Nagato     It's afternoon when that distress signal comes out... the supply convoy making its monthly rounds to the Hikari Seaport, stopped thirty miles from destination. Reports coming in that it's enemy light cruisers, though, the transport fleet couldn't see everything. Nagato's call goes out on the radio, "Attention Fleet, distress signal at point. Our transport fleet's under attack by enemy light cruisers, unknown other signals. Get ready to sortie. Kagurazaka is Flagship for the run, listen to her orders."

Back at the Transport Fleet, there's at least three light cruisers, all lower class Abyssals, haranging the transport ships heading. At least one ship is on fire. Though, something's not right about this fleet transport, there's too few....
Yari Takane Yari is on base today! Mostly in order to check up on the progress of her new home! Clad in her usual kimono, the ninja is making her way towards the docks for some semi-legal fishing when the alarm sounds. She pauses.

Yari made a promise. Time to prove herself. A few seconds later, there's a fishing pole, a folded kimono, and a bucket on the docks where there was once a ninja. A tiny reed sticks out of the water. Below, Yari makes sure to maintain some distance from her would-be allies. Time to investigate.
Gaonoir Some come by see, others come by air. Or at least Gaonoir is coming from air, having already evolved into his Perfect form before launching from the base. This wasn't a time to be taken lightly. Supplies were extremely important to any military effort, especially one like the Fleet that had come to embrace so many different operatives and needs beyond the ship-girl spirits it had once been.

Altitude does give the digimon a so-called bird's eye view, and as the Transport Fleet's last noted location starts to come into range his aviator visor flashes, going into scanner mode. Let's see if he can get a better read on just what they're going up against before the main response gets too close.
Yuna Kagurazaka Her first mission as a flagship.

Yuna would be lying through her teeth if she said she wasn't nervous about it, but a piece of her is also sort of excited. She doesn't usually look forward to fighting, and yet the chance to lead a fleet - to organize them, to guide them in accomplishing the mission ...

She's still grappling with what this 'means' for her as she enters the launch bay and goes through the equipping process. It's mostly the same light-cruiser equipment she's used to (and the same team of equipment fairies); the biggest change at the moment is that the uniform she wears underneath it is the touched-up version she was given for Christmas. She knows what the formations are, she has a general sense of what purpose they serve; she just has to make sure that the transport fleet makes it safely to Hikari and that the rest of the 'ships' under her command return more or less intact.

Light Cruiser Kagurazaka comes to a halt - probably a short one - a short ways outside the mouth of the launching bay, to make sure of who's coming with her and to organize their formation. She's checking radar and sonar as she waits, just in case there are any surprises afoot in the waters near Hikari.
Kirito Never trust the initial reports. There's bound to be more than a few 'light cruisers' going after a valuable transport fleet. Of this, Kirito's certain.

What wasn't a certain thing was his arrival to begin with. The Spriggan's emergence from the warp gate is without fanfare, and without ceremony. With little warning he thrums up his fairy wings, rocketing off from the warp gate down across the beach and out to sea. FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!!

His passage is low to the water, so the small swordsman scatters a huge wave in his wake on his way towards the convoy...
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone is quick to arrive at the fleet base rapidly change out of her clothing get her gear on and make to the launch bay. It won't take long before she's making ready to launch herself. She always does feel like a Shrine Maiden when she does this but she's got used to it and simple glad she's able to help though.. She is soon out on the water with brow in hand ad she stakes across the water and will be following after Yuna who is incharge of this run.

<<Copy that command Yamakawa deploying>>

With that in mind she's got tbe bow out and is deploying several scout planes as she goes.
Nagato     Over the radios Nagato speaks up, "Suzuya shall be joining you late. Kirito, please listen to the Flagship if you're going to join." This is all she says as she sits back, listening to the radios for the Flagship and her Fleet's conversations. She looks up to Mutsu with a curious look upon her face, only to be greeted by that kind smile.

