Owner Pose
Berserker     It had been a careful choice, selecting when to 'confront' Kay. Berserker had been off doing her own thing a lot, but when with her Master, she'd been nothing but polite. She'd also been a dark-haired, nondescript woman for most of it, taking care of matters like cooking. Selecting this time was important, though. No familiars, little chance of interruption...

"Master," Berserker says as she materializes again, very close by. "I think it is time. You have waited quite a while, and I have something very important to share with you." She didn't call Kay 'beloved' this time, so it must be something more formal.
Kay     Kay was as always a little casual, but tonight that meant she was sitting at the desk, idly putting together one of her pistols after cleaning it. She was careful about it, but didn't show the same love that an enthusiast might. To her, the weapon was a tool, and unlikely to be something she kept. The thoroughness was so that it would be reliable, not for any attachment.

So when her Servant materializes near her and says something with such weight, she is quick to set down the slide she's working on, turning around in her chair with a look of surprise and confusion. "Huh? Important?" Kay rubs at her head. "Um... all right, I guess. I'm not real sure about this whole Grail War, though. I trust you'll do what you need, so I've kind of been letting you do what you want. What's up?"
Berserker     When that is said, Berserker's eyes light up, and she smiles back. "You trust me? This pleases me. Trust, and the truth, are the most important part of a relationship. Always remember that, My Lady Master." Her form blurs slightly, revealing a shorter woman, petite and youthful, with flowing greenish-blonde hair and small, bony protrusions like horns on either side of her head. Her eyes are gold, with flecks of red within them... a very odd shade that doesn't seem quite human.

"That is why I am showing you this, my true form," Berserker says, reaching out to touch Kay on the lips. "And telling you a secret that you must not tell anyone until the time is right, until it no longer matters. Despite my looks, I am a Berserker. My name, the name of my legend, is Kiyohime. Please address me as such in private."
Kay     The true form is not nearly so great a reveal for Kay as others might be. This is because... well, Kay is kind of creeped out by Berserker's obsession with being her 'beloved' and all. The horrors of being largely straight with a female stalker. The young wanderer is more surprised that she's now trusted with the Servant's name, though. "Kiyohime," she repeats. "It's a very pretty name, though it means nothing to me. My world has few legends in common with yours."

Kay sighs then, and leans back in her chair. "I can't really offer much in return. What I told Riva and Kyra is the truth. My... name? It's Kay. That's all I know. I don't think it's my true name, but it's all I've got. The only thing I didn't share with them is that uh... my foster parents are both dead. That's the biggest secret I can share." She stops and thinks. "Well no. There is something else. I'm going to have to ask you to keep it a secret, too."
Berserker     A secret? How exciting! Berserker's eyes light up with joy that she's being told this, and in an instant she is... behind Kay, with a hairbrush, working on the blonde's hair. Brush brush. "A secret? Of course. My Lady Master is the most important being in my existence, and I will let nothing cause her harm."

She leans in, murmuring more quietly. "Absolutely nothing."
Kay     Okaaaay. That's not creepy at all! Well, Kay sits still, awkwardly letting the Servant... brush her hair. This is getting a little weird. She continues on and mutters quietly, "Yeah. It has to do with that source of mana, I think." She drums her fingers on the desk. "It's true I don't know where it came from, but it's uh... not quite true that I can't use it at all. Every once in a while, weird things happen. I'm already stronger and faster than a human should be. Sometimes I... see things. Things I shouldn't be able to. Once I even flew... though I crashed right into the ground and haven't quite figured out how to stop that."

She closes her eyes and sighs. "I don't know what I am, Kiyohime, but it sure isn't human. That power inside me? It lets me regenerate. I had my arm bitten off once, you know? Hurt like hell. By the time I crawled back into town, four days later... I had a new one. It's not a power I understand. I haven't even seen Grigori who can do that kind of thing."
Berserker     Of all the secrets to reveal, Berserker had not expected something so... philosophical. It actually makes her pause, looking down at Kay with some curiosity. "The question of humanity is not answered by what one can do, or the body's functions, beloved." Oh, back to that, are we? "Perhaps you are more than human, but it matters not. Deep down, you are human enough to form a contract with me. And deep down, it is your humanity that defines how you act, and who you are. You are more human than I am. As a Servant, I am a tool for you to use, and it is my wish to be human again."

She sets the brush down, resting a hand on Kay's shoulder. "And perhaps then, I will no longer be the monster I am now. I would not be a Servant, or a Berserker, if I had not been a monster in life. I will see your questions answered, beloved."
Kay     Awkward again. Kay bites her lip. "I appreciate the kind words, Kiyohime, but uh... I kind of still need to find the answers. I guess we'll do that together. I admit I wasn't sure what you were going on about, and I'm still a little queasy about this 'fiancee' business... but I appreciate your honesty and help."

She smiles, "I think that's enough weighty material for one night, though. I'm going to finish this and try to get some sleep. You should, too."
