Rizudori Tenno Chinatown, San Francisco, Supernatural Earth. To anyone who's seen this particular section of the city, it'd look mostly familiar: the architecture, narrow streets and alleys, and the general look of the east sitting smack dab in the west is rightly preserved. What /is/ different is the populace: Supernaturals straight out of chinese mythology blend with tourists both human and non-human alike, forming an eclectic mix in a world where the modern world and myth bleeds together in an uneasy coexistance. It's a warm night, roughly eight o'clock when the relative peace is shattered.

One of the many restaurants' doors is kicked in, and four individuals wearing jeans and t-shirts walk in, firing oversized AK-47's into the air. Two of them are blue-skinned, two others red skinned, and all four of these men bare massive horns, stand eight feet tall at least, and have 'Equal Rights for Oni' emblazoned with sake bottles on the backs of their t-shirts. They reek of booze and desperation. Screams ring out, and minutes later, twenty employees and patrons of the Green Dragon restaurant are tied up and huddled together. The police respond.

Ten minutes later, three cop cars have been flipped over, and the two remaining officers who weren't simply bodily thrown out by the massive Oni were huddling behind their remaining car. Pot shots with their pistols proved useless against the tough skin of the Supernaturals.

One of the Oni looks out, and picks up a loudspeaker.

"GET THE SENATOR DOWN HERE! AND A TRUCK FULL OF WHISKEY! EQUAL RIGHTS AND BOOZE FOR ALL ONI AND SUPERNATURALS! NO MORE HUMIE SUPREMACY!"

Agent Rizudori Tenno pulls up in a black sedan, and quickly ducks out of the car. There's no shooting this time, but at least there's another barrier for the cops. The woman nods to her Union companions, and walks over to the cops. A badge is flashed.

"Hey. SRA, Agent Tenno. We'll take it from here. Just keep your heads down."

She pulls out a loudspeaker, even as she lets the others file in beside her.

"THIS IS THE SUPERNATURAL REGULATION AGENCY! COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP AND LET THE HOSTAGES GO!"

The building itself has one exit in the back, and one in the front. The back exit connects to an alleyway that only turns back onto the street. As Rizudori yells out?

Bullets come flying back. That sedan gets lit up, but its armored sides hold true. It's not going anywhere, though.

"We've got one way in, one way out. Try anything you have to, just don't kill hostages or the perps, got it, everyone? If one of you is stealthy, we could use eyes on the inside." Every now and then, bullets start to pepper the air and cars randomly, the oni at the front door seemingly more interested in intimidation than actually hitting anyone.
Mel Brock     Out of deference to the locals, Mel Brock isn't here in her Chaser. Instead she's decided to ride along in the Sedan, though she's there fully kitted out with her usual 'hostile situation' gear. Bullet-resistant clothing, PCS-3 sidearm under her coat, and... well, that's just about it. She slides out of the car just after bullets start to ping off its armor, calmly sliding her hands into her pockets. "Let me take a shot at this, see if I can talk them down."

She steps around the car, and begins calmly approaching the front of the building, raising her hands in the air. A bullet or two seems to 'ping' off the air near her - because she's quietly raised a telekinetic wall to protect herself, both from stray shots and concentrated fire. But she's not actually going on the attack. "Hold your fire, I'm not coming in. Name's Mel Brock, and I'd like to talk with you gentlemen. You mind sending one out to speak? I promise I'll stand in punching range."
Xiaomu Xiaomu would probably have done well to read up on the political situation in Supernatural Earth before volunteering her assistance in dealing with a violent protest, but she's never been the type to skip the lab because she hadn't done the assigned reading. Besides, when you have oni raising a ruckus, said ruckus needs to be quelled BEFORE extra civilians (human or otherwise) get mauled or worse, instead of catching up on the legal details of whatever's going on.

Mel speaks up to be the 'negotiator' before Xiaomu can really decide what she's going to do to contribute; she doesn't consider herself particularly stealthy, but - well, all of those bullets are going to get on her nerves, or worse, if the oni stay trigger-happy like this. After a few seconds' consideration, Xiaomu just walks up to stand next to Mel, inclining her head briefly to the human woman.