The scouting mission goes off without a hitch once the girls (and Kirito) gets close enough. It does seem that there's only three light cruisers, nothing major... until an enemy aircraft, a simple scout plane, buzzes overhead. Enemy firing upon the convoy stops briefly as burbles and gurgles and other Abyssal communique noises are given... and they break off to head in the direction of the allied scouts...
Gaonoir Is there really only three ships? It looks like i... but wait, there's one of those little plane drones they use....

Gaonoir pulls up, thrusters shifting to a hover holding position. Think it's safe to say it spotted them.

Shadowy energy starts to charge around his gauntlets, but he's just holding position and 'arming' his guns as it were, not actually firing any shots.
Yuna Kagurazaka Okay, thinks Kagurazaka. Gaonoir is on his way to get a better look at things. That's useful, he can get a better look at things while the surface ships are on their way. Yamakawa is greeted with a brief salute (maybe not quite in line with protocol, but better than a casual wave, right?); then Kagurazaka takes a quick look to see who else is --

And there goes a suspiciously familiar black blur. Kagurazaka only knows a couple of people who are friendly, dress in that color, and are casually capable of high-speed flight. Evangeline would be a lot more distinctive, and she *doesn't* have buzzing insect-like wings sprouting from her back. With that combination of evidence stifling her surprised exclamation, Kagurazaka chides Kirito (at least, that's her best guess whom it is) and sets off with Yamakawa. Only the two of them, plus (she thinks) two flying allies ... but at least the enemy cruisers are turrning their attention away. This could still be difficult.

It would have been *less* difficult if they'd been better-organized ... the irony of which is not lost on the blonde idol-turned-warrior-turned-shipgirl-friend. If she's going to scold Kirito later, maybe she owes somebody else an apology, even if grudging.

Well, they still all need to make it home intact. Kagurazaka loads torpedoes and shells, checks her line of fire plus the airspace above said line, and glances to Yamakawa.

"Stay line-abreast for now, watch your sonar ... other than that, fire at will!"

And Kagurazaka's gun turrets speak in sequence, hurling regular armor-piercing shells towards one of the Abyssal cruisers.
Suzuya "SuzuKuma, arriving fashionably late!" Two girls in identical uniforms, one with aqua hair and one with brown, skate along the waves. They come, not from Hikari seaport, but from the open seas, fresh from a short-term recon sortie.

The brunette gives Suzuya a -look- and sighs. "I wish you would stop squashing our names together like that, Suzuya. Someone will confuse me with Kuma or big sister Mikuma and then where would we be?"

"Aww, but SuzuKuma sounds so cool!" Suzuya flashes a grin back to her sister and raises a hand. "Sorry we're late! Yuubari ended up bringing along too much equipment and ran low on fuel, so Maikaze's seeing us back to base. So it's just us today!"

All the while Suzuya is grinning and waving like an idiot, Kumano gives her sister a longsuffering look and bows briefly in apology. "Let us see to the Abyssals first, then we can play around later."
Yari Takane Just three ships. And no apparent enemies. Using the wake of the ships gliding over the water as cover for herself, the wetsuit'd ninja has nothing but her 'allies' to go on, and of course the sounds of Abyssals soon firing.

Yari bides her time under water. Eventually, she breaks away deeper from the battle group with a deep breath. Diving deeper under water, she tries to get closer to the Abyssals as they're fired upon. A glance to try to sort out their types. But most of all, she's using her Magitek Gauntlet to try to sus out any submarines or other Abyssal fleet using this as an ambush.

There's also something that she's pulled out that looks suspiciously like a harpoon, if a harpoon had a crane-game like grabby claw along with the pointy end.
Nagato     It doesn't take long for the firefight to begin, the trio of light cruisers ready their guns and send out screaming shells towards the two surface 'ships' that are firing. There's chatter between them 'why do they have a light carrier and a cruiser with them?' comes at least some unintellagble chatter... the third one, however, aims its guns to the sky and starts peppering the sky with anti air fire to take care of the two 'aircraft' in the sky.

