Kutsuuko Shiratori     It feels like late evening at local time when the contractees begin to show up, one after the other through an exceptionally well hidden and well policed underground warpgate, placed in what seems to be a military bunker built solely to house it. The gut feeling is helped by stepping out squinting into the bright, fiery amber glow of the sun setting through the hazy clouds above, but then a glance at any locally tuned clock will say that it's still at least an hour too early for that, and there are a lot of them.

It's not a very large outpost, most likely one of the fingertips of a beefier one closer to towards this 'Fenrir's main base, but the soldiers on site there, wearing no identifying insignia save for the fierce wolf's head clutching a crescent moon, have already finished loading up an extremely sizable troop transport truck, the back canopy taken down to make room for crates of supplies, extra fuel tanks, and some sort of massive . . . clamp? made of scarlet metal, fixed down on something very large and heavy. Very thoughtful of them, considering that they probably don't have many of these.

Kutsuuko, as the 'multiversal liason', is the one that meets them, as well as the tiny pseudo-shinki orbiting sedately around her shoulders. She actually seems to have been in the process of kicking someone out back through the warpgate for some reason or another, but subsequent arrivals seem to have no issue once they flash their mission acceptance code. She isn't driving, so those who don't have their own rides, flight, or superspeed, will be sharing the trip in the back seats.

The reason why the job was posted 'wilderness' style, and why everyone at the outpost seems to have backpacks and packing crates everywhere, becomes obvious after ten minutes of driving across barren, sandy soil without anything in sight, or anything in earshot save, the slowly approaching sound of the ocean, little more than a sad, rhythmic hiss of lonely waves, back and forth, without so much as a seagull for response. The destination comes into sight a ways on the horizon before the truck actually arrives: a cluster of buildings several city blocks across, heaped up on top of a natural rise in the land, easily mistaken for a terminal town if the ones at the outer edge weren't half, or mostly, buried in the sand. The entire place has clearly been abandoned for a while, but not the 'hundreds of years' kind. Streaked with rust and mottled with corrosion, with broken windows, crumbling ceilings, and exposed rebar, there is yet to be so much as a hint of moss to be seen on any corner. It would look as if hypothetical looters did most of the damage, if it weren't for the giant, eerily perfect circles taken out of them here and there like God's eraser.

"This is where we dismount. I'm not having the driver follow us in. The roads in this part of town haven't been good in ages. I hope you're ready for a bit of a hike. Report anything you see or hear, and I mean /anything/. If it's moving and it's any bigger than a plastic bag tumbling in the wind, it isn't harmless."
Kirika     Kirika is no stranger to wilderness survival, but this is not what she was expecting when she came to this world. The kitsune stares open eyed, mouth agape, at the desolate lands ahead of her. To think such was what became of this world in spite of its defenders chills her to the bone, and makes her wonder just what kind of monsters these Aragami are.

She has a data pad someone helpfully instructed her on using, reading the dossier Kutsuuko posted regarding her world and its details. She was thorough, helpfully enough, and Kirika seems to have a decent gauge on this world after a short read.

Oracle Cells, Aragami, political nuances, etc. All are in this document, and it's all Kirika needs to be able to understand the rest. One can only hope Kinugiri is able to cleave these creatures' flesh. The thought of the bigger ones gives her a shudder, imagining gods and other beings in such formidable monsters...

No wonder these warriors are called God-Eaters, if they are able to slay the larger beings.

Kirika hops off the transport, drawing her sword as she begins to scan out into the distance. Her ears and nose try to pinpoint distant threats, wherever they might linger.
Setsuko Kaminagi     To the uninitiated, it might seem like the six-foot-tall woman walking through the gate with only a katana sheathed at her side is just a tad under-equipped for this mission - but the visible scars, the strange presence about her, and the steady way she walks all make it obvious she's more than she seems at first glance. And to those who DO know her, it might almost seem peculiar that Setsuko hauls herself up into the truck to sit rather than flying along or riding on top. But it gives her a chance to ask a question or two that she has about the Aragami. She's new to this world, it's best to confirm a thing or two she remembers from dossiers.

But once they get there and it's time to hop out, the only response Setsuko has is a simple, "Understood." She lands lightly on her feet, drawing her sword from its sheath almost immediately so as to have it in hand at all times. "I'll take the lead," she says simply, moving to the fore of the group. Whenever Kutsuuko gives the go-ahead, she'll start moving at a steady walk.
Kyra Hyral     Kyra's familiar with wilderness survival.

More importantly, Kyra is familiar with dangerous city survival. Granted, it's not a city this /profoundly/ dangerous given her prior experience with the monsters here and how they almost killed her last time. But the abandoned city scenario is not unknown to her. She's come loaded with her own gear with even more potions, incendiaries, and other mixtures stacked away in her Matter Manipulator. Across her back is the grenade-launcher-look alike healing gun known as the CURE-ALL. It gleams brightly in the sun as they make their way into the city itself, hidden only as they move into the shade of the crumbling buildings.

"Alright. I'll be at the center of the group so I don't get jumped from behind." Plus a solid wall of meat around her felt like a good idea to Kyra right now. She moves into position once they leave the car, sliding up behind Kutsuuko himself.
Rebecca Chambers     The young paramilitary operative wearing a red cross on her back and pixie-styled hair may look like she's in over her head. But they say you should never judge a book by its cover, and that's definitely true with Rebecca Chambers. She's young but she's got plenty of experience under her belt. Not to mention, it's always helpful to have a medical specialist on missions where combat is inevitable, since being able to get patched up during a battle is always a plus. While some might be riding in on the truck, Rebecca is getting a ride in a S.T.A.R.S. issued helicopter, stopping only when the transport below stops, at which point, Rebecca gives a thumbs up to the pilot before descending to the ground on a rappelling cable. She lands in a slight crouch before signalling to the pilot that she made it.

Once she's on the ground, she stands attentively and listens to Kuutsuko's instructions and information about what's going on here. At the same time, she processes the information she got from reading the dossiers. Bits and pieces are strung together to form complete pieces of information. And every little bit helps in a situation like this. Rebecca remains attentive until Kuutsuko finishes speaking. It is only then when she is certain that Kuutsuko is finished that she does reply.

"Affirmative," Rebecca replies, saluting formally. "I'll take the rear so I can provide cover fire. Also, I have medical supplies, so in case someone gets injured, I can patch them up!"
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr arrives, flying in through the warpgate. Literally. She's wearing her Barrier Jacket and wielding her Axe-like Device in her left hand, as she alights and flashes up her acceptance code in a holographic screen. The truck ride has an aerial escort, the girl deciding to fly alongside, for a time, before she simply perches on the cab for the rest of the way until they group dismount.

"Right, I'll take the high road and give you a birds-eye overwatch. I can fire from very long range, so don't hesitate to call in Code Zeus for a tactical strike if you need it." she offers, giving a salute before jumping... and continuing to climb until she's barely visible to the naked eye.

"Divine Wind, area ping... anything suspicious to your sensors?"