Xiaomu is *not* shielded or otherwise protected, though, unless Mel deliberately extends the wall to cover her. As far as the oni might be able to tell, Xiaomu's just a blonde in a black qipao and a red vest, with a Buddhist monk's staff ... unless they actually notice the vulpine ears poking out of her hair.
Maya Maya is again just chilling out, she's been trying to go out, see new things, that's really it. She'd honestly wanted to get some Chinese food and pick up a few things for a cooking experiance that Jun and Uncle were plotting. So here she was casual is ever that's ll she was here for she looked only slightly out of place at least untill the gunplay started and she's just stopping there holding on to her shopping bags and staring.

"...They did not just...! Can I not go a day without something like this?!"

Maya's eye twitches as she goes toi find a safe spot to put down her food and go for her fate deck.
Mel Brock     Mel most certainly extends the shield to cover Xiaomu. It's a minimal extra effort on her part.
Kazuko Kawakami      Kazuko's excited, to put things lightly. Why wouldn't she be? It's her first real mission as a Union member! She's done her best to make a good impression, though, sitting quietly in the back to try and look calm to her more experienced (and probably taller) superiors. That said, she also did a bit of gawking out the window, though, with her leg tapping against the floor at a mile a minute.

She does settle down by the time they reach their destination, though, and she's quickly hiding behind cover when those bullets come flying. "Whoa... So this is the kind of stuff you deal with!" She's excited again, and she snaps her hand up in her best attempt at a salute towards Rizudori while keeping her naginata down with the other hand. "Aye aye, ma'am! If they've got guns, then..."

Seeing Mel heading out to actually try and speak with the shooters, Kazuko watches her nervously and has to a double take when Xiaomu goes out after her. "They're not even...? Alright, then!" With little recourse of her own, the student waits for a lull in the gunfire before dashing out from behind cover, moving... Away from the building? No, she's circling around the entire block at a breakneck pace, trying to get to a better position in the alleyway to watch the exit for movement.
Reina Kinney     Reina's here checking out the local cuisine and things like that. Partially due to the fact she wants to try finding a new place to take her new 'little sister' Renee to once in awhile. She was enjoying things so far, thinking that this would make for a great day trip with her new little buddy. At least things seem good so far, until the gunfire erupts, and Reina immediately tilts her head in the direction of the gunfire. "Sounds like I picked the wrong day to go sightseeing," She says with a mixture of sarcasm and frustration in her voice as she takes off running towards the sound of the gunfire. Her boots click on the ground fast as she rushes into the area.

As she gets closer, she spots Xiaomu and Mel Brock, the latter of whom she doesn't recognize. Nevertheless, Reina speaks loud enough to be heard but not too loudly to alert the others that she's approaching and not to be alerted, before advancing slowly and steadily, keeping her eyes forwards. Her hands are empty for now, but she can summon weapons if need be.
Inga Freyjasdottir One wouldn't think that someone dressed like Inga is could possibly blend in here, and yet, no one seems to have even noticed she's around until she walks into view, leaning on a wooden staff, dressed in a long dress belted at the waist and a cloak with fur at the shoulders.

Bullets fly, and Inga frowns worriedly, moving toward Rizudori. "I have a charm of concealing that I could perhaps use to enter the building. I understand the creatures within are...spirit folk of some kind?" she asks, drawing the little knife from her belt. "Still, it is quite possible it will work if none within are particularly...learned in the magic arts," she offers.
Rizudori Tenno Xiaomu and Mel are quickly met by the very same Oni that's been inside of the restaurant. He points that gun menacingly, the barrel easily half the size of their heads.

"HAH! You think I'm stupid? Yer a 'sune and yer probably a halfie! Just because we Oni are strong, doesn't mean we're just gonna let you use whatever weird powers ya got in yer blood!"

Then, cue a round of warning shots aimed at Mel's and Xiao's feet! A few stray blasts start going for Maya as well!

There's a single Oni at the alleyway as Kazuko circles around, but not looking all that attentive! Seems all the fire fighting out front lets Kazuko slip up! She could easily pounce on the inattentive hostage-taker that's smoking a cigar right now!

To Inga, Rizu grins. "Yeah, Oni are big brutes. Smart a lot of the times, but brutes. No magic. Give it a shot. If you can distract the front door guy, we can get in here. Aw, crap!"

And then Reina comes in, rushing into the area. The Oni start to raise his gun to her too, and Rizudori has had enough.

