Garnet     It had been a few days since the raid on the Kindergarten and the capture of Peridot. The bubble containing her floated amongst the others in the temples 'basement' as Steven referred to it. Garnet had allowed such time to pass to mainly see if Jasper, Lapis, and that other thing that'd helped the Homeworld's during the raid would show up to try and rescue her. Enough time had passed though that it was time to start getting what she knew about the Cluster out of her before such a rescue attempt began.

The Crystal Gem leader went down into the temple and found the bubble belonging to Peridot, taking it she left the temple, making sure the door sealed behind her she allowed the bubble to float in the middle of the room while she prepared it for the discussion with the Homeworld Gem.

First she moved the couch so it sat in front of the door barring that exit. Closed the blinds on the windows so as not encourage Peridot's attempts to escape that way, took a moment to look around before setting the coil of rope down on the floor for a moment, she walked over to the bathroom door closed it and shoved a chair in front of it it would've been pain if the Gem had fled in there. Satisfied Garnet hurls one end of the rope up into the rafters and gets it ready for its purpose.

With the preparation done she takes the bubble stands on the warp pad acting as a living barrier there and pops it letting the Gem inside go to either drop or recompose its form as it wanted...Garnet was ready and waiting for either case.
Peridot     Peridot's gem clatters to the floor initially. For a few moments it simply laid there doing nothing, until a green glow enveloped it. It began to rise into the air, spinning slowly. A large green diamond formed first. The tell-tell mark of Peridot's hair. Then her physical form began to incorporate and expand. Though, without her limb enhancers, the gem was far smaller than the others were likely accustomed to.

The glow faded, leaving Peridot in a kneeling position, staring off ahead of her. "...stabbed me." she said, finishing a sentence she started days ago.

She blinked. The last thing she had seen was Pearl. But now, a strange new setting filled her vision. She looked down and suddenly grasped at her own chest, where the spear had once impaled her. Though she didn't see the gaping wound she expected. Nor did she see her mechanical fingers. Her gaze shifted from her chest, to her hand. "My.. hands!" She proclaimed in alarm.

She then looked around, which is when she spied Garnet, standing on the Warp pad. "..Ah!" She could see she had more immediate problems than her missing limb enhancers. "J-Jasper! Help!" She called out, looking left and right. "Jasper!?" She called again, looking for a console, a holopad- anything she could use to contact her body guard. It took her a moment to even realize she wasn't even on her ship. But as the realization sunk in, she took a single step back from Garnet. "..AHH!" She didn't know where to run, disoriented as she was. But, she started by putting some distance between her and Garnet, running up the steps towards Steven's bed. "Somebody help!"
Garnet     There was a brief moment when Garnet believed that the preparation had been uneccessary and that Peridot wasn't ready to remanifest yet. She'd taken half a step forward to collect the gem on the ground before Peridot started to reform. Thus she took up a wainting stance on the warp pad watching as the noticibly smaller Gem came to her senses.

There was the slow freak out as Peridot registered that she was missing her attachments and saw Garnet standing there then calling for Jasper as she started to make for Steven's bedroom, "She's not here." Garnet starts saying to Peridot, "You can't get away, there won't be any help coming." She isn't cruel or threatening with how she says it, more deadpan and a statement of fact than anything else.

Though it is clear that Peridot is panicking too much to pay attention to her words so she looks around spots a small rubber ball of Steven's on the coffee table. Stepping over she picks it up and hurls it at where Peridot is running to, "Stop that and come here!" Garnet orders forcefully to cut through the blind panic of the other Gem.
Peridot     Peridot is pegged by the rubber ball up side of her head! It does get her attention, and refocuses her but it does very little to calm her down. "Where am I!?" She barks back, her eyes darting around like a rabid animal. She wanted to take in her environment more closely, but she was having a difficult time peeling her eyes off Garnet. Having a fusion in the room was like having a walking plasma turret that was constantly tracking your every step.

"What did you do to me!?" She went on with an accusing stare. "Did you put me in a bubble?" She began reaching for anything within reach to use as a weapon. She started by throwing an assortment of DVD cases, followed by a gamecube, with the controller still attached. Then she jumped up onto Steven's bed and grabbed the closest thing she could find. A pillow.

She brandished the pillow menacingly at Garnet. Beads of sweat rolled down her face. "What's your end game!?"
Garnet     For her part, Garnet remains absolutely calm in the face of the angry little Gem's antics. "The beach house. You've been here before with Lapis Lazuli." She pauses for a moment, "And flooded it." That unlike the rest was tinged with a bit of aggrivation. She slowly begins to approach, though it is slow and she's not upset some might liken it to a bigger animal stalking a smaller one or a slasher from a movie slinking up on their victim.

