Adele Rozenbach Saint Vincent's Hospital. Sydney, New South Wales. Some incarnation of Earth.

Adele is not physically present, but she has sent a van driven by a ghoul, providing a ride to her familiar and if necessary, any other aid. At the first, the van looks fairly normal, aside from being a WW1 era vehicle.

It stops looking that way when what once may have been a bear comes out, though it has a bone exoskeleton rather than fur, with a long tail that ends in a razor-sharp stinger, dripping with what can be little other than acid based upon the sizzling effect it has upon the pavement.

Each of its three heads is extending far beyond its torso, with long, armoured necks that grant it abundant freedom. Their teeth razor sharp, with odd canines. It starts to casually approach the hospital, bashing open the wall to allow the van to follow.
Argast Wyrdseeker     Next to the bear opens a strange portal. From it emerges something out of a viking history show, except for the leader. Like something from a dark fantasy, Argast looked with a grin under his full-helm. "Take what you will for your master, beast. But leave the diseased to me. Nurgle will gain more worshippers....even with my......distaste of his methods. Such is the will of the Lord of Change."
Rebecca Chambers From not too far away, albeit at a nearby side of the hospital, Rebecca comes running in quickly. Apparently she arrived a bit of a distance away then decided to take the remainder of the trip on foot. She drops to the ground upon spotting the strange creature, and then she sees the other portal appear close by, meaning that there's antoher enemy.

Drawing her Magnum from her holster, Rebecca quickly loads a clip into the chamber and then turns off the safety. Each clip only holds about nine rounds, but they pack a punch. Nevertheless, her ammunition is in short supply and she must use it wisely. After equipping herself, Rebecca gets into a crouched position and begins to slowly approach the area, trying to keep out of sight as much as possible.
Eithne Sullivan     Just when you think it's safe to get sick or injured, someone sends a bear to wreck stuff. This is why Eithne doesn't trust hospitals!!

The dark-haired Scion arrives with a screech of bicycle tires, her funny-looking green cruiser crashing into the hospital wall when she jumps off of it without bothering to brake first. "Hullo hullo then, what's all this?" It's even grosser than it sounded! And the van's not so great either. It reeks of death arrested, corrupted into something unnatural... Eithne might raise a zombie or three, but she never warped anybody into a super weird looking acid-dripping triplebear!

Also, the dissonance of something that isn't truly alive or dead or undead makes her feel a little gross.

She should probably go after the bear first. It's the most apparent threat, though she can't ignore the van either. Reaching into a fold in reality, she draws forth a ridiculously large greatsword, as long as she is tall, six inches wide, made of pitted and scorched iron. Holding it like a lance, she charges forward at full speed - that's right, her opening move is an attempt to just bulldoze the thing off-course.
Adele Rozenbach The familiar is clever, or at least, clever enough to realize what Eithne is doing. It's remarkably swift for such a heavy beast and insists placing itself in between the sword and the van. Bone armour is pretty useful, most of the time, but Rhiannon is quite literally designed to cleave through it.

As such, it roars in pain when the blade goes through its exoskeleton and draws... not blood, some kind of black ichor that seeps slowly from the wound. In anger, it retaliates with his tail, a bash rather than a sting, with only minimal acid drip.
Argast Wyrdseeker     Argast turns to greet Rebecca with a nod. "Have you come to give yourself to the worship of the dark pantheon?" He asks, tone almost mocking. He leans forward on his staff, and gathers up magic energy in his hand, forming a fireball. "You will have to wait your turn. A whole gathering of new devoted await inside...I should not keep them waiting..."
Rebecca Chambers "No!" Rebecca says sternly. "I've come to take you and your cohort down! We can't have you causing any trouble like this around here!" She notices the fireball forming and she begins to take defensive measures, looking towards a nearby wall which she jumps behind when she reaches the corner. Pressing her back against the wall, Rebecca readies her Magnum.

"I doubt it will work, but I am willing to give you one chance to surrender peacefully!" Rebecca calls out. "If not, I don't think I need to say what's gonna happen!"
Argast Wyrdseeker     Argast laughs loudly at that and hurls the fireball towards Rebecca. "That is my answer! You may still surrender yourself to me...I may yet be merciful!" He counters. That strange weapon she wielded intruiged the sorceror, but it was something he could look into later.
Eithne Sullivan     "Oho," Eithne can't help but grin at the sudden swiftness the beast shows. "Good, I was worried this was gonna be easy!" She hasn't had a good knock down drag out fight in /weeks/ and it's been wearing on her patience. There's no blood, just some gross goopy black stuff - not too surprising, considering that it's a freaky zombie bear thing - but that's enough to distract her long enough for that tail to swing around, slamming into her chest and sending her skidding backward. It'll feel like taking a swing at a tree. Acid droplets spatter her clothes, but she ignores the burn for now.