    Divine Wind chimes resonantly. <SCANNING.>
Sanary Rondel      Of course Sanary's going to be here. There's big monsters involved, and she's got the right gear for hunting big monsters! Maybe. She's more prepared than last time, at least, now that she knows what to expect. Clad in her green armor with the samurai motif and a riot shield on her back, the cleric arrives with her Charge Blade's shield in one hand and a staff in the other. She's also got the actual blade of the previously mentioned Charge Blade tied to her waist, but she's really hoping she won't need to switch to that depending on how many allies show up tonight.

Thankfully, it looks like there's quite a few to work with today, especially with several familiar faces around. Although none of them are Confederates, she's still a professional (or pretending to be one), and she's not about to let a few factional difference sour that.

"I'll stick near the middle, too, then. Support for the front-liners, and if anything comes after anyone in the back or the center..." She taps her staff against the kite shield lightly. "I'll keep 'em busy. Or... Blow 'em up. Either or~"
Alden      Despite his admitedly cute looks, Alden had spent his fair time in the wilderness, and had some survival skills, being able to turn into a large wolf beast tends to help a bit on those matters too. Still, he was not really used to the 'deserted city' kind of situation they were expecting, nor the way the land seemed to be... desolate. It brought him some very bad... memories, enough to make him shudder as he casts away the thoughts.

Reading the information they gave him did not help with that feeling either!. Still, he hopes to be able to be more useful against these creatures, than he was... back at his home world. Like usual, he only carried his D-Arc and card box, no other weapons, so he does not take that much space.

As they climb out of the vehicles to the city, he is quick to take a position near the front, "I think I will remain near the front, don't want to make a wrong choice." he says softly. "I am good for melee or ranged attacks, but I am not that great at massive range." He considered just evolving from the get go, but worries about using too much energy before they engage in a fight, he can change very, very quickly.
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna knows a few things about this world by now, and she comes appropriately loaded for bear - already in Powered Form, Matrix Divider in hand, Shugoseiheki at the ready, and with Elner, Marina, and Erina all sticking close to her in case she needs to change forms in a hurry, or just needs the extra firepower on a given target. Elner is already scanning for Aragami activity in the area as soon as Yuna emerges from the warpgate, too, even before hearing Kutsuuko's instructions.

... although upon *hearing* those instructions, Elner broadens its search parameters for, well, 'everything'. The little robo-faerie also opens a data-sharing channel - initially with Divine Wind and Shiro, but others with compatible sensors and data-analysis capabilities will be 'invited' to join the datashare band as well.

Yuna looks at Sanary with a brief, wry grin. "I guess I qualify for the front lines, don't I ... ?" She indicates her own shield - and, well, her heavy armament in general. She certainly *looks* like she's geared to be the party tank, or one of them.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Despite what looks the soldiers might be giving the new arrivals through those tinted visors, Kutsuuko and Shiro know well by now that real Elites will show up looking like whatever they want and usually still not die, and so neither of them have any objections to the sight of those who show up. It makes the ride a little less boring, though, honestly, no less tense. There's a certain kind of unpleasant uncanny valley between the extremes of a world that has gone totally dark and dead and a world that is on fire and covered with zombies, where the sun keeps shining, the waves keep pounding, the wind keeps blowing, and it doesn't look like everyone left /that/ long ago, but there isn't a tumbleweed or a stray mosqito for as far as the eye can see.

Magic, futuristic scanners and super hearing can certainly pick up a little more than that though. Despite its totally dead and silent exterior, the development on the hilltop is buzzing with motion in place to place; probably dozens of individual sources, likely more than the job actually entailed. The very smallest among them are the size of a minivan being the glorified jaws with legs that Yuna and Kyra had encountered last time -- like hyper muscular, armless velociraptors, with massive tusks and bladed tails, covered in bone white armour with odd, kabuki-esque etchings -- and so it's a small wonder as to how the group aside from Kirika can't hear them a mile off. They prowl around the empty streets in an endless, patient circuit, looking like dumb animals until they decide to peer through a broken storefront window or lean down to scope beneath an abandoned car, still checking the usual spots humans like to hide even though they likely haven't seen one in years.

They only get bigger from there, culminating with by far the largest and highest energy signatures in the area; four of them total, two identical to each other, one frequently going airborne, and the last being twice the other's weight. Definitely the primary targets of the assignment. It's almost disappointingly easy to find them with that kind of reconnaissance advantage, but then these are creatures that have never once had to hide in their lifetimes. It's less a fox hunt so much as a tank hunt. Urban warfare.

Kutsuuko takes her time getting off the truck, instead going to the massive red clamp and inserting her hand through some sort of aperture in its side, which closes down around that armoured bracelet affixed to her wrist before the rest of the device opens up, like some kind of authentication process. "This is normally where we'd split into two man cells, seeing as we have four targets and there's eight of you, but Paylor is adamant that I keep an eye on what's going on so we can get a good idea of how this is going to work in future. That said, trying to fight all of them in the same backyard is just going to turn into chaos and get someone killed, so I'd suggest those of you who consider yourself support types picking a front liner you like the look of and sticking close to them, but a respectable distance from the others. We're going to pull the Aragami into the same area, but keep each of them occupied with two or three people at a time. We absolutely do not need them joining together as a unit. If they start coordinating, this will get a lot harder than it needs to be. Make it a pretty wide distance too. Every single Aragami can shoot at you, and you don't want to get shot in the back. I'll update you once you've found targets."
Kutsuuko Shiratori     hat discussed, there is a short period to find positions, scout out ahead, or pick formal partnerships. The mechanical apparatus disengages, and Kutsuuko withdraws her God Arc from its rest, picking up what must be a metric ton of shimmering red, gold and black machinery like an aluminium baseball bat, unfolding from storage configuration into its assault cannon mode, Fervore. Shiro picks up something from out of a lockbox on the truck bed before sailing off into the sky, turning into a little white glimmering dot. Only a short walk in, that tiny star in the sunset sky becomes the source of an incredibly loud but difficult to hear sound shivering against the terrain like microphone feedback, almost entirely beyond the range of even Kirika's hearing, as if it isn't exactly a sound at all. Yuna and Zephyr immediately pick up on their tracked movement signals starting to converge from all over, inexorably drawn towards the shinki lookalike's position. Setsuko can feel the impending battle right away. A short, but intense one, no doubt.

She can also feel something else. As Kutsuuko takes hand of that weapon, and its control core glows softly to life, for the first few seconds, the feeling of impending combat is drowned out completely by the God Eater's presence. Not her intent to fight, or her potential future of fighting, but as if she /herself/ is the location of a battle. The young woman seems /exude/ an aura of war; one so sickeningly violent, cruel and bloody that it feels more like religious genocide than an armed dispute, and one of such distant scale as defies imagination. It fades into background noise pretty quickly, but it'd be impossible for her to miss it.

There isn't much time to worry on it anyways. In less than a minute, the streets are rumbling with thundering footfalls and the gravel is dancing on the eroded asphalt. The small fry are a given, showing up in numbers straight away, but getting rid of those is Kutsuuko's job, and not what the group is being paid for. The primary targets are glaringly obvious among them.

