Nightblind Mackenzie had forwarded directions to her apartment -- both street level and from the sky. Just in case.

The building is beautiful, steel and Solar Pannel glass, thoroughly modern, bright and letting plenty of light in. There's solar pannels even on the roof, allowing for not only extra sunlight -- but also for concealed entry.

Her apartment was six below the penthouse. It had a balcony to look over the city filled with placement for potted plants and a few hardy evergreens in large pots. The door was simply labeled "Jennings, M. PhD.", and there was classical music eminating from the apartment.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis is driving his motorcycle as he looks at the HUD on his helmet as he rides into Stonegate. Stopping by a store, Terry got a small gift for MacKenzie and a gift for Ella. Arriving at the apartment, he parks his motorcycle and activates the security system as he gets off of it. Removing his helemt, he looks around and heads inside and looking at the names, goes to the correct floor and smiles as he sees someone and just keeps walking. He probably seems out of place, as he had just left Beacon Academy and did not bother changing.

Knocking ont he door, Terry waits to be allowed to enter as he stands there, a gift of flowers for Mackenzie and a gift for Ella.
Nightblind     The lobby was pretty swank itself, with a well kept man behind the counter who offered to give Terry directions to someplace that was not that building, but when a little light lights up on the side, and he waves Terry by.

Mackenzie's voice can be heard over a speaker: "Door's open!" she calls out.

Mackenzie is pulling the last of the cookies out of the oven. the place smells like cinnamon and caramelized sugar, and there is a simply massive pile of cooled cookies to one side, a variety of cokies wrapped six to a bag with names on them in sharpie. A record player is in the corner, kept up as the music gracefully fills the air. The apartment is light and airy, plenty of natural light. An altered, open kitchen looking out to a livingroom with mostly bean-bag furnature, a flatscreen TV on the wall (though it's not even plugged in). Below, dark is beginning to fall, the last of the sunlight painting the gray buildings across the street in muted reds and violet. The countertops here are all altered to be much shorter than a normal kitchen -- likely in anticipation of its occupant.

Mackenzie herself is at the oven, taking out another pan of cookies, and holding it above her head (and out of her own way) as she wheels one-handed to a cooling rack.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis Looking, Terry opens the door and blinks, "Hello," he says as helooks around the apartment. Seeing the cookies, he looks and walks in, shutting the door. "You must be Mackenzie," Terry says to her as he walks over and grabs the cookies, "Here, let me help," he comments as he places the cookies on the table. "So, how is she?" he asks her in reference to Ella as he offers the flowers to Mackenzie, "I thought this would be a good gift for ya," he mentions and looks at Ella. "You should have called me," he says to her.

Looking around, he removes his jacket and places it on the back of a chair. "I noticed that you are a doctor," he states as he thinks. "Do you need me to help you with anything?" he asks her.
Nightblind     Ella's nowhere to be seen, just yet. She might be in another part of the apartment -- the place is huge. Just the livingroom, dining area, and kitchen is easily the size of the apartment Terry grew up in, and there's several doors and a long hallway. It might take up half the level of the building. "You must be Terry, AKA 'the big scary guy with the winged rats'. Nice to put a face to the voices." Mackenzie titters as she lets Terry take the cookies (with a 'careful they're /hot/!) and reaches for a hand towel. She wipes off her hands, wheels herself over and offers to shake hands and accept the flowers.

"Oh! You didn't have to bring anything, but thanks! I'll get these where they can be tended to --" she begins, and draws over to the sink. "And, to be frank -- I had no idea you were in the UNion, in the business, or really how to get in contact with you... so... hard to call someone I don't know, right?" she laughs.

She reaches for a board and a knife, and glances around , her lips pursed a moment before she wheels backwards and reaches under the sink to grab a vase.

"I'm a PhD, yeah. Medical engineering with a specialization in physical handicap equipment, dual-major with computer science and biological programming when I was... eighteen I think?" she pauses, glancing up. "Yeah, yeah about eight years ago was the ceremony." she smiles. "And nah, I'm good. I've been at this a long time." she motions to the chair, and then procedes to cut a new edge onto the flowers.

