Nobeard     Getting an appointment with anyone in power in the Elven Imperial Navy is really difficult. Fortunately, while arrogant, the Navy is also not stupid, and the Paladins are regarded as an upstart young organization that at least has the right idea. Most of the delay was actually getting someone of sufficient rank freed up and near a good meeting point.

Said meeting point is actually a mobile base, The Garden, which is made up of several Elven Armadas(the ship named Armada, not the term) all lashed together to make a semi-mobile base. The air envelope is plenty large enough, and a small flitter is sent to pick up the group. Armadas are large enough to have landing strips for flitters, which can lead directly into a command center.

This is a fantasy world, so the presence of magical lighting and wooden chairs shouldn't be surprising. What might be surprising is that the silver-haired Admiral the group is meeting is sitting at a table with an inset crystal display... which shows what looks to be a 2D representation of the planetary system in this sphere, along with several other blips, some of which visibly in motion. It's the second who is greeting the group, however. "Admiral Silverthrone has agreed to hear you out. Please be on your best behavior, groundlings."

It's easy to see why people don't like the Navy.
Ainsley     Ainsley knows why they are here, and would have explained it to everyone as carefully as possible.

Ainsley knows the Elven Imperial Navy has a superweapon in their possession. This weapon, if woken up or used in any way, could mean a city's worth of deaths just based off of what she learned before she dragged Maya out. Someone has sent a bunch of less law-aligned heroes to go destroy it, but that comes with its own set of problems.

So Ainsley contacted the EIN to set up a meeting. She made it VERY CLEAR that NO ONE should bring up the weapon directly during the meeting. It is not something they should know exists, and that alone will make their ability to do anything to stop this from getting worse very limited. They're here to offer their services in an official capacity based off of some believable intel that people want to take something that they have in a given location.

"Thank you for seeing us," Ainsley says, even performing the customary Elven gestures based on what she's read. "I am Chevalier Ainsley, Judge of the Cursebreaker division in the Paladins." She raises the badge from her pocket, in her very traditionally modern police-ish uniform. It's more formal today, for proper respect toward meeting an officer of a navy. "I would like an extend an offer to help based on some information we have acquired." She is /stone cold/ business today. It's almost robotic. One might mistake her for actually having been in a military at some point.
Mel Brock     As is always the case, Mel Brock has arrived in her Chaser vehicle, using the (relatively) small spacecraft to arrive at her leisure - "her leisurse" generally being 'right on time'. It is small enough that if she could park an RV vehicle on any one of the ships, she could easily park the Chaser there as well; if she can get away with it, that's what she'll be doing. Otherwise, she'll take the flitter with everyone else.

There's room on the Chaser for three more, if anyone else needs a ride.

Once they're all settled in, the PsiMarshal seats herself calmly and formally, neither slouching nor reclining in her seat. "We appreciate it quite a bit. Marshal Mel Brock, Sol Territories Alliance and Paladins. I do feel the need to clarify one thing, though- I'm not sure I count as a 'groundling'. I've lived most of my life on a starship for some years now." Hopefully, it's a point of rapport between them.
Kiyoko Saito     Kiyoko snaps a salute! "Honor to meet you, sirs! Dame Kiyoko Saito, Multiversal Counterfiet Division, Paladins! Not that we're here for any counterfieting violations, I'm operating as a regular agent at the moment with the Cursebreakers." She snaps her hand down, then pauses. "I didn't manage to find out what kind of salutes you used, so I hope that was okay."

Is she acting professional now? Well, she is sixteen now.
Maya Maya and poltical affairs? This could get messy thankfully? She truts Ainsley's judgement in this matter, She also trusts Ainsley as she was not intending to throw the whistleblower under a bus. She knows the thing has to go but they have to do it the way they have to. It would be a lie to say some part of her didn't want her fomer allies and the other allies to succed in destroying the abombation. She follows in and is silent behind Mel and Ainsley for a moment before she speaks.

"I am Maya Artisan with the Paladins."
Nobeard     The Admiral is the one to speak up now, at last. His voice is quiet, but somehow carries across the table. "The Imperial Navy rarely requests help any more. However, we are aware that some are spacefaring peoples themselves," he nods to Mel, "And that your organization has quite a lot of experience with working in different worlds. Those of you who are groundlings are perhaps better prepared for the trials of space than most groundlings here... but this is not your world, and we do believe that many of you are not prepared for our unusual realm."

That sounds pretty arrogant, but... he motions for someone to bring some nice, flaky pastries. "Please, sit down. As the authorities of our respective realms, it would be best to work together as much as possible. What sort of information do you have that concerns us? We are currently chasing some bothersome slavers in the sector that seem to have gone to ground."
Ainsley     Ainsley's calm business-like demeanor weathers the arrogance of elven hospitality. In fact, she smiles in an understanding manner -- it gives off a feeling of understanding, at least -- and she takes a seat when indicated. She doesn't bother with the pastries. She isn't hungry for sweets during a meeting like this. It would have been telling, if anyone knew enough about her.