The front of an apartment complex crashes open as an identical pair of creatures that could almost be described as gorillas rip their way straight through the wall, three times anyone's height and completely hairless, covered in strange brassy protrusions and with a head half the size of the torso that is more or less all mouth, large enough to fit the front end of a car in. Their faces seem to be such close mimics of traditional tengu masks as to be deliberately copied, though the purpose of the bizarre, fleshy pipes growing out of their back is less obvious. They are followed from the opposite side of a parking lot by something even larger, flat bellied and borderline limbless, like a land crawling fish, covered in thick scales and African ritual fur, most of its slug-like body dedicated to its even more gargantuan maw and the stone-like apparatus affixed to its head like a crown, etched in unreadable runes reminiscent of some ancient Aztec civilization. The shadow of something flying passes over, but that one is more difficult to see, too high up and too fast. None of them so much as slow down at the sight of the group. It's like the instant they heard the sound, they knew what to expect.
Kirika     The wastelands are barren, lifeless, dry. There is no sign of any kind of green for kilometers, like the world just up and began to go off life support and is gradually falling to disuse. It's terrifying, a stark reminder to Kirika of what will become of other worlds if the actions of Elites do not come in time. She is tense, a huntress prowling across the ground with sword in hand.

She spies the velociraptor-looking beasts, wary of them as it is. Kirika begins to scout ahead, running ahead of the group before she hears that bizarre anti-sound. She looks around in confusion, sword at the ready, and she feels the streets rumble like an imminent quake across fault lines. "What is this...?"

She'll get her answer pretty quickly, as the monsters come. Glaring down the gorilla looking things, Kirka furrows her brow and charges one, her sword brandished as she leaps at the beast.
Setsuko Kaminagi     Setsuko's sense of hearing is sharp enough to pick up that faint, distant motion. She is utterly silent, only keeping that steady pace and sweeping the area with eyes and ears until her vision can match up with what her ears are telling her... and, of course, with the fight she senses coming. Lacking anything else, she'd trust her instinctive feel for the 'flow' of a battle to guide her tactical decisions, but Shiratori knows how these things work better than the demigod does; it's a sound plan made by someone better-equipped to do so than her. "Understood." She gives the group a quick glance-over, before meeting Sanary's eyes and giving her a small nod. They've worked together before. This should work well.

She's quick to move outward a little, leading her partner of the moment fair distance off as instructed by Kutsuuko but still remaining within sight. She's still as a statue in wait, when the God Eater powers up her weapon, and for a few moments the swordswoman turns to stare hard. Sanary might pick up a brief shimmer of blue aura around the demigod, as if her divinity were exerting itself in response. But it's gone almost as soon as it's there.

Which is good. Because there's monsters bearing down. Some big ones. The battle has begun, and Setsuko acts without hesitating, pointing her blade at the Kongou Zephyr has launched herself at. "I'm going for that one." It's just a quick call for Sanary's sake, before she takes off at a full-speed highway run straight towards her intended target. Zanjintou in hand, still in its 'sealed' katana form, she takes a simple hop at just the right time, to come down with the blade in a falling slash on the aragami gorilla's side.
Yuna Kagurazaka Multiple primary targets, huh? Yuna can work with that ... and the Gboro-Gboro catches her sight. Yuna signals Kyra, trying to coordinate their efforts, and heads for the big, stone-headed Aragami for now. Elner is helping keep track of where the rest of their allies (and their respective targets) are, but Yuna's focus remains on what looks like the biggest and toughest of the lot.

Hopefully she's not just about to find out how well Kyra's healing can protect somebody who gets the attention of a monster that is, in fact, too big and too strong for Yuna to handle on her own.

She 'stalks' the Gboro-Gboro for a little bit, making sure of where it's likely to head if left to its own devices (while letting herself and Kyra get used to each other's rhythms in combat) ... and then she stops leaving it to its own devices, opening up with the Matrix Divider as Erina and Marina begin raining rapid-fire pulse blasts and miniature 'torpedo'-like missiles on it from the sky.
Rebecca Chambers     The barren wastelands are a testament to Rebecca that sometimes, you can't always win. Sometimes it's because you fail your objective, and sometimes it's because you didn't get there in time. Regardless, Rebecca doesn't let this morbid thought stick with her for too long, as she knows she has a mission to attend to. She draws her MP5K and loads a clip into it, not wanting to be caught empty-handed in the event something unexpected happens. "After all, the best rule of thumb is to expect nothing and be ready for anything..."

Rebecca frowns as she spots the strange dinosaur like beasts in the distance. She attempts to squint a little, before drawing her binoculars, and her eye twitches a little. "I'm... afraid to even ask..." She mutters to no one specific, and she's hoping nobody answers her, because sometimes the answer isn't exactly pleasant. And then the gorilla-like beings come out, and Rebecca's eyes widen even more. She feels a bead of sweat on her face, which grows in size when she spots the 'land fish.'

After a moment, Rebecca shakes her head and puts her binoculars away quickly. "Time for a little extreme fishing!" Rebecca says as she attempts to open fire on the fish-like creatures from afar, in hopes that she can do some damage against them.
Kyra Hyral     "Splitting up is a bad idea." Kyra voices hastily, "A very bad idea. But those tactics seem agreeable-I have no problems sticking somewhere that I can't be hit." She pulls a rifle out of her matter manipulator, which is already loaded with explosive darts that Kyra hand-makes. She gestures to Yuna, indicating that she'll be the personal support for her, before scooting off to find a good position to snipe from, very careful around the abandoned buildings that are likely to start having structural integrity issues.

Before she takes her position, she definitely places a Protect, Shell, and Bravery spell on Yuna. That way she is adequately protected from physical and magical attacks-plus she will get a boost to her combat abilities too.

Once in position she doesn't shoot, not yet, making sure she has a clear shot without hurting Yuna in the process. Not giving away her position was a good idea too.
Alden      Alden nods as he hears just how dangerous the things... are, and he finally decides that there is no point saving energy. He lacks super hearing... or really much beyond a somewhat sensitive nose, decent hearing, and some special sense for digimon (and similar creatures), so he is stuck with whatever intel the others give to him. The rumbling on the ground certainly helps make up his mind of how far to take things.

"No point trying to hold back apparently." he says, inwardly hoping that... the darn card will work. He reaches and quickly looks for one in particular, sliding it through the reader slot on his D-Arc, "Warp digivolve!". Nothing happens the first split second, enough to make him worry, before the familiar surge passes through his form. Basically, the gabumon seems to explode into voxels in a flash of light, only to be replaced with a rather tall quadrupedal... robot wolf?, cyborg wolf?, it is a bit hard to tell. It seems to be a ranged fighter, if the missile launchers on it's shoulders are a sign!. He quickly scans for a good target, affraid to hurt someone by acident. He does notice the flying creature, and tries to keep track of it, in case it tries to attack the group.
Sanary Rondel      "Looks like we've got a lot to deal with today..." Sanary muses with a confident chuckle, making sure both of her shields are firmly in place before taking her Charge Blade and jamming it right into the top of her kite shield. It's more convenient than keeping it at her waist, at least, and it might even be useful later if things line up right!

