Ainsley     -- Somewhere in the Great Ocean --

Omens. Cursed ones. The damned. The creatures were called a lot of terrible things, and after the right research, Ainsley discovered it was solely based on ancient, primitive prejudice... because they were often the prey of supernatural creatures that would try to possess them in times of great stress and pain. They were ideal hosts. In truth, they were many subspecies of four foot fuzzy humanoids that lived among their archipelagos, subsisting entirely off of fish and island vegetation. That country was an enormous array of islands, and each island once contained these beings, but fear and hatred had whittled them down to a small sanctuary island containing a town, at least in this region. Many had already fled long ago and live in more isolated regions.

That's what brings the sympathizers onto the ship that's ferrying them to the nearest warp gate large enough to handle them. Unfortunately, this is not a short journey. The calm seas are eerily quiet while the enormous magitech ship rumbles across the surface, hoping to bring freedom to its helpless passengers.

Ainsley sits on the fore of the ship on the railing, her legs dangling and her hands on her thighs. She stares out into the ocean with an anxious frown on her face. She's equipped for a fight, and she knows it's coming.

    --

"Pirates. Normally they don't frequent these waters, but they're suspected to have been hired as privateers by benefactors that want to capture these people. They'll be prepared to fight, and to kill, in order to complete their mission."

It's a briefing room on the ship, with the interested parties gathered around. Behind her on a screen are recon photos of the pirate ships, small ships that seem to be a part of an enormous fleet meant to harry larger vessels by being too fast to strike and too numerous to dwindle their numbers meaningfully, at least with the weapons of a single ship.

"Make no mistake: I will not expect you to pull your punches if, or when, they show up. But I advise that you attempt to capture at least some of them alive. We need proof that they've been hired to do this and we won't have that if they're all dead. Keep your wits about you. I trust you all to know how to handle yourselves in a fight."

    --

Ainsley crosses her arms and turns her head, scanning the horizon. The pirate ships are not yet visible, but the radar has already picked up a few movements, turning the crew of the ship into a hive of panicked hornets.

The ship only has the command tower, more of a bulb on the rear of the bronze-colored glowing vehicle, on top, with the rest of the deck open to the air. The ship cuts through the waves like an enormous sword, carrying very little turbulance and plenty of room for a fight on the top deck. Based on what Ainsley was saying, they'll need to be fighting pirates off the ship to keep them from getting below deck. If they get to the escaping innocents, they may just kill them instead of capturing them if their original mission is too difficult.

There's some time to get ready. A fight is coming.
Evangeline      After the briefing, the little Neuroi known as Evangeline is sitting on the railing beside Ainsley. As usual, Evangeline is very quiet and very still. She is just sitting there, legs pointed out since she can't really bend them and her featureless face watching the horizon. The only thing moving is her cat tail, which is slowly swaying up and down in a wave-like motion.

She is busy thinking how she seems to meet creatures not unlike herself wherever she goes. Persecuted for things that they have not done due to the actions of others of the same kind. But, it has been a long time since she saw Ainsley, and so she turns her head a bit to 'look' at the lizard woman. "...it has been a long time..." she says in that soft voice of hers, which as usual comes from the watch around her arm rather than her face. Eva can't think of anything else to say.
Frankenstein     Berserker's there, a hand on the railing near Ainsley, listening to her Master intently as she speaks and preps the people on board and with the immediate group on everything. Water wasn't something the Berserker liked to be near but her Master needed her here and that's what she was going to do. Her job as a Servant was to defend her and anything that would want to prevent her and her Master from winning the grail war... even if said threats had no interest in the war in of itself.

She holds the Bridal Chest in her other hand, looking at her Master. She leans the Bridal Chest up against the railing and places a hand upon Ainsley's shoulder in an attempt to comfort her... or at least let her know that her Servant is there to help. She recalls the briefing and a small nod comes to her head once more, "Master." she speaks slowly, "I will. Defend you. And crew." she's to the point at least, a soft nod coming to her as she scans the horizon.

Sparks flow from the Bridal Chest to the Berserker's horn and earfins, a low, solemn groan as she awaits with patience to do what she does best. Wreck the crap out of those intending to harm those she protects.
Maya Maya goe the general idea of what was going on, people whose major crime were being easier bait for occult horrors to snatch. She looks to Ainsley for a moment.

"Dealing with Pirates? Sounds like home."

