Marrik The Maw: a theoretically bottomless pit that had any number of cities carved into its ledges and crevasses.

This is where one market catering to trolls, goblins, fae, and any number of other 'fair folk' had gotten dumped at some unspecified time ago. Mostly because nobody bothered keeping track anymore. The Goblin King ruled here, always had and will. That is all the locals needed to know, for his whim was law.

So what if a few here and there every so often started selling machinery of one sort or another instead of potions, magical devices.... or the like. What of it a necromancer made his home and shop here? Just one more face in an everchanging sea of faces. One that, at this moment, was out looking for breakfast, hoping the vendor he'd been making a habit of visiting was still there.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa was exploring sure, she'd been smart enough to hide a cold iron knife on her person incase she did run into trouble with fair folk. Still she had no intent to work here. So here she is, well actually she ws here having met with a client a goblin who was hell bent on getting a motorcycle which she was all too happy to enable. She was finished with that and just starting to check out the stalls, maybe find something to eat before she went on her way.
Marrik A few places, other than the clients, looked like halfway reasonable immitations of different franchises. By reasonable this meant ornate carvings everywhere, tourists advised to not ask what was in the food, and at least twelve kinds of currency being used.

Marrik looked over as Kotone walked by and-

An arm? fine, leg? sure accidents happen but... what was holding her spirit to that jumble?
fHe swallowed and lost his place in line to go jogging after. There was no attempt at subtle here. "Excuse me miss?" Redheaded guy with mismatched eyes in a rumpled brown coat running Kotone's way. He looked reasonably clean, but what could he want?
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is little more than a brain, tongue and a few other bits to be perfectly honest when all is said and done. She pauses for a moment as she gets looked over. She looks at the man for a moment. She halts she turns to look at Marrik with quetioning look on her face.

"Yes can I help you?"
Marrik Marrik stpped short and... well to be blunt he stared. Sure he saw the body for what it was, but no matter how good looking it didnt have his attention. "Ah... I'm sorry miss, I'm sure you get this a lot but-" Swallow as he realized he couldnt back off now no matter how strange or rude the question was, "How are you even alive?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa pauses and gets a very dour look on her face as she looks right at Marrik her eyes focusing right in on him. She stares blining at him for a moment.

"Do you have any idea how damn rude that is even to ask?! Second how the hell did you even know?!"
Marrik "I am sorry miss but," Marrik shifted uncomfortably under Kotone's stare, "we don't get that many cyborgs out here. Worst I've seen is an arm or a leg not.... Everything." He sighed, trying to find a way to salvage this. His emtire body language was nervousness. Nevermind how in shape he was or that if he wanted he could fling her across the street with a wave of his hand. "And I see dead people miss. Dead, disembodied, and those that are bound to objects. Your body..." He frowned as he tried to find a way to explain even though he knew he was digging deeper, "On a mundane level it looks like a perfict replica. On the metaphysical... I see you mimiking it's movememts, but its not like a normal person its.... who did this to you? Why?" Personally it looked like an elaborate punishment to him.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks at Marrik for a long moment she listnes to him it sounds like magic, lovely magic. It was something more alien to her than her current body was. She looks at her for a moment. "I never died my brain never flat line this was done for medical resons proethic bodies are common place on my world." She does not seem too happy with him at all here, not too happy /at/ all.
Marrik "I'm sorry for troubling you then." Marrik sounded flat out mortified. "Just as a word of advice here. "Cold iron is your friend in a pinch, and haggling is an art. Everything is overpriced because they expect youto bargain down."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Am I that much of an abonbation to you that I chose life like this over death?" She looks right at him and seems to be pretty inent to not left him off the hook. She says nothing on the cold iron, that much of the old tales on her world seemed to be proven true she's more annoyed with Marrik than anything else.
Marrik "Its...." Marrik sighed. "Last person I saw like that pissed off a coven of necromancers. Sorry it just caught me off guard." A barbie sized woman with dragonfly wings landed on Marrik's shoulder and punched him in the ear.

"Owe dangit wha was that for?" Marrik cringed but seemed to make no move to get rid of the fae.

The pixie grumbled sourly, "Forvyou acting like a moron." She looked over to Kotone and smiled, "Hello there, don't mind him he's just a country idiot. Left his manners back on the farm." She wore motercycle leathers rather than 'traditional' tights or even discarded repurposed debris. These seemed made explicitly for her. "I'm sparks, he's marrik. Folk asking questions is gonna be normal since you're from out of town, but anyone tries putting a hand on you, drop them." There was a seious tone to that last bit of advice, "Nice as it can be here, lot of things here like to pick on humans."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa looks at the pixie for a moment she notices she was wearing leathers rather than something else. She nods for a moment and she looks to sparks. "I came here to talk to a client about a job possibly. That's the plan, I get enough creepy stalkers from the ... doll fans back home."
Marrik Marrik blinkee. Sparks looked sick. Then when it dawned on Marrik he turned a shade of green. "Ew... No offence. you look great but... but... If thats what I think then" He shudered. "I'd rather get to know a person thianks."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Yes there are those obessed with prosethic bodies. It ... get creepy and I'd rather not go into detail on it. So you think I'm that messed up it's funny this technoly lead to us discovring the ghost for lack of a better temr if you like soul. That part that can't be replicated."
Marrik Marrik merely shrugged, not commenti on this 'ghost' business since he sees them all the time. "Marrik Broom," He offered a calloused hand. "I sell minir magical curiosities, supplies, and the odd book or two." He gestured down a windy patch of lane with a twiglike creature closing down their shop for lunch, "I'm right next to this lizard woman that deals with shaman totams. "I've got a few primers and genersl material for dealing with magic that might help."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "I'm not much for magic but I admit the primers might be good but there's as many schools of magic as there are technology out there. Also as for the cold iron I came ready for that, that is common weakness from what I was able to look up."
Marrik "Admittedly the multiverse makes everything strange, but I want to try helping give people who don't know magic an idea of what they're dealing with." Marrik offered Kotone a hand. "People tend to be less afraid when they have a framework to put it in. The less afraid folk are the more they're able to deal with it." He looked on as a lank creature with barklike skin closed its shop. "I'm on yonderway, next to a lizard that sells shamen foci and fetishes." He shrugged at the apparent wierdness of this. "Could be worse I guess."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Says "I see that can be strange I guess. You make a good amount of sense there. I'm not wigged out by alien races anymore. I just happen to be more of the mind I like it when there's a stable reality is the best way to put it. Either wya so I'd like to see those bookx you mentioned."
Marrik "Reasonable rates. I try to ditch the haggling from more urban locals." As he walked Sparks flew off to join a small flock of pixies overhead. "Magic always has a price and has rules on how it works. Kindof like how newton and Einstein figured out the more mundane laws of nature. The more you learn the better grasp you have."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "The Einstein's cage seems to be incorrect." She'll get the price from Marrik hand him the money and seem to be ready to go on her way from the looks of her.