For now, however, the cleric is content to keep the staff in her main-hand, letting her magic linger in both the staff and her shield hand with a faint glow. She tosses a quick burst of energy Kutsuuko's way as the Fenrir operative works on keeping the small fries at bay, the turns her attention to Setsuko before giving her a knowing nod. She's seen the swordswoman at work before, and she's confident that she can keep up well enough to at least give her enough juice to go nuts with that massive blade. How else could she explain that weird glow and those moves?

Besides working out a lot, anyway.

"The ape thing? I got your back, Setsuko. Let's go all out, then!" Figuratively, at least. Chasing after Setsuko, Sanary forgoes using the staff to instead send out her energy towards her directly, a faint green light 'linking' them together. Although it's not really healing the swordswoman at the moment, it does allow her to draw on Sanary's energy reserves instead of relying solely on her own. She also directs some magic into the Libra matrix in her eye, trying to get a bead on the Kongou in order to determine any possible elemental strengths and weaknesses!
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr furrows her brow a little, that anti-sound is making it hard to consentra--- oh, it's a /lure/! Makes sense. Divine Wind warns of the flying object circling just out of view... so the aerial mage shifts her flight pattern to intercept, drawing out multiple orbs of energy to follow in her wake like little fairies. The two spinning 'fan'-like Bits gather energy themselves, hanging beside her like a certain spaceship's support units, ready to open fire when a lock is established. "Give me something Dee, any hypothesis on what this thing can do?"

<INSUFFICIENT DATA. IMPULSE CASCADE READY. MISTRAL BLASTER READY. SCANNING FOR TARGET. ESTIMATE INTERCEPT IN 30 seconds.>
Kutsuuko Shiratori     The noise stops as soon as the battle is joined. No sense in attracting any more Aragami, after all. Shiro's voice comes on over her ingested radio components. "Just like Tsubaki said. Gboro Gboro, Chi-You, two Kongou, all standard types. I'm coming down." Kutsuuko slings her massive weapon underarm, glancing at the ammo display from the corner of her eye as she sizes up the rows of ogretails moving in behind their alphas, probably deliberating whether to wait and scavenge the kills of the larger Aragami, or to charge in and help out. "Got it Shiro. Grab the grenade package and hang back for a little. You know what to do."

Settling on a bullet selection, she levels Scarlet Symphony's barrel assembly, and then nails down the neural trigger, the snarling of wild monsters momentarily eclipsed by the deafening roar of fully automatic missile fire, shrieking trails of fire and smoke zipping and weaving through the air like a swarm of dragonflies, diving over, under and around allies and obstacles to swerve in on the smaller Aragami and blow them to bits with a half a dozen detonations each, steadily gunning them down in smart-fusillade until the rest break and run, quickly and efficiently leaving the group with just their quarry.

Kirika is the first to meet hers, and the first to find out exactly what the report means. A big, hulking, grotesque and hungry looking gorilla monsters stares her down with those beady, featureless eyes, drool visibly oozing between its exposed teeth, and then just as she closes, plants one foot backwards just out of her reach, and swings its forearm up to intercept her blade in an almost martial expulsion with a resounding, metallic clang. The blade breaches its brassy exterior and cuts down to where a bone should logically be, spurting dark, maroon-black blood, but the monster doesn't seem to focus on the wound, instantly lunging for the fox woman instead with a sickening wave of heat from its bellowing maw, reaching to grasp her head in its gargantuan fist and crush it.

The second Kongou leaps straight for her, as if it had rehearsed the maneuver with its twin, bearing down on her from behind, only for Setsuko to intercept it, the axe blade slicing straight through its softer side and spraying and impressive gout of oily gore that spins as the monster does, palpably ramming into its spine. What should have at least paralyzed it, if not cut it in half though, only seems to anger it. Red vapour flows from its mouth as it roars out, and then the fleshy pipes on its back swell and engorge, briefly shuddering before releasing some sort of pressure wave that instantly hits her like a runaway mac truck. It staggers in a pool of its own blood as it pulls itself back up, and then a couple of seconds later, regains its footing as its spine fuses back together, working on the wound itself next.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Yuna's chosen target is the Gboro Gboro, and it looks like a good one. A big, fat, alligator-slug-fish . . . thing, can't possibly be much of a challenge for her aerial mobility, and indeed she has no issue whatsoever getting the jump on it, bombarding it from on high with a surprise hail of firepower that completely engulfs it in flame, smoke and dust, obviously still there only by its hoarse, ear-grating shrieking. A few seconds later, it only comes charging right out of the dust cloud, skipping across the ground at a preposterous speed considering the way it seems to move only on two fins and a stubby tail, painting the ground behind it red like a bloody paintbrush.

It fixes onto her quickly though, twisting its lack of neck upwards to meet her. The protrusion behind its head swivels upwards, like cocking the hammer of a gun, and then the next instant it claps back down again, the central stone 'horn' on its crown acting as a gun turret, firing off a blast of what looks like it might be water, but is moving so fast that it could be liquid metal for all she can tell. It fires multiple times too, going over and over again until a spray of bullets catch it in its broad side, turning its attention back towards Rebecca within more convenient eating distance, and persuading it to charge towards her instead, slide tackling into her with its mouth open.
Kirika     These beasts look a lot like the Nue of Kirika's world. That necromancer from the festival in particular, and she faces the gorilla without fear or hesitation. She grunts in exertion as she struggles, severing the attacking blade before she staggers from the heat. God, that breath is immensely foul.

Kirika slashes at the hand grasping at her, struggling as it grabs onto her head with a grip like a vise. "UNHAND ME!" She roars, trying to pry the monster's grip from her with a slash at the gorilla-thing's wrist to sever it, leaving behind a blazing hot wound.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Alden and Zephyr catch sight of the aerial Aragami again. Despite the impressive wingspan, it actually looks humanoid, in a similar grotesque sort of way. A blue-grey and violet, fleshy sort of thing covered in growths of what look to be hard crystal, utterly faceless aside from the nasty jaws that seem to be a recurring theme here. Its wings actually appear to be a second set of arms more than anything, terminating in gargantuan, clawed fists, the span in between comprised of long blades of some hard material laced together by dozens of flexible joints. It's already seen them though. It circles back around as the gunfire starts and sweeps low, diving like a jet fighter and at a speed just about ready to match. As it reaches Zephyr, it doesn't ram into her, but spin into an actual, honest to god, roundhouse kick with its massive talons aimed at her neck, and then continues the motion by pointing one of its wing-palms towards Alden and firing off a blinding flash of some glowing, ki-like energy that immediately explodes like an armour piercing missile.
Rebecca Chambers     Before Rebecca even has a chance to check her ammo or move to another vantage position, she finds herself being slide tackled and dropping to the ground. "Unnngh! Red card!" She semi-babbles out. Unfortunately, that's not the type of red she'll be seeing if she's not careful. That thing has its mouth wide open and is ready to eat Rebecca for lunch! Unfortunately, Rebecca doesn't want to become a meal for this bizarre thing. She gasps and scoots backwards with her hands a little, sliding on her rear as she does so, while reaching into her belt for something.

