Ainsley     To create a living tome. Ainsley obviously didn't have the capability to do it just with her own magic, but she had the ways to make it as refined as she possibly could. She wanted to know what animates old magic tomes and to figure that out, she had to find anything relating to the very idea of bringing to life that which does not have life. This led her to a library after some digging that quietly, but proudly, archived a few old documents pertaining to the art of resurrection and creating life. If they were genuine, it would be a huge step forward in her research.

And so, on a rainy, thundering afternoon, she pulled a book from a shelf in her search for something usable. This caused a small journal to drop at her feet. She picked up the journal, flipped through it, and considered the contents. She was quick to discover that they were the notes of one Victor Frankenstein, the concept of creating the 'perfect' human. Although she was only interested in animating things that were not typically living in the first place, she was fascinated. She flipped through the pages with enthusiasm. She delved into what she was reading. And she got to a strange part, somewhere in the back.

She read it out loud. She even tried to emulate how Frankenstein himself would've said it, though she adds a bit of dramatic monster movie flair to it. A sweep of her hands, passionate and manic, speaking words she isn't entirely aware are magical in themselves. She figured that, maybe, it would animate the books around her, considering her nature. She tried to focus on that, but instead it resulted in a flash of thunder, an electrical BOOM so close to the library that it blew out several windows and floored the lizard lady. A circle shone nearby from a mage that had prepared it, but never got around to the proper summoning.

She had finished the words. The summoning was complete. Magic had been provided to fuel it. But she was a little stunned and she had no idea what just happened. She had no idea she had just summoned a Servant... that she had summoned a Berserker, on accident.
Frankenstein     It's that fatefully prepared summoning circle that shines as the words are finished, the same one attached to the words spoken by the lizard lady from the book she picked. Another flash of thunder hits close, that electrical boom, then the flash of light that reveals, for just a couple seconds, a woman of red hair and white, ornate dress standing upon that circle. Pale eyes behind the red bangs look out towards the front, white gloved hands gripping a large metal rod with an even larger metal ball on one end.

The being steps forward, groaning softly as she approaches the prone lizard lady. An arc of electricity sparks up between the bottom of that large mace and the fin on her left side of her head. "Nnnngh..." she groans out once more, looking down. The white-clad woman slowly kneels down, trying to get a better look of Ainsley, her head tilting slowly to one end as the large metal ball comes to rest near, and its here that she speaks...

"Are... you... my... Master?" comes a monotoned, female voice from the white-clad woman, another spark of electricity jumps again and she asks a second question. "Are... you... the... one who... summoned me?" the heterochromatic eyes peek out from the red hair, sad, empty looking eyes staring down at the prone lizard lady... awaiting the answer.
Moonlit Saber With three servants from her Grail War coming to her attention in the past few weeks, Saber has been on alter ever since she healed from the encounter with Rider. She may heal quickly, but it was never at all pleasant. But now, with the possibility of more Servants being summoned, and with Caster still unknown, she's come to her own Fuyuki City.

The thunder is ominous, but it's that feeling tugging at her senses that tells Saber that something is very wrong. "...Master. Another Servant was just summoned." She has no idea which one, but the unmistakeable feeling of a Servant coming into being relatively nearby is thick in her head. "We should go investigate." Saber glances back at Kazusa briefly before closing her eyes, summoning her Mystic Robe around her and both her sheathed swords to her side. Once equipped properly, she takes off running toward the direction of the library. Of course, she has no way of concealing her presence from being detected by Berserker, either...
Kazusa Ujikane     "E-eh-?!" That's not something that's very reassuring to hear. Not on a night like this. It's pretty ominous, in fact! But Kazusa nods, giving her Servant a little nod and reaching up to adjust her glasses. "Y-yeah. Yeah, we should. Let's go." As they start running, she tugs her own raincoat around her more tightly, and reaches into her purse to start looking over cards... only to realize that she currently has none loaded for combat. Aw /crap/.
Ainsley     Everything was still ringing and unsettled. Ainsley is approached by something. Someone. The voice is muffled while she gets her senses back. She's disoriented in more ways than that, though. She hadn't expected to actually bring something into existence, having expected yet another failure. The shock is clear in her eyes as she slowly comes to understand the situation. Although she is full of confidence these days, something like this needs some time to process.

