Nagato     The day before:

Nagato logs into ALO for a while to get a few quests done, say goodbye to her little mini-guild for the holidays and in general, finish prep for when she can bust out another gaming session when she repairs. Funny, this game was, how it let Nagato open up. Too bad she doesn't do this with the rest of the fleet, save one or three... Though, when going to log out, a small thing happened, unknown to any other user or any other player... or even the Gatecrashers themselves... Tana gets dumped out from a Warpgate near Hikari Seaport... in the air.

It doesn't take her long to find out what happened, she has seen other Gatecrashers do the same, but they lived it their life, but her? Well, it /is/ Christmas Day.

    To the present:

In the main barracks area, Ooyodo's called for /every/ ship, non-ship... and even a pair of former enemies to Hikari Seaport's barracks, a huge tree with a veritable MOUNTAIN of presents is under said tree and it shines and brightens the room to the point where no lights are needed on. "Merry Christmas, everyone~" comes the peppy radar tower operator, "We're just waiting for a couple more people before we start opening things, and three very special guests have arrived too! Two of them were former enemies, so treat them as you would treat our friends and allies on this day."
Yari Takane "Keep sharp, Sanary. I trust the Admiral's intentions. But some of the Fleet might still hold a grudge. I wouldn't expect poison, ship girls are too loyal to each other to risk something like that. But don't go wandering out of sight. Ambushes and night attacks are completely within the skills I'd expect of the women we fought. I want to leave here with friends, not enemies. But I'm not losing you again either."

A deep sigh as Yari arrives alongside Sanary. She's dressed in a light kimono, gets clack-clacking as she heads for the barracks.

"I still haven't seen Miss Wo-class." Another worried sigh. Then, she pushes open the doors.

A pause. The ninja looks a bit banged up. Light damage, really, thanks to the healing of Sanary. But she still looks very tired, like a shipgirl who's still half way recovering from a near-sinking.

But that peppy shipgirl, and all the presents laid out...something pierces her heart, and she can't help but shed a tear. "So this is what they are really, huh?" A little joy, and a lot of bitterness sits on her tongue.

A deep, calming breath. "Merry Starli...ah...Christmas. I'm glad we could come here peacefully." She offers to pretty much every shipgirl who can hear her. She sounds as awkward as she feels.
Gaonoir A soft snort comes from somewhere off to the side. "Technically the lines that defined 'enemy' don't even exist anymore." Somehow, despite the huge tree shining brightly admist the barracks Gaonoir has found a spot at least less directly lit to lurk in as usual. There's always a shadow somewhere with the light, after all.

"Oh don't spoil the spirit of the moment by being practical," Erika retorts. Unlike the digimon she's right out amongst the gathering, complete with 'ugly christmas sweater' of two reindeer decorating a tree. Naturally one of the reindeer has a red nose. She turns to poke a finger to his nose, even in the shadow behind her. "Now behave, or I'll make you put the antlers on~"

By the way Gaonoir just -glowers- at her its not hard to guess she's talking about the sort of dorky novelty headgear some people make their pets endure. "At least it's not your sweater."
"You'd look cute in a sweater." True to form Erika isn't even phased by the insult. It's suppose to be bad, it's tradition!
"I'm fuzzy enough as it is. Hmph."
Shigure     As it stands, only two members of the Fifth Strike Force are on base when the call goes out. Kuma, Yamashiro, Nowaki and Chitose have been dispatched to rout out some annoying Abyssal Submarines that have strayed far too close to allied waters. This leaves Shigure and her sister Yuudachi to collect presents for the others to open when they return.

Shigure arrives first, wearing a... santa outfit, and carrying a large sack over her shoulder. Yuudachi is nowhere to be seen, though the sack does shift oddly and moves on its own now and then.

When Yari arrives, Shigure turns, sets the sack down gently then bows in greeting. "Whatever has been done is done. Water continues to flow under a bridge, much as time continues to march ever past us. Welcome." she offers in her soft tone... this is about when Yuudachi erupts from the sack, roaring mightily, then HURLING a box at Yari. "MERRY CHRISTMAS, POI~!" She's... dressed as a reindeer.
Sanary Rondel "Gotcha. I'm... Still pretty sure they don't really like me, either, so... Well, it should be fine if we stick near anyone else we know." Sanary nods in response to Yari as she walks along with the ninja, dressed in a relaxed t-shirt and school uniform combo of her own. She's not looking particularly relaxed just yet, but she has brought some vague sort of gift in a large wrapped box!

Like Yari, though, Sanary looks rather worn out herself. She's also a little shaky at the moment, almost as if everything around her has her on edge. "We'll find her eventually. Just gotta keep looking, right?" She laughs lightly, and the change is mode is rather obvious once that voice rings out.