"Are you that hungry that you want to eat a S.T.A.R.S. member?" Rebecca asks sarcastically. "Then how about an appetizer first!" Rebecca yells as she hurls a fragmentation grenade towards the mouth of the strange creature before finally pushing herself up back onto her feet and backing away quickly.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Sanary picks up that both Kongou share predictable identical attributes. Neither of them seem strongly unbalanced in any real direction, being strong and fast all-rounders with few real weaknesses, save having no real defense against electrical attacks, offset by extreme resistance to cold. Kyra would be able to tell roughly the same with any use of her SCAN spell, though for the time being she's being left alone due to the others being louder and closer, like a smart healer should.
Setsuko Kaminagi     Having Sanary to cover her back is, in a way, a relief for Setsuko. As long as they're on the same side, she knows the cleric's reliable. The demigod's 'reserves' are nigh limitless, but even so, the added energy from Sanary allows her to push herself harder, to move a bit faster, hit a bit more fiercely. And it shows in how hard the Kongou takes her hit, the katana in her hands cutting smoothly... but even with that, it's only pissed off, and the counterblast blows Setsuko clear off her feet, sending her in a tumble across the ground that ends in a one-knee crouch, scrapes and cuts across her body. She hisses when she takes in a breath; that's a cracked rib.

But she can work through it, especially with Sanary backing her up. Immediately, she's on her feet again, and charging straight ahead. If that hit was a mack truck, Setsuko's advance is a speeding motorcycle, running at highway speed with surprising agility. It's hurt, and she intends to capitalize on that. Her blade shimmers briefly as she infuses it with more of her power, as if preparing herself for one of her cutting waves of energy; but instead, she leaps on the attack and unleashes it point blank as part of her next cut, trying to go right through the Aragami's back again at a different angle, with an even more vicious attack. "Haaa!"
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna's in Powered Form, not Flight Form - but that still gives her plenty of speed to evade; when the Gboro Gboro opens up on her with that 'water cannon' in its horn, she's quick to interpose her shield, her defensive aura flaring under the impacts. A sufficiently high-pressure stream of water can cut through metal just like a plasma torch, after all, and Yuna winces under the onslaught even as she's trying to tank it.

And then Rebecca draws the aggro off of her. It's almost a relief - but in point of fact, the S.T.A.R.S. medic is probably in much more danger than Yuna was ... and Yuna's line of fire is no longer safe for her to use the beam cannons.

Hoo boy.

"Rebecca, move!" Yuna calls out as she shifts from 'circling' the Gboro Gboro and instead accelerates straight towards it, gripping the Matrix Divider tightly and focusing as much power into the weapon's business end as she can. "HaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" She rears back just before impact, *STABS* as deep as she can into the Gboro Gboro's hindquarters, or whatever passes for them ... and *THEN* pulls the trigger, discharging the accumulated energy straight into the Aragami's interior.

Even if it doesn't take out the core, that should at least slow the thing down a bit.
Sanary Rondel      "Alright... I got something. They're weak against lightning!" Sanary calls out over the radio, an uncomfortable shiver going through her a moment later. She's not exactly fond of lightning attacks in that armor herself, so... Well, it's probably for the best that she's sticking to support for the time being. She doesn't want to get caught up in any potential friendly fire, after all, and she's still got that kite shield with the sword wedged into it in case she needs to act as a literal meat wall!

Watching Setsuko cleave right into the ape-like Aragami before getting sent back, Sanary raises her Physic staff and powers her energy into it to direct some long-ranged immediate healing her way. She's gotten quite accustomed to using it lately, although the small orb atop the staff is already showing some fading in its coloration. And as today's partner goes charging back into the fray...

Surely the cleric can do some damage of her own with the Charge Blade, right? Maybe later, but for now, she'll bide her time. She even glances around a few times to make sure no other attacks or lesser Aragami are coming Setsuko's way, ready to call them out if needed while continuing to provide her energy to draw from.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Feeling the Kongou's fist closing around her head will not be a pleasant experience for Kirita. Aside from the fact that it actually burns lightly to the touch, as if its skin itself were corrosive, it's a sudden and frank realization of just how strong the thing is. Of course it's already logical to expect some level of brutish might from a gorilla lookalike the size of several pickups, but the incredible pressure she can feel on her skull from the first twitch of its tendons is alarming even considering that.

The extra fire attribute seems reasonably effective, slicing all the way through the Aragami's musculature, thus eliminating its ability to keep hold of her, and leaving its hand dangling from its partially sever, but again the mutilating injury doesn't seem to dissuade it. It actually jerks its arm to purposefully detach the hanging extremity, letting the severed hand flop to the ground a few meters away, and then leaps skyward, somersaulting over her head and bringing both forearms crashing down hard enough to shatter the asphalt and spray jagged chunks of old road through nearby windows.

Setsuko's enemy is even less lucky, but a little more prepared. It wastes no time in coming out swinging for her as she dives into its range, but she accelerates too quickly for it, leaving its fist crashing into and hurling a broken down van instead of her lifeless body. As her katana builds up charge, it actually hops back instead of pressing the assault, pulling both of its arms in close and crossing them over its midsection, so that her sword has to go through both of them first. It does. Just barely. Zanjintou takes off one wrist completely and shatters the other forearm bone. Any local would find it incredible, Setsuko probably just finds it annoyingly tough. Perhaps starting to sense that it might be outclassed though, the Kongou begins backing off, lunging up to the second floor of the same apartment complex and firing a quadruple spread shot of pressure blasts, these ones acting like long ranged bullets.

"Keep at it! Hit the same place until the cell bonds break! Don't just stab it all over and expect it to drop or it'll keep regenerating the damage!" Kutsuuko yells over the gunfire. "Take outs its arms or its legs and pipes and then aim for the base of the throat, third rib down!"
Kyra Hyral     Kyra's a little relieved that, for once, she's not coming under attack. She suspects this would change if she started taking shots at the monsters so she holds off on that until she can tell one is near enough to death that she could snipe it with one well-aimed shot. She evaluates each target with her Scan spells to determine just this thing, in fact, learning about the lack of electricity defenses.

Upon learning this, she quickly starts switching ammo from explosive rounds to a sort of homemade 'EMP bullet' that is equivalent to a medium lightning spell.

But she doesn't fire this yet, switching weapons entirely to the CURE-ALL. She aims it at a space between Kirika and Rebecca because when she fires, the result is a concentrated blast of healing magic that explodes into an area of effect somewhat akin to a grenade. Only instead of firey pain, it's a wave of white magic.
Zephyr Windstar     <MASTER!> "I see it!"

If the Aragami's a fighter jet, Zephyr's a cheating space craft with six degress of freedom. She pulls out of her forward momentum, narrowly missing that roundhouse slash at her neck with a mid-air back somersault. The thing probably expected that first strike to be a fatal one, and the Mage aims to capitalize on it.

