Owner Pose
Princess Luna      Late afternoon on the Beach City Boardwalk. There aren't a lot of businesses here, but there are enough. A few restaurants, an arcade, and a donut shop. That's really all there is. But, there might be a bit more bustle today as people are drawn out to stare at a tall winged unicorn woman. She looks out of place in the daylight, since her soft blue coloration and ethereal mane and tail give her a definite look of nighttime, as does her midnight blue dress. Her mane and tail even look like they have stars in them, twinkling lightly as they flow gently in the breeze.

The blue pony woman isn't actually in any of the shops right now. She is instead just sitting on the dock, gazing out over the ocean. It is lovely, especially with the sun starting to set.
Golden Topaz A blue alicorn woman? This Golden Topaz has to see. He's seen cyborgs, an anthropomorphic unicorn form an obviously magic-focused world, and a gem-human hybrid, but this was something new in town, so his curiosity would not be sated until he saw her. He runs along the rooftops of the shops, jumping from roof to roof, sometimes across significant distances, all with ease, until he leaps off one closer to the edge of the pier, where he tucks and rolls and ends up looking out at the sunset himself. He turns his head to look at her, lifting up his goggles for his amber eyes to see her better. "Huh.. not what i was expecting..." He mumbles to himself, looking the woman over with interest, even as he himself is an oddity, being a male-presenting gem.
Princess Luna      Luna's ears perk as Golden Topaz approaches, and she turns her head to look at him before offering a kind smile. "Salutations." she says, raising a well-manicured hand to wave and apparently missing his mumbled comment. "Does this dock belong to thee? I apologize if I am tresspassing in some way. It simply seemed the best spot from which to gaze at the ocean." she says, her tail giving a small swish as she speaks. After looking Topaz over a bit, she hmms. "Thou art oddly colored for a human. Art thou perhaps one of the creatures known as a gem?"
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz blinks at the old English, then smiles and nods. "That I am, m'lady. And no, this gem belongs to the people, not myself. I did not expect to meet someone of your form and stature here, on this eve." He offers a small bow and his hand, and would kiss her hand should she take his. "Golden Topaz, at your service, ma'am. What shall i call you, aside from m'lady?" He doesn't quite like using Old English and keeps it more focused on the chivalry oft used in the time such a thing would be spoken.
Princess Luna      The strange woman actually seems surprised at the way Golden Topaz talks to her. In the good way. She smiles brightly and holds out her hand for him to kiss. She also seems confused a moment when he says that the gem belongs to the people. Is he some sort of slave? But then, she realizes he is probably talking about the dock.

When asked for her name, she smiles again. "I am Princess Luna of Equestria, but thou art welcome to call me simply Luna. A title means little outside of one's home world." she says, then looks out over the water again. "I was starting to think that gems came only in female forms. Although, I suppose gender is of little importance to a race that does not procreate in the way most organic species do."
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz smiles warmly to her and nods. "Princess Luna, if I may, I feel I must disagree. I believe titles should be respected, regardless of what they are from and where those they belong to are at the moment. It signifies true importance and power, and even outside of the home world that should be recognized." He relaxes a bit against a bit of railing on the dock. "In truth, most do accept female forms. But that comes to my second disagreement. I believe that gender has a major role in one's identity, accepting who they are. Just because one might be born a male, doesn't mean they aren't actually a woman. And vice versa.. I believed myself to be male upon seeing the binary gender structure of human society, and realized that.. well, I did not belong as a woman. So, I stopped lying to myself and reformed myself to be male, for I am a man. Other gems embrace their beauty as women, and still others accept they are more fluid in their beliefs of themselves. I found that I was, in fact, a man. It doesn't define us.. but it plays its role, even without the more... carnal, reproduction of other species."
Princess Luna      Luna listens to all of that, then hmms. "I suppose thou art correct, but then does that mean that thou art a follower of the doctrine that males and females cannot be equals? Or that there are things that one gender is allowed to do that the other is not? It is true that gender plays an integral roll in how one relates to another or is perceived by others, but it is more important how one sees oneself."

Luna smiles gently after that. "If thy desired form is male, then I shall respect that. But, if thy changed thy gender simply to be more accepted by others or because of thy own beliefs of what a male or female should be, then thou art not being true to thyself. Among my people, it is of the utmost importance to be true to thyself."

Luna pauses there, then blushes lightly. "Ah...perhaps I have said too much. My opinions on thy choice of gender is of little importance. If thou art happy, then thou hast made the right choice." she says, looking down and holding her hands in her lap.
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz shakes his head. "I coudl not care less what people think of me. The form change was for my own comfort, for me to feel as I believe I should have felt from the beginning." He smiles wider. "This form is me being true to myself. I am of the opinion that if someone is not okay with their gender, or their body, they should be free to do what they must to become comfortable, to change what they wish to change and be accepted for who they are, not what society has chosen for them." He chuckles a bit. "Your society sounds much more accepting than some human society.. perhaps I shall visit it one day, though I would find it hard ot tear myself away from here.. I love humanity, with all of its flaws, too much."
Princess Luna      Luna nods lightly, seeming relieved that she caused no offense with her words. She smiles again as she listens, then hmms. "But, who we are and who we wish to be are not always the same. If we change ourselves every time we are feeling uncomfortable, then soon we are no longer ourselves. We would become actors, with no depth of our own. It is one thing to be comfortable. It is another to change simply to avoid a difficult or uncomfortable situation."