Staring dumbfoundedly at the lady before her, Ainsley props herself up to a seated position first. Her bright blue eyes squint for a second, to make out details in the gloom that she can't otherwise spot. Oh no. She summoned a Servant. She didn't even mean to. She frowns to herself with a deep frustration -- how did she keep ending up in odd situations like this? -- but then gathers herself up to a stand, taking a confident posture and deciding to just roll with it.

"Yes. I summoned you." A beat. She realizes that this is Frankenstein's Monster... her brow knits. Rejection is not an option. It would probably mean her death. And just letting this Servant loose would be an even worse idea. "I am your Master." Having weighed the pros and cons, she thinks it's better not to let someone with ... different priorities snatch up this newly summoned magical being. It doesn't even occur to her that this is not the same monster as in the stories she's familiar with.

She holds out her left hand, tentatively. "And..." She thinks for a beat. "I want to see your wish fulfilled. I have no stake in the War myself. You wanted a mate, another like yourself, right? We can make that a reality." At least, that's a major idea in the stories, perpetuated through the many interpretations.

She smiles at Berserker, trying to show some genuine kindness. Really, it's a calculated move, too. Best to make this one as happy with her accidental Master as possible.
Frankenstein     The woman gives a brief nod, "Thank you, Master." she groans out softly, a brief smile upon her face before looking at the extended hand. "You... have... none of... your own?" she questions, only to return a nod at the offering to see her own wish fufilled. "Then, I ... shall be with you... until that time... comes." though, that hand is still giving her a curious look on her face, "I shall..." she starts for a moment, the kindness being shown to her stirs up something, then a sense of unease...

"Something is coming." a pause, "Servant." she turns towards the broken window, then back at her Master. "I.. shall .. deal with it." she mutters out, "Follow.. so you... don't get... hurt." and with this, the Berserker does what any good Berserker does. She runs towards the wall, bashing it open with the large mace, creating a good sized hole in the library's wall for an emergency exit. Right next to a door marked EXIT.

Standing a few feet away from the 'exit', Berserker stands there, the rain pouring down on that wedding dress, sparks flying off the fins upon her ears and the horn. The Bridal Chest's large orb sparks a bit. Rain wasn't the best for her, but she will have to deal with it, for now her Master is in danger... and that was a problem that will soon be rectified.
Moonlit Saber "Stay back until you find the right card, Master." Saber doesn't yet know that Kazusa isn't ready, but at least shw knows better than to drag her Master into combat before a card has been loaded. "I am unsure the nature of the Servant, only--"

And then the library gets a new door, right next to the existing door. "This may be a Berserker," she says flatly. It's not a bad assumption, but it is a worrying one. Berserkers were always so strong, and it was raining... That means Kusanagi's effectiveness was down as well, with all the water getting in the way. So it's to be the Masamune, then. Saber draws her katana, glancing briefly up at the sky. Of course the stormclouds are making this even more difficult.

Rather than charging immediately, Saber holds tightly to her katana, leveling a cool gaze over to Frankenstein. "Berserker, I presume. I am sorry, but I cannot allow you to put my Master's life in danger." Muscles tense briefly... then she darts forward, lifting her sword to strike!
Kazusa Ujikane     "R-right-!" Kazusa is at least able to keep pace when Saber runs within human limits; she's been getting more fit with all the adventuring! She's also been getting more sharp on the reaction times. Sharp enough that when their prospective foe does her best Kool-Aid Man impression, Kazusa is diving behind a nearby parked car before she realizes what she's even doing. She's learning!

She's also completely helpless to actually support her Servant, aside from supplying more prana.
Ainsley     Oh NO--

Ainsley can't get out a word before there's a huge hole knocked into the library's wall. She visibly wilts in disbelief at the action, mouth hanging open for a second. After that moment of animated unhappiness, she starts to follow the Servant out into the rain, frowning up at the cold. "R-right..." Into the thick of it, then! She has to supply prana to Berserker... and that strain can already be felt. It was a dip in her energy at first, that she soon gritted her teeth through.

Getting outside, the lizard woman spots a Servant with a katana. She squints to try to discern which Servant this is supposed to be. Is it one that she knows of? It's obviously a Saber... she might be able to rely on a bit of honor keeping this from getting unnecessarily bloody. That said, when she draws her longsword preparation...