"A little research brought up that you're studying medicine out in Gotham. What's their program like out there?"
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis Nodding, he looks. "Wow," he says to her. "It is good, I am in my last semester, but it has been rough, with all of my late night activities," he mentions with a grin as he looks at her. "It is pretty good, as they have a lot of tech due to being in the Multiverse a few years, but things are ok. Since there are different Gotams in one location. But outsdie of that, it is ok. Why I help out at union Medical. But I have skill in other areas too. A lot of skills," he mentions with a grin.

"I have been trained to be a detective, field medic and chemist. Wit my medical training I have created a cure to that HK Assassin droid poison. I am good at acting and can con my way out of situations," he comments. "Plus I am good at figuring out things, although i had no idea Ella was Nightblind," he mentions. "Plus I am good at taking on more than one person." he adds.
Nightblind "'A Lot of Skills', huh? Are you flirting with me, Mr. McGinnis? Because trust me, it takes a lot more than a few skills to make me turn my head." Mackenzie interrupts, and she listens as he explains Gotham, more than one in one location -- must be hell for anyone driving a taxi. She begins to consider the logistics of 'which fifth street do you need?' and trying to regulate the whole of the taxi industry beneath one banner when the whole thing was three, four different versions of the same company.

"Well... Ella keeps being Nightblind to herself. If it wasn't for the fact that I made the armor and the array that lets her see, then I probably wouldn't be in on it either." Mackenzie replies, putting the flowers in a vase. "There, how pretty." she compliments, and then she rolls over to the counter, poking at the cooling cookies.

"Well, you certainly had me fooled. I was genuinely surprised when a voice I wasn't about to attach to a face other than 'scary sounding' over El's headset coming over the radio. Very neat. I don't suppose I could take a look at the suit -- might come up with some cross-grades on either side." she replies, leaning back a moment and stretching her arms.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis grins at that, "Its what I am to do," he says as he looks around. "So, hhow long have you and Ella been doing this, and does Al know too?" he asks her as he thinks, "I do not think that would be an issue, but even I do not know about the suit. When I got it, it was 30 years old and was high tech then. It is probably, almost 40 years old and still state of the art.," he says to her as he thinks. "I can say that it is a combination of techs, Kryptionian and the tech the old man has. But outside of that, it allows me to lift up to 1700 pounds, has an optical cloak, and a lot of other neat features that come in handy." he adds.
Nightblind "The mobility of it is what I"m curious about, to be honest. Ella has to wear almost eighty pounds of gear -- looks like your suit's much lighter." Mac replies as she wheels to the fridge, and she picks out the milk, and then to a low cupboard where she takes out a couple of glasses. She sits the gallon in her lap and moves back to the counters, and she purses her lips a moment, and pours for the two of them. "Have a seat." she motions to one of the low stools around the low counters, and she slides a plate of cookies -- look to be chocolate chip -- over to the caped crusader (who does not have a cape!), and leans back a moment.

"Well..." she begins nervously, and pulls apart a cookie. "Ella nad I have been doing the vigilante thing, regularly, for three and a half years?" she thinks a moment, "And no, Aliyah doesn't know. She thinks she drops Ella off here for... ah... other reasons, I think." Mackenzie blushes a moment, and rubs the back of her neck "Which she doesn't approve of, so she doesn't look too much into it. I'm pretty much the only one who knows the full scope of what keeps 'Nightblind' running."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis grins and sits as he looks, "Its light weight," he says to her as he grins and stands up. "Do you have a batroom I can use?" he asks her real quick.
Nightblind Mac blinks a moment, and glances at the cookies questioningly, then back at Terry. "YEah, down the hall, first door to the left."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nodding, Terry walks down the hallway and into the bathroom. He spends a few moments in there and returns five minutes later with an item folded up and he smiles, "Thank you," he says to her as he sits back down and places the black material on the table. "Allow me to introduce you to the Batsuit," he mentions as he gestures to the fabric. "I can wear it under regular cloths, and it offers partiial protection from both physical and chemical hazards, caustic chemicals, concussive force, ballistics, fire, lasers, electric shocks, water or air pressure and small doses of radiation," he names off.