Hanging back, hoever, is a small enemy light carrier, fighters and dive bombers go buzzing through the sky and start on their flight path, dark spots pinging in Yamakawa's and Kagurazaka's radar... and what's worse, Kagurazaka's SONAR pings.. with two contacts, just as an enemy torpedo goes buzzing along side Yari's body in a too close shave!
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa is now attempting to gather data for the fleet, with the scout planes out. The plans head out ahead of the rest of he formation. She's keeping an eye out for anyhitng she might find in her way. She nos once to Yuna. "Aye aye Ma'me."

Even if Yuna had so far as Kotone knows? Basically retired from the potlical stage of the multiverse? It was good to see her out an about as she went she also noticed they had some more suppor come as Suzuya jons long with Kumano Oky thing wer looking up for he as eveyrone joined in.

WIth her planes reporting back in she's got an idea of what they got to fight however something doesn't seem right here she readies to deploy a wing of fighters and gets some torpedo bombers up in the air shortly after them.

The Fighters move to engage the abyssal ones while Kotone looks for posibly other targets while checking the reports from her sonar there may be something out there.
Gaonoir Thrusters flare and Gaonoir breaks his hovering position to duck and juke around a bit to avoid most of the anti-aircraft fire. A few shots flare as they ring off his bionic suit, but it's not enough to break through and deter the Digimon. Just keeps him from swooping straight at the enemy.

"Time to show them what real air superiority is."

As he pulls out of the final swerve Gaonoir stops, putting both of his glowing gauntlets together. "SOMBRA VULCAN!" The darkness swirling breaks apart, only to go hurtling towards the carrier trying to hid in the backline of the fight in a shower of dozens of streaks of dark energy.

Hopefully that will thin out some of the swarms of aircraft being launched off. If he manages to actually hit its deck, even better
Yari Takane That was a little too close! Yari makes quite a few rotationsin the water as she's almost torpedo'd right in the face! Her hair floats a little more, and she's gotten a very not-pretty buzzcut on her left side! More enemies though!

Her first though it to ignore the small fry and go for the cruiser. But even she doesn't want to be that far behind enemy lines. So, instead, she turns her grabby-claw-harpoon for a dark shape in the water! Then, she fires! The ninja is going fishing for Abyssals, and tonight she wants a sub! Her umbrella-sword is drawn with her tail, and as the thing starts to drag in, she aims to try to stab whatever she's gotten on the line!

Hopefully without eating a torpedo for lunch.
Kirito Guns towards the sky, huh? It's a good thing Kirito's chosen to fly low to the water! It also makes it hard for enemies above to know just what in the world he is... but.

That surprise is only good for one time only! And Kirito decides to use it. Tilting his wings with a few scrunches of back muscles Kirito shifts thrust down and so ROCKETS UPWARDS at ludicrous speeds, straight into a formation of Abyssal fighters. His sword's out in a hurry, and instantly glows as he activates a spinning-slash aerial Sword Skill that sends gusts of razor wind a few meters in all directions near his first target! "HAAAAYAH!"
Yuna Kagurazaka Three cruisers to attack a transport convoy did seem a little sparse to Kagurazaka. But the two sonar contacts with them, plus the light carrier showing up behind the Abyssal cruisers -

"YEEK!!" She abruptly leans hard enough to starboard to risk capsizing, *JUST BARELY* managing not to take a highly-explosive shell to the face. The next one would have come even closer if not for a desperate snap-shot from the 'rifle' that constitutes her fifth turret ... and even then, the explosion itself passes over and around her, leaving Kagurazaka coughing from the heat and smoke, her uniform taking some extra damage from the shrapnel passing by. She'll need to test out the sickbay for non-kanmusu when she gets back, it seems ... and her new uniform will need mending.

And cleaning, of course.

Those submarines are a major concern, but Kagurazaka's first spread of torpedoes is addressed to the Abyssal cruisers as she tries to regain her bearings. Line-abreast would be best for the submarines, but they'd be easier prey for the surface ships of which there are more ... or she could divide her forces and hope for the best. Kagurazaka's mind is racing as she weighs her options against the known Abyssals. "Suzuya, Kumano, flank me and Yamakawa, line-abreast formation!" she orders. "All ships, reload and get ready; we're sailing right over those subs, so whoever's got depth charges, prime them for drop! Those without anti-sub gear, focus on those cruisers before they cut us apart! Kirito, Ganoir, take out that carrier on your next pass - whatever you can do to it, that's your target!"

