Owner Pose
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran walked and followed her around. Despite the fact he was basically boy Weiss, he actually did show her proper respect. Also, he was a little bit of a dope. He mayyyy have fallen down some stairs and not noticed the wet sign. But hey, no concussions!

Finally, however, they came to the nice training area and he smiled. "So then, I think this is a good time for a break." Nothing like a break to beat the snot out of each other. He stepped towards it, before pausing. "Your magic, it protects you, right? How much does it protect you? Would it protect you from my blade? I'd rather not accidentally lop off your arm in a training exercise."

He also apparently didn't hold back, since he was talking about using a sword in practice. I mean, sure, hunters and huntresses probably did it all the time. But he was a foreigner! Most people thought that was weird!
Yang Xiao Long     "Aura is the outward expression of the soul. It is our sword and our shield... it'll take a lot to hurt me." replies Yang with a big grin. "We spar with weapons all the time." she adds, as she walks through the doors into the ampetheatre. "We use this room for duel practice, just so you know, we might get an audience, the upperclassmen are due for a break period soon."
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran shrugged. "That's fine. I've never had problems fighting with an audience." As long as Sakura wasn't in there. His mind flashed back to his fight with Arthur and he slackened a little. He then shook his head. No. Different person. Different fight. He'd WIN this time.

He moved to stand apart from her, moving into his stance. His right had, gripping his sword, poised over his head like a scorpion. His left hand and foot out at her. "Whenever you're ready."

The moment she gave the go ahead, he was off. He came charging right at her, a forward assault, huh? Then-- The moment he got close he swirled slightly to her left, his sword striking out, his right foot forward. Then the moment she blocked, parried or dodged, his left foot moved in and his fist shot out, trying to drive it straight into her with a powerful blow.

It seemed he fought differently than the hunters, at least. His weapon was just one of the weapons he used at a time. And he wasn't one to hold back, either.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang is a pretty standard Huntress. Though she's started learning that she can't treat extraversals like her peers and comrades. So as the slightly shorter Li jukes her and goes for the punch to her midriff as she sidesteps... she tanks it, taking the punch square on and skidding back slightly.

Syaoran would feel like he just deadstruck a weight bag filled with wet sand, it gave, but not much... and now, he's got a flurry of punches mixed with some knee strikes and full-on kicks coming his way!
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran shook his hand a little bit. That meant he wouldn't be punching her much. Instead he'd have to resort to kicks. He moved back with her. If she paid attention closely, she might notice he... was moving to dodge her blows before she even started to make them. To be precise, as fast as he was, she was still faster. And yet he was already on the way to avoiding her by the time she started to wind up. Future sight had its advantages.

Unfortunately, he was still just human and he knew one wrong move and he'd be down. It was different from his last fight, at least. Then he'd been on the offensive. He moved back and then he'd suddenly duck down when she came at him and he swept the leg. "Heed thy call! Petals of the wind, come forth!" Before he'd even done the full sweeping motion, his left hand would shoot out as great winds hurtled out at her, planning to send her flying.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang is watching the boy move... she can see the preemptive motions. This'll be difficult. She erks as she's swept, then tumbles across the ring, but returns the favour with a shot from her gauntlet. It's a small explosive package of Dust, which detonates like a fireball on impact. Heat and kinetic force, no shrapnel.
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran looked a little confused when she did that, he lifted his hands up, catching it on his arms and being sent back a few inches. "Interesting," he said. "Melee and ranged weapons in one? I can't say I've seen such things before." He then held out his left hand. "But I wonder how well they work? Lightning, help me!" oh, a different incantation.

Followed a moment later by lightning striking down at the woman. Huh, the same move he used on that Grim. Now she got to see it up close and personal.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang grins. "They work pretty well, in my opinio--"BZZZT. She grunts, and falls to a knee as the lightning strikes her, arcing off her into the floor as it scatters across her Aura. It obviously hurts like a bitch, but she doesn't seem to be taking much in the way of bodily damage just yet, a few burns that heal over quickly with a flare of orange-yellow light.

