Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis is walking with the older Bruce Wayne as he nods to the various guest att he celebration of an agreement between Wayne-Powers and another company within the Multiverse. He has a glass of wine in his hand and listens as Bruce and a gentleman speak. Excusing himself, he heads and gets another drink before he walks around the room, looking at those here, using his skills as Batman to see who could be a possible threat to the celebration. Looking att he wait staff, he checks what they have so far done and makes sure things are going good.

Once that is done, he looks out the window from the Wayne-Powers Building and sees the activity of the press and GPD as they work. Looking, he spots a lot of more vehicles arriving with more guests. Smiling, he turns and looks at the crowd as it slowly grows, yet in the back of his mind, he is thinking of his friend Hoshi and those who have been taken that she is worried about.
Nightblind     There is a little bit of a hubbubb as a few people from othside Gotham City make it in. Businessmen wearing tuxes, expensive names like Armani. A few women whose faces have more plastic in them than most dollar store toy aisles. The company was McRae Technological Industries out of Stonegate. A name he might have heard of visiting in-town. A woman with a wizened face is making her rounds, introducing herself and sharing a few laughs, diamonds kissing at her throat.

One of the men in the fine tuxes looks up, and apparently mistaking Terry for a garcon, attempts to hand him his drink, and makes way with a smile on his face.

Pulling up to the curb is a dark color luxury sedan, which plants itself on the ground and opens its doors automatically. A woman steps out, wearing fine slacks, strong shoes and a hairwrap, a cream shirt under a crisp black jacket. All business. She glances around, taps an entry on the datapad and turns to speak to someone still in the car. A red-tipped cane pokes out, and unfolding herself is a woman that Terry might recall from a coffee shop. Her hair's been straightened and curled and tamed into place t the back of her head, where white flowers are picked out of the gloom of the night. She weras a very simple, dark blue evening gown, no tule or frivolousness. She gives a smile to the woman she's traveling with, and carefully listening to direction, she walks in, tapping the cane as she goes.

"Is that the McRae heir?" One of the businessmen from Stonegate could be heard saying, peering down over the window. He gives a short laugh. "Didn't recognize her without the dog."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks at the guy who hands him the drink, takes it and sets it on the table. Chuckling to himself, Terry walks on and talks to a few that he knows due to what he does for Bruce and some are askign him how things are going and Terry explains his career as a physician and that he is close to getting a residence. A few drop names of those they know and others tell him to keep at it, cause Bruce is one who will be proud. As he nods ot them, he excuses himself and walks on, seeing a familiar face and he walks over to the lady, "Commissioner," he says to her as she looks at him. "McGinnis," she says.

"How are you doing ma'am,"Terry asks and she looks, "Good McGinnis. Here making sure security is good and that there is not a need for the Batman." and Terry grins, "There is always a need," he comments and she nods, "Just not tonight. Tonight is for Bruce," and Terry nods, "Yea, this has been important for Wayne-Powers, and so far so good," he mentions as he talks a few more before the two part ways. The one good thing about Commissioner Gordon, is that she use to be Batgirl, and knows who Terry and Bruce is.

As Terry walks, he hears the conversation about the McRae heir and then the next remark. Turning, Terry mutters to himself as he walks towards the lady and stops as he blinks and smiles as to who it is. Approaching, he stops and smiles, "Mrs. McRae," he says to her as he looks, "May I escort you to the party?" he asks her as he knows that she will reconize his voice.
Nightblind     Ella was taking direction from her assistant, the woman with the hairwrap giving instruction quietly.

"You could have let the main body of the board handle this." she muttered, but Ella gave a smile. "And miss the opportunity to experience the exotic locale of Gotham City? See the sights? Listen to its music? Come now, Al."

The other woman scowled. "/That/ noise was /not/ music." she mutters, and as Terry approaches, the other woman seems to bristle, reaching for her side automatically.

    Ella, however, steps forward.

