Kay     There's not a whole lot to say about Kay's current situation. LOTS of monitors, and a bed, and IVs, and all the usual stuff! The girl is largely just sitting there, and she looks pretty pale, but grins when anyone else comes in. "Hey guys. Pardon if I don't get up. Actually I have a lot of trouble even lifting my arms right now, so uh... yeah. Still working on the heart thing."

She actually /does/ have blood pressure, but her 'heartbeat' is pretty irregular and fluttery, according to the monitors.
Berserker Naturally, Berserker is here! In her true form, she looks a little more petite than she's been showing herself as, with horns on her head and traditional japanese clothing. Fanning herself, she stands near Kay in that typical helicopter manner. She doesn't SAY anything, she's just smiling to keep an eye on people. At least she knows Kyra a little already!
Kyra Hyral     While Kyra does indeed know Berserker, she's still pretty intimidated by her-even more so now because she heard her turn into an angry, fire-breathing dragon last night. It made her nervous enough that Sakura was asked to come along to make sure she didn't mess anything up.

The last thing wants is her magic to go awry during this.

"I wouldn't be asking you too." Kyra half grins as she checks the vitals really quickly. "Have they given you an MRI or CAT scan since you've come in? Your heart rate is kind of screwy."
Sakura Haruno     Flowers, on the other hand, is not nervous. This is partly because she's not actively helping, the older medic standing well back to watch over Kyra work. Since it's in medical proper, at least she's bothered to track down scrubs, even if she's primarily just standing with her arms folded.

She looks like she might be silently judging Kyra as she starts the exam. This is only because she is, though.
Valentha Summers     When Valentha arrives she's in human form, and looks mostly intact. None of the damage sustained earlier has carried over, at least not on the surface. But she's wearing just jeans and a T-shirt! Nothing fancy or too expensive.

INto the room she strolls though, sighing and rubbing her face. Obviously due to the current radio discussions.

"What a day, haha! Guess I'd better switch over to this 'me' instead. Good evening, Kayyyy. Looking good for someone who should be dead. Keep up the good work." There's nothing but genuine warmth behind her seemingly wry smile. A persona shift, alright.
Ellestaria     Ellestaria has a labcoat. She also has her own equipment, and is lingering off the side. She's just arrived, after all. "Hello again, Flowers. Hello, Kyra." She tucks hair back and considers the situation. "And Kiyohime. Now then... does anyone mind if I draw some blood and start some analysis while you handle anything else?"

This is something to help train Kyra, so she's letting her take the lead here. Valentha can do what she likes, though Ellestaria is keeping an eye on her.
Kay     Kyra's the one who asks the first pertinent question. "Yeah my heart still isn't working. Pretty sure that's why I can't move. Seems to be going fine though." Her blood pressure is low, but not dangerously so. Might be why she isn't elevated too much.

"Scans should be in the computer if they're done," Kay offers. "The other doctors ran those but I don't know what they found." They kinda cleared out for all the pros that have coming out.
Kyra Hyral     Kyra gives Sakura a silent nod of respect, feeling a bit more at ease there even though she knows the medininja will be judging her performance here. "Go right ahead, Ellestaria." That'd be one less thing Kyra would have to do herself.

"I'll go take a look at them, then." Kyra nods, slipping away to the aforementioned computer to pull up the files. "How fast does you regeneration work, Kay? And how wide was the blow to your heart in relation to the sides of your heart itself? Did it get blown out with a spell or punctured with a sword? Stuff like that."
Ellestaria     Ellestaria mns, moving over to draw some blood. "I'll work on any analysis of genetics and alterations, that sort of thing." She's not going to linger too close. "Let me know if this is something you don't want. I know you seem to have some kind of... privacy issues, but I think it might be worth finding out."
Kay     "I don't have hard numbers, Kyra," Kay admits. She holds herself still for Lest to draw blood, just grunting at her offer. "Eh, if Tamiel knows then maybe I should have SOMEONE look. Besides, you're Ariel's mom, I'm pretty sure you're above board." Oh how wrong she is.