"THAT'S IT! FIRING AT CIVILIANS! I'M TAKING YOU DOWN!" Reaching into her suit, she pulls out a vial, jamming it into her arm. Around the woman, fiery wings spring from her back, feathers sprouting from the edges of her suit's ankles and sleeves, her neck soon covered in burning feathers.

"Do what you have to. We can't just let people get hurt!"

Then, she draws that massive firearm at her side, and points. A shot goes off with the sound of a cannon, and the Oni out front goes sprawling as a rubber round takes him flat in the chest. He groans, but already he's getting up, reloading his weapon.

"Get in there!" She offers to those still beside her.
Mel Brock     "Oh for /fuck's sake/-" There goes any chance of resolving this without violence. Reina gets a brief glare. Rizu gets a much sharper one. But things are moving far too quickly for Mel to afford any berating over the record-breakingly quick downturn of the situation.

Mel's hands shoot downward. The blacktop under the oni buckles, cracks, and then rips free. She lifts her hands. It floats up into the air. She twists them around, it turns over to roughly dump him on the ground. And then she slams her hands downward.

The result of that is probably obvious. "I suggest you stay down this time."

Then she's turning around and charging into the building, already pulling out her sidearm and dialing the output up. Those things are tough; she'll be able to take it up fairly high and still hit with force that's nonlethal for them.
Inga Freyjasdottir The wisewoman nods to Rizu as she explains, her expression thoughtful as she quite casually draws her thumb along the endge of the blade she holds, a line of blood forming. "Very well. I will sneak inside and see if I can protect the hostages. I will place a ward if I can...then, have at it I suppose," she says, reaching her thumb up to begin drawing a certain pattern of runes upon her opposite arm, chanting quietly to herself as she casts the charm of concealment.

Inga doesn't disappear in a cloud of smoke or go suddenly invisible. But eyes seem to slide away from her, never settling on her. If one didn't know she was there, they wouldn't think anything of it. Even those who have already seen her might find it very difficult to keep track of her or remember where she was.

Now, she simply walks up to the entrance. She may not be the first in, and that's quite alright, better if someone else clears the path and helps Inga avoid notice until what she plans has been accomplished.

If she makes it successfully inside, Inga immediately tries to locate the hostages and heads toward them, hoping they are conveniently all huddled in the same area.
Kazuko Kawakami      Where's a cardboard box when you need one? Kazuko nearly slams on the brakes as she spots that Oni, but... Is he even paying attention? Grinning at her good fortune, the martial artist keeps her pace going and dashes right at the oni before using the naginata to launch it and herself high into the air! Moving quickly, she twists herself around in midair before aiming a diving kick right at the oni's face!.

Hoping that the oni's still conscious after that, she'll even try to shove both her foot and the naginata's blade close to the big brute's throat. It's blunted, of course. High schoolers can't be running around doing combat demonstrations against other students with sharpened weapons, after all!

"Where's your leader? You only got five sheconds, shee?" She's speaking in a raspier tone than normal, apparently trying to channel the spirit of some old-timey detective to carry out her threat.
Maya Maya dead pans at the monsters.

"Really? Is this how it's going to be?"

Maya's going to have to hit the ground hard at this point and she moves to get up having been missed. She doesn't seem keen on fighting in her civis either. For sher taps an almost unnoticable liuttle hair clip that was givin to her long ago. She doesn't even care about her personal pride at this point, nope the Onu have pushed a button. There's suddebnly bright flash of pink light, covering her body, as her clothing seems to be made of energy, and bit by bit her normal leather and metal outfit takes shape and soon it comes to an end leaving Maya in a sentai like pose. Robin is likely laughing their ass off somewhere but Maya's put it to good use she now got her cards out and she'll end up doing what she needs to do to cover the peopple here, and thus she casts a hast spell on her self. The card glows bright red as blue fire bleeds into it from her, and then Maya starts moving with some Blurring to try and help people get clear of this insanity before she'll go after the Oni.

Xiaomu Xiaomu's left eyebrow starts twitching before the additional bullets fly; her left hand clenches tighter around her staff. Other than those, she *does not budge* even with bullets flying at the pavement around her feet. Sure, Mel's barrier is probably going to keep her safe, not that Xiaomu is necessarily aware of the protection before she's being saved from unnecessary bullet holes.

