Lina Brand     Zipping onto the station, the Ranger-Mage takes one good breath of the filtered air and sighs, "Ugh, tastes bad... I'm not going to get a good scent with this filtration..." she muttered, footsteps tapping along the metal ground. As she walks, wind picks up around the Ranger and with a swirl of leaves, Lina and her equipment dissapears into thin air, "Ranger Skill.. Vanish." she gives a bit of a sigh, a shrug, "Too bad the range is closed, would have loved to practice my skills."

She peeks around a corner and pulls out her bow, notching an arrow into it. "Probably can't use Quake or Comet here..." comes some self commentary, "That's okay... now..." *sniff sniff* "Where is my prey..." she whispers, slowly walking around the hallways to try and stalk the intruder...
Rebecca Chambers     Where is the prey, Lina Brand asks? Where exactly is her prey? That depends on if you consider Rebecca Chambers to be prey of some sort. Of course, with Lina being Confederate and Rebecca being Union, that might just be the proper way of looking at it.

At first, Rebecca tries to keep herself as low profile as possible, trying to avoid being seen as she enters by using a hacking tool to break through a locked door. She's trying to make her way through the halls in hopes of finding any enemies and taking them out so she can secure the base for the Union.

All the while, she's keeping an eye out for possible security cameras and things of that nature. One slip-up here and who knows how many guards would be on her like white on rice? She tries to keep crouched as much as she can, peering around corners before turning, things like that.
Lina Brand     "Wonder if it's human..." she whispers, the Ranger's eyes looking around as she turns one corner just to spot someone else turning the other. Lina's lips turn into a smile as she replaces the arrow with a different one, one with a larger arrow head on it. "Welp, here we go..." she starts running towards the hallway, while her visual appearance is masked, her steps are not so she could be heard coming. "SO, prey... what are you doing?" she questions, "Or shall I say... what will you not be doing while I'm here..."

Lina keeps up her invisible status for now, the moment she fires that arrow is the moment she re-appears, so she still has at least some element of surprise. "I do not think my boss or the Confederacy has given anyone else any access to this place, now, can you tell me what you're doing or shall I electro-net you and have you tell me THAT way?" the feeling of magic permiates the air, a spark and the Ranger hides behind one of the corners again, peeking out with her bow, aiming it... One wrong move...
Rebecca Chambers     Rebecca's senses are on extra high alert as she surveys the general area, gun sweeping from side to side as she checks every possible spot for possible enemies. She stops occasionally, thinking she's heard something, only to have it just be a product of her imagination. True, she may be a bit paranoid at times, but it's for good reason. Of course, when she hears the footsteps, Rebecca points her gun in the general direction that they're heard coming from. "Who's there?!" She yells out.

When Lina speaks, Rebecca steadies her aim at where she believes her target is, narrowing her eyes a little. The dialogue from her enemy seems to tick her off since it sounds a bit sarcastic. "I know the Confederacy didn't provide access to this place, I didn't think they would to those they consider enemies. And what I'm doing here is of no concern to you! But if you want to get violent about this, then it looks like there's going to be a bit of fighting between us!" Rebecca's not versed in the ways of magic, but she senses what's happening, and when Lina takes cover, Rebecca darts behind a nearby crate for cover. Loading a clip into her Beretta, she checks to make sure the safety is off and everything is ready. Then she slightly peers out from behind the crate, waiting carefully as she aims with her Beretta.
Lina Brand     "Well, I'd rather not get violent here, miss. So I'm letting you leave with just a warning. My boss won't be too happy you're snooping around here so I'll just pretend you didn't come here and all will be good. You leave without firing a shot, I leave without injuring you. We both leave with ammunition available and a sense that we might... might just be allies in the wrong place." Lina's not the best when it comes to diplomacy, but some unintelligable words are spoken and Lina's Protect spell washes over herself. A just in case measure.

"Besides, machinist, do you think a gun is better than a bow?" a light, taunting giggle, "But if you want to fight, I don't mind showing you that archery is so much better than your gun, machinist." She'll give Rebecca just a few moments to decide, a bit of a sporting time. "It's your choice, lady... either leave and not get injured or stay and ... maybe... get hurt pretty badly..."
Rebecca Chambers     "Leave without firing a shot?" Rebecca's eyes go wide. "You must be kidding! I know that this property belongs to the Confederacy, and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that you must be working with them if you're snooping around here!" She pauses and her eyes dart from side to side. "WHEREVER you are!" Her voice takes on a slight tone of annoyance. The annoyance becomes even more evident when she's called a machinist. "A MACHINIST?!"

