Count Kord     A column of smoke rises into the air. In the distance, a farmhouse explodes in a blast of lightning from the inside, revealing the shattered remains of a strange Electorb golem. And a group of twenty or so men and women in eerie featureless stone masks with strange braille-like holes in them walk down the dirt road. They're all dressed in grey robes or other such clothing. Walking behind them... there must be a couple hundred shuddering, click-clacking, whirring living constructs of wood, stone, crystal and metal. They come in the shape of a variety of Pokemon, such as a Charizard with steel plating and a belly that seems to be built like a boiler, and an Ariados that moves through the strategic pull of strings from the center of its form. They move as if possessed, creating a horrific not-quite-alive air about them.

At the front of the group is a man that is about seven feet tall, with a mask made of smoky crystal. One of the eye sockets glows a faint white color. His robes have the sleeves torn off, revealing a pair of large arms that have cracks and dryness to them that suggests he is made of clay or some other earthen substance. He has an iron staff in his left hand with a quartz crystal ball. More of that unnatural light shines from the crystal ball, washing the area around him in a strange muted contrast. It's as if it's smothering all in his vicinity.

They leave destruction and burning crops in their wake. They intend to raze everything they come across, having no desire to capture this land for themselves. They are here to destroy everything Kord holds dear.

Kord is not yet here. When he saw the smoke, he sent out word to those parties in the Multiverse that protect the innocent, as well as mercenaries that would enjoy a good fight with insane zealots. Kord busies himself with fortifying the main town a mile or two off from where the war party is at, gathering up militiamen to hold his lands against these people, doing his best as a leader to clear villagers out from the battlefield the area around the Sentinels will turn into. Whether these people arrive by warp gate (which is located at the broken wall at the edge of Dragoni, not too far from the war party) or they were already visiting when it started happening, it would be easy to find the cultists.
Alden A call for help!, from a person he knows!. That's more than enough to get the digimon to rush over through the nearest warp gate!. He arrives as a gabumon, no point freaking anyone around, and it saves energy for later!. He does wait by the gate, looking around for directions or at least to point him towards the 'bad' guys!. He is not alone this time, a small humanoid girl with cat ears, and a kitty tail seems to be perched on his head, holding his D-Arc. "Wow, this is a neat place, it's like going to the past!" she comments.
Lin One of those mentioned mercenaries comes bursting through the warp gate at hyperspeed. Well. Hyper's an exaggeration, but there's no mistaking the blur of red, white, blue and green that comes tearing from the warp gate. She pauses only for a few moments to figure out where the smoke's coming from... then leans forward and WHOOOOSH, she's sprinting off like a rocket with her body bowed low to minimize air resistance - among other manueverability advantages.

"So much smoke... how many of them are there?!" With lightning speed steps she cuts across the distance, slowing only as she makes her way towards the head of the marching forces. Not a single second's wasted - throughout the approach her gaze flicks back and forth from one creature to the next, and each freakish sight fills her with increased dismay and fury.

Finally she comes to a halt within a minute's march of the advancing war party, a hand on her sword, hair and clothes fluttering gently in the ominous winds of war... and a ferocious look on her face.

    'This ends here.'
Sigrun Stem Mercenaries and protectors of the innocent. Sigrun is, in a sense, both. Thus having received this call, she's come by. Her chariot is parked and disabled a little ways off, and since then she's used subtle spells to guide her path away from prying eyes. There's a firm desire to avoid being seen for now, and she's got the skills and spells to make that a lot easier. Her bow is drawn, and a trio of red circles in front of her right eye allow her to magnify her vision. She's watching the village, and their assailants, from nearly a mile away.
Fiera Kitsun Word didn't have to travel very far to reach Fiera Kitsun; she'd finished up another training journey in her home version of the Pokemon Islands, rotated some of her working team, and headed for the Bayern region to see what she could learn about the local version of Pokemon cosmology. Her miko robes are packed away back home in Viridian City; while she doesn't mind wearing them, they're bulky to carry and not really practical - plus she doesn't want to confuse any of the locals. She *does* have the pendant her grand-aunt gave her, with the name of Kyoutou Jinja etched into the back. She also has her elementite sword, because a good blade is always useful whether in a fight or for less combative, more practical purposes.

