Mitsu Mirage     It's a sunny day here in Summer, hints of rainclouds overhead as castle, possibly old english, looms in the background. Various lakes and rivers are around and feed into a typical moat around the big building. Thanks to Kratzenfaust's efforts, she's here a lot earlier than normal, dragging along a couple of people with her, a pirate and a rat, while the bouncy mage herself's in her transformed state. "So, here it is. The Logia is mine, everything else belongs to you two! Sound fair?"

Of course, Mitsu herself is fine with this arrangement, who knows what's in there magic wise, but that Logia.... oh she could so use that Logia to smack Zephyr and the rest of the TSAB so hard with it. "So, let's go! We need to get in and out before the TSAB comes. You don't wanna deal with those lying cheats." she gives a slight nod and with a bounce... she's off!
Vatol Halftail It's sunny. Vatol hates the sun.

"Make a note," he hisses to another rat-man nearby, "to kill-kill the sun."

He stands on a forested rise overlooking the castle, scowling beneath his mask at the castle. Really, it isn't the castle that bothers him -- they've dealt with things like this before. It's the /openness/. The fact that there is a field to cross, a moat to deal with, and walls to scale or drop. He fights in /tunnels/. This is... slightly distressing.

"Yes, fine," Vatol says. "Perhaps when we recover this Logia, you will let me study-study it, yes?" He taps his long fingers together for a moment, and then lifts the black-bladed glaive of his out of the ground nearby. "I will deal-deal with the walls." He sweeps the glaive forward, and... waits.

Skaven rush out of the woods. Dozens of armored rat-men rush down the hillside, approaching the castle. Two teams of two come with them: one hauling a huge tank of something attached to a big armored nozzle, and the other dragging a pallet with a wide-barreled, vertical-pointed cannon of some kind mounted to it.

Vatol follows them, but at the rear. It's the Skaven place of honor, after all.
Lima Ultimos It is incredibly rare that Lima Ultimos travels without his ship. Currently, she's parked not far away, guarded by the crew and quartermaster who are currently playing 100+-man chess, a game that Lima Ultimos invented. This also means that this is the first time any of his allies are actually seeing him face-to-face. Despite his humanoid shape and hair, he does not look human due to having snake-skin, long claws, horns, and man-eating flowers growing from one of his shoulders. He comes fully-armed: sword at side, rifle at back, blunderbuss below it, four pistols, and his dagger. As he speaks, he's pretty obviously Spanish; both language and hints in his very pirate-y accent. "Aye! It be a fair trade. Loot be all it take to please the pirate within me!" Vatol volunteers to handle the entrance, so Lima Ultimos just nods and grins. "I be handling the moving in and out! Grabbing things and carrying them away be me specialty."

And then Lima Ultimos stares, briefly, at the Skaven tank-army. "What...what be that?"
Zephyr Windstar     <Master. Lost Logia signal detected. Coordinates are specific.> comes the resonant chime of the Device on Zephyr's wrist. "What? Here?" replies the Mage, swinging her legs off of the tabletop in a nearby inn. The boots hit the floor, and as she stands, her body is wreathed in purple magic, activating her Barrier Jacket as she drops a handful of coins on the table to pay for the half finished drink and plate of food.

Zephyr steps out of the building, and with a practiced flourish, summons her Device to Mistral Form, the one-handed ax manifesting in her left hand, while a pair of sub-unit 'Bits' form in the air around her, maintaining formation and keeping pace, as she kicks off the ground and soards skyward, closing in on the Castle and the hidden Lost Logia within. As well as the members of Mitsu's assault band.
Kakashi Hatake     Kakashi Hatake has been informed that a dangerous magical artifact has been detected in the vicinity. While not exactly a magic user himself, nor necessarily studied in the lore behind Lost Logia in particular, as a former Union Lieutenant, he at least had the opportunity to get the general gist of these things when they appeared before. Anyone familiar with them previously who is in the Paladins likely would have enlightened him upon reporting the situation.