Her own next spread of torpedoes may not be ready in time for anti-sub work, but hopefully they won't be needed for more than mop-up. While her equipment fairies are working on that, Kagurazaka focuses on sonar - there are indeed three shapes in the water, and one seems to be attacking the others. Her teeth gritting slightly, Kagurazaka sends a quick message with her sonar pings, hoping her grasp of Morse is good enough ...
Suzuya No sooner do Suzuya and Kumano get in range than they begin ducking and weaving around incoming fire. "Tch.. can't even wait, can they?" The guns on her thighs rotate up and fire, sending an arc of four shells in toward the light cruisers.

Kumano's thigh guns follow suit, though she narrows her eyes a bit as she sees some of the enemy fire go upwards. "It looks like they were ready for an aerial strike. But.." Her eyes scan down again, and she reaches over to tap her sister on the shoulder. "Suzuya. They have carrier support."

Suzuya slaps a hand to her forehead. "Ah... great! And Melon's got our anti-air guns on her!" She fires another volley at the light cruisers before cupping a hand next to her mouth to call out, "Just keep the bombers off us! Suzuya and Kumano can bring the firepower!" She grins, hoisting up the large gun mounted on her shoulder bag. "Suzuya will show you abyssals not to underestimate the power of a heavy cruiser!" With a loud bang, the two guns fire, launching heavier shells into the abyssal formation.

After firing, the two heavy cruisers pull up in line with Kotone and Yuna. "No depth charges aboard, but leave it to us to lay down some cover fire!"

"That is correct! So long as we do not need to worry about those submarines..." Kumano takes aim with her shoulder bag gun as well, then lets out a squeaky, "TOOOOoooooOOOOOooo~!" as she fires as well.
Nagato     The Abyssal Fleet's getting put on edge with the sudden appearance of a pair of enemy heavy cruisers and now the actions of the enemy anti air wings. Kotone's fighters help take out quite a few of the enemy bombers while Gaonoir's streaks of dark energy rain down on the carrier, the big bulbous head takes quite a few hits, bleeding that black, oily substance into the ocean, visibly slowing down as it spits out a few more bombers. Kirito's razor wind attack is, fortunately, super effective against the enemy fighters, cutting them to shreds before they can even start firing at the flying strength. A few bombers do get through and make an attack run towards Kumano, their jets screaming as they pick up speed.

Kumano's and Suzuya's guns, however, streak off towards the light cruisers, the shells crashing right into one of the ships, it seemed to get in front of the FLagship that time... and for its hubrus, it explodes violently, sinking down into the watery depths while Yuna's own torpedo spread whizzes past the enemy submarines and explode into the Flagship this time, causing it to list slightly, but still press its approach. While underwater, Yari's Grabby Harpoon latches onto one of the submarine's and the sudden stab causes it to gurlge in water and bleed that black oily blood like substance. It loses its way and its eyes stare at Yari, an evil, hateful stare, it rips the rebreather it had on... and mouths only one word to the ninja. 'Traitor'
Gaonoir Gaonoir smirks a bit, putting one fist into the other palm and cracking the knuckles with a metallic ring due to his large gauntlets. He likes when orders are what he was intending to do anyways. Makes things easier. "Now that the shooting is done..."

Energy flares from his jet engines and bomber scarf gives a dramatic flap as Gaonoir pulls up, does a backwards loop, and comes out of it to dive right towards the enemy carrier. In his experience the best way to keep someone's attention is to get right up in their face. Or what passes for it.