"Additionally, it also conforms to the physiology of the wearer, and can offer chemical analysis on various substances, just by dipping the a fingertip into whatever. Has a sensitive touch microphone on index and middle fingers that allows me to eavesdrop through solid surfaces or at a distance. Electromagnetic pads in the soles of the boots to allow me to attach to certain surfaces, retractable claws in finger tips to either cut or for climbing and other features."
Nightblind     Mac peers down the hallway curiously, and when he returns, she's put the flowers on the table and done up a few more packages of cookies, including two marked 'BATMAN' with I and II after the title.

She wheels over to the non-chair spot of the table, and questioningly looks at the fabric as it's set down. She doesn't touch it. She does, though, look at it, then curiously at Terry,a nd then back to the suit.

"You know, I've heard of giving the shirt off your back, but this is a bit ridiculous." she replies as she looks at it curiously... "Is... it seriously just referred to as 'the batsuit? Not like 'the nightarmor' or..." she begins, and she pokes at one of the hands a moment, curiously considering the refinements she could make. "What's the fabric composition? how much power does it take to run? How do you recharge it?" she questions, "can you hook it up to computers for a hardline or is it entirely wireless? What frequencies does it utilize to transmit signals? Can it be hacked from the outside?"
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis blinks, "Its something the old man has not told me about that it runs on, but he built a lot of things, including the Justice League satellite and a lot of the stuff they had," he mentions. "Yea, Batsuit," he says. "It is charge via a port ont he bag, and that is how it is connected ot the Batcomputer int he Batcave," he adds. "It cannot be hacked wirelessly and the fabric is a mixture of fabrics, that I do not know about. The old man likes keeping some things to himself. It doe snot take a lot of power to run. Its got firewalls and the like that even the best hacker would take weeks if not months to get past. Only once has the Batsuit been hacked," Terry mentions.

"That was when Robert Vance was able to download a program of himself into the batsuit. It took me piercing the suit with a steel bar and then connecting it to a magnetic machine and it deleted the program and everything of Robert Vance, who died 30 years before."
Nightblind Mackenzie gives a wry smile. "What I wouldn't give to get into that suit and see what it would really do... ah..." she gives a soft sigh, and draws the hood up a moent, fingering the fabric. "I don't suppose you could hook me up with this 'old man', I'd like to pick his brain a bit on the subject. ANything to help Ella move a little more easily, but /man/ this certainly isn't eighty pounds of kevlar." she murmers quietly. "It would be an awesome thing, this stuff's genius. I'm probably ten, fifteen years away from squeezing all this into a suit, but it'd probably still weigh like, a hundred pounds for the power source. Even distributed over the body that's a lot of weight to haul with her weaponry." she takes a breath, and then picks up the arm, and waggles it "Though if you were simply wantonly throwing /my/ tech around and explaining how it worked, I'd probably be mad. Think some cookies would tide his anger over?"
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks, "He is not much of a cookie fan," he says with a grin. "I can help you into it, but it will not help you walk. However, it will let you see what I see when I wear it," and he grins as his voice changes to Batman, "And it doe snto ahve a voice modular to alter the voice, you have to do that on your own," and he changes it to somethign completely different, "And the best thing is, how to do it based on what you want to be or who," and he speaks normal again.