And she has a good team of strong Pokemon with her. Arashi, her Fearow, carries Fiera as the two of them descend towards the city Kord directed responders to; the sight of the 'Toy Pokemon' - even from the distance of the sky - is far from pleasant to the red-haired Trainer, but the fact that they feel so empty, even from her present (albeit dwindling) distance, is half of a relief. The other half ...

Well, she supposes, better than running up against Shadow Pokemon.

Fiera's thoughts brush closer against those of her Fearow, and Arashi tilts into more of a power-dive, pulling out of it and catching the air in her wings to shed the gained speed. Fiera lets go with her feet about two meters above the ground; it's an easy drop to land safely from with her training, and she comes back to a standing position, nodding a greeting to Alden and his catgirl(?) companion. "I suppose we should start by trying to do something about those fires, shouldn't we?" Her right hand goes to the Pokeballs at her belt, picking and expanding one as Arashi pulls towards the sky again.

"Taki, we need whatever rain you can provide!"

The Pokeball is tossed almost straight up; it splits open, and a streak of light emerges to coalesce into the form of a Gyarados taking to the air, almost outstripping the Fearow before their paths diverge. Taki lets out a roar that would put the fear of Articuno into most normal humans (although not quite the full-throated bellow that would send *Pokemon* running), and whips its tail through the air as it ripples higher into the sky ...

And Taki's Aqua Tail technique starts scattering water across the fields below. It's not intense enough to do any real damage to the Toy Pokemon, and may not even put much of a dent in the fires, but it's something while Fiera sizes up the army, balancing her own vision against what Arashi and Taki can show her from the air.
Ela'Ashbel Ela'Ashbel had heard the call for aid, and she is one to assist. The enemies in question were intriguing, and apparently they approached in number, so she did not arrive alone. Marching from the warpgate alongside the Farseer were a handful of elite Warlocks as her bodyguard. "Hmm... lets see if we can help these people." So, she makes her way towards the battlefields.
Athela Valemore Pokemon come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Many of them, despite their odd, animalistic or even mythical appearances are used as beasts of labor, or even fanciful means of transportation.

... That said, it's still a bit strange this far inland to see something like a giant sealion come blasting through, the glow of burning fields reflecting off it's armor. Until the surge of water the beast of war is hydroplaning upon douses the flames in it's wake, bellowing a warcry roar of it's as it glides to a stop, leaving sizzling steam in its wake.

No, we were not kidding about the fantasy mounts remark, because it is upon the knightly Samurott's back that the armored young woman stands, a Goomy sitting upon her shoulder. Even as Samurott roars she reachs to her side and draws her weapon, holding the Resolute Blade pointedly towards the raising army. "That is quite far enough. The Count may not be the best of men, but that is no excuse to pillage and destroy the lands of his people! Take your abominations away from here, or be struck down for your transgression!" Even as she speaks a Timburr and Eevee come running to stand at the sides of her and her strange mount, the former making a few threatening warm-up motions with his massive board.

The people having kept up on Union reports would at least reconize Athela Valemore, a knight from this world.
Count Kord     The war party stops, the responders distracting the group of cultists. The Toy Pokemon horde scatters among the burning crops, vanishing among the smoke and fire fearlessly. It appears a handful of the cultists are using staves of their own, which are used to guide 'squads' of Toy Pokemon around. The ones that aren't controlling the Toy Pokemon directly are drawing swords and bows in preparation of a fight, and almost all of them are turning to focus on the lone woman that blocks their path.

They stop when their apparent leader raises his right hand with two fingers held out to catch their attention. Then he points up at the Gyarados up in the sky as it tries to put out the flames. The efforts of Athela similarly help to douse the crops, though, and her bark of anger over the noise makes the group hesitate for a second. The strange sealion beast gets focused on at first by the leader, but it's the armored woman that causes the most pause in the tallest cultist.

"You and your beasts are the abominations, forgotten Sword," the Hollowed Leader tells Athela, "Begone from my sight, and take your foreigners with you."

He grabs the staff with his other hand, and the light grows in power. Then he takes a struggling baseball swing which emits a BLAST of cold air down the way, aiming for Karal and blasting outward in a huge shockwave! It has the chance to freeze someone solid, and the shards of ice that explode outward are dangerous for anyone without cover. The squad of cultists, meanwhile...