She's going to take that bear apart down to the bolts!

Darting back in, she raises Rhiannon overhead for an executioner's chop, bringing the sword down like an axe for the bear's spinal armor.
Adele Rozenbach Now that Adele's familiar isn't attempting to tank for the van, it's showing remarkable deftness, nearly but not quite dodging the blow. It doesn't take the spine, but a good chunk of its side is chopped open, falling to the side and leaking more of the same black ichor.

Unlike Eithne, it doesn't appear to be enjoying the fight. The beast's eyes reveal but one emotion, pain. Unending, unrelenting suffering. And yet, it fights, rushing forward to try to get at least one of its maws to sink into the scion.

And if it does, well... that's a fast-acting venom, inducing necrosis like the brown reclude spider.

And while this is going on, the van's driver steps out and starts to casually stroll into the hospital.
Rebecca Chambers The fireball comes at Rebecca just as she's peering out from behind the wall, and the flames singe her arm. "Ahh! Dammit!" She cries out, taking her First Aid Spray and spraying on the burned area. Granted it's just a first degree burn, but she doesn't want to risk infection or anything like that. "So you want to play like that? Very well!"

Rebecca spins out from behind the wall and opens fire upon Argast. "You've made a foolish mistake attacking a Union elite like myself!" She says, firing a single shot. "Try that again and you WILL find yourself wishing you hadn't done that!"
Eithne Sullivan     If only she were as good at reading emotions as she is books... but even though she's not great at it, even Eithne can pick up on things given enough time. The way the creature roars in pain, the way its side opens up... the way it moves like something that's never felt joy.

Eithne isn't particularly fast, and a set of those sharp teeth sink into the meaty part of her left bicep. Shrieking in anger, she drops her sword and digs the fingers of her right hand into the monster's face, scrabbling and scraping for purchase, finding the edge of its jaw and /pulling/.

Despite the burn in her arm, and soon the numbness in her fingers, Eithne fully intends to tear the damn thing's jaw right off.
Argast Wyrdseeker     Argast simply laughs and conjures up another fireball. "Is that fear I sense from you?" He started to say, until the round hits him. He stumbles back a bit, but breaks into laughter. "Such a wonderous weapon.....truely, Tzeench has given me a gift by sending you. Once I destroy you, I will learn of your pistol, and turn it into something worthy of Lord Tzeench!" He shouts back ,letting the flaming ball fly.
Adele Rozenbach Eithne can pull her way out of that jaw with relative ease. The poison has been delivered, which makes the bear less concerned with keeping those jaws locked tight. It doesn't expect the attempt to rip its jaw clean off, and so doesn't try to get away until it's too late, and its jaw is turn off, still dripping venom as it's within the scion's hands.

And in response, the other heads roar in pain, and its stinger comes barrelling down for Eithne, trying to pierce the scion's skin and inject large doses of strong acid, to try to melt its enemy from the inside.

And in the meantime, the ghoul that's wandered into the hospital has picked up two beds, victims of a car crash, and is starting to push those out towards the exit. To his credit, he made sure to leave the medical kit that's attached to them intact and functioning.
Rebecca Chambers Being in the open means Rebecca's more vulnerable to attack than usual. She tries to get out of the way but she's caught by the fireball partially, which catches her torso on fire. Fortunately, a stop-drop-and-roll method puts the flames out quickly, but she's got a bit of a burning sensation underneath her uniform and her kevlar vest. "Dammit, I won't be able to patch myself up here."

Then Rebecca notices the ghoul taking out the two victims. "Hey, stop them from getting away!" Rebecca yells to Enya, before turning to face Argast once again. "You think you're gonna destroy me? I've dealt with things a LOT worse than you!" She runs for cover behind another nearby object while firing another shot. "Just give up already!"
Argast Wyrdseeker     Argast conjures up more fire, letting it roar up to defend against the bullet. "You have faced nothing like me..." He says. With a bit of focus, shadows seem to cling to the sorceror as he taps his lore of shadows. In a blink, he vanished. But near rebecca, he would emerge again, and swing his sword for her.
Rebecca Chambers Going for a sword now? Well, Rebecca can play like that too. Of course she barely misses being slashed, the blade cutting off part of her shirt. It doesn't touch the flesh but it leaves her a little bit on the exposed side. "Ugh, I go through more shirts this way!" She mutters, while holstering her Magnum and drawing her stun baton. "If you want to fight close to me, then I wuill oblige you!"

