Ayako Hasekawa     Spring tonight is unusually dark. The new moon has made it so that the only source of light in the sky are the stars that shine on the Multiverse. The season outside and inside the region are the same, and so... one might wonder why anyone would come here? Well, that sort of thing is best left for each person to decide.

However, a pale blue light can be seen off the main road in Spring. One that is familiar to those that follow rumors. Following said rumors and light, is of course, natural for those that want their fortune told.

Indeed, the source of the light are pale blue flames that flicker about and float in mid air. Said flames are surrounding a very blue fortune telling setup. A dark blue, fluffy cloth mat embroidered with midnight blue roses. A black lacquered table covered by a light blue table cloth also embroidered with blue roses. A pair of black lacquered chairs with deep blue cushions. One chair is occupied with a lot of pillows of differing blues, and a certain water spirit in deep blues shuffling a deck of tarot cards in her oversleeved hands.

Ayako Hasekawa is here, to tell people's fortunes-even though she doesn't technically have any fortune telling magic. But hey, people have all sorts of hobbies they do for fun.

"Hmm... I wonder who will come tonight?"
Alice Margatroid     Alice is back in that area of spring, hunting for that one person she wanted to speak to before. Her dolls aren't with her today like usual when she wanders around Spring but this place felt safe to her. It's here that she's flying low to the ground, speeding across the night landscape that's dotted by starlight. Speeding past one of the areas, that blue light catches the corner of her eye and she quickly makes a turn around, landing in front of that path.

Ayako's fortune telling resonated with the dollmaker and she was eager to get it read again, slowly walking towards the clearing where the special water spirit resides, poking her head out of the path leading. "Ayako?" she whispers, looking around the area to make sure no one else was around... "Good evening, Ayako."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako blinks her eyes slowly and glances around... did someone whisper her name? Oh. It's Alice! She smiles softly in Alice's direction. "Good evening, Alice." The deck of tarot cards is gently placed on the table as she inclines her head to the side gently.

"I didn't expect to see you again so soon." Ayako's pointer finger taps on her cheek as she glances up and off to the side. Classic thinking pose, and all. She then gazes back to Alice with a cheerful smile. "Does that mean... you want another fortune told?"
Alice Margatroid     Alice gives a brief nod, moving closer towards the Water Spirit and moving to take a seat. "Well... your last fortune was... accurate. So I... I was hoping to get another one told." she thinks a moment, "I'm actually a bit uncertain in things, and my project hasn't been moving forward so maybe... another fortune would be helpful."

Alice gives a smile, "I'm not sure if you've eaten, I have a small bag of snacks for later if you would like it."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head slowly. "Ah ah... it was ac-" She startles slightly. "Eeehhh? It was accurate?!" Her hands quickly move to smooth her hair back down. Said hair frizzled slightly when she startled. "W-well. I don't mind telling another fortune." She smiles softly. "All you need to do is to cut the deck, as usual." Her hands move from smoothing her hair down to gesturing towards the deck of tarot cards on the table.

When food is brought up, Ayako can't help but giggle nervously. "I... I don't really eat, so..." Her amber eyes close halfway as she glances to the side as she says playfully. "Anything I bring back home will get chewed through by Riva, anyway." She giggles softly.
Alice Margatroid     Alice gives a brief nod and sets the gift of snacks, pork buns and the like, aside and her other hand moves forward to cut the deck, cleanly down the middle. "I.. it was, yes." she gives a nervous chuckle and sets the other half back on top. "I'm ready, Ayako."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head slowly. "Well... let's see if I can be correct again, then!" She waves a hand dismissively... at herself. "After all, after you get one right, the usual response is, 'Do it again!'" She giggles brightly and shakes her head.

Once Alice cuts the deck, though she becomes solemn. "Well... here we go." She swiftly deals five cards in the shape of a cross. "These cards shall be your fortune then! First, I wish to see what has recently happened. Your past card!" An oversleeved hand reaches over towards the card closest to Alice.