"Did you SERIOUSLY just call me a kitsune? Or even a *half-kitsune*?" Xiaomu's voice starts out very nearly too quiet to hear over the violence being administered by her allies, but starts picking up in volume quickly. "Just how stupid are you? Do those horns go right through what an armchair mortician would mistake for your brains, or something?" She starts walking towards the spokes-oni, her eyes burning with fury. "Do I even *LOOK* Japanese to you, you mountain-bred moron?!"

She smacks her staff's butt on the pavement, causing the rings threaded through its headpiece to jangle against each other, then takes the staff in both hands and twirls it rapidly before raising it over her head and swinging down at the oni --

And conjuring a MASSIVE block of ice with Suiren's imbued magic, leaving his head unimpeded but otherwise trying to encase him in too much ice to move a muscle. And all of that while paying (just barely) enough attention to her allies to avoid walking into anyone else's line of fire, literally or figuratively.

"I'm a *HULI JING*, you idiot! If you're going to complain about people discriminating against *YOU* then you could at least try to get OTHER people's heritage right!!"
Reina Kinney     Reina had been trying to keep a low profile, but apparently it didn't work. Mel may not be happy with what just happened, but now is not the time to be worrying about what other elites think. Namely because it's time to take some action since the others are doing so. She snaps her fingers and a rifle materializes in her hands. Unlike most rifles, it shoots energy blasts, and has a scope attached to it for long distance shooting as well. Whether it will work against these supernatural beings is anyone's guess, but Reina's willing to take that risk in a situation like this.

First there's Mel rushing in with a lot of power, then Xiaomu gets peeved and uses ice magic as well. Reina decides to, once she's sure that she's no longer being shot at, since her shields can only sustain so much damage before they give out, steady her aim at the oni that Xiaomu is going after. She doesn't fire just yet though, rather she's leaving her aim trained on the oni in case it tries something funny, either to her or Xiaomu.
Rizudori Tenno The poor oni is lifted into the air, slammed down, then covered in rock. The oni doesn't immediately get up. He /does/ groan, however, the hit being a rough one. As for Rizu? She doesn't even blink as she's glared at. Indeed, the woman's used to other law officers giving that look to her.

And that Oni definitely /doesn't stay down, pulling up a bit of rebar from beneath the street as he rises again. Gun dropped, he takes a baseball swing at Mel and Xiaomu!

Thankfully Inga easily gets into the room. All of the hostages are against one wall, with one blue and one red oni watching over them. The red one turns as the sounds of fighting is heard from outside. The blue one remains, guarding the hostage! She could take the blue one by surprise as the red one runs to engage those outside!

Outside, Kazuko leaps to kick at the Oni! And then shove that foot and blade to his throat! What an amazing kick and strike! ...It leaves a footprint, and a very annoyed blue oni looking down at Kazuko. He grins.

"Heh heh. Yer cute." Then, he simply reaches down, trying to grab Kazuko by the arm, and throw her bodily out of the alleyway and into the street! Seems she'll have to hit harder than that!

Maya then enters after her henshin, leaving two oni outside to face people, with one Oni inside! She sneaks past the blue one initially, letting two of the hostages slip out, before the blue one turns around and starts firing a massive shotgun at her! The rounds burn!

The two oni outside finally turn the car into mulch after so much gunfire, and Rizudori smartly flies into the air. Distracting the new one, she makes a rush for him, firing bullets and swiping with her cutlass! The two collapse, the Oni's chest cut, and Rizu shot straight in the chest several times. The Agent lands in a heap. The hurt Oni, however, rises...but shakily at that! Both Oni are hurt, and one officer is down! But in comes Xiao with her ice block! Encased in frigid pain, the creature falls to the ground, frozen!

The remaining Oni looks more than non-plused.

"Er...sorry Miss Huli Jing." Yes, the oni actually sounds shamed about it. It could be a chance for Reina to fire!
Inga Freyjasdottir Matters are quickly going south. Once these creatures see that they are not going to get their demands met, they may well harm the hostages. Or, they may try.

Inga moves to wear the hostages are kept, stopping for a moment to take a quick look around, thoughtfully tapping her fingernails against the wood of her staff. She looks between the oni and the hostages, then nods to herself, closing the distance between herself and the hostages.