Luna lowers her head slightly, gazing down at the water right in front of her. "...perhaps I care too much about what others think." she says, her gaze and voice gaining a distant quality, like she is thinking about something from her past. She shakes her head, then looks over at Topaz again. "Our society is...well, I suppose it might depend on who thy encountered upon reaching Equestria. We teach love and tolerance for all, but it is much easier to present than to ensure. There will always be distrust, paranoia, and some level of xenophobia. It is natural. The unknown is often dangerous. But, on the whole, the ponies of Equestria are accepting of all types." She pauses a moment, then huffs. "Except of course criminals and other miscreants."
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz shrugs. "I'm not saying we shoudl always change. But if a big change is necessary for us to truly be ourselves, we should not be afraid to take it." He tilts his head when she grows distant. "Well, being royalty, that's to be expected. Appearances are everything in the eyes of your subjects. You have to be careful what you do, or else you could lose them to your enemies, be they domestic or abroad. And I find that is the constant when it comes ot societies.. to say one thing, but then it is hard to live up to it. What is important, I find, is that there are those who try."
Princess Luna      Luna gains a slightly cynical smile at the talk of appearances. "Quite true. On both counts." she says, then sighs softly before leaning forward a bit, her hands braced on the edge of the dock. "It took quite a while to regain my people's trust after my..." She blinks, then looks away. "...anyway, what is life like on this world? This place at least seems rather idyllic. Is it typical of this world? Or is it like my world, where our country is the only one which strives for tolerance and understanding for all?"
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz quirks an eyebrow at the stop mid-sentence before he just smiles a bit. "Well, this place is idyllic, at least... Beach City, United State of America. There are other countries with their own agendas, but peace is generally the accepted goal for all. Some have societies with more centralized beliefs, ones that are less likely to change.. and others, like America, struggle between new and old beliefs on religion, society... but, the people of this country try to do what is right, above all."
Princess Luna      Luna nods lightly as she listens, then stands and stretches her arms over her head. "Art thou hungry? Although I understand most human meals contain a generous portion of meat, I am certain they will have something vegitarian with which I can satisfy my hunger." she says, looking toward the shops before back at Topaz. "The one called Lapis cooked for me last time I visited. She still requires a bit of practice, but it was quite good for someone whom I suspect is new to cooking."
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz chuckles and stands by rolling back and then pushing his body up with his hands, completely straight before his legs come down slowly to have him standing before his royal guest. "Gems don't actually need to eat, but I could go for some food.. I do know how to cook quite alot, as I've had a little over 5000 years to learn. I would be honored to cook some things for you, Princess Luna, and I will assure you none of it will have meat."
Princess Luna      Princess Luna blinks in surprise at the display, then smiles cheerfully at the offer. "I would not wish to impose upon thee. I shall simply purchase something from the nearby shops." she says, then starts back toward the boardwalk, her hooves clopping on the wooden boards like high-heels and similarly on the pavement when they reach the shore. "Let us see...Fish Stew Pizza...?" She shivers just at the name of it. "...Beach Citywalk Fries. I suppose that would work. Do they serve only fries?" she asks Topaz.
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz shrugs and nods. "Very well, Princess Luna. And you would not impose. If I offer, it's not imposing. I will however insist that you at least come to the house for dessert. I've prepared an old, old recipe from my time in Austria, and I would love to have someone to share it with." He walks with her, keeping up with her pac,e though his footsteps seem to make no noise at all. He looks at the fries stand and smiles. "The name would imply that it is their mainstay... I've heard young Steven likes to go near the end of the day to get the fried bits left over from the friers."
Princess Luna      Luna raises an eyebrow in interest at the dessert offer. "I would be honored to enjoy thy specially prepared dessert. Did you somehow know of my arrival?" she says, smiling a bit. "Steven. He is the owner of the small wooden house tucked into the embrace of that stone statue on the beach?" she says as she approaches the fry shop. She smiles to the worker there, then orders two large fries with plenty of ketchup and mustard on the side. "Gems do not need to eat. I believe I heard that before. If I may ask, where dost thou get thy energy?"
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz chuckles and shakes his head. "No, I'm afraid the premonitions come only to Garnet. I simply wanted to make the recipe, as it's been nearly 25 years since I last made it. ANd yes, that's Steven's house. I'm.. not actually sure if he owns it, or if it was constructed by the gems upon their arrival here, but it's where he stays with the others." He looks to her, seeming to approve of her order.