Bolts of lighting flash up from the smoke and ash, aimed toward the Gyarados up in the sky! It seems all the electrically-inclined Toy Pokemon are firing magical lightning up at the Water/Flying serpent up there, trying to blast him out of the sky. The cultist responsible for that specific blast of lightning glows a faint gold-yellow color when that happens. In fact, each of the cultists controlling Toy Pokemon has a different elemental glow to their staff! Another group of Toy Pokemon launch razor-sharp leaf-like objects toward Athela and her mount, taking full advantage of how hard it is to see them in all of the smoldering plants.
Fiera Kitsun If it were one or two blasts of lightning, Taki could probably dodge or - at worst - try and endure the strikes. But with multiple lightning attacks converging from a variety of directions, even the best-trained Gyarados would be overwhelmed - and for all Fiera's love and discipline, she hasn't put enough time in working with Taki to hone the Gyarados's reflexes or agility nearly that well. With a bellow of both agonized fury, Taki is knocked out, the dragon-esque Water/Flying-type plummeting out of the sky -

And with a simultaneous cry of sympathetic pain, Fiera staggers, her eyes flying open as she collapses to the ground. There's an unfocused (and slightly manic) look in her eyes as she gropes for a now-empty Pokeball and recalls her Gyarados, gasping for breath and struggling to collect herself; Arashi alights next to her, the Fearow lurking protectively over her Trainer.
Sigrun Stem The sharpshooter nocks an arrow as events start to unfold, noticing the ones with the staves appear to be in charge of the automatons, and thus takes aim on one of those. Winds wrap themselves around her arrow as she takes careful aim, calculating for the wind and distance.

She lets go right after the leader unleashes that shockwave. Assuming that it would help obscure the sound of a second shockwave, because half a mile away from her target, her speeding arrow goes supersonic, and by the time its supposed to impact, it goes twice that.
Alden Alden talks to the people on the channel a bit more, gathering more intel, and learning that most of the opponents were... constructs and nothing alive, seems to make the digimon smile. "Katze, like we practiced, metal wolf." he tells to the Shinki, who jumps from the small Gabumon, and moves to safe spot. She fiddles with the D-Arc and sends some info, making it glow.

At the same time, the digimon begins to glow brightly, "Digi modify!, Warp digivolve!". Moments after he says those words, he 'explodes' into voxels, revealing a far larger, armored/robotic quadruped wolf of sorts. "Let's stop them before they do more damage." he barks. He takes a running start, jumps, and the 'wings' on his back lock into position, sending him to the air!. Katze remains behind,s eeing what Alden does via a screen!. He focuses on the advancing flames, at least the closest to him. "Grace cross freezer!" he exclaims.

Suddenly, all over the wolf, small compartments open, and a swarm of blue tipped missiles (with angry faces on them) are sent flying to the area in front of the fire. When they explode, freezing the area of the blast, encasing most of it in ice, basically, trying to cut the path of the flames.
Lin Lin swears under her breath the moment she sees the guy readying for a swing with a glowing staff. She's never seen the like, but it's easy enough to deduce that he's got a distance attack in mind. Her heightened combat awareness is to thank for such speedy deductions. Without yet losing her cool she moves her hand away from the sword and grabs the air, pulling upward on... a blazing glow of golden light?

She's PULLING SOMETHING FROM THE AIR. An enormous hunk of rock, whitish and brown and craggly, rough-hewn indeed. The business end of this weapon's so wide that getting her arms around it would be quite tough, and it's hard to believe that it tapers down to a carved grip and nasty-looking pommel.

The thing's so HEAVY that its business end slams into the dirt road and craters down hard several feet with a WHAM. Lin kicks the grip upwards and HUNKERS BEHIND THE MASSIVE WEAPON moments before the ice wave reaches her.

The Grand Goremaul, Old Stone Tooth, stands in the ice wave's way. Arctic winds part around it and ice builds up on its exposed front. Behind her cover KAral Rei Lin winces. The supernaturally frigid air chills her to the bone and frosts over some of her skin rather painfully, but it's far, FAR less bad than a direct hit would've been.

Steeling her spirit and ignoring the pain for now, she plants a foot on her weapon's embedded bottom and SPRINTS UP IT, using it like a ramp to spring off of. She's quickly sailing across the distance towards her assailant... and in case he gets any ideas about shooting her down before she can land?