"Heh... be glad I'm not Nora, she gets a real charge out of electic attacks." she quips, lifting her lilac eyes as the first stage of her Semblance kicks in.

Syaoran's seen it at its peak, now he gets to see the stages that make up that peak. Her hair begins to glow, spalling off 'embers' that make it look like golden fire. She stands, slams her fists together, then launches herself forward again, aiming a heavy right hook to come in from the boy's left, into his shoulder. What she adds, this time, is the burst of kinetic force that she was using against the Grimm, the shotgun blast spitting out a wave of pure concussive force to add more impact and a slightly wider and longer range to her punch.
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran went wide eyed. Oh shi-- He managed to leap back, slippery little bugger. He avoided the blunt of it... but the burst of concussive force grazed him, just a bit. But even that was enough to send him flying back. He fell back, caught himself in his hands and back flipped to his feet. His sword flew off, embedding itself in the ground.

She was tough. One blow like that and he would be down. But he wasn't going to give up from that. When she moved in, he moved in to meet her. With her next strike, he'd duck low. "Obey thy command!" Here we go again. "Water dragon, come forth!" Water would swirl out around his arm and then attempt to launch up, wrapping around her gauntlets and... freezing them. Assuming it worked, he then launched into his own fury of an attack. Sticking primarily to kicks and knees, he'd push in deep to her guard, trying to drive blows into her abdomen before spinning once and aiming an elbow to her face.

Sadly, ti was likely going to hurt him more than it would her.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang grunts as her arms are frozen, and then gets laid into with kicks and knee strikes. Kickers have always been a weak point for her. They have better reach and more overall power than her primarily punching style grants. She growls as she tanks the blows, being forced back... but each strike makes her stronger.

As Syaoran spins to deliver that elbow strike, she roars, shatters the ice on her arms from pure brute strength, and catches the arm. The boy must see what's coming next, as she shifts her stance, and goes to hammer-throw him across the arena. Her hair is blazing, and now, she's gained a faint golden aura which ripples like barely seen flame.
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran went wide eyed as she reached out and then threw him. He sailed through the air, at the stadium wall. And it looked like he was going to crash.

The stadium crowd they'd gathered held their breath in anticipation, getting ready to cheer.

"Heed thy call! Petals of wind, come forth!" Gosh dang freaking MAGIC! A flurry of wind formed, stopping him in the air and dropping him nicely to the ground. It wasn't over though, not yet. He charged forward, grabbing paper talismans from his pockets. Oh, she'd recognize these. He jump kicked once, landing quickly and then going into a flury of kicks while trying to avoid a solid blow from her arms. Leg, torso, head, arm, leg, torso. Meanwhile, his hand would shoot out, the talismans flying through the air before he pulled back, trying to get out of reach of her arms.

"Thunder, help me!" he yelled, moments before the thunder would arc between the talismans. He was panting as well, his legs throbbing. His blows were powerful, but her magical reinforcements were getting to him. while she was getting faster with each hit, he was getting slower and worn down. His little future sense couldn't keep him safe forever.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang is getting angry. She's reigning it in, because this is just a sparring match, but as her Semblance flares, so too does her temper. As Syaoran kicks, she parries with her gauntlets, and shifts her position... until the talismans come out and he attempts to fry her with more lightning.

She fires shots into the ground, flinging herself out of the strike zone, backflipping, sticking the landing then firing again. She uses the impulses not to attack, but boost her speed, launching herself upwards at an angle. As she hits the apex, she seems to stop, and translates the momentum straight down.

She isn't aiming to hit him directly, instead she's aiming to smash her fist into the ground at his feet, which will send up a rippling 'quake' as she fires a shell directly into the ground. Her signature attack, the Quake Strike.
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran was already on his way to avoiding it when she came down. Unfortunately... that was a lot of area to cover. He lifted his arms to shield himself, but he wasn't able to dampen the blow fully. Rocks and stage debris slammed into him and sent him hurtling back. This time he landed on the ground, on his back. Skidding a few feet.