Death, upright. "Hmm... the end of a cycle and sudden change?"
Alice Margatroid     Alice gives a brief nod, "Of course!" she gives a smile and a bit of a chuckle as she waits. Then, Solemn Ayako. She watches the cards being dealt and she goes silent, listening intently towards the Water Spirit as she divines her fortune.

Her eyes fall on the Death card, frowning some. "Mmm..." she responds, "There was something like that." she starts, "We ended something in a floating island... and we're going to finish the job soon, but we got our cat back..." her eyes never leave the cards, just watching them as they're flipped.

    Fortunes are amazing..
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head slowly. "Well... good luck with finishing that job then." She smiles softly. "Let's see what the present card happens to be..." Her sleeve reaches over to flip over the next card.

The Star, upside-down. "Hmm... pessimism and stubborness." Her amber eyes glance over to the face up Death card. "Has something recently made you wary?"
Alice Margatroid     Alice mmms a bit, pessimism and stubborness. "Well, my cat was possessed by something... so it's made me wary of what else is going on with her. Something that... finishing the job should fix. But, I've been a bit on guard because of it." a pause "That and wary that one of my dolls will explode without reason."

She frowns slightly, her hands clutching at her dress, "Shall we continue?"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako inclines her head to the side. "Hmm... I wonder if that's all... Well... let's see what the near future card is..." She reaches over for the card on the right side of the cross.

The Hanged Man, upside-down. "Huh... You'll seek the company of people, and you'll be quite comfortable with speaking your mind?" Her eyes glance over the other face-up cards. "Have you been... unsatisfied recently? If so, you may find some relief in the future." She smiles softly.
Alice Margatroid     The hanged man, that was a familiar card. "I have, honestly." she whispers, "And... yes, I have spoken my mind before... and for this.. I'll be speaking it again." she looks back towards that possession, how she was going to do something to Amaterasu. That's what that Utsuho doll is for.

"I haven't made much progress with my dolls.. it's... still hard to give them sentience."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako thinks to herself for a moment. "Or... more literally... it may indicate coming out of seculsion." She shrugs her shoulders lightly. "Although it's more the feeling of the card that matters." She smiles softly and then listens quietly to Alice. "Hmm... that seems to be the right thing to do. Although I'm not sure what to suggest about your dolls." She giggles softly and nods her head once. "Oh, but let's see what the future card has to say." Her sleeve reaches forward towards the card closest to her.

Strength, upright. "Ah." Ayako smiles softly. "It seems you will gain a good amount of inner strength from this." Her eyes quickly trace the face up cards. "There's nothing wrong with stubborness. As long as you do so with the intention of moving forward. In opening up towards others, you may find another inner strength." She smiles brightly.

"Not a bad fortune at all." Ayako glances at the still face down card. "Well... there's still that card. You know how dangerous it can be already, but... do you want to see what it has to say?"
Alice Margatroid     Alice gives a brief nod, "Well, before Gensokyo came into the multiverse, I was pretty secluded. I didn't much care for anyone to be near my house... but things changed so I had to change with it." she gives a brief nod though, looking back at the cards when she's ready. Though, when the Strength card comes up, she hmms.

"More confidence or the like? Or physical strength?" she thinks a moment, she did have a few things she wanted to work on.. maybe she can talk to Marisa later about it, for now she ponders the entire fortune... then the face down card.

    /THAT/ card...

She taps her foot and gives a brief nod, "I'm aware... and I still wish to see it. I'm a master of my own fate, so let's see what it has in store..."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako inclines her head to the other side. "Hmm... I see. Well, I'm glad you're out and about more." She smiles cheerfully. "It refers to inner strength. Your own discipline. Your self-control. Your kindness. Your patience." Her head nods once.

When Alice tells her that she wishes to see what the center card is, Ayako nods her head and nervously reaches for the one face down card. Judgement, upright. "Ah. A rebirth, a release, and a new hope." She glances at all of the cards that are face up. "You are going to change. You might feel like it's a pain, but you feel feel more open, and become stronger inside for it."