That's a new term for Rebecca, but whatever it means doesn't matter, since Rebecca's mighty annoyed now. "Look! I don't care what you think about my weapons, but I can tell you right now that I am well skilled in the usage of firearms, and even if you think your bow is superior to mine..." She narrows her eyes and steps out a little more, her Beretta still trained on the original spot, "It doesn't matter if you're not skilled enough to use it!"
Lina Brand     "I tried to make it easy for you, but if you insist..." A gust of wind and leaves swirl to reveal the archer in full draw, an arrow with various inscriptions on it looks charged up with electricity. "Well skilled in firearms? Let's see if that's going to hold up for you!" she gives a bit of a hum and lets the arrow loose, then dashes off while pulling out another arrow. o O (Okay, ranged weapon, high stopping power. Protect should get me by... I hope.) goes through her head.

The arrowhead pops open in mid flight to reveal a large net that sparks all over... a taser net! "Shocking attack, isn't it?" she smiled, hoping that her aim was decent enough for that to land as she pops out again for another aim, four arrows in her hand and notched... ready to fire once more.
Rebecca Chambers     "I'll have you know that I've dealt with many things that are a LOT worse than you!" Rebecca says, now scowling deeply. "And if you thought making it easy on me was gonna work, you--" She stops abruptly as the electric net makes contact with her, and she really gets the shock of her life! "Ow ow ow ow!" She cries out, her body twitching a little as the electricity goes through her. When she recovers for a moment, she pushes through the net, glad that it's no longer there.

"You should've just surrendered peacefully! Because I'm gonna show you what happens when you mess with a member of S.T.A.R.S.!" With her gun retrained on the target, Rebecca fires a single shot.
Lina Brand     The gunshot is made and the girl dives for cover, the shot smacking into her side. Thankfully, the protect spell made it a lot less lethal, but noticable that a defensive barrier was in place with a hexagon pattern flashing from where the bullet hit. She makes a wincing face and feels where the gunshot hit... a bit of blood. "Regen... Haste..." she muttered, the wound slowly closing up and a red outline comes across her, quickening her moves, "Well if I can't dodge without it, might as well."

th amazing speed, three of those arrows are put back and the one left is drawn as she takes aim towards Rebecca's head, a small chant is given and some dark magic is put into the arrow, letting it loose quickly, running to get a bit more distance... if the arrow hits.. anything... a small gravity well will open up and crush anything that's drawn into it... "You might wish to dodge..." she offers as a helpful hint to what should be coming... "Or it may end up bad for you!"
Rebecca Chambers     Rebecca turns to take cover behind the crate, but when she turns, the arrow hits her in the side of the head, knocking her to the ground. "Aaah!" She cries out, landing in a prone position, her gun sliding away a little. "Unnngh," She comments, carefully removing the arrow from her head before applying First-Aid Spray to stop the bleeding and dull the pain. At the same time, she's running to grab her gun again and make sure it's in usable condition. "That was real smart, Becky!" She comments to herself, before turning to face the direction where her target was. Unfortunately, it seems Lina is trying to run away, at which point Rebecca takes off after Lina. "Come back here!"

The opponent is rather fast, most likely due to the fact she's glowing red or something. "Running is of no use!" She adds, firing another shot to emphasise her point.
Lina Brand     The chase is on and that gunshot gets a good hit on the Ranger as red splashes against the wall and that hexagon where the bullet hit glows, her side drips just a bit as the bullet is pushed out and the wound is closed from that previous Regen spell. She pulls out one of her arrows once more and she twirls around, running backwards as she takes aim... this time, it's at the chaser's legs! Some quick chanting later and the arrow starts glowing blue and brown... "I shouldn't use this here, but..."

Lina takes a flip into the air, wincing from the pain from doing that, only to launch the dual element arrow. Shes' not aiming to HIT Becky with this, but when it hits the ground in front of her, it shakes the entire station and small ice pillars shoot up from the ground to try and spear those legs! "You're pretty accurate!" she shouts towards the woman, "But I have more options!" at least, she hopes this will slow down the gunner...
Rebecca Chambers     Rebecca stops short of the arrow, her reflexes guiding her properly... or so she thinks, until the frozen spikes shoot up and impale her legs. She yelps in pain, finding her trousers ripping and now revealing bloody wounds. She applies some more first aid spray to stop the bleeding, but she's still pretty beaten up from the previous injury. Still, she refuses to give up. She continues to pursue Lina, ignoring the dull pain in her legs.