She still looks rather nervous, of course, but there's a brief twitch when more of the shipgirls arrive. The blonde one coming out of the sack in particular gets an oddly intense stare from the healer. That's... Safe, right?
Suzuya With all the distractions going on, a red and white hat is deposited on Yari's head. Soon after, a similar one is on Sanary's. Surprise attack! Who said heavy cruisers can't be stealthy?

Suzuya grins broadly next to Yari, one hand coming to her hip. "Merichri, merichri~! The more company the better!" She's dressed for the holiday, but without the guns. They're not needed in a party! "Come on in, there's tons of food!"

Kumano is also dressed for the holiday, but a bit more conservatively than her sister. Hands clasped together, she gives a brief formal bow to Sanary. "Yes, welcome. Don't mind all the noise. Everyone is just excited to have more visitors."
Yuna Kagurazaka It's been a typically-busy Christmas for Yuna Kagurazaka: Christmas shopping (including no shortage of last-minute gift arrangements), her traditional big Christmas Eve concert back in Shiraokadai, and a fairly quiet Christmas Day spent with her family and some of her friends. But she did need to make an early departure, due to a certain invitation she received.

Much as she'd be happy to finish Christmas Day back home, this is an invitation she's not inclined to refuse - partly because Hikari is also a 'home' for her, by this point. She's kind of tempted to put on some sort of holiday-specific outfit - but it's Hikari, her uniform is warm enough for the winter weather she's seen there, and the uniform is cute enough that she doesn't mind wearing it at almost every opportunity.

"Merry Christmas, everybody!" Yuna/Light Cruiser Kagurazaka announces as she enters the barracks area; she may not be dressed like a Santa, but she *is* carrying a bag over her shoulder which probably has a bunch of presents in it. She actually rummages around in the bag briefly and hands one package to Ooyodo. "Open it and see if there's room for it on the tree!" she says with a grin; it's small enough to be a tree ornament, but not quite light enough to be a mere adornment for some random branch ...

If Ooyodo - or anyone else, for that matter - stops and tries to listen to it, is there ... singing coming from inside the box? It's too muffled to be sure while it's all wrapped up, though.
Nagato     Up in the Admiral's Office, Tana's sitting upon the chair reserved for the Admiral, behind the Admiral's desk... A Mutsu is nearby, watching this... "I don't know what happened, Mutsu, but I can assure you it's most likely temporary. Just make sure no one comes up to the office to see me, kay...?" comes the young-ish voice of the Cait Sith, a smile upon her face. "I know, I know, get your pictures now. Also, where did I put that one present..." she muttered, looking around the Admiral's office for a box...

Finding it, she heads towards the door, a sack in tow for very specific members she's invited... wings spread... "Mutsu, sister... this doesn't leave the office." upon hearing her sister's response, she opens up the door and starts flying towards the main hall and to the barracks. Fortunately, there's no one to see the Catmiral around... for now.

"Well, at least I can say things to the fleet now." she chuckles. "Never thought I'd do it as Tana..." those ears twitch a bit and she takes a deep breath, a wave of nervousness coming over her. She was pretty open... pretty different compared to the flesh and blood Nagato lying down in a bed in the office with the headset on.

"Here goes nothing. Tana, time for sortie. Expedition Christmas." A firm look off calm upon her face, she takes flight once more... and BURSTS through the door, breaking it open and encircling the entire room much to the amazement of the Destroyers gathered. There's words of 'The Admiral's prepared!' 'Was this in the script?' 'Wheres Nagato?' and other variable chatter as the flying catgirl slows down and hovers near the top of the tree.

"Happy Holidays to one and all, to everyone gathered, for today you're a member of the Hikari Fleet." a look around ... and there's the two she invited directly... Yari and Sanary. "Nagato could not make it today so I was sent in her place. She has a message to each and everyone of you. INcluding you two." she does a direct point to the two former enemies... "We've fought countless battles, done many sortie both as allies and enemies. We've had many... many ups and downs within the Fleet and even then, with the last major happening, we've still perservered. Everyone of you is a valuable person to each other, be it Sister Ships, Class mates..." a look /again/ to Yari and Sanary "life long partners." a look to Yuna "Close friends" and to Gaonoir "and life long allies. To those that are here... and to those that we will rescue... and to those that are yet to be known. Let us today take some respite... and gather around as one."

Tana smiles a bit, flying towards everyone, depositing a small present to everyone. Yuna gets a small whisper <Don't say a word, please. To anyone. It'll be our secret, ok?> Yari and Sanary just get one present for the both of them.
Suzuya Then....

When she first saw Tana appear, Mutsu was a bit surprised. She didn't even know that the avatar from ALO could appear outside the game! She got over her surprise fairly quickly, though, after taking a moment to play with the fuzzy Cait Sith ears. "Ara! They are real!"

There's an innocent look as she touches a finger to her cheek. "Pictures? Me?" The battleship giggles a bit before leaning down, petting those ears again. "Don't worry. Nobody will know it's you under that adorable face~! And I'll make sure nobody gets in here." Leaning over, she whispers something softly into Tana's ear, before standing up and winking, walking over to Nagato and putting a blanket over the admiralship.
Yari Takane Sanary gets a swift nod. "Stick together. Agreed. I'll be relying on you, Sanary."

