Lunara Returning from a refreshing trip to the Oceanic Ruins, Lunara has a spring in her step and a faint ocean scent hanging around her like a natural perfume. It's a comfortably cool fall day, but as usual Lunara isn't wearing much in the way of clothing, though after a day at the beach, one might cut her a little slack. Still, the dryad is likely to catch a few stares as she makes her way through Urbania proper.

She is still a little unnerved to be making her way through such a massive mega-city with all it's impossibly unnatural structures, but as much of the Multiverse has cities like this, she is trying her best get used to such places. As it happens, her path does take her near the mall and when it comes into view, she stops suddenly and her eyes nearly jump from their sockets as she stares aghast at the massive shopping center.
Athela Valemore Athela Valemore likewise has been grappling with the tremendous size of cities in the Multiverse, and how sole buildings can make entire fortresses look tiny in comparison. By some stroke of events she also near the mall, looking between the expansive building itself, and the pamplet she was given at some point. "... It does not look nearly as large in the picture."

The Goomy sitting on her shoulder burbles in agreement, then makes a gurgling, almost groaning sound. Which gets a roll of the young woman's eyes. "Of course you are hungry. You are -always- hungry."
Maxine Sandberg Maxine on the other hand has been around the Multiverse for a while so she's not that surprised by the size of buildings in the Multiverse. After all individuals in the Multiverse come in all shapes and sizes after all. It does make it a bit difficult to get around but at least you can find almost anything that you're looking for. Between Black Friday and Cyber Monday she hasn't had a chance to get out much lately but she promised Annie that she would go Christmas shopping with her.
Annie Sandberg Annie had offered to join her mother on a shopping trip to Urbania. If there was something you wanted to buy, this was, after all, the place to be. She's waiting outside for Maxine to arrive, and notes Athela's approach with curiosity, particularly given the creature on her shoulder. Was that a Pokemon? It looked quite different from those she'd seen before, such as Andyquil the Cyndaquil.

As Maxine arrives, Annie walks to meet her with a smile. "Mother," she says. "I'm glad you could make it." Though Annie had begun to be more assertive about her independence, she certainly wanted to take the time to join her mother for something like this.
Lunara Slowly recovering from shock, Lunara hears the voices of a few people nearby and turns to look the pair of women and the young girl, her gaze lingering longest on the armorclad woman. After a moment she slowly walks closer to the trio till she is within range to speak without shouting. "Excuse me, but what in the name of Elune is this impossibly large building for? Is it some sort of enclosed city within a city?"
Athela Valemore Athela Valemore glances back from the pair she can only assume is a mother and child when she hears another voice speaking with the same sort of exasperation at the size she was marveling at. ".. More like a market bazaar rather than city, it would seem." When Lunara walks over she helpfully offers the pamphlet she had been looking it. "Or at least that is what this says it to be."
Maxine Sandberg Maxine is a bit surprised though as sees the dryad/centaur cross woman approach her. She hasn't really seen anyone like that before. It does remind her a bit of the time Annie turned into a centaur. "It's a shopping mall." The scientist quickly gets to the point, "I'm assuming you're not from around here." That would certainly explain her confusion.
Annie Sandberg Annie nods in agreement with Athela's assessment. "Supposedly you can buy just about anything there if you know where to look," she explains. "My mother and I are here for some Christmas shopping," she adds with a smile. "What brings you here? The same thing, maybe?" She speaks much more articulately than one of her apparent age typically would.
Lunara Lunara takes the pamphlet from Athela and looks it over briefly before turning her attention to Maxine and Annie. She quirks an eyebrow and giggles a little at the 'not from around here' remark. "Do I look like I'm from around here?" She questions with a grin, then looks to Annie as she answers the girl's question. "Christmas shopping? Oh right, I think we do have a similar holiday back on Azeroth, but no, I was checking out the oceanic ruins, just kinda stumbled onto this place while trying to get back home. But, I guess I could stick around... I don't have anything better to do."
Athela Valemore This time it's Athela's turn to raise a brow. "Christmas... shopping?" Rubs the side of her head with one hand. "I know there be a few holidays around this time of year for many worlds, but was not aware they involved... shopping..." What a strange thing to be doing for a holiday.
Maxine Sandberg "Well, I'm sure there are nature-focused beings that live in urban settings around here." Maxine puts it as politely as possible, not wanting to step on any hooves. For all Maxine knows Lunara could be some kind of artifical creation. "You're both welcome to join us, my name is Maxine." She didn't want Athela feel that she was being ignored. Plus she could stand to meet more people around here.
Annie Sandberg "I'm Annie," Annie adds, nodding to Athela and Lunara. "It's nice to meet both of you." Looking toward Athela, she attempts to clarify. "Well, the holiday itself isn't about shopping," she begins. "And it's not for a few weeks, anyway. But it's customary where we come from to give gifts to your friends and family on that day. That's what the shopping is for. I suppose we should head inside then."
Lunara Lunara takes a moment to agree with Athela. "It is strange really. At least as far as the holidays I am aware of, most don't exactly involve shopping as much. But where I come from, this time of year we celebrate Winter Veil, which involves friends and family gathering together and having a feast before exchanging gifts. Though even my local version of this sort of holiday isn't traditionally an elven concept, so it's actually a little new to me, well, relativly."