Rebecca circles to the left, watching her opponent carefully. "You have a sword, I have a stun baton. They each have their own advantages, but who wields them better?" Rebecca asks as she swings her electrified weapon at Argast.
Eithne Sullivan     Her left arm doesn't want to work that great anymore. Even while her body works to clear the venom, to repair the damage, the caustic substance worms its way through her flesh. Eithne tosses away the creature's jaw and licks the remains of its venom from her fingers, barely managing to dodge the maddened creature's stabbing tail. "Poor thing," she frowns, holding her injured arm close to her side. Blood oozes darkly down her shirt. "Were yeh ever a real creature?"

Even one-handed, she can still fight. Rolling away from the bear, she catches up her sword again and levels it at the monster. "I'M A BIT BUSY!" she yells back at Rebecca, even as she charges back in to swing for the long acid-dripping tail. She's just going to have to do it the slow way - tail, head, head!
Argast Wyrdseeker     Argast grins under his helmet. He moves to parry the baton, though he misses and is hit. "Impressive..." He muses, fighting against the stun. But...how will...you fight the shadows?" He asks. From around the both of them, the shadows congeal and shift to form into strange shadow beasts. "The power granted to my by lord Tzeench knows no bounds. Fire, metal, shadows.....how can you fight the winds of magic?!"
Adele Rozenbach The tail is cut off, but doing so doesn't quite rid Eithne of the acid problem. Instead of dripping it from a stinger, it's not spewing it from a stump, and the bear does a quick pirouette to spill it around, causing pits in the concrete to open up, and throwing some in the scion's direction as well.

That's not all, however. It also tries to clamp another one of its jaws into Eithne's flesh. Like Eithne, it's trying to disable its opponent piece by piece. In this case, the other arm.

And as the two heroes of the Union fight without interrupting the ghoul, he makes his merry way back towards the van, hostages pushed forward like a loyal minion.
Rebecca Chambers Rebecca shakes her head in disbelief at the shadows, but oddly enough she leaves them for the time being. She knows that she has a duty to help the innocent, no matter what the risk. "Sorry, but I've got to run for awhile," Rebecca says as she runs off away from Argast, aiming for the ghoul. "Hey you! Stop right there!" She yells as she draws her Magnum again and opens fire. "You're not getting away with those patients!"
Eithne Sullivan     She didn't expect to kill the thing in one last blow, but Eithne can confidently say she didn't expect it to start some kind of /acid pirouette/. Caustic liquid splatters across her legs, hot pink welts rising slowly beneath it. "--AW FER FUCK'S SAKE!!"

It's all she can do to keep her good arm out of the thing's remaining mouths - and then she spots Rebecca heading over for the van, and just what that ghoul's wheeling towards it. "Shite." She's running out of time to play around...

"Will yeh just DIE already?!" she barks at the monster, raising a leg to kick it away from her - possibly into one of the hospital's walls. "<Bás!>"
Argast Wyrdseeker     "Your not getting away that easily!" Argast shouts. He chases after Rebecca, as the rest chase after the pair. They were bound to their master, or at least made it seem like such.
Adele Rozenbach The ghoul is surprisingly sturdy, he takes two direct hits from the magnum and though large of flesh are missing and the same black ichor is seeping from the wounds, it is still standing, still trying to get the patients into the van. Slower now, his strength not what it was.

The familiar is kicked back, and whimpers when it crashes through the wall. And after that whimper, it collapses forward, the light from its eyes fading as it curls up, accepting its death with what almost could be thought of as joy.

It's still leaking acid.
Rebecca Chambers Trying to pick up the pace and run a bit faster, Rebecca ejects the empty clip from her Magnum then loads a new one into the gun. "I said leave them alone!" She yells out as she fires another shot, this time aiming at the ghoul's 'head' or equivelant in this case. Of course at the same time she's mentally kicking herself for trying to yell at the ghoul. Obviously it has insufficient intelligence to comprehend commands from a S.T.A.R.S. operative!
Argast Wyrdseeker     Argast runs and lauches himself towards becky with rage. "Enough!" He screams. The shadows follow suit and leap in front of the bear. "I have had enough of you ruining our plans..."
Eithne Sullivan     Eithne watches the bear die, and doesn't feel as happy as she thought she would. It's no fun when they didn't want to fight her... But she doesn't have the time to stop and mourn it. The ghoul is still out there, and the crazy black knight with the staff and sword.

The Scion takes a quick inventory. She can't move her left hand. Most of her upper left arm is a slowly-dissolving mess. No left arm then. Her right fingers are a little numb from touching the venom right at its source, and her legs and front are quietly sizzling from acid burns. It's getting worse as the acid eats deeper into her flesh, and she doesn't know how long that will take.

    Otherwise, she feels 'great'...?