She pauses momentarily. She wants to believe. But doubt still besets Yari. She's seen many good soldiers die. She has to force herself. "Miss Wo class...would not be sunk by a simple Upheaval." Yari might be lying to herself, but even that brightens her spirits a bit.

The arguing Erika doesn't get noticed much by Yari. So loud! There's a twitch of scaley brows. Gaonoir though? He seems like a kindred spirit, and that alone makes her put an eye on him for a moment.

The digimon suddenly gets a brief smile and nod. It's either a greeting, or agreement on enemy lines. Who can tell? (It's both).

As for Shigure? Her eyes shut, and she hesitates. This young kantai sounds entirely honest. "You're too forgiving. I won't disrespect anyone with harsh feelings. I...went too..." Teeth clench, and she looks away.

"Ignore me, it doesn't matter. What is your name Mi..."

The ambush is absolutely perfect. Out of that sack, comes the mighty, the unstoppable, the undefeatable Reindachi-chan! Lobbing her Present Artillery, the ninja reacts with a leap back into the air, only to be pummeled by enemy fire!

Catch! And she ninja-lands on a nearby wall, gently stepping off of it.

Clack clack. She looks down. "Ah! An excellent maneuver. Truly I shouldn't underestimate a Destroyer! Thank you. Merry Starlight." She finds herself smiling. Who can /not/ when faced with Shigure and especially Yuudachi! Poi!

And then Suzuya! Sudden hat! The ninja stops, and offers a deep bow.

"I...think I will. Glory and honor, Miss."

Yuna doesn't go unnoticed. "You should wear that outfit more, Yuna. Happy Starlight." A warm smile and wave!

The sudden appearance of Tana has something sharp flashing. Of /course/ the ninja is armed. But only for the briefest of moments as the words of the Admiral are given out. She takes a step away from her protection of Sanary...as well as Yuudachi. She's that darn cute.

"Fleet for a day, huh?" Suddenly, the ninja snaps a salute. "I, Yari Takane, accept this temporary assignment! Glory and honor to Hikari and the Fleet!" She offers, before falling to attention. Her tail offers their joint present to Sanary.

"Sanary...do the honors?"
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa had spent most of the day with family she'd however chosen to gone off to come visit and make the rounds where she could and the fleet base was on her list of places to go that day and so here sdhe was she did have a few gifts of her own to deliver as well. he knew she couldn't stay long but she would enjoy her time here as the blue haired cyborg arrives. She's in very good spirits as she sees the Catmiral she does have a package under her arm it's fairly long nad very well wrapped as well. She seems to be grinning widely as she now starts to look for the Admiral unaware about Tana!
Gaonoir Most people where relaxed and having fun. Which made Gaonoir's tenseness stand out, despite being the one trying to stay out of sight. He had lived his life as a soldier, a hunter and on the run. Despite knowing he didn't -have- to be constantly on edge now, he really couldn't help what had been ground into him until it was ni literally instinct.

Needless to say he's one of the first to his feet when something comes blasting through the doors, reading to stop an attack. Who would be rude enough to interrupt a christmas party after everything else that had happened lately? Even he wasn't that much of a jerk, discomfort aside.

But it's not an attack. It's just.. some sort of flying catgirl thing, that honestly could of very well passed for a Digimon in itself if he hadn't known better. "Looks like you're not the only flying sidekick Nagato keeps around~" Erika giggles even as she puts a hand on the canid's shoulder to calm him back down.

"Hmph. I'm not a 'sidekick'. If anything you are -my- sidekick, curse my luck." Which just gets more of a laugh out of the girl as she hugs him, much to his annoyance. "Oh com'n, cut that out! We're in public." Still not the most socially comfortable with the affectionate displays. He does manage to eventually squirm out of her embrace.

Just in time to have a wrapped box deposited in his paws. Tilts it a little to one side. "Y'know, I still don't get why, if you want to give people something nice, you insist on covering it up."

"The surprise is part of the fun!" He's just holding it, so Erika reachs over to actually pry off the paper and open the box. And then starts laughing all over again. Gaonoir doesn't even have long enough to emit his flat 'What?' at her outburst before Erika takes the box to set down, then takes out one of the tacky christma sweaters and yanks it over Gaonoir's head. A bit of squirming and muffled complaining that might of been cussing but the thick material conveniently censors it before she finally gets the collar down over his head. "Great, now I look like one of those dumb internet memes." Grumpy dog is grumpy. "I don't need to be no sweater pu--"

Erika slaps a hand over his muzzle abruptly, blushing. "Don't use that phrase, even if it would be a cleverly accurate pun right now! Just... trust me." Erika grabs one of the two handhelds that was hidden under the sweaters and shoves it in his paws instead. "Here just play this instead!"
Sanary Rondel Sanary flinches briefly when SUDDENLY HATS and she gets one on her head, glancing up at the little white puff before glancing back at the blue-haired cruiser. "Wha...? Oh! Uh. Hey, thanks. Merichri-er. Merry Christmas, yeah." She actually chuckles a bit at that display before turning to Kumano with a quick nod, and she even manages an awkward grin. "Y.. Yeah? I'm glad. Last time I was here..."

