[Get the ship ready, Kaz. We'll be back.]

Once she finds a quiet hiding spot, she activates the teleportation beacon before disappearing into a flash of light, returning to her ship.