"FIRE!" is her cry, and with a rapid staccatto of thudding blasts, the little fae lamps around her lash outward at the Aragami, followed by highly concentrated 'lasers' from the two Bits at her sides, aiming to slice through the beast, like probes to seek out the hidden 'core' within.
Kirika     Surprisingly that actually worked. Kirika throws the hand aside, grunting in pain as she feels her head going fuzzy. That pressure wasn't really good for her, and she might actually have felt a crack in her skull from that squeeze. Her body knits together some of the damage, but she's still woozy when Kyra tosses her a heal to fix the rest.

Thank the Lady for White Mages, as Kirika's vision clears just in time to see the Kongou coming down on top of her. "Tch!" She forms lightning in her hands, before she leaps in time to avoid being caught in the impact of the Kongou. Overhearing a comment by Sanary over the radio gives her reason to keep going with lightning, and she flings a decent-strength bolt towards the Aragami.

If the bolt hits by some miracle, it'll fry the Kongou with over a million volts alone, hitting like a strike from the heavens itself. THat said, Kirika's aim is pretty poor like this, so it might catch the Kongou in the blast radius at best.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     With an open maw big enough to casually stroll into, there's no way that Rebecca can actually miss. The frag grenade plunks into the Gboro's waiting mouth like an incredibly satisfying waste paper basket shot, and then goes off just before landing in anything digestive, 100% of the full force of the explosion absorbed by the monster's slimy insides. It stumbles in place, sliding face first against the ground, before rearing back and vomiting out the shrapnel in a slurry of its own blood, and then /keeps going/.

It's feet away from devouring Rebecca whole when Yuna plunges down from above and rams that blade through its stubby 'tail', pinning it to the ground with another hissing snarl of reptilian pain. It thrashes around to try and bite at her, but she's too far behind it, and its body doesn't twist that well. Before he finally pulls the trigger though, it seems to clue in, and abruptly goes still, arching its body upwards and unfolding its crown again, and then clamping down at the same exact instant Yuna fires. Its entire tail section is blown right off, leaving a smoking, bloody, charcoal stump, but in return, some sort of gas released into the air around her abruptly explodes as well, and then subsequently /implodes/ into a crushing vortex.

"The core is too deep into its chest cavity!" Shiro warns from afar. "Try to break off its horn first! Gboro almost never run away until that happens!"
Setsuko Kaminagi     Setsuko's injuries begin to knit the moment Sanary's healing washes over her, and it's a relief - the cracked rib especially. Her natural regeneration makes the healing even more effective, on par with her opponent's ability to regrow a spine in seconds at this point. And it's as tough as she is agile, the demigod realizes. She tries to press the attack, but it's out of her reach before she can follow up; and then when she goes to pursue, it unloads pressure bullets that have her diving and rolling out of the way, scowling faintly. Going straight up at it will be a problem.

So she simply won't go straight at it.

Instead, Setsuko calls over her shoulder, "I'm chasing after it. I'll try to bring it down here," and then in a split second she has already leapt. But rather than straight at the Kongou, she goes at an angle, hurling herself up and to one side where she can springboard. It's a very minor application of her flight, one that she'd learned to do unconsciously from the moment she took up her blade - lowering her own gravity so that she can more or less 'pinball' herself to come in at an unexpected angle. This time, rather than put the momentum of her charge into her attack itself, however, she uses it to /plant/ herself. Right beside the Aragami ape. And then she begins to slash and strike, one after another, each one flooded with that divine blue power. Forget the Kongou itself, anything /behind/ it is in danger of being carved apart at this point. Strike after strike, meant to overwhelm its defense rather than power through it, and push the thing back towards the street. A fight of attrition.
Alden      Incoming! The digimon decides it is time to do something, and while the creature starts the sweeping through the gunfire, deciding to help!. He shifts his stance, eyes narrowing as he 'locks on' the flying monster. There is a series of clicks comign from his frame, as several hidden parts of his 'armor' click, revealing a large number of weapon ports.

He finishes launching the attack about the same time the monster at about the same moment it tries to roundhouse poor Zephyr, each of the openings unleashing a single missile. There is a lot of those, most of them small, and a couple larger ones, all flying at high speed towards the creature!.

The focus for teh aiming and launching the projectiles means Alden is too slow to completely dodge the blast, receiving a glancing hit as he jumps aside receiving a glancing hit which sending him down to the ground, at least for a few moments. Still, the projectiles had a lock on the position of the thing, the wings to be precise, since they were rather large, and he hoped to at least slow it down. The projectiles mostly hit their mark, blasting against the metallic limb, thick ice forming on the area hit by each projectile.
Sanary Rondel      Sanary raises her staff again to send a few more bursts of potent healing magic into Setsuko, apparently subscribing to the school of OVERHEAL EVERYTHING and deal with any attention that draws later. Of course, using the Physic staff so many times in a short time seems to only amplify its durability issues, and the orb turns completely cloudy while the wooden handle just crumbles outright.

So much for trying to stay out of Setsuko's way while healing her. Still, that's an excuse for Sanary to get closer, and get closer she does! She needs to keep the energy flowing into the demigod, after all, both for healing and to make use of the cleric's energy reserves. She approaches them both from an angle as well, moving opposite of where Setsuko had before since...

Okay, the cleric's not the fastest person on her feet. Even with the AANS, she's still not quite that fast. She's persistent, though, and just a little reckless as she wonders... Just how much damage could the Charge Blade do, anyway? Perhaps not too much if she draws it out of the shield, but she /did/ wedge the sword into the shield for a reason...

Namely, to wield the entire thing as a massive axe instead with the shield itself forming the axe blade! The whole thing is quite literally taller than she is, and it's rather unwieldy as she powers up the anklets to make a big jump towards Setsuko and the Kongou from an angle, distinctly trying to avoid the back of Setsuko's slashes. As Sanary's coming down, she bellows out loudly before swinging that massive axe at the Aragami's side, trying to bring some of her own damage into the fight!
Yuna Kagurazaka The problem with committing THAT much to an attack is that Yuna doesn't have enough time to react when it blows up in her face. Or more accurately, in her *everything* - and then the explosion gives way to a crushing implosion. The Light Suit's defensive aura is under EXTREME strain right now, but the exoskeleton holds up, hover-thrusters flickering, then flaring as Jiina tries to get Yuna further away from the stone-headed Aragami; Elner can only watch and try to advise Yuna's allies, while Erina and Marina - still keeping their distance from any and all Aragami - toss their occasional attacks. It's really up to Rebecca and/or Kyra to keep the Gboro Gboro from whipping around and trying to finish Yuna off, though.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     The wind ripping over Zephyr as she dodges actually hurts against her skin, even though it can't actually injure her, as if the Chi-You's claws had managed to somehow rake over her anyways. She can quite clearly see them digging into the ground however, churning up the concrete as the odd Aragami stops and spins on the ball of its humanoid foot, turning to face her with its 'normal' arms still even more oddly crossed over its chest, as if still standing around in one place. She barely has time to utter the word before it's already attack again, off the ground in the blink of an eye and coming at her with a punching attack that still looks eerily like actual martial arts, bizarrely elongated by the span of its arm wing.