Well. Lin's not even giving him the CHANCE, because as she reaches the pinnacle of her leap's arc she starts flinging knives down at him. Her intent is clear: Keep him too busy to do anything, then close in and use her sword after she lands!
Athela Valemore 'Forgotten Sword' is plenty accurate, even Athela cannot really deny that. Just go with it. "Forgotten but not gone, contrary to what some may wish," she retorts back, not wavering from her stance. Although a sympathetic mental wince of pain as the Gyarados is blasted from the sky. "If it takes foreigners to save the world we have sworn to protect, than so be it!"

And then the real fighting starts, as abominations start flinging grass-like projectiles from within the smoldering fields. "Scatter their forces!" Athela commands, even as she jumps off her mount's back. There's a surge of water and the Samurott lunges away like a watery comet as he launchs towards one of the fire spewing constructs with Aqua Jet. The sudden speed of the move also conveniently gets him clear of the slower razor-blade leaf attacks. Athela hits the ground where he was, taking several of the projectiles zinging across her armor instead, but unlike her pokemon she's not exposed to specific weakness. But as much as she wants to smack the leader upside the head, she turns to sprint in the direction where Feira and her Gyarados collapsed, Eevee on her heels. Allies down on the field is not allowed to be left alone.

Timburr uses his board to deflect some of the attacks, while others dig into the vines wrapped around his body in place of those bulgy veins normal Timburrs have, his secondary type and general toughness soaking the hits. A few steps towards one of the attacking groups and he swings around the board to slam it into the ground, sending a seismic wave rolling through the field towards the projectile slingers. Not the strongest attack against Grass fighters, but it's the best area coverage move he has.
Count Kord     Through the noise and the battle, an arrow SLAMS into one of the cultists, knocking them clear off their feet. There's a sound like shattering pottery...! And then the cultist collapses, and the electrical staff in the cultist's hand snaps in half and releases a pulse of energy. And then all of the electrically-themed Toy Pokemon collapse at once and fall apart like they weren't properly fastened together in the first place. Without their magic to animate them, they're nothing but spare parts!

Alden's efforts are well-placed. The ice does a good job of cutting off the flames, and smothers the last vestiges of fire that fills the smoky battlefield. Of course, this also draws the attention of the Controller that has control of the Fire Toy Pokemon. The entire group of them get sent toward him at once, and they all burst into flames to try and stampede over Alden!! And it has the unfortunate side-effect of setting MORE of the fields on fire! Looks like the Fire Controller needs to be stopped before the fires can be properly doused.

Karal BLOCKS a blast of icy wind! The Hollowed Leader stands upright after his attack, impressed by her ability to weather the attack. He turns his gaze upward and raises his weapon in anticipation, but he gets halted before he can set off another ranged blast when she throws knives down at him! He blocks with his right arm, getting the knives embedded into his flesh with crystalline CRACK noises. Icy mist rises from his body where he got struck, and a glowing blue light runs from the wounds...

He prepares for a different attack. He releases the staff -- it floats in place, animated by a magic force to stay by his side -- and rears back to try and PUNCH Karal Rei Lin in the middle, using his significant weight and strength to try and crush her form!! He has a lot of brute force, a fact that can be felt before the attack would even land from how weighty his movements look. Thankfully, this makes him slower than smaller fighters, but not by enough that a warrior can get comfortable in melee range. Oddly, whether or not he gets a good impact, the sheer power of the magic-enhanced move unbalances him for a moment.

The Samurott becomes the focus of the Grass Toy Pokemon, with the majority of them firing upon it with endless grass-enchanted shrapnel that slice through the air and emit the rapid metallic clicking of the mechanisms inside the large constructs throwing their ammunition! A few of them are thrown aside by the Samurott's attack, but it doesn't properly stop all of them, instead putting it close enough that it's harder to dodge!

And the Water Controller turns and heads into the fields, and starts closing on Sigrun's location after that attack on the other Controller! The Toy Pokemon follow him, of course.
Sigrun Stem Fortunately, Sigrun is nearly a mile away, even at sixty miles an hour that will take them nearly a minute to close in. And thus, she takes aim again. She figures she has at least two more shots before she is in trouble, depending just how quickly they close in.

The effect of her previous shot make it clear to her the toys don't matter, it's the controllers and their staves. She lines up her next shot, now a little more hurried and against a target aware there's a sharpshooter in the area, and thus she switches up the magic on her arrow.