The crowd cheered! He was out, he was done, he was... slowly... getting back up. He was panting and there was a little blood on his arms, but he was still moving. "I was right. You're extremely powerful." He lookied over. Fortunately, he'd landed by his sword. Or maybe he'd planned it. Or maybe it was just fate.

Either way, the crowd was dying down again, as they waited for the next blow. He aimed the blade at her, gripping it in both hands. This would end soon, he knew it. He didn't have much more and her blows, while not hitting him, were grazing him. He didn't have the protections like she did, either. Well, he had some. but nothing like hers. Fighting someone stronger, faster and more durable than him wasn't the funnest thing ever.

He raced back at her, none the less. He swung his sword down and, assuming she blocked it, he'd smile. "Heed they call! Thunder god, come forth!" His sword would alight with lightning, the blade acting as a wand as he tried to send it arching at her.

Unfortunately, when he did it, he locked his legs. It'd slow him down, just a bit. He had to steady himself to ready that blast, and that meant when her counter attack came, he'd likely move just a hair too slow... and considering how narrowly he'd been avoiding her strikes so far...
Yang Xiao Long     Yang is predictable. It's a failing, but she's built tanky enough that it hasn't caused any major issues just yet.

CLANG, rings the sword against crossed gauntlets.

BZZZZZT goes the electricity, skittilating across her Aura, this time finding purchace in her skin on occasion, making her shudder and howl as the energy surges through her.

And then the lightning strike ends.

There's a few moments, as the blonde stands there, smoke rising from where her clothes have singed from the electric assault. And then she opens her eyes, leveling them at Syaoran.

Those baleful red eyes that not a few hours earlier, where staring down black, soulless monsters spawned from some dark abyss. Now they're locked firmly on the boy before her... but instead of finishing the fight, she steps back, drops to a knee and says. "I yield."
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran blinked a few times, slowly pulling his blade back and sheathing it. The crowd erupted and he stared at her. She was hurt, there was no doubt about that.

But she wasn't hurt enough. He looked... confused. Slightly confused. Then sighed. "You're holding back, aren't you?" he asked, before holding out his hand to her to help her back up. "I cannot deny. Your power is incredible. The magic you use is quite different from the magic I have back home. We use spells, but your magic seems to be... focused into your very being. It makes you quite the threat. It will be an honor fighting besides you on the battlefield."

He then paused. "Though, I suppose it already has." At least he was a good winner. A LOUSY loser, though.
Yang Xiao Long     Yang looked up as he spoke, then stood when the hand was offered. Her Semblance, unsustained by the thrill of battle and more damage, is beginning to fade, quite rapidly. Her eyes returning to lilac, the aura about her body fading away, and her hair returning to being just hair, not a conflagration of golden embers. "I don't know how much you can take, force-wise... other Hunters, they have Aura, I can feel how much they have left, and we have devices for measuring the level of Auric Capacity remaining.... it's easy to tell when someone can take a punch, or not... people like you, the Extraversals.. you don't have Aura like we do, so it's harder to tell just how much you can take." she explains, rubbing the back of her head. "I didn't want to break you, cuz then your girlfriend would be mad at me."
Li Syaoran Li Syaoran gave a nod. "I'm a lot more durable than I look, I assure you. Magic surges through my veins just as it does yours, it just doens't... quite protect me as well. But i do appreciate your concern. However, if I wasn't sure I could take a blow from you, I would have conceded." Okay, that wa probably a lie. He was wayyyy too over confident.

"But then, perhaps I underestimate you. In our next fight, maybe you can show me more of what you're capable of. I believe you'll make an excellent sparing partner. And, who knows? Maybe with time I can learn to pick up this... aura ability of yours. Or at least something similar. I know there are wizards who have managed to protect themselves using magic. The shield may be under the sun, but that doesn't mean I can't learn it."
