Momoyo Kawakami      Momoyo sat on the edge of the blue and serene Tama River during the afternoon. Just on the shore of the river near the Gate, the JSDF gave up and left the area as a park near the Tama Bridge, rather than continue a perimeter. With the world declared neutral and anyone needing to go to Kawakami City to get anything done, it was pointless to keep up occupation of the area.

So she agreed to wait for Nero, though she didn't specify whether Kyra should or shouldn't come as well. Flopped in the grass, her arms were folded behind her hair as she looked up at the sky. By now, Nero could readily detect her presence, so it wasn't as if she needed to be specific.
Nero      After yesterday's match, Nero left the Kawakami Dojo with Certain Thoughts playing in her mind. And today, she decided that maybe it was time to speak with Momoyo again, regarding this issue. As such, she headed out for Kawakami City alone, informing Kyra that it was simply some light business. No need for alarm.

No need to specify a meeting spot. Once she stepped through the warpgate, detecting the Martial Artist was child's play. And so, with a turn in that direction, Nero sauntered off through the streets to find her. Eventually, she found her way towards a river, and spotted a familiar form seated on the grass some distance away. "Aha. And there she is."

And a smirk on her face, the Servant approached, having herself a seat on the grass next to Momoyo. "Is this your usual quiet place now?"
Momoyo Kawakami      "Tama River's usually one of my training areas. I jog here, I fight challengers here, and I walk to school here." she replies, picking up a fistful of grass blades and just... releasing them so they drift down lazily. She even picks up a grass blade and begins to roll it into a reed flute boredly. "So what did you have in mind?" she asks, though, she suspected she knew already. As much as she respected Nero, this was the first time she'd ever been contacted first for a social call, which meant none of the usual bluster reminisicient of an S-Class student.
Nero      "I see. Quite a versatile location, I must say." Nero nodded, looking offf at the flowing river in the meantime. A moment of silence passed as she observed the blades of grass fluttering down through the air lazily. "As for what I have in mind..."

She gave Momoyo a sidelong glance. "It concerns your sister, Lady Kawakami." The Servant spoke plainly, observing the Northern Deva for any reaction. "After her title defense yesterday, I have been thinking..." She brought a hand to her chin, rubbing it thoughtfully. "Lady Kazuko has been putting on quite a surprising show recently, has she not? First, she defeated Sir Lute. And then Lady Lu-Mey. Both fighters that should theoretically outclass her. And yet..." Nero lowered her arm, gazing up at the sky. "She retains the title of the East."

She glanced aside at Momoyo then. "Have we perhaps been hasty in our decision during the last double battle? Is Lady Kazuko truly unworthy of the chance to attain her dream?"
Momoyo Kawakami      *Bweeeeeee~* she blows into the reed, before picking another grass blade... and handing it to the blonde beside her. "Here. You roll it like this... carefully. And then... try seeing what sound it makes."

She shrugs quietly. "She still failed to support me. I lost that match when I didn't let you fell her and instead stopped to protect her instead of destroying your Praetor in one punch... and then I let Kyra's malice overwhelm me. Regardless of my tactical decisions, she was more of a burden in that fight than a help, and that can't be the case for an Assistant Master."

"It's not that I disagree with you, Nero, it's that I don't make the rules. It will take me months to argue with my grandpa on her behalf to get her another test, even with Lu-sensei's help... who also watched the same fight you did. Master Lu is her favorite Master and also started as a normal person before becoming an Assistant Master." she sighs. "I ordinarily wouldn't give you any leeway to be involved in family matters since my family is one of the influential families here in Japan in my world. But... it's not like you don't have the standing, wisdom and age to argue with my grandpa. I just don't know."

    *Bweeeeeeeeee~*
Nero      Nero took the reed, peering at it curiously. "......" *Bweeeeee~* Oho, so that's how it's done. Smiling, pleased with herself at figuring it out, she spoke up again. "It is true that the matters of your family are none of my concern. However, I still feel that I should express these thoughts of mine." Turning the blade of grass over between her fingers, she trailed off.