Standing in front of them now, Inga takes her knife out again, this time gauging a rather deep wound into her inner arm. The blood rises into the air, blurring the concealment charm, releasing it's effect. But it's too late. The blood begins to circle. "Come away from the wall a bit," she says as the ring of blood glows with the anima she fuels it, producing a magic circle around the hostages. "There we are. Now stay," she tells the likely terrified people, shaking her stick slightly before she turns toward the oni.

Of course, the hostages are safe, but now Inga is no longer concealed and in very close proximity with a large brute of a creature.

She purses her lips. This is probably going to hurt.
Kazuko Kawakami      All that commotion from the front doesn't go unnoticed by Kazuko, and she's got half a mind to hurry around back once that Oni's down for the count. Unfortunately for her, not only is he not down, but he actually withstood her kick head on! Literally. She kicked him right in the face!

"... Ehe. You're strong." She's practically mimicking his expression, giving the oni an annoyed grin. She hops back rapidly as he reaches for her, unwilling to let him get a hold of her so easily. "Bad demon! Didn't your parents teach you better?"

Spinning her naginata rapidly now, the tiny fighter focuses some of her ki into that spinning as she dashes straight at the Oni this time. "If just one isn't enough... Then try some of these!" The spinning polearm almost looks like a solid object with how quickly it's moving, and she's aiming to just bludgeon the crap out of him with it!
Xiaomu Xiaomu looms for a few more seconds before taking a step back and - slowly and deliberately, by all appearances - relaxing and reining in her temper. "The name's Xiaomu. And I sort of understand where you guys are coming from about trying to stand up for your rights, but ... honestly? Raising the kind of ruckus that brings the police down on your heads isn't going to do your cause any favors; you need to at least *try* to demonstrate through peaceful means instead of jumping straight to taking hostages. There are some humans who've been pretty smart on the subject, I bet they've been around in this world's history too."

The layers of ice encasing the oni begin to literally melt away, leaving enough of a shell to keep the oni's arms relatively immobile. If one of the cops needs to put cuffs on him, Xiaomu will assist with that as well as she can, but in the meantime she continues talking. "My world's got some problems with supernatural beings not getting along with mortal humans either," she admits. "I'm on the mortals' side back home, though - mostly because Shinra puts as much emphasis on protecting youkai from humans as protecting humans from youkai. I'm guessing you guys don't have that kind of mutual protection, if there's that much discrimination. Just how bad is it really?"

She pauses, glancing back at Agent Tenno before looking to the captive oni again. "And we've got a local expert here who can call you out on it if you try and lie to get me on your side," she adds, smirking.
Reina Kinney     Reina continues to watch through her scope as Xiaomu proceeds to make conversation with the oni. She is surprised that Xiaomu has literally (excuse the pun!) cooled off so quickly, but Reina isn't the type to take chances either. She's been berated by Laia many times to know that lesson far too well. Her finger eases off the trigger, but she doesn't remove her finger entirely.

"I'll admit, Xiaomu," Reina mutters with a slight smirk, "You're great at making conversation with those you'd least expect to be able to do so with. It seems I've underestimated your true abilities." Up until now, Reina has only known Xiaomu as a Huli Jing (yes, Reina's done her homework!) who was an elite with a bg fangirl side to her. But apparently she's got a knack for dealing with oni too. "She could teach me some things sometime!"
Maya Maya is able to get in and help getting people out, she's got two people out. However that's the end of that for one of the Oni have lined her up in his shight and he's firing blasts at her. She attemps to dodge but there's no way to dodge all oif it. She's clipped she's not got an injury that is bruning, ands she's looking even more inhappy.

"You really are pushing it big guy. Is that gun compstating for something?"

Maya's not happy at all here, hopefully the planned insult will give her a bit of an edge in her fight. She has a fate card out now and there's the blue fire again but this time a focused torrent of water is launched from her off hand at the Oni as Maya attempt to close in.
Rizudori Tenno Inga soon has a ward around the hostages, and the adults mostly manages to keep the younger ones quiet. The people of this world, at least, are used to strange events like that. Not a one scrams.

Except the Oni. "Raaaah! Stupid humies! Down with ya!" That guard-oni draws an oversized handcannon, larger than even Rizu's, starting to fire off at Inga! A single bullet is enough to tear a table in half as it misses!