"We poofed you and put you in a bubble." Garnet admits and confirms. As the objects start hitting her the tall Gem takes them as they have relatively little force behind them, a couple DVD cases lodge themselves in her hair, while she catches the others as they hit her to set down on the floor and she catches the gamecube with one hand before setting it on the floor...Pearl will have something to do tomorrow!

She walks up the stairs methodically unintimidated by the pillow threat. Garnet shakes her head, "One way or another you're telling me all I want to know about the Cluster." She emphasises this point by summoning her gauntlets and making fists as if to say hit me with the soft fluffy thing and you will feel my gauntlets in return. "Now are you going to behave or do I have to get tough?" The last word sees her take a mock combat stance as she continues to close with Peridot.
Peridot     Peridot grimaces. Now that she had taken a moment to try and decipher the situation. It occurred to her that she had indeed been here once before. Granted, she had been in a state of high alert on that visit as well. The trauma of being stabbed in the chest, and transported has taken its toll. As Garnet closes in on her, Peridot gulps and takes a step back, falling off the other side of the bed with a thump. She raises once more, she quickly figured out the pillow was not a viable weapon. She shifted her hold on it, creating a makeshift barrier between herself and Garnet.

"So it's torture then is it?" She asked, her eyes narrowed. "And then what happens when  you get the intel you so desperately desire? Shatter me?  or put me back in a bubble?"

She took another step, until her back pressed into the wall. "Shattering, I should think. That's about all the foresight that a permafusion would think to do. Why should I tell you anything!?"
Garnet     Garnet takes her time climbing the steps, there's no hurry Peridot wasn't going anywhere. As she crested the stairs though the little Gem fell of the bed in her terror and was holding up a little pillow as though it would somehow ward off the powerhouse that was Garnet. If she'd been in a different mood or someone drew her attention to it, she might even think the gesture was cute. Unfortunately she just saw it as futile resistance.

"Yes." There is no hiding it and no denying it this is what it was going to be and then she is accussed of being heartless and disparaged as a 'permafusion'. "That can be arranged." She grimaces while looming over the pillow shieled Peridot.

She sighs, "But that isn't what will happen, the worst we'll do is bubble you." She adjusts her visor glasses, "If you cooperate we'll even let you go when we're done." That said however, she launches her hand down to try and grab the little lime gremlin by the arm and haul her up and away suspended in the air.
Peridot     Peridot isn't nearly fast enough to prevent herself from being grabbed at this range. She is lifted into the air by her arm, dropping the pillow. "Ow!" She yelps, and starts kicking at Garnet's ribs. "Unhand me sod clumps!" Her kicks, while swift, didn't pack very much power behind them. Perhaps they could do damage to someone of Steven's statue, but likely did very little to harm Garnet.

"Why would you choose to let me go?" She asked, between kicks. "I'm the biggest threat to you and your cronies on this entire planet! I'm one of the few who know what you really are. When I point at something, Jasper and Lazuli destroy it!"

"I'm the beacon that Homeworld will follow back to this planet and bend it to our rule." She misses one of her kicks, sending her body into a half-spin before the torsion on her arm snaps her back into place. "Ow ow ow!" She grabbed her wrist with her free hand. Her teeth grit. "You must think I'm really stupid, to believe you'd make a tactical blunder like that."
Garnet     Garnet starts to carry the little Gem back towards the stairs and the ground floor where the rope was waiting. As she is kicked Garnet has the politeness to let out a deadpan, "Ow...ow...ow." Maybe just maybe Peridot was actually doing some serious damage and she was /way/ stronger than she ever realized!!! Probably not but you never know!

The ridicule of calling her a clod though gets a swift shake of Peridot's arm. Though as she asks why, "Tactical blunder?" Garnet stops moving towards the rope and just lets Peridot hang there, "Isn't it more of a tactical blunder to tell your capture their 'mistakes'?" She pulls Peridot up so they can see one another visor to visor, "Homeworld is lost, it could be found tomorrow or 100,000 years from now and if you think they can take this world from the people here already then you've not been paying attention. This is a place where there are humans that can control minerals with their will alone do you think it is not a 'tactical blunder' to go to war with people like that because you believe Gemkind is superior?" She gives Peridot another shake, "You, Jasper, and Lapis are threats to myself and the other Crystal Gems that's true, but we've spent 5000 years fighting others of our kind and you three barely understand the world you're trapped on I'll bet on experience winning out over luck in the end." Another shake, "But the biggest reason I'm offering this is it's the best way to make you cooperate."

