N'Raha     The Warp Gates have been mostly stabilized, the Aetherytes are operational again, and trade with the Offworld is once again open. Which means that Leves are once again hitting both the Adventurer's Guild, and the Syndicate. Which means adventurers and crafters all all of that are once again making their way to Eorzea.

And in the industrial town of Quarrymill in the South Shroud, there's been a call for Black Bass to help feed the workers and the roustabouts that are making their way to the region. Raha, for his part, is looking for some quick cash, as well as a few good stacks of fish for his own dinner. So, Raha and his... friend, are sitting in the shoreline of one of the rivers as the catman dangles his rod in the water. Said catman has a jaunty archer's hat pulled over his eyes... and might be napping.

A calm, quiet day is its own reward, some days.
Yari Takane Puff puff huff. A line reels in, one fat Black Bass on the line. Yari Takane definitely isn't here deep in enemy territory, oh no. She'd never come fish for mere workers that her people have yet to conquer. Kaitlin Sithu is, however. Because that's exactly the type of Au Ra she is.

And the filthy barbarians just don't know they're her people yet. The ninja doesn't mind doing a few things out of proper order. An operative must be flexible after all.

Another fish for the cooler. 'Kaitlin' reels up, flops the fish in, and gets to fitting bait to hook. Flick! Line snaps out, and plunks in water. Her tail offers a small flask to the Miq beside her. The ninja is clad in simple grey pants, overalls, and a straw fishing hat with a white shirt. A bit drab, but she's the picture of a wandering fisherwoman. Dusky toes and legs flex and wiggle below the dock, the woman generally looking relaxed.

"Falling asleep, Raha? You're either too trusting or confident. Drink. Wake up." She gently chides.
Sokka Sokka walked out into the world! The weird, strange, crystal filled world. The reason he was here? He'd had it suggested by the paladins and, by suggested, more they yelled at him to get down there and deal with some stuff. It was between holidays and he was told it'd be quick, so he'd come down.

And he was giving toph a bit of time with the family. So he was socializing! Sorta. The people here were weird... But no weirder than his world. At least no one walked by, with a corn cob dangling from their mouth. And socializing meant having a bit of fun!

So he'd made his way towards the dock, fish line in hand, taking up position on one of the wooden pole things that made up the dock, glancing over. A grin formed on his lips and he gave her a little wink. "Hey, beautiful, come here of--" There was a crack. He blinked. Wait, when was--

His rod went flying as the post he had been on suddenly cracked down the middle, breaking under him and sending him shrieking into the deep.

Poor Sokka, hated across all universes.
N'Raha     It's the crack and the shriek that gets the catman to start in place, his frame shaking with a start. His ears flick forward, and there's a long hiss as he nearly leaps to snag his axe nearby... when the flask is handed over. Raha sucks in a deep breath... and then looks to Yari. "Be right back."

The pirate dives into the water, looking to fish poor Sokka out if he neds it.
Yari Takane There's a deep, deep sigh. The Miq goes off, and the Au Ra nods a time or two. Her artificial hand reaches out to catch the flying pole by it's end. She kicks up one leg, and holds it with a knee. Her other hand and tail first puts the flask aside and then reels in her catch. Another fish to add to the pile. Even after setting aside Sokka's pole, she leans in to peer as the pirate goes in after Sokka.

"You really are too nice, Raha. Call me Kaitlin Sithu, Sir. Please don't drown to death."

Flick. Her line casts out. N'raha can deal with the poor young man.

"And I happen to enjoy fishing. So I'm here often." Nod nod nod. A thumbs up. Sokka might be okay in her book.
Sokka Sokka pops up a moment later, coughing and hacking. "Huh? Oh, no, I'm fine," he says quickly, giving a big, dorky grin. "Just a bruised ego, that's all." He gives a light chuckle, quickly making his way back to shore, giving a weak chuckle. "Trust me, I've fallen a lot further onto a lot softer things than that."

