Hoshi Amakasu     Dark and cold it was in Aberichstadt today. The entirety of Europe was caught dead in winter now, and the entire town was covered in a blanket of snow from last night's flurries. The mall that Hoshi directed Jeanne to was one of the few places that had many people in it; and quite a few there were, of all ages. The inside of the mall is much warmer than inside... Not that Hoshi would know.

Currently, she's standing outside, bundled up in a thick black peacoat and a blue scarf. She's even got blue earmuffs and mittens, but she's still wearing a skirt and leggings. Despite the cold, she figured it wouldn't be fair if she waited inside in the warmth while Jeanne had to walk through the snow. She glances occaisonally at the people that pass by her--some of them from her school--but it didn't look like anyone she disliked was hanging about, so good luck for her.
Jeanne d'Arc      Right... cold. Jeanne sometimes forgets about the weather, all things considered.

Therefore, she shows up in a pretty black jacket with white accents over a sturdy ankle-waist thick dress with stockings and boots just high enough to keep her out of the snow. She is very easy to spot, considering her purple eyes and long blonde braid. It's helpful, so to say.

     "Amakasu!" She calls out, politely.
Hoshi Amakasu     Hearing her name, Hoshi glances around quickly, a big grin growing on her face. She trots forward to meet Jeanne and offers her a nod. "Hey Jeanne." Her eyes go over Jeanne's outfit for a moment before snapping back to her face. She coughs a bit into her scarf. "You look really cute. You and I should go shopping together sometime." Not this time, though!

Greeting done, she starts making her way to the door and holds it open for Jeanne. A blast of warm air and noise comes from the inside--an inside that makes it very very clear that this place has some serious money behind it. There's two floors, all well-lit, the walls and floor colored in patterns of gold and brown stone. Once Jeanne is in, Hoshi follows soon after, plucking off her mittens with a thankful grin. "The ice cream place is up on the second floor east side, so we'll head there. How're the primers going, by the way?"
Jeanne d'Arc "The difference!" Jeanne says, not complaining with the blast of air. It probably is colder for the other girl as it were.

"Mmm, they're doing... okay. I don't try to rush myself, especially since I'm learning Welsh as well. It's easy to get confused. Sorry."
Hoshi Amakasu     It is pretty different. Not long after her mittens she's shucking her scarf as well, tucking both into her pockets. "Don't worry about rushing. Just try to keep up with it when you can. Don't apologize, either." She grins and pats Jeanne's shoulder gently. "Take it at your pace, and you'll be good."

As they wander on, they pass a quite a few places--some boutiques, a gift shop, even a restaurant. It's not long after that they hit the stairs and Hoshi leads them their destination: Aldemir Eis, reads the sign. It's a little shop on it's own, complete with a few chairs, but it seems mostly empty for today--seems most people don't want to eat ice cream in snowy weather. "Two sundaes, please," Hoshi tells the person at the counter. "I'll keep mine plain." She turns to Jeanne. "Go ahead--you can put stuff like Kinder chocolate in, if you want. I'll pay for whatever."
Jeanne d'Arc "Mm... I've said it before, but you are a very wonderful person." She says in a quiet voice as they head for the sundae bar. She leaves it at that as they get in the place to order, and Jeanne, showing a surprising amount of restraint, avoids ordering Every Topping Ever, instead just asking for some Kinder Chocolate.

"Please, I was planning on paying.."
Hoshi Amakasu     The lady behind the counter smiles and nods as she starts prepping ther ice cream for them, though she pauses and tilts her head when the two start trying to work on who can pay. "You two can split the check, you know," she says helpfully with a smile, then gets back to what she was doing. Hoshi coughs a bit and looks back towards Jeanne, her head tilted. "Eh? I don't think I'm that big of a deal... You sure you want to pick up the tab? I don't mind doing it. Or splitting it." The lady behind the counter smiles again and waves for them to have a seat at one of the many open tables. "I'll give you your recipt after you've decided," she says.

Hoshi nods thankfully and takes one of the tables towards the corner of the shop to wait for their goodies. "How's everything been at your world? From what I've been hearing, the Grail War is starting to turn hot pretty quickly.
Jeanne d'Arc      "I'm paying for everything." Jeanne says politely but insistently, turning towards Hoshi to listen to her for a second. She fumbles with the pocket in her jacket, drawing out a small bill fold - math is still not one of her greatest subjects, and now she's dealing with euro instead of yen, but thankfully it is labelled and she eventually manages. She looks slightly embarassed the whole time, though.