"Just give up already!" Rebecca shouts as she reaches into her sidepack and pulls out a flask with a bluish substance in it. It appears to be some kind of volatile chemical with ice-type properties. "Here, let me give you a taste of your own medicine!" The truth is, it's a substance used in ice rounds for grenade launchers. If Lina is caught, she'll be feeling the chill rather quickly!
Lina Brand     Lina shakes her head a bit, running a bit more, "Sorry, can't stop now... I gave you the chance but you didn't want to take it so why should I give it up to you?" she laughs a bit and turns around... only to see that flask come her way. She fires an arrow at it, but it goes a bit wide from the snap fire, so she skids to a stop and shifts her body just a bit, the 'grenade' explodes and the ice-type properties of the chemicals freeze her jacket and cause a few frost burns on her body...

Lina shivers a bit and takes a quick look at Rebecca and launches a single arrow towards her chest, green fangs seem to appear on it and try to chomp into the gunner, and if successful, poison should course through the woman's body... Snakebite... an archer's best skill for poisoning people. "You gi... give up now and I can cure that for you!" she shouts out, crawling over towards a hallway, can't keep herself that exposed...
Rebecca Chambers     Snakes... why did it have to be snakes? Unfortunately, between the encounter with the Yawn in the Arklay Estate of Raccoon City, as well as a recent incident in the amazon region of Brazil-874, Rebecca's got a real huge disliking of snakes. It might not be a real snake, but it still hurts like crazy! As soon as she feels the pain and senses the stinging sensation, Rebecca quickly pulls out the arrow, noticing a slight hint of something that shouldn't be there. Quickly spraying it and bandaging the wound, Rebecca pauses to make sure she isn't poisoned.

A few seconds pass and Rebecca's still steady on her feet. "I've had enough of this!" Unlike Lina, who's crawling right now, Rebecca's still trying to run, although there is a slight limp in her running as the injury to her leg is starting to hurt again. "Remember that shocking thing you did earlier? How about one of my own?" Rebecca yells as she draws her stun baton and attempts to strike Lina with it.
Lina Brand     The whacks with the stun baton don't exactly stun her but the electric attack does sting quite a bit... but, this does open Becky for one thing. Sneaking her hand aside, letting herself get hit to distract the eyes of Rebecca, she pulls out her Wing Edge, a wing-shaped dagger, and she proceeds to shove it at Rebecca, "Get off me!" she pulls the dagger out again, it starts glowing red and she stabs once more to allow a Fira magic attack to explode out of the dagger, hoping to set Becky on fire!

Regardless, she crawls back to her feet and starts running again, sheathing the dagger and pulling her bow out again... "Damn... she's quick... and regen's not working anymore..." she looks back... and shakes her head, not enough time to cast it....
Rebecca Chambers     Well, when you're hot, you're hot and when you're not, you're not! Unfortunately, poor Rebecca's caught on fire now! She pulls out the dagger quickly then rolls on the ground in an attempt to extinguish the flames quickly. "Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!" She curses between frustration and pain. She doesn't mind a few blisters, but anything more serious and she might be out of action for a few days until she gets some skin grafts done. Hopefully, though, it won't be like that.

"You're pushing it now!" Rebecca says, trying to take off after her target, but she stumbles and falls, her legs getting weaker from their injuries. "Dammit!" She exclaims, trying to get up but only making it to one leg. Desperately, she fires in hopes of slowing her target down at least so she can catch up.
Lina Brand     Lina smirks, "I offered you the chance!" and when that gunshot hits her legs, she trips up and falls flat on her face, skidding on the metal floor before hitting a wall. "Ow... ow ow ow ow..." she shakes her head and scrambles to her foot... a bit of magic later, a cure spell is given and the wound on her leg closes. "Battle cure... but it'll have to do.." she shakes her head, bracing herself up against the wall. The red light dims and dissapears and the hexagons shatter... her spells have run out of time. "Nngh, not good not good.."