    "... what?"

Put her Master in danger? Is that what she said? Is this all for self-defense? Ainsley cannot abide such a misunderstanding, and so she calls out with a loud bellowing cry, a bit of panic on her face at the fear of this turning into another tragedy.

"WAIT!" she holds out her off hand pleadingly, at both of the Servants, while her voice booms through the rain and thunder. Wow, she can get really loud when she needs to be.
Frankenstein     The servant shows herself and Berserker's eyes visibly scowl. "Saber." she whispers, "I ... cannot... allow the same..." she grunts out and meets the charge with one of her own. "LEAVE!" she bellows out, a loud, groaning noise is bellowed out with the Bridal Chest sparking from the drops of rain. The sound of metal, high heeled greaves making thunderous noise on the ground in the parking lot of the library, the grinding of the large mace's metal orb on the ground as Berserker preps it for a large, heavy swing...

She lifts the Bridal Chest up and uses the forward momentum to take the blade into her body, only to allow the large mace to swing forward towards the Saber in question that threatens her Master's existance. "LEAVE! LEAVE NOW!" comes another bellow, the rain soaked dress having a splotch of red upon its side and a cut. She readies herself for another strike, but upon hearing her Master, she looks back for a brief moment... doing as ordered.

    "Master...?"
Moonlit Saber That first strike wasn't a mortal blow, mostly by intention. With a Servant as strong as a Berserker, she was sure that she couldn't kill in one strike anyway, so a testing attack was safer.

What she was not expecting was her opponent to just stand there and take the attack. Saber's eyes widen as the mace is swung forward, and she quickly pulls her katana back. But wet, unfamiliar ground is not optimal for avoiding attacks at close range, and the Bridal Chest clips the side of her head as she leaps back, echoing a CRACK through the night. She staggers back several steps, fighting to remain on her feet, but something gives her pause. It's the voice of the other Master, and the fact that Berserker listened to her. Saber doesn't lower her guard at all, but at least she waits a moment, gaze flicking quickly between Berserker and Ainsley.
Kazusa Ujikane     Wait?

Did the other Master just yell 'wait'?

More importantly, hang on just a goshdarn minute, that /voice/.

Kazusa pops out from her hiding place immediately, practically vaulting the trunk of the car. "Saber! Saber back up! Th-that was-"

She's running out into full view, trying to put herself on display, because that was-

    "Ainsley?!"
Ainsley     The initial strike actually landed, but it didn't end in death or dismemberment. That's good. Ainsley grimaces at the sight of blood and violence in front of her, happening before she can do much to stop it. The grimace doesn't look like much on a reptile's face. This expression melts into surprise again when she hears Kazusa.

    "Oh."

She lowers her longsword immediately and advances over to Berserker's side. She stops to rest a hand on the Servant, checking the wound. "Hmm..." She looks at Saber of Silver, not recognizing her as she hasn't really met this one in person or really seen much combat from her. "So..." ... "This is going to get complicated." She looks aside at Kazusa, and then to Berserker, and makes her decision.

She turns and bows to Saber of Silver in a suitably Japanese way. "I apologize that this got out of hand. Please understand that I didn't mean for this to happen." She smiles apologetically, and then glances over her shoulder at Berserker, having revealed the accidental nature of this to the Servant. "We have very little reason to fight each other, especially since we are allies as it is." 'Very little' being the Wish, that is, but that seems secondary in her priorites.

"Kazusa! I'm sorry this happened!" She calls over to the other Master. "I can explain!"
Frankenstein     Berserker keeps her eyes upon the Saber, more so when Ainsley approaches. The wound isn't deep, fortunately, the testing strike mainly hitting nowhere vital, thought that dress will need to be sewn back up and bleached. Though through deep, slow breaths, she lets the Bridal Chest rest, the large ball rests on the ground while the fin on the 'bottom' sparks up some electricity to the fins on her head. "I. Will be... Ok." she groans out towards Ainsley, a brief apologetic smile to her before turning back to the other Servant and Master.

The word 'allies' brings a curious stint to the Berserker's eyes, "Allies? For?" complications intensify as she steps forward, making sure that Ainsley is at least a step behind. "Master. You.. know... these... two?" she groans out, eyes resting on the kimono'd Saber. "You... are ally?" she questioned, "You... are not... here to hurt Master?" though, she waits for any more orders from Ainsley before her vision rests upon Kazusa.