No, Sanary. Bad. Do not bring that up. "... Anyway! Uh. I brought you all some stuff. It's not much, but..." She pauses, looking down at Yari's and her own box, then at the gathered shipgirls. Who should even get this one? Who's in charge here if Nagato's not around? It's all rather confusing, but having Yuna, Gaonoir, Erika, and Kotone show up does give her some relief at not being the only non-ships around. Sure, she might have been on the wrong ends of all of their weapons at some point, but today's different! Today's a day to relax and unwind.

"Yari's right, Yuna. That's a cute look." She chuckles lightly while looking her over, then at her own clothes before nudging Yari. "Should we try that some time...?"

Priorities. The arrival of a certain Cait Sith draws a wide-eyed stare from the cleric. It's almost as if she recognizes her from somewhere, but that couldn't possibly be the case, right? She mouths "Ta...?" briefly before shutting up, then listening to the message from the Admiral. She's looking tense again, but does manage to relax with Yari's abrupt salute, and she even laughs after a few moments.

And then she salutes as well. "Land support Sanary Rondel, reporting in! Glad to be around for today." She grins slightly while balancing the packages, tucking the one from Tana under one arm while holding out the joint present to Tana in return. "This one's for... Er. I guess it's for the whole Fleet? Or..." She strokes her chin lightly, glancing back over at Yari with a confuse look. "You think this is better to use or hang...?"
Suzuya "Don't be so formal! It's Christmas!" Suzuya playfully slaps Yari on the shoulder, a wide grin on her face. "And you've got some fancy moves there! But nobody's gonna hurt anyone today, so you don't have to be so jumpy. Suzuya promises!"

Then the door bursts open, and the blue-haired heavy cruiser looks up at the flying cat. "Oooh... I wasn't expecting something like this!"

For her part, Kumano claps at the aerobatics. "Very nice! I didn't know Nagato was going to send someone like this." Presents are even handed out, and she oohs softly. "I'll make sure Maikaze and Yuubari get theirs, okay, Suzuya?" Pause. "...Suzuya?"

"Eheheh... nihihihihi~" That's quite a sinister giggle Suzuya lets out as she reads what's in her gift. "Suzuya will have fun with this!"
Shigure     Shigure covers her mouth, giggling softly at Yuudachi bursting out of the sack. "Please do not mind my little sister... she is rather excitable." explains the elder of the pair, bowing again to Yari and Sanary, before listening to Tana's words. "May we all find Victory on the Dawn's Horizon." she says, her voice oddly carrying despite its low volume. The Rengo Kantai Oath echos through most of the other gathered, before they return to their merry making.

Yuudachi isn't finished wiith her Presentillery yet though. She keeps ducking and pulling more present boxes out, hurling them at people she knows are paying attention. The 'presents' are generic wellwishings and a small, plush... thing. it has a hair ribbon like Yuudachi's own. Some of them have a little 'hair clip' like Shigure's too.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone though physically has more incommon with ships of her world, she's made of many of the same materials. Though she would get how Sanary was feeling she grins at the former confederate combat medic for a moment.

"I see you lived through the universe going tail up Sanary, good to see that."

She does mean it she's never seen Sanary as a lost cause. She also looks to Yari, Suzuyam Gaonir and the mysterious Tana all get grins and waves from the cyborg.

"I hope things are going well for you, has anyone seen the Admiral by any chance?"

She then spots Kuma who also gets a wave.
Gaonoir "Sounded like the Admiral was too busy with... Admiral things," Erika chimes up an answer, even as she's taking off her own tacky christmas sweater (she has a shirt on underneath don't worry) so she can put on the one from the present. Which matchs the equally tacky one Gaonoir got stuffed in. "But she certainly planned well enough ahead."
Yuna Kagurazaka Before Yuna has a chance to hand out anything else from that bag she's toting, a Cait Sith appears - one whom Yuna recognizes easily. The blonde idol grins and waves to Tana, but refrains from actually calling out a greeting to her; she doesn't actually have a *chance* to say anything due to Tana quickly launching into her greetings. The package and the whisper are both received with a bright smile and a nod, and Yuna makes a mental note not to give away the fairy catgirl's identity to anyone.

Only then does Yuna finally have a chance to really *look around* and see who else is here ... and her bright smile ebbs a bit, a crestfallen look passing over her face as she realizes how many people are here that she's not carrying gifts for. Some of them, she just doesn't know well enough to have picked anything out for individually; for others, their gifts are either in transit or - in a few cases - might already have been delivered. She basically brought presents for the Hikari Fleet, she didn't expect Yari or Sanary - not that she *isn't* glad to see them, of course.