It's still not fast enough to both attack her a second time and get out of the way of her return fire. The twin lasers lance straight through its torso at two different points, scissoring through what should be the left lung, heart, left kidney and liver, though it still retains enough vitality to rock back on one foot in a sort of crane stance and swat away a handful of the lamp blasts with rapid fire movements of its fists, the rest exploding against its wings and cracking off shards of hard but brittle material.

Holding briefly against the tide of TSAB aerial mage's barrage is impressive, but ultimately unwise as Alden joins in too, the fresh wave of missiles slamming down all over the creature's crystalline exterior and driving it off again in a flurry of flapping and shrieking, leaving behind splatters of blood and pieces of chipped and fractured armour. It glides to a safe distance out, for a moment seeming like it's going to retreat, before settling to earth again and adopting yet another distinctly learned stance, curling both its fists in accordance with a non-existent fighting style. When it begins throwing them forward machine-gun-jab style, each thrust of its knuckles lets off a blast of that golden energy, each one of them arcing through the air to home in on both Zephyr and Alden. Two dozen homing shots are followed by a textbook two handed pose, and a single, far larger blast, ploughing straight ahead without guidance, and bulldozing through the entire length of the street.
Rebecca Chambers     Rebecca had just tossed the grenade into the creature's mouth, when it apparently exploded. If it wasn't that, then something else caused it to explode. Rebecca tried to leap out of the way, but the shockwave (if you want to call it that) hits her and causes her to stumble onto the ground. She groans a little, gripping her arm in pain. "Unngh... dammit." She mutters, until she gets a transmission over her communicator indicating what's happened to her colleague. Rebecca's face changes from a look of pain to a look of concern, then of anger. "They won't get away with this!"

Rebecca faces the Gboro Gboro with her machine gun drawn still. "I'll make you regret what you've done!" She opens fire on the Gboro Gboro, attempting to weaken it enough so Kyra can go in and try to remove the horn from it. Rebecca knows she's putting herself in the line of danger, but she won't leave anyone behind no matter what!
Zephyr Windstar     <HOSTILE TARGET LOCK-ON!> shrills Divine Wind, as it hastily erects a bubble shield to take some of the incoming shots. It doesn't last long, and the mage cries out in pain as some of those shots break through her defense and slam into her Barrier Jacket, causing smoke to rise from the charred black impact zones.

The larget blast, however, gets a snarl back. "I can do that too! MAELSTROM BUSTER!" Zephyr levels her Device, power gathering into the gemstone as the two Bits move into formation around the head, beginning to spin around it. <MAELSTROM BUSTER.> concurs the Device's AI, as the power unleashes, concentrated by the lasers fired from the Bits into a tighter beam than the wash of raw mana it would have been.

Beam clashes against beam, Zephyr holding the destructive wave back. "Hey! Get around behind it while I keep it distracted!" she shouts at Alden, while a pair of green 'wings' seem to manifest/unfold from her back, stabilizing her position a bit as she struggles against the Aragami's attack.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Kirika is just lucky today then. The Kongou responds quickly to not feeling foxgirl bones snap under its arms, vaulting upright again with another spittle flecked roar, and pouncing on her almost like a tiger more than something pretending to be a monkey. Its pipes swell, shudder and shriek, and then she exchanges one bolt of lightning for one blast of air pressure, caught flat in the blast zone, but scoring a direct hit with a more dangerous attack herself. The Aragami jerks back upwards into the air as the electricity surges through it, its patches of metallic skin blistering and popping as writhing arcs of lightning jump in and out of it, and then crashes back down to Earth again, writhing and twitching in total incapacitation.

Its twin joins it swiftly. Having felt itself broken open for the first time by Setsuko, it seems perfectly content to stay out of her range and blast at her until the moon comes up, confident in simply outlasting her if that's what becomes necessary. It turns to follow her as she jumps, tracking her remarkably well for something that looks like its vision should be a joke, charging all four of its pipes at once for a legitimately well planned shotgun blast once she gets close enough, only for her trajectory to curve outside of its prediction and leave her right next to it.

After that, there isn't much left it can do without arms. The searing barrage of slashes hammer against its frame, causing it to ripple and shudder as if caught in Hollywood machinegun fire. There's likely no overdoing it here, as the Kongou remains on its feet the entire time Setsuko rips it to pieces, even managing to step once, then twice under the assault, but soon enough, its level of regeneration just can't keep up, and the thoroughly eviscerated creature collapses in a fountain of maroon gore next to its compatriot.
Kyra Hyral     Kyra's not moving in at all! She's staying in her spot, happily not drawing atteention to herself, taking aim with the rifle once more, ready to pick off anything that seems to be near death. Her target will still be the Gboro Gboro but she'll wait a few seconds before unloading a trio of her EMP-like darts into the creature, preferably before it regains its senses and sets itself upon Rebecca again.

"Gettin' a little up close for a medic, aren't you?" Kyra calls out to Rebecca, a little concerned.
Alden      Alden is thankfully on the hardier side, jumping aside as he tries to dodge away teh smaller blasts, grunting a bit from the effect of the previous attack. He wastes no time taking to the air, the small wings on his back unfolding (and still looking very small), before he runs and jumps, taking to teh air, and moving as quickly as he can, trying to remain out of view while the beams clash.

Once he gets behind the distracted thing, he decides to launch his own barrage of attacks, starting with his own beam blast!. He gathers most of his energy in his muzzle, a bright blue glow forming on it, before he opens it. "Metal Blaster!" A broad blue and white beam (the width being about his pwn height) launching to hit the monster from behind!. The attack is a freezing beam, and a rather strong one. He shifts his mouth, dragging the area of the beam accross the back of the creature, flash freezing the torso. As soon as the beam ends, he launches his final attack. His chest opens, and a rather sizable rocket shoots towards the frozen body, "Giga missile!". Nothing fancy about this one, just a big, explodey kind of attack, trying to shatter what is left of the wounded body.

And that's when the digimon runs out of energy, his form bursting into voxels, like before, revealing the gabumon from before, who quickly dives into cover.
Kirika     Kirika is pounced, and it's like getting attacked by a bear in close quarters as Kirika struggles against the weight. She roars with effort while trying to push the Kongou off of her, but only when she lands a lightning bolt on it does she have any luck.

She shoves the Kongou off, feeling more than a bit singed as she notices her hair is sticking on end. Sighing, Kirika sheathes her sword before rummaging in her bag. She produces a healing gel container from Lloyd, downing it to speed along her recovery while she begins to jog her way towards the Gboro, sword back in hand.
Setsuko Kaminagi     At last it falls, Setsuko halting with her blade extended for a moment at the end of her attack. She holds herself ready, watching the corpse warily for any signs of revival, but when it doesn't seem to be getting up (and her divine senses don't warn her of any imminent attack), she relaxes slightly, sweeping her blade to one side. What little of the blood remains on her blade is easily flicked off, leaving the weapon clean when she returns it to its sheath. Sanary gets a quick look of concern, but the cleric seems to be alright aside from the effort of swinging that axe around. The others are in mop-up, with Kirika and now Sanary both moving to support Yuna and Chambers... that's that, then. These are handled, unless something goes bad.

