Owner Pose
Alden The digimon was trying his best to clear the area he used as a makeshift training spot, moving aside crude targets, and a couple sand bags he got somewhere, adn waited for the others to arrive tail twitching nervously. Next to him, a small, cat eared (and with a tail) shinki was watching around, "So you are going to show off what you can do?" she asks to the digimon, "Cool, make sure you are extra flashy." she cheers. Alden chuckles a bit, "I am nto sure I can do flashy, but will take the advice."
John Rizzo In the distance, a grey Crown Vic rolls up. The increased density of crystals jutting from the ground precludes the possibility of its driver getting any closer, and so it isn't long before the vehicle's slow approach rolls to a halt. The driver side door opens, and out steps Marcus Borden, business partner and fellow private investigator to John Rizzo, one of the Union's newer members. He stands at 5'9", wearing khaki slacks and a polo shirt for the summer. He is in great shape, clearly not allergic to the gym, cutting an athletic figure as he wanders down to meet Alden. A navy blue duffel bag is slung over his shoulder.
Finna A red-tailed hawk swoooops down out of the skies and down towards the others in the clearing.

The creature, without invitation or expectation, all but silently plops itself on Marcus' left shoulder. How it does this while making almost no noise is hard to say. What's clear is that Marcus has almost no warning anything's upon him until the last moment, when a weight settles on his shoulder.

The hawk makes a quiet little screechy chirp in greeting!

How it isn't digging talons in painfully to stay balanced there though, that's a mystery.

Finna can be a jerk, but not that kind of a jerk!
Alden Alden is surprised to see them arrive so quickly, but he is certainly not displeased!. He waves several times towards Marcus, lizard tail wagging behind, the Gabumon moving closer to greet the visitor properly. "Hello, nice to see you, I'm Alden, as you might guess, glad you would make it, I know this is not exactly close to a city." he says softly. The digimon is not wearing anything in particular, just his usual fur coat, while a small Shinki rushed to examine Marcus, and finally waves a few times, "Hi!" she says with a cheery tone.

The sudden hawk makes him jump back in surprise, and Katze even lets out a cute hiss, before she blinks and loooks at Finna curious, "Oooh, pretty bird." she says. Alden meanwhile, is curious, "Is this your bird?" he asks softly, admiring the red hawk.
John Rizzo What in the world? He's got a friend, now. Marcus has seen youtube videos about this kind of thing. Best thing to do is just be cool. "I guess it is," says Marcus, looking at the hawk. "It could be my sidekick. I could use it on the job and everything." He rubs his chin. "But if it, like, freaks out, I rescind that statement."

"Anyway, I'm Marcus. Nice to meet you, Alden. And, uh..." He extends a hand towards Alden, then looks down at Alden's Shinki.
Finna The hawk, much like any bird, cants its head about to get a different perspective on things. Marcus finds himself briefly eye-to-eye with the creature.

... It might be staring into his soul. Wait what?

The bird hunches down... and springs off him. Backwards. With a single wing-flap.

In the next few moments, there's a young woman breathing warmly down his back, lazily leaning against him from behind. "And just who's the one more likely to freak out, hmmm?" Finna asks in a teasy whisper, awkwardly leaning into the man.

Alden gets a wave from her free hand!
Alden The shinki smiles, "I'm Katze!" she offers, and then, easily jumps up to Alden's head, to get a better look at Marcus, and the hawk!. "You can use a bird at your job?" she asks curiously, tilting her head a bit. Alden is a bit amused, smiling to the avian, and simply remaining quiet, affraid to scare it away, "Nice to meet you, Marcus." he adds.