Ayako nods her head once and then smiles brightly. "Quite a good fortune, in my opinion!" She quietly shuffles the face up cards back into her deck, one by one.
Alice Margatroid     Alice gives a nod, "Well, I have learned a lot being open towards the Multiverse, and made.. interesting friends to say the least." she gives a brief smile and then looks away, the incident. She shakes her head to get the memories away from that, something she didn't want to think about right now even if it was quite... changing. Though the nervous reach towards that face down card... Judgement.

Alice listens to Ayako as she explains the card, a brief smile comes across her face as she gives a nod, "It seems so, now... we just hope that it actually comes true... though, like last time... I think it will." she slowly picks herself up from her seat and gives a bow towards Ayako. "I thank you for your time again, Ayako and... I do hope your other fortunes will be great."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako giggles brightly. "Interesting friends are the best!" She leans back into the pillows on her chair as she continues to shuffle the deck. "Un. Just keep going forwards! It's usually the best thing to do." The deck is placed back onto the table so that Ayako can float upwards out of her seat and curtsey in return to Alice's bow. "You're very welcome, Alice. And until next time." She giggles softly as she floats back down onto her chair.

The deck of cards is taken back up and is quietly shuffled on top of her too-long sleeves. "I wonder who will come next?"
Raine Arland      Not that long after Alice departed, did someone else arrive, wandering in with his hands stuffed in his jacket pockets casually. "...Ehn? Th'hell am I?" He muttered, looking left and right, and then regarding the table and other ornaments, as well as Ayako herself. "Whoops. Think I took a wrong turn."

Chcukling to himself, Raine turned around. "Sorry bout that. I'll just retrace my steps."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako giggles softly when someone happens to wander in... and have no idea where they are. "Hello, hello~." She places the deck of tarot cards onto the table. Has she shuffled it enough? With Ayako, the answer is probably 'no', but that may be just the way she is. "Oh? I don't think you took a wrong turn..." She leans forwards, staring intently with her amber eyes that glint gold sometimes. "But rather... since you're here... why not have your fortune told? The only things I charge are your name, and a bit of your time." She smiles softly.
Raine Arland      "Huh? Fortune?" Raine paused, giving Ayako a halfway glance. "....." He was about to say he didn't believe in that stuff, but... She seemed nice enough, anyway. Kind of disarming really. "...Eh, what the hell, why not." He turned around and strode on in, having himself a seat across from her.

"Alright, fine. Let's have me a fortune told." He crossed his arms and smirked a bit. "This should be good for a laugh at least."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles brightly at the 'what the hell, why not.'. "Un un. Well, may I have your name? And... please, cut the deck of cards." Her oversleeved hands gesture towards the deck of cards on top of the table. "Well... it'll be interesting at the very least. I don't have any fortune telling magic, but it always seems to come up... interesting."
Raine Arland      "My name? Uh...okay." He arched a brow and answered. "Raine. Raine Arland." Simple and easy. "...And who're you anyway?" A followup question. Not that it mattered, but why not? At the mention of fortunes being interesting, Raine just smirked and shrugged. "I'll be the judge of that. But if you say so, sure. Let's see what you've got."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles cheerfully. "Nice to meet you, Raine. I'm Ayako. Ayako Hasekawa, a water spirit." She gestures at herself with one of her sleeves. "Me? I'm just a silly water spirit that fortune tells as a hobby." A giggle follows. "Oh? Well then... let's begin!" She reaches forward and picks up the deck of cards. Five cards are swiftly dealt in the shape of a cross in front of Raine.

Ayako becomes... abruptly serious. "These five cards shall be your fortune! First..." Her sleeve reaches forward, towards the card on the cross closest to Raine. "This card represents the past..."

Judgement, upside-down. "Hmm... repression and a denial of your past."
Raine Arland      "Nice to meetcha, Ayako. Yep." He raised a hand in casual greeting, and then crossed his arms again, watching as she shuffled the deck. "So you do this as a hobby? Weird kinda hobby if you ask me." He asided to no one, a slight grin forming on his face. "Then again, there's weirder out there in the Multiverse." Another side glance followed, as if he knew something about that. Something irritating.