She'll accept surrenders from anyone who does so, but if she's got to take out a few pirates? Maya won't olose any sleep about it. She nods to Ainsley. 5R
"Right can't get them to sing if we don't have any of them alive."

Maya's been waiting for the moment but she's been prepping her weaqpons and cards, The Junker seems set for a fioght all right as she cradledher rifleand waitedfor the point to move.
Gaonoir As the briefing went on in the ship's meeting room, both Gaonoir and his Tamer were keeping to the back, leaning against a wall. The digimon had his arms crossed over his chest and his head down a bit, though his ears were perked to listening as one would expect a dog's to be, while Erika was taking notes on a notepad app on her smartphone/digivice.

When the Watch got word of this evacuation needing help and that it would be by ship, they had been pointed at assisting because of their previous experience with maritime ops with the Hikari Fleet.

But while he was listening, Gaonoir was also a bit in deep thought. He couldn't help but consider how, had things not changed for him in the Multiverse, he would of been one of the persecutors instead. This was darkly similar to the way Yggdrassil tried to wipe out all Digimon that didn't match it's concept of acceptable. The way it had wanted to wipe out both the Demon Lords and the X-Digimon simply for being different from it's views. Sure, the Demon Lords WERE evil, mostly... but the other digimon... digimon -he- had helped hunt down and...

A faint snort came from the canid monster. But that's why he was here, wasn't it? He couldn't change the past, but he could at least make amends towards the future.

    --

The alerts from picking up distance hostiles on the radar had long since put the time for introspect at an end. Time to do his duty and put the emotions aside for later. Gaonoir took a few steps out onto the deck, and squinted. They couldn't see the enemy yet, but they knew they were out there. "These people are counting on us. Not just for their safety, but for their chance at a new life."

Erika remained back by the entrance to the tower, but gripped her device tightly in her hand as she adjusted her glasses with the other. "No holding back, then?"
Gaonoir nodded in return. "No holding back. For them." Oh how times have changed.

"Right then." Purple and grey motes of digital energy started to radiate around the D-Port as Erika held it up and out, channeling her own desire to help through it. "DIGIVICE, ONLINE. ULTIMATE EVOLUTION, EXECUTE!"

The energy then surged out as it emassed, engulfing Gaonoir. "Black Gaomon, Ultimate Digivolve to...." The corona of digital energy crackled and hissed for only a few seconds, but within an eternity seemed to pass as he was practically rewritten from the code up. Then shattered away, a long cape flaring out in the ocean air as the wolf-like Beast Knight set foot on the deck instead. "Umbra Gaogamon."
Reiji Arisu Transporting a race of peoples who've been the target of rampant discriminization, colonoialism and overall assholery to greener pastures isn't the most glamorous job in the world. But even so, it's hard to argue about the virtues of the task. Not all of the multiverse is as tolerant as others, and indeed it's easy to forget that illogical hatred and inherited spite are very real things in the hearts of so many who call it home.

This is just one of the reasons that a certain exorcist is perched on one of the vessel's many railings.

There's also the fact that this just happens to be his job. And that the issue of racial disharmony is one that falls particularly close to his heart.

For now, though, there's not a whole lot of action playing out. Not yet, anyway. Radar signatures closing in can't mean anything good, and the vague sense of danger in the air is very palpable indeed.
Xiaomu Xiaomu is not a happy fox at the moment.

Sure, they're protecting a bunch of people from superstitious xenophobia, which is always a good cause, but the fact that they have to do so by escorting them out of their homeland and into a new, hopefully safe territory? That shouldn't be necessary.

But 'shouldn't be necessary' only gets fixed with time, patience, and understanding, and none of those are usually in generous supply when fear has been salting the ground. So Xiaomu is standing next to Reiji, checking the loads in Silver and Platinum; her carrypack is loaded down with extra clips for both herself and Reiji, a possibly-excessive number of Shinra-issued, fire-element-enhanced grenades, and a smaller than usual stash of fried tofu; her monk staff is nestled expertly in the crook of her arm as she slaps the magazines into her handguns and ensures that each gun has a round chambered. "So if any of those pirate tugboats get close enough, we board the closest one and knock out all its crew, use it to help sink or drive off the others, then drape some of the pirates over the gunwales and spank 'em till they talk, right?" she asks her partner.