"Mr. McGinnis, what a surprise to find you here." she remarks amiably, "It seems like not only do we share a love of coffee, we're both struck to make appearances in the most unusual places." she compliments him in a friendly voice. She's still wearing sunglasses, even though Gotham is... not the brightest place. "May I introduce my assistant, Aliyah?"

The woman steps forward, a stern look on her face, and she reaches out to shake Terry's hand. "Charmed."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis blinks and nods, "Ma'am" he says as he takes her hand and shakes it. "Like I said, I help Mr. Wayne at things like this and at his home. I'm not use to the tux, as it is not my style," he comments as he looks at Aliyah then back to Ella, "Welcome to Gotham City, although I do suggest going out during the day and not the night. Those that prowl on people are out more then," he mentions to her as he looks to Aliyah.

hinking, he smiles, "I would be happy to take the two of you around Gotham in the morning to show you the sights and sounds," he adds as he gestures to the door, "At least allow me to escort the two of you in, and introduce you to Mr. Wayne," he suggests tothe two.
Nightblind     "I would be happy to meet Mr. Wayne. He and I have a measure of things in common. I've heard about his philantropical works in his youth... seems like he was a little more of an extrovert than I." Ella replies friendily to Terry. She has the classy scent of Chanel about her, sapphires sparkling at her ears in silvery teardrops and another at her throat on a choker. She holds out her hand, a little awkwardly "If I might borrow your arm, Mr. McGinnis?" she inquires, with a slightly embarrassed smile. "... I'm afraid you may get some ribbing from the board members of the company."

Al follows, folding her arm around the datapad protectively as she gives Terry an appraising eye.

"Now, I heard that Gotham has the Batman, like Stonegate has our dark... archer I think they were calling him. Strange that someone would turn to an archaic weapon... but that's the city for you. The one on the prowl for the prowlers, so to speak."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis offers his arm and places her hand on it and lets her adjust to where she would like it to be. "Yea, Batman has been a helpful aspect to Gotham, compared to all of the various criminal aspects here. Granted he does good for the amount of enemies he has made, but he has also made a number of friends who will help him," he says as he nods about Stonegate's own protector, "I believe his name is Nigthblind. Sounds almost like Batman," he adds as he escorts her. "Let them talk, I just help Mr. Wayne when he needs stuff done. I do not work for Wayne-Powers," he mentions. "I also help protect Mr. Wayne in situations that is needed."
Nightblind     "When you're not busy studying to be a physician." Ella recalls. She considers a moment. "Nightblind? Isn't... that used to hunt deer?" she questions, puzzledly a moment. "... or is that ducks?" she turns to 'look' up to Terry (or at last where his voice is). "And it's not Wayne-Powers that I worry about... it's /McRae/ boards that concern me, even more than a distinct lack of coffee in my system." Ella replies quietly. "Thank you, by the by, for the offer of showing us Gotham. I might take you up on it."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods, "Yea, in-between my studies," he comments. "And it is going to be more hetic when I have to do my residency," he adds. "I see," he says. "I take it that the boards do not like you very well?" he asks as he wonders if that is why that businessman made that remark. "Mr. Wayne is a good reader of a person, and can tell you a lot on what he sees. and he is good to Gotham, giving money to try to help a sections of Gotham," he comments as he looks around. "That gentleman over there," and he nods to the businessman with his head, "I think does not like you."
Nightblind     "Probably not. I make things terribly hard for them to run a business that my father and grandfather built up on the values of kindness and taking care of one another into the ground on low wages and poor processes... as long as I own majority stock, I own the company." she replies quietly. "He also hates my guide dog. I think he might just hate everyone who isn't himself." she mutters dryly.

THe man in question approaches, slicked hair and a pointed, carefully groomed goatee, and Ella platers on a grin.

