Momoyo Kawakami      Other than typical boredom, Momoyo didn't seem to get tired too terribly quickly. She did, however, spend time spotting knick-knacks and such in the showers while scrubbing. Screws, mollusks, ammunition casings and the like along with the usual soap scum and wads of hair around the drains. While she did, of course, put her sharp eyes to the walls and windows, most of her time was spent grumbling aloud. In spite of the grumbling and general boredom she was a reasonably diligent worker, to the point the bucket not filled with water was nearly full of trash already after the first hour. "Geez... cranky Admiral... swear I'm gonna spar... make her blush..." her grousing continued as she scrubbed every line. As she said before, she was used to her grandfather being a major pain in the ass about large scale cleaning chores, since there were areas of the dojo only the monks could reach.
Haguro      The orders were simple enough: Scrub the baths from top to bottom! After gathering up the necessary materials, Haguro was hard at work! She held back a little, of course, since it sounded like this was meant as a punishment for Momoyo in some way. The cruiser wasn't about to get in the way of that.

Then again, she isn't completely heartless, and she would pick up the pace a bit after a while to help give their new recruit a little more breathing room. "The Admiral just has your training in mind. Building character, preparing you to be around water for a long time..." She pauses for a moment, raising an eyebrow at Momoyo before stabbing a soapy brush at a stubborn stain on the ceiling. "That would be interesting to see, though... Um. Sparring, I mean!"
Momoyo Kawakami      "She's stronger than me. Doesn't mean she's meaner." she admits, tossing the sponge into one of the several buckets nearby. The problem of course, on examining the sponge, was obvious. She was extremely effective at cleaning the grout right down to it's pristine white state again, even slowly chipping the gray spots out of the floor when she got frustrated. But the problem was the way she scrubbed she was destroying sponges and scrub brushes way too fast in the process. It was her inhuman strength on display, she was just cranky.

"It's fine. It's not been too long since my last brawl. I don't feel alive if I get bored, my mind grows hazy and I get apathetic. But it's only been a few days, I'll be okay." she quips. Tearing open another sponge package with her teeth, she spits the top part into the bucket.

She was thorough and /very/ effective... but not very detailed. She kept having to go back over the borders of each tile, and there was still a good three or four hours worth of work left. For all her speed, none of it helped here where precision and stamina were key for developing discipline. "How did such a cute girl end up with no sense of humor..." she mutters, missing the entire point of the exercise. Last Chancer material indeed, in fact no one that wasn't an officer knew why she was even on-base or what Nagato's decisions were for picking this specific woman for target practice.
Haguro      "Exac-Er... Wait. No... Um. Maybe?" Haguro furrows her brow as she keeps scrubbing away at the stubborn spots, noticing the rather large pile of sponges and cleaning materials that Momoyo has gathered by her. Haguro's own pace is significantly slower in comparison, although she's still working on her second sponge and making steady progress as well. "You don't seem very... Mean, from what I've seen so far. Just a little.. Rough?"

She immediately dips into a brief bow at that. "Ah.. I'm sorry! I didn't mean to offend or anything. Er... Not that being rough is bad or anything. It's just... Different from some of the others." And yet, incredibly similar to others. The Cruiser raises an eyebrow again Momoyo as she mutters to herself, giggling after a moment before picking up a mop and scrubbing at a different spot on the ceiling. It'd probably all blend together once she moved away from that spot for a while!

"Er... Do you mean the Admiral? She has her... Ehm. Moments?" Quite the understatement. "She's just very disciplined and expects the same of everyone working with her, too."
Momoyo Kawakami      "Heh. You haven't seen me fight..." she muses. "You're in the Union so you'll have access to it... look at the video of me fighting Nero sometime. A copy got saved since I wanted to show my friends." she quips.

"Mostly I needed to get away from my school and see another world for a bit, but she transferred me to the school here. I was hoping to just screw around till missions started... now I'm in an all-girl's school studying naval history instead of Japanese history with everything else." she huffs, continuing to scrub rapidly. Soon, she finally gets the first quarter of the baths done, the first few stalls.

"Here's a bit different. I came because I'm not likely to be hurt too badly from the munitions fire during training, so I can be as sturdy as an entire submarine. I didn't want to get bored, so I accepted, the extra hazard pay was good." Using a long handled brush she started scrubbing the ceilings where applicable as well for mold and spots. It seems like she hadn't even noticed the comment about observing her personality, but if nothing else Momoyo wore her emotions on her sleeve.
Haguro      "I suppose... Mm. Still, that was just out of boredom and wanting a paid lunch, right? Not malice or anything.. Er. Hostile, I hope." Haguro made a mental note to dig up that video. Although she doesn't particularly enjoy fighting, that's not to say there isn't any value in watching a good fight. Plus, there's always some entertainment to be had in it.