"Time-wise," she goes back to answering Kyra, "Let's see. I lost a limb once, it took two or three days to be functional growing it back. An arm, at the elbow." She flicks her eyes down to the left arm. "Lungs are still wheezing a little... and it was a sword, about... two inches wide? Got me pretty dead center."
Valentha Summers     Valentha takes a seat by the bedside in one of the available chairs, scooting herself up alongside Kay. She's hardly insensitive to the situation at hand. Being cooped up in a bed REALLY SUCKS. Having abilities you know nothing about also sucks. Being surrounded by people you might not really KNOW? Also sucky. So she does her best to put on a heartwarming and vibrant smile. "Meanwhile, I'll try a magical and spiritual diagnosis! Good luck with the blood, Ellestaria."

After pushing some stray hairs over a shoulder she just folds her hands and focuses her gaze. Focues her MIND and SPIRIT, opening extra senses. A sense where life's seen in arrays of colors and swirling patterns in the mind's eye.
Sakura Haruno     "Oh, Lest. It's been a while." Flowers will mention, lifting a hand in greeting and watching the equipment get set up before returning to staying out of it. At least to a point - the mention of having lost a limb will draw Flowers' attention, but she's going to remain quiet for the moment. Too many cooks and all of those cliches. She'll start digging around in a copy of the medical chart, though, in between glances to make certain Kyra hasn't started doing something incredibly dangerous.

She'll then look over to Berserker, talking to herself inaudibly as she tries to dredge up all the possible side effects of those various servant side effects.
Kyra Hyral     "Estimates are just fine." Kyra admits, "Regeneration powers seem to differ from person to person so your rate is probably as unique as your fingerprints. Hmmm...a sword then." She pulls up the earlier scans, which should give a good idea of what kind of internal damage Kay was facing when she was admitted to medical. "It's pretty amazing that it or...I don't know, maybe something else inside of you was able to keep you going through a mortal blow. I suspect your heart is still damaged and it'll probably remain damaged for the next few days as the regeneration does its work. Probably longer, though, since your heart is actively pumping and keeping you alive."

She looks away from the computer to Kay and Berserker. "Honestly? You might want something to speed up the regeneration on this one to get you to a regular heartbeat sooner."
Kay     Kay hehs, "I wouldn't mind a little help, yeah." She lays her head back and ponders. "It does still hurt, but less than before. I guess that's good?" She isn't on painkillers, appparently. "I don't know the limits, because like... what am I going to do, cut off pieces and then see if they don't grow back? I don't have to be a medical professional to know that's a bad idea, you know?"

Her 'pulse' varies dependent on where it's being read. This is because, looking at the charts, her heart isn't beating. Instead, it looks like her blood vessels are being massaged by her muscles. Might be another reason she can't move. "The thing that worries me is that nobody in our world has regeneration like this. Not even Grigori."
Berserker Kiyohime fans herself quietly. "This is why Master has kept it secret." She's keeping an eye on people, and just peers right back and Sakura. "Please don't look at me that way. I want only the best for my beloved." She snaps her fan shut and folds her hands in front of her, frowning slightly.
Valentha Summers     "Wh-whoooOooooaaay!" Having kept pretty quiet for the discussion, Valenth's sudden outburst might come as a shock. But she scoots the chair back, gripping it with both hands and enough strength to nearly start cracking it. Her eyes are wide, as if she's seen a ghost! "That's not right. That /can't/ be right. Even FAKING that kind of aura is unheard of!"
Ellestaria     "Calm down, Valentha," Lest is still examining the blood, but given what she IS she can make some calls automatically. "Definite signs of alteration, but good news! You're still human, as much as I am anyway. That being, if you should happen to find a-" She stops, glances at Kiyohime, then decides to change what she was saying. "A need to reproduce, you could do so with a normal human. So you're still the same species. The exact adjustments of your body will need a little more research though. I'm guessing your regeneration isn't part of that, though, or there'd be much more dramatic markers."
Sakura Haruno     Flowers will give Lest a slightly odd look at that, but she'll pick up on it after a moment. She'll at least have some theories in the background, though. "It's possible that others have had this sort of power and just didn't want the attention that they would get if it was discovered. There's a little bit of that sort of thing that went on where I'm from." She'll state, avoiding Berserker's eyes now because Kiyohime seems to be a little bit upset with the staring.
Kyra Hyral     "I can try some low-level white magic." Kyra suggests, squinting at the charts, "...uh...wait." she clicks back and forth, then looks at Kay. Frowning, she reaches over and checks Kay's pulse at her neck. Then she checks her pulse at the wrist. "Er, sorry, I need to-"