She then joins Hoshi. "I haven't actually heard too much about it being /my/ Grail War, but I have no doubts that it will start acting up soon, especially as I am sure that my true nature has been revealed by now."
Hoshi Amakasu     The lady glances between Hoshi and Jeanne with a slightly inquisitive look, but she has the sense to not say anything. Once she's finished with the sundaes, she comes around the counter and sets it down at their table, taking the money on her way back and giving the correct change as necessary. With that done she slips to the back of the shop to start cleaning, and give the two some privacy.

Hoshi coughs a bit in embarassment. "Sorry. I guess I thought you were helping Mr. Emiya and everyone else." And... The true nature thing. "Sorry about that," Hoshi offers quietly, glancing down. "It was pretty dumb of me. But, that's also why I'm going to help if stuff gets crazy. So I expect you to let me know, alright?" She grins a bit.
Jeanne d'Arc      "Oh, I should be." Jeanne says, kindly. "I won't argue that, but different worlds, different Wars. That's why there's like, eighty thousand sabers, right." Jeanne might be exaggerating a little.

"But yes, you will help me, I will help you, we will eat sundaes and floats and delicious delicious little bites of cakes and candy and--"
Hoshi Amakasu      "There IS a lot of Sabers," Hoshi agrees with a chuckle. "I have to wonder why. Maybe whoever runs the Multiverse really likes you guys." It's about what she could figure out about this whole thing.

Hoshi starts to dig into her ice cream, mostly trying to make sure she's got bits of nut on her spoonfuls to counteract the sweetness. And... more and more sweets. Hoshi nods, but she's going to have to remember to keep some peanuts or something with her... Then she tilts her head as Jeanne comes to a stop. "And? Heh. You sound like you want to give me diabetes. Why'd you stop, though?"
Jeanne d'Arc      Jeanne shrugs. "Probably that amongst other reasons."

She digs into her ice cream, blushing slightly. "Ice cream isn't... a treat I really ever had before the multiverse." She admits. "So is quite a lot of other things. I get... enthusiastic."
Hoshi Amakasu     Ahhh, that made sense. A grin comes to Hoshi's face as she spoons another bit of ice cream, fudge, and nuts into her mouth. "You should come here for Christmas, then. According to Kohler they have a festival, with all the treats and the cakes that you might want." She pauses. "Except maybe ice cream, 'cause I think it's a whole thing in the market square outside. And... Well, it'd be cool to hang out with you and everyone on Christmas. I haven't really had a Christmas around people my age." Mostly because she never really had a significant other, and Japan views Christmas as mostly a day for couples and close family.
Jeanne d'Arc      "Oh, can I?" Jeanne asks, brightly. "I celebrated last year as it was my first introduction to as Christmas is now, and Sir Bedivere will probably host another winter celidah, but I would be happy to come out and spend time with you and everyone else from the academy."

She digs back into her ice cream. "All this... stuff is so interesting to me."
Hoshi Amakasu     Hoshi nods vigorously. "Yeah, of course you can come. You're our friend. And we can try mulled wine together! I'm hoping we can get Ms. MacNally, Ms. Libery, and Volkov to come, too." She smiles a bit tiredly. "It'd be nice if we could all be friends and hang out with each other outside of the Forest. You think?" Hoshi goes silent as she eats a bit more. "What's a celidah? I don't think I know what that means... What's interesting, though? I guess the world must be really different from how it used to be."
Jeanne d'Arc      "It's basically a party. That's just what he calls it." Jeanne explains.

"I think it could work, but... Hoshi, I'm very much a pacifist at heart. I wield no blade unless my hand is forced too, and even then my heart and very soul is wounded by it. Yes, I did what I had to do back in..." She trails off, implying the war she was crowned as the Maid of Orleans in, "But I think that we need to work on friendships first, even as you protect people fighting for their lives."
Hoshi Amakasu     Hoshi goes quiet and tilts her head slightly as Jeanne tells her--at least a little bit--about what sort of things had happened. A pacifist. That was something you never read in a history book. "How cruel," Hoshi mumbles quietly. That she had to be put through such things, having to fight despite desperately not wanting to. "Y-you don't have to fight if you don't want to," Hoshi says slowly. "I don't mind fighting for you, y'know.

She stirs her sundae up a bit restlessly. "But... I don't know, Jeanne. We're all super different. Really, the only thing that brought us together in the first place was the Forest." She scowls. "You missed Ms. Liberi and Ms. MacNally brawling because they got on each other's nerves, too."
Jeanne d'Arc      "Oh... is that what was going down on the radio that other night?"

Jeanne considers the statement, then puts her spoon down, dropping her voice super low as she leans in towards Hoshi. "Trust me. I know about differences. I was a sixteen year old girl that saw angels and was attempting to win a war. I can remember people didn't believe me, didn't like me, didn't trust me. After all..." She looks away, shudders.