He arrives within view of the castle where the magical signature was emanating from, keeping his distance initially while he assesses the area and the architecture for signs of enemies, entry points, or miscellaneous other information. But around the time he sets off across the field, he becomes aware of the clamor of clanking armor and the rolling of some large machine or weapon of some kind down the hills. The cannon-like barrel looks like it's probably the latter, but he can't rule out some kind of tether launcher for bypassing the walls or something.

The ninja adjusts his direction, aware that getting to the Logia is a priority and keeping it out of the hands of those who would use it for ill purposes, but also realizing that taking down the rat-people (wait, rat-people?) will buy more time for dealing with the Logia. Rather than leaping directly into combat, however, he is heading for the moat on the side nearest the incoming army. He isn't sure if the castle has any defenders, but it will be easier to deal with an attempt to breach the walls if he's in a position to actually take action.
Xiaomu While Tokyo-52605 is still playing host to a bunch of refugees from the fall of Njorun Station, Xiaomu has taken it upon herself to venture out of the city and about the newly-remapped Multiverse. This may not have been entirely as-planned ..

Admittedly, she was wishing winter would take a break, but she didn't mean to blunder into the Summer region. She's looking around from next to the warpgate when a certain wind mage rockets past overhead; between Zephyr's passage and the unfamiliar scent in the air, she figures she could do worse than to head in the same direction Zephyr's going.

Fortunately, she brought her light cycle; a quick application of focused willpower (and a modest amount of qi) rezzes up the vehicle from its standby baton form, and the sage fox takes off. The light cycle may not be a mountain bike, but its suspension can handle some bumps along the way ... probably.
Mitsu Mirage     Mitsu gives a grin at Lima, nodding some to him. "I'm glad to have you along. We just need a good entry point and..." With the Skaven already charging the wall, Mitsu's right with them with leaps and bounds that would make any rabbit jealous. "Hey, I'm coming too, that stuff is ours! Can you get us in!" she shouts, punching Kratzenfaust together with some loud clangs. "Okay, it's probably about fourty meters inside those walls... maybe some down." she nods, giving direction to the rat-people she's with.

That's when Kratzenfaust chimes in. <Device detected....> the Germanic voice calls over, causing a lightning shield to encase the Rabbit of the TSAB. "Oh don't tell me /SHE/ is here." she grumbles, "Okay, heads up... we may have another device user come in... and they're never without backup of some sort. i'll handle her if you guys don't mind running interference with their backup!" comes Mitsu's request slash order slash if-it-is-her-she-is-mine request. While stormclouds over head start building up over the castle, Mitsu's eyes go into inquistive mode...

    "The hell?"
Vatol Halftail "Watch," Vatol tells Lima. His grin is audible. "I think you will like-like this."

The Skaven move quickly. Their legs are powerful and their bodies are light, carrying them towards the walls twice as fast as any human warband would march. To them, it's a steady pace; to man-things, it's a quick jog or an easy run. The bulk of the forces are armed with polearms (spears, glaives, anything sharp and pointy on a long stick), with a scattering of paired short blades tossed in. Some have extra stabbing-bits tied to their tails, and seem keen on using them.

"Forty meters inside?" Vatol queries. "Which means distance is..." He turns his head and yells something about distances to the weapon teams. They slow, setting up near the back of the boxy formation of rat-men warriors. The one with the tubes and fluid tank wobbles forward, while the other one plants itself and sets up, tilting the wide, short-barreled cannon(?) slightly and squinting up at the sun. They mutter to themselves, and one them hauls forward a sack of something: globes of glass, with something green inside.

The cannon -- no, the /mortar/ fires. It launches one of the globes high into the air, arcing up and above the wall... and comes just short, slamming into a tower's crenellation and bursting. A cloud of noxious green gas spreads out, carried in the wind across the tower and away from the castle. The mortar team adjusts their aim...

...while Vatol pushes his way to the front of the clanrats. They aren't going to beat the ninja to the castle, but that's just fine by him. He turns a masked eye to the wall, lifting his free hand in a sweeping motion and then driving the gauntleted fist into the dirt with a flicker of unearthly green light. He twists -- and the earth shudders, cracks in the ground rushing forward from his hand and disappearing under the moat and the wall.