She then reguards Maxine and seems to wonder a moment. "Nature focused and living in an urban setting, I would find that rather odd, but I suppose anything is possible. Anyway, thank you for inviting us to join, and my name is Lunara." For a moment she also ponders Annie's statement and it occurs to her. "Hmm, I don't know that I have anyone to really spend this holiday with or give anything to... But sure, lead the way."
Athela Valemore The redhead gives a short bow to the group. "Athela Valemore.." She stops herself just before going off into her usual introductory shpeel of titles, remembering this is suppose to be casual. ".. Though just Athela is fine. And this is one of my pokemon, Slurry." The Goomy blurbles a response. Following after the two ladies more familiar with this arrangement, she huhs softly at Annie's explaination. "Oh, that does make a little more sense."
Maxine Sandberg Maxine's attention turns towards Athela and what looks to be a slug. She doesn't know much about Pokemon, other than that Annie has one. "I'm not that familar with Pokemon myself, but I'm sure that's more than just a slug. It's also kind of cute I must admit." Well, for what it was at least.

"I'm pretty sure there's nature-based lifeforms created by science around here." She explains as she heads into the mall.
Annie Sandberg "I haven't seen that kind," Annie says. "Is it a... water type?" She took a wild guess, not being an expert. "...So, genetically engineered beings? I guess there probably are," she adds in response to Maxine's suggestion. As they enter the mall, Annie fires up her internal GPS for some navigational assistance. "So... what should we look for? It might be a long trip to get to some of the stores out there, so we'll have to make a good plan."
Lunara Lunara now eyes the Goomy curiously, it didn't look like much, but she'd seen a few Pokemon even in her relativly short time in the Multiverse so far and that they are often more powerful than they seem from appearance alone. "Pokemon are such curious creatures. I'm not sure I really understand them yet, but sometime I would be more than happy to learn more." She comments as she follows the others through the mall, glad for the small rubber pads she has slipped over her hooves which allow her better traction on the smooth floor. "So science can create life now? Not sure I'm comfortable with that concept..." She responds to Maxine and Annie with a bit of an agitated twitch of her tail. "As for what to look for, like I said, I don't really have anyone to shop for, except perhaps myself... Any suggestions?"
Athela Valemore Apparently the confuse amuses the slug-like 'mon, if that blurbling noise was a laugh. Athela just snickers softly. "Most people don't realize it because Goomy knows several Water moves and lives in a swamp, but it's actually a Dragon type." Hard to believe, isn't it? Though it's at least got some aquatic qualities.

Then she pauses, staring up as if trying to gauge the overwhelming size of the building. "... It is slightly scary one practically needs a map to figure out where to go in this structure." She shrugs a little. "I doth not know either."
Maxine Sandberg "Well, I created Annie so I'm guess I'm a bit biased towards being able to do so. I can understand your concern though. Technology can be used both for good as well as evil just like everything else." Maxine's not here for a moral debate but she can understand where Lunara's coming from at least. She also needs to figure out what to get for Annie now that's mentally matured.