For now, Yuna tucks the box Tana gave her under one arm, and starts making the rounds - interrupted briefly by Yuudachi's Presentillery barrage; she lets out a yelp and a giggle while catching the gift, then tucks it into the bag - it's distinctively-enough wrapped, she won't mistake it for something she wants to hand to somebody here. Then it's on to Yari and Sanary, who are closest and already greeting her personally.

"Thank you," the blonde idol says politely in response to the compliment. "I've really gotten to like it, Nagato sent it to me la--" She pauses abruptly, taking a fresh look at the box Tana just gave her in the Admiral's stead. "Last year," Yuna finishes more absent-mindedly. "If I'd known you two were going to be here, I would've brought your presents instead of mailing them ... hopefully they'll get to both of you soon. In the meantime -"

It's just a lousy night for the lizardnin to dodge surprise attacks, isn't it? Yuna drops the bag (carefully) and the box (less carefully) as she tries to grab both of the ex-Confederates into a tight hug. If they react with weapons, it's going to get messy ... but Yuna trusts her friends not to do that.

And they *ARE* her friends now, the way she's sure they should have been long ago. "Merry Christmas to both of you," Yuna says to the pair, "and Happy Starlight ... you'll have to explain that one to me," she adds wryly, gradually letting go of the hug.

Assuming Yari and Sanary also let go of Yuna, she picks up the temporarily-discarded box, pulls her bag over to a chair, and sits down to unwrap her present from Not-Darth Tana, Bright Lord of the (Cait) Sith.
Yari Takane Sanary raises a suggestion. Arms cross, and the ninja considers. "I suppose it would be useful in certain operations. Still...high schools...those uniforms..." She shudders. Kawakami Academy. It all comes rushing back for a second.

Ugh. "This might be training too." A very, very reluctant agreement there.

Leeean to Sanary. "Time to open. No hesitation. We have to be confident to win their respect!"

It's then that Yari addresses the whole group of Fleet assembled. Particularly as Suzuya whacks her on the shoulder! A hiss, and her tail waves in the air!

She sucks in a breath, and /tries/ to relax. She only partially succeeds. "This isn't easy even on me, you know? You girls are too nice..." Her face screws up for just a moment. Then she finally laughs, letting the tension break.

"All of you. Duty makes us do things we might not like, but it's important to realize when things turn from duty to petty vengeance. I failed in that. I hope one day we can all find peace." One final deep bow, and she turns to Sanary.

The joint present to Sanary and Yari swiftly gets the ninja's attention. She yoinks a mail opening knife from one of the nearby tables, and takes a few good slashes. It all falls to the floor, and reveals what's inside! A beautifully rendered model of Nagato, in ship form. There's a table upon it, near the last turret with three tiny figures in traditional kimono. They carry different ornaments: one, horns, another, an axe upon the back, and the last with a familiar set of antenna on the head. There's a note, and Yari leans in to let Sanary see and read.

Yari turns to Tana. Her entire body seems tense. The first words are choked, lost. Indeed, this ninja is too serious and formal perhaps, but the tears that then stream down her face are entirely ones of joy.

"Ma'am. Tell the Admiral...that I accept this gift." There's a scroll flicked to Tana suddenly. There's a very short message in the script of Yari's empire.

'Operative Takane is hereby ordered to cease all hostile operations towards the Hikari Fleet.'

Her voice lowers, and she whispers to Tana. "...Tell no one else. 'I've made my decision. May we find victory on the dawn's horizon.'" A single hand movement slips a piece of paper hopefully towards Tana without too much notice.

It's Yari's linkshell number.

Yuna-attack! And of the best kind! Group hug go, and she's squeezing gently! No, Yuna is the type of person she'd never expect to sneak attack her properly. There's simply no deception in her, and the ninja has never felt any kind of killing intent. In those arms, along with Sanary, she can relax.

When the parting comes, it's a far more happy looking Yari. "And you, Yuna. Oh? It's..."

Her gaze close. Her nose turns just a little. "A celebration by filthy barbarians that need discipline. But I respect their heart and the sentiments. 'Help and protect the joy of children'." Yari is blushing a bit here.
Gaonoir Gaonoir knows the look on Yari's face that she's trying to be all stoic and not show. Because it's the same sort of way he felt when Nagato first asked him to work with the Fleet. That strange mix of anxiety, confusion, and realization at having someplace to be. Sure, this was technically a military operation.

But Hikari was also a home, and a family.

Which is probably why he holds up his paws to his mouth in a mock shout. "Don't bother trying to hide it, ninja. They'll just keep smothering you in love and affection and the occasional death hug until they crack that hull."

Erika laughs, giving the digidog a light elbowing. "And I thought you would be the one to have a hard time lightening up."