"When I found out that Ella was Nightblind, was when we met on that roof and I think I scared her, cause I did somethign that causes people to fear The Batman, I summoned thousands of bats and they circled me," he says to her. "The old man took something that people fear and used that. When the Batman arrives, people run cause the rumors are he cannot die," he adds. "But if you want to try it on, I can help you," he mentions to her.
Nightblind "Oh, it's not about the walking... I mean, accessability is cool, but it'd require the growing of a new spine and hips and the basic rebuild of my entire nervous system in order to actually walk again, without having to rely on an exterior aparatus." Mackenzie replies, and she laughs. "And I don't think it'd fit me, I'm great at the support, not so great at the action. You should ask Stark about that one." she admits, and she leans forward, listening to him a moment as she leans her chin on her hand, and her eyebrows rise up.

"Hold on, you decided to do something that you knew scared people to someone without telling them what was going on, and were you surprised when she might have reacted badly?" she inquires, and she sits her other hand under her chin. "Do... do you need tips for picking up girls? Because 'summoning bats without telling them that you are summoning bats' might be a no-no." she offers as a joke.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks and gulps, "No, it wasn't trying to pick her up," he says as he blushes slightly. "We got talkign and we talked aobut why we did what we did and I mentioned that I use fear and showed her. I think i might have overloaded her visor, and I think you might have been watching when the bats arrived," he adds as he sighs. "I did not mean to hurt her feelings, when she was troubled. It has been a few years, since my arrival here in the Multiverse sinc eI was last in a releationship and I spent a lot of time with school, more than worring about finding a girlfriend... ALthough, I think Ella might like that, but ..." and he thinks.
Nightblind "Well." Mackenzie looks at that blush, and her eyebrows rise up as she leans back in her chair a moment, steepling her fingers as she considers his words. "To be fair, because the visor operates on a similar idea of a bat's echolocation, it probably did mess up her ability to see -- which is disconcerting in itself -- but she almost broke way back when she lost her dad. I didn't know her then, but she wasn't in the public eye at all for two years because she lost her vision. She was adapting to relying on her touch and hearing." she takes a deep breath, and gives a shrug. "She was desperate enough that she was willing to coerce strangers into... doing some pretty unusual things. The only family she has in the entire world is her incredibly vile and self-centered mother who on occasion tries to steal her estate by taking her right to attorney, so when faced with something she didn't think she could handle... well."

Mac dunks a cookie in her cup of milk,a dn then chews on it thoughtfully. "Let's just say Ella asking for help isn't her nature."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis nods as he listens, "I understand," he says to her as he thinks, "I have also been lookingn at a way to help her see again, rather by magic or technology or whatever," he states. "I got her a pair of earrings for Christmas, and they have a special thin to them," and he looks. "I talked to Twilight Sparkle, and she enchanted them. When Ella puts them on, she will be able ot see, only in the colors blue and grey. But they will give her some sight," and he thinks for a moment.

"I am sure she likes me, but I think what I did put a sour taste in her mouth," he adds as he looks at her.
Nightblind     "Well, that's not bad. She sees in the blue-orange spectrum when she's wearing the Echo array." Mac replies, and she takes a deep breath. "I don't think she's worn them, mostly because she's pretty leery of accepting gifts from strangers. I mean, unlike me who welcomes them into the house, but hey, you wouldn't be a bad guy to have over if you were on the Union channels, right?" she offers a small grin, and rubs the back of her head. "You seem pretty focus on helping Els out. Good on you, but don't forget all those Gothams, needing their Batmen. Batmans? What is the proper term for a group of Batman?" she considers a moment, and then there's a soft 'thump', followed by a few choice curse words.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks "Just Batman," he states as he looks and hears the thump, "I am guessing she is awake," he mentions.
Nightblind "No, no, there's a whole multiverse out there where there's likely multiple people. A Congregation of Batmen. A flap of Batmen. A Cape of Batpeople?" she inquires, and then she purses her lips.

And Ella appears. Her hair is askew, the braids all over the place. She leans against a wall, looking dazed, her pupils different sizes, her dark eyes looking in an odd, weirdly different directions. She feels along the wall until she comes to a corner, and makes a calculated turn as she steps across the room. Mackenzie just puts her finger to her lips to Terry.