She bends down to put her ear up against Kay's chest gently. "...uhhh."

She looks to Sakura, "So...what if someone's heart isn't actually beating?"
Kay     "Well, that's a thought," Kay admits to Sakura. "Not really sure if it's common thought. Then again my world has new weird shit popping up all the time." She chews on her bottom lip, then blinks, letting Kyra poke around and look for a heartbeat. "Uh..."

Yeah, let's talk about something else! "Thanks for that, anyway. Being human isn't like... totally important to me, but at least it gives me a starting point. Something wrong, Val?"
Valentha Summers     Valentha's expression is hard to read. Her brow's furrowed and eyes have narrowed, her previous cheer's drained away in favor of a wary glare, as if she's suppressing the urge to just start TWITCHING. Something's wrong alright, she figures. Wrong enough to have upset her typical demeanor.

"How much effort have you spent cultivating your energy reserves? It's like flexing a muscle. The more you use it, the more used to work it becomes, the harder it can work, the longer it can work. The more energy it can keep ready at a moment's notice. You say you run out like anyone else does? That's... that's preposterous. Your magic reserves make MINE look piddly. Your aura is almost indistinguishable from human... but if I didn't know any better..."

She inhales slowly, then folds her arms across her chest, still peering pretty hard at Kay.

"I'd think I was beholding a God here. A powerful one."
Berserker Kiyohime is the one who points out to Valentha, "The bulk of her power is not accessible to her, remember. I am sure that she runs out of what she can REACH and USE, but part of the problem is that the source I draw from is not one that she can use. You're probably seeing that."
Kyra Hyral     She's not really sure how much of a big deal to make out of this. Kay's definitely not undead and she's not going to make any comparisons out loud. How was her body still functioning, she had to wonder, without a beating heart..?

Stepping away one step, she extends her hand and splays out her fingers, calling forth some of her white magic. What follows is a very basic cure spell from her world, which drastically speeds up the recovery of wounds but does nothing to heal diseases, should any be at play.

After that, she turns to watch Val, curious. "A /god/?" Kyra repeats, looking back at Kay, "You think that's really the reason for that huge second resevoir? Hmm...Kay, does your world have gods?"
Kay     "Like I told Kyra," Kay adds. "I have my own magic reserves, and the... whatever you're seeing." She twitches fingers, probably thinking about drumming. She lets out a little breath when the cure spell settles in... Valentha did some, but more helps. "Oh that feels better. Anyway... my own reserves are um... big, but not like... huge. They're really big and I use them for summoning, but say Kyra has more than that, easily."

A god? Kay grimaces, "Not that I know of. Not like what they're thinking. I mean, we have powerful spirits and stuff, but... you think one of them might be hiding in me?"
Sakura Haruno     "Hmm? Well, if their heart doesn't seem to be beating and they're still talking and not dead, there's usually something else going on. A second heart somewhere, or another source of life. Try to see if you can find any leads of energy. It's easier with people from some places than from others, though." Sakura admits, drumming fingers on the sides of her legs. She seems to ignore any declarations of godhood, though.
Valentha Summers     "Easier said than done. There's so much POWER coming from her I can't focus on it. It's BLINDING." Valentha complains just a bit. She is not happy. As a rather accomplished wizard, encountering such a ridiculously contradictory situation like this must have her in all kinds of psychological binds.