... On the bright side? She's not grousing about being pulled away from games or anime while she's out here.
Ainsley     "It has," Ainsley replies, without turning her head to directly address Evangeline. The Neuroi's presence is comforting at the very least, making it easier for Ainsley believe this will end without the ship sinking to the bottom of the ocean. She looks aside at the Neuroi and smiles briefly, and turns her attention to Berserker as well, a scaly hand resting atop the Servant's own, a meaningful return of the comfort.

The others getting ready for the fight were given their own thoughtful looks, the lizard woman considering each of them in turn. While she would not be able to participate in the fight directly, she could certainly go below deck and stab any pirate unlucky enough to get down there. And so she climbed off the railing and sought the nearest stairwell to the area below while waiting for the battle to begin. It really wouldn't be long now.

The pirate ships come screaming across the water, their engines howling as if their magitech innards were emitting raw dragon fire into the water. Steam kicked up behind them as they moved-- a strategy to blind visual confirmation of their numbers, a detail everyone would be aware of -- while they try to get close enough to smokescreen their prey. The ship opens fire already, hammering the water with beams of blue light that can't seem to hit more than one or two of the speedy little ships at a time. It'll be up to the heroes on-board to do something about the ships.

Once they get close enough, some of the small ships fire strange glowing cable lines, snagging ahold of the transport ship to slow it down and acting as bridges for the agile pirates. These pirates, apparently comprised of some kind of canine humanoid race with a habit of wearing special gas masks with green lenses, start climbing up the ship like a veritable horde. They wield short swords and small blasters that shoot fireballs rapidly and they are really quick. Anyone in melee range will have to deal with several of them at once coming at them from any direction, if they've remained on the deck.

The air begins to grow thick with steam. If the ships are allowed to continue circling like that, pretty soon it will be hard to keep track of how many pirates are trying to board the vessel or even how many ships have approached it. There's only a handful of smokescreen ships. There's also those cables! The fog would be useless if not for the cables slowing the ship down.
Gaonoir Seriously, who would expect pirates to fight fair? Other than maybe trying to throw someone's guard off purposely, it doesn't seem very likely.

While she's staying back from the open deck Erika still has a clear view of what's going on thanks to the D-Port allowing her to see through her Digimon's POV. Well as clear as is possible when you've got steam clouds rolling towards the ship trying to make a mess of visibility. She remarks over the radio for a moment, then turns to her partner. "We need to do something about those steamers so the others can see the attackers."

"On it." Gaonoir crouchs briefly, making it look like he's literally jumping into the air to launch upward, cloak billowing behind him. There's no obvious jets or such like his previous evolution, so it must just be some inherent power of his peak form that can fly. Some tendrils of steam cloud swirl up around his armored feet as he rises over the growing cloud as much as possible to get a better view. The digital scanners built into his visor light up the HUD as they work to sweep through the smokescreen to find the circling ships causing it.

A trio of blades looking almost of pure blackness extend from the massive vambraces on his arms as Gaonoir crosses them over his chest briefly. "UMBRA CUTTER!" As he whips his arms apart in an X motion the energy erupts from the claws, turning into a shower of dozens of smaller, cresent shaped energy blades spinning through the air, through the steam and hopefully into a couple of the ships causing the cloud to build up.
Rebecca Chambers Up until now, Rebecca had been mostly silent, just nodding and affirming whatever has been said. She's not one for words right now it seems. Of course, that all changes when the pirate ships show up. When they show up, Rebecca's brow narrows into a scowl and her grabs her Magnum, slapping a clip into it quickly. "So, they decided to show themselves!"

There's no humor in this medic's voice as she aims at the incoming pirates with a sneer on her face, indicating she's not trying to lighten up the mood at all. "You wanna come aboard without permission? You pay the price!" She opens fire with her Magnum on the invading enemies.
Evangeline      Evangeline looks around at the others as well when Ainsley does, then she slowly floats up from the railing as the roar of the enemy engines starts building in the air. "...they are here..." she says softly as she floats upward. The little ships are fast! Evangeline flies out to meet them, trying to take out a few before they even reach the ship. She flies with the speed and agility of a fighter craft, and targets the steam ships first.

The ends of her sleeve-like arms and the small panels on her leg-wings start to glow bright red before salvos of dozens of sinister red beams start firing toward the pirate steam ships. Evangeline flies past one, releases a salvo, then moves on to the next. When faced with superior numbers, the most important thing is to cripple as many as possible. Some ships might sink. Some might not. Some might get away mostly unscratched.