But that passed and he regarded the laid out cards with his heterochromic gaze. "Hunh. Just five? ...Then again, I don't know how this works." He followed her sleeve to the card closest to him. That was the past? It was flipped, and he blinked at the assessment.

Denial of the past... "......." His eyes narrowed. And he didn't say a word. He just stared at the card hard. "....Heh. I got no clue what that card's talkin' about."

     Lies.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head once. "Just five." She inclines her head to the side gently and smiles softly. "Well... then it's good for a laugh then." She shrugs her shoulders lightly and then reaches for the next card; the card on the left side of the cross. "This card represents the present."

The Tower, upright. Ayako just winces when seeing THAT card. "Going through quite some... trying and chaotic times recently, aren't you?" Her eyes go back to the reversed Judgement card. "And maybe it has to do with your past. Perhaps your expectations didn't match up with reality?"
Raine Arland      "Yep, a good ass laugh. Har har har." Raine replied, guffawing in a hammed up manner to push the subject away. Nope. Not gonna touch that with a ten foot pole. Or at least, not talk about it. But then it came back! The second card was revealed for the present, and he almost spittake.

Thankfully he had nothing to spit. "Uh...Ayako, you said this wasn't magic, right? Are you damn sure about that?" He seemed a bit suspicious now! "But uh..." He sighed. "Yeah, I guess. Somehow. I got two freeloaders on my ship right now. One of them is, uh... a complicated situation. Suffice to say, ehhh... There's some things to figure out there."

And that was all he was going to say on the matter without touching on the past.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head once. She isn't the type to press when someone doesn't want to talk about their past. After all, she... well. That's for another time and another place, now isn't it?

When asked if this was magic, Ayako just gently shakes her head in denial. "I don't have any fortune telling magic myself. Quite sure!" She smiles softly and then winces slightly at the mention of two freeloaders on Raine's ship. "Well. I hope you figure those things out." Her sleeve reaches out for the card on the right side of the cross. "This card... represents the near future."

The Lovers, upright. "Hmm... Desire. It might be your driving passion. It might be some opportunity that appears that suddenly fires you up. It might be something to deal with your current situation. But soon, something will happen that spurs you into action by your own will."
Raine Arland      "Hunh... Well if you say so." Raine muttered, meeting Ayako's eyes suspiciously for a moment, before sighing and letting it be. Whatever, all this voodoo woodoo was weird. ...But he was kind of curious to see what else these damn cards were going to say next.

He blinked at the next card. "...What?" He wasn't even mad this time, just totally confused. Well, not totally, but... "...Well of course I got a desire! I wanna live a good, fun life!" Raine responded, grinning broadly. "But seriously? Something to spur me into action? ...Like what?" And then he stopped and raised a hand. "Ah, no, nevermind. You don't know that." Damn it these fortunes.

"Guh, if this does happen, and I remember this fortune, if I purposely don't do it, will some kinda god of fate backhand me for it?" He mused aloud after.

     Fool.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako meets Reine's gaze with her cheerful amber one. And just smiles. Her head nods slowly. "Un un. I don't know exactly what will spur you into action." Her head inclines to the side as she thinks again. "Hmm... well... in my opinion... the future is never written in stone. If you decide to do something different, the future will change too." She nods her head once. "I don't think some god of fate or whatever will punish you for it. What happens will happen." She then smiles brightly. "Oh, but maybe the future card will have some sort of hint?" Her sleeve reaches for the card closest to her.

The High Priestess, upright. "Huh... well... this is the card of mysteries, intuition, and women." She nods her head once and glances back at The Lovers. "So... maybe a girl is what will spur you ahead? I'm not sure either. It might be a mystery. Or maybe a mysterious girl." She giggles softly.

And then her amber eyes turn towards the one still face down card. "Although... if you still want some advice... there's still >that< card." Ayako's sleeve gestures towards it. "That... is a card of guidance. It can help. It can also lead you astray since it's quite easily misinterpreted. In the end... it's up to you, Raine."
Raine Arland      Pause.

     "A girl?"