"I'm sorry," she tells the bear's corpse, and clenches her raised fist. "<Ardú.>"

The bear won't feel any agony, any pain. What made it alive, made it /feel/, is gone - was probably really gone long before now. There's only the body, and the tendrils of Eithne's power threading its way through nerves, through muscle and bone, and then there's only a two-and-a-half headed bear, still leaking acid from the stump of its tail, raising a paw to crash through Argast's shadow like a sheet of paper. It roars with three throats; Eithne swings up on its back with her good arm and pets its houlder soothingly. "Just a little more."

They charge at Argast, Eithne's sword ready to cleave him in half at the shoulder should he not move - armor and all.
Adele Rozenbach "The Princess--" And then the Magnum's bullet cuts off what else the ghoul was about to say when she blows his head clean off, the rest of the body falls to the ground, dripping igor. Without ghoul or familiar, there's only the chaos sorcerer left to finish the mission, if he's even inclined to do so.
Argast Wyrdseeker     Argast grimmaces as the bear is killed, and then revived as an enemy. "So...that is your power." He says. He rolls back to avoid the swipe, and smirks. "Ghoul, hurry your duties up. Your companion is dead, and unless you want me to crash a meteor into the land, pick up and leave." He says. His shadows take up form at his sides, and bring their swords up. "Come, heroes..." He says, fire forming along his staff. With a SLAM, he sends out a wave of hellfire.
Rebecca Chambers As the hellfire comes at her, Rebecca tries to dive and roll on the ground, but the flames catch her again. She cries out and begins to roll around again, leaving her a bit burned and with a damaged uniform. "Crud!" She says as she applies more First-Aid Spray to her visible injuries. Gritting her teeth through the pain, she opens fire again, this time emptying the remainder of her clip, which is about three or four rounds, firing at Argast. "You're done here!"
Eithne Sullivan     It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. Eithne kind of likes it. There's something pure about pain, something crystalizing.

The bear charges, Eithne on its back screaming in what might be Irish and is certainly profanity. "<<SHITHEAD! YEH WANNA DROP A METEOR? I'LL FUCKIN' CATCH IT AND SHOVE IT DOWN YER UGLY THROAT!>>"

She crashes through the wall of flame, sparks trailing and catching on her hair and the bear's surviving fur, the breath stolen from her lungs by the heat. "FUCKIN' DIE ALREADY!" There's something maddened behind her eyes. But she's not quite there. Not quite yet. Tumbling off of the bear's shoulders, dead arm limp at her side, Eithne drives her sword in a wide arc - if she connects she might cut the knight's head off, or maybe just swat it off like the head of a dandelion. That sword's murder.
Argast Wyrdseeker     Argast turns and takes the bullets into his armor. But the strangest thing is that despite the damage, there was no blood. As for the sword, a shadow dove in the way and sacrificed itself for the sorceror. "Oh really now? Let's see your bravado when your sword turns against you..." He muses. With the last shadow guarding him, he focuses on the lore he knows the least of...the lore of metal. If his control works, and he's not distracted or his focus broken, Eithne might find the sword refusing to swing. (Her call.)
Eithne Sullivan     The shadow that catches her swing instead feels doesn't feel too real, but it seems it can die. And it does, its 'head' a dozen feet away from the rest of it before it goes the way of most bisected things.

She's pulling back for another of those berserker swings when her arm loses its strength. Or - no, the sword is heavy. Too heavy. After straining for wasted moments to lift it, to swing or stab, Eithne lets it fall with a heavier thud than even a forty pound blade should possess.

Fuck it, she doesn't need it.

    She's got a little friend.

The bear rears up on its hind legs, Eithne clinging to it with her working hand, and lunges for the chaos sorceror with claws the length of human fingers.
Argast Wyrdseeker     Argast smirks, until the bear rears up. The last shadow takes it's death, and looks to the sorceror. "That's all, I think...Time to go." He says. With a group of shadows behind him, the sorceror of chaos steps back and after a moment vanishes into nothingness...
Rebecca Chambers As the sorcerer disappears, Rebecca gives a thumbs up to Enya, before going to help get the two beds back into the hospital. She's got some difficulty, but by now it seems some hospital staff have come out to assist her. Once she's gotten everything back under control, Rebecca returns to Enya and smiles. "Thanks for the assistance. Eithne, I believe it is? I'm Rebecca Chambers. I'm glad you were here to help me out."
Eithne Sullivan     What the-- he can just vanish, like that?!

"<BULLSHIT!>" she screams, and holds up a backwards peace sign at the sorceror's last known location. The bear settles back onto its paws and... just stands there. Eithne frowns, slowly climbs down off of the bear's back, and picks up her sword. "Eh? Oh - nice to meet yeh, Rebecca. Thanks fer yer help, as well."

...Well... she's got a zombie bear, now what's she going to do with it?

She'll just have to ride it back to Dun Realtai and give it a proper funeral.