    "Ka...zu..sa?"
Moonlit Saber Oh. It seems the two Masters know one another. Saber quickly glances back to Kazusa, then to Ainsley... but it isn't until she deems it safe that Berserker won't attack that she finally lowers her sword. A quick flick out to the side, and she sheathes it again. "So you are with the Union as well. That both complicates and simplifies matters."

The bow is met with a faint smile and a slight nod, before she offers the same nod to Berserker. "Yes, it appears we are. My apologizes for attacking you, but I am sure you understand." She turns to glance at Ainsley. "I am not sure how much you know of the Grail War and it's workings, but.. as we are allies, I will honor our positions in the Union. If we must fight one another in the future... that is something we shall consider if it becomes relevant." Glancing back, Saber looks for her Master's approval. She.... thinks that's how it works, right?
Kazusa Ujikane     "Saber..."

Kazusa is already stepping forward. Her voice is... distant? Distracted? It's hard to say.

    "She's..."

Right past Saber, towards the white-clad Berserker, the meager light falling across her face just right to obscure her eyes with glare from her glasses.

    "She's...!"

    Step. Step. Step.

    Lunge.

    "SHE'S /ADORABLE!!/"

Congratulations, Berserker. Another Servant's master is now squeezing you and declaring you the cutest thing in the world.
Ainsley     Ainsley smiles at Saber of Silver, happy that she understands how the chips fell... The lizard lady turns her attention back to Kazusa when motion is detected in her periphery. She puts her hand on Berserker's arm so that the Servant doesn't attack out of self-defense. The lizard lady then smiles at the hugging.

"Now... We should all get out of this rain. I will make a report when we get back to safety."

And then she chuckles deeply to herself, and turns to start walking toward the nearest warp gate.
Frankenstein     The Berserker looks towards Saber and watches the blade get sheathed... she's no longer a threat, however Berserker keeps a hand upon the Bridal Chest, a firm grip to keep it in her hand only. She shakes her head a bit, "If... If Master... trusts. Then I.. shall listen." she gives a nod, it seems that she understands what's going on at least. "If.. it comes... to it.. we... shall find.. out." Though when Kazusa makes her approach, it puts the Berserker in a wary state...

Closer.. closer... then the lunge, ohgodaMasterattacking! Wait, her Master's hand is on her arm... this feels slightly awkward, though she reaches around with her free arm... and gently as possible... pats Kazusa's back. "Ador...able?" she tilts... "Not... a monster?" This does seem to bring a bit more of a smile to her face, pulling Kazusa closer with that arm, a hug is fine too.
Moonlit Saber There is a little concern as Kazusa approaches the other Servant. After all, allies or no, it's still a Berserker. Saber watches very carefully as the hug is given and then returned, once more letting out a breathe of relief. Okay, good to know this particular Berserker had control.

Tilting her head slightly, Saber peers at Berserker. "Who said you were a monster?" She reaches out, touching the other Servant's shoulder lightly. "You do not look like a monster to me." While it isn't as glaring a commendation as adorable, Saber speaks her mind and gives Berserker a soft smile. "I think your Master has a good idea. We should get out of the rain." And as soon as Kazusa releases her hug of death, Saber gestures for her Master to follow down the street.

After some moments, she comments offhand, "We should compensate that library for the wall."
Kazusa Ujikane     Kazusa would be easily dislodged if Berserker so chose - she is not superhuman in the least. But when she gets a pat on the back instead of pried off, there are practically hearts in her eyes. And when she is pulled back in for a hug, she /nuzzles/. Cheekrub, cheekrub. "Who would call you a monster, you've got these pretty white clothes and your haircut is adorable and the way it falls over your face it just makes me want to hug you /forever/ and at the same time you've got that cool mace and the horn and those bolts on the side of your head-"

It's starting to look like Berserker might need rescuing. But while the concept of 'rain' has temporarily ceased to exist for Kazusa, her Servant's attempt to get her attention succeeds. Much to her disappointment. Pout. "...Yeah, yeah, we should... out of the rain." Pause. "...Will the Union cover expenses like that? I don't know about dipping into my savings for that kind of damage..."