"She's even worse at it that I am," Gaonoir retorts as he sits back down and picks the handheld up again. "Now stop trying to be sentimental and get past the first town so I can actually kick your butt."
Nagato     Tana gets a smile upon her face, it's a bright and wonderful smile, one that should be protected (not that it needed to be). Gaonoir and Erika are enjoying their present, then that smile of her fades with Suzuya's laugh. Little does Kumano know that it's Nagato. o O (What did I do...) comes a stray thought with Suzuya's little comment. "Nagato /hopes/ you won't use it for evil, Suzuya." she nervously chuckles... though Shigure's words get a firm nod and a smile.

"Shigure, you're a good destroyer." she comments, "And you too, Yuudachi." a turn to Kotone when she sees her, "I have not seen the Admiral, though if you have a gift for her, I'll gladly take it to her. Santa Cait will gladly deliver it, even if it's late." she grins, floating around... before landing, the wings dissapearing. Time limit reached. "Hmm, I need to let my wings rest, sorry." she chuckles, wandering over to the table full of food... getting something to drink.

Though, Yari and Sanary's words bring a smile to her face, the Fairy Catgirl wandering over to them. A slight tear comes into her eye, bowing towards the LizNin as she makes her little speech. And when that gift is opened... Tana gives a nod, "She knows, Yari. The Admiral has eyes everywhere." a look is given to Sanary... she hasn't made the connection /yet/ but there's a hint of 'I think i know you in game'. though she catches the scroll and opens it, reading it. "I'll translate it for her." and then the whisper... and the slip of paper... "She shall get this delivered to her posthaste. Perhaps ... She'll have to contact you for some other things."
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa nod to the strange cat woman with a grin. "That would be wonderful." She'll hand Tana the package which is lightis but might be breakable it's hard to tell either way Kotone certainly has been up to something whatever it is? The admiral will find out once the gift is delivered to her by the mysterious Tana. Kotone grins a little bit as she looks to the other people here.

"Honestly? I'm glad the war is over if there wasn't the loss of life in it's end I'd be calling it a miracle...at least we have an end to the eternal meat grinder and that's something." She takes extra note of this to the former confeds here.
Sanary Rondel Yuudachi keeps getting twitchy looks from Sanary, but it's not immediately clear why. Is she... Angry? About to attack her? Or is she just staring at the costume?

Probably the latter. Thankfully, Suzuya's odd giggling distracts her from following through with that idea, and Shigure's bow gets one in return from Sanary. "Ah..? O-oh, don't worry. I... Noticed. Seems liek a fun one."

     One day.

Kotone's greeting gets a light chuckle from Sanary. "Yeah, it was... Uh. Just got back, actually, thanks to Yari here." She reaches over to clap the ninja's shoulder greatefully. "Good to see you around, too, especially if we don't have to try killing each other any more or... Er." A pause, and then the healer glances around a few times at the gathered shipgirls and friends. "What... /Is/ everyone doing now, anyway? I mean, if there's no war, then... What now?"

Probably a question she'll need to figure out more later. For now, though, she simply nods in agreement with Yari at the talk of uniforms and more training, and then she leans over to peer at what that mystery gift is! "Whoa... Nice craftsmanship! Especially on..." There's a light half-whistle, a long pause, and then...

Sanary turns around abruptly. She stays quiet for several moments to try and sort out all the conflicting thoughts, even reaching over to give Yari another pat to reassure her in that crying state. She shoots alook at Gaonoir, and the Digimon might notice that the healer is struggling very hard to keep a stoic face herself! Once she turns around, she's about to raise her arm for a DRAMATIC PROCLAMATION before getting ambushed by Yuna in that sudden group hug. There's a quiet squeak at first, then she starts shaking while holding the idol and Yari together in that hug as well.

"Dammit, you... You idiots. Just had to... Mmrgh..." Now she's tearing up. GOOD JOB.
Suzuya "Gihihihi..~" Suzuya gives Tana a wicked grin. "Don't worry~ Suzuya won't use it for evil! There's not an evil bone in Suzuya's body!" Wait, do they even have bones?

There are hugs going on! Suzuya leaves that to those who know each other better, though she does look on with a grin. And because it does seem to be the time for hugs, she walks over toward the braided destroyer. "Shi~ gu~ re~!" Glomp! Suzuya gives Shigure a tight squeeze. "And how have you been lately? Nothing's come up that you needed big sisterly advice about, has there?"

Briefly, Kumano puffs her cheeks, but she soon relaxes and smiles again. "Well! I think there are far too many tears going on here." The brunette tugs out some handkerchiefs and gives them to the hugging girls. "I know you're happy, but do dry those eyes. Today is a cheerful night, and there's all this food waiting to be eaten!"
Yari Takane Yari's entire body twitches in annoyance. Her head tilts to one side, and her gaze lands on Gaonoir.

It's a death glare of absolute fury that even a ninja can't contain. She might also be slightly bad at keeping this mound of emotions inwards after all.