There is no shake this time but she continues to the rope as she lets Peridot hang in the air again, "If this thing is dangerous like you say in the report we stole and you can't control it, would you rather fight us and it or work together to stop it before it becomes a big problem for both of us?" She lets her think that over as she grabs the rope and readies it to tie the Gem in the air.
Peridot     "It's not a blunder! I'm telling you that I can see through your flimsy promise!" She retorts. Though she is vigorously shaken by her arm, she could feel the tension in her socket straining. Though gem bodies were replaceable, the process was rather demanding, and a dislocated shoulder wouldn't cause her form to release, it would just hurt for a long time.

At this point, it felt more like an attack on her pride. Her loyalty to Homeworld. Peridot enjoyed her status with her home planet, but it only meant something if her Home planet was something to be feared.

But the comment about them not finding Homeworld for thousands of years stung the most. Not because they'd be out of contact that long, but it reminded her of another hypothesis. One that was far more grim than either of those scenarios that Peridot herself had put in the Crystal gems heads. But, she pushed the thought away.

She was scared. Garnet had established some ground rules that made little sense to her, which did serve to ease the worst of her fears. Shattering her was off the table? It was a blow to her ego, but she supposed the fact that they viewed her as less of a threat than she actually was, would work in her favor.

Her mind worked in overtime as she put all the pieces together. She suddenly grins. "... You might have me a prisoner, but you need me more than we need you- you dirt bomb." Her eyes narrowed. "Yeah. We know where your base is. Soon Jasper is going to show up, with Lazuli and the Warship. Then we'll see if you still want to dismiss the might of Homeworld when it shows up on your doorstep again. You got lucky last time you broke the warship up. I'd love to see if you can do it again."

"They'll get me back, and then I'll just sit back and let the cluster wreck your day! I didn't want to. I didn't want to lose the salvageable ancient gem tech. But unlike you, I don't make a habit of underestimating my foes. Maybe you've convinced me that you're worth destroying part of the planet for!"
Garnet     Of course the little toad would puff up and try to be big and bad if she was reasonable, it was so clear to Garnet now that she'd have to stop being nice and reasonable and put some absolute terror into the annoying Gem. She starts putting the rope around Peridot's wrists and then tying them together tightly, she then hauls Peridot up by the scruff (her clothes) and starts winding the coils around her securing her bound wrists to about her waist level and then going upwards so she has as little give to move her arms and shoulders as possible.

While she works she talks, "We do need you, since we know nothing about the cluster." She then turns Peridot while she works to face towards the warp pad, "I won't shatter you, but I'll poof you in a second, bubble your Gem and be somewhere else in a second, I don't have to fight them right here or right now, but if it gets to that point you're more trouble than you're worth. I'll keep you bubbled somewhere secret where they have no hope of finding you without me, but close enough that when the Cluster shows up and it does the damage you say thousands of tons of stone will come crashing down on your bubbled Gem and you know what happens then..." She slams her foot into the floorboards to make a massive popping sound...

"There is a difference in our scenarios though." Garnet breaks the silence, "If you're not going to talk, why wait..." She reaches up and puts her still gauntleted hand on Peridot's tiny neck and beginst to apply pressure, "I won't shatter you but I won't save you when the Cluster starts wrecking things either, you can just wait inside your Gem knowing it will happen eventually and you can't stop it." Squeezing harder cutting off any air, as she spins Peridot back to the blinded windows, "Hear that? That's the sound of the ocean going about its business not controlled by Lapis, that's the light from outside without a Gem warship hanging over our heads, and that is the feeling of me crushing your neck poofing you right now. Let's see if they stop me in time before I forget where I put you!"

Peridot might have gone a little too far and made the fusion Gem very very cross with her and there is no one to reign in Garnet's temper or convince her to stop...
Peridot     Peridot struggled against the rope. Not entirely willing to let herself get tied up, but knowing her struggle was futile. She kicked her legs back and forth. Her flexed her shoulders as the rope tightened around them.

She couldn't hide the concern in her eyes as Garnet laid out her plan. She also couldn't think of an immediate reason why it wouldn't work. But, she had to think of something. She couldn't be branded a traitor. Her brows laid flat across her eyes as her mouth formed an uneven line.

"If you thi--ghkk-" She started to interrupt, to pluck some insult from the air in some form of defiance. Until Garnet's gauntlet closed around around her neck and choked off any sound she was going to make. While it was true gems didn't need to breath. Peridot preferred breathing when it was an available option. Not to mention having your wind pipe forcibly closed hurt, whether you needed oxygen or not. She clenched her eyes shut, as her eyes began to water. She opened her mouth to try and say something but nothing could come out.