"A dragon? That is a bit strange, I wonder why it's classifed as such." That does have her a bit curious now. "What do you like to do in your spare time, Lunara?" That might help give them a few ideas.
Annie Sandberg "Science can do a lot of great things," Annie says. "But it's true that when it comes to creating life, it's hard to beat nature." The best humans seemed to be able to do was to copy or modify what already existed, from what she could tell. "...Like Pokemon for instance. I don't think even my mother would have come up with the idea for a Goomy," she notes with a laugh.
Lunara Lunara blinks at Annie a moment, then looks back at Maxine. "You made her? Wow... I'm not sure what to say." Speaking of dragons though takes her attention and she is glad for the change of subject. "A dragon Pokemon? How interesting, doesn't look like any dragon I've ever seen. You are right though Annie, nature really does create an incredible variety of life that is sometimes beyond what we can imagine."
Athela Valemore Athela Valemore shrugs her shoulders a little, armor creaking slightly with the gesture. "Certainly there is a reason for it, but that would not be my area of knowledge." Slurry gurgles loudly, still amused at the attention he's getting. Even if its mostly in confusion. "So, my fair maidens, any decision on where we shall pursue this ... shopping tradition of yours?" That sounds like the best way to word it, to her at least.
Maxine Sandberg Maxine looks a bit surprised as Athela calls her a maiden, "No need for formalities, I'm just a scientist and I don't think most dragons would care for the weather in Maine. It can get pretty wet, but also cold." She doesn't think it would be the most comfortable habitat for a Goomy. "I think Annie was interested in getting some new clothes, I suppose I could use a new lab coat. I'm not really the type to dress up."
Annie Sandberg "Yes, clothes would be a good place to start," Annie says. "Not only for ourselves, but perhaps as gifts too." She'd have to think of who would benefit the most from getting new clothes for Christmas. "Who knows, we might be able to find something the two of you would like," she adds with a smile to Lunara and Athela.
Lunara "Hmm, I haven't really thought about the weather actually... It's fairly warm year round where I come from, but since I'm sure this is not the case in all parts of the Multiverse, perhaps purchasing some clothes would be a wise choice. I wouldn't want to freeze to death, that would be a very disapointing way to die... So yes, lead the way to where the clothes can be found."
Athela Valemore "The dampness would not be a bother, Goomy are native to swamps in Bayern." Athela pauses, hmming softly. "The cold, on the other hand." The slug-like 'dragon' ripples in a way that would suggest shivering at the thought. At then Lunara mentions freezing to death no less, which ends with him going to hide in the hood of Athela's cloak instead. "Weather protection is good to consider... It is the facination with buying clothing simply because one can rather than a need for it that confuses me."
Maxine Sandberg "I'm not really the persona to ask about fashion, I work in a lab all day. Safety is much more important." Maxine doesn't really keep up on the latest trends. Of course only in the multiverse could you find a clothing store with armor, young woman's clothing, safety gear, and outfits for those who are quadrupedal in the same place.
Annie Sandberg "Well, there are plenty of clothing stores," Annie says as she looks up the information. "I guess for me, I should be looking for something more mature, to go along with my new self. But on the other hand, I'll still need to look like a human child on occasion... Tomorrow, for instance, I'm going to that dinosaur park disguised as a regular girl." It would be an interesting balance to strike. Maybe she shouldn't make such a big deal out of how she looks, but... it seemed that an interest in fashion was one thing she'd carried over from her old self.
Lunara "Plenty of stores huh? Well it's nice to have options I guess, but unfortunately like Maxine, I know very little about fashion, basically nothing in my case in fact... I have never even gone shopping for clothes before. Should I get something to just cover my upper half where I need the extra warmpth the most? Or would it be better to have a complete outfit? I've seen clothes on horses before, though it didn't look terribly practical..." Lunara ponders as she continues following the others. At seeing Goomy's reaction to what she said earlier, she gives the creature an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, didn't mean to scare you. None of us are going to be dying of any means today if I have a say in the matter."