"The Neogi," Ainsley confirms, nodding once, "We have some idea for why they're here, besides their usual reasons. They are here to take something from your Navy. Something that they believed was worth a lot of effort and time to get. Maybe it's a weapon they found out about," she goes on, making it clear she's making a guess by her tone, Navies have weapons and are always thinking of making new ones, "Maybe it's some kind of treasure they think would help them." 'Treasure' implies 'map,' here. "Speaking an official capacity and summarizing my point, we're willing to devote some of our own to defending your interests, for the sake of cooperation. Ne'er-do-wells wish to steal from you and we want to stop that from happening. It's what Paladins do."

She smiles at that last part, a break in her calm demeanor. She is proud of what she is.
Mel Brock     "To be honest with you, we rarely are. One of the biggest mistakes I know of is going into a world, thinking we know what's what," Mel replies, settling back a little with a nod. "Having locals to offer us assistance and information is always welcome."
Kiyoko Saito     Kiyoko can see where this is headed... and latches on. "Yeah. Locals tend to know the area better, for one thing. And the customs. We're just offering a sort of trump card because your enemies won't know what we can do. We'd like to help out so we know how to work better with our possible allies."
Maya Maya has come to expect some level of arrogance from certain stations and she thinks this guy reminds her of the Chosen a bit. Not in the best ways either still she behaves she's all smiles for the moment. Somewhere Maya is sobbing she's dealing with poltical affaris when someone's screwing with WMDs, because she's seen how that story ended on her world. Maya keeps her cool and she will move in to sit down when asked to and she listens for a moment.

"I had an encounter with those slavers just before the union fell. Nasty bunch..."
Nobeard     "Mmmn..." The Admiral mutters, then gestures for the others to leave him. "Do you know where they are looking? I'm not aware of any strong weapons, nearby, but perhaps something else. Even if it is nothing, their mere belief could disrupt and endanger our colonies."

He leans back and folds his hands together. "However... your offer is tempting, and it's obvious that there is something unusual going on here. I can spare one Man-o-War to look into this. It's an older model, but it should suffice for now. I know just the woman for the job, as well. As your liason."

That almost seems to be the end of it, but what was mentioned has him deciding to be more forthcoming. "Yes, we've heard of the Union, before this mess started, lending some support. We don't much like vigilantes, but you Paladins have been much better about respecting our boundaries. We're a cautious people, you see... but the realities of this expanded universe have to be recognized. Consider this a trial run toward working together more frequently. My fellow Admirals have... varied views on whether or not it is necessary, but I think this is worth the risk."
Ainsley     His willingness to accept their help was telling. Ainsley glanced aside at Maya, who had mentioned the Union affiliation, and she nods in agreement with the Admiral's words when the word 'vigilante' is used.

"The Union became aware of a map that was in the possession of the Neogi. This map led to somewhere belonging to your Navy, but that... event happened before further investigation could be done, and our records dissolved along with the faction itself. Unfortunately, that means that priorities may have shifted, as not all members of the Union ended up among the Paladins, and some of them may have told these other factions that have popped up recently."

"Mmh..." She shifts uncomfortably in her seat, thinking of who she might have to fight, and how taxed her nerves are. Nothing major beyond a personal discomfort with having to be vague about it. She isn't lying, necessarily, she just can't outright say why she's offering to help. "I would like to speak with the liason at the next available opportunity."
Mel Brock     Mel smiles a little. "It's a pretty trite old line, sir, but we'll try not to let you down. We might be kind of a... varied lot, but the people in the Paladins are all good, hard workers with good heads on their shoulders."
Maya Maya Says "I was more more focused on trying to protect the city than just what they were after at the time."

Maya figured she'd be honest on that issue after all it might come out later. She looks to the Officer for a moment nodding. There is no comment really on the status of the Union, there is no reaction at all. She smiply leaves it at that and just honeslty sits back and woll ollow the others lead.
Kiyoko Saito     "Things are still a little messy in some areas," Kiyoko says apologetically. "But the Paladins have gotten organized pretty quickly! We're hoping to stamp out any problem areas quickly, and if your realm is a victim of this whole dissilution, then we should really help take care of it sooner than later. Don't want a minor problem getting big, right?"
Nobeard     Surprisingly, the dour-looking Admiral chuckles. "No, I can understand this. I was alive during the Unhuman Wars... and the aftermath was 'messy,' as you call it. I believe that Captain Leafbower will know just where to take you, and I will have my aide give you instructions on where to meet her right away. She's on a patrol right now, but should be back in a few days. I'll also give you some papers in case you encounter the Navy later."

Funny how he changed his tune to 'willing to accept help' to 'eager to have help' when Multiversal interest in this map came up, huh?