"Hey! I'm an orphan ya springy little humie!" Comes Kazuko's opponent, aiming and ready to fire! But then she comes spinning for him, ki around her naginata as she comes in like a spinning top! He gets plowed right into, gun broken in half, only to be sent to the ground! He smacks into a wall, big bulk making a crater in the brick wall! Another Oni down!

The officer in question slowly stands up, fire flaring around where she was hit in her chest. Bloody wounds from gunshots are already sealing up as the half-phoenix recovers. She nods to Xiao, even as she aims the back of her cutlass right for the oni that's dazed and still standing's back of the head. Whack! He stumbles, and she's going for handcuffs. It seems Reina won't need to fire just yet!

The oni now being compliant speaks up.

"Where ta start? The law is on the humie side! We Supers can't get jobs as easy, can't get education as easy, and when ya get in trouble? Get sentenced twice as hard! Cops always watchin' ya, and Agents like that can shoot ya dead if they want to!"

Rizudori sighs. She's not denying the state of her world. Not standing still, however, she'll toss handcuffs to Xiaomu and heads inside. Maya's fighting after all! The woman's blast of hydro power slams right into the creature, sending him as well right into a wall! He groans, barely conscious, but aiming his gun right for Inga! BLAM! A rubber round right on the arm, and his gun falls. Slumping forward, the last oni goes down.

"Everyone okay!?" She calls out on the radio, even as she nods to Inga and Maya. "Gather up the hostages make sure no one's hurt."

"All clear inside!" She calls to the others.
Inga Freyjasdottir Inga knew this was going to go badly for her. Why exactly didn't she place herself /inside/ the protective circle again? Bit of a mistake, that. Thought perhaps she might get out of this, if she is very, very quick...she /has/ been training with a certain wizard that has faced down quite a few beings much larger than he.

So Inga speaks a word and thrusts her hand forward, blasting out with a wave of pure force...but would it be quick enough to avoid being splattered all over the wall?
Kazuko Kawakami      That revelation from the oni actually makes Kazuko feel kinda bad. Not enough to stop her from ramming him into the wall, but she does prop him up against it instead of just letting him fall face-first on the concrete. "Really? Me, too... Well! Once you're outta prison, come to Kawakami City. We'll find something for you!"

Is he even conscious? She actually sounds sorry as she says that, but it still doesn't change the fact that he still broke the law. The least she can do for the oni is let him down on the ground gently, making sure he's not bleeding too much before stepping back to keep watch over the door and pressing a finger to the headset by her ear.

"Kazuko, reporting in. Back door is clear! I've got one with me, so I'll keep an eye on things over here unless you need me inside." She pauses for a moment, then continues. "... Who are these guys, anyway? What's gonna happen to them?"
Maya Maya looks over to Inga to make sure she's okay, super natrual regeneration or not, she doesn't like to see an ally get hurt. She grins to Inga and Kizudori.

"Now if only my food's surived this mess. I should be able to salvage tonight. Oh my name is Maya by the way."

She seem to relax, pull out a new fate card and go off to heal any of the hostages who migyht need healing.
Xiaomu Xiaomu catches the handcuffs, nodding to Rizudori. "Well, the other thing in my world is that most people still don't openly know that the supernatural exists and is a real thing ... seems like this world doesn't have that luxury of not knowing, though. And I'm guessing 'first contact,' whenever it happened, wasn't particularly peaceful - humans have probably been running scared of supernatural types since day one, and fear breeds discrimination in a hurry."

She cinches the cuffs shut around the oni's wrists. "Dunno what it'd take to get a lawyer from my world to qualify to take cases like yours," she admits, "or I'd see if I knew anything that could help - or anyone. All I know is that big social change takes time ... and unless you got saddled with a mortal lifespan or shorter, you'll outlive most of the people who got scared of you today."

She walks back to stand in front of the oni, possibly helping him to his feet in that process. "Of course, if the whole idea is not to be feared, then do I have to remind you that charging into a restaurant with guns a-blazing is only going to make mortals *more* scared of you, not less?"
Reina Kinney     Reina lowers her rifle and shrugs a little. "Seems they got things handled here. Good thing too, as I'd hate to get my uniform dirty on a day that I was already off to begin with." She runs a hand through her hair but retains her grip on the rifle just in case there are any more surprises. "As for my sightseeing tour, I think I'll give this one a pass!"