Once the glowing cables start latching on to the ship, Evangeline changes targets. She can't risk shooting at where the cables hit the deck of the fleeing ship, but she -can- target the launchers on the pirate ships. "...leave them alone...!" she says in that soft voice of hers even as she rockets by each boarding craft and fires on the launcher with a concentrated blast, hoping she can dislodge the launcher and leave the boarders with no way to get onto the ship.
Xiaomu However much attention Xiaomu was actually *paying* during the briefing (read: probably not enough), it's pretty clear that she didn't expect the transport to get swarmed quite this numerously, aggressively, or unfairly. But when the pirate skiffs and skimmers show up in vast quantities and start racing all around them, launching cables to serve as a combination of towing and boarding, there's one thing which makes the situation far, far worse ...

She sounds HAPPY about it.

She doesn't even wait for Reiji to take the lead, simply dashes towards the nearest cluster of boarders, tossing a grenade ahead of her; no sooner has the fireball blossomed and cleared than Xiaomu herself is engaging the pirates in close combat - and yes she has handguns, yes she's proficient with melee-range gunplay, but she's not shooting or grappling. She's *swording*, Suiren's blade flashing in the sunlight as she sets about making sure the pirates have a bad time.

And why resort to her sword? Well, it's not simple blood lust - she's not being nearly as cruel or vicious with her rarely-used sword as she COULD be, and Reiji of all people would be able to pick up on that if he watches how she's fighting. Rather, as soon as Xiaomu gets close enough to where one of the cables has latched onto the transport, she swings her blade at it, adding a ton of water/ice magic to freeze the cable solid right as she's slicing - hopefully making it much easier *to* sever (or better yet, smash).

Maybe it'd be smarter to leave the pirates an easy way back to their boats, but those cables are a hazard to the whole mission by dint of how they're slowing the transport down, as well as being how the pirates are boarding in the first place. Therefore, the cables gotta go - and if pirates are stranded on the transport as a result? That much easier to capture them and drape them over the gunwales for a nice leisurely interrogation.
Maya Maya thinks they have a pretty good crew here to to deal with pirates. Maya knows the majority of them and cna woirk well with them in a fire fight. Xiaomu and Reiji she knows are pretty hard hitters and Gaonoir had a very godo reputation for being reliable in a fitght andf Ainsley can handle the talking shoul it come to it. With Neuroi girl as well they should be good to deal with this. 5R
She wiats now for the piates an she does see them she hears the engines she waits for it, she knws she shouldn't strike any time sooner and she simply rises upnoting.

"Pirates It's always the same I'm going to suggest you give up now."

then she's moving into action as she's aiming to go after the cables so far as to give Xiaomy cover to go after the cables, As well? Maya's brought a gun to a sword fight!
Frankenstein     Berserker gives Ainsley's hand a gentle squeeze. "Master. Get safe." she whispers, "Berserker... can help... here." she gives a strange smile to her Master before she walks towards another ledge... the sound of cables friring and latching on catches her ears as sparks come across her mace and into her own fins. "Mmmm." comes a soft groan from the Berserker Class Servant, her eyes wandering from cable to cable with each latching.

It looked like two could fly, which was more than she could do.... a look to Xiaomu, a Saber Class? No, she was able to do magic but it looked like she had a handle on things. "Smash." she mutters, looking at the cables that are attached near her, an odd idea comes into her head.

She places the Bridal Chest on the cables and lets loose a massive lightning blast, it wasn't Blasted Tree, so it wouldn't drain Ainsley's Prana too much, but the effect /is/ noticable... as lightning courses through those c ables and into launchers... and hopefully on the priates walking upon them. "Berserker, not... let people.... on ship!":
Reiji Arisu     "I've got a few plans of my own when those things get into range," Reiji answers his partner over the din the engine's hum. "That seems like a pretty decent plan, but I'm pretty sure it might count as torture," he shrugs, then, adjusting the straps securing his gauntlets to his arms. "Well. I suppose it'll depend on their behavior here. I can't condone anyone taking advantage of the innocents aboard this vessel, least of all... /Sea dogs./"

Speaking of which.