All Ella has on is a cheap athletic T-shirt and a pair of boxers, bare feet sweeping in front of her, as if testing the air before she bumps against the counter.

"I can hear you, you know." she mumbles, "And I can smell the cookies. You didn't have to."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks and starts to move and is standing up and stops when Mackenzie and slowly and qietly sits down, grabbing the batsuit and moving it. He keeps quiet and looks at his suit and wishes he had it on, cause he could just cloak himself. But for now he sits adn stays quiet.
Nightblind "I wanted to, didn't have to." Mackenzie replies, and she gives a shrug. "Your coffee went cold when you abandoned it six hours ago. Want me to make a new cup?"

"No, I'll be fine." Ella replies and she sweeps her hand about, coming up behind terry and stopping just short. She pauses. She takes a deep breath... and then her eyes squint slightly, giving a stern expression in Mackenzie's direction.

"Was there a visitor? I can smell flowers... and something else. It wasn't that guy from accounting, was it? What's his name, Claudio? With the weird growl to his voice?"
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks at Mackenzie as he holds his breath and raises an eyebrow as he looks at the flowers and then up at her wit his eyes. 'This is not gonna work if she wants to sit in this seat', he mouths to Mac.
Nightblind     Mackenzie just waves to Terry an d gives a shrug, and that's when fingertips might graze Terry's shoulder and Ella gives a start. "/WHAT THE--/" she begins, and then embarrassedly draws backwards, turns, and walks into a counter and begins to topple over. "/Goddamnit Mackenzie!/"

Mackenzie laughs. "This is what best friends do, take notes, McGinnis."
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis gulps and stays seated and thinking, looks, "Thanks Mackenzie," he says simply as he sees that Ella is about to fall over and is moving and grabs her around the waist and catches her and stands her up and looks, "Sorry, Mackenzie invited me over," he states simply as he looks at her and that she is laughing. "Perhaps I should go," he adds as he looks at Ella and then Mackenzie.
Nightblind     Mackenzie had stopped laughing when she realized Ella was not in a good mood, and she wheels from the table to try and help -- though Ella is caught by Terry. She immediately closes her eyes, stopping Terry from seeing the akimbo pupils, and she turns away from him. "If I had known someone was here, I would have at least put on some clothes." she mutters crossly, reaching for the counter to pull herself up. "Mackenzie's humour is a bit... weird sometimes." she admits, and Mackenzie puts the brakes on her wheels, and reaches to help Ella up. Not that Terry would need any help. "ANd naaaaaaaah you're fine!" Mackenzie gives an embarrassed grin.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks and smiles, "I have been caught in worst," he mentions as he looks. "Mackenzie came on while working on your outfit and we talked. She invited me over and said that oyu were a sleep. At least you are ok," he mentions. "Plus I told her to call me if somethign happens and I'll be here," he adds as he smiles.
Nightblind     "Apparently, something must have happened," Ella replies staunchily, while pulling herself away from Terry's grasp "Or else you wouldn't be here..." she turns, her head 'looking' in Mac's direction, "I'm going to hop in the shower, and then I'll have to call for a pick-up. Do you need me to run over any of the updates?"

"Nah, Ella, I know. Big function tomorrow." Mac gives a smile. "I'll shoot Aliyah a text." she agrees, and then, as Ella turns, blindly reaching out to make her way across the livingroom and to the hallway, leaving Terry in her wake.

Mac leans back, and then puts her arms behind her head as she looks over at Terry.

"To be honest, some days I can't tell whether she likes or hates me. I think today though, it's like." she gives a smartass smile.
Terry McGinnis     Terry McGinnis looks and nods, "Ah, and nothing happened really," he adds as she walks off. "I have no idea really," he comments as he puts the gift he had for her, Ella, on the table. "Can you make sure she gets this. Its not much, but it is something she might like." and he grabs the batsuit and folds it again as he grabs his coat and thinks. "I would ask what type of function, but I do not think I would be welcomed at it," he comments as he stands there and thinks.