     Another pause.

He thought about the girls he knew. Fragarach? ...Hell to the no. Rue? Ahahaha, no. Lumeria maybe?

"...PFFTHAHAHAHAHAHA!" And like that, Raine tossed his head back and burst out laughing racously. "Oh! Oh man! You have got some good jokes, Ayako! Whew! Air! Gonna need some air! Hahaha! Phew!" He slapped his knees a few times and he heaved, catching his breath. "Okay...okay, I'm alive, I swear! Just a second!" Another deep breath, and he sobered up for real.

"Phew, man...that was great." He slapped his knees once more, and then straightened up, clearly in a better mood now that he's had a good laugh. "Card of guidance, ehn? I'll take it! After everything else, there's no way this could be that bad!" He waved a hand in a beckoning motion. "C'mon Ayako, lay it on me!"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako just blinks her eyes quickly at the sudden outburst of laughter from Raine. She awkwardly scratches a cheek with a pointer finger as Raine cracks up and smiles an equally awkward smile. Once Raine begins to recover from his laughter, Ayako just slowly shakes her head with a soft smile. "Very well." Her sleeve reaches forwards to flip over the card in the center.

The Hanged Man, upright. Her eyes trace over the rest of the face up cards. "Hmmm... look within. Be comfortable with yourself. And ask yourself who you really are. I think that's the advice it's giving."
Raine Arland      Raine paused at that one.

     Hey.

     Hey that one wasn't funny!

In fact, he just kind of stopped and looked down at himself, then back at Ayako. "...Really? Who I am, huh?" His good cheer sobered up a bit from that, and he crossed his arms. What did that even mean? He would ask Ayako, but...that wasn't really going to get him answers. She just read the cards or something.

Oh well, no thinking on it now. He was burning up business time, or something. "Alright. Well, I'll think about it." Raine stood up at that and gave Ayako a two fingered salute. "Well, you were right! That was pretty interesting. How much do I owe you then?" He asked, taking out his wallet to pay.

You usually paid for these things, right?
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head slowly as Raine self-reflects for a moment. "Eh heh... wasn't it interesting?" She then shakes her head quickly. "Oh no. I don't charge for this sort of thing! After all, I don't have any fortune telling magic. Besides, you paid already with your time." She smiles brightly as she begins shuffling the face up cards back into the tarot deck, one by one.
Raine Arland      "Oh, huh...really? Well, okay." Raine put his wallet away and stepped back.

"Well, seeya around, Ayako." And he turned around and walked out, waving her off as he left.

     And he was gone.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly as she leans back into her chair as she continues to shuffle the deck of tarot cards. "See you later, Raine." Her gaze goes to the sky for a moment. "Hmm... I wonder who will come next?"
Eclipse      Following the light of the blue flames, Eclipse approaches, looking back with a sniff towards Rain as she passes. "...Hello," she says to the woman at the table. She feels the power of a force of nature here, though she can't quite place it as well as she possibly could if it were from her world. Still, it's enough to draw her in.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles cheerfully at Eclipse as she approaches. "Good evening!" The deck of tarot cards is placed upon the table as Ayako floats upwards out of her chair. "I'm Ayako Hasekawa, a water spirit. And-" She curtsies in mid-air towards Eclipse. "Tonight, I'm telling people's fortunes." She straightens back up and looks Eclipse in the eyes. "Would you like for me to tell yours?" She slowly floats back down to her chair, where she resumes sitting.
Eclipse      "Fortunes from a water spirit? I suppose the river knows where it will flow," Eclipse says with a grin. "I will hear your fortune." She sits confidently across the table from Ayako, placing her hands on her knees. "I am Eclipse, a longtooth shifter of the Den-of-Oaks clan." Having a fortune told would certainly be useful, she thinks. She tends to travel pretty much randomly- more specific guidance would help a lot, especially with the vastness of the Multiverse to explore.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako giggles brightly. "Sometimes it has no idea where it will flow!" She shakes her head slowly and then smiles softly at Eclipse. "Well, if you want your fortune told, I do have to warn you... I don't have any actual fortune telling magic." She giggles softly. "I just happen to do this for fun as a hobby."