The pirates' arrival is nearly impossible to miss. Anyone making that much noise, stirring up that much water, you'd need to be blind to not see them coming. Reiji's lips draw into a tight line. "This is more than I expected," he murmurs, lifting his portable arsenal off the deck. "I guess I'll have to do <that.>"

"Xiaomu," he glances back, "I'm leaving the deck to you. I'll be down reenacting the Hassou Tobi."

An eight-vessel-leap? Could he mean...?

Yep.

Reiji's jumping down the first cable that latches itself to their boat. One swarthy maritime canine after another, he cleaves through one branch of the horde to make it to the ship beyond-- and the enormous concentration of pirates therein.

"Come on," Reiji growls, Chirai's lightning crashing through the mist and steam and turning the world around him into a veritable stormcloud. "I'll take you all on. Surrender, and you might live to see the light of day!"
Ainsley     The pirates that board the ship quickly find themselves in a pickle. Several of them are blown clean off their feet by the stopping power of Rebecca's firearm, while more are knocked off the side of the ship by the grenade. But there are so many of them! About two dozen manage to get on the ship and avoid the initial volley. They remain visible, though, and it's clear a handful are trying to make a break for the stairwells, which are being held shut by a few determined crewmen. The pirates start setting explosive charges...!

The remaining pirates go for anyone remaining on deck, swinging rapidly with their short swords with enough force to lop off a normal person's limb, while others support from a distance by firing numerous fireballs from their handguns. They seem to work very well as a team, any gaps in their movements replaced by another pirate. They move to hit-and-run the Elites and pin them down while others go for the objectives, and some of them are harder to hit than others...!

Several ships get struck by Evangeline and Gaonoir's volleys, with pirates scattered into the water in yips and howls of surprise and terror. One of the steam ships explodes in a massive fireball, the Neuroi beam having cleaved through and hit its fuel tank directly. The rest of the cables snap one by one as the heroes work to dislodge them, and pretty soon the ship is speeding ahead once more, with the fog failing to obscure the sneakier pirates in their objectives.

The ship that Reiji ends up on contains a good baker's dozen of pirates who promptly surrender when half of them get cut down trying to fight him. They throw down their weapons and put their hands up in clear view, not wanting to get blown up like the other pirates seem to have been. Even the stray ship or two that didn't get cut away from the transport is full of scorched pirates from Berserker's lightning, with one already ablaze and sinking into the sea behind them.

Hardly more than a minute or two has passed and it seems like the ship has smashed through the pirates like a battering ram, thanks to everyone aboard. Now all that's left is mopping up those unfortunate enough to have gotten trapped on the ship with the angry Elites. The pirate ships that had yet to reach the transport start turning to flee en masse, what few of them remain. They were not getting paid enough to fight a bunch of wound up superpowered protectors.
Evangeline      Evangeline watches as the refugee ship is freed from the tow cables, then looks to the remaining pirate ships before heading back to help the others. With the pirates moving in with explosive charges and Evangeline's lack of melee weaponry, she places herself in front of the door to the lower deck and holds up a hand. The usually invisible energy shield around her crackles and sparks, trying to display to the pirates that their efforts are unlikely to succeed even if they are not cut down. "...stop now...and you will merely be arrested...instead of destroyed..." she says, then looks to the crewmen who are behind her, now engulfed in her shield along with the doorway. "...please be calm...they cannot reach you now..."

Despite her words, Evangeline looks to the others present. If the boarders are truly to be stopped, it will have to be others that do it. Evangeline will not risk firing her guns aboard the ship.
Xiaomu Well, Xiaomu didn't expect Reiji to go and do THAT ... but his technique was super effective, as the saying goes, so she really can't complain.

Except maybe that only a few centuries' practice over her opponents is the bulk of the reason why the sage fox still has all of her extremities attached to the rest of her. She isn't going to complain about *that* either - she went barreling right into the thick of the pirates, so there's a very strong case to be made that she brought this on herself, and she knows it.

Guess it's time to play unfair again. At least the cables have basically all been dealt with, and the ship-to-ship fire is subsiding ... to the extent that Xiaomu can hear anything, or the absence thereof, after Berserker let loose with her lightning.

Sharper-than-human hearing really sucks sometimes.