Once back in place on the pier, he'd give them both a grin, taking his pole back up. "Well, nice to meet you then, Kaitlin! I am Sokka, warrior of the southern water tribe!" he said with a nod. He then glanced to the other guy. "And you must be raha. Heh, and here I thought cats didn't like water. Thanks for the assistance." He plopped back down. There was a creak, he tensed, but nothing broke. "Whew. So, the fishing here pretty good? None of them have two heads, right?"
N'Raha     There's a shake of the pirate cat's head, as he starts to make his way back to shore, letting out a breath. "Hey Sokka. Yeah, I'm Raha. I think I heard your voice on StarkNet, right?" He grins, and treads water. "Welcome to Eorzea."
Yari Takane The ninja smiles a bit. Sokka is nothing if not enjoyable company. "You too. Welcome, Sokka, warrior of the...water tribe, huh? Not familiar. You must be from outside here. Could you tell me a bit about your world, and this water tribe? I like stories." Offers the ninja. She's fishing hard today, both for actual fish and information.

Sokka get! The lizard-nin watches as he's drawn back to the docks. "It's good water. Ocean fish mostly." Bobber and bait rising and falling with the tide, Yari reaches out with a free hand to the waves.

"Good fish. Good people, too. There's war on the horizon. I just hope it all turns out for the best." A glance to N'raha. Then back to Sokka.

"But a traveler like you shouldn't worry about local problems like that." A shrug, and her hand flops to her lap. Her tail raises a flask, and she slurps on it. Glug glug glug. Ahhh.

'Kaitlin' glances back. "Don't think too hard about this land. The natives obviously don't." Yari is smiling maybe a little too hard here. Thankfully she has cover on being a foreigner. She leans into it without any regret.
Sokka Sokka blinked, and then shrugged. "Sure. We lived on the south pull. My world is... hum. The bender world. You know, the people who bend the elements. Haven't seen any other worlds that call them bender or seem to have the same powers exactly. A few close, though. Southern tribe was... raided. For a while. a long while. We're recouping, though. Getting our numbers up, surviving. The war hit us pretty hard."

He shrugged. "Not a lot to say. Air nomads are almost extinct now, only one left is Aang. Fire Nation is ruled by Zuko, okay guy but a major downer. Mopes all the time. Northern and souther water tribes, though us southerners are a bit low on numbers. And earth kingdom. Stubborn, but okay guys."

He chuckled. "Really? I'm a paladin now. It's kind of my job to worry about those thing. Besides, if war comes, well, I already helped end one war, ending a second one can't be that hard," he said with a little chuckle. "And hey, this time there'll probably be more than just seven of us!"
N'Raha     End the war. Paladins. A glance at Yari, before N'raha pulls himself out of the water. "Mmmmrf. Not exactly a... a war you're just going to end." Raha flops out on the shore, and grunts. "It's a... well. The war is window dressing for the real problem."
Raha starts to wring out his tail and shake out his hair, casting water droplets all over.
Yari Takane Yari sucks in a breath, and then all but glares at N'raha. Only a momentary scowl, and her face relaxes. "Well. That isn't wrong. War is...always too cruel. Winners. Losers. Both sides suffer. The innocent people in between are the ones bear the most..." 'Kaitlin' sucks in a long breath. She lets go.

"Any amount of war creates certain trash individuals." She doesn't say it, but her voice all but sings 'like me'. Another shrug.

"Let's just say I've encountered people with that ability you've described, Mister Sokka. Good luck to your tribe. Paladin, huh? Then you adhere to laws. That's fine. Laws can be useful, but sometimes you need to abandon them for the sake of your people. Don't cling too hard to that kind of thing."

Reel reel reel. The ninja wobbles, and pulls her rather light body against the rod! Hiss-hurk! Wobble wobble! She's being pulled to the ocean!

