Annie Sandberg Annie had lived through many events that would upset a human. Each time, she'd quickly bounced back and returned to her cheerful self. But this time was different. Hearing of Yunomi's death had stunned her deeply. Yunomi was one of her heroes, and she'd heard that she was in trouble, and both her friends and enemies were looking for her. Annie could have helped, but... she didn't. She couldn't. It was too big for her... but at the same time, it wasn't. She had to do something, but she also couldn't. Somewhere, her thinking had gone wrong, and now it was too late.

"...what am I even for anymore?" she asked herself as she walked the city streets alone. "I'm an android... and a kid. Androids... do things, they help people. Kids... don't do the things adults do, they stay safe and protected. What should I do? Who should I be?" The dilemma had been occupying her for the past week, and wasn't any closer to its conclusion.

She stopped in front of a Shinki shop, staring in through the window. She was once set out as merchandise in a store like this herself, she thought, though she obviously didn't remember it. She'd grown so much since then, so why... why did she still feel like there was so much she couldn't do?
Fuki     Coming out of that Shinki Shop is an unfamiliar person... silent and holding a bag full of shinki-stuff inside of it. Upon his shoulder sits a black-armored Shinki.. "Master, thank you." she smiled, "I've wanted that outfit for a long while." the Master gives a grin, patting the Shinki's head gently... "Maybe it's time for us to retire from the Confederacy, huh?" she questions the Master, it gets a curious look from him, "I mean... we haven't done much, have we?"

Fuki blinks a bit, looking down at Annie, tilting her head... "Are... you... who I think you are?" she questions, looking at her Master with a curious grin. "Well, come with us, I think we can help a few things, don't you worry..." she grins, "Master, perhaps it's time to give her an 'upgrade', uh?"
Annie Sandberg Annie had been shutting out much of the outside world in her contemplations, so she was surprised to find herself addressed by the Shinki. "...huh?" she questioned, looking between Fuki and the man she was with. "N...no thank you," she said, seeming scared. "If anyone's going to do that it's Mommy." She wasn't about to trust an offer of an upgrade that came from out of the blue, no matter who it came from. Recognizing Fuki just made it worse. She backed away.
Fuki     Kourin gives a brief nod, looking around while Fuki hops off, floating in front of Annie.. Each step back away from the ninja has Fuki floating forward at the same pace. "Look, I'm just here to help you out. Mommy can't help you with what you want..." she smiled, it was a strange smile, one that presented itself as friendly. In fact, Fuki didn't even have her scythe out! "I don't take no for an answer, you know." Kourin pulls out a small handheld device and starts tapping away at it...

"We can do this easily... or I can just try and remotely hack that fundroid self of yours. You probably don't even have security software installed... such a defective model. After all..." she grins, "You're going to be nowhere near as good as me with the way you are now... you probably wouldn't even hit me if I hurt you, wouldn't you?!" she laughs slightly and picks up her floating pace... "C'mon, it'll be easy. I'll leave you /mostly/ intact."
Annie Sandberg "You... you can't do anything to me," Annie said, though she didn't really sound sure. "Someone tried before and it didn't work. Please... just let me go. I want to go home!" She reached into the pocket of her overall-dress for her radio, planning to call for help. She'd turned it off earlier, though she now wished she hadn't...
Fuki     "I can. And I will. See, you're just a broken toy, a broken little girl of a doll. I'm here to fix it." Fuki eyes the radio that is coming out and she takes a few shuriken from a flash of light and launches it at the radio before following along with her own body, zooming towards the fundroid. "We're both dolls... there for our Masters and Mistresses." she states, "A doll that can't be modified is useless. A doll that can't be updated is useless." she smiles, "Follow me?"

She floats around and around Annie, orbiting her, "See, you're useless as you are now. Refusing help when offered, wanting to stay a USELESS little shell of a doll. YOu can be... so.. much ... MORE with my Master's help." she grins, slipping on that fox mask of hers, "I'm only wanting to /help/. As one animatronic doll to another. I'll give you one last chance to come... willingly... Or Master shall do this forcibly."
Annie Sandberg The radio is shuriken'd out of Annie's hand. She was left alone, staring at Fuki, her words cutting deep. "I... I'm not..." She shut her eyes tight, trying to call on the power she'd gained from her father Magus- but once more, she couldn't bring it forth. Had the parts really fallen into disrepair from lack of use, or was it that Magus had grown too distant? She even tried her mother's power... but once again, nothing. "...useless," she said, sounding defeated, staring down at her black buckled shoes. The power button at the base of her neck was now a bit more visible- it could be a tempting target for the Shinki, but at this point Annie wasn't thinking to protect it.
Fuki     Fuki hovers around, still helicoptering over Annie, that power button is noticed and it's true, it's a tempting target... but... "Such a sad state you're in." she turns to Kourin and nods, "We'll make you better, Annie." she takes one more loop around the Fundroid and nods. With a swift kick, she smacks that power button to try and turn off the fundroid... only to have Kourin pick up Annie after the fact and walk away. "Sorry, maintenance issues with this, we're taking care of it." Fuki called out to those who looked, "Master's a good person. He'll fix her."
Annie Sandberg Annie falls to the ground, what light remaining in her eyes fading quickly as she's deactivated. Kourin will find her surprisingly not much heavier than a human of similar size; her materials are quite lightweight, yet strong. He will easily be able to carry her wherever he wishes.
Fuki     Kourin easily picks up the deactivated droid and wanders off to a small cafe... it's here that Fuki sits ontop of Annie's head as her Master goes to work, concentrating to allow the connection to succeed and to start reprogramming this useless thing into something more... worthwhile. "Okay, delete any of her programming that's holding back her survival functions... add some programming here and there... remove that driver. Add this... add that... remove that."

Fuki's Master shakes his head.. and on a text to speech device, I know what you're trying to do, Fuki. Let's just take it easy.. we'll do some more work on her later, for now, we're just gonna alter a few things... and then turn her back on. Fuki sighs a bit, "But I wanted her to be ruthless...." I know... I know. Just bear with me, just a few more bits here and there... and... there, we can turn her on now. It's here that Fuki hops off her head and kicks that power button once more...
Annie Sandberg Kourin would find something strange in his attempts to alter Annie's programming. While the security was actually fairly good, there was a weak point of sorts- an extra program that didn't seem to be part of the original plans. His logs could determine that it had been inserted later than the rest of the base program. It seemed to have been meant to overwrite portions of Annie's core programming- but it was unable to do so, and was instead merely attached to it- almost like a virus sitting on a biological cell, that was unable to break through and replicate itself. Still, it had a limited amount of success in weakening the security around Annie's more instinctive functions, which would provide an opening for Kourin to make some changes there, even if he might not have been able to alter her higher thought processes just yet.

At the kick to her power button, Annie opens her eyes, turning to stare towards Kourin. "What... happened?" she asks groggily, trying to place her surroundings. A... cafe?
Fuki     It was a bit harder than he thought but what's done is done, right? Fuki grins to the waking Fundroid, "Oh, just modified some of your software... you're free to go, that's all." she smiles brightly "Master couldn't get past /some/ things, but it's okay, we got to a few things we wanted... now, you're welcome to go back to the Union or whatever it is you do." she grins a bit wicked now, "Oh, and... it'll be our little secret, kay?"
