Scene #4217: A School Opportunity

Nagato	It's evening at Hikari Seaport, the Admiral's in her office, a sigh escaping her lips as she sits up from her VRMMO bed... "Back to work, I have a few more things to sign and work on. The girls will be waiting for me to log in again soon." she comments, moving towards her desk as the curtain drapes over the area, hiding the Admiral's gaming sector. It's here, she's just sitting and working, doing her normal duty as Admiral with occasional looks to the red light out of her window.
Mairead Sandilands	Another is here, wearing the school uniform of the IS Academy, Mairead Sandilands, the IS cCadet / Representative Candidate of Scotland and current clan chief of Clan Sandilands; much to Mairead's disapprovement. To make matters worst, due to the fact that she is at the IS academy, it is expected of her to wed after finishing at the IS Academy to one of the other clans within Scotland. The heated debate with the eldars of the clan was interesting to thsoe who heard it more than seen it. Mairead was happy Yamada-sensei was with her for the entire month and she was close to a mother. Mairead was all too happy to leave Scotland, much to the raised voices of thsoe within Clan Sandilands, but she did and was happy. Still, she was lonily, not having a family to return too after the incident. However, she was back at Hikari and was glad to be somewhere and had spent a good part of her time working at the sea port, keeping out of the way and eyes of people. However, she was heading to see the aDmiral and knew she was gonna be in for a mouth full, but hoped Nagato would accept something. Stopping at her office door, Mairead knocked and waited for her to be let in or to be sent away. As she waited, she messed with her hands as she was nervious and has not really talked to many since she had returned.
Nagato	The door knocking catches the Admiral's attention some, turning her back to the door, looking out the window. "Come in." she calls out to the person behind her doors, a slight wonder on who it is. She taps her foot gently upon the ground, the echo penetrating the now dead silence that is in the room, with a singular slight yawn escaping just barely. "Do make it quick."
Mairead Sandilands	Listening, Mairead gulps, "Here goes nothing," she mutters to herself as she opens the door, "Admiral," she says as she walks in, her voice not too loud, "Sorry to have bothered ye. I can come back if ye are busy," she says as she steps in and at attention as she waits to be responded too. . o 0 (I hope I am not making her mad,) Mairead thinks.
Nagato	The door makes a squeak and the Admiral turns around, her stoic expression still upon her face. "Mairead? It's rare of you to show up at my office." she notices the attention stance and nods, "At ease, tell me, what can I do for you, Mairead? You've been gone for a while and I was hoping nothing bad happened to you." she looks around, "You can pull up a chair."
Mairead Sandilands	Nodding, she closes the door and walks over, "Thank you ma'am," she says to her as she sits down and looks. "Aye, I have had a lot on me mind this past month and a half," she mentions as she looks out the window and sighs, as her sholders relax. "I wanted to apologize for not being around during the missions against the Abyssal Fleet nor active much with Hikari or anyone," she states. "I know I should have notifed you of my leave, but ....." and he thinks, "But something came up at home," she adds.
Nagato	"That you should have. To not know where you've been, there's a few places where I could have used your air support, maybe to save a life or two... but let's not dwell on that for now. Is there something else that brings you to my desk that you would like to speak of, or was the apology the only thing of interest here this evening?" she looks down at the papers then back towards Mairead. "Or is something else bothering?"
Mairead Sandilands	Looking at Nagato she starts to nod her head, than stops and strats to shake it than stops and looks at her legs as she gulps, "I am sorry for that ma'am, I did not do what I said I would do and I will accept whatever you decide," she mentions without looking up. Rubbing her hand together, she fidgets with the ring on her finger as she looks at Nagato. "I have had a rough time," she says as she wipes her eyes with a hand. "I have no family to return to," she says as she sits. "And those I do have ...." and he looks away before she pulls a small card out. Changing the subject, she begins to speak, "The IS Academy has opened its doors to those within the Multiverse, and to start, they want a few from the Union to attend," and she stands, walking over and hands the card to her. "It will allow you to get first hand experience with an IS and to learn the basics, as well as see a battle between two IS'," she adds.
Nagato	Sensing the distress, Nagato gives a soft frown. "There will be no punishment, just future warning that I do expect to know where my Fleet members are." she gives a soft nod then moves to accept the card as it is given. "A few from the Union to see and get first hand experience with an IS?" Nagato's face perks up slightly, "Learn the basics and see IS combat in person." Nagato taps her foot and gives a slight nod, "Then I shall represent my fleet for the Academy." she says in a matter of fact tone... Which has three other ships fall into the room from the door... "WHAT?!" they all say. It's Mutsu, Musashi and Yamato. Her Captial Ships. "Ahem... it is to learn the capabilities of our allies.." and with a hand point... "One of our fleet members. We will be stronger to deal with the threats facing us." a pause "Now get going, I'll be heading to bed shortly myself..."
Mairead Sandilands	Smiling, the first time in a while that was not forced, Mairead shakes her head, "Aye," she comments. "The Admiral wanted to know more and after some talking the staff at the IS Academy decided to do this. Since the entire school is all girls, except for a single lad, its a chance to see others interact. Plus additional data that can be used on the mass produced units," she mentions as she looks and wipes her eyes, trying to hide her tears. Nodding, Mairead looks at Nagato, "Aye ma'am, I will," she states as she looks and watches the three capital ships leave. As they leave, Mairead looks out the window and sighs.
Nagato	She sighs softly, the Admiral shaking her head, "Those three, a font for gossip." she says, looking out the window. "Mairead, why don't you go rest up and we can talk about your other issues when you've had some rest, ok?" she turns back towards the IS Pilot, "I shall listen to you when you're ready and clear headed. As you've just gotten back, there's no need to divulge everything right away."
Mairead Sandilands	Nodding, Mairead looks, "Aye, but I have been back a while," she says. "I've just been avoiding people," and she looks. "even been stealthed from the IS Core Network," she mentions. "I've just been working on my classes that I missed at the IS Academy and Kawakami," and she looks. "I have not had a good nights sleep in weeks."
Nagato	"Then head to your barracks and rest. We can talk more about this tomorrow after the class." the Admiral's voice goes back to that stern talking again, eyeing Mairead with a slight bit of uncertanty. "I'll be heading to your world tomorrow bright and early to get a look. I trust you'll meet me there." she pauses slightly, "Dismissed."
Mairead Sandilands	nodding, Mairead looks, "Aye, I will be at the station waiting for ye," she states as she stands at attentiona nd then curties before she turns. "Sleep well Admiral," she says as she exits and closes the door before she walks off, "Ah, why does things ahve to be so hard," she comments to herself as she heads to bed herself.