The sudden transformation makes Alden move back, and ppor Katze has to hold onto Alden's horn not to fall down!. The first one to react is the shinki, who quickly jumps on poor Marcus shoulder (she is light), and peeks at Finna, "That was awesome!." she cheers, cat tail twitching behind her. "Can you turn into other things too?". Alden meanwhile, chuckles, amused and waving back, "Finna!, so that was you?, I did not know you would do other things besides that fox."
Nicky A light plopping sound from some place above the crystals could be heard, as somethign presses aside the air to make space for another item that entered the world. Nothin unusual in that, items and people constantly cross the borders between worlds if one looks at them all in all, and quite some do so some distance above the ground. However, most things do count as either thing or being. At first, the shape falling through the portal was obviously a body, pretty much soaked in water, passing through the portal with quite some seawater in company. If it was still alife or dead was hard to tell in the moment before gravity started to pull it down. That was, when the body started to dissolve in a moment or two, turning into a fine, neon green and yellow mist.

A Moment or two the mist seems to float up there, almost seeming to defy gravity, but then it rapidly started to pull together, condensing in its center into the shape of a parrot. However, instead of unfolding the wings and flaping to guide the fall into a glide or flight, the parrot-thing just followed gravity's command and descended towards the crystal spiked plane, speeding up in the process. As it came closer, it would easily become visible why it was unable of any flight - while looking like a bird, it was a replica of one: A stuffed animal.
John Rizzo "Oh, guess I spoke to soon--" He turns and watches as the hawk falls, expecting it to take off. When instead it transforms into Finna, he flinches slightly, as if he wasn't expecting that. "Shit!" He drops his duffel bag with a start, before he sees it turn into a woman. Marcus... huhs. "Kind of like a movie my kid dragged me to," he opines. The private investigator almost makes an introduction to Finna, before he notices the stuffed animal falling unflatteringly to the ground. "Friend of yours?"
Finna Marcus dropping the bag's apparently enough of a startled reaction to satisfy Finna! She bursts into a fit of snicker-giggling that vaaaaguely resembles the gekkering of her spirit shape.

Of course she's also grinning for all the applause! "Plenty of things! But a girl's not about to spill all her secrets!" The Lunar twitches a finger in an 'ah-ah-ah' gesture the Shinki's way.....

But then, the sharp-eyed might notice that Finna's ears - strangely hard to really think about, it turns out! - perk and twitch. Her eyes slowly follow her ears, straight up...

... And in a few moments, Finna leaps oddly off to the side. A fluffy, white-furred tail that Marcus, Alden, and Katze may not have noticed at all whips out and snags the falling parrot moments before it would hit the ground. "... Strange weather today."
Alden Finna was not the only one with good senses, the small shinki noticing the noise of the falling plush and jumping to the rescue!. Of course, she realizes that she might.. have made a mistake as she was in the air, "Wait, how..." thankfullyu, she is spared of a meeting with the ground via plush parrot, by a plush tail!, she ends up snagged in it, and the parrot, squirming a bit. "Where did it come from?" she asks softly.

Alden grins to Finna, "Hey, if I show off my transformations, you can show off a little too." he teases, his tail wagging rapidly. He does not seem to notice the falling toy until... Katze and Finna rescue it from a rather harsh landing, "Very odd... never saw toys fall from the sky, unless you want to count Monzaemon appearing a couple weeks ago." ( He does mention what monzaemon was of course, a digimon shaped like... a large teddy bear, he even mentions it's special attack, which involves shooting floating hearts from it's belly. http://wikimon.net/Monzaemon ). In any case, he is rather happy, "I'm glad you came."
Nicky Even as Finna and the shinki snatch the parrot from the air, the water that had accompanied the body when it first appeared had mostly turned into fog and mist, waving over the crystalline floor before leaving wet spots where it condensed back to water. The plush parrot though seems pretty much normal but for the fact that it is pretty much drenched with salty seawater and just came from the sky. At least it does, till the plastic eyes of it wink and it starts to move slightly, the thick, stubby wings trying to shake some water out.
Finna Having seen stuffed animals before, Finna's fairly sure they SHOULDN't move. She uncurls her tail, releasing the plushy... and Katze.... all while boggling between Alden and Marcus. 'WTF?' is now HER expression, instead of the one she wanted to inflict on Marcus!
John Rizzo "Man..." Marcus' voice shifts upwards, conveying the most genuine tone of annoyance.

