Guest Psyber     In his ongoing attempts to teach Duet the upsides of a more low key and non-nefarious lifestyle, and coinciding with the changing of the seasons, Psyber has elected to try a new activity with the blonde-haired girl. Thus, he has asked her to meet him at the harbor! And he didn't tell her why.

Probably because he thought if she found out why, she'd chicken out. See, when she arrives at the harbor, she will find that Psyber has rented what can be described as a 'comfortable' sized boat, some fishing rods, and a pair of supplies. He's also got a baseball cap on.

"Heeeeeeeey! It's bluefin tuna season! I finally got my permit approved!"
Duet Fortuna     "Bluefin..." Duet stares for a long moment, then rubs at her head. "Fishing? I can't say that's something I've ever done," she admits. It's an uncertain admission, but she seems willing to climb on the boat at least. She's wearing casual clothes as well, with her hair up in a ponytail and wearing shorts. She actually looks like a young girl again. Well, young as in in her prime.

"Well... if you expect me to squeal and go ick as we bait the hooks, I'll have to disappoint you there, at least," she teases, settling down on a seat. "Thanks."
Guest Psyber     "I actually more expect you to enact some cunning plan which tricks the Tuna into jumping onto the boat and sets a new Boston Fishing Record," Psyber remarks as he holds out a hand to help her onto the boat. It's not too long of a trip and it's pretty smooth water.

Psyber takes them a couple miles out into the deeper water way out of the site of the shore. Psyber stretches and grabs a pole, "Usually, you do this with a brace on the boat because of the size of deep sea fish. But I figure both of us could manage without. There's still one over ther eif you need it," He points towards a seat clearly meant for trying to get HUGE things like swordfish.

"How've you been settling in? Survived your first North Eastern Winter?"
Duet Fortuna     "I see," Duet says with a faint smile. "Sadly for you, fish psychology was never my strength. We'll have to do this the hard way." She gets all settled in, but is watching how the boat is handled, more out of curiosity than antyhing else.

"My first winter... it was quiet. I actually just ignored most things and took it easy. It was nice. I've had my life going at such a frantic pace for so long, I didn't really get to do that before. Cold though." She laughs, "But then I expect you guessed that."
Guest Psyber     "Cold I knew, yes. I've lived in Boston a very long time," He laughs a bit. The boat is handled pretty easily, eventually coming to a stop and Psyber letting an anchor drop. He comes off the steering wheel and then back towards the rear of the boat.

"Not gonna lie, it's been nice to have the crises die down for a bit and get to unwind again. That was a really long year for me, but..." He slips some bait onto the hook of one of the poles uneventfully. Then he flicks it out to sea, letting the lure sink into the water, "I think, looking at what's come of it, it was worth the stress."
Duet Fortuna     "Worth it? For me, definitely," Duet says quietly. "I've heard that vengeance can drive one to... insanity. I suppose I got some of that, but there's always more to be angry at, more to blame..." She sighs, peering into the water, and then pulls a floppy hat out to shield her eyes from the sun.

"Letting go after all that was the best thing I ever did," she continues. "Not that I've forgotten about my world... but I think it will hang on well enough without me that I can take my time. I suppose that's what you wanted, too."
Guest Psyber     "I dunno," Psyber muses as he reels in the line and then flicks the rod to cast it out again, "About what I wanted, I mean. I wanted you to have a chance to be you, and that's what you're getting now. I'm really happy to get to be a part of that," Psyber admits, musing the situation over.

"Having you here, having the office as mellowed out as it is. I haven't felt like my life was this on track and balanced since before Annu," Psyber admits to her, looking back over his shoulder towards her, "And... for your world... I'll keep helping it however I can. Doing whatever you or it needs me to. But right now it seems to be rebuilding and that's a pretty good thing. I still get the feeling there's something left undone, though."
Duet Fortuna     Duet bobs her own line, then reels it in because... she's pretty sure she messed up her first cast. At least she succeeded! "This is harder than it looks," the girl comments. "And... I know. But we started something, all of us. Started things."

She sighs. "I... WE can't solve everything. Helping, guiding, all that... it's good. But if my world doesn't want to change, if in spite of all this... well, I can't do everything."
Guest Psyber     "You'll pick it up the longer you live around here. Fishing is something I used to do a lot when I travelled in the wilderness more," He admits, flicking the rod again and slowly pulling it back, "We did start things. And you're right, we can't solve everything. Can't fix all problems."

"I think that, for right now, I'm just content that we're here right now," He admits, laughing slightly, "If you'd told me you'd be living at the tower, that we'd be able to come out here and do this because the office wasn't actively burning down at the time with in-fighting and politics, I wouldn't believe it. But... here we are. And I wouldn't trade what got us here for anything, Ell."

"If we could fix all that, it gives me some hope your world may be alright. The Princess and her supporters also seem very competant."
Duet Fortuna     Sigh. Duet glances about, then tugs off her mask for once, blinking and shaking her head. If there were EVER any doubt as to who she really was, the scar makes it obvious. "Yes... I think they'll be fine for now," she says. A tug on the line.

"There's still plenty to do," she admits. "We'll come to that later. I was thinking about getting a sword forged and everything. Something more... appropriate to the new me. Time will tell, I suppose. For now, let's see if we can't bring home dinner."
Guest Psyber     Psyber seems to smile all the wider as the mask is pulled off and her face is revealed. It had been a while since Psyber had actually seen her without it, so it's a welcome sight for him when he looks over his shoulder, "Hm. A new sword. Perhaps instead of forging, you should quest."

"Seems like what heroes seeking redemption do in this day and age," And then he stretches a bit, popping his back, "Sure. I still bet you catch a bigger fish than me. Somehow." He teases, "I DO expect you to squeal in a grossout when we have to gut and clean, by the way."