"I don't think I asked for your opinion." She mutters, and then her gaze softens. Another blush, and she finds herself desperately walking towards what she hopes is a table full of drinks.

Mutter mutter. "A mere death-hug is nothing to a kunoichi!" She then boldly protests. This way may lead to Hug-Doom.

A whispered reply to Tana. "Well done, then. Stay safe, Operative. I'll be waiting." A two-fingered wave to Tana as she walks off casually. Somehow, the ninja seems even happier, even if she's come to the wrong conclusion on Tana.

WHACK! Sanary is kinda strong. And ninja, while trained, less so than the cleric-warrior. Also she's wounded. There's choked curses, and Yari manages a chuckle. "P...peace would be nice." She mutters. But then, her gaze darkens a touch, and she's looking past the Fleet.

"War isn't over. It's just gotten more complicated, Sanary. New factions will interfere to fill the void. Plus there is still the Abyssal Fleet. I hate to say it...but now might b the calm before a great storm."

Yari makes sure she can be heard by the Fleet members too.

Gulp. Sanary tears!

"Let's all be idiots together, Sanary." The ninja tries comfortingly. She inwardly hopes for little air-drops of tissues, because this party seems to need it. Kumano is on the case though! Yari takes one, and dries her gaze. Then she's right over to the food table.

"Everyone! The hard work of those who have prepared this feast for us all is going to waste. Attack! Now!" And thus, Yari whips out two kunai, using ninja speed to utterly deovour the nearest turkey with absolutely no restraint. Nomf nomf nomf! Gravy, mashed potatoes too! Hungry ninliz is hungry after all of this.
Shigure     Shigure gets ambushed! She squeaks softly at Suzuya, then hugs back at the Heavy Cruiser. "Suzuya. Merry Christmas." she says gently, smiling a bit up at the taller bluenette. "I have... my sister, and the rest of the Fifth Strike Force to help me." she replies, adjusting her hat a little as it's knocked aside from the embrace. "Thank you, though."

Yuudachi finally steps out of the sack, picking up one last box, and walking over to Sanary. She approaches, and offers it out to the crying cleric. "Poi?"
Gaonoir "Finally! Getting to the interesting part of the celebration." Or at least the part Gaonoir will more openly admit to enjoying. Because food. Digimon can pack quite an appetite, even when one hasn't been actively fighting. "Com'n, stop being a nerd long enough to eat!" He has to practically grab Erika and drag her to the table to get her to put the new games away and actually join in the feasting.
Yuna Kagurazaka Yuna actually winces as Sanary breaks down in tears, and hugs the former Confederate all the closer, actually stroking Sanary's hair now in an effort to comfort her. Presents can wait - making anyone cry was at the total opposite of Yuna's list of things to do tonight.

Would singing help? Yuna had sort of meant to sing something at the party, but the first couple of songs she thinks of would probably not help to stop Sanary's tears. There's one that comes to mind, though, and Yuna knows it well enough that she doesn't really need the backing instruments. It even starts out appropriately, for the immediate context.

o/~    If the sky were crying in your stead,
I'd become the ocean so I could embrace it

o/~    Even if my map is sucked away into the storm
Your back stands now as my guidepost

Yuna attempts to disengage gently from Sanary, squeezing the ax-shield-cleric's hands tightly, trying to look her in the eye, and smiles boldly even as she keeps singing.

o/~    Like the moon and the sun, whether separated or close
Don't I catch the light at this range?

o/~    Smile, smile, always watching, watching all along, at any time
Smile, smile, wanting to believe, wanting to feel, always
Smile, smile, we can share both happy mornings and sad nights
I can't forget your smile; I can not live without you forever

One more squeeze of Sanary's hands, and then Yuna will try to draw back - not 'pulling away' so much as letting Sanary reclaim some distance (if she needs it) and some dignity (if she wants it). Yuna's humming a little, covering the bridge in lieu of a band (or a karaoke rig); fortunately, the instrumental part isn't terribly complex.

(Yuna is also blushing a little at the moment; appropriate song or not, she *did* kind of forget that it's also very much a love song. Occupational hazard, for an idol singer like Yuna.)
Nagato     With everything seeming to be good, Tana gives a smile as she goes back into the air, the ten minutes wait time is up and she's floating towards the door. "Peace and well wishes everyone. I have to go back, but Nagato knows. Nagato sees everything here." she smiled, the Fairy Catgirl slowly approaching the door. "Merry Christmas, Merry Starlight, Happy Holidays. From the Fleet's Admiral to you all." Quickly, now, Tana rushes up towards the Admiral's office with the open window.

Entering, she gives a look to Mutsu, floating in front of her.. face to face. "Sister, I'm glad that you've been by my side. Thank you. I need to head back, but I'll wake up here in a moment." she pauses a moment, "I guess... I could stay here until morning, sis. But only until morning."
Suzuya Back in Nagato's office, Mutsu was definitely not taking pictures of her sister's sleeping face. Not at all.