"Do you guys think you could slow your roll with the whole Multiverse shit? I mean I know I'm supposed to be getting used to this, but give me a break! In five minutes I've seen enough for three blockbuster movies and one made-for-tv special. I'm just a guy. I got bills to pay, laundry to do, alimony, and y'all are over here teleporting parrots and shit. I'm from Atlanta, and y'all are tryin' to do /too much./"

Marcus takes a big, deep breath.
Alden Alden is not that surprised perhaps because he is used to weird creatures, so he is more surprised at... their reactions, than the actual living plush toy. "What's wrong?" he asks Finna, not noticing how the parrot moved first, but then... he just leans closer to get a better look, even pokes at one wing, "Hey, can you talk?" he asks. He then turns towards poor Marcus, rubbing the back of his head, "I'd say sorry, but honestly... this never happens here, well, certainly not that much weird stuff at once." he says softly. Katze is busy being caught beneath a waterlogged plush, , pushing her way out, and seeming to find the fact the 'toy' was alive to be really cute!. If the way the shinki moves to try to help squeeze water from the wings, and lets out a soft "So cute" to be a sign.
Finna "Heeeey! Didn't call for any... stuffed parrots?" Finna protests Marcus' irritation, only to swing her attention back to the strange intruder. She has NEVER seen a stuffed animal MOVE. It's a little too creepy. Her eyes are wide and teeth a little clenched...
Nicky The Plushie shakes itself, trying to get less water out of the 'feathers' or rather its fabric and stuffing, ending up getting squeezed out by Katze in a rather comedic way, the fabric beak opening and closing in silent banter - nope, would you expect a plushie to talk, even if it would move?! It lacks vocal cords!
John Rizzo Marcus very tiredly rubs his forehead.

"Go ahead and turn into something," he says to the stuffed parrot, waving his other hand dismissively. "A person, a Ford, a public library, I don't care. I'm good now." With another deep breath, he looks from Finna, back to Alden. "So if I heard you right," he says, "You wanted to learn how to defend yourself in your two-leg form. Right?"
Alden The digimon is feeling bad for poor Marcus, adn tries to get his attention from the living plushie, "Right, thank you for coming here Marcus." he says, unsure how to offer some comfort to the male, he is tempted to pat his side but he realizes he might just annoy more than anything. "Yeah... I should change into it." he mumbles, rubbing the back of his head again. He looks at Katze, who seems to be trying to listen what the bird says, even as she was trying to wring out the water the best she would!. Soon enough she helps the plush settle down again, "There we go, nice and dry!... drier?" she muses.

The Gabumon chuckles a bit, realizing Katze was... distracted, and decides to do things on his own, reaching for his digivice, and finding a card. The change is swift enough, he even avoids calling out the card. All that happens is a bright flash of light, and an explosion of pixels/voxels, before a much taller, anthropomorphic wolf of sorts was standing instead of the chubby gabumon. "This is the form I was talking about." he says, tail offering a few flicks.
Finna "Soooo he did!" Finna's still got an EYE on the strange parrot thing. Is it an animal? A spy? She... does not know. Maybe it's a weird critter from the Wyld. Or of Fae origins. There's a reason she's not letting it out of her sight exactly...

The only thing that breaks her focus is Alden changing shape to... OOOOOOOOOOOOOH. Finna's eyes go wide fast! "..... Impressive!"

She's quick to aside to Marcus, "Will keep things simple later if you like, handsome!~"
John Rizzo "My snapchat is icecold85," he says to Finna. "Hit me up."