Midway through the dive he abruptly pulls up from it, not to stop, but to twist his body around to put the momentum behind one of his bionic feet whipping at the Abyssmal's 'face' at nearly supersonic speed. "ECLIPSE DROPKICK!"
Yari Takane More code flits through the water, and Yari's gauntlet picks it up. It takes a second, but she gets the message! Before you can comply, though, there's a little issue of her catch. A sub! The thing snatches off that rebreather, and mutters a word. She doesn't let the thing continue to speak, tail thrusting the sword the rest of the way into the other sub's chest.

A shake of the head, and she kicks off of the creature's body as the Fleet arrives. She's running out of air. Swimming back, she'll form up far to the side of the group. A reed pokes out of the water. Delicious oxygen. Reloading her weapon, she waits for an opportunity to strike again...or assist her allies.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa will do her damneest to support Yuna and now she gets the pings of the Submarines now are located. Or she has an idea of where they are she's going to strt to deploy the torpedo bombers go go after them in the hope she'll be able to deal with them or at least keep them at bay from going after the others in the fleet. She looks at the tow Heavy cruiser spull up along side with her and Yuna.

"Understood."

She keeps tabs on her Torpedo bombers now which were in the air. She keeps from entirely sitting still as she doesn't want to get sunk. She honestly is afraid of what might happens if the Abyssals somehow caught her. An Old nightmare she had flares up and she puhes those memories down to focus on the batlte. Also damn there's Kirito so he is alive and still in hte sector it seems.
Yuna Kagurazaka -- oh *hell* no their aircraft are getting through --

One, two of Kagurazaka's turrets snap upwards fast enough to strain the mechanisms, and one, two shells are lobbed at the oncoming bombers. These are normal anti-ship shells, not anti-air, it's going to take a *lot* of luck to take out more than one or two of those bombers. Her anti-air machine guns start firing as well, trying to add to the screen that the bombers will have to get through to hurt her allies, but ...

The submarines are still a bigger, more worrisome threat, even if one of them is out of the fight. A quick Morse 'thank-you' is pinged out to their mysterious ally, and then Kagurazaka looks to Yamakawa. "One enemy sub down, one to go ..."

She checks her sonar one more time, and begins chucking her depth charges, trying to help finish what their terribly shy friend began. Things seem to be going well.

Why does she expect a disaster to break out all of a sudden ... ?
Suzuya "One down!" Suzuya lets out a little whoop as one of the Abyssal light cruisers sinks. "Too bad it wasn't their flagship, though! Kumano! Let's try to aim better next time."

Aside from a little fistpump, Kumano doesn't celebrate too much. After all, there are still plenty of enemies out there! "It is difficult when they cover each other, but let us try our best!" The torpedoes streaking by in the water make her a bit nervous, but she trusts the others to handle the submarines. She'll have to! And then there's the carrier...

"I know what you're thinking, Kumano." Suzuya glances over to her sister. "We're not quite in range yet. But soon! They make Suzuya really nervous, too. But we gotta count on our fleetmates, right?" It's a bit of bravado put forward for her sister. Suzuya is definitely nervous about those planes, though she lets out a breath of relief as a few more of them are knocked from the sky. "R..right! Let's keep on those cruisers!"

The pair both lift their arms, aiming the turrets there toward the remaining light cruisers. "Ha!" "HWAAAAA~!"
Kirito No matter how many times Kirito sees Abyssals, he's always creeped out. Their freakish bio-mechanical-ghost bodies are a level of uncanny freaky he's just not going to acclimate to anytime soon. But the wreckage of fighters rains around him. THAT much he's familiar with and glad to see, for now...

"But it's a pity. Why can't they realize... there's no point in these attacks?" Weird ship ghosts will be weird, he supposes. Either set them to rest with his sword or convincing them hatred isn't the answer... either is fine, right?

Though the Black Swordsman's frowning as he thinks that. Sure, it would be great if he could shout the enemy fleet down. But words alone won't help most of these lost spirits...

Clenching his teeth, he enters a steep DIVE and pulls up at the last moment, bringing him on a crash course for the Carrier! "If you want to turn around now, it's fine with me!" Kirito states... before shifting his grip on his weapon and unleashing a single-strike non-Elemental Sword Skill. his weapon shines and flies for his opponent at freakish speeds... but he's using the flat of the blade, not the edge.