"Arabella McRae! You look as fresh as a new day. I'm so glad you could make it out to Gotham; we weren't sure if you would be interested in..." he pauses, and glances up at Terry and Aliyah, and he gives a smile. "Ah, but no place to discuss work matters, is it? I've met Miss Salib, who is this gentleman?" he inquires. Not even recognizing the man he handed the drink to.

"May I introduce Terry McGinnis, an associate of Mr. Wayne's. Mr. McGinnis," Ella motions, with a vague wave of her hand in the man's direction, "this is Harold Whittaker, one of our financial officers."

"Perry, how do you do?" Whittaker replies, and reaches to grasp Terry's hand.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis studies the mana nd takes his hand and shakes, "I am well sir, thank you Mr. Whittaker," he replies. "I hope Gotham is to your liking," he adds as he nods to what Ella had just said and documents that in his mind. "That sounds a lot like how Mr. Wayne is towards his employees, and somethign he has started doign again since he took over at Mr. Powers resigned due to personal issues," he mentions as he leaves out why Powers left. "And how are oyu enjoying the party sir," he asks him.
Nightblind     "It's a grand, grand affair indeed. It's so interesting to see how culture could have been. Look at this place! The face of blazing modernity. The tech we could share, the knowledge, would revolutionize the city. It'd be a real task of synergy to get everything going, though. And a lot of old ways would have to make room for progress -- we have this section of town called the Flats and let me tell you -- it would be a great place to build up warehousing, technological firms, office buildings. Prime Real Estate, Perry, with access to the docks!"

"The only problem with it," Ella interrupts, "is that The Flats are a relatively quiet, low-cost rent area with a strong community and police presence. To buy up that section of the city would be to move everyone around to places like Yarnsmouth and Old Stonegate, which are both high-crime areas." Ella points out. "It's not good for the city to move in that direction."

"Oh, you sound like your father -- he didn't have vision either -- just not literally!" Whittaker gives a guffaw and laugh. The hand at Terry's arm curls slightly.

"You were always so witty, Whittaker." Ella replies, but her tone has a bit of ice to it.

There might be a draft, the air's gotten a few degrees colder.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods as he picks up due to tones the air getting colder and he clears hsi throat, "Mr. Whittaker, I promised Mrs McRae that I would introduce her and her assistant to Mr. Wayne and to assist the two of them tonight as needed," he says simply. "I do not want to keep Mr. Wayne waiting, but I would like ot talk some time with you on the similiaries between Gotham City and Stonegate," he adds as he smiles and gestures, "Shall we?" he asks the two, Ella and Aliyah.
Nightblind     Aliya glances up, as if looking for vents. Her eyebrow raises as her lips purse, and she follows Terry and Ella.

Ella bids Whittaker a goodnight, and then just gives a forced smile as she's lead away. "How unfortunate. All that cologne, and he still stinks." she mutters. Aliyah pauses, and tries not to laugh, manages a slight snort, and clears her throat, pretending to have to cough.

"... I apologize for him, Mr. McGinnis. It's... been a strained relationship between some of the board members and myself."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods, "Its not a problem," he mentions ot her. "I picked up on it and figured on a way to avoid any more talking to that ass," he says simply as he looks at Al and grins, "And I was holding my breath the entire time," he adds as he smiles. "I take it that he has an eye on your position to be his own," he asks the two as he sees a lot of what happened within Wayne-Powers between Bruce and Derek.
Nightblind     "No one wants the title of 'chairitable givings officer' -- they want the stock and the money." Ella replies. "Which... is somewhat unfortunate when they show their true colors. Money only amplifies who you are... when you are kind and giving it enables you to help others. When you are selfish... well." she gives a small smile. "You're something best not discussed in mixed company."