Fissures open. Cracks start to form up the wall. Stonework buckles, splitting with deafening sounds. The tear widens, water rushing in to fill it, the moat churning from the tremors. The wall directly in front of the Skaven splits, giving way and tumbling down in an avalanche of stone that pours into the moat and the fissure.

Vatol raises his glaive, roaring. The Skaven charge forward, rushing towards the breach and over the ford in a wave accompanied by furious, bloodthirsty shrieking.
Lima Ultimos Lima Ultimos is pretty excited about this, and is doubley excited when the Skaven do amazing Skaven things. As the cannon fires, he grins audibly. But at the same time, they have enemies to deal with. He can chatter about how amazing the cannon is later. Instead, Lima Ultimos spots the ninja...and begins dashing towards him. He's not as fast as the ninja, but he's a bit faster than a normal man, and his reflexes mean that as soon as that man enters visual range, Lima Ultimos is already pursuing.

The pirate calls out loudly to Kakashi. "Yarr! Ye be going the wrong way. Ye prize be here...one fight with a pirate captain! Be ye ready, weird running man?!"
Zephyr Windstar     <Device Detected.> chimes Divine Wind, at probably the same time as Kratzenfaust. "... any idea who?" asks Zephyr <Belkan Magic System detected. Possibly Kratzenfaust.> replies Divine Wind.

The Mage comes to a stop in mid-air, looking over the Skaven warparty assaulting the castle. "Lock onto the Device Signal and lets take her out... did you see Xiaomu back near the Warpgate?" <Yes Master. I have already pinged her radio to attempt communication uplink.> "Alright, keep me informed.

Zephyr watches the stormclouds beginning to form, and frowns a bit as she turns and launches off again, aiming to intercept Mitsu.
Xiaomu The sound of an explosion travels remarkably well over relatively open terrain; Xiaomu's light cycle crests one more rise and lets her see the source of that big boom she just heard. Also, the wall that's been blown apart.

"You're kidding, right ..." the sage fox grouses, mostly to herself, Then she leans over the light cycle and opens the throttle all the way, idly hoping that the grasses she's speeding across aren't somebody's crops. At least not recently.

Well, the castle doesn't look all that occupied, despite the destructiveness of the Skaven method of entry. Xiaomu pours on the speed, and in fact she's going to try to run over some of the hindmost Skaven on her way through their ranks - trying to take them by surprise as much as possible, plus a couple of fire-element-boosted grenades in their ranks.
Kakashi Hatake     A pirate captain is charging Kakashi and challenging him to a duel. The ninja turns his head a bit, a lazy, almost-sleepy expression on his face. "Hm?" He looks the non-human pirate over briefly, then waves and squints his visible eye closed as he calls back. "Sorry, sorry, but I'll have to decline your challenge." He rubs the back of his head as though in embarrassment and says, "I already have a rival, so..." Then there is a crash.

He turns his attention at the sound of the cannon/motar firing, launching what looks like a chemical weapon of some kind at the castle. The rat-commander punching the castle wall and blasting it open, combined with the fearsome arsenal, is definitely cause for concern, but having allies on-site who can put a stop to that, and what seems to be an unconnected but friendly force with the same goal, gives Kakashi a bit more room to consider the pirate who is trying to run him down.

He turns and skids to a halt at the same time, with his back to the moat. "On second thought, maybe I'll take you up on your challenge after all." While still a bit sleepy-sounding, his posture is a bit more serious. Kakashi still intends to provide support if he can, but if he tries to engage an army at the same time as he tries to leave this crazy pirate behind, he'll wind up having to deal with both at once. And that's probably not for the best.
Mitsu Mirage     Mitsu's heading rapidly towards the new hole, leaping here and there and, with one more leap, she turns around with the warning from the Skaven leader. "Eh?" looking at the sky, landing and running backwards, "Oh, she's here." she muttered, "Okay, secure the area!" she shouts, running up the now broken bits of wall to get upon the castle's top rampart. "Lightning Claw!" she shouts, taking the initiative on the mage, making rapid swipes in the air, sending arcing blades of blue lightning towards Zephyr!

"Hey, WINDY! Bet you can't catch me!" she shouts at the incoming mage before backflipping off ther rampart and running into the castle proper. She has to secure that Logia at all costs, can't let this one in her hands now, can she?