The younger battleship looks up toward the window. "Ah, welcome back, Tana~. How did it go?" She smiles and reaches out, petting the Cait Sith's ears a bit. "Judging by your expression, I'd say it went pretty well! Tell me all about it before you go back?" It's not often she's able to pamper her sister like this, so she'll have to take advantage of the time she has!
Sanary Rondel Sanary's being careful to avoid those hinting looks, but it might be a little too obvious that she's... Well. Might be someone that the Cait Sith Catmiral knows already. Still, it couldn't be /that/ obvious, could it?

Yes. But still. "I'll.. Need to talk to her again sometime, too. ort out... Uh. Wh-where to go from here." There's a lot of things that need to be sorted out, but... Well, one step at a time.

Kumano's offer of handkerchiefs and recommendation of eating actually snaps Sanary out of her stoic haze, and the tearing up even stops! "... Right. Food. I've been meaning to try the sort of stuff you eat around here since... I mean..."

Careful, Sanary. Don't make this too awkward. "... What /do/ ships eat? Do you need to eat? Where's it all go?" Dammit, Sanary.

To be fair, though, Yari did encourage them to all be idiots together. Sanary's just picking up the slack ahead of time! She's about to limp over to the food herself when she notices that a certain Poi has approached her, and Yuna's started holding her hand now. She looks between the two for several moments and even returns the hand squeeze with one of her own and a small twirl, and then she starts laughing quietly while wiping her eye with the handkerchief. "Complete idiots... Aah... Dammit. Fi-fine, I'll have fun this once."

She's not doing a very good job at hiding that grin, but who's counting? Sanary takes Yuudachi's present with a grateful smile and sets it aside briefly, then outright HOISTS her up for a hug as well. She can allow herself to indulge in cuteness once in a while!

Only a little bit, though, before it's time TO FEAST (and put a Poideer down). Still, there's a nagging thought in the back of her head even as she starts devouring things alongside everyone else, and she's glancing over at Yuna quizzically after a little while.

Did she just propose to her or something?
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa says "Me? I took a job offer from the Paladins honestly I think I can do a bit of good working for them honestly. IT also doesn't hurt to have my body's mintance costs covered by a group I can get on board with." She knows the trap some ex military bogs fall into her world havin to work for someone who can maintain their bodies too. "I'm still going to help the fleet when I can and where I can. It's also a good cause and I trust the Admiral."
Yuna Kagurazaka o/~    North and south, like a magnet, whenever we perceive
Naturally our existences seek each other out ....

Nope, it wasn't actually meant as a proposal, as might be evidenced a bit when Yuna keeps on singing *without* focusing on Sanary. Or on Yari, for that matter. She's making her way around the room now - and Tana is the next 'target,' if Yuna reaches her before the Cait Santa retreats. She clasps hands briefly with Yuudachi and Shigure, *not quite* in passing.

o/~    Like a secret clock that can't be stopped and nobody knows of
The two of us march onwards around the same dial

Then it's on to Erika and Gaonoir, and Kotone in turn - and so on around the room, 'greeting' and singing not to any one or two people here, but to *everyone*.

o/~    I'm dreaming of the needle of your tall back
Every time the little needle overlaps it, it engraves my love

o/~    Smile, smile, always watching, watching all along, at any time
Smile, smile, wanting to believe, wanting to feel, always
Smile, smile, we can share both happy mornings and sad nights
I can't forget your smile; I can not live without you forever

Sure, it might not technically be a Christmas song - but then, in Yuna's Japan, Christmas is a romantic holiday more than simply a time of secular merriment and gift-giving (even if it's those too). Yuna finally gets a chance to scoop up her bag again, rummaging briefly, and handing out a few more presents to the kanmusu in the room as she repeats the final chorus.

o/~    Smile, smile, always watching, watching all along, at any time
Smile, smile, wanting to believe, wanting to feel, always
Smile, smile, we can share both happy mornings and sad nights
I can't forget your smile; I can not live without you forever

Finally, the song is finished, and Yuna sits down with that box Tana gave her, unwrapping it and taking off the lid. She looks puzzled for a split second, even nonplussed; she already has a uniform - and then her eyes widen a bit. This one is different, not drastically so: a smidge more elaborate, somewhat nicer fabric, and adorned with small ribbons that she's seen on a select handful of other Fleet Daughters.

With that, Yuna reads the note, and her eyes widen further. "Flagship ... ?" she whispers. "Flagship of the --"

The note falls back onto her new uniform, Yuna's hands briefly going to cover her mouth. She's not exactly crying, just overwhelmed - maybe like Sanary was ... and Nagato's not here for her to properly say thanks to. Instead, Yuna closes the box again - almost reverently - and re-ties the ribbon around it to hold the lid in place. She knows the answer she'll have to give Nagato when she gets the chance. For now, though -

Well, she had a present for Nagato; Mutsu can take custody of that, and of Yuna's response: an intense (if whispered), "Thank you!"