"Sleep, generally. We need not breath, eat, or drink, as our bodies do not have organic systems that require sustenance. We only need sleep to allow our minds time to rest from the day's work, and from keeping our forms stable."
Princess Luna      Luna seems skeptical that sleep is all gems require, but then again she is a rather magical creature herself, so she just takes Topaz's word for it. After the order is made she starts back toward Steven's house, eating as she goes and handing one of the orders to Topaz. "Garnet. I do not believe I have met her...him?" she says, then giggles a bit. "I should return to my world soon. I must get the moon into its proper position before any damage is done."
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz chuckles and takes an order, munching away as he walks. "Her. I do believe I'm the only gem that presents as a male.. save Steven, but he's a particular case." When they get to the house, he opens the door for her to walk through, then immediately heads to the kitchen, opening the fridge to pull out a large pan with what looks to be a very thick white cream inside of it. He turns on the oven and slides it onto one of the racks, before he rushes to begin pulling out strawberries and vanilla bean, oranges and lemons. "Well, then I will be sure to make this quick, Princess Luna. The dessert is largely prepared, just need to give the main part of it time to bake and to create the compote." He turns the stovetop on and tosses in the strawberries and vanilla bean, flicking his elbow up and catching the small knife sent flipping out of his gem, cutting the lemons and oranges and quickly juicing them, before adding the juices and a bit of sugar to the pan, stirring the contents around, slowly creating a reduction of all the fruits and juices together, a sweet, thin glaze.
Princess Luna      Luna smiles a thank you to Topaz as he holds open the door for her, then takes a seat on the couch and watches Topaz as he works. "If you do not mind me asking, how do the other gems feel about thy form? Are they judgemental at all?" she asks, then quickly adds. "If thou dost not wish to discuss it, that is alright." She resumes eating her condiment-covered fries. But, rather than picking them up, her horn glows a soft blue and they simply float into her mouth one by one.
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz watches her use her magic and tilts his head, then smiles and returns his focus to his work, stirring the compote as it cooks. "Not at all. Some were shocked, of course.. not many would have expected to see a gem in a form like mine. But, they're all supportive, just happy that I am honest with who I am and what I wish to represent myself as."

Soon the oven is opened and he pulls the pan out, what was at one point looking to be nothing but cream risen to be an extremely light almost-pastry. He spoons out two decent-sized portions, placing them on seperate plates before he showers the compote over them, leaving plenty for seconds or leftovers for the others. He brings the plates over with silverware and sets them down. "And here we are. A personal favorite of mine, Kaiserschmarren." He allows his royal guest to try it first when she's ready, the cream so light as the simple but sweet compote adds to the flavor of the cream and the sugar.
Princess Luna      Luna watches Topaz in turn, her eyes open wide in interest as he works those fruits and other things into the compote and spoons up the pastry. She goes through her fries pretty quickly, and so when the dessert is ready she is free to take it. "It looks delicious. I am afraid I have never learned much in the way of cooking. There always seems to be someone cooking for me." she says, giggling a bit. "The curse of being a royal, I suppose."

Despite being able to apparently levitate things, Luna still uses the silverware, levitating it and using it with as much dexterity as if she were holding it in her hand. She takes a bite...and looks like she might melt herself. "Oh goodness...it -is- delicious!" she coos happily, then giggles. "And rather decadent. My sister and I try to limit our intake of such foods. But, it is nice to enjoy such a dessert every now and then." she says, smiling happily.
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz chuckles and nods. "Indeed... I lived with royalty for a while, several h7ndred years ago. The kitchen staff alone took up a large house." He chuckles and takes a bite of his own portion, letting off a little happy sound. "I'd be happy to teach you a bit, should you ever get the urge to cook for yourself. I am quite happy you enjoy it." He takes another bite with a big strawberry in it. "This is actually a lighter take on the dish. Other takes use much denser, more decadent pastry. I figure that, though it's nice to enjoy once in a while, one should also be able to have a lighter option if it is just as good."
Princess Luna      Luna takes another bite, her horn still glowing as she uses her magic to levitate the fork, and lets out a pleased 'mmmm~mm' before nodding. "If I have time to devote to such studies, I shall. Although I will likely never use it, it just seems like one should be able to cook. It is an art form, and arts enrich our lives." she says. She finishes off her portion after that, then stands and curtseys politely. "Thank thee for a pleasant time and for thy wonderful dessert, Golden Topaz. But, I am afraid I must return home. I am already a bit late for raising the moon as it is."
Golden Topaz Golden Topaz nods slowly. "If nothing else, it's something to brag about. Or to do if you really crave something specific and the other staff is too busy with a different order." When his own portion is finished around the same time, he smiles and stands. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Princess Luna. I do hope you'll visit again, I would love to spend time with you again." He shows her out and opens the door for her again, smiling.