Listening to the girl's story, the heavy cruiser finally manages to get that section of the ceiling cleaned up before moving onto the next. It has been a while since the ceiling were cleaned so thoroughly, so there's definitely progress to be seen (even if it's slow)!

"Naval history can be interesting. At least to learn from past tactical mistakes and to avoid getting sunk again." Although she manages a strained chuckle at that, it's.. Well, strained for a reason. "If it means anything.. I'm glad you and the others came to help us. I've only returned recently, so I haven't had many chances to really learn how to fight alongside and against people that weren't Abyssals or landlocked." Haguro's starting to pick up the pace in cleaning as well, almost as if she's mimicking Momoyo to some small extent to try and get a deeper clean on that ceiling.
Momoyo Kawakami      "Nope. I can't say I've met a person in the Union yet I didn't like." she replies honestly. "Nero was just being noisy on the radio and I took her down a peg. It was all in good fun... but then more and more people started challenging me to keep their skills sharp. So now I've got two wins to rematch, a draw to rematch, and one guy I want to fight... that guy is as strong as Nagato." She spoke wistfully. Contrary to the hijinks that landed her in the bath scrubbing it to begin with, her voice gleamed with respect for whoever she was talking about. It was the same wistful voice the way some of the girls referred to the male Admiral in hushed tones every so often.
Haguro      See? That just means you're not as mean as you said you were if you're getting along with everyone that well." Haguro actually giggles lightly at that, dunking her mop in a bucket to take a breather before stabbing at the ceiling again. "Otherwise, they would just be avoiding you. And many people in the Union do seem to respect strength."

Maybe that's what she needed. Haguro takes another deep breath before turning to Momoyo, only glancing at the pile of sponges for a brief moment. "Miss Kawakami? Could we spar one day? Ah.. I-if you're not busy or anything, I mean." She needed to see the woman's skills personally at least once. Then she'd have a better idea of how outclassed she was! "I haven't had a chance to face any Elites that weren't Abyssals yet, so... It would be a great learning experience for me."
Momoyo Kawakami      She shrugs her shoulders lightly, dropping the sponge in the bucket. Looking Haguro up and down carefully, started to attend to her aura more closely... "Alright. But it won't be a fair fight if you're not on the water. It's going to be a bit rougher than the tickling I'm going to give those destroyer girls." she gets the radio announcement that interrupts her cleaning with Haguro's. "Wow. What's Naikui like to where she can tick off the Admiral into replacing /me/ scrubbing?" she asks, peering at the headset a moment.

"Guess we're done, unless there's anything you want to tell me about the Fleet. I'll only be here long enough to help out with the training, but then I'll probably have to take care of things back in my world along with finding other opponents... or dealing with the Feds. I have a feeling your Admiral doesn't want me anywhere near whoever the Abyssals are, the way I fight some of the greenhorns will just be collateral damage..."
Haguro      Haguro's personal aura, all things considered, probably wouldn't be all that impressive. Definitely weaker than Nagato, and if her confidence factored into it in any way? It'd probably be even weaker than the destroyers on the base. She tries, though! "That's fine. I don't want you holding back at all, and... W-well, I need to learn how to adapt if I fight someone much stronger than I am, anyway."

The new orders from Nagato draws a confused look from Haguro as well, and she sets her mop back down while chuckling awkwardly in response to the question about Naikui. Is Haguro hiding something?

     Definitely.

"About the Fleet... Mm. We're... Sort of like the opposite side of the Abyssals in a way. When we sink, we become them. And when they sink, they become us." Although she doesn't say it, there's a thinly-veiled attempt to try and explain at least some of Nagato's apprehension.

"I believe that's all... Um. Is there anything you'd like to ask me while you're here, Miss Kawakami?"
Momoyo Kawakami      "One hundred and fifty girls, huh..." she muses aloud, strolling out of the bath. "Nah, I have a feeling the rest will just get complicated. The Abyssals don't know I'm here, but you can bet they'll start chasing me as hard as the Fed when it comes time for me to brutalize 'em." she mumbles. She could tell that Haguro's baseline aura should still be pretty strong, but that she was depressed and that made her overall stamina a bit lower than it should be. In spite of that, she didn't say much, more preoccupied with her own thoughts than teasing her new classmate.

"Nope. The best way to figure out what Nagato is thinking after Saturday is to just do the training. If I can sink all three, she'll probably just get harder on me... but if I can get ahold of stronger opponents that way, I'll learn something new."