Meanwhile, the stormclouds build up... the sky darkens and the temperature drops slightly as a heavy rain starts forming over the castle and the group around it.
Vatol Halftail Xiaomu's approach is sudden, reckless, and incredibly effective. She slams into three Skaven before they even know what's happening, and the fire-boosted grenades blast the rat-men out of formation in an instant. The rush keeps going, though, the majority of the troops charging into the breach while the scattered ones are left reeling and, apparently, panicking. There is, however, a single problem with attacking from the rear:

That's where the commander stands.

Vatol whips his head around, eyes widening at the cycle and narrowing at its passenger. He doesn't know her, but he knows what that means: trouble. Vatol swings his gauntleted hand up, yelling again, a cry of, "Death-death to the man-things," rallying the faltering Skaven around him. He plants his feet, gathering himself... and drops his hand for a second, flicking a switch at a box near his waist.

The barrel-like contraption on his back thrums with power. A gauge on his arm ticks up as the Warp energy condenser draws in the ambient magical power around him. It funnels through the cabling connected to his armor, a dim green glow pulsing from the rune-inscribed components.

Vatol brandishes his gauntleted palm and the piece of green stone set into it. It seems to drink in light, a weird halo of darkness surrounding it -- and then bolts of green lightning burst from its surface, chasing the sage fox in a rather straightforward attempt at dismounting her by way of sudden application of /warp lightning/.
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr spots the other Device User, a bit too late, and has to sharply bank to avoid the incoming lightning blades. She rolls out of the sudden barrel roll, then grits her teeth and surges downwards, giving chase to the Rabbit. "I'm faster than you are." she comments. Which may or may not be true, she /can/ fly, after all, but moving the fight inside will severely limit her maneuverability in flight.

<MISTRAL SHOOTER!> chimes Divine Wind, as the Bits begin to spit a steady stream of high speed, non-homing bullets, like a pair of little machineguns.
Lima Ultimos Lima Ultimos begins to frown when Kakashi declines his challenge, and is about to step forward to try and persuade him (legitimately persuade him, he hasn't begun drawing any weapons or anything). "But it be a challeng-"

And then Kakashi accepts! Oh. That was easy.

Lima Ultimos proceeds by drawing his sword from where it rests. It's a blade of odd, rotted metal, as if it has been underwater for centuries. Lima Ultimos points it as Kakashi, dancing around on his feet, before he responds. "Alright, I be issuing the challenge, so it be ye move first! Draw ye weapon and have at me!"
Mitsu Mirage     Those non homing shots hit home during the Rabbit's backflip, some of them bounce off of her lightning shield while some of the others knock her aside and have her crash into the ground.. She groans a bit, standing up before dashing away. "i.. I'm okay. really!" leading the Wind Mage on a chase. It's possibly she /is/ faster, but she's not going to take that chance, "You're flying, of COURSE you're faster!" she chides, standing at the far wall of a hallway.

"So, if you beat me, you can have it, otherwise, I'm going to take it, and everything in here and have my fun. You understand?" she smirks, waiting for the Mage to come in. Though, as soon as she does... Mitsu's hopping off the wall and running TOWARDS her, "Valkyrie Claw!" she shouts, claws bursting into lightning as she makes furious, x shaped swipes into the air as she chases down the mage!
Xiaomu Well, it's not like she figured she'd take ALL of them down that easily. Being mistaken for a 'man-thing' makes Xiaomu's ears twitch, though, and rather than pursuing the rest of the Skaven into the palace, she wheels around to face Vatol -

Then dives AWAY from her light cycle, grabbing her staff from where it was slung across her back, when the Skaven leader yanks in magic like pulling in a fishing net. She's probably clear of it by the time the warp lightning gets slung away ... and the light cycle de-rezzes down into baton mode JUST before it would have been blown away.

"Okay, I have no idea who you are or how you did that," the sage fox says - her hair still standing on end, for reasons having nothing to do with residual ionization. "But if you're trying to raid this castle for treasure, I'm here to make sure you leave empty-handed. How many of you leave *conscious* is up to you. Call 'em off, I'll let you all go without trouble."