She quickly settles for just rubbing her face. "Well. God-like magical power. But for all I know you're am amnesiac god who sealed some of her power or something bogus like that." Not so professional of a thing to say! Valentha's joking though! She even sticks her tongue out a little, trying to lighten the mood.

"Okay, let's see... some other theories. It might be some kind of strange artifact. The power it gives off refills your own quickly but isn't under your control. Or... perhaps this is something you generate naturally but your body can't handle channeling all of it at once... even I could not hope to shape and channel that much power all at once. Not being able to tap into it freely, that may simply be your body preventing you from doing something fatally stupid. An instinctive response to danger you aren't even aware of."
Kyra Hyral     Kyra seems relieved that the white magic didn't have an adverse effect. It's yet to happen to someone but she's always cognizent that it might happen one day. Hopefully it'd be in a place like this where other people can hop in and help.

She falls silent, nodding to Sakura. Rather than taking, she resorts to another bit of basic diagnostic magic-Scan. She seems to be very interested in figuring out that 'muscles moving along the blood in place of the heart' thing that Kay's body is doing because this is uncharted territory-she has NEVER seen such a phenomenon before.
Kay     "Maybe," Kay muses, hearing Val's idea. "I mean, I grew up and had a childhood like anyone else though. I'm not amnesiatic or anything. Well, okay, I don't remember the first three years of my life, but that's pretty normal, you know?" She can move a little better after the healing, but still not much.

Kyra's scan can probably tell that the second MP resevoir is feeding energy into the muscles, forcing them to convulse like that, and also just pouring power into her heart to regenerate it. This might explain why she lacks scars. She offhandedly adds, "It'd be nice if I could control it, I admit."
Ellestaria     "I generally get my energy from external sources," Ellestaria says suddenly. "But if you have that much, there must be some sort of channelling done. I think it might be best if you explored different magic types. Not so you can learn anything useful from the magic, but so you can learn how to tap into that, if it's even possible."

She looks up suddenly. "Aside from the regeneration, have you noticed anything special? Strength, speed, that sort of thing?"
Valentha Summers     "There miiiiight be some exercises we can try. Though I warn, if my latter theory's correct, that's a double-edged sword. Shouldn't be too hard to pin this down a LITTLE further. If nothing else the exercises might help cultivate a greater energy capacity... or they may not." The dragon-in-human-form shrugs slightly. "These things differ between worlds. Shouldn't cause any harm though. How much formal training with magic besides summoning do you have, Kay?" Valentha asks, her demeanor shifting back to more easygoing now that the shock has passed.
Sakura Haruno     "Well, I wouldn't suggest experimenting with anything too much until she's recovered some. If something's keeping her up in spite of other problems, and we disrupt that, it could be hazardous." Flowers points out. After all, no heartbeat is supposed to be an issue under most circumstances. "We can do some things under controlled conditions after that, if she wants to." She'll state, giving Kay a glance.
Kay     Kay just grins at Sakura, though she takes what Lest and Val says to heart. Haha. "Well yeah. I imagine I won't be doing much of anything for a little bit. Don't worry. The healing spells are really helping though. The pain is mostly gone, I just have that weird feeling in my chest from the heart stitching itself together."