She bows her head. "Nice to meet you, Eclipse." Ayako's oversleeved hands gesture towards the deck of tarot cards. "If you still want your fortune told, though... I just require for you to cut the deck of cards."
Eclipse      Eclipse nods, with a bit of a laugh. "There's more power out there than magic, of course." Even if she didn't have any power to tell fortunes herself, that didn't necessarily mean the fortunes wouldn't be true for some other reason. In any case, she's familiar with how cards work, so she's not going to be "cutting the cards" with her sword or anything- instead, she just cuts the cards normally.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head slowly. "There is, there is." Once the deck is cut, Ayako gently picks up the deck and swiftly deal out five cards in the shape of a cross. "Well then... these cards shall be your fortune!" Compared to how lighthearted she was before, she's quite serious now.

"First... the past card." Her sleeve reaches forwards and flips over the card closes to Eclipse on the cross. The Tower, upside-down. Ayako flinches upon seeing that card, but the flinch eases when she notices it being reversed. "Hmm... I see that your past has been quite chaotic and quite frantic. Yet, despite how harrowing it has been, you still are fine and have grown."
Eclipse      Eclipse nods. "I suppose you could say that." The tribal life isn't one for those who want things settled and routine!
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako giggles softly at the 'I suppose you could say that.'. She nods her head slowly and continues on. Her sleeve quickly reaches for the card on the left side of the cross. "This card, represents your present."

Justice, upside-down. "Hmm... a life out of balance." She takes a moment to pause. "Although..." Her gaze returns to the face up Tower. "I wonder... have you unified recently into the Multiverse? That might be why this card has shown up."
Eclipse      "Yes," Eclipse answers. "Though that's not much of a secret." She had discussed it on the radio a few times.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly as she continues on. "This card... represents your near future." Her sleeve reaches forwards and flips over the card on the right side of the cross.

The Hanged Man, upside-down. "Ah. Soon, you'll get involved with a lot of people and speak your mind." Ayako nods her head once. Another one tonight with this card in this position!