Marcus then leans down and unzips the duffel bag, pulling out a nightstick and a... wooden block carved in the shape of a gun. "You said it'd be hard for you to make your own gun... whatever that means," he says. "So I just brought this. Safer that way, too." To say nothing of driving around one of the most strict cities in the United States with a firearm in a duffel bag being unsafe. "And here's the nightstick. These are simple but effective and they can put a guy twice your size on the ground if you use them right. And with me, you always learn to use it right. These things /hurt./ So don't let your temper, your fear, or both get the better of you."
Alden The tall werewolfish creature moves closer, to examine the gun prop, "Well, I mean, I can materialize weapons, for a time things, based in the cards... things that use ammo use more energy, and the only one I can create is a shotgun of sorts." he explains, "So I much prefer to learn to use a short range weapon... sometimes punching things is a bit risky, and having more range helps." he says. He pays quite a lot of attention to his words, "I see, sounds very useful." he says, reaching over with one hand, "May I hold it for a moment?." he says softly. "I'll keep that in mind." he adds.
Finna "Your whatnow?" Finna stares blankly at Marcus, unsure WHAT to make of that response. But she then folds her arms, peering Alden's way! "With balance like that... gonna take a bit to figure out the right stance for a sword or club..."
Nicky The Plushie had taken all the time it could get dry, which took a considerable time as the synthetic stuffing surely could hold quite a lot of water between the fibers. Nothing it said was vocalized in the slightest - and reading beak was kind of a moot thing, so whatever the girl that was the plushie said was just to her knowledge. But as the attention seemed to be off of her, the parrot tried to make some way on those stuffie feet not made for walking, at least trying to make a bit distance to the others...
John Rizzo Marcus offers the nightstick to Alden. It's side-handle baton, about 24 inches total, with the handle placed 6 inches in. Its weight implies a construction of wood or perhaps hard plastic. "There's a couple different places you can hold it," he explains. "If you hold it at the side handle, you can raise it up to block someone. If you hold it at the long end, you can use the handle to catch someone's weapon and maybe even hook it out their hands."

"When you swing, don't swing it like you're playing baseball. In fact, just ignore everything except the tip." He waits for the digimon to take it, then points at the very tip of the club. "Flick your wrist like this," instructs the detective. He flicks his wrist, as if he were holding the baton. "Or jab. But don't haul off and whack someone. And never, ever hit someone in the head, the sternum," he points to his sternum. "The spine or the groin unless it's life and death. Go for nerve clusters."

He points at his Achilles' Tendon, his stomach, his wrists. "It was designed to be defensive, and a deterrent, but if you really have to, it can be just as lethal as a sword. You can also use it to put someone in an armlock, if you're fighting on the ground."
Alden The digimon holds the nightstick in his paws, turning it around a bit, before he slowly grabs it by the handle, holding it securely. As the detective speaks, he examines the handle, and then follows the motions from his impromptu instructor, his tail wagging slowly, even as he duplicates the movements in slow motion. He looks at his own wrists and other vital areas, ears twitching, before he nods. "I understand, aim carefully, short movements, not full body swings." he muses, before slowly returning the weapon to John, "Can you show me the armlock thing?".

KAtze was... rather curious about the plush, so when it begins to waddle away, she began to follow!, at least from a bit of a distance.
Finna This weapon is ODD and Finna's taking her time to think about it as Marcus explains...

"Most of what we get into's pretty life and death, but that thing looks HANDY!" The foxgirl comments.
Nicky The plushie turned the head around to glare at Katze, almost half around, as it waddled away to behind one of the crystal spires littering the place. Only there it once more seemed to fall apart into green mist, the colors of it just like the fabric it had been from. The cloud expands, thins, and then it suddenly starts to thicken with mass from seemingly nowhere, condensing back into a different shape - Nicky's human shape. It takes maybe two seconds in all, then the young woman with wet hair stands there, the clothes on her all wet, the backpack drenched, holding something white protounding from her left fist. Tilting the hand it didn't seem to catch light in too many different facettes, but then one showed, hinting that it was a kitchen knife with a ceramic blade.