"Don't underestimate the...Glory and Honor of...!" She kills the words on her lips, just in case! She wobbles on the dock's edge, feet dangling and swaying, tail writhing around for balance!
Sokka Sokka nodded, giving a shrug. "Ehhhh. More or less. And oh yeah. Trust me, I understand the need to break the laws. I don't think there was a single country we went to that we didn't end up on one most wanted list or another," he said with a laugh. "I mean, fire nation wanted us dead. Breaking into the palace of the earth kingdom emperor, oh yeah, that had to piss off some people. And the northern water tribe..." He trailed off and frowned. "Yeah... sometimes, they gotta be bent or broken."

And then she was starting to dip. He dropped his rod almost instantly and was on his feet, moving up besides her, one hand on the rod, the other around her waist to help steady her. "Easy. You okay? Trust me, no matter how good the fish is, leave the pier diving to the experts," he jokes.
N'Raha     The catman... shoots a glare at Sokka as he jumps up to rescue Yari, but only for a second. A protective look in the miqo'te's eyes as the water triber handles things from the safety end. "Glory and honor against your prey, Kait." A little smirk, and his tail thrashes as he gets set back up. "And trash is relative. War is too. Personally, I'm working to stop the war against this realm from rogue elements within it. Primal forces run amok, and all that." Those green eyes try to catch Yari's, looking to ascertain if she's going to be okay.
Yari Takane Yari can't help but offer a thumbs up to the water tribesman. "So you see the use of law, but won't hesitate to break it? Oh!? So you are a wanted man? Is it really alright that you say that outloud so boldly?" Comes the ninja. Then she taps her chin.

"...I guess even if that's the case, it isn't like someone could collect your price here." A hand wave. "I can respect that kind of attitude." And then she's all but about to fall into the drink, but Sokka saves the lizard girl, and Raha's up and about! She lets go of her own rod, and finally lets out a breath of relief. "...Thanks, Sokka. Fishing is one thing. But I'm no expert swimmer."

A smile to the Miq. "Prey, huh? That's right. We can agree on that much. Ei...Primals are scum, and should be utterly wiped out. Anyone who takes someone's free will by aether is even lower than trash."
Sokka Sokka shook his head. "Nope. I WAS a wanted man. Now I'm pretty unwanted." Pause. "Wait, I said that wrong. I think the law should be followed... but sometimes you need to bend it or break it. War makes criminals of us all."

And then she lets go of the rod. Leaving him to hold onto it. He lets out a yipe, as it throws him off balance and pulls him off the pier.

And, unfortunately, his arm was around the poor girl, dragging them both into the water. Sending the rod one way, sokka the other, and poor yari the other.

He rose up a moment later, coughing softly and then... "TOPH!" he yelled, then blinked. Wait. What? He shook his head. "Kaitlin!" Well, she said she couldn't swim!
N'Raha     And there we go again, only this time Yari's heading into th drink as well. The Miqo'te's eyes narrow, but there's a very... feline motion from the young man, as he twists in place, plants his feet, and leaps into the water after the Au Ra.

A long moment as he opens his eyes under the surface, and then kicks around. There's a sudden /flash/ of energy and the catman surges to reach the side of the Nin, arms loking to push and lift her to the surface and to precious air.

Leaving him under the water for the moment. He's fine though. He's a pirate captain.
Yari Takane SPLOOSH! Right in the drink. The young man howls, and 'Kaitlin' looks towards him. She smiles. There's no deception here. It's utterly warm.

"Mister Sokka. I said I wasn't an expert swimmer. That doesn't mean I'd instantly drown."

She vaguely floats, watch as her fishing rod flops on the deck. Her gaze turns.

And then there's Raha. She finds herself caught by the Miq, just in time to save her from any drop-and-scuttling in the water. There's a breath that's long and hard. She leans, and lets both men take her weight for a moment before just floating along. Lizards like her aren't exactly heavy, after all.

"Don't waste energy on me. I'm not worth it." She offers to both, before relaxing. A thumbs up. "Dinner's on me, both of you."