"And... in the future..." Ayako's hand goes towards the card closest to her. Death, upright. "Hmm... the end of a cycle... or an abrupt change of some sort? Perhaps exposing yourself to the Multiverse will change you in ways you don't expect."
Eclipse      Eclipse considers this. "I see." Speaking her mind, eh? Perhaps, she needs to find a place to stand up for what she believes in. A world where nature is threatened, maybe.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly at how quiet Eclipse has been the whole time. "Well, there is one last card. It's a card of guidance. It may be helpful. But at the same time, it might be misleading. It's really up to you if you want to see what it is."
Eclipse      Eclipse leans forward a bit, intrigued. "I was wondering what that one was for... I would like to see it." At the very least, it would be one more thing to think about.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head once and then somewhat nervously, flips over the face down card. The Wheel of Fortune, upright. "Ah. Hmm..." She quietly glances at the face up cards... and then nods her head once. "Be open to the new things that you encounter in the Multiverse. They may seem random and confusing. There may be things that make you feel like you should have nothing to do with them, but by seeking them out, you will change, grow, and know what it is to be yourself." She nods her head with a gentle smile. "That appears to be what the card is saying."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly as Eclipse leaves and shuffles the cards back into her deck. "Hmm... a quiet one. Although that's not a bad thing..." She leans back into her chair's pillows and hmms softly. "I wonder who will come next?"
Mel Brock     The answer to that proves to be 'a tall woman in a trenchcoat'. A short time later, someone else strides up, a slender woman nearly six feet tall, regarding the whole setup with some interest, but keeping her hands in her coat pockets for the time being. "Well, I guess I didn't hear wrong," Mel observes, one eyebrow arched. "Little bit of a hike to get here, but it's a good night for a walk."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako quickly looks in the direction of the voice. "Ah." She quickly places the deck of tarot cards onto the table and looks in the direction of the tall woman in a trenchcoat. "Hmm hmm hmm~. Good evening!" She nestles back in her chair and smiles brightly in her direction.
Mel Brock     "Hey," Mel replies, lifting her hand in greeting. She pulls the chair out by hand, but when she steps in front of it, it slides up under her as if of its own accord, letting her sit down and cross her legs easily. "So we meet again. Got kind of an interesting hobby going here. I once met a clairvoyant who used tarot cards. Only he could read it the way he did, of course, but it was kinda neat to watch."
Ayako Hasekawa     "Ah." Ayako smiles brightly as Mel approaches. "Good evening, Mel!" She giggles brightly. "It is a fun hobby. Telling random people's fortunes. Sometimes, people I know come here too, so maybe it's not >that< random." Her head inclines to the side gently. "Huh... well, I'm no clairvoyant. Nor do I have any magic for fortune telling but... want your fortune told, Mel?" She giggles brightly.
Mel Brock     Mel chuckles. "Maybe, maybe not. Sometimes I swear just being psychic warps probability, regardless of what your gift is." She folds her hands in her lap, and gives a little nod. "Yeah, I'm game. Even if it's pure chance, with my luck, it'll come up /something/ interesting. Probably bad interesting, but interesting."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako giggles brightly. "Well then, all you have to do is cut the deck. Once you've done that and warped probability, I'll take the cards and try to tell your fortune!"
Mel Brock     Mel nods to that, and sits forward in her chair. "Alright, then..." Rather than use her telekinetics, she simply reaches out to cut the deck by hand, a quick movement. Grab half, set it to one side. "Here we go, right?" Her finger absently brushes against the device on her jaw when she sits back, before returning to her lap.
Ayako Hasekawa     "Yup... here we go..." Ayako nods her head once and picks up the deck in her way too oversleeved hands. She takes a deep breath... and then starts taking this seriously. Five cards are swiftly dealt in a cross in front of Mel. "These five cards shall be your fortune! First... this card represents your past." Her sleeve reaches over and flips over the card closest to Mel.

Justice, upside-down. "Huh... a life out of balance?" Ayako thinks about that for a while... "Mel, were you a total... what's the word... workaholic?"
Mel Brock     Mel is watching pretty intently, for all she seems relaxed about the whole thing. It might just be a novelty, but it's also interesting. Five cards, and the first one is the past... interesting. "...Of course 'justice' is the first card." She shakes her head, chuckling under her breath. "But, uh... I'm not sure I'd say 'workaholic'? I did kinda push myself pretty hard at psi school and the Marshal academy, but I /tried/ to get out and do stuff. Occasionally. It's mostly that my job has me living on a small starship, spending most of my time traveling or getting shot at."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles softly. "When a card is upside-down, the meaning reverses. Sometimes in a strange way." She shakes her head slowly. "Well... I hope you do get some time for yourself sometimes. That sounds like a pretty nerve wracking way of living." She nods her head once and then looks towards the next card. "This next card represents the present." Her sleeve reaches for the card on the left side of the cross.

The Tower, upright. "Eeep!" Ayako startles visibly at >that< card. "Uhh... things are pretty chaotic and strange right now, huh?"
Mel Brock     "Oh, no, I have a decent chunk of time for myself here and there," Mel replies, shaking her head. "I just don't get many opportunities to spend it anywhere but on my ship. Do a lot of reading, watching shows and movies, that kind of thing. This is one of my rare nights out." She leans her head slightly as the next card is drawn, and then lifts both eyebrows when she sees Ayako's reaction to it. And then comes that question. "..." The marshal just sort of stares for a moment. "I come from a world of science and technology. Even psychic powers have some scientific explanation, damned if I can /understand/ it, but it's there. And here I sit, having a water spirit tell my fortune. So... yeah, yeah you could say that."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako smiles brightly, "Well it's good for you to get out of your ship!" She nods her head slowly. And then giggles brightly when Mel mentions how different things have gotten since unification. Especially since she mentioned that she's getting her fortune told by a water spirit. She grins playfully. "Did you know you're sitting on water right now?" She giggles brightly... and then takes a deep breath while she shakes her head to calm herself. "Anyway! Let's go on. This card... represents the near future."