She opens her eyes, her lips bared back to reveal her grit teeth. She regretted sending Lapis on that scouting mission. And, Jasper would be a welcome sight for a change. The water gathering around her eyes breaks the surface tension and the first one rolls down her cheek.

She tore her eyes away from the window and looking towards Garnet, her legs twitching. It seemed Garnet was successful in frightening her. Her face said it all,. but would it be enough? She could only make pained gasp while her throat was still being throttled.
Garnet     Garnet does indeed note the terror and fear she's elicited, she doesn't enjoy it but if Peridot was going to be difficult violence would always be the answer. It'd never failed the the tall Gem before...except that one time with Steven, but that was one time out of an entire lifetime she'd not be dissuaded. She squeezes right up until the moment she knows anymore and Peridot's neck would give in entirely, a gruesome skill from the already mentioned lifetime of fighting others of her kind.

She then releases just enough pressure to let the air flow and let Peridot talk again, "Or you can talk and keep me busy to buy them enough time to come and get you." It seems she was going to drive home the 'tactical blunder' comment Peridot had made against her.

While Peridot has a moment to recover, Garnet continues, "One insult...even one and you go into a dark hole for the rest of your life." There is a very dangerous edge to her voice as she says it right next to Peridot's ear.

She then straightens up and looks thoughtful, "You were willing to destroy it for the technology, what harm would it be to tell us? If worse comes to worse Yellow Diamond blames us for it, we take the risks of actually dealing with it, and you save the kindergarten." She shrugs, "If you don't then Kindergarten is gone, you're gone, we'll still try and destroy it on our own anyway it's somewhere underground after all." Garnet picked up the bit about the cluster beasts digging down in her report, "Do you think Jasper will manage in the multiverse all by herself before she gets poofed or shattered without you? It'll definitely be the end of Gemkind here for the foreseeable future."
Peridot     She goes into a coughing fit. Her eyes clenched shut, a few tear drops dripping from her face. The only thought going through her head was how much she was ill-suited for these physical encounters. She was no warrior gem. Not a Quartz, Jasper or Amethyst. She was a maintenance gem. An ascended technician with an increasingly important role in her society.

She continued coughing. But she hung on to every word. Unlike those other gems, she had a great capacity for listening.

She was clearly in pain. Her wind pipe being driven to the brink of being crushed completely. She would be hoarse for days.  She finally manages to inhale, a long ragged breath that results in another coughing fit. It more than the time she accidentally inhaled tea.

She was a bundle of nerves. Primal fear had swept her up. The temptation to give them all the information they wanted to make the pain stop. But there was also indignant rage. The inherent superiority of who she was, bred into her since she first emerged from the ground.
"St-phf.." She struggles to speak. It wasn't her only ace in the hole. But, it was one of her bargaining chips. The only one, she thought, that could actually buy her some time. To keep her out of a hole. "Stev-hk... Steven..." She manages in her scratchy voice. Barely above a whisper.

Through wet eyes, her brows furrowed. "Steven." She said again. "Put me.. in a hole... hkk.." She coughed. "And... and.. You'll.. never see Steven again."
Garnet     Garnet is quiet and motionless like a statue while Peridot collects herself for what she's going to say. The tall gem is thoughtful and reflective while the green Gem coughs and sputters. Did they really need to do this? Her report had told them a lot and they could figure out more with the Union's help and her future vision. But this was the easiest and quickest way, maybe she'd see reason this time.

There is no hesitation as the implied threat against Steven is made by Peridot, Garnet's shoulder twists back as she makes a fist and she pivots into a punch aimed square at Peridot's Gem. And for a moment it might seem to Peridot as though she is about to be shattered when Garnet's other hand reaches up and stops the first from completing the gem shattering punch. Garnet's features are twisted in rage for a moment before she takes a long deep calming breath and her arms go limp.

She's quiet for a very very long moment before she looks up again, "No, you weren't prepared for this, even if you have him Lapis would protect him at any cost. You're bluffing." She reaches up and gently taps Peridot's Gem, "Becareful I have a temper."

Garnet was very much at odds with herself at the moment so she reaches over to a counter and gets a roll of duct tape, "Think about it, I'm not going to give you more chances and I promise if you don't tell us about the Cluster that your among its first victims." She then tears off a strip to gag the green gem unless she speaks up with something useful.
Peridot     "You're wrong." She sputters out. "We have him, and I can prove it!" She shouts as the punch flies toward her. She flinches back as the fist is aimed at her gem! Her head turning to the side. Her legs curling up closer to her body. Slowly she opens her eyes, looking back forward.

