Owner Pose
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli was walking out amidst the pier today. She wished to see more of this town and its people. Sadly, most of them were not like Steven. They were friendly enough, but... Steven was Steven. There were no others. No replacements. She was wearing odd clothing today, though. A purple kimono with black snowflakes and a snowy sky-gray sash. It wasn't something she'd worn before as far as he knew and was a gift from a friend.

She was now sitting on the edge of the pier, eating some 'fries' as they were called and staring out into the sea.
Kotone Yamakawa Humans were a hard thing to replace an honestly alien concept to a species like the Gems who from the human way of looking at things? Might be said to come in six packs. Kotone had foun the town was nice enough and reminded her a bit of home. A little more diverse but this was on the east coast which seems to have been like her own North AmericA? Settled far longer than the west. Either way she'd done the unthinkable. She'd hit up the pizza joint for some slices then gone to the frymen's for some fries. At least the owners of both had paid enough attention to the multiverse to accept off world money, she'd have to pick up some local cash though if she was going to operate about here on an off. It would be less trouble for everyone, she'd tapped into the local internet and has been just honestly going over the local media as she wandered. She did pause to see a blue woman, blue hair? Nothing odd there she's got it herself though the blue skin? Wait that's Lapis and Kotone would wander towards the gem.

"Hey, trying some of the local food? The Pizza and fry place are pretty nice."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli glanced over to her. "Ah. Indeed. They are quite..." She glanced down to them. "I don't particularly like them. Here." She held them out. At least gems probably couldn't give diseases from eating after them. She turned towards the water. "Humans are such strange creatures. Why do you mix so many foods with other foods? Wouldn't it be simpler to just eat one type at a time? Far less hassle and the taste barely changes."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa tilts he head as she accepts the food and combines the orders of fires together. "Eating the samre thing day in and day out can ... be distressing honestly. We need so many different things from what we eat we need to spread out. Sides it does matter it keeps things mixed up and different. Also we can't always get the same food either. Plants take time to grow, same for animals. Also depends on what you can farm, raise or catch too."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Ahhhh. I suppose that makes sense. Tedium is... disparaging." She glanced out towards the water. "But then... most gems don't change. We can go hundreds of years doing the exact same things. Millenium, even. sometimes whether we like it or not." She blinked a few times, before pinching her nose.

"What brings you here today? Are you visiting Steven, or did you want to try some more of those strange snacks of theirs?" She held out her hand and water flowed up. She then swallowed the water. A few moments later the water came... back up... with the food she had eaten and she tossed it over the side. right, gems didn't digest food.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Says "It can be and doing that a human might start to suffer insanity if it went on long enough. I guess we're really all over the place as a species? I had hoped to come catch up with Steven later. I also wanted to check on the town, this world's like mine but very different in some ways. What has you out here if I might ask? Just exploring?"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli gave a small nod. "Yes. I'm not always... welcome back at the house. Pearl doesn't particularly... she isn't very fond of me. Not that I can blame her. After what I did to them, I deserve more disdain than just hers." She shook her head.

"But then, Steven is a creature of pure forgiveness. I believe he would forgive even the diamonds for all they have done to try to destroy him. Truly, then? I find it odd how most of these portals seem to lead to worlds... well... much like yours. It is as if humans are the very basis of the omni-verse. Everyone seems to know them. but us gems? None of the other worlds have anything like us I've seen."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Says "I can't say much on that I don't know enough but as for Steven? He's a good kid, even with humans someone like him's pretty rare. We're pretty darn common really but the detials vary, magic, technology. Strange powers it's odd and hey it just makes Gems stand out even more when you think about it. I heard of a few inorganic species but most of them not humanoid."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Exactly. A part of me wonders why that is. Are gems just... not a suitable species? Perhaps our sort are destined for extinction. Perhaps our war like leaders just... always are shattered."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Who knows but I'm certain your world's not alone right? Rose is from another version of this world isn't she?" She grins a bit. "So your people are not alone and if I might ask the DIamons? Are they your leaders? It's kinda funny though about diamonds on earth."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli shakes her head. "No. She's from this world, but the past. I think. She should NEVER have come here. She doesn't deserve it," she said bitterly. "She's blind and evil. And diamonds lead all of the gems. They are... were... our leaders."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Another timeline and I can't judge any of this, and it sounds like you have a caste system if I'm reading that right. They ... have never gone well with humans. There's a nation that's struggled to get out from under a relgious one in recent memory it's still not totally free of it. Then agian humans are chaotic to you are we not? Short lived and ... maybe insane by your standards."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nods. "Our leaders rule forever. The diamonds. The only way a new leader cn appear is if a new diamond appears. Which is, frankly, impossible. Or so rare it may as well be. In our millenia there have only been four and... one of them..." she went quiet. "Tell me about your world."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Just the gem diamons are very common they are carbon based actually really compressed carbon. There's a heck of a lot of carbon on earth or any earth given all the live but mine? We have had no contact with aliens we developed from simple hunters and gathering to the point we started playing around with science to the point we can crack atoms. For power and sadly as weapons. My world's come off nearly destroying itself but it pulled back at the last moment, we also taken to fusing ... ourselves with machines as of late. Some for want or those like myself for medical reason. My entire body's a contstruct."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli looked her up and down. "Really? That's an efficient way of living. My body isa construct as well. Our gems make it, hard light as it is. We can be a... tiny bit delicate at times, but for the most part it is a very efficient, very good system. Allows us to not expend too much energy at once."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Maybe but there's issues with it the technology sprung up in less than a human life time. There are ... issues, the long term mental health? Or even brain health are still up in the ir and on the latter there's already a few disturbng problems. Ah I think I see, an interesting way to interact with the world though I have to ask have you taken a humanoid form to blend in a bit here or make use of things made for humans? Also nice choice on the dress." Kotone grins a little bit an does seem to mean it. She also pauses to eat some more of the food.
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli blinked and then lookeddown. "Actually, we took these forms naturally. It's a very efficient form, you realize. The eyes are at the highest point of the body and the next allows you to view easily. Two limbs are usually efficient enough to deal with two tasks. Two legs are enough to allow both a good speed and require far less energy and focus than four."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Though stablity is an issue, walking on two legs? Is a controlled series of falls where you keep catching your self. I was just curious you make some good points there. Though there's likely other considerations for someone made of flesh. You know I grew up on the water in a town kinda of like this. Though the most odd thing we found was the wrecked military ship. Rather than say finding beings from another world."
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli shook her head. "Not at all. It's far more efficient to just have the long, wide part at the bottom, the foot. It reduces chances of falling by 90% or more. Aside from times of high instability, at which point we'd just grow second legs. There's a reason two legs are chosen often, after all."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa seems to be getting the idea for the most part. "In the end what works, I have found. Though the more I think on it? Gem do remind me of a friend of mine. She's an digtal being doesn't have a form unless she choses to take one so to speak. What you said eariler has me thinking, Steven really has a talent for getting people together doesn't he?"
Lapis Lazuli Lapis Lazuli nodded. "Indeed. I have never met a creature who is as kind as him, or has such a knack for bringing people together." she paused. "Or causing trouble. Why? Did you need him to help you find a new friend?"