Lina pulls out four arrows and stares at Becky, it's now or never really. With quick, innacurate precision, the ranger looses four arrows in a quick barrage of ranged might, the unaimed nature of these might not provide the best... but it'll hurt at least!
Rebecca Chambers     When you're aiming at someone, it's best to be steady. Because as it stands, Rebecca's able to dodge a couple of the arrows. The other two barely graze her. She grits her teeth a little as she says, "Where'd YOU learn to shoot? Didn't you say a bow is better than a gun?" She asks, struggling to catch up with Lina. She also fumbles with loading a new clip into her gun.

When she sees that Lina is up against the wall, Rebecca decides to try a new tactic instead. She tries to move in closer and then attempts to lower her shoulder for a shoulder tackle!
Lina Brand     "Barrage isn't even supposed to be accurate." she retorts, as that shoulder tackle slams her up against the wall once more, getting the wind knocked out of her, but at this clsoe of a range, and the fact she dropped her dagger a ways back... "Nnngh... A bow is still better than a gun." she smirks, clutching onto the bow tightly, "I really didn't want to do this... didn't want to risk damaging the station but ... you're bringing me no choice..."

Words quickly fly out of the Archer's mouth, waving the bow like a rod user would do and a pair of holes come ripping into view. "Doublecast. Comet."

What starts flying out of the two rips in space come thousands of small rock pellets from space, aimed towards Rebecca... "You really... don't know who you're messing with..." and as soon as the first one finishes, the second one starts firing off more of those rock pellets, the pride of a Red Mage, Doublecast!
Rebecca Chambers     There's something coming at Rebecca, and it's coming at her fast. So she does what she does when there's something like this happening. She ducks down and makes herself into a small target, curling up into a little ball in hopes that she won't get hit. And somehow it works. Most of the magical attacks miss her. Only a couple actually hit her, meaning that the hits she takes are mostly minimal in damage. Still, this proves just how dangerous her opponent truly is, and she knows that she needs to take care of her now.

"Normally, I wouldn't resort to these extreme measures!" Rebecca yells as she opens her sidepack again. "But you leave me no choice!" She takes out a small chemical flask, this one with yellowish-brown liquid in it. "Take THIS!" She yells, hurling the flask near Lina. Why near her? Simple, the contents are very volatile and flammable. Meaning that throwing it at the ground could cause a small, but notable, explosion!
Lina Brand     Lina frowns... the fact that her best spell didn't do much. She's going to have to hit the books for this, then... that explosive liquid is tossed and it covers the girl in a shower of fire and shrapnel, trying to keep her body covered from the heat and flame... she shakes... rolling... how to deal with this. The Confederate bands are alight with kill her... but... she hasn't killed an actual person before. She shakes her head.. dagger's away... so she reaches back for an arrow... and it starts to glow a bright yellow.

She slowly gets up, wobbling a bit as she takes a few steps forward... the charged arrow in her hand glowing that evil looking yellow color... "Haste...." she whispers, glowing red once more... "Protect..." and those hexagons come into play once more... "I'm sorry..." she mutters before dashing forward to jam the arrow into Becky's chest, allowing the twin thundara spells, if it even penetrates, to course through her body and shock the entire system with magical lightning... she's trying to stop the heart... or make it explode one of the two. "But... they said... for you to die." there was hesitation in it, visible hesitation about going for the kill that Becky could probably pick up on...
Rebecca Chambers     The arrow jams into Rebecca's chest and the lightning surges through also. Rebecca goes down to the ground and begins convulsing rapidly as blood begins to seep from her injury. She cries out and attempts to reach for her gun, but the metal of it only increases the electric shock. Crying out even more, Rebecca is helpless against this assault of a stab wound with electricity going into it. She somehow manages to press the button on her wrist device to teleport away.

Normally, Rebecca would be making a one-liner or sarcastic remark about how they were lucky, but she's too busy being electrocuted. In fact, just as she pressed the button, she lost consciousness! If she hadn't done that, she might have wound up dead after all! She will consider herself lucky to survive even if she failed the mission.
Lina Brand     Lina backs away a few steps after the stab, watching the convulsing woman as she goes down. "I... I didn't... I'm sorry..." she whispers, backing up against the wall and watches her teleport away. She slumps down against the wall, staring at the pool of blood. Did she ... did she kill her? Did she not? The uncertainty is has her panicking... "Where... did she go. I need to see if she's okay... I ..." and she slumps even more, bringing her knees up to her head...

    And there she starts sobbing...