The handgun she draws from inside her vest is a pretty clear identifier as to the alternative, and she levels it at Vatol without further word. If he tries tossing more lightning at her, she's pulling the trigger.
Kakashi Hatake     A long, drawn-out duel, especially if it's being offered rather than forced, isn't appropriate in a situation like this, so Kakashi first tries the diplomatic route. "Wait, wait. I accept your challenge, but is there any way it can be postponed to a later date, Captain... Who are you, again?" He leans his head foreward a bit, realizing he's not even sure who this person is. "I have to take care of some pressing business, but I'll take you up on this if you wait until some other time."

Putting things off is an art form that Kakashi has mastered. But will it be enough to dissuade this mysterious challenger long enough to try to stop the army of rampaging rodents!? Probably not, but just incase, it's worth a shot, right?
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr is a savvy fighter, so even as she lands and heads down into the hallway, her axe blade is already awash with purple light. <MISTRAL CUTTER!> the furious swipes of the Valkyrie Claw meeting equally with the blade of the axe-type Device. Belkan Devices are much sturdier than Mid Childan, but Marchian ones are a hybrid of the two, though inferior to both in their native element. A jack-of-all-trades type.

Mana spalls off from Divine Wind's blade, as it strikes against the swiping claws of Kratzenfaust... and then Zephyr isn't there anymore.

A split second later, the wall of the hallway suddenly explodes, in a furrow that shows the Mage just used a Speed Boost technique to get past Mitsu and head further into the castle!
Mitsu Mirage     Lightning bursts from the contact between devices, thankfully, her own gauntlets were made of tough stuff compared to the one that she's punching. At least, she would be punching something, as the walls of the hallway burst, leaving the Rabbit in shock... "Eh? What happ... wait, where did she go? CRAP! The mage's after my prize!" A light growl is given as Mitsu kicks off and starts to chase down, damn thing being faster than her...

Meanwhile, outside lightning strikes the ground in random places before... snow starts to fall... what the hell was up with the weather here?!

Back in the castle, "Kratzenfaust, trace that device. Find it!" a confirmation chime is given and MItsu continues to rush down, taking turns here and there... before just hopping up and diving DOWN, clawing a hole into the stonework to go deeper. "Lightning Drill!"
Vatol Halftail The cycle de-rezzes, collapsing into some kind of... rod? A staff, maybe? His interest is piqued. He watches it for a second, and then turns to Xiaomu instead, regarding her through the dark lenses on his horned helmet-slash-mask. The gauntlet crackles with potential energy, the weird green gemstone glowing with un-light. Xiaomu might be able to sense the chaotic magic held in that tiny space, and the constant, tiny trickle flowing into it and whatever it is he's carrying. It was like a vacuum a moment ago, but it's more like it's collecting from a dripping faucet, now.

"I am Vatol! Vatol Halftail! Warlock Engineer of the mighty Clan Skryre!" He swings his glaive around, the black-bladed weapon flickering with the same lightning he flung at her. He levels it at her, but he doesn't charge. The other Skaven shuffle around nearby, the ones that aren't moaning on the ground or trying to creep away watching the two of them with weapons readied. They're sort of creeping into a half-circle to partly surround her, but none of them want to make the first move.

He laughs. "I will offer different terms to you, fox-thing. Give me the rod device, and perhaps we will leave /without/ your tails-tails!"

Vatol doesn't really want to get shot. It does all kinds of awful things to his equipment. Easy loot, though...
Zephyr Windstar     Zephyr is fast. Amazingly fast. She might even be as fast as the Golden Flash Herself... in a straight line.

Zephyr's speed comes at a price of maneuverability in tight turns, limiting her to only being 'Ridiculous' speed, instead of 'Ludicrous'... but that gets Jammed when Mitsu comes crashing through the ceiling right in front of her.