The Heirophant, upright. "Hmm... looks like... you're going to get a first-hand education of the Multiverse is very soon. Or perhaps encounter friendship, assistance and good advice. Maybe even both." Ayako smiles softly.
Mel Brock     Mel sort of stares at Ayako for a second.

Then looks down at her chair.

Then looks back up at Ayako. "That... is a pretty neat trick."

But there's a card. Another card. Apparently one about education, advice and assistance. "Hmm. I'm already getting a pretty 'sink or swim' taste of what the Multiverse has to offer me, so I'm just gonna have to hope it's that second one, because if this is gonna get /crazier/ I don't know what I'll do. I still dont have my footing in all this."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako giggles softly and blushes lightly. "Aww... thank you." She then inclines her head to the side gently. "Hmm... well, I don't think any of us really ever get all of our footing in the Multiverse. I mean... new worlds unify almost daily. You can pretty much never be fully prepared for anything. You just learn to deal with it, and... perhaps start to look forward to the new experiences." She smiles brightly.

"But anyway! This next card represents the future." Ayako's sleeve reaches over and flips over the card closest to her in the cross. The Empress, upright. "Hmm..." Ayako's eyes blink slowly as she thinks... and looks over the other upright cards. "From this exposure, a new idea will grow from within you, Mel. One that will give you a great deal of satisfaction from being supported by what you believe in your heart."
Mel Brock     That one earns some quiet contemplation from Mel, at least a moment or two's worth, before she nods her head slightly. "Not really sure what to make of that one. I've always been kind of a 'focus on the present' kind of person. But if something like that does happen, I can't say I'd have a problem with it. I'm all for new and satisfying mindsets." She shifts her weight slightly in her chair, then nods towards the final card. "So we got the past, the present, the near future and the more general future. What's that one?"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako's amber eyes go down to the card that's still face down. "That card is a card of guidance. It can help. It can hurt. The advice can be helpful, but it might also lead you astray." She nods her head once. "In the end, it's up to you if you want to see what the card is."
Mel Brock     To that, Mel can only shrug. "Come this far, why not?"
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head once and nervously reaches for the face down card with her sleeve. "Well... here goes, then..." The Chariot, upright. "Hmm..." Amber eyes quickly trace over the rest of the face up cards. "Hard work, determination, willpower. Just be sure that you are on the right path first. If you do those things, you will be fine." She smiles brightly. "That's what these cards are telling me."
Mel Brock     "That... that sounds about like me," Mel says. She sits up properly again. "Some of it was a little vague, some of it was dead on in a way that makes me continue to wonder if there's some higher power having a laugh at my expense." The marshal gives herself a shake, then moves to stand up, the chair sliding back behind her. She holds out a hand over the table, offering a shake to Ayako. "Well, whether it ends up being right or not on the whole, it was an interesting way to spend a night off. Thanks for offering this, uh, service? Service works."
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako nods her head slowly and then giggles softly. When Mel holds her hand over the table, Ayako reaches over with her sleeve to shake her hand. It does seem that Ayako's hand is in that way-too-long sleeve. Probably not a good idea to look into the sleeve, though! "It was interesting, wasn't it?" She smiles brightly. "And you're very welcome!"

Ayako then begins shuffling the cards back into her tarot deck.
Ayako Hasekawa     Ayako leans back in her chair and retrieves a glass jar from her sleeve. As usual, her deck of tarot cards is swiftly bottled and placed back into her sleeve. She glances straight up into the night sky and sighs softly. "Ahh... this was a nice night. Time to head on home, I think." She floats off of her chair-and very rapidly, everything around her rapidly turns into water. The mat, the table, the chairs. Said water swiftly flies towards the floating water spirit and absorbs into her body, leaving no trace of ever being there.

She giggles softly and curtsies in mid-air towards the surroundings. "Well then... thank you very much Spring. Until next time." Ayako giggles brightly and then dissolves into water vapor, vanishing as the pale blue flames wink out around her.
