Owner Pose
Rarity The 'First Snow' had not yet been schedualed for Ponyville, so there was still plenty of time for one to get their decorations up. Ever seen a pony use a ladder? Well now.... is not the time, as Rarity is just using her magic to hang tinsel wrapped light strings along the edges of the Boutique's awnings.

Not to mention Rainbow Dash is away to some Wonderbolts convention or such nonsense. Best to do this when she doesn't have to dodge random mini-snowstorms from the prankster pegasus.
Star Caster     The lack of snow was not as confusing to Star Caster as it was the fact that today the portal didn't drop him on a beach! ... How curious! Instead, it dropped him on the outskirts of a village that looked closer to home than that Beach City place had- at least until he starts walking into town and finds himself actually looking at... ponies. Talking ponies, that walk on their (hands and feet?!) and... and... And suddenly he's wondering if he's been sent BACK TO THE FUTURE or something. The boy walks his way down the main street of ponyville, spinning in an occasional slow circle to look at everything, his hooves chiming like small bells on the soft dirt, or louder ones on the occasional stone walkway. He was BAFFLED... but also DELIGHTED! He grinned broadly to himself as he turned, and then stops in surprise as he finds himself staring at Rarity working her magic over the Boutique. Whoooa.

"... Moon is NEVER going to believe this," he says to himself as he ends up coming closer, crossing his arms a bit, and staring from behind the Fashionista as he watches her, his head tilting slightly.
After a moment, he clears his throat politely.
"Ah.. M'Lady? Uhm. What are you... doing?"
Rarity The light blue shimmer of magic tugs a holiday stocking cap out of the box sitting next to the door, floating it front of Rarity as she makes sure none of the steams are coming undone. Then lifts it up towards the carousel pony sign. Tip of her tongue sticks cutely out of the corner of her mouth as the unicorn focuses on getting it just riiiight...

And the 'achem' from behind causes her to lose that focus, and the hat flops on the head of the sign haphazardly, ball-tuffed end flumping down over the face. "Tch." A little magic tug pulls the hat back up and flips the end the other way properly. "There." With that fixed she turns around. "Can I help you?..." Pause, followed by a bit of a head tilt. ".. As you do not appear to be from around here." Though this in itself is hardly a strange occurrance these days.
Staren     Staren happens to be walking by! For once, he's in pony form again -- while he used to use it almost always in Equestria, over the past year he's used it much less -- and looks lost in thought as he walks down the street. A white unicorn stallion with a brown mane and tail, most of his body is covered by a white cloak at the moment. He snaps out of his thoughts as he hears a voice, and sees Rarity putting up decorations. "Huh. I just realized, I kind of miss out on the decorating since I live in a spaceship... I should help Twilight with hers!" Musing complete, he takes a moment to catch up on the last few seconds, offering a friendly nod of greeting to Rarity before turning to Star Caster. "Did /another/ Equestria show up? That's what, seven now? Err, I mean, hi, my name is Staren!" He approaches and holds out a hoof.
Star Caster     Star is still looking up at the carosel's now decorated pony as he answers, ".. Strange hobby," to himself, then returns to smile at Rarity. "Oh! Uhm, Yes, M'aam, I was just wondering what you're donig with the.. hat, on the, ah, mare, up there?" he asks, gesturing to the boutique's sign. "I mean, it seems, uh. Cheery! But I have, never seen someone dressing up a sign!" .. And she's probably never seen a human-unicorn.
And then Staren arrives, and Star whirls, staring at him in surprise a moment before he murmurs, "Eques.. tria?" To himself in thought. He shakes his head. "Ah, hello, Sir!" Star takes the hoof in hand politely! and gives a shake. "I am Sir Star Caster, of Lunaria, at your service." he greets them both, then, turning to smile and toss in a proper bow to Rarity and Staren both! Before he stands up again, and then says, "I admit I may be a bit lost, I thought I would wind up in the Beach City place again when I took the portal this time," he grins nervously.

Never mind that a 15 year old boy has just announced himself as a knight. "I am on... I would not call it a mission? But, the Queen told me to see just how many places I could find through the portal." He pauses, then, asides his hand in a softer voice: "I think she's just trying to get me out of the Palace because it's almost my Naming Day and people are trying to hide my gifts."
Rarity "Staren!" Rarity gives the other less vibrantly colored unicorn a scolding look. "It's rude to presume that just because a new arrival has an equine resembling attributes they are from an 'alternate' Equestria. We are not the only ones that have horse-like races, you know." That said, she turns and returns the bow with her own. "A knight of a new land? Marveleous! I am Rarity, the resident... seamstress." She figures 'fashionista' is not going to have much meaning to the visitor.

Now where was she.. oh, right. She hooks the box with a hoof and tugs it closer. "I am decorating for the holiday, of course."

A dour "mew" emits from the box as Opal sits up, giving everyone present a grumpy cat looks could kill look. Probably over the tacky holiday pet-sweater she's been made to wear. That sole 'mew' carries all the levity as 'one word and I shred your drapery' would.
Staren     Staren's slightly flustered from Rarity's comment. "But... like... there's at least six Equestrias and I've only ever seen one anthropomorphic equine that wasn't from one, and he was a reploid..." He's not firm in his disagreement though, it's more like his reflex is to explain himself.