Her arrow flies swiftly, still speeding up after release, but this one stays just shy of supersonic. The wind guiding it is aware of who she wants to hit, and thus with gentle pushes corrects the arrow's course in case of trouble.
Alden The Metal Garurumon snarls as he sees the enemies moving to his direction. He lowers himself to the ground to face them!. He tries to figure out where the controller is, but he really has not enough time to search for it. He does try to lure the 'toys' so they move close to a line formation. As soon as he thinks they are close enough, he attacks them!. He realizes this might be only a momentary thing, but he just needs to find the person 'controlling' them!.

He lands, shifting his stance a bit, and building power in his metallic muzzle, "Metal Blaster!". A large (as large as him) bluish white beam emerges, and he sweeps across the toys. The beam is short lived, but flash freezes everything in it's path down to the core!. It also means he likely destroys a whole bunch of plants, but the beam does not travel that far beyond his target!. He waits just for an instant to see if freezing the toys is enough to at least stun them, before he takes to the air again, and searches for the fire controller.
Athela Valemore Grass-infused blades ding and clang as they pelt at the Samurott's armor. His type combination does give him some better resiliance than your average Water type, but the constant bombardments are starting to dig through his armor and get through the seams, aggrivating him. Fine, he gave you a chance to not bother. He turns and with a roar, heaves his entire body towards the Grass constructs! His bulk gives him some impressive weight to throw behind a Heavy Slam! Plus he gets some help as Timburr sprints into the fray, heaving his log like a club and using Chip Away to get through the golem's defenses.

Athela slows a bit as she catchs up to where Fiera dropped, holding a hand out non-threatening towards the Fearow. "Please, I have come to help." If allowed she'll get close to kneel down next to the girl. "Miss, are you alright? There is still much of these abominations to deal with." Her Eevee stands guard as well, like a tiny adorable dog doing its best to look intimidating and fierce. And... Wait, didn't she have a Goomy with her as well?

She did, and when she jumped off Samurott he jumped off her shoulder. But being a tiny pink blob in massive chaos that can squish and squash itself out to be even less noticable, it's easy to overlook as he's squiggling his way towards the cultist with the rod glowing green. The little slug-dragon slinks as close as he can before finally spewing at the man some of his green slime. "Gooo!" Which, due to it's clingy viscousity and slight toxidity has a slowing trap-like effect.
Fiera Kitsun Fiera isn't hard to find; if Athela was paying attention when the Gyarados's Trainer arrived, she'd probably remember the Fearow who was also present - and said Fearow is currently not just standing over Fiera's body, but trying to drag her off the road and behind the shelter of the city wall, or something. But it's just as the swordswoman reaches her that Fiera sucks in a breath, squeezes her eyes shut briefly, and then opens them again, looking much more coherent and clear-headed.

Also angry. Not raging, not furious, just a focused anger at whoever took Taki out like that. "I'm okay now, or close to it," she says to Athela - Fiera will gladly accept a hand getting back to her feet, if Athela offers it. "Let me get back out there with Foxfire -"

Another Pokemon takes shape next to her, a Ninetales with a glistening coat of pale gold fur, the nine tails of its name fanning out behind her haunches - a few wrapping briefly about Fiera's shoulders. "Ninetales nine nine," the fiery fox Pokemon states - comprehensible thanks to the Multiverse as, 'You catch your breath, Fiera; I'll take the fight to our foes.'

And with that, the Ninetales bolts into the fray, interweaving Mist and Agility techniques to cut down on the ease with which enemies can target her. If the Grass Controller happens to be a close and convenient target, Foxfire will help Goomy take the cultist down - fast and hard.
Lin Though blessed by the Unconquered Sun, Lin's still pretty new at fighting super-powered opponents! There's little time for her to respond and certainly little she can do to change her trajectory. "Crap...!" What a miscalculation. This is gonna hurt...

She didn't expect the knives to inflict so little damage, or him to be so proficient at melee. She's no time to even draw her blade with that fist rushing in for her. So she doesn't try.

Instead, Lin dedicates the split-second she has to kicking herself away. A tenth of a second's enough to change her momentum JUSt enough so that when that fist strikes she's already rolling with that punch!