"And I suppose that Lady Kazuko's future is also none of my concern. But I do believe that she has potential. She may not have latent talent, but the potential is still there. She showed us that twice now, challenging titans and coming out on top in the end." The Roman Emperor closed her eyes at that, dwelling on her thoughts for a moment longer.

"Well, regardless, it is true that she lost that previous battle. But nonetheless, I believe that she is deserving of a second chance." Her green eyes opened, and she turned to look straight at Momoyo. "Perhaps not tomorrow, or next week, or even next month. But eventually, somewhere down the line, she may yet again be worthy, no?"

A faint chuckle escaped from her lips then. "I will not push the matter any further. I suppose that for now, you should watch your sister. See for yourself where she stands after some time, and decide then, if she is yet capable."

     *Bweeeeeeeee~*
Momoyo Kawakami      Momoyo sighs. "I've more or less decided if she can beat back another challenger that's stronger than her, then it's definitely time to bother my grandpa about the subject of re-testing her. If we do re-test her, it won't be the same test. But usually, the test would have been to attack me and force me to block the hit. If I have to dodge her, then she loses." she shrugs and tilts her head a little. "She wouldn't have fought me seriously before losing that match, Nero, but now I'm not so sure. You've fought me. Do you think she can hit me?"
Nero      Nero set the reed whistle down, leaning back and staring at the sky as she listened to Momoyo speak. "If I'm to be honest... No. As she is right now, she cannot hit you." A shake of the head followed. "But I believe that in due time, she just may be able to. She has shown great potential these past few bouts. And after her loss during the first test, I would not expect her to hold anything back."

An amused smirk curled on the blonde's face. "But I am not sitting here, talking to you this day because I do not believe in Lady Kazuko. Somewhere, deep down, that girl is drawing on her potential. She has defeated warriors of a level higher than her own, and now, she holds the title of East." Her smirk grew.

"She just may surprise you. And myself. Perhaps everyone."
Momoyo Kawakami      She waves her hand dismissively. "I love my sister, Nero. More than anything. Except fighting. But as you know... it's /lonely/ at the top. I know I made fun of you, but we understand one another out of respect. My love for Wanko is different... she's the only reason I don't go insane wanting to destroy something some days."

She rubs her face with both palms and sighs, speaking into her hands as she peeks through her fingers at the sky. "That's why... I don't want to get her hopes up again. She has to absolutely under her own power be able to hit me. I can see every single one of her movements right now, and could anticipate all of Lu-Mey's. It's impressive she managed not to get slaughtered by such an unconventional opponent, but she's still not strong enough. Soon, though."

"I want to see what happens after her next title match, and then I'll have to let her know she's earned the right to try the conventional method again. You've seen me at my best... I have to be cruel to her when that test comes."
Nero      Nero waved a hand. "Of course. Now, at this very moment, both you and I can see Lady Kazuko's movements. If she made the attempt here and now, she would be annihilated." Harsh. "But that is why I say we give her time. Time to grow. And time to better grasp her own potential." And a shrug followed. "In the end, it is all up to her. We have seen her potential, and I believe she can do more, but we cannot hold her hand and tug her along. She will need to surmount those walls herself."
Momoyo Kawakami      Momoyo rolls over in the grass, instead shifting to lay face-down facing the river beside you. "Hey. Nero. I'm bored. Let's talk about something fun instead. What were the pretty girls you wanted to discuss erotic things with like in Ancient Rome...?" she continues on. While Momoyo was still an upper classman, she still obviously wasn't quite an adult either. So it only ended up being even more fun to have a rare opportunity to spout off stupid thoughts in private with the blonde outside the presence of Kyra who absolutely detested that kind of chatter...
Nero      Nero watched Momoyo roll over and choked back a laugh at her words. ...Despite the way she carried herself, this girl was still a child, wasn't she? Sometimes it was easy to forget in the thick of all these life and death battles, all this deva nonsense, and all the rivalries and other foolishness. But at a moment like this, it became clear.

"Well!" Nero cleared her thoat. "If you must know, then I shall tell you! Back in Rome, the women were quite striking, and..." And she went on. it may or may not have been truthful, and instead just a joke. Who could tell?

...Just another random day in the Multiverse.