Suiren is re-sheathed, and the staff is quickly slipped through a couple of loops designed for holding it on Xiaomu's carrypack; that frees her hands up to draw Silver and Platinum, and a split second later, Xiaomu is gun-fu-ing her way through the pirates. Close-range gunfire covereth a multitude of sins, and she's not above kicking, pistol-whipping, or even grappling while she's armed. Plus, her two handguns have little blades built into them as part of their customizations - and she has no problems at all about using *those* when a chance presents itself. Any of the pirates who are expecting to catch Xiaomu off-guard when a clip empties are going to be in for a rude surprise, too ... because it doesn't seem like her clips ARE emptying. At least not as quickly as they ought to be.

On the bright side (for the pirates)? She's not going out of her way to kill them; disabling is fine, and she's not going to waste time regretting it if any of her 'disabled' victims happen to bleed out.
Gaonoir Gaonoir drops back down to the deck with the ships dealt with, armor clanking a bit with the landing. Kind of funny how it is essentially a part of his body, yet at the same time it moves and sounds like one would expect a giant suit of plate armor to do so. The return puts him right in the path of one of the remaining group of boarders, holding up his arms to use the broad armored guards to intercept the sword and fireball attacks. A low growl emits from the Beast Knight as they whittle and burn a bit into his defeneses.

"Hey, Gaonoir!" Erika shouts at him from the back of the deck. "I say you show them an eye for an eye!"

Gaonoir leans back a bit as he blocks another sword sparking across his guard. "I fail to see how cutting out their eyes will--" Pause as it dawns what she means. "--Oooh." Armored legs kick off the deck briefly to jump back from his attackers, one arm snapping back to grab the edge of his cape.

"TENEBRAE SHROUD!" And then he whips around as if throwing the cape at the pirates, the shadows within expanding from the motion to engulf the Digimon and any of the pirates caught in its wake in utter darkness.

Within the fall of darkness Gaonoir moves almost instantly via his shadowplay, slicing at the pirates with his warclaws. Though all anyone else would see is a dozen slashing streaks of 'hit flash' pierce the darkness. Then it shatters away, leaving Gaonoir standing at the same point he had started from, and hopefully the boarders caught in his attack disposed of.
Rebecca Chambers The only time Rebecca stops firing is to reload her Magnum, which happens a couple of times since the clips are of short capacity. She seems to know how to move and shoot simultaneously, since she doesn't want any of those pirates getting a hold of her. Pirates are generally foul and nasty beings in her opinion, and who knows what kind of disease they might carry? Scurvy perhaps?

Unfortunately, Rebecca's Magnum gets knocked from her hand at one point. In desperation, she draws her stun baton and uses that as a melee weapon to give herself space while she tries to get her Magnum back in her hands.
Frankenstein     The Berserker's fending off what she can, trying to use... she's a berserker after all, precise strikes to disable and not kill. Ainsley did want to question some... at least, that's what she remembered. She takes aim at some legs, some arms... though, some slip by her and start making a break for the stairwell . This isn't going to do any good... "Uuuuu!" she ... 'warns', stopping her smashing for a bit and letting out a very loud groan, making use of her Lament of the Falsely Living to try and inhibit the pirates ability to think and breathe... might as well try to make them fall over!
Reiji Arisu What, they're actually surrendering? That's... Actually a lot more reasonable than Reiji was expecting, to be honest. The exorcist wastes little time in hauling in a crew of salty sea dogs. They make it to the ship with their arms bound and their legs soon thereafter. He did, after all, promise that they might just get to live if they'd surrendered.

He might be feeling a bit... over-generous. But then, he IS on the clock.

Of course, that doesn't stop him from capping one of the leftover pirates near Xiaomu when he decides to try and get uppity and go for an ambush.

"Everyone in one piece?" Reiji asks, tugging one of his captives along. "I brought some booty aboard. Might be able to use them to get the others to stand down. But at the very least, a few more criminals off the high seas."
Maya The pirate re now boaring the ship, she move and she'll move to open fire with hrr rifle as she startst to move the rifle whines and opens up Missiles seek out heading for the pirate the explosive charge are not huge but they might be enough to get htir attention and then comes the attacks formt he othes a number of hte boats are going down fas. She has to figure out where the others are this isn't over and the pirates are still comming. 5R
"Keep your heads twe have more coming in!"

Maya's though making herself a target by not diving for cover.
Ainsley     Mace strikes, sword slashes, gunfire, the titanic power of a Digimon at full strength, the impedence of a Neuroi shield and the hindering thrum of Berserker's voice all work together to dwindle the numbers of the remaining pirates and incapacitate the rest of them. One of the pirates that got floored appears to be one of the lieutenants, even, wearing a more fancy outfit and having been fighting a lot harder than the others up until that point.