She straightens, and tilts her head slightly "... are we close?" she inquires "... I'd hate to step on feet."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods, "Yea, we have about twenty or so feet left before...." and he stops as he hears the call ont he radio and he blinks, "Great," he says simply as he looks at Ella and Al and ponders how to handle this situation. "Looks like something is going on," he comments to her and wonders if she is ont e same radio frequency as he is.
Nightblind     "... oh? A security issue?" she draws her cane back up, and gives a small smile to Terry. "If you need to secure the area, I understand. I'll stay with Miss Salib until you can return, or we'll find our way back to the hotel ourselves." she gives a smile. "I'm sure Mr. Wayne and I will bump into one another eventually."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods and looks, "Yea," he says to her. "You still have that card I gave you to get in touch with me right?" he asks her as he turns and takes her hand and bows, kissing it and smiles to the two. "If you two need any help or anythign, let me know and I'll do what I can," he adds as he nods again, "Mrs. McRaye Aliyah." and he turns and heads for an elevator off to the side. Bruce looks on as Terry leaves and sees who he was with and begins to walk over to Ella and Al.
Nightblind     Ella pauses, giving a blink as her hand is taken, and she hears the rustle of fabric as he bends, and lips against her hand. She gives a surprised sound, and Terry makes his exit.

Aliyah gives a sort of amused sound as Terry takes off, and she taps her datapad amusedly. "He's very handsome, but so pale." she states to Ella, who just gives a smile. "You know me, Al. Looks don't mean much." she replies to her. The blind heriess takes a breath, her shoulders rising up slightly as she takes a breath, and lets it out. "He seems like he's a nice boy."
Terry McGinnis     Once Terry left, an elderly man with a cane walked over, "Hello," he says to Ella and Al. "Welcome to Wayne-Powers, I am Bruce Wayne.. Pleasure to meet the two of you," he says. "I see that you have met my assistant Terry," he comments. "How are you enjoing Gotham City?" he asks the two fo them.
Nightblind     Ella pauses, and Aliya glances over, her lips pursing again as she regards the elderly Wayne.

Ella, however, gives him a kind smile. "Arabella McRae, of McRae Technological Industries. It's a pleasure to meet your aquaintence, Mr. Wayne." she greets him cordially, and with a practiced movement, she offers her hand for a handshake. Bruce might notice that for someone who doesn't see, she's very well toned. She holds herself steady on her heels with a practiced sort of grace. Her nails are fake -- press-on accrylics (very odd for someone whose trust fund is replenished faster than the GNP of some countries). Although she's blind, she manages to bring her hand up to a comfortable level for shaking based on Bruce's voice.
Terry McGinnis     Smiling, Bruce nods and takes the hand, "A pleasure to meet you Mrs. McRae. I am hoping that the agreement between our companies will be benefictual to all," he states as he thinks. "Would the two of you like a drink?" he asks as he waves one of the waiters over.
Nightblind     "oh, how rude of me. This is my assistant, Aliyah Salib -- she keeps me going straight. A little hard to make one's way around strange hallways." Ella offers as a half joking explaination to her close associate. Aliyah gives a smile, and gives a nod of her head, abstaining from the handshake as to keep an eye on Ella's doings.

"As do I. It seems that Wayne-Powers has had a major turn-around in its overarching company philosophy, I'm glad that ours align, even if the rest of the board disagrees with the more... friendly practices." Ella replies with a small smile. "Ah, yes, please, but neither of us partake in alcohol." Ella replies, momentarily embarrassed. "I'm afraid I have restrictions."
Terry McGinnis     Mr Wayne nods, "I am one who sees no problems with those who do not drink alcohol," he says. "It is not a drink everyone likes or enjoys." and he waiter arrives and Bruce looks, "I'll have a ice tea and whatever the two ladies would like," and he thinks for a moment. "When McGinnis returns, tell him I want to speak with him," he states and the waiter nods as he smiles.