"Don't think for a moment that Lapis can stop Jasper from extracting revenge- or think she too stupid enough to not use him.. -koff- as a hostage. Lazuli isn't even on the ship right now." She shrinks back as much as she can, her eyes clenched shut. She jumps as her gem is touched. "I'm the only one who knows.. -haghk- The only one who knows how to keep.. a biological human alive." She opens one eye slowly.

"Do you think Jasper did any research on it? Ask your union cronies. Ask.. the Sunstone. She attempted to thwart our raid on the cookie cat factory. The Steven said he needed them in order to survive. Can you see Jasper taking the time to see that half-breeds outside energy requirements without me there ordering her to do it?"

Her lips pursed, as she fought the urge to cough. "At least--. Untie me." She squints. "Untie me. I'll show you my proof. And then let me send a message. Give me space to move around, and in return I'll tell Jasper everything she needs to know so the Steven does not perish in his jail cell while I'm here."
Garnet     Garnet grits her teeth as if debating things internally before giving Peridot a grim but smug grin, "Lapis has her ways of dealing with Jasper, I've seen it before when the warship crashed into the beach." She shakes her head, "I doubt Jasper can do anything besides be aggressive and break things." The tall Gem makes light of the topic for a moment before she continues, "Jasper will get Lapis to come back she's a Warrior Gem she's preparing to attack this place with everything she has and Lapis will check on Steven and he can get her to get him what he needs." She then adds, "If you even have him." The tone does indicate she's thinks it's unlikely right now as she heard about the stunt Peridot had pulled while fighting Pearl and Toph.

Garnet then instantly puts her face into the palm of her gauntleted hand as she shakes her head, "Steven..." and sighs in frustration, "Have you been feeding him anything besides cookie cats? You didn't make him sick by only giving him cookie cats?" She shoves a finger into Peridot's side as she asks the bound Gem, "If you made him sick...NO." She jabs her finger into Peridot some more as another frustrated look crosses her features.

"Unless I can talk to Steven directly, I'm not going to believe you have him. Can you make that happen right now?" It seems that Garnet is calling Peridot's bluff, "If we can't then you can't prove anything to me."
Peridot     "I'm not letting you talk to him. Not without you making several concessions." She turns her nose up. "But I can still show you evidence. His game." She looked towards the broken gamecube. "It.. didn't look like that one. but I recognize the emblem." Beads of sweat rolled down her face. "Ask the giant machine. I've also raided buildings for such devices. He tricked me into thinking he also needed these video games to survive. I didn't care enough to verify his claims until it was too late."

"His screen name is Magical boy underscore 72." She goes on. "I know that because I used his... game to set a trap for the Sunstone after I discovered he was communicating with her while he was our prisoner."

"If you... use this planets primitive computer inter tube system, you will find time stamps.. scores associated with that profile. For.. for bubble frog." All of this sounded absurd coming out of Peridot's lips. The truth was, that she and Lapis had frequently played together once Peridot begrudgingly accepted the devices entertainment value after Lapis made several attempts to convince her to play.

Peridot was attempting to use occams razor in her favor. She knew how absurd it was that she played an online game, much less played it enough to gain standing in an online leaderboard. Much less one as silly sounding as bubble frog. But, Peridot had a basic understanding of what she was doing. Competing online against humans.

"The Steven wouldn't shut up about this frog and his gaming device. I can list off the specific days where I granted him play time. How else could I possibly know all that?"
Garnet     Garnet is not one to give concessions especially when that is the one that she demands as proof of a claim as Peridot babbles some of it does sound like Steven things and that is galling knowing she hadn't been around and that he had to depend on Peridot and Lapis Lazuli to provide for him but the frustration doesn't stop her from thinking. "Internet." She corrects while half listening to Peridot, she then spins Peridot to face her, "I'll look into these claims."

Garnet's visor reflect Peridot's own gaze right back at her as she says the next part very slowly, "If I find out you're lying to me and Steven is hurt or dead, there is nothing that will stop me from shattering you. If you imagine you and your lackeys have the power to stop me the fact you're here right now should tell you that when I decide to do something nothing can stop me. You had your warship, Jasper, and your defenses and we still got you."

She then puts the tape on Peridot's mouth to keep her quiet then gives her a firm shove so she spins around in a fast circle and then unwinds in the reverse for a bit, "Don't forget this time you're our prisoner not the other way around. You have no power here but what we let you have." With those parting words she leaves the other Gem to go look into her claims and figure out what truth if any there were to them.