A warning strike, it seems. Because he hates cutting girls.
Nagato     The shots from Yuna's guns manage to shoot a couple down but the lone dive bomber rushes in... and hits the water instead, splashing up a column of water over Kumano while depth charges from the light cruiser sink in... and explode, denting the other submarine there while Kotone's bombers finish it off in a glory of explosions. The enemy cruisers continue to advance, letting out streams of anti air fire to try and protect their carrier from the likes of Kirito and Gaonoir and regular gunfire to try and smash the enemy Flagship! The second cruiser gets an idea and starts chucking its own depth charges to try and scuttle Yari.

The Carrier, however, has a pair of people purposely and pointedly pounding at it, the sword skill with the flag of the blade striking home, denting the head quite nicely, causing the carrier to lurch forward and with Gaonoir's drop kick, there's a very loud 'SNAP' coming from the carrier before it falls face first into the ocean. And with the skies now clear of aircraft, Kumano and Suzuya's own shells arc up towards the cruisers and on simultaneous impact, fell the second to last cruiser on formation.

Sensing something wrong, or more, something dangerous, the last cruiser turns ... and a spread of torpedoes is launched towards the transport fleet before it starts to hightail it out of there!
Yuna Kagurazaka It's less 'this is going too well' and more a general sense of 'something usually goes wrong or gets worse' on the part of Kagurazaka's gut; still, the carrier is being damaged badly enough to force the Abyssals to retreat.

... but not without a lovely parting gift, if by 'lovely' you mean 'highly explosive'. Kagurazaka is *sure* the transports can't take the torpedo hits; she's less sure that the fleet can, and she blurts out the order without taking the time to think through the ramifications.

Well, it was a short but lovely flagshiphood. Kagurazaka pours on the speed as well, getting her last depth charges ready. She's not sure *she* can survive tanking a torpedo hit, and Suzuya's questioning the order is totally understandable.

She never trained for this, except in one sense: to protect the innocent or those in need, Yuna Kagurazaka will gladly take the brunt of an attack herself. In her Light Suit, she at least has a sturdy kite shield; out here, she has nothing but herself and whatever armor her loadout permits her.

But she has to get close enough to do ANYTHING before she can worry about whether she can survive a torpedo strike or three (or even two). She'll lead with her depth charges, trying to time them to detonate just as they enter the water; if those don't do the trick and the heavier battleships can't get there in time, she'll risk blowing up her own engines to try and shield the transports.

And if everything fails? At least she'll have a front-row seat to her own failure.

Boy, is Nagato going to be *pissed* at her ...
Gaonoir Gaonoir doesn't get a chance to celebrate the Abyssal Carrier going down, his head snapping in the direction of the Transport Fleet when Yuna asks for an update. Tch, why are they still here when the attackers took their attention off of them to fight? They should of been getting out of here as soon as they cou--

There's a ping off to the side on his scanners and he shifts his head again, digital HUD flickering and locking onto the oblong shapes shooting through the water.

"Ah null!" No time to bother with a response beyond that. Engines roar like a monster awakeneing as the Digimon hurtles himself over the same path the torpedos are taking.

Dammit, no time to try and blast them with his disruptive pulse, he might hit the transports.

So Gaonoir dives and tries to grab a couple of the torpedos with his large gauntlets. And if he manages to yank them out of the water fly up. "Ya forgot something!" And fling one at the cruiser trying to run away.

If Erika was here she'd probably make a 'fetch' one-liner.
Yari Takane KABOOM! Or a muted one, anyway. Yari swims away rapidly as she narrowly avoids a full blast from the depth charges. Forced to fall back, her side wounded from the impact, she can feel at least one broken rib in there.

And it's a fortuitous timing, as she spies those torpedoes. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what's about to happen. Hands clasp together, and multiple handseals churn up the water around her. With one last breath from the reed tube, she dives under water to where she hopes is going to be the path of the torpedoes. Then she breathes out.

The water churns, as an oil slick starts to spread out beneath the waves. Spying Yuna on the approach, she makes sure to leave room so as not to endanger her ally.