She skids to a halt, and draws her right fist back, bracing it as a 'sheath' of Wind Element forms around it. <MACH PUNCH!> It's a long shot, against a Fist-weapon user, but it might just catch her off guard!
Xiaomu "I'm Xiaomu, agent of Shinra, and I'm a sage fox, not a 'fox-thing,'" the foxgirl answers, her grip on the Roc's Icebrand tensing as she sees/feels the chaos magic starting to accumulate again. "And I went through a lot to get my light cycle, so I don't plan on forking *that* over. Obviously you're not getting my tails either," she adds, the hair-tails flicking out a little bit behind her -

Which is when she starts shooting. The first 'bullet' of ice magic is aimed for that gauntlet, the other one for the glaive - and then Xiaomu herself is on the move, her staff flung high into the air as she calls out, "JUU NO KATA!!" She draws a second handgun - this one fairly normal - and then?

Then she's going full-tilt John Woo on the Skaven soldiers. Bolting in close, kicking or shooting or pistol-whipping as the openings present themselves, basically just trying to go through all of them before they either manage to encircle her, or before Vatol joins the fray again. On the other hand, the more of his minions Xiaomu can keep between herself and the warlock engineer, the less likely he is to try anything else at her.

.... right?

... actually, she's nowhere near sure about that. Xiaomu decides it's best to just take out as many of the other Skaven as possible, THEN focus on the boss. She's not going out of her way to kill them, but she's not going out of her way to hold back, either. And hey, she was telling the truth about letting them leave empty-handed under their own power - if they run away, she's not going to worry about them.
Mitsu Mirage     Fast is as fast does, right? Sometimes, a more direct route needs to be taken when she dove down and broke though the ceiling. "Hello." then suddenly, a punch from the wind mage! It connects with her jaw and Mitsu shakes her head, that actually hurt. "Augh, hey... I'm the punching specialist here!" as she demonstrates, returning a lightning encased punch! "Why do you want this thing so badly? I found it first!" she questions in the middle of hopefully fisticuffs with the wind mage.

Though, she actually hasn't found it yet, it's still somewhere down there. "Has the TSAb still gone into buisness after the Multiverse imploded on itself?!"
Zephyr Windstar     Thud.

Zephyr staggers back a half step as the return punch from Mitsu connects with her jaw. She throws her weight behind another punch, while also trying to parry with her Axe, using the blade to turn some of those claw swipse aside. "I lost contact with the TSAB, And I never really liked 'em anyway. I'm only after this thing because Logia are dangerous!" she returns, ducking under a swipe, then gathering to just bodily tackle the Rabbit-themed Mage to the ground. "Irresponsible use of these things gets people killed, including the one /using/ the Logia."
Vatol Halftail "Then it seems," Vatol says, "we have a problem."

Beat.

"Fox-thing."

That's about when she starts shooting. The first bolt of ice magic hits the gauntlet and freezes it over, making the Skaven wearing it yelp in surprise and alarm. The second clips the glaive, swinging it aside, forcing the Warlock Engineer to take a step back and do something about this before he can properly engage her. Vatol is /not/ happy about this. Fortunately, he has people for that.

His toops, that is, who, meanwhile, begin to get their butts kicked. They fight back with screeches and stabs, flailing wildly while she generally beats them into submission. Skaven, as it turns out, are fairly fragile -- but they're /quick/, making the element of surprise only last so long. They come at her with knives and short swords, a few more stabbing in with long spears, giving her things to pay attention to and dance around if she's planning on leaving with all her blood on the inside.

Vatol struggles with the ice. He growls, slamming his gauntlet into the breastplate of his armor to crack the ice. He steps backwards, making a low rumbling noise, and sweeping his glaive at the warriors that haven't been laid out and /are/ running away. There's a ripple of black energy and another surge of magic, but no tug like before. It isn't the same as the lightning, and isn't coming through the same source.

The cowardly clanrats stop and beat the ground, making horrible sounds before they throw themselves back into the fray. They're frothing at the mouth, whipped into a death-frenzy and attacking faster and more viciously than before. Vatol himself circles the fray, watching as his own troops become suicidally reckless with a careful eye and no free hands.

Which makes the gunshot that much more surprising, one would think. The warplock pistol swept up by his tail fires past him, taking a shot with a shell made of the same weird rock set into his gauntlet. It's chaotic, corruptive, highly magical and /very/ unstable, prone to punching through anything like armor and exploding on impact into hot, burning fragments.

She probably doesn't want to get hit by that.