Turning back to Annie, she wonders about the talk of a new self. "Did you recently have a birthday or something? I never really did understand why some people seem to feel so much older when they have a birthday when that day hasn't made them any older than any other day in the year. But I haven't really aged in several centuries, so maybe I'm out of touch."
Athela Valemore Only in the Multiverse could such a combination store exist. And conveniently within walking distance of a group that can take advantage of the variety.

Which doesn't really help Athela's confusion any on this concept of 'casual' shopping but hey, it's where they seem to be going to look. "Not to mention the question if you should get pants, or barding?", she remarks to Lunara with a bemused tone. Even if the idea of a horse wearing clothing other than barding or combat gear sounds just as rediculous to her. At least the concept of birthdays she isn't confused about. "Frame of reference. Birthdays are when one looks both back at what's been done, and ahead to what they may yet do. Even if the change is not much, it is one day one tends to be most aware of it."
Maxine Sandberg Maxine gasps a bit as she hears that Lunara is several centuries old, then again the she wasn't exactly human. She looked quite a bit younger than Maxine though. "Well, most humans are lucky to live a century and even they generally aren't in very good shape. I mean we've managed to improve that with technology but even then our bodies can only hold up so long. After several centuries of youth I imagine it wouldn't really matter any more." She decides to let Annie explain what happened to her as she looks over goggles that actually protect the eyes and aren't just cosmetic.
Annie Sandberg "I have some clothes *made* by a horse," Annie says with a laugh. "Well, technically she's a pony. Or rather, a unicorn. Her name's Rarity. You should stop by her boutique if you're ever in Ponyville," she suggests to Lunara. "She'll make things for pretty much anyone." As for whether she'd had a birthday... "...Well, you could say that. It was a bit of an... unfortunate incident. I was forced to recreate my entire personality after losing much of my original programming," she explains. "Before, I would usually act as the child I appear to be, but now it's as if I've grown up inside. I don't mind the change though. It feels more like I'm being myself, rather than having to play that role all the time." The thought crosses her mind that, like Lunara, she'll probably end up living for centuries too, as long as her maintenance is kept up.
Lunara "Is Barding a specific type of clothing?" Lunara asks Athela as she begins browsing some long sleeve tops and also eyes a section of coats and jackets a short distance away, noting that some seemed to go further down than the waist and thus, would probably look rather funny on her. To Maxine she nods. "Yes, we have humans on Azeroth too, and most of the time they don't make it past half a century with how much conflict has been arising as of late and other dangers."

"My kind on the other hand, like the Kaldorei elves, are said to be descendants from a goddess called Elune, though in the case of dryads, we are also descendants of Cenarius, a demigod who appears half elven and half stag. It's a long story, but through certain world events, the Kaldorei have lost their immortality, and now grow old, albeit slowly. Dryads on the other hand, along with our brothers, the keepers of the grove, still retain this gift. I am also the first of the dryads, so let's just say I've been around for a very long time, and hopefully much longer to come."

Finally she turns to Annie, listening as the girl explains, though some of it goes over the dryad's head. "Oh, well I'm not sure I fully understand, but growing up is important. If you remain a child forever, you may rob yourself of your potential realized as an adult. But as for this unicorn, Rarity you say? I may have to meet her sometime. It would make sense that another quadruped might have more thoughts on clothing for one such as myself. Shall I tell her that you referred me?"
Athela Valemore "It is protective covering for horses used in battle." The joke probably would of worked better if Lunara's other half was actually an equine rather than.. deer? She did just say stag after all. "You were wondering about how much of yourself you needed to dress after all." Slurry glurbs at her. It doesn't 'translate' like other worlds' poke-speak does, but apparently there's enough inflection somewhere for Athela to understand. Likely due to familiarity. "Yes, yes, shouldn't explain the joke."

She wanders off to look around the store while the others are talking, even if the concept of a unicorn being a seamstress is still an odd concept, even by multiverse standards.