Then, swimming away, a single hand rises from the water. Flick. Toss, just as the torpedoes approach.

If all goes well, a few torpedoes will get caught up in that oil slick when Yari's lighter hits the now oily water.
Suzuya "One more down!" There's no time to celebrate, though, because torpedoes! Time for evasive maneuvers! Kumano peels off to one side, and Suzuya is about to do the same when she hears the call from Yuna... and it's such an unexpected one that she nearly loses her balance, wheeling an arm out to the side to keep from faceplanting right into the waves.

"Wh...what did..?" For a moment, Suzuya looks at Yuna like she's crazy... but then she glances at the transports and lets out a long sigh. "You owe Suzuya a parfait at Mamiya's for this!"

Bracing herself, Suzuya changes course, making a beeline right for the torpedo spread. "This is gonna s---!" Whatever she was about to say is drowned out in a series of explosions and spouts of water, along with a cry of pain. "Kyaa!"

When the mist and smoke clears, Suzuya is much lower in the water, her feet and ankles invisible below the waves. She staggers a bit, charred holes burned in her clothing, with her blazer in tatters. "Nnn..." Kumano turns to aid her sister, but Suzuya holds up a hand. "Don't get too close in case there are more!"
Kotone Yamakawa Teamwork that's how it done here, she's always felt welcome by the fleet and has not regretted helping them. Even when she ends up under attack. IT's just life traveling in the multiverse, wait how did that normal way of thinking for herself? She sends her bombers in as they finish off one of the enemy craft she'll deploy another squadron but it looks like they are going not quite be done yet, with the Abyssal threat. She has her bombers make more runs and knows she's not got the armour to tank the hits but she'll try to cover her allies with more air cover so they just have to worry about that.

"Damn it..."
Kirito Down goes the Carrier. Kirito shivers mid-flight, but there's nothing he can do about this. Drawing him from that... he hears a call for help. DESPERATE call. Stop those torpedoes...

A quick scan of the battlefield and Kirito sees exactly which ones need to be dealt with. Wings thrum to full power and he's off with a whistly-THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM of rushing air. he swoops low, flying MUCH faster than the torpedoes can plunge through the water.

In moments the Spriggan's pulled past them, now gaining on them... "Just a little farther... " Explosions ring out behind him thanks to the efforts of others... but a glance over his shoulder reveals one ominous shape still cutting through the water.

    "Not on my watch... NOW!"

Kirito spins around and spreads his wings to brake at full power. This is a horribly jarring manuever that'll have him reeling even after he's out of FullDive... but for now?

For now, he levels his weapon down at his side... and it shines green. One-Handed Sword Skill - Vorpal Strike!

"I've got this...!" The timing on this manuever is insane. Kirito has only one way to strike something underwater without getting in the explosion himself. That being this Sword Skill, fired at an angle that's nearly impossible to manage... and midair, for that matter.

Vorpal strike. His glowing blade shoots forward so fast that a thin razor wind shockwave keeps on going once the thrust finishes. The magical energy hits the water... but it doesn't stop.

Striking an underwater target with a sword skill launched in flight with exacting timing and range... is not an easy feat.
Nagato     That request isn't to be taken lightly and Nagato's doing a double take at her radio in the Admiral's Office... "Did she... seriously?" she curls up a hand into a fist and slams the table, "That's not on the list... that's not even an approved method!" Mutsu pats Nagato on the shoulder, "Ara... she'll be fine, sister... just have faith."

Meanwhile, back at the battleground, those torpedoes streak quickly towards the Transport Fleet! Two of them, however, are fortunately snatched up by Gaonoir and sent flying back to the light cruiser, who's head turns around and eyes go wide as those torpedoes are turned back against her... and with a massive explosion, the cruiser is no longer there.

Yari's own abilities cause two more to be flipped into the oil slick, the two torpedoes going dead in the water before the newfound flames from Yari's lighter ignites the oil and a loud explosion sends shrapnel everywhere, but that's two more that aren't going to the transports! Suzuya does manage to tank two of the torpedoes, preventing them from injuring innocent civilians, though, the repair times will be quite large for that Heavy Cruiser. Maybe three parfaits.