"Beach City?" Staren looks to Star Caster again. "You must have taken quite a different turn to get here... You can get to quite a lot of places through the gates, but what is Naming Day and why do you have to hide your gift?"
Star Caster     "A holiday? Oh jolly good! I do love festivities! Is it a religious holiday, with pomp and ceremony, or a feasting holiday, where we're allowed to drink mead and get simply stonking drunk and sing loudly until Nan comes and drags us home by the ear?" Star asks, giddly, grinning as he looks about hastily, and then approaches the box. "Might I aid you, M'lady, good sir?" he asks, as reaches for the box, then stops, and peers at poor Opal. "Ah. Are you aware your familiar seems to have ... stowed away in your festivites cache, Madam?" he asks, peering at the persian cat, before he carefully reaching in to try and give the grumpy puss a scritch about the ears.

He uhms, wether drawing hand away (harmed or not by kitty claws), then ohs! At Staren. "Well, Dragon Magic is quite ... unstable. So it can change from day to day or even hour to hour. OUr Dragon Mage is very good, however, so there SHOULD be no harm in it, yes?" he grins. Then ohs! "Well! A naming day is the day you are given your name! It is usually a month or so after you are born, and it is celebrated every year as an honor. People hide *my* gifts because I ah... Have.. a.. knack, yes! At finding them. Mmhmm." Star is that kid who will hunt through every closet in the house for a present *weeks* in advance of Christmas, yup. "Completely by accident, I assure you." He grins!

His lion-like tail sweeps slightly, and then he hms! "Yes, a fellow named Golden Topaz told me there are a very many worlds out there!" he grins. "I am excited to explore them all, and find out what music, and food, and drink there is!" He hms! And then looks to Rarity. "You, a seamstress?" he looks the Boutique over. "Goodness, I wouldn't call this so simple a thing as that. From what I can see in the window, you are as skilled as some of the Dragons of the Eastern lands."
Rarity Rarity quickly grabs Star Caster's arm with a hoof and lightly pushes it aside. "As darling as she is, Opal does not take kindly to strangers." There's no scratching thanks to her intervention, though the cat does hold up a forepaw and briefly 'shnk' out her claws. Without changing her otherwise dour expression.

"It is..." Coiled bangs bob a little as Rarity tips her head thoughtfully, "... I guess you could say it is both, seeing as there is definately plenty of -that- unruly nonsense also going on." Opal just gives Star a glower before hunching back down into the box with a slow 'watching you' pace. Cats. Oi. "Hearthswarming Eve celebrates the founding of Equestria as it exists today, after fending off a terrible Windego storm with the warmth of compassion and comradere."

Then brushes a hoof less than modestly to her chest as if buffing nails. Probably still buffing for a hoof. But considering you can't really distinguish hoof from limb on most Equestria ponies.... "Well Seamstress is a very... casual means of reference. I did not want to bewilder a new arrival with exceptional terminology."
Staren     "Uhhh..." Staren looks to Rarity, not sure how to answer this question of what type of holiday it is. Then back to Star. "Dragon magic? What does that have to do with it? And... ah, I see! ...Golden Topaz and Star Caster. Sure /sounds/ like the same naming convention... And she designs fashions and stuff."
Star Caster     "Oh! So it is like Goddess's Watch in my world," Star muses, thoughtfully, rubbing his chin. He eyes Opal warily- and makes a note not to touch her if he can avoid it, though, of course, he is curious and wants to touch what he probably shouldn't. "That is, that is the only night of the year when the sun does not rise, and the Goddess's Eye - a constellation in the sky - is the brightest," he says, with a knowing nod. "That is coming soon to Lunaria. I was surprised not to see snow here when I arrived, but I was also surprised it was not a beach." he grins cheesily.
Straightening up proudly, he says, "I was born shortly before Goddess's Watch and that's why I was born with her blessing on my temple." he says, gesturing to the brilliant blue star marking below his horn. "Some people have said it means I'm destined for geatness, but honestly, I just wish to do my duty, protecting the Queen. This year was supposed to be Queen White Snow's last year as Queen, you know? But then the Dragons discovered the Portal Magic, and I found the Beach City world, and now Queen White Snow is putting off the crowning of Princess Flowers in Rain until after we figure out what this new world will mean for Lunaria."
Rarity Well they certainly have naming conventions similar to Equestria.

"Being born close to such a celebrated time could certainly lead to such ideas." Rarity picks Opal out of the box -- using her magic rather than by hoof mind you -- and closes it up. "But what they prove to be true or not is up to you, is it not?" She sets Opal back down on top of the box.

Who being a cat immeadiately starts trying to claw it back open.
Staren     Staren ohs. He doesn't comment about astrology. "There are actually a lot of 'new worlds'. Too many to count, not just beach City or Equestria. What it means... well, it can mean a lot of things. These worlds have people and resources, each with their own plans and desires."