WHUMPF!! Backwards she goes, rolling and tumbling over the dirt road. Her yells come in pained gasps. But she recovers after the sixth roll or so... SOMEHOW transitioning the uncontrolled roll into a handspring-backflip to her feet.

But even so, she spits out blood, and her posture's slightly tilted. That blow likely cracked ribs, possibly worse.

What it DIDN'T do is kill her as it probably would a normal person...

"You're skilled. No more going easy... I'll AIM TO KILL."

The declaration's accompanied by a show of golden light from her skin, a thin and filmy aura of white-gold energy that ripples like the skies around the sun. A sunburst mark shines from her forehead as she deepens her stance and bends her knees, one leg forward and a hand hovering near her sword... "Single Point Shining Into the Void Style..."

As obvious as her intent to strike is, there's practically NO TIME TO ACTUALLY REACT. In a godspeed blur of motion she carves across the distance and leaves a dust cloud in her wake. Her intent? To simple CLEAVE STRAIGHT THROUGH the crystal mystic from shoulder to opposite waist and skid on past!

    "Void-Slicing Wind!!"
Count Kord     Another arrow is fired, and this time it hits the Water Controller directly, and instantly shatters HIS chest, too, which creates a shower of mist and water and makes the Toy Pokemon collapse in heaps, falling apart mid-stride as the magic is instantly robbed from their bodies!! Sigrun has the right idea, really, because it's very difficult to fight someone that fights at such a distance.

Alden discovers that freezing the Fire Toy Pokemon has an odd effect... what happens when you supercool something that's superheated? Well.

The Fire Toy Pokemon all start exploding violently as the temperature difference creates Problems inside of their bodies, and Alden doesn't even have to find the Fire Controller when this starts happening. The magical feedback makes the staff controlling the Toy Pokemon shatter, and the Team Hollow mook immediately starts burning, falling to the ground and flailing around until the faint smell of burning wood and fired clay hits the air. Seems the connection is fairly dangerous!

Attacking the Grass Toy Pokemon shatters more of them, keeping them busy and keeping the Grass Controller distracted. Which is good, because Goomy gets nice and close and slimes him pretty bad! The Hollowed cultist turns and tries to STOMP on the Goomy, but has trouble moving at all, and gets stopped just short of hammering the tiny adorable goo dragon thing flat when a Ninetales full body tackles him off his feet, throwing him through the air and breaking him like the other Controllers.

The Hollowed Leader is slowed by his attack, which means Karal has all the time in the world to turn the tables on him! The slash flies at him and it slices his damaged arm clean off...! An arc of blue blood spatters onto the road and leaves a trail of frost around it, and the immense man collapses to his knees. The other cultists, those without the Control Staves, just start fleeing as fast as they can for... some reason, sprinting down the road to where they came from. The reason of this becomes clear quickly. They are running away from what's about to happen.

"I GIVE MYSELF TO REGIGIGAS!! FOR PURIFICATION!!" he bellows, as his whole body starts to glow--!!

A massive Explosion goes off, the force of which would be felt even by Sigrun all the way over there, blasting crops flat in a circle around it from the blast wave, blowing a huge crater in the road and vaporizing the Hollowed Leader. Anyone even vaguely close to it risks getting hit by it, and the light of the blast would burn itself into the back of people's skulls. The sound is deafening!! Those too close to it may end up being in a whole lot of pain after that, if they don't take the cue from the fleeing cultists.

Kord turns from where he is, back at town, to the sight of the enormous explosion. He raises his arm as the wind from it washes over him. "Damned abominations," he mutters to himself.
Athela Valemore Athela Valemore does help Fiera to her feet, only to be momentarily distracted by a few things. First being when Fiera proves to have more unseen pokemon with her, manifesting in the same way she has only seen happen when someone posesses a Pokejewel. Second being the Ninetales itself, a species not often seen in Bayern. Evolution stones were not common to come by, and you were more likely to see a fox like the sorcereous Braixen.

The third being when it... speaks is not quite the feeling Athela gets, but she seemingly understood the vulpine all the same. That gets her brows to raise a bit.

But the multitailed fox dashing off snaps her back to the reality at hand. "At a more oppritune time we shall have to talk milady, Trainer to Trainer." The last few days have been full of questions, but now was not the time to muddle thoughts with them.