For the time being, Setsuko turns for a different direction, dashing off to help Kutsuuko with the small fry.
Sanary Rondel      Drawing her axe out of the Kongou as it finally stops moving, Sanary brings up her Charge Blade to give it one last chop just in case before reverting the weapon to its separate sword and shield form. "Hah... Alright. That's one down!" She comments with a satisfied smirk, only looking a little out of breath as she scans the area. Two Aragami down, the other two looking like they're being handled well enough...

Time to get back to healing again. "Good work, Setsuko. Time for some clean up." She flashes the demigod a brief grin before breaking into a steady jog towards where Yuna had been taken by Jiina. That familiar green light cloud is already coming out of as she gets closer, opting to just wash that healing magic over the idol completely instead of trying to figure out where the explosion actually hit her.

Well, it /was/ an explosion. It's easier this way.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Why a faceless biohorror has adopted martial arts and ki manipulation is a valid question, but it an academic one rather than a practical one, because it appears to work very, very well. The hail of ki bolts chasing Zephyr and Alden is relentless, buzzing and swerving like a swarm of ravenous fireflies, coming on on them at every angle without error. The only real breather is between the last of the chain and what is obviously meant to be the finishing blow, but it is very well just enough for the two to retaliate.

The blistering glow of midday gold ki crashes against the violet torrent of Zephyr's Maelstrom Buster, casting the surrounding area in to deep shadows and stark white light, blowing sand, dust and debris left and right through the slipstream that forms between them. The two attacks actually hold in stalemate for a moment, giving the impressive of a single, continuous explosion, before the Chi-You's dwindles out and fades first, leaving the remainder of Zephyr's beam to slip through and puncture straight through both of its wings, aligned over one another as they are.

Holes in both wings makes it more difficult than is feasible to get out of the way of Alden's followup surprise attack. The Aragami wheels on him at the worst 'Metal Blaster!', but its evasive flapping carries it off the ground too slow with the damage to its flight organs, leaving it too close to the icy beam that impacts at its feet, immediately anchoring them to solid earth. One, then two ki blasts zip upwards at him in the time it takes him to practically freeze the thing solid, but that's the last either of them see of it before the giga missile hits, and the immobilized Aragami explodes into hundreds of individual fragments, issuing thick, caustic black smoke where they fall.
Kutsuuko Shiratori     Rebecca is playing a very risky game. Running around on foot without external aid, the Gboro Gboro is much more easily to get close enough to use the one thing that will most definitely be immediately fatal to her; its truck sized jaws. As long as Yuna still maintains that hovering posture though, and Kyra maintains a safe and intelligent distance, that does make her the best candidate to attracting its attention.

The Gboro has only just begun dragging itself out of the blast zone, inky black smog billowing from its dismembered rear half as it starts to regenerate, when Rebecca opens up on her again, and reminds it that it still has another enemy to deal with if it doesn't want to be steadily shot to death. Once again, it turns to chase her, clearly the least intelligent of the cluster, even if it is the largest and meanest, fixing on her with only one, dull, glassy eye after one of her bullets manages to put out the other, and then is subsequently stopped in its tracks a second time before it manages to pick up any real speed, this time by the timely intervention of one of the group medics.

Being either full of water, or controlling water, or maybe just due to being amphibious, the Gboro lights up as Kyra sticks it with those darts, flashing like a bath tub with the unwelcome addition of a brand new toaster, the punished and tortured Aragami keeling over once again, and yet still refusing to give up that last inch and die, hellbent on fighting as long as its core is intact.

It remains heaving and sizzling in place for several more moments as Rebecca clears range and Yuna catches her breath, and then a blur of red, amber, fuchsia and gold streaks across its face almost too fast to see. Its odd, seemingly man-made crown shatters instantly, the horn that serves as its weapon spinning end over end through the air before thunking point down in the asphalt a short distance away. In the resulting fountain of blood, the fiery glow that had made impact resolves as the light of Scarlet Symphony in Kutsuuko's hands, extended as its sword configuration; a six foot long, single edged blade reminiscent of a katana made for a titan, still halfway through being forged.

Before anyone can ask why it passed through the Aragami's flesh so easily, and why it isn't regenerating, she wheels on the Gboro and her God Arc rapidly unfolds, radiant casing falling away to expose the roiling, inky blackness inside, which then explodes forth with an ear-shattering roar. The dark biomass surges forward in the shape of a pair of jaws even larger than the Aragami's, plunging straight into its open mouth and down its throat, breaking its jawbone in the process, and then chomping down on all of its internal organs at once. The Gboro Gboro shudders like a puppet on cut strings, an orchestra of nauseating ripping, cracking and tearing sounds accompanying unbelievable quantities of blood, and then the God Arc retracts from its insides, a glassy sphere clutched inside its 'mouth' briefly visible for the barest of instants.

"I'm legitimately impressed." says the God Eater. "All four targets down, no casualties. Looks like no hospitalizations either. Under thirty minutes too. If you were in the corps you'd be getting promoted to Rank Four." Shiro calls from up above as she finally descends like a peppy little snowflake. "That core was a rare one!"
Yuna Kagurazaka It's only as the Gboro Gboro is finally killed that Yuna regains her mobility, fighting her way out of what was left from the implosion's effects. Sanary's cloud of healing magic surrounds her at roughly the same moment, and the armored blonde raises an arm (empty of weaponry at the moment) to wave in thanks to the battle healer.

She saw a little more than she wanted to of her target's demise ... but in a way, it's just as well she *did* see Kutsuuko claiming the core. It's not exactly a comforting sight, mind you - seeing a God Arc in 'devour' mode is kind of disturbing - but it's also the appropriate way for an Aragami to be finished off. "Feels like I still could've done better," Yuna admits, "but we had a good team coming together for this, even if it was kind of an improvised one ..."

She smiles wryly, and gives a thumbs-up to the rest of her allies as well.
Sanary Rondel      "Did you have any doubts?" Sanary smirks as she glances over at Kutsuuko for a moment, although her attention is still mostly on Yuna to make sure she's actually stabilized first. Sure, the idol might be a dirty Union member, but even a healer has standards! Professional standards.

Once the healing work is taken care of, though, the cleric turns her attention to other matters. Of course, she just so happens to look over at the God Arc as it goes to town on the Gboro's core, a blank stare crossing the healer's face. She opens her mouth, then shuts it, then opens it again before just nodding slowly.

She needs to get one of those for herself one day. Hearing Shiro from above, Sanary chuckles and nods in her direction before turning back to Kutsuuko, trying to put the image of the God Arc out of mind for the time being. There's still one important thing to take care of today, after all, and no amount of monster-eating weapons will stop her!

"So I heard you were looking to buy some pigs...?"