"Yes, when Derek Powers was in charge, the company was going in a direction I was not agreeing with, and when I returned after his departure, the company is going to return to what it was when my father started it." and he looks around. "With Stonegate and Gotham both simialr in the way they are, I want to help in getting your city up with jobs and cleaning up of areas, but keeping taspects of the city unchanged," he mentions. "When you replace everything with somethign new, you tend to forget what you had," he adds.
Nightblind     "Iced tea sounds wonderful." Al replies, and ella gives a nod, holding up her hand for two iced teas, and she gives a small smile in Wayne's direction. "It does seem like Gotham in the time of your youth is similar to how Stonegate is now. Perhaps I'll have to convince you to mentor me in navigating through board meetings." Ella states, and takes a deep breath. "There are some aspects of Stonegate that need to be changed. I work very hard in my own field to make things right in a city that has given my family so much."
Terry McGinnis     Smiling, Bruce nods, "I would be happy to help you in areas like that," he states. "I know that at some point, I will need to leave due to my health, and knowing that there are people who have similar ideas and opinions like me, makes me happy," he states as her as the waiter leaves. Thinking, he ponders something, "I believe I see Terry returning," he states to them as Terry walks up to Bruce. "You wanted to see me Mr. Wayne," he asks him.

"Terry, I want you to take the time to assist Mrs McRae and Mrs. Salib in anyway that they need while they are here in Gotham City. Make sure they are kept safe from the various gangs we have here." and Terry nods, "Understood Mr. Wayne, and that issue has been taken care of." he states simply.
Nightblind     "I'm afraid this stay won't be long on this trip." Ella replies, giving a small smile to both Bruce and in Terry's direction. "McRae Technological will be doing a function next week, and I'll have to prepare for it. There's an awful lot of rehearsing for walking up to stands, making sure there's no trip hazards..." she explains, and motions to the glasses. "But I would be happy to host you in my home town, Mr. Wayne, if you'd be so inclined to induldge a young upstart like myself." she gives a friendly smile. She honestly liked Wayne. He didn't feel fake.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks at Ella and nods as he waits for Bruce to respond as he thinks on this. "I would be happy to attend," he states to her. "I have never been to Stonegate City, and I think a trip would be good," he states to the three. "Mr. McGinnis has been saying I need to get out and see more of the Multiverse," he adds with a smile as he glances over to Terry, who just grins. "

They have a good coffee shop that you would enjoy Mr. Wayne," he says with a nod as he glances over at Ella. "They had some good coffee when I went there to see more about Stonegate," he comments as he thinks, . o 0 (And ran into Nightblind and then Ella, so two times so far," he thinks as he loosk at Ella and Al then back to Bruce.

Bruce nods and smiles, knowing what Terry knew and saw, but keeps that to himself. "And I think Mr. McGinnis would be good to go a head of me to make sure things are ready for my arrival," he says to him. "Due to my age, I tend to prefere things a certain way, and I think Mr. McGinnis would enjoy the time to see more of Stonegate. And he would be more then happy to speak with you and take you and Mrs. Salib around Gotham to see what all we have and if there is anything that oyu think would be benefitful to Stonegate City," he comments as he looks.

"If you will excuse me, I see a few I need to speak with. Terry, please assist Mrs. McRae and Mrs. Salib while they are here in anyway that they need," he says as he inclines his head to the two and walks off after excusing himself.
Nightblind     "Travel is good for the spirit; my home is your home while you are visiting. It'd be nice to have company at Brookwood." McRae replies, and she gives a small nod. "It was a pleasure to meet your aquaintence, Mr. Wayne." Ella replies as the older man makes his exit. Ella pauses, and inclines her head to Terry.

"He doesn't mind dogs, does he? Dakota's not paticular about company, but I need him in case we're going about the city."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis chuckles, "You should see Ace," he states simply. "Ace is very protective of Bruce and it took a few months for him to get use to me. When I am not around, Ace is always alert and ready for anything. And I do mean anything. He took on a small gang of Jokerz once and they ran after a few nips form him," he states. "Outside of Ace and myself and Commissioner Gordon, there are not many people Bruce knows or trusts," he says as Bruce talks to a few people and remembers the last party that bruce had a few years ago when the Joker returned and caused problems...