The constant barrage of Grass-infused attacks are really starting to wear Samurott down... But at the same time, several Toy Pokemon meet an end skewered on his horn-blade. Until Goomy slimes and Ninetales batters their controller, and the remaining horde collapses.

That glow is familiar, just not from a man(?). "GET DOWN!" Athela scoops up her Eevee and then grabs Fiera and pulls her close again, intending to shield the woman with her more armored form from the Explosion blastwave.

Unfortunately her other pokemon are closer to the source of the blast. Even being part Steel type and thus resistant, Samurott is sent skidding backwards because of how battered he already is, and pretty much slumps in that spot. If it hadn't been for variant typing that would of knocked him out for sure. Timburr is less fortunate, as he goes careening across the ground and smacks into the upturned remains of a burnt up haycart.

Goomy... just sits there, looking confused. He had already been using Protect to shield himself from the cultist stomp that never came, which by coincidence also shields the small slug from the the blast as well.
Fiera Kitsun The cultist leader's shout is all the cue Foxfire really needs to bolt for some semblance of cover - but the nine-tailed fox Pokemon would at least attempt to scoop Goomy up before she bolts. If Goomy has her(?) own means of retreating, all the better; Foxfire doesn't intend to stick around, either way - she actually bolts behind the shell of a fallen Toy Pokemon for cover, if one is conveniently close.

Fiera, on the other hand, is still just a bit too brain-rattled to resist as Athela pulls her close to shield her from the blast-wave. Arashi is also 'behind' the two women when the Explosion goes off, so the Fearow has little to worry about.

"... is that it?" Fiera wonders after a couple of moments of relative quiet.
Lin There's only one saving grace to this turn of events - Karal Rei Lin's manuever had so much momentum that she ended up a few leaps' distance from the man when she finally skidded to a halt and sheathed her weapon. But no sooner than it clicks in her sheath than she notices the others running away and... that scream. "..... AAAAAAAAH!!"

If the OTHERS are running, SO SHOULD SHE. And so she does. A few moments of scurrying and then she DIVES to the ground. Not quite quickly enough. The force of it blows her off the road, an arm wrenched WAY out of any natural position. She screams briefly before plowing through a sizable amount of smoldering wheat.

Hard enough to kick up a cloud of plant matter and dust...
Alden Alden was far enough he was safe from the more harmful effects of the suicide bombing thankfully, but even then, he was rattled by the sheer strength of the explosion!. He runs to check on the ones affected, wishing he knew anything about first aid beyond bandages!, but at least, he tries to make sure they were alive, and if so, either carry them to get assistance, or guide others there.
Sigrun Stem Sigrun's been looking over with pretty major magnification, and all that light now gets magnified right into her eye. It's bright enough to cause physical pain, to make her lose vision in that eye. Temporarily, fortunately, but for a sharpshooter, that's crippling.
Athela Valemore "I.. believe so," Athela replies to Fiera as she lets go once the explosion has passed. There's some visible scorching to her armor from her defensive move, but better her than the more lightly clad girl. Her expression stitchs into a frown. "That is the first time I have seen the -cultist- use Explosion..."

But the town is safe, and the fields will recover with time and care. Certainly the farmers have some Grass types of their own to help with that? "The town is not far from here. That would be the best place to regroup ourselves."
Fiera Kitsun Fiera still looks kind of wobbly, but she recalls Arashi to her ball. That just leaves Foxfire still out, and as she returns to Fiera's side (likely still muddy-pawed from the fields), the red-haired trainer leans on her, cautiously but nonetheless grateful for the support. "Sorry I couldn't contribute better ... ugh. My head's still ringing from how Taki got blown away ... how'd they get THAT many attacks to converge on one target like that ..."

Okay, she may still be a little out of it. Linkshock is *NASTY*, she may be lucky to have retained consciousness.
Lin "Nrrrgggggghnnnnnnnngh...." Karal Rei Lin's groan just barely makes it out of the field. But she rises woozily, one arm dangling limply. She wastes little time gripping it with her working one and feeling up and down it... then the shoulder. A shoulder that doesn't feel right.

The redhead grimaces, grips the dislocated limb and... "Hrraaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!" With a sickening noise and a hard SHOVE she solves that problem.

Lin's still glowing, though a few notches fainter than before. The sunburst mark still gleams upon her forehead too.

    "Didn't.. see that... coming."