At least one pirate ship remains intact in the waters, with the others having fled into the horizon as quickly as they arrived. It may be possible to scavenge it to search for intel later, once it gets recovered from the water. The pirate strategy was defeated so soundly that they couldn't even crack the bulkheads to get below deck.

Ainsley's voice sounds over the intercom.

"Well done, everyone. Debrief once we dock, for those of you willing to stick around. I'll be up shortly to help put prisoners in the holding cells and bring the deceased to the morgue. We saved a lot of lives today."
Rebecca Chambers Once everything is taken care of, Rebecca breathes a sigh of relief and wipes her forehead. "Well, that was intense!" She says, looking to the others and giving them a thumbs up. "We did good, everyone!" She runs a hand through her hair and sighs cheerfully. "Then again, it's just another day on the job for S.T.A.R.S. I suppose!"
Gaonoir The Beast Knight lowered himself to one knee, warblades retracting back into his forearm armor as he reached over to pick up one of the pirates downed by his assault. Dangling from between his metallic fingers, the gashes from his weapon across the pirate's abdomen were obvious, the blood already caking his torn clothing as it dries.

Eyes behind the visor glowed faintly as they focused on that clearly lethal wound. Gaonoir had never had a problem with destroying the enemy in combat before. These were wicked, sick men.. dog.. things... Yet now, there was a twidge in the back of his mind asking if this was necessary.

A small hand came to rest on an armored shoulder as Erika walked up behind him. "Don't think about that," the young woman remarked softly, having some idea what the former enforcer of a corrupt digital god-computer was musing. "Think of all the ones that didn't die pointlessly because of it."

"... It may not be the last of them." Then like that Gaonoir is back to his usual indifference, mission first demeanor. "There may be other ships waiting in case we survived this attack but the ship was damaged." Armored clicked as he gently removed Erika's hand and stood up. "Someone should keep watch, just in case."

Erika brushed a hand through her hair briefly as she watched him start walking towards the front of the ship. Let him focus on doing something instead of lingering on the past. It's better for him that way. "Yeah, let's do that!" she replied, perking up her voice to sound encouraging as she hustled to follow him.
Xiaomu Xiaomu casually ejects the clips from her handguns, reloading both Silver and Platinum *just* in case she needs to shoot anything else this trip. She's sort of hoping not to.

And once the prisoners have been secured - which may take a while, but she'll help with that - once everything is handled, she unslings her carrypack, leans against a bulkhead, and starts munching on some fried tofu.
Evangeline      Evangeline holds her shield until the pirates are all secure. She finally lowers it, then nods to the crewmen before she floats over toward Rebecca. "...good job everyone..." she says softly. "...they were not prepared for such a strong defense...perhaps they will think better of it next time such a mission is offered..."

With that, Evangeline floats over and takes a seat on the railing again and looks out at the water. "...I will stay with the ship until it reaches safe harbor..." she says when Gaonoir speaks up.

Whether Evangeline is bothered by the fallen or not is unclear, but she shows little reaction to the fallen that she floated over. Where she comes from, enemies get no mercy. She isn't use to there being something left of her enemies though, and her head does tilt down at a nearby fallen pirate. She floats up again, then floats over to him. "...humans...and human-like creatures...they value the remains of their fallen...we should ensure they are returned to their families if possible...if they have any..." she says, then leans down at the waist and closes the dog man's eyes.
Frankenstein     Berserker, after helping with clearing out the pirates, does the one thing she can do well. She sets the Bridal Chest down on what looks like the leader... the guy with a fancy outfit. She just lets the large mace rest upon the lieutenant, keeping him there where he sits. "No.... move..." she groans out, placing the heel of her armored boot down on his back too. She was going to make sure this one answered to Ainsley, personally.
Maya Maya @eit Looks as the chaos ends and everyone on the sting team seems to be all right which leaves her quite happy. She takes a deep breath as she lowers her weapons. she nods for a moment.

"Copy that and I'll tend to those who are wounded. Can't have them expiring before trial or questioning, right?"

She looks over to Xiaomu for a moment grinning. 5R
"Well that was a nice warm up wasn't it and is everyone else ... all right?"
% She also agress with Neuroi Girl's comments, it seems she's learned a hell of a lot since she entered the multiverse.