That worry put aside, she answers, "Yeah, uh... strength, speed. Sometimes I can see the spiritual stuff that most can't. It's a little hard, but I'm getting better at it. I've learned THAT much. But aside from summoning, I don't really have much magical training. I've been asking around, even thinking of Alexander Academy."
Valentha Summers     "See SPIRITUAL things? Without a spell?" Valentha's eyes go wide again. "Curioser and curioser. yes, we'll have to try some things once you're all hale and hearty again!" The blonde claps her hands together as if the matter is settled... and maybe to draw a little attention away from the pun. A nod is given to Sakura, as if to say, 'of course.'
Kyra Hyral     Kyra makes a faint noise, impressed, "Hm, the second, supposedly inaccessable mass of magical power you have is effectively manipulating every blood vessel in your body to continue circulation. That is /fascinating/. Such biological control...it kind of reminds me of what you're having me practice recently, Flowers. With the fish. It's also actively regenerating your heart. Maybe, whatever it is, it's specialized towards keeping you alive?"

She laughs nervously, "I agree though, this is a bad time for experimenting. I think at this point it's good to let it continue healing like this. And hey, you're always welcome at Alexander Academy, Kay."
Sakura Haruno     "Might be something a bit closer to what I'm used to than what you are." Sakura says to Kyra. "Does it seem like our efforts are assisting it, or interfering with it? That is the sort of thing we probably want to know, the sooner the better, to help her with getting back onto her feet." She'd gotten the impression that it was assisting, but she's wanting to prod her 'intern' into thinking along those lines as well.
Kay     "I've never had a problem taking healing magic, and this doesn't cause a problem either," Kay admits. "I usually just avoid it because it just makes the regeneration more obvious, and like I said... that'd be a dead giveaway something is up in my world. The number of things that can do that are pretty small, and usually stuff like, uh..." She frowns. "Vampires. But maybe Haruno's right and others are just hiding it. My big questions are why do I have it, and how did Tamiel know?"
Kyra Hyral     "Kay's right, it didn't seem to hinder the natural regeneration. It didn't reject it either so I think it this case, it will work to assist in the healing." Kyra says to Sakura, tapping the nearby table with a finger. "You know, Kay, that's...kind of worrying that Tamiel knew about it. You didn't show it to any 'feds, did you? Because it does seem like Tamiel's working with them given the turnout that last mission had."

She holds out her hand, palm up, "Would you like another hit of cure?"
Ellestaria     "If she's working with Lezard and Lu-Mey, that's likely," Ellestaria agrees. "BOth of those individuals have worked with neutral parties before, but this doesn't seem like the sort of thing they'd do mercenary work with. Unless given alternate evidence, it's safe to assume, I think."
Kay     Kay shakes her head, very slightly. "Let's pass on the cure. It'd be nice, but uh... I do want to see how fast I heal without it from something like this, now that I'm out of danger. If I'm still bedridden in a day or two we'll look into more. This is the best way I can test how my powers react to it."

Kay pauses and sighs. "No, none of them knew that. I fought one and showed I was faster than a human, but that shouldn't matter compared to like... how many Elites are like that, right?" She then frowns. "A few months ago, before she died, Fairchild mentioned that Tamiel knew my name, but she couldn't say any more. The first time I ran into Tamiel was even before that... she took one look at me and called a retreat. Ask Beli or Shin, they were both there. I think she's sensing something, and THAT really worries me, because she's never really shown an interest in anything beyond the mission from what I've heard. THough I admit I uh... only just started running into her."
Kyra Hyral     "Alrighty." Kyra drops her open hand. "It sure beats cutting stuff off to test it that way, right? But we should have the staff keep a close eye on you. Just in case that giant reserve of magical power actually runs out while doing that weird biokinesis blood-pumping trick." Kyra takes another quick peek again so she has some idea of the rate that the big power reserve 'spends' energy to do both the healing and the substitute circulation.

"That's super suspicious." Kyra points out, "Tamiel is clearly letting on more than she knows. I wonder if there's some way to get more information out of her...might answer some questions."
Valentha Summers     "Nothing ventured, nothing gained!" Valentha announces, hands going to her hips. She glances around the room for a few moments, then... leans forward, cants her head, slightly, and stagewhispers, "ask her?"