Kirito's own capabilities catch up with that last torpedo and with that sword skill, the explosion rocks the transport but ultimately, no harm done to it. The enemy fleet and the last bit of danger has finally been destroyed... leaving the transport crew to cheer from their decks. "This is Captain Aheb, thank you, kanmusu, for the assistance. We'll be heading towards Hikari, we would ask if you would accompany us but one of your own looks injured, so we wish you a safe trip back."
Yuna Kagurazaka If it saved the transports? Kagurazaka would give up her life and have Elner update her will to put all her savings into buying parfaits for Suzuya, Kumano, and everyone else, for as long as the money lasted.

Thankfully, it doesn't come anywhere near that. Her allies are a combination of faster and more inventive, and Kagurazaka gets to see as the torpedoes are picked off. The burning oil slick gives her a few vague guesses as to who their friendly underwater shadow might be, but she literally can't be sure until she gets to lay eyes on their mysterious(ly shy) benefactor. Gaonoir does something she never would have expected, but she's too worried about the transports to look at the last Abyssal getting taken out with commendable pizzazz.

She's probably going to regret NOT seeing that for herself, but the adrenaline is already burning off, and it's only Captain Ahab mentioning 'one of your own looks injured' when she remembers that she is, in fact, scorched and bleeding.

And in pain. How did she not notice that earlier?

Kagurazaka raises her left arm to wave/salute to the transports' crew and officers, then leans carefully into a turn towards Hikari. She'd kind of prefer to be going literally anywhere else, but she needs to turn in her fit-out and uniform, get her injuries tended, and wait for Nagato to light into her for almost blowing the mission.
Gaonoir Gaonoir is still midair, even as he turns away from the torpedo's explosion taking down the cruiser that had fired the spread, flicking his scarf back into place over his shoulder. There's something about blowing up an enemy with their own projectile that makes it feel even more good than usual. Maybe it's that little bit of his darker side enjoying it.

Though what's really important is that it helped save the transports. Speaking of which.

"Kagurazaka." The digimon keeps it formal as he turns to look to the idol. "I can fly escort back to Hikari with them while you pick up here."
Yari Takane The shadow in the water is gone almost as quick as it came. Somewhere near the transports, that sonar blip seems to dissappear. Fire rages, the enemy is gone, and Yari wouldn't envy the dressing-down that Yuna's going to be getting if she knew of it.

In the cargo hold of one of the transports, the newest crew member straightens her cap, and tries not to lean on her side too much. She nods to another member of the crew. A light is offered, and it's smooth sailing.

No record of that crewmember is ever found, and she's never seen by the crew again.
Suzuya "Did we do it? Are the transports safe?" Suzuya wobbles a bit on her feet, and Kumano finally rushes to her side, offering a shoulder to lean on.

"The battle is over, Suzuya. Let us get you back home and into the docks." Kumano lets out a sigh. "I did not expect you to do that with no warning. Please be more careful next time!"

Letting out a nervous laugh, Suzuya nods. "Next time Suzuya runs headlong into torpedoes, she will remember to do it one at a time. Suzuya promises both of you, Kumano." All this while, she's addressing an empty spot in front of her, eyes swirling.

"Let us... let us get home, yes." Kumano shifts her weight to better support her sister and begins to head back in the direction of the seaport.
Kotone Yamakawa Kotone Yamakawa Can only watch in horror for a moment as Yuna moves to take the hit, Kotone makes redy to go to recover her friend if it comes down to it. She sees the enemy vessel are handled and her fighters tht remain are being recalled she skate along forming up side with Yuna and the res tof hte fleet she also gets a look at Kirito whose crazy flying stunts too in the princess. " did well we saveed the convoy and didn't lose anyone."

She'll move to help anyone who needs help getting back to port and gives Gao, a grin while looking to Suzya and gives them a thumbs up and waves to Kirito and yari.