"Oh, your drinks, Tea was it?" he asks the two as he gets the cups and thinks, "Lets go have a seat at a table."
Nightblind     "Iced tea, and yes, please. Heels are just not made for standing." Ella bemoans, and the group moves to a table. Aliyah takes the glass, and sets it down, "At your two o'clock." she states, somewhat out of habbit.

"Ah. Dogs are excellent judges of character. What kind of dog is Ace?" Ella inquires curiously, eager to move away from boring business talk and genuinely curious regarding Terry and Bruce's life.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis shrugs, "No idea," he states. "Ace was a rescue who Bruce saved in an ally," he states to her. "Since then, Ace has been by his side, and he was trained to fight, and those type of dogs are really hard to determine the type." he states as he pulls the chair out for Ella and nods to Al.
Nightblind     Ella sits, and Aliyah sits herself just as nice as you please.

"Dakota's a German Shepherd, guide dog trained. He's very socialble. I like him more than I like most people." Ella gives a small grin to Terry, and draws her drink closer. "So, do you live with Mr. Wayne, Terry?" she inquires, her eyebrows rising as she sips her iced tea.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods, "On and off," he states to her as he sits and takes a drink of his water. "I live near my mom and little brother, but I do have a room at Bruce's mansion, but I am there maybe once a week unless Bruce has to go out of town for a day or two then I stay there. I make sure the place is safe and that nothing has happened to it. Luckily my college schedule lets me be flexible." he comments. "Bruce lives there byhimself with Ace and only has a few visitors who stop by, namely myself and Barbra," he adds. "he has no family or anything, since his parents were killed when he was little boy."
Nightblind     Ella's face darkens at that news. She sips her tea thoughtfully. "That is a hard choice, living alone for so long after a tragedy like that..." hse trails off, and exhales, her shoulders falling. For a moment, she looks exhausted. "But it's admirable to be so independant. Perhaps someday, I'll be able to regain my sight and... travelw ith less strain to poor Aliyah."

"You're not a strain, Ella." Aliyah replies back instantly.

    "She's so strained."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis thinks, "Well, I know that people within the Union could possibly help with that. They do have some amazing technology tha tmight be able to help you. OR perhaps one of the magical people," he mentions as he looks at Al. "But I think she is strained," he comments. "But when it involves a friend the strain is worth it. God knows that if Al wasn't with you, the others within the company would have taken over and who knows what would have happened."
Nightblind     "I'm right here." Al states sullenly. And she tries to look strict, but fails, shaking her head and smiling.

T"I.. in truth hadn't considered magic." Ella replies, and she gives a rueful smile. "Since there's no magic in Stonegate, I suppose that'd make the most sense." she gives a grin, and she leans back a moment in her chair. "I could have always gotten a reader, or requested documents in Braille. I hear that Stark Industries is coming out with a glove that converts conventional text to Braiile, and that is so /exciting/."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis thinks "Well, I know a few that I think are still around. I c0na ask them, or you could maybe get a charm or something that allows you to see when you wear it. That way if anyone questions things." and he nods, "I know, but if you do want a break for whatever reason, give me a ring and I will be glad to help." he says to Al. "Friends help friends, no matter what."
Nightblind     "Friends do help friends." Ella replies with a smile. "I'm afraid I might've kept you too long from any other duties. I'm sure if someone finds me drinkign tea alone, one of my helpful board members will be by with news or gossip." she gives a small smile. "I'll be happy to meet with you again and explore the city."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods, "I got time, as most of the place is pretty safe. a small incident that needed me to see, but nothing big," he states as he sits and talks witht he two for a little bit longer before heading to take care of things.
Nightblind     Ella enjoys the company, until the party wraps up. Speeches and applause are had, and she and Aliyah bid Terry and Mr. Wayne a farewell, before returning back to their hotel.