"Look at what happened... but I still persevered, and we won."
Hoshi Amakasu     Hoshi nods, a grumpy scowl still on her face. "I guess it's good because we found Volkov, but still. Geez..."

Jeanne suddenly leaning closer makes Hoshi blink at her, but she leans forward a bit as well. When she put it like that, their problem wasn't really as bad in comparison, is it? "Yeah, you did win. And you got named a saint. If I may ask, though... did you actually see angels? I guess it'd make sense, I know they're real now, but I can't help but be kind of curious."
Jeanne d'Arc      Jeanne gives Hoshi a very long look at her question, her pale violet eyes narrowing.

"Yes. I swear to you, I would say on the Book that I did."
Hoshi Amakasu     ... Did she say something wrong? The way that Jeanne was staring at her with narrowed eyes. "Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like I didn't believe you. I guess that was a dumb question. You just never really hear about this stuff in the articles online." Hoshi tries to give her an encouraging smile. "I believe you. I guess the way I see it was those times were hard, but maybe they or God gave you another chance to come back so you could have a happier time of it?" So much for her being an atheist.

Eventually she coughs and spoons up a couple more bits of ice cream before pushing the rest away. Too much sweet. "Heh. I guess in the end I can't really compete with you. Even angels think you're awesome."
Jeanne d'Arc      "No, sorry, it's just... I'm sorr-n-no, I don't, don't, don't say that!"

Jeannes' hands fly up to her face, burying her face into them as a red scarlet flares over her cheeks.
Hoshi Amakasu     Hoshi's eyes go wide at Jeanne's sudden reaction. Then a slow, creeping grin comes across her face. Oh man, she had to see how far this extended. "You're also super pretty, too," she says bluntly. "Your hair's beautiful, and your smile is really cute." She wonders for a moment at going farther, but instead she leans back in her chair with a wide Chesire smile on her face.

After a few moments, though, she gets a little more serious. "Sorry, that was just... The way you reacted was cute. Are you okay?" She leans forward, cautiously putting a hand on the other girl's shoulder. "I'll stop teasing you?"
Jeanne d'Arc Jeanne, having hidden her face in her hands, can't see the grin going over Hoshi's face. It's... probably... probably for the best.

She goes red further and further as she keeps getting so bluntly complimented, and by the end she's practically hiding her face in the soft neck of her winter jacket. This is the girl who protests getting called 'Saint', 'Most Holy', and by her title 'Maid of Orleans'. After a few seconds of hiding, she peeks over her hands at Hoshi, jumping a little at the touch. Her voice a very flustered whisper, and her French accent horribly, horribly, mars her words then they normally do.

"A-ahhh, I'm s-sorry, I'm fine, I just, never, had, I, you, your smile and stuff is cute too, oh God help me." If she could just fade away out of existance she very well might. Help her.
Hoshi Amakasu     For a moment, Hoshi was caught unsurprised by the look she got, and those flustered little whispers. She stares at Jeanne with an open mouth and wide eyes. It was just... so cute. When her train of thought finally slams itself roughly back on the track, she blinks and quickly tries to clear her head. A slow blush comes to her face as she coughs, a nervous smile on her face. "Y-you think so, huh? Ah... Th-thanks."

Just then, the lady running the store tonight came back out from the back room and froze at the sight of the two. Quick thinking causes her to duck back into the back and call out, "We'll be closing soon, ladies. Thank you very much for your patronage." It's probably a good thing that they don't see the wide grin that's on the lady's face.

Right! Time to go! Hoshi stands and offers her hand to help Jeanne stand. "W-we can, uh. Hang out for a bit in the mall before it closes, if you want."
Jeanne d'Arc      "I think so, yes..." The sound of the shop lady gives her a startle and Jeanne lets out a noise that may or may not be a squeak.

Best not to ask about it.

"Uh, yeah, sure, that sounds good. Maybe I can find a present for Shizune. I just gave her a letter last year about how thankful I was for her and it feels kind of ... cheating to do it again last year." She takes the proffered hand, pulling herself to her feet gracefully. Maybe a gift for Hoshi, too, but she doesn't say that one out loud. Her red face says enough at the moment, anyways.
Hoshi Amakasu     As she helped Jeanne up, she... might have ended up holding her hand a little bit longer than necessary. Her hand just didn't budge again for a second or two. A perplexed look comes to her face as they step outside to continue their night. "Oh, yeah. There's a lot of cool stuff we can get here. Not really sure what she likes, though. Clothes? Games? I'll help you look."

And so they went, but when Jeanne isn't looking, Hoshi has a somewhat bemused look on her face. Something funny was going on here, and she wasn't quite sure what...
